It's Tuesday, the thirtieth of September. Here's what's making headlines
this evening.

The Reserve Bank of Australia the RBA has left the
cash rate on hold at three point six percent. It
comes after the central Bank chose to cut interest rates
by twenty five points from three point eight five percent
in August. The cash rate is what the RBA charges
banks for short term loans. It affects how much interest
banks charge customers on their loans, for example mortgages, which

The central Bank said inflation has fallen substantially since the
peak in twenty twenty two, but it warned inflation for
the September quarter quote may be higher than expected. The

on Monday local time. However, the deal is not guaranteed.
It also needs to be approved by the Israeli Cabinet
and HAMAS, which is currently considering the proposal. Speaking alongside

The Aussie finished fastest in the four hundred meter T
thirty six event in Delhi, where this year's competition is
being hosted. The sprinter completed the race in about fifty
two seconds and marked his twelfth global title After the race,

it feels good. I might have gone out a little
bit too hard, but other than that, I executed pretty well.
Turner's next race is the one hundred meter T thirty
six on Friday, an event where he holds the world

But the winner of New Zealand's annual Bird of the
Year competition has been announced, so we couldn't let you
go without talking about it. This year, the top gong
went to the Kardia Rea, or the New Zealand Falcon.
A high speed hunter. The falcon can reach speeds of
up to two two hundred kilometers an hour. The competition

is run by the independent conservation organization Forest and Bird
and aims to raise awareness about New Zealand's native species,
many of which are endangered. The organization's CEO, Nikolatocki, said
eight of the top ten birds in the competition are
in trouble due to the impacts of climate change, habitat destruction,
and predation. Toki said it's important to share these birds

with the world saying quote once people know their stories,
they advocate and they act. Now, in its twentieth year,
the competition received more than seventy five thousand votes from
one hundred and twenty three countries. The New Zealand Falcon
is now one of the few birds to have won
multiple times and features on the country's twenty dollar note.
