Speaker 1 (00:14):
What's up, guys? How are you welcome into a Thursday
morning episode of the Daily Juice Podcast. My name is
Matt Perrault. You guys can follow me across all of
my socials at Sports Talk Matt. There. You will see
when we take a little bit of break. When I'm
coming back, I'm still going to be alive. So once
again update so no one freaks out and everyone's like,
what the heck's going on? There will be a podcast

(00:36):
on Sunday morning, but then there won't be a podcast
for a week. I'm back in Vegas on Saturday, May third.
The podcast will take a seven day break from Sunday
to Sunday, but you'll get a podcast on Sunday, May fourth.
We'll come back with the Daily Juice Podcast. I know
all of you guys will want that podcast because you
like what happened last night where we bounced back. Some

(00:57):
of you know the trend here oh and three followed
up by a three and oh pretty good odds of
it happening, And it happened last night. Miami covers the
twelve and a half points, Like I thought their defense
was better, but they did give up an NBA record
for number of threes made in a quarter in a
playoff game. Miami Cleveland hit eleven in the second quarter,

(01:18):
but then cooled off in the fourth quarter, big type,
so Miami covered the twelve and a half. The Rockets
won the game going away. Jimmy Butler's injury definitely factored
into that, but I don't know. They may won the
game easily even without even with Jimmy Butler on the court.
So Rockets win. That got none of them are closed
at four, and then the the over came in easily
for the Lake for the Kings and the Edmonton Oilers
six to two win for the Kings. They're up two

(01:40):
games to none. If you bet money line like I suggested,
you went four and oh on the plays for the
Daily Juice yesterday, So up three units and we are
right back where we needed to be. We were up
a unit on Monday, down three point two units on Tuesday,
up three units on Wednesday. So we are back up
for the week and we go to Thursday. What is Thursday?

(02:01):
It is the NFL Draft. We've already made three bets. Now,
if you're in Las Vegas, you can't bet today, But
if you're everywhere else, most everywhere else. You guys can
bet today if you have legalized sports gambling. So I'm
gonna give you the picks if you haven't bet them yet.
You might get better numbers like Jackson Dart. You may
get a better number than what we played. You may

(02:23):
get twenty four and a half. You may get twenty
five and a half for Jackson Dart for instance. Others
may be on the late Jalen Millroad news, he's going
to the draft. By the way, the Washington Commanders, what
are they gonna do. So we'll get to our picks
and remind you guys what we've bet so far. I
do have a baseball play and a basketball play. So
how I've kind of structured the juice today is I've

(02:44):
got a one o'clock baseball game that will end right
when the NFL Draft really starts to percolate and people
start talking and really getting going at about four o'clock
or so, and then we get to all the pre
draft coverage and then we get into the draft tonight
at seven o'clock Eastern, and then we have the first round,
and after the first round is over, then we go

(03:05):
into the basketball game late night. So baseball football Basketball.
That's how I've structured today. Now Today, on Thursday, you
will get the Friday podcast early. I'm gonna drop it
at like probably somewhere around like two o'clock Eastern time.
You're gonna get the Friday podcast. So make sure if

(03:27):
you're listening to this, you're looking for Thursday, not listening
for Friday. Okay, So Friday's pod will come out early
because I'm on a plane to Boston where I'm gonna
get in at like eleven thirty, and then I'm driving
up back to New Hampshire where I'm staying for a
couple of days, so that will be late late, late,
and I'm not taping the Juice at one thirty in

(03:48):
the morning after flying six hours not happening, So like
we're not doing that. So that's how the schedule is
going to go. Before I give you the picks for today,
let me remind you guys at the Betting Pros app.
Have you guys downloaded? Are you using it? You should be? Okay,
track your bets. It's an awesome way I track my plays.

(04:09):
The Betting Pros folks, we all track so when you
bet just my plays, you don't have to do that,
But come on, you're betting your own plays. You should
know what the plays are. You should know whether or
not you're going to be able to see are you
up or are you down? Additionally, there is a seven
day trial of Betting Pros Premium available with the code

(04:52):
Google Play for the Betting Pros app, go and download that.
Coming up here today. All right, so let's give you
the first the football plays Jackson Dart under twenty one
and a half at minus one twenty five. Those numbers
have moved. It's now twenty four and a half at
most books at last look. But if you haven't bet that,
I think Jackson Dart gets drafted early. Okay, So it's

(05:14):
rumor season, right So last night, just to give you
an example, the kid for the Giants general manager Joe Shane.
He posted a highlight reel for Jackson Dart on his
Instagram account before he wound up making it go private
as everyone was like, oh my gosh, the Giants are
taking Jackson Dart. He probably is just screwing with everybody.

(05:35):
It's probably just like, oh, watch this and did it
and then his dad got pissed off at him and
said stop it. Don't do that. Now everyone thinks we're
gonna draft Jackson Dart or are they? It would make
sense the Giants in the quarterback. Do they take Jackson
Dart at three? Are they gonna trade out? Are they
gonna trade back? Are they gonna let someone come up
and take Ashton Genty or are they gonna stay pat

(05:56):
and take I don't know, Abdul Carter, who could be
a generational defensive lineman, defensive edge rusher. Okay, so maybe
they take him. I don't know. Everyone's talked about Thibodeau
and going like you already have that guy on the roster,
why are you going to go and get a repeat
of him. Well, maybe they're going to trade him out
to get back into the first round. Who knows what
the Giants are going to do? The point is Jackson

(06:17):
Dart could go to the Giants, Jackson Dart could go
to the Saints, Jackson Dart could go to the Pittsburgh
Steelers at twenty one, or somebody could come up at fifteen, sixteen, seventeen,
eighteen and draft Jackson Dart. Like when we talked on
the podcast before Derek Brown Debro, We had a long
conversation with him about what he heard at the Senior

(06:39):
Bowl about Jackson Dart and how teams secretly loved him
and how he could have gone in the top ten
and he won't see the teens. He'll be taken before that.
He's a quarterback. Everyone's cut of down. I watched a
podcast with Todd McShay tonight last night about how he
thinks that only one quarterback gets drafted in the first round,

(06:59):
which would be un heard of if that were to happen.
It is a week quarterback class doesn't matter normally. Teams
that are quarterback starved are always taking shots in the
first round because you get the extra year. You get
five years when you do that. So it's worth it
to take a flyer on a guy on our rookie
quarterback on our rookie contract, and you don't you know,

(07:19):
you have him for four and he's good. If you
hit on them, you have them for five. That extra
year of control is a big deal. So Jackson dart
to go before pick number twenty two. That was our
first play. The second play was again from our conversation
with debro about what the Washington Commanders need, and they
need a quarterback on defense, and there's a couple of
really good safeties. We took it at nine to one.

(07:42):
I didn't see what the latest number is. But the
Washington Commanders, whether it be first round, second round, just
their first pick in the draft will be a safety.
We got it at nine to one. Is it a flyer, Absolutely,
it's a flyer bet. That's why we took it for
a half a unit. Okay, at plus nine hundred. And
then finally Jalen Millrow to be a first round pick.

(08:02):
I mean, the only way Jalen Milroe is a first
round pick is if Shador Sanders is a second round pick.
And I again, it's the silly season when it comes
to rumors, but all we're hearing is about Shador Sanders
dropping in this draft and that he is not going
to be a top ten pick that he may not
even be a top you know, a first round pick.

(08:22):
That if it gets to the Steelers at twenty one
and they take Jackson Dart or they take Jalen Milroe.
If they take him, Shador Sanders are going to plummet
and he may not get picked to the forties, the fifties.
He could have a just a rock drop if he
gets past the Steelers at twenty one. There's supposedly some

(08:44):
love for Shador in the building by all accounts. But
if the first quarterback is cam Ward going to the Titans,
if the second quarterback is who Dart Milrow and Shador Sanders,
if you believe of the rumors, Shador is not a
lock to go as a second quarterback off the board,

(09:05):
it could very well be Jackson Dart And if it's
Jackson Dart, Milroll could very well be the third quarterback
taking off the board. And then Sanders drops all the
way down. Is it because of Dion maybe? Is it
because of his size? Maybe? Is it because well he's
two cares with the ball maybe, or maybe it's all
rolled up in the same thing and teams are like, no,
thank you, We'll take a pass on you sure, third round,

(09:26):
fourth round, Yeah, but we're not taking you in round one.
We're not taking you in round two. So let's see
what happens with Shador Sanders. But our bet with Jackson
Dart kind of hinges as to what happens with Shador Sanders,
So let's see how that all kind of goes. But
Jalen Milroe to be a first round pick at plus
one point thirty when we played it for a half
a unit, I still like it. I mean, I still

(09:47):
like he's the perfect Lamar Jackson prodigy, you know comp
So if you want the extra year to develop the kid,
because he could fly with the football in his hands
and he runs like a mac truck, if you want
to develop his quarterback ability and you have a chance
to stash him and let him learn for two, three,
four years behind somebody, I mean I would be in

(10:09):
love if I'm a team that feels like my quarterback
is aging and then I need to be transitioning to
the next guy, whoever that next guy might be. I mean,
the Raiders make a ton of sense to me. I mean,
like you have Geno Smith, you know that you're going
to be in need in two years in the quarterback market,
you have Tom Brady there. I think the Raiders would

(10:31):
be so smart to trade back into the first round
to go get Jaln Milroe. Take some of your draft capital,
move back into the first round, and then take your
quarterback in the future, not at six where the Raiders
are no way, but maybe you address offensive line or
cornerback in with the sixth pick and then you trade
back in to take Jalen Milroe. Just something like that.

(10:52):
A team that's going to have an aging quarterback who
hasn't looked at. You know, there's a lot of teams
that are set at quarterback, the Bills, you know, the Chargers,
the Chiefs, the Eagles, they're all set right, But there
are certain teams like the Bucks, like the Ravens, sorry,
the Raiders, excuse me, who have you know, quarterbacks who

(11:12):
are getting up there in age that are gonna be around.
I mean, like Baker Mayfield's not going anywhere for a while,
but eventually, you know, two three years down the road,
Baker's not going to be nearly as good. Same thing
with Gino Smith. So those are the teams that we're
going to be eyeballing to trade back in at twenty
nine thirty thirty one thirty two somewhere in that range.
To take Jaln Milroe to become my first round pick
for US at plus one thirty Okay, So those are

(11:34):
our three plays for us here for the NFL draft
dart under twenty one and a half position. You'll probably
get a better number than that. Now if you want
to trail that, Washington to pick a safety at nine
to one and Mirrol to be a first round pick
at plus one thirty two point twenty five units. A
lot of the I mean, all three of those are flyers.
I'm gonna be honest, Okay, all three of those are

(11:55):
just you know, let's have some fun. We're watching the draft,
let's bet the draft. I'm not committing heavy money to it.
I think it's one of the more difficult things to
bet because people who on the inside know and they
do well. But it's a very few number of people
and they come in with bank rolls and they bury
the books. So why the books normally lose money on
the NFL Draft Because they're rarely outgunned for information, and

(12:19):
they're often outgunned for information on the NFL Draft. But
like I mentioned, what happens before the draft. Well, that's
Garrett Crochet pitching for the Red Sox. And Garrett Crochet
has been tremendous for Boston. He's won five to two,
three nothing, three to one, and then four to three
because the bullpen blew the game. He went six innings
and gave up zero earned runs. He's pitched against the

(12:41):
White Sox twice. He gave up one earned run in
thirteen and one third innings worth of work. The Seattle
offense just scored eight runs and meet the Red Sox
eight to five yesterday on a date on a night
game to a day game. Highly doubt that's going to
happen here for the Mariners, who will be playing at
a ten o'clock start. Time clock start not great, and

(13:01):
they're facing the best pitcher in the American League in
Garrett Crochet, who has a one point one to three
ERA thirty five strikeouts in a point nine to one
whip at home at Fenway Park. Good luck. This is
only his second start, by the way at Fenway Park
this year, which is kind of our sorry third start
sorry at Fenway Park so far this year. He lost
to the Blue Jays six to one, five and two

(13:23):
thirds one urn run. Again not his fault. The bullpen
came in and blew it. This Seattle team thirteen and
eleven kind of a mirror image to how the Red
Sox have started, but they're throwing Brian wu and I'm
sorry Brian Woo's two in one when a three point
one to two era. His road starts have been bad.
He lost three to one to the Blue Jays. He

(13:44):
went seven, give up three earned runs. Let me correct
that not bad, but he lost on the run line.
He lost three to one, and then he lost five
to four. Six innings, four earned runs, five hits given up,
one home run given up in that game against the
San Fransco Giants. On the road home, different story. He's
been great at home six innings, one or and run
against the A's, seven innings, one aar and run against Texas.

(14:07):
So it's kind of a case of, you know, on
the road, Brian Woos a different pitcher, Garrett Crochet at
home run line plus money on Garrett Crochet on the
run line or throwing a unit down on the Red
Sox run line at plus one twenty five for one unit.
Then we go after the draft LA Clippers playing five

(14:27):
to a team in the Nuggets that I think are
gonna have a really hard time here in Game three.
This is going to be a bonker's environment. They split
in Denver, that's bad news. We took the Clippers to
win the series. I'm not backing off of it big
time here for them to win Game three, to get
a commanding lead here of this series against the Nuggets.

(14:52):
And the only way I think we lose this is
if Jokic has a forty point game. Ken he yes,
but given what we saw game two, Kawhi Leonard was
unbelievable in Game two, I think he will be equally
good here in Game three. Maybe not as efficient as
he was with fifteen of nineteen shooting, but I think
he's gonna have a monster game for the Clippers at

(15:13):
home here at the Intuit Dome. This is why they
built this thing. I mean, Gary, I mean Balmer is
gonna be sitting there, you know, beside himself going nuts
in the front row. You've got that crazy fandom, the
wall whatever they call it, or the fans are gonna
be going crazy here tonight. I'll ay the five points.
I don't think this game is gonna be close. Give

(15:33):
me the Clippers minus five for one point one units.
All right, so our plays for tonight dart under twenty
one and a half. Draft position Washington to draft to
safety Milroll to be a first round pick. Clippers lay
in five against the Nuggets in Game three, and the
Red Sox on the run line up against the Seattle
Mariners at plus one twenty five. Remember the Friday Morning
