and more.
This is your go-to space fordiscovering trailblazing ideas,
untold stories and meaningfulconversations with innovators
(00:31):
and creators who are shaping ourworld.
There's no gatekeeping here, sosit back, tune in and let's
discover only the best together.
Hey guys, how is everyone?
(00:52):
It's finally fall and, honestly, you guys, every single year, I
wait for this moment.
I know that a lot of people aremore summer girlies and you
enjoy the summer and, as much asI love the summer, I literally
wait for fall and then literallyanticipate winter every single
(01:16):
year.
I am a winter person.
I live for fall fashion andthat crisp cool air.
I think that there's nothingbetter than actually fall winter
in Cairo, specifically, where Ilive, because we do get a
little change of season, butit's not so bad that it kind of
like throws you off.
(01:36):
Anyways, I thought I would do acool little episode for you
guys and I'm gonna call it theseven day fall, winter reset or
glow up, I'm not sure yet, butone or the other, because I
think that there are certainpractices that you can do to get
yourself back in the mood ofthat like cozy season where
(02:01):
everyone starts to like feellike they'd love to to, you know
, grind a little bit more, getback to work a little bit more
and go all in, so to speak.
But I really did take thesummer off this year, and I took
the summer off this year forthe first time in a very long
time and I really felt supergood about it.
(02:22):
To be be honest with you, Ienjoyed my summer.
I ate whatever I wanted.
I didn't really work out thatmuch, I didn't teach that much,
and it was bliss.
But as a true Libra, as a trueEnneagram 8 manifesting
generator in human design, Imean, please look those things
(02:44):
up if you don't know much aboutthem.
It's really interesting and Ido believe in these things the
archetypes of who we are ashumans and how we function.
I always end up itching for thegrind again.
So, without further ado, theseare my seven tips to glow up and
(03:05):
reset for the fall winterseason and guarantee that you'll
enter the new year honestlyfeeling fantastic.
Okay, so let's get into it.
So my first tip for glowing upand resetting in the fall is
(03:28):
going back to moving your bodyin a way that feels good for you
, and for me, that can mean alot of different things.
I do a lot of videos on myInstagram my specifically my
Pilates Instagram, pilates byNoor and I talk about the
differences between mat Pilates, classic reformer legree, what
(03:48):
you need to do to lose weight, what you need to do to tone up
and, I'm Honestly, I'll do morevideos like this because I feel
like they really resonate withyou guys.
But I don't think it reallymatters what you do in a sort of
transitional period like this,as long as you get back to it,
and if that means like going outand buying a cute workout set
(04:11):
from like a brand like HumanityCode, for example you guys, I
know I love, you know I lovethem.
You guys, I know I love, youknow I love them.
Um, lululemon, aloe, you know, getting a new pair of sneakers.
I'll try and do a curated editfor fall for you guys related to
this reset, with some, withsome like sneakers and some like
workout fits that I think aresuper motivating and incredible,
(04:35):
and just pick something thatyou would love to do, something
that'll help you start fresh, even if it's like literally cozy
pilates on an app in yourliving room.
Um, there's a girl calledpilates, by briany.
Actually, I really like her app.
I use it a lot.
She has a very chill way ofteaching and I enjoy it, and she
(04:59):
doesn't require too muchequipment as well and not too
much time in terms of commitment.
So I think the best thing youcan do is kind of get yourself
into a routine.
Pick one thing okay, whetherit's Pilates, whether it's the
gym, whatever it is and getthere twice a week.
And if you can get there twicea week for two weeks in a row,
you can add another day.
And you can get there twice aweek for two weeks in a row, you
can add another day and you canget back into it.
(05:20):
Nobody asked you to grind inthe summer.
It's really not the moment forit.
You know, even if you did go toa couple of pilates classes in
the summer, even if you wereconsistent, let me tell you, I
mean, ultimately nobody has itlocked in in the summer, but to
lock in in the winter, you gottastart now.
You have to start now.
(05:41):
So that's my first tip, guysfind something that you really
love and do it at least twice aweek and build on that.
My second tip and I feel like Ijust sound like a broken record
with this one, but it's committo daily walking, and I really
do mean daily at this point.
I don't mean every other day, Idon't mean let's skip days, of
course I.
I mean in the weekend you'll bewalking or dancing or whatever,
(06:03):
hopefully when you're out withfriends, since wedding season is
coming up.
So those definitely count assteps.
Your whoop, your trackingdevice that ruins every single
(06:24):
wedding outfit on your ankle orhide it like at the top of your
arm so it doesn't ruin youroutfit.
But yeah, I mean like, aim for8k steps a day.
I know everyone says 10, but 10can be, honestly, if you live in
a city like Cairo, like me,really difficult.
Like for me to get 10k steps aday, I have to really walk for a
chunk of time in the morningand then a chunk of time at
(06:44):
night, and I don't live in awalking city, it just is what it
is.
If you're a New Yorker, I'm sojealous of you for that reason
alone, if anything.
I mean truly it not that easy, but like if you can even get 5k
steps, guys, even 5k steps a day.
Literally walking is the mostunderrated form of cardio, of
(07:08):
ramping up your metabolism, fatburning, of everything.
And I say this and I'm going tokeep saying this because people
don't believe you, but it isthe truth.
My third tip and I just posteda TikTok about this, so
definitely go check it out atthe dot curation on TikTok and
it's basically hydrating and nothibernating in this weather,
(07:33):
literally.
Get yourself a jug.
It doesn't matter what it is,it doesn't need to be a Stanley.
By the way, they leak, which Imean is unfortunate.
But there are other types ofjugs.
It doesn't matter at all whatthe brand is.
Put a bunch of lemons in there, slices, squeeze a lemon, pinch
(07:55):
of salt, a little bit of applecider vinegar and a ton of ice
and chug that thing at leasttwice a day.
Okay, and it sounds so taxingand annoying and like boring, oh
my god, to walk around and it'sheavy.
No, no, it makes such adifference, you guys, it makes
(08:15):
such a difference.
And in summer we're drinkingdiet cokes and we're drinking
sugary cocktails and smoothiesand we're not really drinking
water because you don't actuallythink that you need to, but
especially in the winter.
You don't feel thirsty anymorebecause the weather is crisp,
you're not hot, so you forget todrink water.
(08:37):
So make sure to remember tohydrate, because this is going
to be your key to not lookingcrusty in the winter.
So we're still in fall.
You have time.
My fourth tip is journaling andreflecting.
This is something that I loveto do in the fall.
I started doing this lastSeptember and now it's been a
year of me doing the morningpages that I learned from the
(09:01):
Artist's Way, which is anincredible book by Julia
Cameroon.
Any person who is feeling stuckin their life, anyone who
really wants to kind of divedeeper into their personality
and ask themselves the bigquestions without like going to
therapy or necessarily doinganything drastic like that.
(09:23):
Honestly, I really, reallybelieve in this book and, like I
said before I've described itbefore, but I'll say it again
now the morning pages areessentially three pages that you
write in a notebook that'sdesignated to this and you pick
up a pen and you writeconsistently for three pages
straight.
(09:44):
You just brain dump and it's themost therapeutic, calming,
relaxing, empowering practiceever therapeutic, calming,
relaxing, empowering practiceever.
Because if you are someone who, like myself, has a lot of ideas
, a lot of energy, a lot ofcreative output that they want
to get out there.
Sometimes that helps to justdump on the page, and the book
(10:04):
itself is sort of like a 12-weekcourse.
I know it's crazy, right?
So I think I started it inAugust and I took it with me and
I traveled in September lastyear and I kept on going till
October and when you're donewith it, you keep on going and I
don't do it every day anymore.
I used to do it every day forthe course, but I do it when I
(10:24):
feel like I need it and I alwayshave my morning pages notebook
and I always recommend this toeverybody.
It's a life changer.
So my fifth tip is waking upearlier.
So I know that this iscounterintuitive, but in the
summer we stay up late.
Sorry guys, the sinuses arekilling me from the change of
(10:47):
season.
But yeah, I mean, in the summerwe stay up late and we wake up
a little later and things arejust like so, so chill.
You know, the day is longer, the sun's out longer, etc.
In the winter I always feellike that's my moment to get up
early, to catch that likepre-sunrise moment, to get that
(11:09):
cool air in my face and wake upand figure out what I'm going to
do with the day or my life orwhatever it is.
Contrary to popular belief, I donot believe in being a morning
person in the summer.
I think winter is a moment forthat.
You get less hours of sunlighta day anyway, so you may as well
get up a little bit earlier andkind of seize the day, guys,
(11:29):
even if it's just 30 minutesminutes, even if it's just once
or twice a week.
I always talk about this, andmy most important tip for waking
up early is not to put anypressure on yourself to do any
like crazy morning routine or5am club protocol or miracle
morning.
You can literally just get up,light a candle if the sun's not
(11:51):
up yet, make a cup of tea andjust stare at nothing, and it
will change your day, I promise.
Try it, let me know, okay.
So my, my six, oh, my god.
Wow, anyway, siri.
My sixth tip is a closet detox.
(12:11):
This is something that I liketo do pre and post summer.
I think they call it springcleaning for some reason, but I
think we should definitely do itin the winter as well.
This is so therapeutic.
It really goes without saying.
Figure out what your winteruniforms are.
Get the coats out.
Put away everything else.
If you need to store thingsthat you know.
(12:32):
If you need to like reorganizeyour home, get it done.
Just go in with a freshperspective.
Obviously, if you need storagesolutions, you know where to go.
It's yourstorageef on instagram.
Love them.
They're like lifesavers for me.
And, yeah, just closet detoxguys.
(12:55):
Give some stuff away.
Give some stuff to your sister,to your brother, to the
neighbors.
Give, give, give, give, give asmuch as you can.
Believe me, I'm in the era ofgiving rather than accumulating
things I don't need, and itfeels so much better than being
a consumer all the time.
It's the curation era, afterall, isn't it?
(13:18):
So that's kind of the theme ofthis podcast.
Okay, my final tip is to try togo back to natural, and this is
something I'm going to challengemyself with as well.
I just got my gel nails doneand, to be honest, I love them,
but I feel like it's time to letgo and, as tragic as that
sounds, I have my highlights inmy hair and I miss my black hair
(13:39):
.
I miss my dark brown, chocolateblack hair.
I miss my natural nails and mybushy eyebrows and, to be honest
, I think winter is a time torock that look and I feel like
we just do so much to our bodiesin the summer to just get that
vibe, including getting tanned.
But ultimately, I challenge youbecause I need an
(14:02):
accountability buddy for thisone.
Guys, this is something thatI'm not currently practicing,
but let's do it together becauseI really want to do it, which
is going back to natural, because it's always when I look
at pictures of myself withnatural nails, natural hair,
natural brows, naturaleverything I always think to
(14:24):
myself wow, that is that's whatthat's when I look best.
That's my best look.
So if that is the case, thenwhy do we always go into the
cycle of doing all the thingsand then realizing I could have
just stayed myself anyways?
Those are my seven reset tipsfor a fall winter.
(14:46):
Glow up.
I hope you guys do at least one.
I hope you implement them.
If you do, please dm me.
Let's encourage each other, let's push each other, let's go
into the new year literallyfeeling better than ever.
And that's it, my loves.
I hope you enjoyed this episode.
I'll do a curation for you bythe end of the week that matches
(15:06):
what I discussed today with acouple of products that I love
for the fall and have abeautiful month ahead.
