Simon's It's Tuesday, the twenty ninth of July. Here's what's
making headlines this evening.

A peak hour shooting in a New York City office
building has left five people dead, including the gunman. CCTV
footage shows a man entering a Manhattan building on Monday
evening carrying an assault rifle. Authorities have confirmed the twenty
seven year old gunman killed a police officer in the
building lobby before taking a lift to the thirty third floor,
where he shot and wounded several others. According to an

update from New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tish, four innocent
victims are dead and one person is in a critical condition,
while the shooter also died at the scene. The commissioner
paid tribute to the thirty six year old NYPD officer
killed in the shooting, who she said died as he
lived a hero. Investigators believe the attacker was acting alone,

and our continuing inquiries to deter motive.

South Australian doctors have agreed to a thirteen percent pay
rise following negotiations with the state government. It means planned
strike action for tomorrow will no longer go ahead across
the state. The Essay Doctors Union had been calling for
a thirty percent pay rise, but has agreed in principle
to a revised offer of thirteen percent over four years.

The proposal includes a three point five percent salary increase
for doctors this year, backdated to April, ahead of consecutive
annual pay rises of around three to three point twenty
five percent in twenty twenty six, twenty twenty seven and
twenty twenty eight. State Premier Peter Malinowskis said the deal
will make junior doctors pay more nationally competitive and includes

generous incentives to attract and retain regional doctors. In light
of the revised offer, the union has suspended strike action
for at least six weeks. Its members will vote on
the pay increase tomorrow.

US President Donald Trump has announced plans to double the
minimum tariff on goods imported from all countries. Trump is
in Scotland, where he told report Is he wanted to

the highest grossing country tour ever and smashed multiple other records.
Beyonce toured her Grammy Award winning album across nine uscas
this year before finishing up in Vegas last week. According
to Billboard, the thirty two show tour sold over one

point six million tickets and made four hundred million US
dollars or around six hundred and thirteen million Aussie dollars.
It's Beyonce's second tour to gross over four hundred million,
after her twenty twenty three Renaissance tour. The milestone has
previously been achieved by Coldplay, ed Sheeran and the Rolling Stones,
but never before by an American or any female performer.

The success of Cowboy Carter has seen Beyonce break or
tie with forty seven records, including her own as both
the highest grossing Black artist and highest grossing R and
B artist in history.
