Speaker 1 (00:00):
Number one on your car radio preset hand the new
and improved. Iheard radio app w D A Y S
and w D two seven three D Philadelphia. I is
Fox Sports Radio, The Gambler.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Daily take it five o'clock hour, summer shapinard with you here.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I feel like we should mix in like a six.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Oh, I've got one pity. Who the hell wants Ben Simmons?
Oh yeah, with the Philadelphia seventy six ers organization when
they were there was a report Are you buying this
at all that when he was being bought out by
the nets Sixers showed interest.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I'm not buying that either.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
I don't I know Jake Fishers who reported it, who
has like heavy Philly ties.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
That's very in the know here.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
I just can't imagine that that thought actually crossed the mines.
I Darryl Moore and the decision makers just think about,
like how things ended here in Philadelphia, aside from the
fact that this dude is a fraction of the basketball
player that he once was. Like even Ben Simmons at
his peak was a flawed basketball player and he's not
even remotely close to that. So yeah, I do not
need to hear those conversations whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I thought it was ridiculous when it did pop up
my timeline. Then I did see, like you said, Jake Fisher,
I'm like, all right, well he normally has all those
rumors and.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Stuff, but he is a Philly guy.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah. I just not buying that either. And sometimes people
get bad information. Sometimes people make the earth. Sometimes things get,
you know, to whisper down the lane, and they end
up being a little bit bigger than what they were.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, at the end of the day, if it gets.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Brought to Elton Brand and Darryl Elton Brand, who I
worked out with this morning, four five o'clock in the morning,
you'd be in myt there at the gym.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
I put up some wait that dude.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Well, the thing that we do at vision work, Yeah,
it's in the hit, it's we keep it moving.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
But yeah, you know, look he's dude, tell you what. Yeah,
he looks dudes in shapes. Though, how old is Alden Brand?
What are we think? Forty five?

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Maybe?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
No, that might be high.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
He might be younger, forty six, pretty good.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I thought he's gonna be a little older than that.
My age, damn it. Nineteen seventy nine nineteen eighty one.
All right, what are you gonna do? Anyways, He's a
great dude, just la everybody.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
No, well we all know this. Darryl Moury makes a decision.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
However, if that paper gets slid to me, like, hey boss,
what do you think about Ben Simmons? Potentially this is
the positives you know, bringing him back here, Like even
if it was just the base and none of the
nonsense happened with him being drafted here and then quitting
and all that, like, even if it was just a

(02:50):
brand new player, but it's Ben Simmons. Like you said,
he is nowhere near what they need. Like he can't
defend his back ax up. He needs to hang it up.
And I think he's going to.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yeah, I do think, And it is funny to me.
The man once hailed as the next Lebron James is
on pace to retire before Lebron himself.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
And take it easy, Lebron. We got this. Yeah, yeah,
shout out coward. I got this.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
And just to give you a couple of stats for
who Ben Simmons is. So after he did land with
the Clippers in the buyout situation, he played eighteen games
for the Clippers, in five playoff games. In the regular season,
he averaged sixteen point four minutes per game, put up
two point nine points, three point eight rebounds, and three
point one assists. In the postseason, he played eight point
four minutes per game, average point eight points, one point

(03:36):
four rebounds, and point eight rebounds. Since he first left
the Sixers, out of possible three hundred and twenty nine games,
he's played in one hundred and eight of this.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Who he's he's done. Just take the He should go
to China and play there, get but you.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Got to care about basketball to do that, like he
just there's no five for nine games you get paid.
I think to do that you have to have like
a passion for the sport, and Ben has never had
that never. I don't think ever. I definitely don't think ever.
Because this was the book on him at LSU. This
was the book at him coming out like this is

(04:11):
who Ben Simons is. He's a guy who I think
is one of the most naturally talented athletes ever who
never had any bit of that desire Like this dude
should be a Hall.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Of Fame basketball player, should be. He's not. He's not
remotely close to being.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Where He's drafted what he's capable of, and that's putting
the shooting stuff to the side. He didn't even need
to shoot. But you're right, he is the ego. He
loved that. That's what he loved. That's what drove him
the most is being a superstar being talked about right,
being able to to get with Uh, you know Tanashi,
who's got a good Jenner? Kendall Jenner? Who else who's

(04:47):
the not Jennifer Hudson. Whos the girl that's with Klay
Thompson though.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Megan the Stallion, Yes, he was in her d ms Hell.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, Ben Ben probably did very well off the court,
no doubt, I'm sure, But that's sort of a that's
what Yeah, that's the whole conversation. His jersey's up and
those raptors, that's for damn sure. All right, let's keep
it moving. I told you we'd slide a six ers
conversation in here, but I want to bring this up
first of all, stupid stupid side topic real fast. One

(05:18):
of the scariest movies I've ever seen in my life
was The Conjuring Okay, have you ever seen it?

Speaker 3 (05:23):
I have, I have.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
I'm not a scary movie. Not a scary movie. I
have seen the contracy.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
What's what's When I ask you, what's the scariest movie
or a movie that scared the Jesus out of you
the most?

Speaker 3 (05:34):
What is the first one that comes to your mind?

Speaker 4 (05:36):
The is a none one I forget, Yeah, I forget
the name of it.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
The one with the nun, the haunted. That one does
freaking out. That's actually the name of it, isn't it
the nun? Maybe?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:47):
The nun?

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Okay, that's yeah, I think that is it. That one
freaked me out a little bit.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
It's got some similar vibes to The Conjuring too as well,
but they all kind of have the same play.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Look, yeah, yes they do.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I'm not a scary movie guy either, but The Conjuring
was so scary.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
I will tell you.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I think The Conjuring is the scariest movie I've ever seen.
People could laugh at that to each their own. Now,
going back in the day, there was nothing more scarier
than Poltergeist. So they're here like that Freddy Krueger before,
Like when I was a young buck, like those movies
like had an effect on me right, Like I didn't
want to go to bed by myself, like this is

(06:26):
the mom Dad, I got to sleep in your room,
you know, that sort of deal. But the Conjuring the
recent like one, and forgive me, it was probably like
ten years ago when it came out, but that movie
was literally the last one that I remember was just
so damn scary. Now there's a new one, and I
want to go see this in the movie theater. That's
that's why I'm bringing this up right now. I want

(06:48):
to go see this in the movie theater. And I
know we got some folks in the Gambler gang that
would probably go see a movie in theaters, whether it's
Mark Henry Gina I didn't if you would join or
not Conjuring.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah, I could be talked into that.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
I do like going to the movie theaters and that
like experience there, even if not being a scary movie.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Guy.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
I will say, I do think the movie takes come
quite strong from this this this group chat.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Who do you think Mark Henry Junior brings the Jansen's
like elitist movie?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, absolutely, he'd be talking like you know, like the
the awards and stuff like.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Like I'll give an example, this is my opinion on
movies here, Like Happy Gilmore Too. I loved that movie.
That was everything I wanted to see in a movie.
Like it was feel good, there was a storyline there.
Loved Happy Gilmore too. I loved Happy I haven't seen
it yet, I loved it. That to me is like
what I want in a movie. I don't want to
be breaking down the cinematology or whatever the word is,
or like diving into like the like. I just want

(07:46):
to feel good, have a story, laugh a little bit.
That's what I want a movie. That's to me what
a movie experience should be.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
All right, Well, all I know is The Conjuring really
was good and scary and ever which way, and I
need to watch that again.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
But I want to go see this new one that
is out there. As far as movie theater.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
They got combined like three different words to the cinematology there.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
I liked it. It was a nice pull by you.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
All right, just to let you know, we do have
some news out of the world of the Phillies. They're
back at it this evening, taking on the Mets for
game two. We'll talk a little bit about that game
before we get out of here.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
But are on Luke.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Arcaney down there in the dugout talking to Rob Thompson,
and he said, quote, Zach Wheeler was back at the
ballpark yesterday. Rob Thompson said, it was great to see
their ace around the team, even though he won't pitch
again this year.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
That's great.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
That's cool because you heard from players that said, man,
Aaron Nola, like, I'm used to seeing him at the
front step when we're not pitching. We watched the games together.
Maybe Wheeler could return to the dugout.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
You never know. I don't know how that works rules,
but that's pretty cool. I would imagine that's possible.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
And by the way, it's probably the best thing for
Zach to be around the team again and you know,
be in the mix. Like I know, even speaking from
like my experience as an athlete, the worst about being
hurt to me was just physically not being around in
the same way or being in that routine in the
same way, and athletes as a whole or so routine
oriented that I do think like it's probably beneficial for
him to be back in the mix. So that is
great news that he's sort of responding to things and

(09:13):
you know, with the team again. We'll see how much
that continues.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
From here all right, and then once again, as I said,
with the Phillies and Mets Game two coming up here
at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies seven games for the
magic number to clinch a playoff spot, eleven to get
the division. Ranger Day down at Citizens Bank Park. Oh,
by the way, Hello Kitty Giveaway Day at the Ballyard.

(09:39):
I wanted to bring my daughter down. My daughter's five,
she's got kindergarten, like it starts at six forty five.
I wanted to get the Hello Kiddy in, you know,
purse for her. It's just like, all right, I'm not
gonna stay for.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
The full game.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
By the time driving home, she's sleeping, Like I feel bad,
you know, just five. It's a little too young. But
the Hello Kitty giveaway would have been like a hit.
She would have loved me. She's like that, You're the
greatest thing ever, Oh my goodness. And we would have
caught a few winnings drove home, but she would have
been sleeping. So I felt like, probably gonna be a
responsible parent. It's a school night, as they say. Ranger

(10:15):
minus one thirty seven. Hey, if you get a Hello
Kitty bag, send it to me, please, Sham and I
on the mount for the Mets plus one thirteen total
coming in at eight here a Ranger and the Phillies,
as I said, ready to clinch a division, clinch a
playoff spot, but more. And we discussed this to start

(10:35):
the show, Sean, just to get over that mental hurdle
of actually beating the Mets, which, oh, by the way,
could be a potential playoff matchup.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
It's a huge deal.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Yeah, and the Bats did not look lively last night.
It took an Aaron Nola jem for them to get
that win there. I do have some concerns that Man
and I can spin it as well on the MOUNTA
and the Phillies have had trouble with him before that.
They really have not hit him well this year or
really throughout his career there, so I'm not overly out
mystic on the total, but I do think Rangers is
gonna step up and be able to match that. If
I'm looking at any sort of player prop direction, I

(11:05):
do like Harrison Vader. I'd probably take the two blessed
bases here got him in the leadoff spot, which I
honestly think could be pretty effective role to use him in.
I liked it they're trying it out, and obviously you
got a little wiggle room to play with it with
Trey Turner on the injured list and figuring out the
new lineup from here.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
So I think it's gonna be a tough battle today.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
It wouldn't overly shock me if that the Mets do
find a way to come back in and you know,
even up the series for this. I think this is
a matchup that probably definitely means a little bit more
to them. But nonetheless, when you got Ranger Suarez, you
got a chance.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
How about Schwerber hasn't hit a bomb in like eleven games.
I think it's been Yeah, he looks a little frustrated too.
I will say Kyle Fisher watching love it. Kyle's down
there at the Ballyard as well. Wheelers allowed to be around.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Cole Hamill has told me that when Roy Holliday was out,
he almost became more valuable to the team because he
could help so many more guys with advice than he
normally could. That's true, That's true, And it'd just be
for Morale to see Zach Wheeler your ace out there. Yeah,
I think that that would probably be something that everybody
would prefer so. I'm glad to hear that he's able
to do so, and I would imagine that MLB would

(12:05):
not rule that, although like sideline with NFL, you're not
allowed to be on the sideline, right and all.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
That injured players.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Who knows, but that's great to hear, all right, Yeah,
Schwarber hasn't hit a home run in forever. He's plus
two forty tonight for one bop down at the Ballyard.
We'll talk a little bit more before we get out
of here. Harrison Bader at the the leading off spot,
which is very intriguing to me.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I'm a baier guy, Shamannard.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I don't know if you know that big time batter guy,
but he needs to be a little bit more careful
on the base path.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
That's all right, let's keep it moving.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Let's get on over to the world of college football,
where we do watch the games, and we're not ap voters,
but here's the deal.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
We've been paying.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Attention and we got some good games, really good games
this week, and some games that are under the radar
but are going to deliver in a big way. And
for me, I look at that Vandy South Carolina game
that game could potentially be one of, if not the
best game this weekend. I really do believe it. DraftKings

(13:07):
currently showing South Carolina five and a half point favorites.
Both teams undefeated two and zero on the season. South
Carolina with an impressive victory against Virginia Tech to start,
Vandy with even more of an impressive victory on the
road at Virginia Tech last weekend. Now five and a
half is five and a half. Could Diego Pavia go

(13:29):
on the road and beat South Carolina? I think they could,
you know, And that's where it starts. It ends for me.
If I think a team can go and win as
an underdog, I gotta take them on the points here
at plus five and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Anything for you in this game.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Yeah, I like them on the money line, Sean, Yeah,
I'm a Diego Pavia guy. That is certainly one of
my quarterbacks at the collegiate level. And I was really
impressed with the performance against Virginia Tech forty four to
twenty the final score, and I thought they looked pretty
dominant on both sides of the football. There drones they
really kept in teck and check. From a quarterback perspective,
They're obviously going up a tier in talent with South Carolina,

(14:03):
who comes in ranked eleventh in that very same ap
pole here. But I do think that there is some
magic that Diego Pavia possesses. And I think the Vanderbilt
squad as a whole is deeper and more talented than
they've really been given credit. It felt like last year
it was just highlighting the like impact in presence of Pavia.
He's got a squad right there next to him, and
I do think they can get the job done.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
That's interesting.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, I South Carolina looked really ferocious on defense. Sellers
is a badass Sellership probably the best player.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
On the field. Yeah, still, but you know.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
But I think Vandy, you're gonna give me five and
a half. I wonder why it's that many. Will that
number come down potentially come kickoff? I could see money
coming in on Vandy. But that is a tough or.
That's gonna be a great game. Can't wait to sink
in and watch that one on Saturday night?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Can I ask his sellers? I don't want to say
it's too early to say anything. I would say he's
been slightly underwhelming to me to this point.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Only two games in Yeah, you know, like I said that,
the game against Tech, I think he had his moments
where he proved his worth.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
You know, I want to look up his numbers right now.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Last week he had completed eleven of nineteen fo one
hundred and twenty six yards in a touchdown, added twenty
three yards with his legs.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
He was twelve and nineteen in that game. So wasn't
his best performance. Yeah, He's definitely not a Heisman Trophy
winner with those type of numbers, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
All right.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Next game up I want to get to is the
Notre Dame game against A and M. This one's at
seven thirty. The Irish are home seven point favors forty
nine and a half. The big thing for me is
to layoff right. Like A and M has played two games.
They played Utah State and UTSA. They've thrown up forty
plus points in both of them. Notre Dame gets just

(15:46):
gets it going. They take on Miami on that Sunday,
if I'm not mistaken of Labor Day weekend, and then
what they get thirteen fourteen days off and now they
have to ramp the backup to take on a tough
Texas Texas A and M squad. This is another monster spread.
This is a seven point spread. The Irish are favored
by forty nine and a half. I kind of leaned

(16:09):
the A and M covering a number, and I think
they could go in there and went out right.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yeah, I was surprised the numbers at seven.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
To be honest, I would guess this is more of
like the four point type of spread kind of ballgame here.
For that reason, I'm riding with Texas A and M
on the points. I think that I think that Notre
Dame will still find a way to get the job done.
But I really like how Marcel Reed has looked this
year at quarterback four A and M. He's obviously got
the dual threat, and I think he's like looks more
polished as a passer, at least at the start of
this year. The seven is just too many for me.

(16:34):
I think this is gonna be less than a one
touchdown game. Give me the A and M on the points.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
So many good games. We got the Miami Florida and
South Florida game going on. That look, Florida State and
Miami have finally, you know, bounced back, and it's like
great to have them, you know, at the top of
a college football conversation topic at least right And this
is a big one from South Florida. We talked a

(16:58):
ton about already today. They're seventeen and a half point dogs.
They have two pretty impressive victories so far, including going
on the road and beating Florida in the swamp. And
here they are catching seventeen and a half four point
thirty kick on Saturday game being played at the U.
I don't know if South Florida can win this game,

(17:18):
but seventeen and a half is very.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Nice, disrespectful even I might say to be throwing it
by that march and I get Miami's up a tier
from both Boise State and Florida. And I will note
like I'm kind of skeptical of Florida all across the
board that I don't think DJ Lagway is that good.
I do think Hilli Napier has some issues here. I
think that we get to put some stock or what
South Florida is actually doing here Byron Brown. He's a
guy for their quarterback spot. And I also he's a beast. Yeah,

(17:42):
he's a stud. Give me the seventeen and a half
I'm not saying I think they're gonna win this game.
I think they're gonna have a chance to. I think
it's gonna be another down to the wire matchup. And
I think that where we should be talking about South
Florida as like, probably not a playoff team, but should
kind of be in that conversation. Find me a resume
better in college football than what they have right now?

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Be good question for Julian Edlo on Thursday as far
as the splits are concerned, because I just imagined that
all of America will be riding with South Florida in
this one. It's an easy bet to make, right. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
And I will say there's been some pretty monstrous odds
movement for them already. They went from I believe they
opened at plus twenty eight hundred to make the college
football playoffs, they're down at plus four fifty for odds
for that right now, and a ton of other movement
like that.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yeah, And I think from the game perspective, I know,
I thought it was high as like twenty eight and
now it's seventeen and a half.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
What time is that game? Four thirty?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I said, So Vegas Insider has the opening number here
let's see, let's see, let's see, let's see. No no, no,
oh no, no, I was wrong. Eighteen and a half.
I thought I heard twenty something.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
You want a little surprise here, so dove into the
DraftKings stuff.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Here.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Seventy one percent of the US seventy one percent of
the money is on USF spread right now, eighty four
percent of the money line on Miami.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Doesn't surprise me. It doesn't shock me when to that.
But yeah, I would imagine what the ats. A lot
of people are gonna be taking those points, like, like
we said, rightfully. So they've looked pretty good so far
in their two games, all right, other games that have
at least some substance behind it. And we got to
go to the SEC. Now, Georgia and Tennessee get going

(19:21):
at three point thirty on Saturday, Georgia three and a
half point road favorites. I thought Tennessee really impressed me
in that game against Syracuse.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
They were slinging it.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
I didn't watch a damn play against Eastern Tennessee State
where they threw up seventy two points. But the kid Aguilar,
the transfer, he was I think, app and he went
to USLA for like a trip of coffee. Yeah he is.
He was really really spending it in that game against Syracuse,
taking some shots down field. They have some playmakers that

(19:52):
I think can score some points. Three and a half.
That was three and a half. That's a small number,
but they are home. I'm kind of in the the
coin flip spot for this one. I don't know which
way I would go. You got to play in this one.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Yeah, that's mostly how I feel as well. These are
two teams that I'm not particularly bullish on either way.
I probably would take the points for that reason with
a three and a half here. I do like how
Aguilar has looked a little bit. Georgia I have my
doubts that I don't think that they've been overly impressive
at this point either. I probably lean towards the plus
three and a half just because I think it's gonna
be down to the Wired game and getting the home
team is always a positive with that great atmosphere down

(20:25):
in Tennessee. But yeah, I don't particularly like either of
these teams from like a season long standpoint.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
How about Clemson and Georgia Tech. This is the this
is what this is a weekend. We're going to learn
a lot. Yeah, I think it's pretty easy to sit
there and say that early in the year, no doubt.
But you know, some of the matchups in the first
two weeks FBSFCS.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Whatever it is, lower tier.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Ultimately, you know, there's been a lot of cupcakes scheduled
and that's fine.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
But now for this Week three that we have with.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Clemson and Georgia Tech, as I just pointed out, we
got Wisconsin, Alabama, Oakland, I said, Oklahoma, and Temple almost
the games that we have already mentioned, there is a
lot to be learned as far as in these games
man and Clemson and Georgia Tech look.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Clemson very flawed. Yep.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Georgia Tech has yeah, run game, and I think this
has been a number that's been on the move. Georgia
Tech catching three and a half at home, they can
absolutely win that game. Clemson had to really pull it
from the depths to beat Troy last weekend.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, Georgia Tech has looked depressive so far.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
I think Clemson is the better team, but Georgia Tech
has a lot of momentum in their favor and as
I said, they're at home. It's really tough to pick
against Georgia Tech here, but three and a half is
a slim, slim margin.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Yeah, and you can keep the points because I want
Georgia Tech on the money. On hand, I'm ride with
Hayes King. I think that this Georgia Tech team can
run against anybody, and certainly against this Clemson up frontline
that they look concerning to me. I don't think Kate
club Nick is that guy. I do believe in Georgia Tech.
The run game being kind of the takeaway for this game.
I think they're gonna jam it right down their throats
and have some success in doing so.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Give me the plus one forty two odds.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Florida and LSU. That's a good matchup to seven thirty pm.
LSU at home seven and a half point favorites forty
eight and a half. Florida has to find the way
to win a game. I don't think they do it here,
but can they keep it close? Probably gonna take SU
given the seven and a half and think they're gonna
win by double digits.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Yeah, mean as well, I like the minus seven and
a half. I've really liked what I've seen from nuss
Meyer this year. His like read of a game and
kind of picking apart. Defense is super super advanced for
the collegiate level. You can tell he's like the son
of a head coach in the way that he is.
And I think he's putting his name in the ring
for to be a top NFL pick. So I've been
really impressed with what he's done. And again I'm skeptical
of Florida. I don't think the dj LA lagway is

(22:51):
that dude. I don't think that roster is good enough
to make up for that, and I think LSU is
gonna be hungry to get back on the horse and
produce like a dominant victory.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
I'm trying to see who UCLA isla so I can
bet against them.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Yeah, that is a bad, bad squad, terrible team, absolutely
terrible team.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Who do they have? New Mexico? Who are bad?

Speaker 4 (23:11):
The Lobos fifteen and a half spread fifteen and a
half points spread plus four to seventy on the money
line for the Lobos.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
New Mexico's catching fifteen and a half correct.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Oh we're taking that bet against UCLA weekend Friday night game.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Oh nice, we're gonna be out of Penn State.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Yeah, that might be a bar on at Penn State
kind of game. I can get behind a hate watch
of Nico.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
That's ten pm kickoff. That means we're not going to
bed until about one thirty on that one. Good grief,
and that was probably gonna be in case anyways. All right,
speaking of Penn State, they're hosting Villanova no number, no
odds just yet, but head coach Mark Ferrante, his show
is coming up on the other side here at six
pm live from Chickens and Pizza and Drexel Hill. Steve

(23:55):
Panona and head coach Mark Ferranti, you're gonna have some
fun recap and what just took place on Saturday against
Colgate Villanova one and oh on the season in a
big time matchup against Penn State. A lot of hype,
a lot of buzz, and we're really excited to be there.
Of course, teaming up with our friends over at Playfly Sports.
Can't thank those guys and girls enough for them allowing
us to do this. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

(24:17):
We're taking the Gambler Gang on the road. It was
supposed to be an RV trip.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
iHeartRadio Powers that Be said, Yeah, I don't know if
we should do the.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
RV, which I still don't understand, but I just said, whatever,
like I go, you get us.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Hotel rooms were good. They made that happen.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Okay, I think you know, and probably in the grand
scheme of things, hotel rooms over and RV is probably better.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
But it would have been fun. It would have been
The RV would have been definitely dumb. It would have
been a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Have you been driving, by the way, Oh absolutely, I
couldn't wait.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
I've driven an RV two times now. I rented a
dark time.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
All right, a little bit of experience. You do not
want me whipping that thing around.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
Man, you get he is getting the right lane, and
just cruise.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
That's not the turning part of that's my wire. Yeah,
all right, you pick it up.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
That's not the type of vehicle that you're changing lanes
and moving fast.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
You just you get there. So it's one one road
three hours away and back. And that was it.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
And then they were like, you know what if something
like whatever, just get us sometime rooms and so that's
what we're doing. We're getting out there Friday broadcasting live
daily ticket, gamble Gang, all out there representing a big
way three to six and it on Saturday, we'll be
live outside the Bryce Jordan Center from twelve thirty to
I think two thirty. We're going to go to or
three o'clock excuse me, three o'clock kickoff for Villanova and

(25:40):
Penn State will be a three thirty pre game coverage
kicking off right here on the Gambler at three pm.
Don't touch that dial. A couple things to do before
we get out of here. On the other side, we'll
take a deeper dive into the Phillies and Mets game too,
see if we can set up a same game parlay
via draftings, sports book, and cash.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Don't go anything more after this.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Daily take it with you here coming down the home stretch.
It's been a fun one shopping on a Tuesday. That's
how we're gonna do it here. No idea why I'm
playing going to distance. I'm doing three things.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Behind the scenes.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
I'm excited Penn State Villanova.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
You know it kind of has that vibe, right what
if Nova wins? Just saying why not? They play the
games a little field for a reason that's exactly right,
should be a good one.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Look, you know it's a tough battle, right, we know
how good Penn State is Oh, by the way, Penn
State already two games under their belt, right, Villanova finally
taking the field last Saturday. So it's a little tough,
a tougher spot, let's just put it that way. But
like you said, you get out there, man, the juices
will be flying, be packed up. And if you can't

(26:54):
get up to play up there at Happy Valley, then
you don't.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Have a pulse. I would imagine.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
It's gotta be really exciting to be a player and
suit up in that game. Probably the biggest spot for
some of those players. But as they often do Villanova
with head coach Mark Ferranti, they make the playoffs, they
make a run and those games bring on a different
type of buzz as well. When you get to the playoffs,
it's really cool. The atmosphere is electric, and as you

(27:23):
continue to win, they only get bigger and batter. So
we'll see what happens this year, but want to know
on the year. Impressive victory against Colgate. Tough, tough opponent,
tough opponent last Saturday up there on the main line,
and it was a bend but don't break a type
of Colgate performance.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
But Villanova was able to.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Get the job done and a lot to build on.
Let's put it that way. After one game in the books,
it's tough to say that. And then you gotta go
to Happy Valley to take on Penn State. But that's
what the schedule says, so I'm sure the coach Fronte
and his crew are ready to go. I also want
to point out Matt Caesar, Villanova legend, did a great job.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
On the broadcast on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
It was great to have Matt Caesar, who is, like
I said, just a true, true legend. Do you know
about Matt Caesar? I do not, Okay, that's fine. He
first of all, won a national championship with Villanova. He
was the playmaker, if I'm not mistaken, even did special teams.
He was that type of player just get the rock
to him and get out of the way. But then

(28:25):
he was so skilled. He had a professional baseball career,
played with the Cubs, made the majors, played baseball for
Villanova too, I believe. But then if you look up
what he did off the field, man like he donated
bow marrow. Just a gem of a human being and
really cool to have him, of course on the airwaves

(28:45):
here and shout out to the folks over there. I'm
sure Coach Fronte made a call on that one to
get Matt involved, but it was really cool to have
him in the booth with Ryan and as I said,
Villanova winning that game. Coach Frante's show coming up next
here on the Gamble are always great to hear from
Coach Ferrante, especially with the big week in front of them.

(29:08):
All right, putting a bow on this bad boy here,
Shanmannard is gonna be with me on Tuesdays. Moving forward,
Let's talk about the Phillies real quick, Sean, because this
is a big series for the.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Mets and for the Phillies.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
With a magic number of seven eleven for the division,
fire up DraftKings Sportsbook. Take a look at some of
the numbers of this evening. As I said, it's a
ranger day down at Citizens Bank Park. He's coming in
at minus one thirty seven sham and Iya on the
bump for the Mets at plus one thirteen eighth your total.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
This is a monster game for the Mets.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
They have to continue to find ways to win games
as they are in the third and final wildcard spot.
Concurrently three and a half games up above the Giants.
There are other three there are three other teams that
are right behind the Giants. So one little slip up
by the Mets, and I'm looking at the Phillies right
now in this series. With three more games, especially after
taking Game one, Mets could be out of a wild

(30:00):
card spot here on the outside looking in. So if
Rangers on on his you know, on the money as
he's been for a few outings in these last few
starts for him, I could see the Phillies getting the
job done. And minus one thirty seven is a good
wager in my book.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Yeah, I do like it.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
I'll throw a little three legger at you here, Yes,
plus seven, that's all right. We got six strikeouts for
Rangers Suarez, two bases for Harrison Bader, and two basses
for Nick Costianus. That's what I'm rocking with. Plus seven
to fifty for that three leg parlay. Interesting odds be
a DraftKings sportsbook excellent?

Speaker 2 (30:36):
All right, A lot of fun today. We touched on
a ton, We talked horror movies, We talked AP voting. Yes,
did you learn anything today? I learned how many people
I vote? In the eight people sixty two we also
talked fantasy. We hit on week two spreads. We talk
college football, soccer, soccer, US men's national team. And now

(30:56):
on the other side, you're gonna hear from a head
coach Mark Fronti with Villanova football. A lot of fun.
Sean can't thank you enough for riding with us. Shout
out to Larry Henry Junior. Back at it tomorrow Mark
Henry Jr.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Will be on the.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Program and then Thursday Sam Ostro will be joining me
in studio. Friday, once again, we're taking a show on
the road to Happy Valley. Makes you stream us on
the iHeartRadio app. And while you're there, make us a preset.
Make the Gambler a preset. All right, I'll talk to
you tomorrow. Good look on all those plays. Go Phil's
head coach Mark Ferrante's show coming up next right here.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Don't touch that dial.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
More to this, we don't just watch college football, we
live it.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
How do they stand on pallace there? Look at them
God stood.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
