with me Matt Perrault at Sports Talk Matt. That is
my handle across all socials at Sports Talk Matt.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
We're still up for the week.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
That's the good news. The bad news is back to
back losing nights. We go one in two again. The
raised money line was the play of the day, so
we got that right. We're now seventeen seven and one
in the month of June for our play of the day.
But the Cubs and the Cardinals eight nothing really really,
Saint louis not a single run you can score. We
(00:53):
get one run there, We're good. Seattle in Minnesota was
the worst bet of the day. Those are two nothing
win for the Twins, so nowhere near getting close to that.
But one and two day down one point twenty five units,
so since we went three and oh on Monday, up
but slightly better than being down as we head towards
a Thursday. So today, for the fourth consecutive day, we
(01:16):
must bet baseball.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Can we get to the weekend? Please?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
But here we are with three games. I'm not betting totals,
so I'm gonna try my hand. The only bet I
got right yesterday was a money line, So I'm gonna
try my hand on three money line plays for us
here today. Let's see how it goes. I normally don't
do this, but it's Thursday. There's a very small Major
League Baseball slate, and there's nothing else to bet on,
(01:44):
like nothing else to bet on, So got to get
to the weekend, to get to Saturday and Sunday and
other things to bet on. But right now, all we
have is Major League Baseball to play. So three money
line plays coming at you momentarily. But first reminder about

(03:09):
let's start talking about the race, and let's start where
we were yesterday. It was the bet that we got
right yesterday. I'm gonna go right back to it here
with Tampa. Why because the Royals can't score, like can't score.
Their offense at home is so bad. One run in
two games so far for the Royals, one run two games.
(03:33):
They're back to their old tricks where they simply cannot
score any runs. They're nineteen and twenty one at home
and they've lost four consecutive games now, not all at home,
but four straight games after winning four in a row
against the Rangers and the Padres. They lost, remember that
ridiculous losing streak where they are just getting destroyed. They're
(03:57):
thirty eight and forty two. But the problem with that
misser offense. So during this losing streak, one two, one,
zero run scored. I mean, they just can't get any
offense generated. Shane Baz going today.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
For the Rays.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
He's one of their better pitchers. On the road, he's
better than at home.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
On the road.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
He is a three point five to seven ERA, a
two to one record, two thirty four posing batting average
is fourteen earned runs given up in thirty five and
a third innings worth of work the team. With Baz starting,
the team has won six consecutive games in which he
has started, and they've won seven of eight. Let's make
(04:43):
it eight of nine here. I don't think that we
got to worry too much about the offense for the Royals.
Michael Lorenzen is going on the other side. He's not bad.
He's got a three thirty ERA at home, a two
and two record. You know, game started. He has won
three of the last footeen, has won three to the
last four games in which he has started. But he's
(05:04):
had some rough starts. I mean mostly on the road,
where he gave up two to San Diego, two to
the White Sox, and seven to the Cardinals. But those
games were ten to seven, seven to five, and six
five wins. That's when the offense was working for the
For the Royals, it's not right now. It's more like
their last home game he pitched and against the A's,
(05:26):
a four to nothing loss, six innings, three earned runs.
It wasn't Michael the Renzin's fault. The offense did nothing.
Just don't think the offense is gonna do anything here today.
I'm gonna take the money line. Let's go ahead and
close out the sweep here, and let's even it up.
The Royals swept the Rays in Tampa. Now the Rays
will sweep the Royals in Kansas City here today, eighteen
(05:49):
to twelve record on the road for Tampa. Let's just
take the money line here. It is a slight minus
one twenty, nothing too expensive for the money line at
Mis one twenty for one point two units that number two.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
And there is kind of a theme here.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
If you guys haven't noticed, I'm betting games that we've
been betting all week just because I have. I've been
watching these games and getting a pretty good feel of it.
Showed to Imanaga is back on the mound here for
the Cubs. That isn't always a good thing when a
guy comes back. He has not pitched for the Cubs
since the fourth of May. I tend to fade guys
(06:28):
making their first start, coming back and making their first
start on the road against their arch rivals and a
lineup that's been pretty hot before last night when they
were shut out. On top of the fact they were
shut out, I expect the hitting shoes to be brought
here by the Cardinals up against the Cubs, and in Moonaga.
(06:49):
While he is one of their best pitchers, and he's
been great on the road with a one point one
nine ERA, a two to one record, opposing betting average
of two to oh two, only three earned runs given
up in twenty two and two thirds innings worth of work.
That was all before the injury. For Imanaga, what does
he look like coming up here today? What would he
(07:11):
look like making the start here today? He's had a
bad hamstring that's kept him on the il. Let's see
what he looks like today in what that bullpen looks like?
How quickly the Cubs bullpen has to come into the game.
It's polente going for the Cardinals. He is okay four
point three four ERA at home, three to one record,
(07:33):
two forty five per bounding average, eighteen earned and thirty
seven and a third innings worth of work. But the
good news is the team has won the last two
games in which he has started, one at home, one
on the road, eight five win on the road at Milwaukee,
six to one win at home against Cincinnati. In his
last start, he went six innings, zero earned runs. Let's
get that again out of this sky. Let's get a
(07:54):
good six innings, no earn runs here after getting blanked yesterday.
I like the Cardinals to bounce back. And the Cardinals
are at home, and we get plus money on this.
I got a home dog for the Cardinals, who are
twenty six and sixteen at home, and the Cubs are
twenty two and eighteen on the road.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
And well, they have lost the two of the three.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Games that we've played so far here during this series,
and they won yesterday. But a chance to bounce back
here with a guy making his first start in over
a month, a month and a half for im and aga,
give me the Cardinals at home, Cardinals plus money Saint
Louis plus one twenty two for one unit. And speaking
of being shut out, I do like betting on teams
(08:38):
the next day after they get shut out. I think
that they bounce back and they get angry because they
didn't score any runs, and they get yelled at by
their manager, and they go and work extra in the cage,
and they just are more focused the next day when
they get shut out like that. I mean, no major
league roster likes to get shut out. So two nothing
for the Twins, a shutout win for Minnesota yesterday in
(09:02):
somewhat surprising fashion for Seattle because cal Raley didn't do anything,
hasn't anything for a couple of games now after being
red hot. But we have Woods Richardson on the mound
against Hancock, and I understand why the Twins are favored.
I mean, they're twenty one and seventeen at home, and
Woods Richardson's been pretty good at home.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I mean he's been a good pitcher actually at home.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Era is not great four point five six with a
two and two record, but thirteen earned runs and twenty
five and two thirds innings worth of work. The one
interesting thing about him is that the team has lost
three consecutive games in which he has started. Now, this
was in the swoon of June here for the Twins
nothing two to one, sixteen to four, and the home
(09:46):
starts Milwaukee nine to nothing. Last home start Texas. The
start before that, sixteen to four, he gave up six
earned runs in four and two thirds innings worth of work.
So overall he's been okay, but recently he's been bad
at home. On the other side, Emerson Hancock is why
the team is a dog five point one five ERA
(10:10):
on the road, a two to one record, opposing betting
average of two to eighty seven. Yikes, twenty one earned
runs in thirty six and two thirds innings worth of work,
and the team has lost. This is not a good
thing for the bet. The team has lost four of
the last five games in which Emerson Hancock has started
ten to seven six nothing, eight four three two nine three.
(10:30):
I don't hate an overplay in this game. Okay, if
you don't want to bet money line and you want
to bet over, I don't mind it.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
It's eight and a half.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Now. Unfortunately, this game, you know it was over over
under Do we go back to being on the over
side of things. Maybe I bet the OV yesterday it
didn't hit. I don't like making the same bet twice.
It's a one o'clock Eastern times start, twelve ten Central
time start in Minneapolis.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
This game will be on.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
The MLB Network, by the way, for this and against
see Cal Rawley play on national TV again. I'm just
gonna take the Mariners to bounce back after being shut.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Out to win the game. Okay, we know.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
The Twins haven't been good. They've been rough three straight
losses in the game started by Wood Richardson. I know
Hancock is right there with him, But I'm gonna take
the offense for Seattle to hit the baseball here today
in a drive in a bunch of runs and probably
a high scoring game most likely over eight and a
half is a good play. But I'll take Mariners on
the money on the money line at plus one oh
four for one unit to win here and take three
(11:30):
games out of four at Seattle Mariners at Minnesota. Rather,
the Mariners currently leading the season series four games to two.
All right, so three plays for us here on a Thursday.
The Rays on the money line at minus one twenty
go ahead and get a sweep out of them against
Kansas City on the road Saint Louis on the money
(11:51):
line at plus one twenty two at home against the
Cubs and Inmanaga in Seattle plus one oh four on
the money line on the road for one unit Seattle
on the road up against the Minnesota Twins.
