The personal details of millions of Quantus customers may have
been leaked following a mass cyber attack. In a statement today,
the national carrier said it detected unusual activity on a
third party call center on Monday and responded immediately to
contain the breach. It's understood the service records of six
million Quantus customers were being stored on the platform when

it was targeted by cyber criminals. The airline is quote
continuing to investigate the proportion of the data that has
been stolen, but said it expects it will be significant.
According to Quantus CEO Vanessa Hudson, the airline is working
closely with government and law enforcement authorities. Hudson apologized to
customers for the uncertainty caused by the incident.

Heads up. This next story discusses child abuse and distressing themes.
The Victorian government has announced an urgent review into childcare
safety after a twenty six year old childcare worker was
charged with more than seventy offenses. Joshua Brown is accused
of offenses against eight victims, including child rape, sexual activity
in the presence of a child, and producing child abuse material.

The alleged defenses took place at a Melbourne childcare centre
between twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three. The Victorian
Health Department has recommended twelve hundred children undergo testing for
infectious diseases as a precautionary measure. State premierg Justinto Allen
today announced families of these children will be eligible for
a five thousand dollar payment to cover the costs of

taking time off work and any health appointments. An urgent
review into the sector will be focused on taking immediate action,
including looking at the possibility of installing CCTV in childcare centers.
The review's findings are due to be handed down in August.

US President Donald Trump's controversial tax and spending legislation, also
known as the Big Beautiful Bill, has narrowly passed the
US Senate. The bill sets out key parts of Trump's
domestic policy agenda, and includes extending tax carts for the
wealthiest Americans and increasing the National debt Limit, which is
the legal limit on government borrowing, by four trillion dollars.

The bill will also boost funding to combat illegal immigration
at the US Mexico border and restrict some Americans access
to medical subsidies. Vice President JD. Vance casts a tie
breaking vote to pass the bill fifty one votes to fifty.
It will now return to the House of Representatives for
final approval. The Republican Party holds a majority in both houses,

but it's unclear whether the legislation has enough support to
pass this final step.

And today's good news, a rare sighting of a leopard
in Bangladesh has renewed hopes for the future of the
endangered species. Not for profit organization Creative Conservation Alliance discovered
a leopard living in the forests of Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill
Tracks after installing camera traps throughout the habitat. The group
has celebrated what it called evidence that these elusive big

cats still persist in the area. Leopards are listed as
vulnerable globally, but they are critically endangered in Bangladesh. CCA
said quote their survival depends on the crucial support of
local communities who share their habitat. The organization said its
continuing efforts to protect these animals and ensure a future
where leopards and people coexist.
