Speaker 4 (02:50):
Yeah, it's a beautiful day out here. It feels like
straight summer, almost not even spring out here, so I
can't complain about the weather, ken complain about our beautiful
baseball team, which I know we're gonna be leading off
and getting into. Of course, it is the NBA playoff season,
so kind of underwhelmed by the NBA playing thus far,
but I'm confident there are better days ahead as far
as the quality of basketball decided to break down with
all you guys.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Is it possible that we could watch a sporting event
without canceling it just because it doesn't live up to
some sort of buzzer beater hype?

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Would Could we just stop? Or is it a me
thing that I find?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
This isn't an algorithm thing that I find you on Twitter?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, yeah, what are you looking at me.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Forcause because of the Monday edition of Picks and Roll
that you and Sean recorded, you were taking a shot
at March madness.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, it was absolutely.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
I'm uh, this is a conversation for another day, but
it was fine. I'm out on college sports right now.
I'm just full throw out out, like we're gonna do this.
I don't know if you want to do this right now,
but there's no continuity from year to year.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Like that's what makes part of what makes sports cool.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
There was just no continuity get at least more in
college basketball. I mean college football too, of course, but
in college basketball you had teams where those players built
together and they went through scores together, and then they
went on championship runs. SNOVA teams one and done one
and done one and done is fine, but there still
was continuity within the sport from you to year. There's

(04:18):
none of that this year, not this year, in this era,
and just college sports, like the whole offseason of it,
I've gotten so out of.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
And yeah, March Mannis wasn't a good product this year.
It just wasn't that.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
The final four was really exciting, and the championship game
was pretty good product, but it was bad chaos and
excitement doesn't mean good product. It was bad basketball all around,
and I didn't I didn't have fun watching, which is
why it's been clamoring. You go back to one NBA game,
it's just like it's in differently had Yes, yes, March
basketball is more fun in the NBA. I don't care

(04:49):
about the team's tanking, quality.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Heat versus ball games.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
It's like if you like, if you like Italian food
and you want to go get Italian dinner, why would
you not any you can afford it, and you can,
why would you not go to the best Italian restaurant
every single time you can?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
So Italians your metaphor for any, for basketball as a whole.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
If you want the best basketball, you're going to the
NBA every single time, every single time.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
All right, So it's the.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Best basketball fourteen and nineteen point differential. Last night Atlanta
Orlando beat Atlanta one, twenty to ninety five. Memphis was
getting smoked. They were getting smoked. That's the only reason
why that's even a close game. On twenty one win
to sixteen, and they came back.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
That's the thing. There's a game of runs.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
In the NBA.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
There's such volatile like points that.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Kind of even more no, but like you could there's
less tis just bound back from twenty point from twenty
point deficits. You see that all the time the six games.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, and it was impressive. Book, Florida went on the
right rue.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
It just it didn't it didn't compare to NBA basketball
question compare.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I guess what you just said something that got me
going there and and I guess the question for the
people out there would be you said you're out on
college sports.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Look when fall.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Around'm gonna watch hospital exactly. But right now it's like
I don't enjoy it as much as I used to say.
That's what I mean by a Matt. I don't think
you're you're I think you're wrong. But you're not that
wrong because it's hitting me a certain type of way.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
It's hitting all of us.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
And and we have this situation going out with Nico
and Tennessee and now what UCLA. I believe it's not
official yet, but it seems like that's where he's going
to be playing. And and like that's the one thing
that's hitting me now more than ever. It's like, dude,
it's done. Like nothing is ever going to be the
same in college sports. It's it's no longer about legacy.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's not like, you know, because that was the one
thing that was hit me about Nico.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
I'm like, even if he goes back to Tennessee, there's
a couple days ago when it first popped, I'm like,
even if he goes back, I'm like, man, he tarnished
his legacy there. He's not gonna be a falls favorite
by no means. But he could have left after this year.
And if he wins games, then he'll always be remembered
in a positive manner. If he doesn't win games, then
he's gonna be discussed and you know, and slighted. But
like everything is changed in college sports period. In the story,

(06:59):
what we're seeing right now and specifically basketball. Just use
that as a reference, and I'm sure we could find
one hundred different examples in college football, but.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
We are seeing guys literally play for five different schools
in five different years. And that's not fun. Like it's
the continuity.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
It's hard to root for sport or root for a
sport where there's no continuity and change year to year. Yeah,
they can number one transfer portal, you Sho'll only be allowed
to transfer once, really, unless there's a coaching change. Yes,
only that's how it used to be, and you did
transfer have to sit out a year.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
But so who fights that?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
The NBA, in the NFL, everybody has players players association.
Who's fighting that from the player's perspective? In college I
don't have an answer for you.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
And that's part of the problem is that there is
no legislating body because the NCAA doesn't really do anything,
and they could theoretically make these rules, but they're they're
useless in that regard, so they don't do anything. There
is no legislating body, and that's why there's no rules.
There's no guardrails, and that's why it's the wild wild
West out there in college sports, right.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Now you're saying, who fights this is an enforces.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Or well, all right, so who could create a rule
where you could have it? There's only some one.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Dam just said something that I like, you can only
transfer one time? No, I don't think maybe we should
probably would bump it up to how about one's.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Only five years?

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Do you like that?

Speaker 4 (08:13):
About one free and then you got to sit the
next time? How about that?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Like that?

Speaker 1 (08:17):
But but not everyone's going to be an agreement.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
So now who's fighting the fight for the players to
say no, like if they're not making the money, they're the.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Agents all they're agents. Well they got eight they all
have agents.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yeah, yeah, I was even thinking about becoming a college
sport an il agent.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
The days. These days, it's.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Just like those Nova teams. You know what, I'm sniffing
it out. He's upset that Braden Pierce transferred to That's
what it is.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
You're upset you love Willard will there's Nova teams thinking
about that, like Virginia team, that Virginia team that lost
as the one seed, first ever one seed to lose
to a to a sixteen seed. Most those guys came
back and they went on a special run.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
The next year.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
That would never happen now, that whole team would be
out the door, that would have transferred. That those are
the cool sports stories that come from continuity, and that
just does not exist in college sports right now.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Like every single member of Baylor is either graduated in
the transfer portal or go to the NBA right now,
every single player. And that was a good basketball team
this year, Like I get, not like one that made
a ton of noise. I get your entire point in
all this, I think we kind of it's a better
outlook for us to kind of turn and accept that
rather than trying to put the toothbase back into tube.
I don't think we can kind of pull back. And

(09:29):
like a lot of these issues we're seeing it magnified.
It's kind of been this way for a while, Like
with the one and done's there really hasn't been this
legacy attached to college sports the way there used to
be for several years now, even beyond just dni L
and all this.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah, to me, you brought a villanovo and like that's
the one example, right, Like.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
That's what Jay Wright was best done. Probably why he's
not coaching.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
No doubt, because but like we can reference how many
teams in the last ten plus years that one, maybe
two tops had players staying.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
But even that UNC team that lost to Nova in
the championship, that whole team comes back and they and
as a group they fight to win the next year
over Gonzaga the national title.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Those are cool sports. When RJ.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Davis went West, yeah, well well no, that was that
was That was after talking about twenty seventeen UNC one.
Those are the cool sports stories that come from from
the continuity. That's just says, Look, I'm still going to
watch college athletics.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Don't get me wrong.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Are you just I've always been definitely an NBA over
college basketball guy. I fought that real friends for years,
by a million, and now it's just I feel even
stronger in that position.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Are you in that position? I am in that position
NBA college guy.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yes, I still like college basketball a lot, and like
March Madness for me, is still the premier sporting event.
But in general, if it's like, you know, middle of
the regular season, I'm watching NBA over college.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
It's just like we love basketball. Don't you want to
watch the highest quality of basketball you can possibly find?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
That's the NBA. The shot making the skill all of it.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Watching comedy the three pointers, that kind of irked me.
That's a good Top, that's a good you know, the playoffs.
What's the issue that's irking you these days? Apparently Sam's
upset that Nico is going out there to get his
money and you see, oh, he's not even.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Getting his money.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
That's the point he was, no doubt he's getting paid
less than he was at ten.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I disagree. We don't know.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
I think there's been pretty strong reports about it. Pretty
strong reports, all.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Right, But then there's been a guy that that said
Josh Pate was completely off his rocker with his report
that was invested. That's involved with all things Tennessee athletics.
He's there, lives, it eats, it sleeps. It has been
reporting about vall sports for years and he said he
never heard that before.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
But let me, let me, let me just bring this
to you. All right.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
So Nico top dude, he's getting drafted. He's a first
round pick. No offens butts about it.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
I would put in about first, I think that hurt
his stock what he just did.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Okay, that's fine, But if he goes out there and
slings it goes out of their win loss record.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
He is still getting drafted first round pick.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
If he plays like he did last year for the
rest of his college career, he's a first round pick.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yes, I think.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
No, look at these guys that are being selected right
now in the first round. Like he's got well to
sit down, he had unbelievable skills. As far as legs
are concerned, he's got an unbelievable arm. He was a
top three record, he's got the quarterback presents just last year.
He's twenty years old, so hear me out.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Though.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
As far as the money is concerned, what he was
originally making at Tennessee, let's just say three million dollars, right, Okay,
So he goes to UCLA. First of all, it wasn't open.
He entered a portal with the do not Call yeah tag,
so he already knew he was getting it right. He
went to Oregon first, didn't get the money, didn't get

(12:42):
the opportunity to go to Oregon, that's understood. Wanted to
obviously go a little bit west to get closer to
his family home.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Understood me, Dan Lanning is a great culture. He was
not taking a guy like that.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Shout out Dan Lanning.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
I do think, and then what Dan Lanning is going
to take a job, But you know, did to go
to Georgia in two years?

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Just turned down Alabama's still which is always leading. He
literally turned down Alabama to build up powerhouse in Oregon.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Why can the coaches do this?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
And when a quarterback does it, a quarterback that's a stud. Now,
so he's getting but hang on, he's not losing money.
He's not losing money because do you see a Boosters
got a phone call and said, we can bring in Nico.
I'm a leaving from Tennessee, and he's gonna be our
starting quarterback, but we need to meet this number. And

(13:26):
I don't know, he's not making eight million dollars what
he wanted from Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
No crazy, but to get.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
To the number that he was making at Tennessee, absolutely
I could see that happening.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Okay, so you're making this hole to do about it?

Speaker 5 (13:37):
Just to go through these hoops and hurdles to make
the same comparable number that you were a Tennessee. His
whole point, the whole point is that he overvalued his
own market and and he put he put all his
chips into the table and they called his bluff and
and or, and then he l let him walk and
he's not making He's not making that type of money
somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
So one, I am not sticking up for him full fla.
Like he has made mistakes. His team has made mistakes,
that is no doubt about it. What B said to
me last night, come on, man, you're in the SEC
playing at Tennessee with that offense, like you are in
a great path to prove your worth for the next
level and know by the money that's going to come
as you are a higher draft pick.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
That's understood.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
But what I would say is like, when it comes
to what Nico is and what he's been able to
do right now, I still think that UCLA would match
that number to bring him in.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
I just believe that they would because that's what it is.
It's the bottom line.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Here's hey, UCLA, you want to get him, Here's what
the number we can meet.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Okay, three million, four million.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
But that's the whole point is that with the whole
nil and transport, the grass isn't always greener on the
other side, and people aren't don't seem to understand that,
not just in terms of the money, but in terms
of the situation, so even if you're you're getting more money,
you're just as much money. Now you're potentially sacrificing a
long term gains that you could get from being a
top pick in the draft because you're go going to

(15:00):
a worse situation.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
And that's what a lot. Nico is a huge guy,
a huge name.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
A lot of athletes from college football to college basketball
are doing this across the country and they think the
grass is green on the other side, and they're sacrificing
their long term future and gains for a short term bag.
And that's bad for the developments in terms of their sport.
That's bad for the long term money situation, it's bad
for them, their development is a person, it's bad for

(15:25):
everyone involved. And it's just a lot of just negativity
in the sport right now. I agree with you all
the way there. I'm with you one hundred percent as
far as that is concerned. Colby checking in. Shout out Kolby.
He's gonna be on the show next week.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Dude's an awesome follow on socials talking about things baseball.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
He's a firecracker. I love it, he said, I.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Heard from Nico's sister's best friend at campus circa eight
that he got everything he's ever wanted.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Per friend from two thousand and eight. Hashtag could be true,
could be true, could be true. A lot of people
have sources these days.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
A couple more quick thoughts on this for me, So
for starter is the money conversation, Like I get like,
we're not you know, we don't really know the ins
and outs of financials from his school perspective. But I
can tell you this. If somebody came to me and said,
we can get Nico as your starting quarterback. We just
need three million dollars from you, I can't help you there.
Like I can't give you three million dollars. You can
ask him for me as many times you want. I

(16:18):
don't have it to give. And I get I'm not
a school, but I do think that there's like sort
of something to that, like they don't have a set
of out starting quarterback an okay one, oh, come, he's.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Twenty years old. He's a stud there's talented.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
The situation matters everywhere, all right, Okay, okay, understood.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
I want some Nico's status.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
No, yeah, but it starts with him being twenty. It
starts with him being twenty right, Like, name the quarterback
that's been perfect at that age.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
No, I get that, you know, so every quarterback is
going to struggle. And I'm with you. He hasn't done
everything right, but man, you.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
See it light Like I will say this, Also, the
tax is out there in California.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
He is going to take a hit on that. So
maybe he does lose money at the end of.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
The day, and I commend him. It takes a really
strong personality to stand up admit I'm being paid too much.
I'm not worth that money. I can't do. But I mean,
now they're doing the slant of it. Isn't the money
that it's the Tennessee offense. And here's what I'll say,
I was doing this, So that's my problem. Is everything? Well,
I agree. I think the Tennessee offense was kind of

(17:21):
stagnant last year, and I think the root of that
is because they had an inaccurate quarterback who couldn't read
the defense. Is probably the biggest reason why that was
the case in my opinion. There like he threw for
one hundred and four yards on the.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Tennessee or the Chargers and Herbert I know, I know, no,
So wait, you're telling me that Tennessee have a good
season lest year.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
They are fine. I wouldn't say that the playoffs, Yeah,
and got smokes. And he go through one hundred and
four yards against Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
There's no shit, the national champion high of State. That
was untouchable four yards. One hundred and four yards. Okay,
What did Dan Lannings superb offense do against Ohio State
out there in the Rose Bowl?

Speaker 1 (18:00):
What did Notre Dame do against that defense?

Speaker 4 (18:02):
So we're on the same page that he had a
clear lane to being a top an NFL draft pick.
Where we disagree is I think he took a real
risk of falling off that path by making this move.
You don't seem to see it that way.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
No, No, I don't, because I still believe that when
it comes to the next year's NFL Draft in twenty
twenty six, he will be one of the top three
quarterbacks selected.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
I think he could. There's definitely a chance that's true.
I think that was certain to be true. If he's
stuck on this pathway that he's on, I think there's
a pretty significant risk because there's.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Drew Aller do it for you, because he doesn't do
it for me, and that's what people are pushing back
on me.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
I'm like, really, I'll take Nuko over Jeweler.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
He did for a while into that playoff game, like
you just know, a pretty good year until until the
postseason all around.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Got the ability to make it with with his legs.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
And that's just numbangible right here that I do not
think he'll be a top three I.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Know I'm on an island.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
I'm a draft and I think he's certainly hurting his stocks.
I believe is trending the wrong way after this movie.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
I actually have a bet and we're still trying to
figure out what we're going to pay off. But I
did say that Nico will be one of the top
three quarterbacks selected in the twenty twenty six STRs, with
of course arts going number one.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Yes, of course. So therefore, I.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
Think we could be looking at a situation where he
stays in college and doesn't come out next year because
it gets that dire.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I think that's likely because.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
The money could be better somewhere else, and and there's
no reason to be like a late first rounder and
then build yourself back up. I think he's it could
be that much of a bed Stotler.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Mario Cristobal down there in Miami who runs a ultimate
holy program, and that's and that and and I just
want to end on this, and you guys can give
you your final thoughts on it. And that's where my
big issue is is because you got all these people.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Losing their minds on Nico and.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Not you guys, because you guys have laid it out
why you feel like he made a wrong decision and
that's not beneficial for him and his brand and who
he is and ultimately to get to the NFL at
the highest draft pick possible. So you guys are right
about that. But for the people out there that are
clutching their pearls, and Mario Christobal has the balls to
get out there talking about, oh yeah, well we got

(20:09):
players that bled on this for this program, we would
like to screw you man, and not even about the
player's perspective. How many coaches and whatever sported is in
college athletics take the higher price tag and leave and
leave that program and those players and everybody behind in
the dust, and don't even give them a second think
about what I'm not even gonna bring it up, not

(20:31):
even gonna bring it up you.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Know where exactly where it's going.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
It's these coaches do it, and now you get a
player that does it and he's the devil himself.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
I don't have a problem with that argument at all,
because coaches do it, players should do it. So number one,
he did not read his market properly because he overvalued
himself and his camp and overvalued himself. Or yeah, win
the game exactly in January, so we overvalued himself number one.
Number two is I don't have a problem with players
chasing that immediate bag. My whole thing is, like I

(21:04):
said earlier, the grass isn't always greener on the other side,
and it's not always beneficial just to leave. For these coaches,
it usually is because it's your family are moving and
it's a massive exactly, and it's your program, it's your
culture that you're building, and it's a massive pay increase,
and that that's kind of the number in the salary
you'll be getting for years down the lot. With these players,

(21:25):
and all of them usually have pro dreams and pro goals.
A lot of times when when they take these transfer
portal routes, it's hurting their long term prospects.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Yeah, but college in another campus with brand new co
eds and the same bags.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
That's what they're going for.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Tennessee is nice and all, but it's not Southern California.
I'll tell you, four million dollars speaks to me a
whole lot louder than some co edes.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
You're flashing like.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
What one comes, one comes with the others.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Sure, but when you get into the NFL, you got
no problem, my guy, and you're a starting quarterback in
any POWERFI program, You've no problems.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
I I you know, look at when it comes to Nico.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
I have been his biggest fan from the first time
he popped up on the field and showed off in
that Gator Bowl whatever it was down there in Tampa.
He was electric and I'm pulling like hell for him.
And of course they came up short last year, and
there were many games I tuned in and I'm like, damn,
I thought Nico had an opportunity to blow this thing open.
And he struggled, no doubt about it. And then now

(22:28):
here we are, like he beef brought up a point
last night. I know I continue with it, but he
brought up a point that hypel almost like went into
a little bit more of a hiding him in his offense. Yeah,
and that's my point, and that's where they went and
butted heads over of like the future of the offense.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
But then, why don't you make this move in January? Yes,
that's my old thing. It's like, what took so long?
How are you not having these nil negotiations over the
last three months?

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Maybe somebody told him that he would get the bag
there eventually?

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Why eventually?

Speaker 5 (22:56):
Why are you not having these negotiations sent and hammering
out a contract before Mini camp and all this stuff starts,
which if we're spring to practice starts, which if I'm
a Tennessee volunteer fan payem.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
I mean yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
But they were like they had an agreement, like the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
They know more about number one, how much they really
had to hide him because because of some town concerns,
but number two, more importantly, if he's a good fit
for their culture, and if he's not, that's why you
let him walk.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
And judging by a lot of the reaction, that does
seem a lot of people are like whatever.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
At worst, yes, yeah, who knows what he's like behind
the scenes exactly.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Kirk Kurbstreak came out today and said when he met
with him, he was the nicest human being. You couldn't
even believe. He can't believe what's taking place right now.
I think he said that.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
I'm McAfee.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
We will also be talking a little bit more about
Pat McAfee's show today because Aaron Rodgers hopped up on
and it seems like Rogers is waving the white flag
on a great, great NFL career. It's another one. I'm
sticking him another pat problematic QBS.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
What you interpret as his career is done.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
I printed as yes, I don't think Aaron Rodgers is
going to play.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I think he will absolutely play football. This twenty one
years old. I don't think he plays.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
I think there's a good chance he comes back halfway
through the year when the Steelers, when the Steelers are
really struggling, he doesn't want to go through the mini
camp in the training camp and stays in good game
shape and the Steelers need a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
I think there's a good chance he's coming back. I
can get down with that.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
He plays like the twenty second best quarterback in the league.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Yeah, but you know what I would hate is if
he does go through the whole deal.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
I'm retiring and now comes back halfway through a season.
I don't think.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
Actually, maybe he would, but I don't think he'll go
through the whole ordeal of retiring. I think the season
will come. He won't be on a team knowing that
he'll sign halfway through.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
But one of those teams are gonna need it, and
he just keeps it wide open, just keeps the door open.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
Yeah, he'll keep talking to the Saints, the Giants, Steelers,
A lot.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Of these teams are gonna need him.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Yes, does one of those teams really need him? Though,
you really need Aaron, But he's gonna help. Like, what
are the Steelers?

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Like? What's the Steelers?

Speaker 4 (24:52):
A's be that much worse than Aaron Rodgers right now,
come on, rud Off.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
What a good end to the year with the Jets.
Good end to the when you have a great defense
and you have a solid o line came back cut Calf.
Now a great coach there's and that's always in the playoffs,
no matter who their quarterback is.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
His numbers weren't that what are you doing? Twenty two touchdowns,
eight in orception, a top twelve twenty.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Eight quarterback eleven But he's.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Better than Yeah, twenty eight eleven. It's pretty damn good.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
He's better than Mason for he is so but you
they went five and twelve, like, yes, he's he's not
a I guess he's not like a right, Like he's not.
I guess if I'm in the position of one of
those teams, I don't see like the appeal of getting
a stop back or a stopgap type quarterback who like
isn't going to elevate. None of these teams that we're
talking about are going to make like a playoff push
really like they're kind of fringe.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
I think you're ceiing increases with Rogers if you're a
team like the Steelers, like the Giants and Saints are
probably not playing for anything this season regardless.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
Is Rogers better than what Russell Wilson game? Like, yes, yes,
you thinks absolutely.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Russell Wilson was a shell of himself, but he had
some good game.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
No, okay, but a shell of Aaron Rodgers is still
potentially really good quarterback Rogers Russell Willis is a horrible
quarter with the Steelers, Yes.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Not much, but yes, I get yeah, I mean, I
guess if I'm in there, the shoes like just just
Why isn't rust your guy If like that's the whole
dance we're doing here, I don't know. I think the
juice is not worth the squeeze with n Rodgers anymore.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
That's fair. I could get down with that.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
But you know, again, getting to my takeaway from the
interview where he said, I'm forty I got the sound
bite we'll play for you. On the other side, I'm
forty one years old. I got this going on, and
and like, the funny thing is, it's like it feels
like everybody just wants to pour dirt on this guy.
And I realized that, like, you know, he's not that bad.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Yeah right, He's okay, Yes, and I think there's actually
he says it's because of the COVID thing and the
whole VAXX thing.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
I think there's some some truth.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
There, certainly where that's where the hate friend Rodgers really
blew up.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
He was also very you know, the one of those
out going guy like a troll type style.

Speaker 5 (26:59):
Right.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
He does say things he knows what's being said about.
He is an arrogant guy, yes, no doubt so.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
He invites hate, but it's probably gone to for this
is the hottest studio in the universe. I've been to
hot boxes that are more comfortable. Right now, I'm sweating
through everything. Yeah, cold shower's been here for half hours. No,
I got to write an email to this h vac
company everything. When you get a job at iHeartRadio, you
literally have to do everything.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
All right.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Uh, We're gonna take quick time out. I gonna go
clean the urinal and I'll be right back. I kid
other side. Luke Arkade's gonna join us and we will talk.
Phillies and Giants Game four coming up at Citizens Bank
Park once again. Julian Edlo's going to join the party
at four o'clock, representing a great squad over at Draftings
Sports Book. Here's what we got for you though, again
Giants and Phillies. Giants currently up two to one in

(27:48):
the series. Bad game last night, get that taste out
of your mouth. Christopher Sanchez versus Jordan Hicks and have
big time number at minus two h five.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Hmm.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
That number tells me something. I think tonight today four
h five first pitch Assistens Bank Park is a great
time to take a shot on a few parlays.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I think the bats will be active.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
We got beautiful sun shining weather down there in South Philadelphia.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
So Luke's gonna join us.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
See, if we steer us in the right direction and
every parlay slipped, better have Kyle Schwerber on it more daily.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Take it Backertan, this
