Join me this week as I share a new concept I’ve been tinkering with: Mapping Your Intuition.

I explain how to unravel the steps and actions taken to create something you want, and remind you of how important it is to take ownership of your role in the things you’ve created.

In this episode, I share:

  • The steps to follow to create an Intuition Map
  • How to work backwards to identify actions that led to past creations
  • Recognizing inner wisdom
  • And how to apply this process to create things you’re currently wanting.

I also share about the importance of staying open and receptive to intuitive nudges for future creations.

Scarlett 2i2 USB (00:24):
Welcome to today's episode, Mapping Your
Intuition.
Mapping Your Intuition is aconcept that I've been tinkering
with, to uncover exactly how wecreate what we want, so how
we've done it in the past, andthen what can we learn from it,
to apply to what we wanna createin the future.

(00:47):
I think of it as like a knotwith many threads.
And once we start to pick apartthe knot, we see the ways that
each thread is linked together,is connected, maybe overlaps
with other threads, to createthis whole knot, which in this
example, the knot is somethingthat we have created that we

(01:10):
wanted.
I think we can use this methodto uncover how you've created
things that you want.
And then utilize it to tap intoyour intuition, to learn wisdom
that you can apply to what youwanna create in the future.
I'm gonna share the process ontoday's episode, and there will

(01:32):
be a download available in TheResource Library that you can
use to navigate this process ifyou wanna join that.
And if you want to dive deeperinto this.
So the first step in mappingyour intuition is to think about
the thing that you want.
And let's start by thinkingabout something that you wanted,

(01:53):
that you have, that you'vealready created.
In the future you can workthrough this with something that
you are actively wanting tocreate and have.
But let's start with somethingthat you already have so that
you can get the steps down.
And I want you to see yourselfas the hero here.
You created this thing in yourlife.

(02:15):
You did it.
A lot of us are like, oh, ithappened because of this.
This is like how I did it.
No, you created it.
You made it happen.
You took a lot of steps to makeit happen.
So number one, take ownershipover that.
And number two, let's dig intolooking for the nudges that you
received that led you to worktowards creating it.

(02:40):
What were maybe some alignedactions that you took, things
that worked and things thatdidn't, but that you learned
from?
I find it really helpful to workbackwards.
What's the last thing I did?
Then the thing before that?
Like a reverse breadcrumb trail.
Or if we go back to the knotanalogy, what was the last

(03:00):
thread you untangled and thenthe thread before that?
We wanna record all thebreadcrumbs, all the threads,
and take proud responsibilityfor everything that you've done
that has gotten you what youwanted, that helped you create
the thing.
Keep going until you get to thefirst inkling you had of the

(03:21):
idea, and maybe it shifted overtime.
That's great, totally fine, butkeep excavating, keep following
the threads and witnessing allof your brilliance, all of the
ways in which you just keptfollowing the lily pads and
slowly, or maybe quickly, builtor created exactly what you
wanted.
And all of the ways that youbrilliantly did that.

(03:43):
I don't think we give ourselvesenough credit.
I think, like I said a minuteago, I think a lot of times we
think like, oh, this happenedbecause of this, or like, oh, I
was just lucky, or whatever.
No, you are brilliant.
And if you are creating thingsthat are really meaningful to
you, that means that you areutilizing your inner wisdom to
do it, your inner brilliance todo it.

(04:05):
You're tapping into that placeinside of you that only you
have, and that guides you tocreating things that are really
meaningful to you.
We wanna celebrate that and wealso wanna like spend more time
there, tap into it, let'sexplore it.
Let's feel more intimatelyfamiliar with it so that it's a
place that you can tap into morefrequently and when you want to,

(04:29):
not feeling like it's just thisthing that happens by chance.
So this is how you create anintuition map.
You record what you've done, every single thing.
You acknowledge your brillianceand your inner wisdom that
guided you here, that led you tocreate the thing and all of the
many things along the way,right?

(04:50):
Because because like the thingthat you have or have created,
that you want, that is made upof a lot of mini things that
happened along the way.
And what I want you to realizeis how much of a badass you are
for creating it, and that therewas a partnership that helped
you do so.

(05:11):
If you want to hear more aboutthe partnership, go back and
listen to episode 26, it'stitled Intuition Creativity
Flow.
To me, there's this alchemicalprocess when we utilize our
problem solving skills, thisamazingly powerful brain that we
were all given, plus our innerwisdom, our inner knowing, this

(05:35):
intangible undefined place thatwe can't fully define and we
definitely cannot fullyunderstand.
When we pair those two together, and we take something and
transform it by taking these rawparts a level deeper, and
pairing them together in thisalchemical process, and making

(05:56):
these invisible callings that wehave or invisible nudges/ ideas
visible.
By taking something that onlyyou can see and making it
explicit in the world.
So that's what Episode 26 isabout.
In my opinion, it's a veryinteresting one, I've heard a
lot of really great feedbackabout it, and it's there to

(06:17):
support you in partnering moredeeply with your intuition.
Okay, so that is an overview ofmapping your intuition.
And again, I'm gonna repeat itone more time.
I know I've already said it, butyou choose something that you
have created for this first one.

(06:37):
You look at every single thingthat you did to make it real.
Every nudge, every experiment, every obstacle, every success.
You acknowledge yourself for allof the amazing work that you did
to create it.
And you keep going until you getto the original inkling of the
idea and like maybe foryourself, what did that feel

(07:00):
like?
How did you even like start tofollow that hunch?
What was it about it that wasinteresting or compelling to
you?
Breaking down that process foryourself.
This is highly individual, butif the more you acquaint
yourself to your process, themore it could be predictive.
So you've unpacked it forsomething that you've created.

(07:20):
Now we do the same thing forsomething that you wanna create.
You state what you wanna create, what you wanna make, what you
wanna see in the world.
Then you familiarize yourselfwith the inkling that you had.
How do you know?
Why do you wanna do it?
And then you start following thebreadcrumbs that you've already
done, and then paying closeattention to information that

(07:43):
comes to you, whether throughyour brain or through your
intuitive senses, your innerknowing, these little tugs,
nudges, that's kind of how Ithink about them- maybe small
awarenesses.
Pay attention to those and yousee the way that those are the
breadcrumbs that are buildingthe path to get you to create
what it is that you want to haveor see in the world.

(08:07):
That's the mapping yourintuition for something you've
created and then how you woulddo it for something you don't
yet have.
How you would use your intuitionto map the way that you're gonna
create it, which I think likethe open secret here is you'll
never know.
It's a totally unknown process.
It's just gonna unfold one stepat a time.
And how can you tune into yoursenses more?

(08:31):
Mostly probably your intuitivesenses for sure, your problem
solving.
But how can you tune into yourintuitive senses more?
To be maybe more acutely awareof nudges, something that piques
your interest, a little tug thatyou feel, and follow that
breadcrumb.
Then you've done that, celebrateit, and then you stay open for,

(08:55):
okay, what's the next thingthat's gonna come in?
What might be next?
What's interesting?
And then if you don't have anyinformation, sitting in an
unknown place where you're justopenly awaiting, you know, not
super anxious about it.
Not like, Ooh, I gotta figurethis out.
I need to like force my waythere.
Just like open, ready toreceive.

(09:16):
When you do the Mapping YourIntuition exercise, I would
encourage you to choose one bigrock or one big breadcrumb, and
break it all the way down.
Following the mapping yourintuition method that I shared
earlier, to see all the ways inwhich you created it.
Because trust me, you haveactively created everything that

(09:37):
you have.
Even the things that you feellike just happened to you.
You did the work to make themhappen.
You set yourself up, you set theintention, you did the inner
work, you laid the groundwork, you did it.
And owning that is imperative toyou continuing to create what
you want in your life.

(09:58):
If we think life is just sort ofhappening to us, which sometimes
it is, I'm not like gonna say,oh it we are totally in control,
sometimes life does happen tous, but if we think that life is
always just happening to us andwe don't have much
participation, we're going toexperience our lives very
differently, and we're going toshow up and operate in our lives

(10:19):
very differently, then if webelieve that we are in
partnership, I would say, withthe way our lives are unfolding
and working out.
And there's a lot that we can doon our end to influence the
things that we have and do andbecome.
That is what I have for youtoday.
Just a reminder, there's adownload for this in the

(10:41):
resource library if you wannadig further into this, but
there's also the instructions inthis episode that you can
follow.
I am so glad that you are hereand that we get to walk our
paths together.
See you next time.
Same time, same place.
Bye for now.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
