Speaker 1 (00:14):
What's up, guys? How are you happy? Sunday?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Welcome into the Father's Day episode of The Daily Juice podcast.
My name is Matt Perrault. You guys can follow me
across all of my socials. More on Father's Day here
in just one second. But just you gotta cop the outfit. So,
in pure typical forty eight year old dad fashion, I
found my favorite old, stained, kind of ratty old T shirt.
(00:41):
I'm wearing a hat for something that's a little bit
weird because I live in a landlocked state. So I'm
wearing a hat about the beach, trying to do as
many Dad cliche things as I could have on. I'm
wearing the glasses got Dad. All of our eyesights, you know,
all of our eyes tend to go here. So the
outfit today is for Father's Day. Maybe it's just to
(01:05):
distract from what happened yesterday, because that might have been
the worst day. I don't know if I've had a
worst day than what happened yesterday. For the Daily Juice,
I had bad days. I don't remember in oho and
four and I don't remember being down nearly five units
on one day. I don't remember if I've had it
in the four years. Okay, you guys can correct me
(01:28):
and you can tell me what I what the worst
day has been. But that was pretty darn bad. Red
Sox go for three. Pickard and Bob nowhere near their
saves and can't Im was horrible.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
In the front.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
He was good in the back. He beat Fox in
the back, but he did not beat him on the front.
He had five bowgies on the front.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I mean he boa blow was he bad?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Played better? But he was awful in the first part
of that round yesterday. So we're going to have a
loser week. There's no debate, like it's just a matter
of how bad can I how much can I win
today to make up for what has happened. But we're
not fully into fade Matt territory, but we're getting close.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
And this is what happens.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I mean every summer now, for the last couple of summers,
I go into this you know, swoon and we give
back a lot of the stuff that we built up
because we're forced to bet. You know, hockey's been good,
so having a bad night on ice? Did you watch
the game? What was that game? Edmonton?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
What was that? That was truly one of the.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Most embarrassing performances in a huge moment that I can remember.
Did anybody except Connor McDavid want to win the Cup
in Edmonton?
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Because I think you're dead. I think you're done.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
You got worked at home five two. If you bet
the under that game, bless you. I don't know how
that game went over. That game was a dead under
five to two final. Are you serious? What are we doing?
Five goals in the third period. It's disgusting. I mean,
this series is drunk. It's five and oh to the
(03:17):
over but no shots on goal. So I mean again,
I thought that it might go over, but that would
go over because of shots, intensity, back and forth action.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Is Edmonton tired? Like?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
What was that? So that was completely a wrong handicap?
But you mean I doubled down, I got aggressive and
it burned me and okay, fine, but I had done
well in the in the Cup final. We've done well
in hockey this year. But like tonight, there's no today,
there's no hot there's no basketball, there's no NBA Finals today,
it's tomorrow. What so like it's a wonky schedule because
(03:51):
we're running out of things to bet. Unfortunately, we're limited
one hockey game, one basketball game. Yes, there's baseball going on,
but did you see what happened yesterday in baseball?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
What was yesterday?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yesterday was nuts in Major League baseball. This whole week
has been nuts in Major League Baseball. Just unpredictable things
happening left and right. So you know the Rockies suck.
Keep betting against them on the run line. Okay, you
want to do that, go ahead, but it's Sunday. I
hate betting baseball on Sunday. So here's what I am
doing for the Daily Juice. I'm going to bet what
I want to bet and what I want to watch.
(04:21):
I have two golf bets. They're both going to miss, probably,
but we're one and one on the US Open. Let's
see what we can do. Two bets for the US
Open and one baseball bet. And that's it, and we'll see,
hopefully I can, you know, make a dent here, win
a unit or so and make a dent in the
record and start.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
It fresh tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
We'll probably end up having a losing month because of
what I did this week, because of how bad this
week was, Will probably killed the month, which is not crazy.
He didn't kill the year but it killed the month
of June. So just one of those ouch type experience
is a big smack to the bank role. But it's
why we have bank roll management and why we'd be smart,
(05:03):
and you know we don't go crazy. But before I
give you the place, let me say a couple of
quick things here, and for you young kids, listen up
for a second, because I think it's important because a
lot of you probably think the way I thought, and
a lot of you probably have some designs. When you
say I'm not getting married or I'm not having kids,
I don't need to have kids, I don't want to
have kids.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
I was just like you.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I was the same person on July thirtieth, twenty fourteen,
my daughter was born, and on July twenty ninth, twenty fourteen,
I was a pretty self centered, selfish jerk. You can
use a variety of different words. I'm still just I'm
probably like I'm a quasi self centered, obnoxious jerk now,
(05:44):
But I was really bad before my daughter was born.
And I cannot stress to you how moving it is
to have your own child and how reward it is.
And as somebody who does not have a great relationship
with his own father, who has been estranged from my
(06:08):
own dad for a long time. I didn't know how
it would feel to be a dad. I didn't know
how it would feel to be called dad, and I've
never been called anything greater than that. And the relationship
I have with my daughter is the most important thing
in my life.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
And I didn't think it was going to happen. I
didn't want it.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
To happen because I had seen previous people make mistakes.
I had seen the way my mom and dad had
me at twenty and eighteen, they had known each other
for six weeks. There were summer romance that turned into me.
And I was born in the summer or the spring
of nineteen seventy seven, and back then.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
What do you do.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
You get married and then you have a second kid
and you try to have a family, and then it
doesn't work. And things were very difficult, you know, for
both my mom and my dad, for a variety of
reasons which I won't get into here. But you know,
when you're young. I mean, my mom was eighteen years
older than me and she still is my whole life.
So think about that, as you know a teenager, people
(07:10):
asking you is your sister single.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
No, that's my mom. Man, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (07:15):
So that's what type of life's life I had growing up,
and so I was turned off by the idea of
family and turned off by the idea of having my
own child. So I'm here to tell you that we
don't talk enough about it in today's world. I think
we talk about financial commitments and the trouble of bringing
(07:37):
a child into the world and how messed up this
world is and what are we doing with it, And
I think we forget to talk about and I don't
even care if you're married or not. I'm just talking
about bringing a child into the world that you want
to be its father, you want to be the baby's
life coach. That's not really what we are. Parents were
(07:59):
life coaches. We're trying to teach our children how to
you know, exist, what to do, and we fail every day.
We fail as parents, as moms and dads, and we
always fail. But the difference is we get up and
we want to try to be better the next day.
The difference is we're trying to do the right thing
the next time. We have the opportunity to do that
(08:21):
for our kids. Because man, that first time I messed
up that second time. Now I got it again. He
asked of this of me, and I just didn't respond
or I wasn't ready for it. Right, That's what being
a great parent is. It's just trying to be better
each day, just like working out in a lot of ways, right,
trying to be one percent better every day. It's the
(08:41):
same thing. It's how I try to be with a dad.
I want to be one percent better every day, be
a better dad tomorrow than I was today. So if
you're in that boat, you can harken back to this
rant as to what becoming a father meant to me
and has done for my life. And look at my
marriage didn't work to my daughter's mom. Doesn't matter, It
(09:04):
really has no bearing. We're co parenting and it doesn't matter.
It obviously has pitfalls. And I'm not saying that a
divorce isn't a monumental thing.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
It is.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
But what I mean by that is that you're still
just as important to your child as you were before
and after the divorce. And if you've gone through that
and maybe you're not seeing your kid as much as
you should, get back into your kid's life because your
kid wants you to be part of their life, regardless
of what they say, or how they act or what
they do. Deep down inside, they want you to care
(09:33):
and be there as much as possible. So be there
for your kids. And then on the other side of it,
you know, if you have a great relationship with your dad,
that's awesome. And I hope you enjoy this day. And
I hope you have an awesome day watching the US
Open or watching whatever you're going to watch, you know,
whatever you're into baseball together, go to a game, go
play around a golf with your dad. You know, enjoy
(09:53):
this day. If you are a dad or you're not,
you have a dad, enjoy it. Because Father's Day is special.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
You know.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
We spend a lot of time on Mother's Day, rightfully so.
But this day, the US Open being on this day
every years, it's pretty darn cool. Before I give you
the picks and again ranting and raving, I apologize. But

I want to bet and when I'm watching. Okay, so
this is sort of like I'm ice cold, so I
(11:04):
might as well have fun and enjoy it while I'm
watching Adam Scott, let's go with the old timers. Okay,
I'm forty eight years old. Adam Scott's from my generation.
He's the only guy on the front page of the
leader board that's got any real experience in terms of
winning major golf championships and being great. The guy's got
to stand up putter because his back's gone. Okay, but
(11:24):
he's played his butt off in the first three rounds
of this tournament. Adam Scott is three to one to
win the tournament. Okay, is he gonna win the tournament?
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
He's one stroke back of Sam Burns at the sort
of play. All right, there's a head to head at
Circus Sports in Vegas, Adam Scott over Carlos Ortez, who
is even par in three strokes back of him. It's
minus one sixteen. I don't mind that play, but rather
than getting involved with a head to head I prefer
(11:55):
what Adam Scott will shoot today. Seventy two and a
half is what the projected final round score for Adam
Scott is from an over understandpoint, seventy two and a half.
It's pretty much the same juice on either side. This
is a par seventy. Adam Scott shot seventy seventy and
sixty seven. So the prevailing thought is Adam Scott's gonna
(12:18):
blow up today and Adam Scott's going to fall to
the pressure and.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Not be able to I ain't here in any of that.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
On Father's Day, no way, I'm all all board the
Adam Scott train. Let's go Adam Scott under seventy two
and a half. It's not that expensive. Let's shoot par
seventy again or seventy one. Okay, he shoot one, even
two over seventy two. Just don't blow up. I will
(12:46):
be mad if he blows up. But I'm fine with
going down with the ship and betting on a guy
that I want to see do well and a guy
that I'm hoping does well. Adam Scott under seventy two
and a half. Final round score for him at minus
one fifteen for Adam Scott. Circus Sports in Las Vegas,
Circus Sports across the country's got that for you guys,
(13:08):
that too the other guy. I'm cheering for the other
guy for my time, my time in my neck of
the woods. The captain of the Ryder Cup Old Time,
Keegan Bradley Keek and Bradley is tied for twenty first
at the moment. The books think he's gonna stink today too.
The books have him blowing up. I disagree. I don't
(13:30):
think Keek and Bradley's gonna blow up. He's tied for
twenty first. He's even money to finish in the top twenty.
You can get this at DraftKings. But don't bet there. No,
they do dead heat rules. We ain't doing dead heat rules,
so no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
You can bet at.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Caesar's other books as well. Keegan Bradley even money, top twenty.
I think Keegan Bradley again, just like Adam Scott. We're
just predicting that the old guy's gonna fall in his
face and not be able to handle the pressure of
a fourth round at the majors. Keegan Bradley played the
(14:06):
back atrociously yesterday. He was great on the front, all
parts solid, nine holes, nine parts.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Then he went.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Bogie par bogie, par par bogie, birdie birdie, bogie thirty
seven on the way in seventy two. He shot What
will he need to shoot to get in the top twenty,
probably seventy if he does what he did on Friday
and shoots a seventy, which he had to shoot to
make the cut because he had gone three over on Thursday.
(14:38):
So bad round, good round, bad round yesterday. How about
a good round Keegan Bradley to come in the top
twenty even money. Don't bet it with ties, no dead
heat rules. Find a book that doesn't have it. But
Keegan Bradley coming in the top twenty. Let's hope he
plays like the front nine and now like the back
nine from yesterday and keeps rolling.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Two was much better. He played the front a little
bit crazy.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
He went par par bogie double birdie, birdie birdie par
par thirty five. Kind of a crazy way to shoot
even par on the front, but okay, and then he
had two birdies two bogies on the back and the
rest of pars on Thursday, I know, seventy.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Thirty five in thirty five or out thirty five in
I'm good with it. Do it again, Keegan.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
I think even par gets him into the top twenty,
because I think a lot of players are gonna are
gonna fall by the wayside. So those are the two
US Open bets here today on a Father's Day, Adam
Scott under seventy two and a half final round score
and Keegan Bradley to come in the top twenty at
even money. Finally to Major League Baseball. So we have
(15:47):
only one game that I'm really gonna want. I'm gonna
bet the Red Sox. You don't think I'm betting the
Red Sox for a sweep of the Yankees. Of course
I'm betting that. But I'm not gonna give that to
you guys, because there's a complete homer pick and the
Red Sox are facing Max Free like it's the Yankees
should win this game. The Yankees can't hit all of
a sudden, they can't score. They scored three runs all
off the bullpen late, two in the seventh and one
(16:07):
on the ninth. For the yesterday, Red Sox scored four runs.
Hundred Dobbins was outstanding, shut him down completely six innings,
no runs given up, one hundred Dobbins. Red Sox are
now four and one against the Yankees and they go
for the sweep to go to five and one against
the Yankees. So like New York should absolutely win this game.
I'm not betting on the Yankees on Father's Day. Get
(16:28):
out here. It's my team at home to sweep the
damn Yankees. One hundred percent on the Red Sox. But
I'm not giving that out because that's not even it's
the wrong bet. Okay, the better the Red Sox money
line is a wrong play. So if your Yankee fan
be happy she bet the Yankees today, they're the better
bet so Sunday. On top of that, they're the better
bet with Max Freed on the mound. The Yankees record
(16:50):
with Max Freed.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
On the mound.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Let me look at that, because it's it's quite impressive.
He mean, he's been He's nine and one himself with
a one point eight to four ERA. But the team
and Max Freed starts one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven,
twelve and two. The Yankees are twelve and two in
games started by Max Freed. To give you an idea, Okay,
(17:11):
so should you bet the Yankees?
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Yeah? Bet the Yankees? They should win? Will I? Hell? No,
I'm betting the betting the Red Sox. What a I do? Officially, though,
we're gonna go to the Sunday.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Night baseball game. The Dodgers woke up. I'm really tempted
to bet Dodgers run line. Really tempted to bet Rodgers
the Dodgers run line. Here in this game, they scored
eleven runs. Yesterday, shohe went deep, hit two home runs
in a game that he had to have. Kershaw was great,
but Choehy hadn't driven in a run in ten games,
so he had two home runs.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
He had been on a drought. He crushed it.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Ten game homerless streak in a ten game no RBI streak.
That was the longest streak he had gone since since
joining the Dodgers. So he's awoken, you know. When he
gets hot, look out the whole lineup hit yesterday and
the game today well again, I think the Dodgers win big.
Dustin may goes. But Kyle Harrison's been not horrible. He's
(18:09):
a lefty. The Dodgers hit lefties, they absolutely. Will Smith
hits four nineteen off lefties, Tiascar Hernandez hits three eighty
three off lefties, show Hey hits three zero nine off lefties.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Freddie Freeman hits two eighty eight off lefties.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
They hit lefties, okay, even Mookie hits two sixty six
off lefties. So this is a lineup that can hit
leftenant pitching, and it hits a hit him pretty well.
Kyle Harrison's been pretty good on the road. He's nine
to forty five on the at Holmi alright, but on
the road two sixty five five earned and seventeen innings
worth of work for him twenty three year old lefty.
The team has won three straight games in which he
(18:44):
has started beating the Rockies, Padres and Marlins, and he's
won five of his last six starts as well. The
team is one beating the Royals. Diamacks lost three to
nothing to the Washington Nationals. Not really his fault. He
went four innings, two earned runs. I've just got no
run support on this so I think he will probably
(19:05):
get touched up for a couple of runs here and
then the bullpen will come in, and I think the
Dodgers can get after anyone's bullpen and score a bunch
of runs. And on the flip side, I mean, I
do expect the Giants offense to be able to contribute
off Dustin may who hasn't been outstanding. I mean Dustin
Maysira at home is three two and one record. It's
given up three home runs at home, eleven earned runs
(19:27):
in thirty three and a third innings worth of work
eight seven final in ten against the Padres in his
last start four to three, nine to five, So two
of the last three games have gone over and he
hasn't been mowing people down five earned runs, two earned runs,
three earn runs, So I think the Giants will be
able to score. I think the best player in the
(19:48):
game is the over I know overs in baseball right now,
I have not been great, but I just they scored
eleven the Dodgers did by themselves yesterday. They could score
nine runs by themselves tonight on Sunday Night Baseball. If
Showhy is hot and driving in runs and again, I
think the Giants will score. So I'm gonna play the
over over nine for the Giants and the Dodgers tonight
(20:09):
on Sunday Night Baseball. All right, so plays for today
Adam Scott under seventy two and a half for his
final round score in the fourth round, he can Bradley
de finish in the top twenty. He's tied for twenty
first at the moment, the sort of play even money
on that play in Dodgers and the Giants over nine
at minus one point fifteen four Sunday Night Baseball. My
name is Matt Peroltz. You guys can follow a miracosts.
