Speaker 1 (00:14):
What's up, guys? How are you welcome into a Sunday
morning episode of the Daily Juice podcast. My name is
Matt Parolt. You guys can follow me across all of
my socials at Sports Talk met and we're back after
a losing day one and two. On the day, we
get the Ohio State bet right, Alabama get smoked, and
I learned something about LSU and Clemson. On top of

(00:37):
that huge win for the Tigers, the LSU Tigers, they
win seventeen ten against Clemson. So generally speaking, I'm known
as an SEC guy, like I am pretty much very
pro SEC. But in the first week of the college
football season, I was more inclined to fade the SEC

(00:58):
than follow. And here's why. In the realm of nil
and in the realm of where we are in college football,
the Big Ten has had a pretty good run when
it comes to grabbing players, elevating players, and coaching players up.
For the last two years in the new nil world,

(01:18):
the Big Ten's been pretty good at it. And so
in Ohio State, Texas, I took Ohio State, Auburn, Baylor,
I took Baylor Clemson versus LSU. I took Clemson. So
I went one in two with those picks. I got
Ohio State right, Auburn dead wrong, Clemson wrong. And the

(01:39):
reason was, well, one, Baylor was at home and Clemson
was at home, and I and the teams at home.
In early in the early part of this college football season,
teams on the road have done pretty poorly home teams
that have done very well. So my faults on that.
And look, it's week one, so there's a feeling out process.
But I can tell you after the first week of
college football that the SEC is back. Okay, Yes, Ohio

(02:02):
State beat Texas, but I wasn't high on Texas going
into the year. I thought they were overrated and I
think Arch Manning has got a long way to go.
So I was not surprised by the Ohio State win
over Texas. But the rest of the conference. Yes, Alabama
is back to the Alabama that I covered for five years,
in which I saw Mike Price and Mike Dubos and

(02:24):
then his friend Chione and just a litany of coaches
come in and be fired quickly. Kellen de boor Is,
I know his buyout is enormous, but I mean they'll
work something out. It's not working. You cannot lose the
games he has lost, and you can't lose to Florida

(02:45):
State like that. That was embarrassing. You can't have a
quarterback from Boston College go ahead and talk smack all
off season and then run his mouth during the game
because he backed it all up against your defense. Alabama
got embarrassed in Tallahassee. So that's that just is not working.

(03:06):
And Nick Saban, I mean it's not like Nick is dead.
Nick is still alive. Nick is still on campus. And
Kellen de Boorr was supposed to have an incredible recruiting
class and he did and they did nothing with it.
And that's an embarrassing loss. Now, the season's not over,
but wo boy, that was an embarrassing loss for Alabama.

(03:27):
So I am inclined to ride the SEC in the
coming weeks, but not today. But not today. So before
I give you guys the picks I've got, I can't
bet baseball. It's Sunday, Okay. I didn't bet baseball, though
I did bet the Brewers yesterday. Did you see the
Brewers line? That was ridiculous. We talked about it during

(03:48):
the discord chat. I gave you Bama minus seven in
the first half that lost. I gave you the Brewers
at plus one twenty five that hit, so technically one
in one, but it was comfitable thanks to the Brewers.
That price was ridiculous again. Quinn Priester starts a game
in which the Brewers win. That is undefeated in June,

(04:09):
undefeated in July, and undefeated in August. With Quinn Priester
on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers. It's unbelievable. But
another win for Milwaukee against the Toronto Blue Jays. But
I'm not betting baseball because we didn't bet baseball Friday,
Saturday Sunday. It's Sunday not betting baseball. So I've got
two bets in one game. I don't always like to

(04:30):
do that, but it's the biggest game of the day.
So let's get a little committed here. And right now
we are nine and eight on the week. So I went,
where did I go? I went two in one, three
and oh ozho and three one in two, two and
one one in two so far on the week. So

(04:52):
if I go two and one or better today, I
have a winning week. If I go one in two,
it's a flat week. Go zero and three it's a
losing week for us, so the week is writing on
these picks here today for us on a Sunday. Before
we do the pick slips, remind you about the offer
going on right now with Betting pros Premium seven day

(05:14):
free trial. Download the bedding pros app and you can
use the code Juice for a seven day free trial.
Check out the prop bet cheat sheet and the prop
bet Analyzer. I will say one quick thing, but use
the code Juice. Download the Betting pros app, Betting pros
Premium prop bet cheat sheet and analyzer and picks as well,
and other tools you can create with the Betting pros app.

(05:35):
We're about to launch a new version of the Betting
pros app this week. And I saw some people talking
about the prop bet cheat sheet and the propt analyzer
and you guys having a tough time finding winners. Okay,
So here's a little tip you guys should be using.
There are things at the top of the prop bet
cheat sheet, okay, So when you get your seven day
free trial, go to the prop bet cheat sheet. There's

(05:58):
ways of sorting out certain plays, okay. And one thing
I would really recommend is looking at the vig and
looking at the stars. I wouldn't play anything that's on
a four or a five star play, and I would
definitely sort out a lot of the bets. I mean,
there are hundreds of bets available every day, but only

(06:18):
play a four or a five star bet. Definitely sort
through and play around with it. On top of that,
don't go in in the first two days of having
the prop beat analyzer. Don't bet until you have your
own system down. Do you know how many different plays
I go through before I give you, guys the prop
bet cheat cheet plays. I mean, like I look at
like twenty five different markets before I get to that,

(06:42):
and then I play one or two a day. I
don't play four or five. Okay. So you've got to
be selective, you've got to be smart, and you have
to have a system in place to know what to
sift through to find the best bets. Okay. So, like,
understand what we're doing here with the prop bet cheat
sheet and the prop bat analyzer. When you get that
seven day free trial, don't just start firing bets in

(07:03):
day one or two. Okay, Like work something you don't
work it a little bit, See where you're at, See
what you need to improve upon, see what works, what
doesn't work for you, and then bet. Once you've got
a good system in place, then bet. So that's my
advice for the profit analyzer. All right, let's start with
VA Tech and South Carolina. MEI, Mercedes Betts. If this

(07:24):
game was being played at William Bryce, I would lay
the points here with South Carolina. But this has been
a steady march on VA Tech. Number open up at
nine and a half. It's now down to seven and
a half or seven, depending on the book you're looking at. Look,
Lenora Sellers is an unbelievable player. And I really do
like Shane Biemer a lot. Okay, I think he is

(07:45):
a good coach. I think he's trying to build something
at South Carolina. And look he's taking on his dad's school. Okay,
this is Virginia Tech, this is Frank Beemer's school. You
don't think that VA Tech is going to be up
for this game. This is crazy, kind of similar to
what I talked about yesterday with Ohio State in Texas. Like,
if you're gonna give me this many points, I don't

(08:07):
know how I don't take it. Okay, I know VA
Tech was not good last year. I know they've had
some really big turnover but I think this is a
chance for VA Tech and very similar to other schools
that have been able to do some good things with
coaching hires in the NAL world and kind of flipping
things around and finding a way. And they've got a
really good quarterback in Drones who I think is as

(08:30):
good as Sellers, and this is a battle of two
great quarterbacks. And I just don't think this is a
game that gets away from one school or the other.
I think this is a one score win on one side.
So if this was you know, VA Tech laying seven
and a half, I would take the points with South Carolina.
It is South Carolina laying seven and a half, I

(08:52):
think we have to take the points with Virginia Tech.
Just expecting this game to be tight, this game to
come down to the wire, and Sellers is unbelievable. I mean,
slowing him down will be incredibly difficult. He can run,
he could pass, He very well could be a Heisman
Trophy finalist, and if he stays healthy, South Carolina could
go really deep. And in the games where they've lost,

(09:13):
I mean, or I didn't play well, Sellers got hurt
in a couple of games. And you know, they gave
a hell of a scare to Alabama last year. And
this South Carolina team is really really good. And I
mean the Hokies when they're dogs, this is a tough
team to fade, just because they love that underdog role.
They play it well. Give me the seven and a half.

(09:33):
I'm taking the Hokies. They might win the game outright,
but give me the seven and a half. Vatech plus
seven and a half for one point one units bet
number two. Notre Dame and a very interesting game against Miami.
Now Miami's at home. The number was three. This number

(09:56):
has been two and a half or three, depending on
what we could look at this number. There's been three
or two and a half all summer. Okay, here's the
thing about Notre Dame that I find to be really interesting.
This is still a team that's gonna run the football.
And initially I was going to take the points with
a home dog and take Miami. I was initially on Miami,

(10:19):
and then I kind of started to waiver, and I
started to get a little bit concerned about the defense
for Miami and about Mario Crystal Ball with Carson Beck
there's a lot of potential here for Miami, but I
think that's the word, it's potential, and that's worrying me

(10:40):
a lot here out of the gate because of what
the Irish are going to do. I don't like Marcus Freeman. Okay,
I'm not a huge fan of his. I think they
can lay eggs early in seasons, like they did last
year by losing at home to Northern Illinois. But I
think Marcus Freeman grew up a little bit by taking
this team to the College Football National Championship Game. And
I think you've got a Miami team that's trying to

(11:03):
figure out who they are. I don't think they're of
the upper restalant. I do think they're a little overrated.
And while I have liked taking home teams, I think
the Irish. Their ability to run the football I think
is going to be massive here. And I think this
is such a big rivalry game for both these teams.
I just think the defense for Notre Dame and the

(11:25):
offensive line for Notre Dame is going to be the
big difference. And I think Beck's going to need some
time with this offense to get rolling and to get
comfortable in his new setting. This is much very similar.
Even though Beck is a very proven quarterback, Arts Manning
is going to be good, he needs some time in
some seasoning. This is not a road start. This is
a home start for Carson Beck, but I think he
needs some time in seasoning with this team, with these teammates,

(11:47):
to face a team with the level of Notre Dame.
I just don't think it's going to be a good setting.
So it's only two and a half. This is a
three point win. Again, the pros haven't done great. The
line move has not been great. Look at some of
these numbers. Take the Ohio State game. You know, the
professionals haven't done great this weekend. So I'm not really
afraid of the line move and the fact that we've

(12:08):
gone down. I do think the Irish money will show
up late. I think this thing very well could close
over three and a half, but I don't want it
to be three or three and a half. I want
to lay the two and a half with Notre Dame
Irish minus two and a half on the road at Miami.
And equally, I think the defense and I think the
running game for the Irish will keep this game as

(12:31):
a low scoring first half. The total is twenty four.
I don't think either team gets off to a really
fast start. Again, I watched Texas in Ohio State, and
I'm like, hmm, this could be a similar situation between
Miami and Notre Dame. A lot of nerves, a lot
of attention. It's a standalone game. It's a primetime game
on Sunday night. This is, you know, the biggest where

(12:52):
normally the biggest audience of the week hangs out watching
Sunday night football. They're going to be hanging out watching
college Sunday night follo ball. And I think there might
be some nerves here for both sides that keep this
game somewhat low scoring. It's twenty four. I mean, let's
take like a fourteen to seven or seventeen to seven
type of first half, and let's have this thing come

(13:14):
in here and fall. You know, I guess twenty four
to twenty seventeen seven, twenty four, But so it's you know,
let's not go there, but thirteen to three, thirteen to six,
somewhere in that range here where we get a lot
of field goals and not a lot of touchdowns. Twenty
four first half under twenty four for Notre Dame in Miami.
I think some of these new coordinators, coaches quarterbacks up

(13:36):
against these defenses. And frankly, I'm not sure how much
Miami is going to score against Notre Dame, so it
could be ten nothing for that matter. In the first
half here again, it was an easy rock and chair
type of first half under for Texas in Ohio State.
Let's hopefully have the same type of thing here for
Notre Dame and Miami. Okay, so plays for today Nor
Dame Miami under twenty four for one point one units.

(13:57):
Notre Dame for the game minus two and a half
half up against Miami, and VA Tech plus seven and
a half against South Carolina. That's a tight one score
game for one side or the other for either South
Carolina or Virginia Tech. I think South Carolina can win.
I just don't like them to cover that seven and
a half points at one US one ten for one
point one units. My name is Matt Parol. You guys
