It's Friday, the twenty sixth of September. Here's what's making
headlines the seven.

US President Donald Trump has announced a one hundred percent
tariff on pharmaceutical imports in oppost to his social media
platform truth Social. Trump announced at tax will come into
effect on the first of October and be applied to
quote any branded or patented pharmaceutical product imported into the US. However,
foreign companies that operate manufacturing facilities in the US will

be exempt from the one hundred percent tariff. Australia's pharmaceutical
and medicine exports to the US were worth two billion
dollars in twenty twenty four. The federal government said it's
seeking further details.

A QUANTUS flight from Sydney to Auckland has made a
mid air May Day call after the pilot flagged concerns
of a possible fire in the plane's cargo hold. Urgency
call triggered a priority landing response at Auckland Airport, but
the plane landed safely with no injuries reported across its
one hundred and sixty two passengers. According to quantas. Preliminary

investigations suggest there was no fire, it's understood, and alarm
went off in the cockpit, signaling a smoke or heat source.
Engineers are inspecting the plane to determine what triggered the alert.

Celebrations are underway in Victoria ahead of tomorrow's AFL Grant Final.
The Geelong Cats will face reigning premiers the Brisbane Lions
at the MCG with first bounce at two thirty pm.
It will be each side's seventh Grant Final appearance, but
the first time they have met for a desider. The
Cats are on an eight match winning streak and head

into tomorrow as marginal favorites, three weeks since they defeated
the Lions in a qualifying final. Snoop Dogg will headline
the pre match entertainment. The AFL has defended its decision
to move forward with the US Rapper following criticism over
his previous homophobic comments. The league said his performance will
be quote family friendly.

And today's good news. A new dinosaur species has been
discovered in Argentina. The fossil of a seven meter long
predator who died with the leg of an ancient crocodile
in its mouth was uncovered by researchers with the Patagonian
Institute of Geology and Paleontology. The dinosaur lived and estimated
seventy million years ago in what is now central Patagonia

and belonged to the Mega raptor family, a type of
carnivorous dinosaur that roamed South America, Asia and Australia. It's
been named Juaquin Raptor, after the son of doctor Luccio Ibiiku,
the palaeontologist who led the discovery team. Juaquin Raptor is
the most complete Mega raptor fossil ever discovered, providing researchers
with a clearer picture of the least understood dinosaurs of all.
