Bring Deep Philadelphia is Fox Sports Radio the Gambler.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
And it is a good afternoon everybody.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
It's the Daily Ticket with you here live on a Thursday, little.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Delayed start, better late than never.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
I believe Drake once said that Sam Austrey from the
Score in studio every Thursday, let's go. We got ourselves
a game tonight. Maybe yeah, possibly, we'll see. Could be
they're saying the Miami Dolphins are desperate, Sam Austrey, are
you buying the desperation angle?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Of course they're desperate, But desperation doesn't always play. Desperation
doesn't always play. A lot of teams will quit and
fold in the face of desperation. I think that's what
we see tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
You're right about that, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
So we got some ride ups on why the Dolphins
can win, why the Bills will win. Ultimately it comes
down to you know what we do here, and that
is the spread twelve and a half. Twelve and a
half for a division battle on Thursday night football. First
of all, did you know that Josh Allen, as good
as it gets on Thursday Night football. He's five and
oh four and one ats and he's pretty darn good

(01:39):
no matter what day of the week they play. But ultimately,
does that make you feel different as far as anything,
like when you look at the history, the historical figures,
the trends win a team and what they do on
a Thursday night or a Monday night, does that play
into your handicap at all.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
A little bit?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
I think Thursday night especially, I wouldn't say like Sunday
night matters to me that much, like because you're not
you're still on the same length and same rest. I
do think there's legitimacy to trends of quarterbacks in prime time,
Like we saw that Kirk Cousins thing for a while.
Sure he really struggled in primetime. Like those games there's
more attension around, there's more highlights, there's more media leading
up to it. You know, it's a big time moment,

(02:20):
and sometimes you see some of those quarterbacks falter on
those stages.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
So I think there's a trend with that.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Thursday night football does produce a lot of good trends
because it's a short week. You want to see how quarterbacks,
how coaches all adapt to playing with three days of
rest versus the normal six days of rest. So so
I do think there's legitimacy to trends. How do guys
perform on short weeks?

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, I think that that's fair, and you're right when
it comes down to Sunday night or Monday night, I
don't really get too bogged down. But the Kirk Cousins
was interesting. He struggled on primetime and it was definitely
something that everybody looked at and they wagered against and
most of the time it did come out.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Well.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Dig that that trend up that number because it was
pretty eye opening and it was definitely something that people
were cashing in on. Know your thoughts at Fox Pho Gambler.
A little delayed start here on a Thursday. That's all right,
We're off and we are running a lot to discuss.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
As far as NFL.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Week three, we got to get into some Phillies conversation.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
They could not complete the sweep last night.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
How many innings, Sam Austrey, did you watch in the
La Dodgers series?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And be honest, how many innings?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
So I watched the end of the on Monday night. Wow,
because it was after it was after Monday night football.
It was a late start, yeah, Monday and football was
a late start too, the seven o'clock in the ten o'clock,
So I turned it on, perfect timing, unbelievable game. I
turned on last few innings and then it went into extras,
and then I caught the whole postgame celebration the night
they clinched the division on Monday night, and then I

(03:43):
watched a little bit of Tuesday Night yesterday.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Once they once they won the won the series.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
To me, took two out of the two out of
the games to open the series against the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Didm'tly matter what happened Tunday night.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
So I didn't even watched last night, but I caught
a decent amount of this division, this series where they
ultimately clinched.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
And l they look great. They did? They look great?

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, against the LA Dodgers and to battle back like
they did for moving show. Hey, and then how about
last night? Blake Snell goes, no, I'm not coming out, coach. Nope, nope, nope, nope, Skip,
you can keep me in here. And Blake Snell was
pretty hitter. Was through five or so we're doing Yeah,
what are we doing, Like what is going on? When
did this start happening? And I get it, you want

(04:24):
to be respectful and you don't want to over exert
your your star player, but come on, we're talking about
something that could possibly be like historical with.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
This guy right now.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Could you imagine someone pitching a no hitter and hitting
a whole run in the same game, Like, come unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
And this is the years came back to pitching too, right,
I mean, he wasn't pitching for a little bit because
of that injury, and now it's like he's a legitimate
starting arm again.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, you mean to tell me he could not go now?
I think he got pulled in the fifth. I want
to say the most nacy pitcher was like six eighty
pitches was his most he's ever thrown. But like you
couldn't and he was pulled with like sixty plus in
that one whatever it was.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I guess what I'm asking is probably not feasible and
it's not even up for conversation.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Could you let him go nine? But no hitters? No hitter?
Show he's got a no hitter? But it was only
through five? Was it was?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
And it's like why would you risk his arm in
a meaningless not meaningless I mean it matters for obviously,
who's gonna get that we how many people.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Are in the ballyard to watch him pitch and hit.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
But you can't have that interest in nine. You have
to have your team's interest in mine. And then, of
course the Dodgers surrendered nine runs to the Phills that
night in the next four innings, so it was a
nice night for the Phillies after there were no hit
through fun.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
All right, we are off and running here on a Thursday,
Cousin Nicky checking in what's up? Kuins of Nikki only
w takes here on the Gambler. Nine subs from one
thousand nine subs, Sam Austrin, can you hit some friend.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Zone nine to go? Let's let's do it by the
end of the week.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Please. Today we got this subs. That's what we're looking
for here. Nine subs. That's all thanks to Cousin Nicki.
Cousin nick is such a stunt. We were just talking
about Cousin Niky in the other room.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Promise you. It just was.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
It's such a good dude, such a good guy. With
that being said, all I do know is this. The
Phillies look like they are hitting their stride, and they're
playing the toughest competition, this Diamonds Back Diamondbacks team that
they have to go up against for three starting tomorrow.
That's a really good ball club that is playing for
something big right now, chasing down that third and final
wildcard spot. Of course, we know how good the Dodgers are,

(06:26):
the expectations there and now all of a sudden, shout
out to the great Philly Capton.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Here we are and he's live.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Are recording a video twenty twenty five is just insane?
Why not throw it onto the list? Do you know
where I'm going with this idea? Do you know?

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Philly Captens medimal bunch h Philly Capts the best? Philly
Capp's the best.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Philly Capp interviewing Governor Shapiro in an empty house at
Citizens Bank Park yesterday. Governor s was as Citizens Bank Park.
He's at Citizens Bank Park. Unfortunately, Uh, the terrible tragedy
here are you kidding me? A couple of state policemen
losing their lives. What is going on with this world?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Anyways?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Hearts and thoughts go out to the families, and of
course we we love our police that serve and obviously
the volunteers in this world that make our country go by.
Like it's just unbelievable what took place yesterday in Pennsylvania.
But he ended up leaving Citizens Bank Park to go
to that. But he was at CBP and he sat

(07:34):
down with with with Philly Captain's been on this show,
the Philly Captin And then all of a sudden you'll
look out into the distance, Sam Austria, and you see
the stage for the lumineers being set up.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Are you illumineers?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I am my Southern Philly tomorrow night right, I would
go to that. I would too, I might be able
to guess tickets. Hey, hey, luminers are great now you
got stubborn loveler songs.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
You get you We get some some criticism if you're
a luminear fan.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Why because people don't you see that on a timeline.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
I don't see anything about the lumineers on my timeline.
I would like to see the lumineers on my timeline
more than some of the stuff I.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Right about that.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
There is anti illuminear takes on the timeline, and especially
now because they're setting up at Citizens Bank Park, and
you're gonna see that's going to kill some grass out
there in center field. Anyways, don't let the details get
involved in a good story.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
In the way of a good story.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Out into the distance, the tarp is pulled off, the
luminear stage is being set up, and who's that shortstop.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Take in ground balls in an empty stadium? But Trey Turner. Wow, boom.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
That makes me take a deep breath, an extreme sigh
of relief. Hamstrings You never know, you just don't know,
But I do believe this. If he's out there fielding
ground balls practicing right now, we're at a good spot
with Trey Turner. I think nine games to go left
in the regular season if I'm not mistaken, So I
don't think there's any rush to bring him. But if

(09:00):
he's out there fielding grounders right now, we're good on
that front.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Trey Turner will be back for the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah, And that was the expectation when we heard about
the injury him, that he should be back for the playoffs.
But also Alec Bohem should be back before the postseason.
And you don't want to rush him back by any stretch,
but you do want him to get in a bit
of a rhythm before if he's taking us first at
bats in high pressure moments in the NLDS, I mean
you like for you'd like him to get a few
at bats and maybe not meaningless games, but some type

(09:28):
of game like format before that, whether it's a scrimmage
that they're going to do, assuming they get the buye
they did that last year, maybe they'll even do two
this year and mix it up because we've seen a
lot of teams who get that buy lose that divisional
round series because a lot of people think it is
that rust factor of being off for a week. So
maybe that's a good opportunity for Trey Turner to get
some live at bats there. But you want to see

(09:48):
him get a little bit of a rhythm back because
he's going to be super important.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
He's had an awesome year.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
He's been one of the best Phillies on this roster,
if not the best, this season, and so they need
him back and they need Alec Bohm playing playing well.
But again, what's been so impressive during the stretch is
the depth of this team. When you have guys like
Otto Camp, Harrison Bader, who's been an unbelievably great trade
deadline acquisition when those guys have stepped up and everyone
has just lifted each other up, dude, because of injuries

(10:15):
that they've suffered, including the pitching staff too.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
That's been what's so great to see.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
And I think that's why the vibes around this team
are as high as they are entering the postseason.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Well, they continue to win, and they are the winningest
ball club in the month of September, right.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
And that was not how it was last year.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
No, And to think that they're doing this without Trey
and Zach Wheeler, it's like.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
What so it it could? It has that vibe.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
I think we need to start thinking that this is
going to be a magical season. But it's extremely difficult
when it comes to playoff times, so anything can happen.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
But I do love the chance.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
I mean, look, hope has been the Philadelphia Fans' worst enemy,
so it's hard to get your hopes up, especially how
the last two years I guess you could say have
gone where there's been expectations entering the post season and
all they've done is pull.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
The vibes are good, Like, the vibes are really good.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Around the team they're playing great baseball, which they were
not in the last month and half of the season
last year.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
There's some good concerts. Cousin Nicky's checking out.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
So Adam Sandler, Adam, he said, Adam Sandler is in Phillis,
so keep your eyes out.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
He's probably hooping it up at some court, maybe downtown.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
And he shot hustle here, Yes, he did at the
Man manny un correct yep.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Also shout out.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Mountjoy is doing some some spots at the Man Turnstyle.
I'm a huge Turnstile fan. They're in there, they've been
sold out. And then who else is coming?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Anderson Bok's coming? What is He's got like a side
group that a lot of people in hip hop? But no,
I wasn't too familiar, but it's it's him, and uh
definitely have my enters for next week. But we shall see.
We got a lot to discuss other side. We're gonna
flip it over to the NFL. We got to talk
about tonight's game in depth. All right, we're gonna fire
up draftings sports book. Take a look at some of
the numbers. Sam represents the score. He does all the

(11:59):
wagering conversation over there with a bunch of other guys
and girls that do a great job. Make sure you're
checking out all of his content on socials at sos
ht r Y. The Eagles and the Rams up to
three and a half. Birds are favorite at home, believe
it or not, the Sharps.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
The Sharps are saying the Rams are the play.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
We're going to go into a little bit of a
write up that I have in front of me that
is legit and whether or not we're gonna put stock
into it. I'm not asking to you to the bet
against the Eagles, but if we're going to be honest
with our assessment as we head into this game on Sunday,
pretty big game for Week three at Lincoln Financial Field
against the La Rams, We're gonna talk a little bit

(12:42):
about maybe maybe why the Sharps could potentially be right
plus the three and a half. It's all that matters.
All you can do is win. I don't care, just win.
But they make a pretty good case here. I'll read
that to you. On the other side. A lot to do.
We're just getting warmed up. Sam Oster, Sean Brace, Morphanous
