Again, you'll hear me reiterateabout communication.

We don't want to keep thesethings a secret.
We need to talk about thechallenges that we're facing so

(01:31):
we can get more people in tohelp.

(01:52):
Now we've got a variety ofdifferent ways that we can
overcome these unforeseenconditions.
This may include revising theplans, reallocating resources or
renegotiating the contract toaccommodate these changes.
Flexibility is key.
We've got to be willing toadjust our plans.
So be humble.
Maybe your plan that youoriginally wanted to do.
Especially as a superintendent, you know we want to wrap our

(02:13):
arms around the entire project, but you've got to be flexible.
Maybe somebody else has abetter way to do this.
Implementing contingency plansis another crucial aspect of
adapting to unforeseenconditions in construction.
We've got to be proactive andnot reactive.
This means things like readingyour plans, looking ahead.
People have saidsuperintendents have a
superpower of looking into thefuture.
We can see, because we've seenthese buildings built, what

(02:35):
might cause an impact six, twelve plus weeks down the road
when we're reactive and notproactive.
This doesn't help anybody.
People get stressed out.
People are freaking out.
What's the plan?
What do we do?
You've got to be like a duckSmooth, calm and collect on the
surface, paddling like hellunderneath.
Another key aspect istransparency.
We have to share with theclient what's going on.
If you don't tell them anything, they're going to think okay,

(02:57):
everything's just going alongsmoothly, as planned.
We need to let them know whatthe issue is.
This may cause a change order.
This may cause changes in theplans.
It may extend the schedule, whoknows?
Unforeseen circumstances are aninevitable part of the
construction project.
But by maintaining flexibility, communicating effectively with
all the stakeholders andimplementing contingency plans,

(03:17):
we can navigate these challengesand ensure project success.
Proactive problem solving withthe team that's the key.
Get everybody involved.
You might think there's toomany cooks in the kitchen, but
somebody out there has thesolution to the problem you're
facing.

There's nothing new under thesun when it comes to the
construction industry.

We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
