Speaker 1 (00:14):
Lots of guys.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
How are you welcome into a Tuesday morning episode of
the Daily JUWS podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
My name is Matt Parolt.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
You guys can follow me across all of my socials
at Sports Talk Matt, and this podcast being brought to
you by your friends at DraftKings. Okay, I'm going to
tell you here at the top that I'm going to
make some changes and you're gonna if you're an NFL better,
you're not gonna like this. Okay, but my NFL betting
is going to dramatically change for the next weeks. Don't

(00:39):
know how long, but for weeks, the NFL has become unwatchable,
It's become unbettable, and it's become a product that is
unrecognizable to those of us who grew up with the game.
My generation is what made the NFL great. My generation
is the one that turned the NFL into what it
is today. Our obsession with everything NFL, our obsessed with

(01:00):
daily fantasy, our session with sports gambling becoming legalized. The
kickoffs have been a disaster. They're a joke to watch
every Sunday. It's impossible to actually call that football. The
flags are so inconsistent and make no sense. They throw
flags and pick them up for no reason. They throw
flags for roughing when it's a football play. I watch

(01:23):
college every Saturday, and I see football. I see football kickoffs.
I see you know, while I don't like the targeting call,
the targeting call is pretty clear. We know what targeting is.
We have no idea what roughing the passer is. We
have no idea what intentional with unecessary roughness is. We
have no idea what past interference is.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
We have no idea. It's all subjective.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It's all literally pulling things out of our behinds and
just deciding to make it up on the fly. It's
remarkable what happens every single Sunday and every single Monday
and Thursday watching these games and how poor the product
is from the quarterback play, which has just been an
absolute joke for the first seven weeks of the season,

(02:06):
to what happened last night. I mean, it's I had
to sit there and sweat the Ravens game. That was ridiculous, Like,
why are we sweating the Ravens game? They're up forty
to eighteen. Never in a million years, so that I
had been a sweat. It was a sweat we got
it right. The Cardinals game was a complete ridiculous I
mean I was on the Discord channel. I told you
guys to bet Cardinals money line. I got out of

(02:27):
the bet because I saw it. You can see from
a mile away it was coming. It was like, okay,
this is going to happen. Marvin Harrison got a fifteen
yard flag for what because somebody hit him with his helmet?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Like what are we doing? Like this is incredible?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Like it is so my NFL betting is going to
shrink dramatically. My college football betting will increase. Probably Saturdays
will have a bigger card officially, Sunday's card is going
to be small. And I'm just I'm gonna go where
you could make money, right. I mean, there are people
who do not bet the NFL after Week six because

(03:02):
this reason.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
They've seen this for years.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
But the NFL's got a product problem because forever, January
was always the payoff, right, the playoffs, the playoffs. Well,
we have a college football playoff coming in January, a
college football playoff that will rival the NFL, that will
make it something that we're going to have an opportunity
to do to watch. So I'm excited to see this.
I'm excited to watch and see how this plays out.

(03:26):
I'm excited to see how it all goes down. But
I'm changing. Okay, I'm giving you guys the heads up.
You might be like, Matt, what where is it? Where
are the plays?

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I'm talking like three units on Sunday. That's it.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Maybe less, Okay, this podcast is up to me as
to what I want to play and what I want
to bet. Give me college every day. Okay, I've been
leaning this, I've been talking about this. I've been heading.
I broke last night. I ade that Cardinal game broke me.
That just caused me to go nope. Okay, because you
could see it the flag that got picked up that
they called the ball uncatchable, you could call holding. Say hey,

(04:02):
the ball's onun catchable, so it's holding. I mean it
was a clear problem by the dB who interfered, got
in the way, caused a problem with the route. It's
either holding or passing interference. The ball's unketchable, it's holding.
Hard ball lost his mind for a reason, for good reason.
Should have lost his mind. It's incredible to watch it
picked the flag up. Why did you throw the flag?

(04:24):
You saw the play. You saw what happened. Picked the
flag up, Oh the ball's unketchable. Well that it's holding,
and it was holding, was holding, and then it was
passing interference. So it's pretty clear to me what happened there.
And then the Cardinals get the football back and they
get a fifteen yard gift to start the whole drive.
I mean, it changed the entire game. It's ridiculous. So

(04:44):
I mean you want to go official. The hockey bet
was bad, I mean it was. They pulled Vassileski. Zissi
was awful. He got yanked to give up four goals
and got yanked five to two win for the Maple Leafs.
That killed the bet. Unfortunately, they scored one goal in
the third period. But Vasileski, that's awful for him.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
He got yanked.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
So that's what killed the day, not the football. Football
went one and one. The hockey bet went down. But
it's just one of those situations where I'm just I'm
at my wits end with the NFL and it's time
to take some time off. It's time just to kick back.
We'll bet props, you know, not too many, but maybe
a teaser or two. But the days of me getting

(05:21):
involved in five six games in the NFL and sides
in totals for at least the rest of October and
maybe longer is gone. It's out the window here. And
I know we do pretty well in the NFL. It's
just the product is a problem. Watching this and what
having money on it and watching this is not fun
anymore for me. So congratulations of the NFL. You just
droveed me even more into college football. I don't think

(05:42):
it's a bad place to be quite honestly, Saturdays are
so much better than Sundays. I have so much more
fun watching Saturday than Sunday. And I don't have to
pay three hundred and seventy five dollars to watch every
college game, but I do for the NFL. So you know,
it's cheaper on top of that to watch college football
than it is watching the NFL. So to today's fun.
So as a palate cleanser for today, I never bet

(06:06):
parlays you're getting four today?

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Why?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Because hockey is doing something called frozen Frenzy. Every single
hockey team is playing today, beginning at six pm Eastern
Time with Washington and Philadelphia and ending with dropping of
the puck at eleven pm Eastern Time for the Kings
and the Vegas Golden Knights. You get a game starting
every fifteen minutes throughout the entire night. I mean, this

(06:33):
is awesome. Yes, the NBA is back tonight. Yes it's
banner night. Yes I have a play on the Celtics
and the Knicks. But I got four quarter unit parlays
to throw at you, just to have some fun across
the entire day. The most we're gonna lose is one
unit if we miss them all. All we gotta do
is hit one. We hit two, We're good, we hit three.

(06:55):
We're doing great gifts and no gifts and moneyline parlays
and give you all the plays coming up here, and
second i'll explain them as to what we're doing. We're
following trends. We'll see if we get go oh and four,
we go own four. But I want to have some fun.
I want to have action all night. I want to
watch what's going to play out here. It should be
a lot of fun. You can bet them all at DraftKings.
DraftKings let you parlay all this stuff, but other books

(07:17):
do as well. Speaking of DraftKings, this podcast being brought

Pick six dot DraftKings dot com slash promos. Let's talk
about the opening night tonight for the Boston Celtics spanner

(08:00):
against New York Knicks. Perfect opponent, perfect opponent for the Celtics.
This team was unbelievable last year at home. They weren't
great against the number by mind you, and so the
five and a half number does worry me a bit.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Okay, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Boston opened at as a five point favorite, and no
OUN's up to five and a half, up by half
a point. My gut tells me there'll be money coming
in on the Knicks. My gut tells me you're gonna
get five. You might get four and a half for
the Celtics if that happens. I like it even more.
This Celtics team, I think can name its number even
without perzingis playing.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
They're so deep.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
The entire team is back, and I think Jalen Brown
and Jason Tatum actually have a lot to prove this year.
You might say, wow, Matt, they're winning a championship, and
you're gonna say that they're gonna need to prove something. Yes,
why the Olympics for Jason Tatum not playing, getting benched,
not being a part of the gold medal team, really

(08:56):
at all the questions that have been all around him
about well you one night, but the path, the path,
the path, all that nonsense. Jalen Brown wasn't even put
on they all start the Olympic team. He was left
off of it. Jalen Brown won the MVP of the
NBA Finals, and yet people are still wondering what Jalen

(09:16):
Brown will do. Jalen Brown for an MVP really possible,
like really really possible. I was gonna do NBA futures
today until I realize that we can do NBA futures
tomorrow on the podcast because the teams that start tomorrow, well,
the full schedule of the NBA really starts tomorrow, It
doesn't really start today. What starts today are just two games,

(09:38):
and it's Banner Night for the Celtics, but Nicks and
the Celtics and then the Tea Wolves and the Lakers
and then everyone else starts tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
So on tomorrow's podcast, we can do NBA.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
We can do NBA futures, But for today, we can
just lay the five and a half with the Boston Celtics.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
But I'm not going full unit.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
We're gonna go half a unit, my zero point five
to five units down to win half a unit.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Here. Why it's opening night, It's Banner Night.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Okay, I think Boston kills the Knicks just because, but
Boston could keep their take their foot off the gas.
Boston could get back doored. I mean, it's happened before
to them. In the fourth quarter last year, Boston had
all sorts of big leads and Boston didn't finish. Now
New Year kind of the same team, but they've talked
about wanting to finishing more in the fourth quarter. They've

(10:24):
talked about being a better defensive team. And I know
the Knicks have got new players.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
I understand a lot of people are going to be
all about the Knicks and Karl Anthony Towns and blah
blah blah. Okay, Yes, I like carl Aintontown's Okay, I
do think that's that's good.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Okay. But this idea that New York.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Has firepower, okay, like sure, like okay. Even now, people
are doubting the Celtics. Even after the championship, people are
doubting the Celtics. It's oh, it's og here they go,
oh here, I mean look, I mean okay, Jalen Brod said,
look out here we go. Okay, I mean, I get it.
You can be in love with the Knicks again. It's

(11:01):
not popular to love on the Celtics. It's way better
to like the dog and way better to like the Knicks. Okay,
it's better for Clicks.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
I get it, all of it.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Sure give me the five and a half for the
Celtics tonight, only half a unit though point five five
units down to win a half unit on opening night
on banternight for the Celtics here now to frozen Frenzy.
This is going to be crazy. I'm gonna put the
picks on the screen and then we're going to talk
about it because they're a little bit complicated. Okay, So
Bostonize five and a half first period overs. These are

(11:31):
coreter unit plays, all four of them first period over
for Colorado, the Rangers, and the Vegas Golden Knights.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Let's start here with Colorado.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
They are six for six for a first period over
over one and a half goals so far in two
thousand and twenty four to start the year, six games,
six times it's gone over Colorado tonight is taking on Seattle.
Seattle for them this year, kind of a middle of
the pack, you know, three and six type of team.

(12:04):
Half the time they have gone to a first period over.
But when you couple it with Colorado, who's six for six?
First leg is Colorado over one and a half goals?
Second leg of this first parlay are the Rangers. The
Rangers to go over one and a half goals. They
are four in one to a first period over for

(12:26):
the Rangers so far this year, and the Rangers are
taking on the Montreal Canadiens. The Montreal Canadiens this season,
they are five in one themselves to a first period over.
So Montreal and New York are playing each other. Both
of them are eighty and eighty three percent on the year.
Second leg first period over one and a half goals

(12:48):
for the Rangers and the Montreal Canadians.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
It's two nothing either side or one to one, okay,
this is just two goals being scored in the first period.
And then finally we're going with the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Vegas Golden Knights are a team that I scored
again five out of six games to a first period
over for the Vegas goal.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
To Knights, and they will end the night with the
La Kings.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
The La Kings, much like Seattle, fifty percent of the time,
they are three and three to a first period over. Now,
if we get the first two legs of this, considering
that it is such a juicy parlay, it's plus four
thirty seven, I don't mind coming in and betting the
opposite side. Just guarantee yourself something right.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
You can come in.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
You can bet half a unit on the know or
the under rather under one and a half goals and
guarantee your self profit. It's the last game, okay, So
you have Colorado and then the Ranger game, and then
you have the vj VGK game here in Vegas late.
You can jump on that. Okay, Colorado the Rangers in Vegas.
Three leg first period over one and a half goals

(13:51):
in each of those games is a plus four to
thirty seven parlay. Put a half unit down, sorry, put
a quarter unit down on that first leg. Second parlay
for you guys. And this podcast might get a little long,
so I apologize. I love doing gifts and no gifts.
This is a no gift parlay. Dallas in Carolina, Well,
Dallas is playing Carolina. Dallas is one. Sorry, I'm sorry, Caroline,

(14:16):
Eman's going to play each other. Dallas is playing the Stars.
Are the number of the least likely team to give
up two goals, have two goals, but they're at Buffalo,
so Dallas is last. They are one in one in
five to a first period over So sorry, this is
a gift. So our goal in the first ten minutes.

(14:37):
Excuse me, I'm this is getting complicated, sartainly and put
this back. No gift, no goal in the first ten
minutes for Dallas and their game here. That means no
goal in the first ten minutes is a gift go
in the first ten no on this So Dallas, they've
only had one goal in the first ten minutes one
time so far this year, which is good. Buffalo is
a team that's been pretty prolific at this. Okay, this

(14:59):
might be a a little bit of a sweat on Buffalo.
They're five and two to the yes for a goal
in the first ten minutes, but let's just hope that
color out that Dallas doesn't score and the Buffalo is
on score either. Gonna combine that with Edmonton in Carolina
they are two and four in one in three respectively,
so only twenty five percent of the time and thirty

(15:21):
three percent of the time they had a goal in
the first ten minutes. We're gonna put those two together
and that is a plus three seventy nine parlay for
a quarter unit. Again, Dallas in Buffalo will be the
sweat here. I don't think we're gonna goal in the
first ten minutes for Carolina and Edmonton, but we could
get one here for Dallas in Buffalo first ten minutes.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
If it goes to nine to fifty nine. We cash.
Once it hits ten minutes, we're good. Okay.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
If a goal is scored between zero and nine fifty
nine the goal gets.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Scored there, we're dead. Okay, two leg no gift.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Parlay at plus three seventy nine for a quarter unit.
Now let's look at full games going off records here, Okay,
we're gonna fade the bad teams. The San Sharks are
four and two. They have two points on the year.
The Natural Predators are zero to five. They have no

(16:13):
points on the year. Only team in the NHL yet
to record any points. Yet they are favored against the
Bruins here today, which is really pretty funny. Okay, So
let's say the Bruins are gonna lose this game. The
Bruns are on the road at Nashville. If we take
the Bruins at plus one and a half goals, they
can lose three to two. They can lose four to three.
This can't lose by two goals. But they also can

(16:35):
win the game outright. By the way, Bruins are Ducks.
But you take the Bruins at plus one and a
half goals and then parlay that with the Ducks, who
are at home against San Jose who have two points
so far in the year. The Anaheim Ducks, they haven't
been outstanding either, but they're two to two and one
on the year, and they're one and one at home.

(16:56):
The Sharks are two in are The Sharks are two
and one on the road. They're zero and four overall
on the year, but two and one on the road.
If we get a Duck win here, combined with the
Bruins at plus one and a half goals, that parlay
comes in at a quarter unit at plus one seventeen.
And then finally in all New York Rangers Devil's money

(17:17):
line parlay. Why the Devils lead the NHL in points
with eleven points, the Rangers have nine and their four
to oh in one on the season so far. The
Rangers are at home against Tampa Bay, who are on
a back to back after getting smoked five to two
against Toronto last night. They have to go play the
team with the most points so far in the NHL.

(17:39):
That's bad news for Tampa money line for New Jersey
and the Rangers come in here, like we talked about earlier,
on the road at Montreal. Montreal is not great. They're
two three and one on the year two and two
at home rangerszer or three and oh on the road.
So far this season, Rangers and the Devil's money Line
parlay is plus one thirty five play for a quarter unit.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
All right, so we got five bets.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
We have bets going all day, growing two I mean
one point five units basically in play one point five
to five units, So a lot of action, not a
lot of money in play. Perfect for a Tuesday palate
cleansing type of day to get ourselves, just to have
some fun because I'm just so frustrated with football. The
Celtics laying five and a half to win a half

(18:26):
a unit first period over for Columbus, Sorry for Colorado.
The Rangers and the Golden Knights at plus four thirty seven.
No gift parlay for Dallas in Carolina at plus three
seventy nine. Bruins on the puck line combined with the
Ducks on the money line, that's plus one and a
half goals for the Bruins at plus one seventeen, and
the Rangers and the Devil's Moneyline parlay comes in at

(18:48):
plus one thirty five for Frozen Frenzy, have fun, enjoy it.
