Number one on your car radio preset hand a new
and improved iheard radio A w D A yes and
w D two seven three D Philadelphia is Fox Sports
Radio the Gambler.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Oh yes, indeed there we are, Grandmarins in the system.
On a Monday, said daily, taking it to you here
a lot to get to. What a crazy day at
Lincoln Financial Field, and of course the Eagles battling back
the way that they did to come out on top.
(01:12):
All things NFL Week three recap coming your way, the stars,
the teams that were boot off the field, and the
lack of running game across the league as a whole
that is plaguing a few teams right now, I opening
to say the least.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Also some college football mixed in.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
And oh, by the way, we can't forget about them fightings.
Luke Carcany joining us here right from the jump on
a Monday, as he always does. Of course, the Phillies,
you know, sitting pretty right now, Luke. But after what
we just saw with the Eagles yesterday, it's hard to
even think about anything other than the color green.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
At this point in time. How are you doing today, man?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Oh, I'm doing great. I mean that was just absolutely
unbelievable yesterday.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Yes, it was unbelievable football game, unbelievable comeback. But I
think I think it'd be wrong to not start this
off with talking about the quarterback the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Oh we and we will, and we will, we will absolutely.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
But man, the fact that they finally let that guy
play football in the second half yesterday and finally let
him play the quarterback position, just to see what happens
when you let your quarterback throw the football and you
free him up and you don't and you don't run
half back draws on third down and what it felt
like every single third down of the first half.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Just an incredible and half, an unbelievable comeback and one
of the wildest regular season games I can remember from
the Eagles. It was an awesome win. Didn't really feel
like a win, you know, with that last thirty seconds
on that Rams drive, felt like they were going down.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
There a little too easy.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
But I will say, and we're gonna get into this obviously,
but I don't know if that kicker would have even
made that kick if Jordan Davis didn't block it.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
I saw some people slow it down. Looked like he
pulled it a little bit, but.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Nonetheless it's set up for an absolutely electric UH full
field touchdowns celebration with the fans in the end zone.
It was an unbelievable game. And the Eagles are three
and oough and oh by the way they covered and
UH with teams win.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Great to go without further ado. You know where we're going.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
The daily ticket opening dry, no warm ups, no stretching,
just straight into the action.
Speaker 6 (03:39):
So you either win or you learn, right, but when
you win and you feel like you got a lot
to learn and to come on with to come on.
Speaker 7 (03:46):
It is fourth and goal. This is the game right here,
This is it. Perts have the gun, hang on deep rush,
perch back, Hurts looks, Hurts complete Fut's down.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
They take the lead.
Speaker 8 (04:03):
Smith, Smitty and Smith Devon Jay Smith spin to the ends.
They take the lead.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
We won the game. We were gritty in the game.
We stayed together as a team. We did not quit.
Nobody gave up. And in competitive sports, that's what it's about.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
They plucked in the last time the Bulls spotted. The
kick is a very blocked.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
It's blocked.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
It's plucked up by the Eagles.
Speaker 8 (04:32):
Wing went to This is Davis thirty, twenty ten, George.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Davis, are you kidding me?
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Plucked him again?
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Are you chetting lung Tom again? Happy Wethers see anything
like this? You don't believe in miracles.
Speaker 8 (04:50):
The Lambs are standing sound. They can't believe.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
What Just Pappa to the UH Eagles Radio network right there,
courtesy of the great Merril Reese and Mike Quick on
the call, and Yeah, as we discussed Luke to get
this party started here on a Monday, a lot to
chew on.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
You know, it's just it's just jailing Jalen being Jailen.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
And we talked about this in the pregame show where
it's like, I don't remember ever having this stretch of
you know, as far as eighteen and nineteen going into yesterday,
of games that he has started and winning, and I
feel like that is not getting enough attention. Now I
get it. You know, you're the Kings of the mountain.
You're on top of the mountain. You are the man.
(05:34):
You win the Super Bowl and that's where the focus is.
But winning games every single Sunday that you take the
field just can't be something that we get used to.
And it's like, Eh, no big deal. It's insane when
you say eighteen of nineteen now nineteen of twenty games
that the Eagles have won when Jalen Hurts starts and finishes,
(05:55):
just a tremendous comeback by a team that has that
championship medal, that mentality of what it takes never give up,
as what you heard from Jalen Hurts after the game,
and there has to be a lot of that, right
Like you know, when you're trailing by nineteen points in
what was a game that you could not get anything going,
whether it was your bread and butter run game, whether
(06:17):
it was the passing game, just whatever you were trying
to do offensively in that first half was not working.
And credit to everybody, all parties, coaching staff, players included,
of course, to say, you know what, we need to
change some things up and be aggressive here, and oh,
by the way, get the ball to AJ Brown. Good
things happen when you throw the ball to AJ Brown.
(06:42):
He is a beast of a man out there just
shoving defensive backs off of him. And oh, by the way,
you know yards after catch. The yak was ridiculous with
him yesterday. But you're right when it comes down to
that comeback it's Jalen Hurts putting the team on his back.
Three touchdown passes, no interceptions, converting on on tough third downs,
(07:03):
converting on tough fourth downs, you know, And that's where
it has to start with. Oh, by the way, you
have to mix this and Sean McVay coming up a
little small. I thought he was just I thought he
was this offensive guru, and he is. He's a damn
good offensive mind. Dude, what are you doing? You got
to go for it? You like, they could not get
(07:25):
anything going on the ground in the second half. They
rushed for forty five total yards. You need to change
in things up. That was an epic, epic choke job.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
If they picked up.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
One more first down or didn't kick the field goal
that got blocked and instead decided to go for it,
I don't think the Eagles will have enough time, and
I don't think the Eagles come back to win that game.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
So it goes hand in hand.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Mcveigh's got to look himself in the mirror going, how
the hell did we lose that game?
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Yeah, he that was a cowardly touched game yesterday, but
it really was. I think he gets for some reason,
he gets against the Eagles, and I feel like we've
said this multiple times about McVeigh in the last few games.
It feels like he's had so many coward decisions against
the Eagles, and you wouldn't think that'd be the case.
He's now owing four against Nick Sirianni. But back to
(08:10):
the Jalen thing, I mean, I like, I don't know
what else to say anymore. The Eagles are forty four
and seven in full games with Jalen Hurts and A J.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Brown.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
Like you said, Jalen Hurts is seventeen to zer in
his last seventeen games, including the playoffs. In those seventeen games,
seven to thirty, eight hundred total yards, forty three touchdowns,
five turnovers. Most comeback wins when trailing by double digits
since twenty twenty, including playoffs.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Patrick Mahomes thirteen.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
Next is Jalen Hurts with ten Jalen Hurts on throws
past the sticks yesterday ten for fifteen one hundred and
seventy yards, three touchdowns and one hundred and forty four
passer rating. Seven of his nine completed passes over ten
air yards in the second half for one hundred and
fifty four yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
I just don't know what else to say about the guy.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
And you know you can. You can sit here and
say whatever. He scores a bunch of rushing touchdowns. Cool,
if quarterback could do it, he would do it too.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
He does.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
Mark Action scores a ton of rushing push. Josh Allen
scores a bunch of rushing touchdowns. Right, it's an asset
to his game, Like why stop if it works? The
toush push, all the outrage, the false start. I've never
in my life seen people care. You know, all these people.
I get on social media and I see all these
people tell you to put away the stats and put
(09:36):
away the all twenty two and put away the film
and watch ball.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
And then all of a sudden, he's run the toush push.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
And they and they find these sideline angles and they
put it in point one speed and they're like, oh,
this guy jumped off side by a millisecond. Like, dude,
come on, man, like put it away, Like obviously, if
the guy jumps off sides, right, I get it the
one point yesterday, you slow it down. Yeah, whoever it
was was off sides, then call it a false start.
(10:05):
If he if it was a false start, then call
it a false start. It wasn't a false start. It
wasn't called It was just unbelievable quarterback play. And I mean,
get Aj Brown the ball man. Like a few of
those plays yesterday.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
I think my.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
Favorite one was the third. I believe it was third
and ten. They were back in their zone. I believe
it was either late third quarter or early fourth and
AJ Brown catches that on third and ten on the
top of the screen, right past the sticks and just
little boys like three guys on the rams, stiff arms.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
One jukes.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Dude, man, he's the ball man.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
I mean I saw someone say today like if AJ Brown,
you know, AJ Brown, with the player he is, he
could have fifteen hundred yards this season, and he doesn't
because that's not how the Eagles run. The Eagles don't
throw the ball thirty to forty times a game. They
don't need to because they win. Man, if if if
Hurts needed to throw the ball thirty forty times a game,
(11:05):
AJ Brown would would be on a Hall of Fame
trajectory right now. That's how good that guy is. It's
it's absolutely incredible.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
He's young. This tandem is just unbelievable, and I think
we all saw, yes.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Hey, continue to win super Bowls in your name, you
will be in campon right. You know he's you know,
trust your eyes. We know how special of a player
he is. He potentially could be the best player on
the field. I you know, Saquan is pretty darn good
at what he does, Lane Johnson, what he does verse
is pretty darn good what he does for the Rams.
There's a lot of great players out there, especially on Sundays.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
We know that.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
But Aj Brown he's he delivers every single time he's
called upon. I don't really remember Aj Brown not coming
up with a catch. I really have to dig hard.
I thought for sure he was gonna get called for
a pushoff. Don't want that one touchdown?
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Yeah, well they got us back for the.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, you know, I I thought for sure that was
gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
But you know, to your point, Ting ten targets, six grabs,
a Buco nine, one touchdown essentially all in the second half.
Davante two as well. They go hand a hand welcome back.
Dallas Goddard gave that play out in the pre game.
I believe, if I'm not mistaken, Dallas Goddard was on
the field more than anybody as far as receivers are concerned,
more routes than anybody.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
He only got one catch.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
He only had one catch the whole afternoon, and he
made the most of it thirty thirty three yards of
the house.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah, big time play there, all right. So again, just an.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Incredible comeback on the offensive side of the ball. But
of course, if we're giving out game balls, I need two. Hey, hey,
my people in the back, Yeah, I need two game balls.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Boom, I get one.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
I got two, and I'm giving it out to the
big men, Jalen Carter and of course Jordan Davis, because
those boys, they were able to find something that they
were able to bring to the table for And forgive me,
maybe they've been doing it any other games. I don't
remember seeing the breakdown all that much, and I'm sure
that we will start to see us more and more.
(13:01):
But what they were able to do from the first
opportunity that they had going up against the field or
on the field goal block against the field goal team
for the La Rams and getting that push, you know
that that's just just think about.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
The size of those two individuals and.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
They're over up whatever it is, a guard or this
I don't think you can rush the center, but it's
right to the right of the center. And next thing,
you know, the push that they were getting. They almost
blocked the first one, or Alaski did a good breakdown
earlier today they almost got that one. So it was
no surprise that they were able to get to the
next field goal, that they had an opportunity to do so.
And it was about as big as a guess because again,
(13:38):
if one of those goes through. Of course the last
one that needs no explanation. I don't know if the
Eagles will have enough time to win it. However, doesn't matter.
They blocked the first one Jordan Davis got or Jaylen
Carter got credit for that one. Jordan was right there.
But there they're hand in hand. It's just snapball. They
are in there, pushing back as far as possible, hands up,
(13:59):
and those are.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Two big, big, big dudes.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
And of course that last final field goal, and to
your point, he might have looked it.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
It might have, you know, came back right.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
These kickers these days, I don't know if that would
have had you know, enough distance to do that. But man,
that the one guy for the Cowboys kicker Aubrey the
other night when he came to that was a sixty plus.
But it literally started left and it comes back. These
guys are so ridiculous in the kicking game, but regardless
doesn't matter. And then to pick it up and to
run it back when ninety five percent of Lincoln Financial
(14:33):
Field had the Eagles minus three and a half and
to cover the number the way that they did is
just one of those games that you will always remember
if you were in the building. I was in the building.
It was an incredible day. It was hot, it was
a long day. I'm getting old, Luke.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
I can't hang with the big dogs anymore. I can't hang.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
I can't hang. These games are long, dude. We were
down there at eight am, right, dude? Did this show
deal with all that nonsense? Then afterwards, next thing, I'm
going into the stadium. I'm like, man, I'm gassed right now.
I felt like Jordan Davis two years ago. Jordan Davis,
not this year's Jordan. But all in all, what a
great day, man, what a great.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Where does where does rams plus three and a half
rank in the worst beats you've seen?
Speaker 4 (15:19):
It's gotta be up there.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
It has to be, because that's gotta be up there
because Jordan Davis could have just fell on that ball
and the game could have been over. True and oh
man if I had that bet, which I obviously never
would have, but man.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
All very true.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
It's one of those deals too, where it's like, you know,
the the bravado it takes to hit send on that wager.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Let's just put the Eagle fan to the side, because
you're never gonna do that.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
But for somebody that that is a die hard, you know,
sports gabler out there, they place wagers on all these games,
and you break that game down and you're finally seeing like, Okay,
this could be the opportunity that the somebody's gonna make
it interesting for the Eagles. I just don't see the
offensive output gonna match up X y Z. Your breakdown
was pretty good, right. If that was your line of
(16:02):
thinking going into that game, you have to be feeling
pretty damn good about yourself when they were up twenty
six whatever it was twenty six seven, and didn't feel
great about that play.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
So here it was.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
It takes all the Coynes in the world to go
ahead and hit send on that wager to bet against
the Eagles at home short favorite and then you get
up the way that they did, dominating. Okay, this is
good no offense, butts about it. I am winning this wager.
Maybe the Eagles win the game, but I'm winning this wager.
And on the final play, Jordan Davis, Jordan Davis scoops
(16:35):
it up and runs like Rocky down the parkway, Luke
down the parkway and he scores the touchdown.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
The place was insane. What a day yesterday, What a day.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
I got a game ball for you. How about Fred Johnson?
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Fred Johnson coming into that game yesterday after a abysmal
first half from Matt Pryor.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
I mean that was brutal yesterday.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
They they couldn't get any those edge guys from from
the Rams Jared Verse and and those guys were I
mean they were in the backfield every single play. Hurts
was getting sacked. Nothing for Saquon. And then Fred Johnson
comes in and logs forty two snaps in the second half.
And I did see a stat earlier. I got to
pull it up really quick. But uh, Eagles offense before
(17:22):
Fred Johnson was one point two to one yards per
play and seven points. And after Fred Johnson came in
was six point six yards per play and twenty points. Yes,
a lot of that has to do with them throwing
the ball more once he got in the game. But
he stepped up big yesterday. That was the first time
he's played right tackle in a game since Week four
(17:43):
in Tampa Bay last season. He really stepped up yesterday
because that that RAMS D line was getting to the
Eagles heavy first half, and he stepped up for Lane Johnson.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
He came in and he.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
He dominated yesterday in a situation where the Eagles needed
him because, as you know, the.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
First half was not going too hot. No, it was ugly.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
What twenty six to seven, it got to it cold
point yep.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Everyone thought it was over. The Rams thought it was over. Listen.
I don't know what Hurt said to Kevin Patula yesterday.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
I don't know what happened in that sideline exchange, but
something happened there yesterday because I don't know if it
was what Hurt said.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
I don't know if Sirianni.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
Said something to Petullo at halftime. Something happened yesterday as
either Kevin Petulo figured out that the play sheet is
two sided or or Hurts.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Hurts was calling the place in the second half.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
I don't know what happened yesterday in that second half,
but I mean it was just absolute night and day
from the Eagles yesterday.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
All Right, Nick Sirianni after the game, a little something
about toughness.
Speaker 9 (18:52):
We have to do a better job because we had
three personal files today, So we have to do a
better job of keeping our emotions in check.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
It's awesome, that's emotion to.
Speaker 9 (19:00):
Win away like that, but we have to We have
a good framework of our mental toughness, but we have
to have that same mental toughness, you know, when the
emotions are high in the football game.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Another three in oh star for Nick Sirianni. I just
I got them wrong, man. I can't believe that he
has had the success that he has had as the
head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. He deserves a ton
of credit because he's got this team believing. You know,
I think they vibe off him. They definitely, you know,
love his fiery approach. He talks smack. They enjoy that,
(19:35):
and he just delivers. He knows how to build these
guys up and get them going for game day again.
I just want people to get it. This team super
Bowl aspirations again this year.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
You know, oh hum, it's a regular season.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
No like that's an issue for us in this city
as a whole, no matter the team, no matter this sport.
We need to enjoy regular season action across the board more.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
And when your Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Eagles are winning nineteen out of the twenty times that
they take the field weekend, week out, death taxes and
the Eagles winning on NFL Sunday, Luke Carcaney, that's where
we're at right now.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
It's insane.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
It's insane, and they were able to do it last
night or yesterday in a game that pan in the
air just at halftime.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
I'm like, man, this is atrocious. This is atrocious.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
But the defense held it together, limiting the Rams for
picking up first downs. Really started on the ground because
you know they're not going to throw the football up
twenty six to seven, and the Eagles held the Rams
to forty four total yards.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Two good running backs with.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
The Rams decent offensive line, and again with McVeigh, you
know what he's capable of as far as the offensive
play calling. But the defense stood up, and man, what
a great win across the board in all three phases.
And I hate to sound cliche, but it's the reality.
To come back and win down twenty six to seven,
everybody had to have a hand in it.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
It's not easy, and I mean, like you said, it was,
it was.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
It was everybody on the field.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
It was the offensive line figuring it out in the
second half, because I mean, I thought Matt Pryor was
obviously really bad in the first half, but I I
didn't think anyone else on the offensive line looked that good.
It wasn't just pressure from Matt Pryor's side, it was
everywhere the line didn't look good.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
They adjusted hurts, you know.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
Whatever Colling was going on in the first half, he
obviously adjusted. Aj Brown, DeVante Smith got way more in
the mix. In the second half. The defense just continues
to It feels like, you know, there's gonna be some touchdowns.
And yes, if you have DeVante Adams, Puka, Kyron Williams
and Matthew Stafford on the field, I don't care what
(21:45):
defense you have, you're going to allow some points. It's
just going to happen. But you know the fact that
they you know, saddled up and just went to them.
You know, they didn't break after Kyra and Williams put
them up, you know, nineteen points. What the second quarter
they battled, They battled like heck. In the second half,
(22:07):
they they played good. You know, I don't know what
happened with Petulo, And if it was Petullo still calling
plays in the second half, then I give him a
lot of credit for truly adjusting because the first half
was really bad.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
But you know, it was just an all around team win.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
And I think some people like to, you know, hate
on the term just then, but you know, it's all
the matter, it's all that matters.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
And you know the thing with.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
Hurts is, you know all these little keyboard warrior haters
are like, yeah, they wont but he threw for seventy
one yards.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Who cares?
Speaker 5 (22:45):
Who cares? I don't care how many yards he throws for.
If they win the game, they win the game. And
yesterday showed you that maybe that's why you should have
Jaalen Hurts throw the ball a little more because the
guy can sling it. And if if the Hurts aj
Brown connection is on, then there's not a team in
football it's to beat them. And it's pretty obvious they're
seventeen and oh in Jalen Hurts his last seventeen games
(23:08):
that he started and finished. They're one's last seventeen games
that he started and finished. They are an undefeated season,
a seventeen and oh season for the last seventeen games
that he started and finished. It's it's absolutely unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
So much to get into. Of course, we can't put
the Phillies to the side because they are coming down
the home stretch and looking good. I know that they
didn't have the best series against the Diamondbacks, but I'm
curious in a little bit more on your takeaway from that. Well, yeah,
we're already, we're on. We're moving on.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Yeah, we're gonna move on, move on to tomorrow versus.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Miami postseason, of course, a lot of teams. How about
the Mets. Oh how about them Mets, step right up
and meet the Mets. Unbelievable. Yeah, that sense that gets
a little juice going here. On on Monday, we got
a lot, Yeah, we got a lot to get to
and a Monday night football game coming up with a
high high total of fifty three and a half. Other side, though,
(24:07):
a crushing blow on Mondays, you always find out injuries
across the league. An absolute crushing blow to the forty
nine Ers and the hopes that they could win the
NFC West. I'll tell you what exactly happened there. On
the other side, it's Luke Rcadie. I'm Sean brace daily
ticket more after.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
It is if you get wager on it, we're talking
about it.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
It's the gambler.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
And ruled it out. No, we're not sure.
Speaker 10 (24:35):
I mean there is concern because of how he feels,
and you know when they do the tests and stuff
on the sideline when usually they say whether he definitely
did or not, and they didn't say that. But we
are concerned with that him Kim Fingers crossed for the
the m riot, whatever he does.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Head coach forty nine Ers Kyle Shanahan there after the game.
Nice victory by the Niners to pull that one out
over the and the Cardinals did not cover the number,
but still a win is a win, especially when you
are a competition for the division. The tight race, three
out of the four teams were two to zero heading
into yesterday. Of course, the Rams Austin, Niners one Cardinals
(25:15):
ended up losing there.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
So bottom line.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Is this Kyle Shanahan speaking on Nick Bosa, the stud,
absolute stud pass rusher potentially tearing his ACL. Well, yeah,
news just came down today that that is the case.
Just now, Nick Bosa will be done for the season.
Suffered a torn ACL in his right knee. Oh by
(25:38):
the way, Luke Arcane's still with me here. This is
the second time that he's torn in ACL in his career.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
That is just heartbreaking, man. Yeah, that is terrible.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Back in twenty twenty he did it as well. He
also partially tore in ACL back when he was a
senior in high school. Nice work by ESPN here to
have that one. Two sacks, eight pressures, fifteen TAC and
I love this for my analytical nerds out there. Twenty
one point nine percent pass rush win rate in the
first two weeks before being hurt yesterday at the end
(26:09):
of the first quarter. So a significant loss for the
forty nine ers, who, oh, by the way, replaced a
ton of players on the defensive side of the ball.
I think they had eight or seven new starters over there.
Bosa's the guy. I mean, we know how good he is.
He's a guy that's constantly in the backfield getting after
the quarterback, no matter who is the offensive line He's
going up against Boss and nine times out of ten
(26:31):
is going to win. And to lose a guy like
that's a that's a backbreaker.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
It's week three. You got a lot going on.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
You're winning games, but you're dealing with Pardy McCaffrey's hanging
on by a thread.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
He looks great. We'll see if that can hang on.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Of course, Brandon Ayyuk, all the new faces and you
were in the running for the NFC West and right now, Luke,
just because I have the Rams winning preseason, I had
the Rams winning that division. You can get the Rams
right now on Draftings sportsbook and plus one eighty five.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
I think that's a good wager. Forty nine Ers are.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Plus one oh five. Seahawks still in the mix, Cardinals
eight to one. Understood, Seahawks are good. I'll give them
the credit that they deserve. But the Rams, for my money,
I thought that would win the division. I still like
what they're putting together. Plus twenty five. I think that's
a wager everybody should have.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
I mean even with the Niners, you know, not having
Purty too. I mean, how mac Jones has looked good,
but how long is the Mac Jones hype gonna go
on throughout the regular season. I like that number for
the Rams a lot. Rams are still a great football team,
Mike Sirianni said yesterday they are. The Eagles easily could
(27:43):
have been on the other side of that game yesterday.
That could have been a three Rams team going in
beating the Eagles. Sometimes your magic runs out and the
Eagles won.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
But yeah, just a brutal blow for the Niners in Bosa.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
It seems like the Niners these past few years just
injure his injuries injuries. I guess they'll have to rely
on Bryce Huff now on their edge out there in
San Francis.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Actually made a to get a sack in the first
game against Norman. Yeah it it's fumbled too. Yeah, he
played well in that good morning off there. All right,
quickly on this give us the latest. As far as
the Phillies are concerned. What what six games left in
the season. They got three against the Fish, three against
the Twins. It's looking like the number two overall seed
lock them in there.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Yeah yeah, basically so right now, it's it's the most
likely scenario is the two seed Brewers hold the one
seed still Phillies are three games back of them. Six left,
it would it would have to be a lot of
winning for the Phillies and almost all losing for the Brewers.
(28:47):
So it's pretty safe to lock that two seed in
the magic numbers two. So there's six games left for
the Dodgers.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
And games left for the Phillies. The Phillies have to
win two of those games, two of six.
Speaker 5 (29:01):
If they win the next two games, the four after
that don't really matter.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
They can do whatever they need. If the Fleas were
to go one in five, all the Dodgers would have.
Speaker 5 (29:11):
To do in their last six games is lose one
game and the Phillies would clinch the bye. So we
can we can basically put this by the rest. But
like you said, things are getting a little interesting right now.
Not with the Phillies so well.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
They were the hottest team in the month of September.
You knew that they were going to have a little
bit of a you know, a slump coming.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
Oh yeah, yeah, I mean it was bound to happen
that there was a six game West Coast trip with
you know, twelve left in the season.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Diamondbacks are good too, and.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
The Diamondbacks are also fighting to get in.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
How the hell are they good?
Speaker 2 (29:46):
They sold everybody, They traded six players at the deadline.
How are the Diamondbacks still competing and winning?
Speaker 4 (29:53):
They've they've been hitting the baseball?
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Is that what it is?
Speaker 4 (29:57):
That's how so?
Speaker 5 (29:58):
I mean, listen, right now, the diamon back to a
game back of that last wildcard spot, so they they're
still playing for something. Listen, that series meant a lotwer
for the Diamondbacks than it did the Phillies.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Sure, which you know I mean, can be part of
the reason.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
I don't think it's all the reason Ranger got lit
up yesterday.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
But nothing crazy. But as it stands right now.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
If if the if the season ended today luckily for
the Mets, it doesn't.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
The Mets aren't in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
And after an off season of signing Jan Sota to
a seven hundred and sixty five million dollar contract, six
games left, if if everything's still the same, they are
on the outside looking in. Right now, the Cincinnati Reds
would get that last wildcard spot. It would set up
a Dodgers Reds wildcard series and a Cubs Padres wildcard series,
(30:52):
and then as far as the.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
American League, well, hang on put time out, time out.
As far as the Phillies are concerned, do you have it?
Who would they be facing? Are you able to?
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Probably the Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
The most likely scenario right now is a Phillies Dodgers
n LD.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Well, the Dodgers are facing who the Dodgers are facing,
the Reds, And you think I'll take the.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Dodgers in that series, even though say the Reds.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
The Reds can throw a pretty nasty three game pitching
at you, but I still like the Dodgers in that series.
I don't think the Cincinnati Reds are gonna go into
Dodger Stadium and win two of three in the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
If they do, then then we can come back.
Speaker 5 (31:38):
But yeah, most likely scenario right now sets up a
Dodger's Phillies nl DS. Uh So, Games one and two
would be in Philly, Games three and four would be
in l A, and Game five, if needed, would be
back in Philly. Game one of the NLDS set to
start two weeks from this past Saturday, so October fourth.
(32:02):
So we are eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve days away
from red October.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
Is it is snuck up on us?
Speaker 5 (32:11):
It's been a six month regular season ups and downs
and everything in between. But right now that's kind of
where we're standing really quick because.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
I have to talk about it.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
I need the American League to stay as it is
right now, what do.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
You got standings? Wild Card series?
Speaker 5 (32:33):
Three games in the Bronx Yankees versus Red Sox. Dope,
let's god, Oh it's gonna be absolutely awesome. And so
that would be the four to five matchup and the
three six would.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Be I'll tell you right now, I don't think I'm
betting against the Yankees. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Something is telling me, man, that's a coin flip because
the Red Sox have had their number.
Speaker 5 (32:58):
But I just, man, I don't know it's gonna be
a that that line's gonna be a lot closer than
you think.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Absolutely, And right now it would actually be a Inner
Division matchup with the Tigers facing off against the Guardians.
But Tigers have been sliding and.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Ten straight just.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
The Tigers have been sliding just as bad as the
Mets over the last I would say month and a
half to two months. So there is a chance that
series could flip and it could end up being it
could still be Guardians Tigers. It would just be in Cleveland,
but some some exciting matchups bruin right now. But obviously
most importantly, the Phillies magic number is two for the buye.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
You know, win two of your last six.
Speaker 5 (33:46):
If you want to make everyone stress out, only win
one of them and hope the Dodgers lose.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
But let's just win the first two games of the Marlin.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
Series and then the Twins series would not matter last
three games.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Marlin series kicks off tomorrow night, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Speaker 5 (34:03):
I believe it will be Christopher Sanchez, so a spot
for the Phillies to at least knock the magic number
down to one.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
I have to check really quick. Yeah, so the Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (34:13):
Don't play tonight, so both teams could play. So the
earliest the Phillies could clinch the buye would be Tuesday,
where the Phillies win and a Dodgers loss.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah, the postseason commercials are out there. This bad boy
gets started on September thirtieth and gave everybody some homework
assignments over the weekend, the big one over there in
the Al West, and the Mariners went down to Houston
and swept them.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Cal Raley went yard again. I think he might win
the MVP. I really do. I think he might get
the job done.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Where there's odds are at we haven't checked him.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
It was plus four seventy five.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
I took the swing at it last week and then
it immediately dropped the three plus three hundred. It's one
of those deals where it's like, if he hits a
home run, you're gonna get a bad number. If he doesn't,
he's on for four years. Wow, but what do we
got now?
Speaker 5 (34:59):
Cal Raley Aaron Judge dead even sounds.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Yeah, yeah, he's plus four six last Tuesday. I think
it was last Tuesday. I said the plus four seventy five.
You should absolutely have a piece of that, because.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Again, he's probably gonna hit sixty two.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
If he does, if he hits sixty, sixty home run catcher.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
I, there's no way he's not. He's not winning if
he hits sixty. But even if he just finishes with
fifty eight, give it to him and to play that position,
switch hit or what he's been able to do. And oh,
by the way, the success as the team. All Right,
enough baseball for a Monday. Here louis one more really
quick note.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Dodgers Big Big big for the Phillies.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
Dodgers are actually going into Arizona starting tomorrow night. Once again,
Arizona has a lot more to play for right now
than the Dodgers, not that the Dodgers don't have a lot,
but the Diamondbacks are fighting for their life while the
Dodgers are fighting for.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
A home series. So that is definitely one to keep
an eye on.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
All Right, back over to the NFL.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Car Candy Sean brace with you here on a Monday
A daily ticket Adam Schefter tweeted the following. Late last night,
Sunday featured seven NFL games in which the game winning
score came within the final three minutes of the fourth quarter,
the most such games in a single day since nineteen
seventy Merger. So with that, let's go ahead and revisit
some of the big games that took place yesterday. First
(36:20):
of all, I want to start with the number one
play as far as survivor pools are concerned, and that
was the Green Bay Packers on the road against the
Cleveland Browns. We talked about it on Friday with Julian Edlow.
That defense is for real with the Cleveland Browns, and
I said, I wanted no part of that game whatsoever.
If I was wagering on it, I would have taken
the points with the home team. Cleveland comes out on
(36:42):
top out right, thirteen to ten. It was a seven
and a half spread, seven and a half points spread
and stays well under the total there. And it's just
one of those deals where it's like, yeah, this is
how it works.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
You know.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
One day everybody's talking about this team being the best
in the NFC, the Eagles, who are they? This team
right here does it all on offensive defense, and then
all of a sudden they go to Cleveland and lose
to the Browns, who potentially could have the worst record
after it's all said and done, and only muster up
ten total points. A disaster of a game by the
(37:17):
Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
Luke, Yeah, just just absolutely brutal.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
You know, going in And I mean, look, this Packers
team is good. They're they're real good.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
They got they got a damn good defense, and they
they have a good offense. I wouldn't call them a
great offense. They have a really running back back there.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Yep, good play caller, floor, good play caller.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
I personally don't think they have a great quarterback. I
think they have a good quarterback, that's fair. And their
receiver room is just who knows. It's a bunch of
guys that would be the wide receiver three on the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
It's the same story year in year out for them,
and they tried the swing for these guys.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
You know, it's Romeo Dubbs or.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
It's about time they swung Christian gold in years.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
That's true too, you're right, but it's even spending the
capitol on the first round pick. You're right, but they
at least they go out there and they have talent
in that room, but nobody would ever take that step up.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
And you know, Golden.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
Adams, they haven't had one wide receiver on their team
that wouldn't be the wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
From the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
That's which is crazy to think about.
Speaker 5 (38:30):
But just just a just a nightmare of a game
from them. No points in the first quarter, no points
in the fourth quarter, just brutal one touchdown I believe
in the third just bad and then another crazy one.
I know we'll probably get to it, but my survivor
play a little.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
Bit of a sweat.
Speaker 5 (38:52):
But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulling it off in the
end that one.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
It was crazy because I.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
I was watching the score early, but I wasn't watching
it crazy once the whole Eagles fiasco happened. They were
up twenty to six, and I was like, all right,
I'm good, They're gonna go put forty on them. And
then all of a sudden, after the Eagles win, I
turn and they're losing to.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
The Jets at home. Now I'm like, what the heck
is going on?
Speaker 5 (39:19):
But obviously they do pull it out. So a few
three and oh teams match up again next week. But
that was at least my Survivor play, and it turned
into a little more of a sweat than I.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
Was hoping for.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Yeah, I ended up hitting the send on the Buffalo
Bills on Thursday night, so I advanced in my Survivor
pools on that day just to let everybody know. Eagles
and Bucks next week. As Luke pointed out, three and oh,
three and oh and three's the magic number. Eagles three
point favorites in Tampa. Wow, that's not an easy place
(39:51):
to go down there and win, especially in the month
of September.
Speaker 5 (39:55):
That is how my thought the Eagles going down to
Tampa Bay. I won't be touching the game line. I
will tell you that I know the Eagles are winners,
but it's not the same Tampa team though down in
Tampa Bay though, I'll tell you that, and especially good
chance they probably don't have Mike Evans. Yep, saw that
left left yesterday with the hamstring. He's carved us up
(40:16):
in the best. So it'll probably be a lot of
Quinn on versing Amika Egbuko, who's been like unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
To start the year.
Speaker 5 (40:26):
But I mean other than that, I mean, it's what
Hurling Shepherd and Kate Aten and they're not as scary
if they don't have Mike Evans.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Well, it starts for me.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Liam Cohne was a really good coordinator, really good play
caller with them last year, and he was able to
get other things going out of the backfield, and I
thought that that's where the focus was, or the success
of mainstream of the success for the Bucks last year
was that and they're not able to get that going
this year. Bucky Irving is as good as advertised, but
there's something missing right now. It was just something that
(40:57):
they'll figure out after the first quarter. This he'sn't Potentially
they are good. Baker's the real deal. But you're right,
injuries continue to hit them in a big way already
without Godwin and now Mike Evans. But when you do
have the rookie stud out there at Buka who had
six grabs another touchdown yesterday, I believe, Yeah, that's that's
gonna make life a little bit easier than not having
(41:19):
him out there, that's for sure. Yeah, Buka had no touchdown,
six grabs, eighty five yards, no touchdown. He did have
that one hander that was absolutely gorgeous. Baker was nineteen
to twenty nine, two thirty three and one touchdown in
the air. All right, enough of the Jets conversation. Let's
keep it moving, and Carson wentz the backup bowl. Kyle
Fisher was out there, nice swim by the Minnesota Vikings.
(41:41):
But I gotta flip it. It's not about the Vikings
for me. It's the disaster that is the Cincinnati Bengals,
and specifically the fact that I bought into this offense
thinking that, you.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
Know what, Joe Burrow got hurt.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
We know that if he's out there, watch out, They're
gonna put up some serious numbers. Chase Brown has been
one of the most disappointing players in this year across
the board yesterday. Do you know his numbers yesterday? Ten
carries for three total yards, ten for three.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Now, I get it.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
No Burrow in there, Browning's in there was not that
good of a backup quarterback. But come on, we were
talking about him potentially being the offensive player of the year,
somebody that was gonna make the most of his opportunity
getting a ton of run back there, and that has
not been the case so far.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
Just across the board. It has been ugly for Cincinnati.
Speaker 5 (42:37):
Yeah, it's funny because I mean, I'd be lying if
I said I paid any attention to that game yesterday.
But what I did have was Chase Brown over two
and a half receptions and that cashed and like easily
in the third quarter.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
So I mean I figured he had a few more
yards than what he finished.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
But yeah, I mean that's brutal. I don't know how
Zach Taylor has a job still. I can't imagine he's
gonna have a job for much longer. But yeah, I mean,
Wentz looked good yesterday.
Speaker 4 (43:05):
You know, coming off.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
The bench, passes for twenty that's what you need.
Speaker 5 (43:10):
Seventy three yards and two touchdowns big Isaiah Rodgers game yesterday.
What two touchdowns for the former Eagle. Yeah, I mean
it was a good game for Wentz.
Speaker 4 (43:20):
I gotta see. So they have the Steeler. Oh yeah,
this is when.
Speaker 5 (43:22):
The Vikings go back to back out of the US game. International.
That's the word I was looking for international games. So
in doublin versus the Steelers this coming Sunday.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
At nine p thirty.
Speaker 5 (43:36):
But yeah, I mean I would say it was an
encouraging start for Wentz. I mean, hey, next two games
are against the Steelers and the Browns. I think you
can sneak Wentz through those games if your defense looks
good and Jordan Mason continues to run the ball like
he did yesterday. So I mean, no real concerns there
for the Vikings. Sean ask you if you want to
(43:58):
hop on the wagon with me of the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
I need to get on the wagon.
Speaker 4 (44:02):
This team and absolute wow.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Oh yeah, they're wagon all right?
Speaker 2 (44:09):
Yeah when they when they pull that wagon into the
towns that they have been playing, right, and I know
that they beat Miami in Indy. Can you tell me
who else they have beaten so far? With this unbelievable
three and other start like that's the thing, right, there's
levels to it. They're playing. Well, it was the first
punt Danny Jones. You know, Daniel Jones has everybody second
(44:31):
guests and the way that they used to think about him.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
There's a lot to like with the Indianapolis Colts. But
I'm like, wait a minute, let's put into you know,
let's let's bring this up for the judge and jury here,
we gotta put this into evidence. Oh by the way, yeah,
who they have faced off against are the Denver Broncos
Any good?
Speaker 3 (44:49):
We don't know right now? Not so good?
Speaker 4 (44:52):
All right?
Speaker 3 (44:52):
They beat them barely.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
They beat the Tennessee Titans, nice work, and the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (44:58):
Covering wow for three weeks. Week four, I don't know. Yeah,
they go to La play the Rams, but I'll say this,
good defense wouldn't touch the Rams and survivor.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
No do it? Well, yeah you can't.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
All times is on one right now?
Speaker 5 (45:17):
What's the Number's gotta be better games that That is
not a game I would look to next week.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
That is a three and a half point spread. Rams
are favored currently forty eight and a half That's a
tough one to sell. I don't know if I would
sit here and say survivor, I'd have to look at
the list. But ultimately that does seem like the Rams
are going to get that game.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
I don't know, though, We'll see.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Yeah, you get Daniel Jones up against some good competition,
especially if you have to. Stafford played bad yesterday, though
Stafford's got to play a little bit better bad.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
There was a few There was one ball to Pooka
in the fourth quarter that would have been a first
down for the Rams. I believe it was the third
and it was third and five or six, like halfway
through the fourth quarter. Easy first down would have went
int the Eagles territory just missed.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
Them, all right, couple quick ones here. Carolina lumps Atlanta
thirty to nothing. So disappointing, but you know, got to
give credit where credit is due. Carolina was facing a rough,
rough start to the season, already down to oh to two,
and for them to come back and win that game,
or to come out and win that game in division,
now they have a little bit of life. They have
(46:25):
a pulse as far as the rest of the season
is concerned. Because oh and three that would have been
a disaster or still not buying anything.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
But that was a big time victory by the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 5 (46:35):
Big time, and I mean it was a big time
victory from the Panthers. But it was a abysmal game
for Michael Pennix, just absolutely brutal. I mean eighteen for
thirty six for one hundred and seventy two yards, two interceptions,
a twelve QBR.
Speaker 4 (46:51):
He gets benched for Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Not good.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
I don't know what their playing is down there, because
I don't think Kirk Cousins is good, but I don't
really think Michael Pennix is that good either. I think
that team needs a quarterback in the worst way.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
Five point dogs at home and they cover outright. The
Commanders and the Raiders went head to head. Marcus Mariota
getting his first start since twenty twenty two, played okay,
didn't do anythings special, but the Commanders absolutely rolled the Raiders.
My big takeaway from this game is, Yeah, the Raiders
might have won on the road against New England, but
that is not a good team.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
Chip Kelly.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
As far as trying to get Ashton genty going, it
just hasn't worked out and he had seventeen garys for
sixty three yards. There's a stat out there that's floating
around on the timeline about how he is being hit
in the backfield. I think eleven times out of the
seventeen he's either hit at the line or in the backfield.
That's not a recipe for success, So chip I would
(47:47):
expect a little bit more. But at the end of
the day, Gino did go nineteen to twenty nine to
eighty nine, three touchdowns, no picks. But you have to
figure out, you know, ways to get genty going because
you spent a ton of to draft him as high
as you did.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
He's got to be the stud.
Speaker 4 (48:04):
You know.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
I realize that Boise State is not the NFL, but
seventeen for sixty three he's just not going to cut
it right now. With the expectation for Genti coming into
the season.
Speaker 5 (48:15):
Yeah, so what you were saying, eleven of his seventeen
rushes versus Washington he was hit at or behind the
line of scrimmage. He has now been hit at or
behind the line on fifty seven percent of his rush
attempts this season.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
Not good, listen, he was he was good at Boise State.
Speaker 5 (48:30):
But if you put this guy in the NFL against
these big defensive lines and linebackers, if there's not an
offensive line ahead of him, he's not gonna do anything.
I don't care how special of a runner he is.
That's something they have to get figured out because it
was not a great start to the year for Ashton
Jets so far.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
All Right, we have some other games getting to or
to get to here as far as Week three, putting
a bow on this, so before we get out of here, Luke,
I definitely got to get your thoughts on Monday Night football.
Pretty big game going down tonight. Uh, just rapid fire,
real quick. Houston. Oh and three to start the season,
I had the Jags win in a division.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
That's the waggon. You need to be on the Jacksonville
Jaguars wagon.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
There, Luke, we go, here we go with the Jacks.
I can't even find this score. Where'd it go?
Speaker 9 (49:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (49:15):
Seventeen?
Speaker 4 (49:16):
The Jaguars go to the Texans are just really.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
Texans are bad. Offensive line didn't fix the issues.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
Joseph Line.
Speaker 5 (49:23):
I don't know what's going on there in Houston, man, Listen,
I know the lines bad.
Speaker 4 (49:29):
Just not impressed with c J Strout.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
I mean, obviously a bad year last year hasn't really
shown it this year.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
I don't know what's going on there. Another one from yesterday.
I thought the.
Speaker 5 (49:42):
Chargers once again, I didn't put up a ton of points,
but I thought Herbert came up in a big moment there.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Sean Bernard is going to be he's taking a hit
good Justin. Herbert was balling your tough, tough year.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
Justin. You can't be talking to me about the.
Speaker 5 (50:01):
Postseason, as Sean Bernard says, Yeah, it's it's nice for
your court to go three and oho in the first
three weeks.
Speaker 4 (50:08):
Let's watch the whole season on more.
Speaker 5 (50:12):
How about them Cowboys Shawn ugly, brutal yesterday in Chicago. Uh,
Caleb Williams I thought looked really good yesterday.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
Big game for him.
Speaker 5 (50:22):
Two hundred and ninety eight yards, four passing touchdowns, thirty
one points on Cowboys. Obviously they lost seedee lamb. I
think he tried to come back out for the second half.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
But seems like two to three weeks too, that's a
big loss.
Speaker 5 (50:34):
Yeah, not great, it's all they have, just bad, bad
football from those Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
One and two Chicago gets their first win of the year.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Caleb Williams two ninety eight, four touchdowns, no interceptions. And
we talked about this game a lot in the pregame
because Russell Wilson did something that has never been done
in Giants history the week before, and I think that's
all you needed to say that. Like, the Cowboys secondary
is atrocious, their defense as a whole is ridiculous, and
there's some decent players on that defensive side.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
Of the ball. It's pretty alarming how bad they are.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
And I get it, Michael Parsons, it starts and ends there,
but you went out and spent a lot of money
on some of those players on the defense side, and
they are struggle and they're getting picked apart. So ugly,
ugly time to be a Dallas Cowboy fan. When is
it a good time?
Speaker 1 (51:18):
Though?
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Right?
Speaker 5 (51:19):
No?
Speaker 4 (51:20):
Never?
Speaker 2 (51:20):
Final final one for me the Seattle Seahawks again throwing
up forty four. I know they beat up on the
New Orleans Saints, but still I think Seattle has something
going right now that you know, potentially could be slept
on as far as the division is concerned. Like I said,
we went over those numbers earlier. Uh, there's still a
lot of football to be played. I think they're plus
six hundred to win the division. Definitely up in the air.
(51:42):
They already lost to the forty nine ers, no doubt,
but that was a nice victory where they throw forty
four up at home and they had that offense humming,
a lot of good wide receivers out there making plays
for the Seahawks. All right, let's do this, Luke, get
you out of here on this one.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
My day night football.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
We got the Lions, we got the Ravens game being
played in Baltimore. DraftKings sports Book, Hey, new users, take
advantage of the promo code. Use brace be our ace.
Get hooked up with what they have to offer. Trust.
We're gonna tell you nobody hooks up new users better
than DraftKings Sportsbook. Ravens four and a half at home.
(52:23):
Fifty four and a half is our total in this one.
And I know Julian Edlow joined me from DraftKings on
Friday and he said that this was his favorite play
of the weekend. I think both college and the NFL.
I'm right there with him. The issue I'm having right now, Luke,
and it's a little something that you know, isn't really
that you put on a piece of paper or it's
(52:44):
not has nothing to do with on the field. It's
the fact that everybody's taking the Ravens. I haven't seen
one person out there say the Lions. Not one, And
I'm just like, all right, it's it's never that easy.
You know you're gonna back the Lions plus the four
and a half tonight.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
Yeah, I'll do it.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
Any reason?
Speaker 1 (53:01):
Why?
Speaker 4 (53:01):
No, honestly, not really.
Speaker 5 (53:04):
I think one of the reasons he just gave me, honestly,
And I'm not a guy that instantly sees everyone on
one team and just runs to the other team. But
I think I think it's a little silly for everyone
to be backing the Ravens. I think these are two
good teams going up against each other. The Lions found
their footing in Week two. I don't care that they
(53:25):
played the Bears. They they put up fifty two points.
I don't care what defense you're playing. It's hard to
do that. I'll roll with the Lions tonight. I'll say this,
I am going to bite on the over. I know
it's high fifty two and a half. I think this
game has the potential for there to be a lot
a lot of points a shootout. In the end, I'll
(53:48):
roll with the Lions plus four and a half.
Speaker 4 (53:50):
In the over fifty two and a half.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Jared Goff struggles.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
I don't think he's throwing a touchdown in a three
starts against the Ravens in his career. What does that
mean this year or tonight? Not much, but still it's
a team that he struggles against. And on the flip side,
Lamar Jackson has thrid against NFC competition twenty four and two.
Plays well on Monday Night football as well. He's got
a twenty and six record in primetime, which is best
(54:15):
record by any quarterback at least with ten primetime starts.
And it's just one of those spots where I'm like
having a hard time backing the Lions.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
But I would love to see a good game.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
I'd love to see this go over to total and
this way, everybody's cashing in their same game parlays. Let's
get some wins there. I do like Derrick Henry to
continue to run the football. I think he's gonna get
it going and possibly break one hundred. I saw the
number was like at eighty five. So if you're dangling
a number like that for me, for Derrick Henry, I'm
definitely buying there if you made me make a selection.
Speaker 3 (54:46):
I like the Ravens to win this game.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
Four and a half just feels like one too many points.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
But I do like the Ravens.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
And if you don't think that the Lions are gonna
win this game, they could, So that's just a tough one.
I would probably look at the more than anything, maybe
a team total from the Ravens perspective here, as that
is probably floating around what thirty.
Speaker 4 (55:09):
I gotta pull it up.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Yeah, yeah, twenty nine and a half. Twenty nine and
a half for the Ravens. So do they get the
thirty thirty mark on the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
I would say yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
I say yes. I think we do see some fireworks.
I think Zay Flowers finds a way to score a touchdown.
I think Lamar gets it going, and but I do
like the Lions to do do well as at the
same time. So that's why I think this is a
tight game. I'll stay away from the spread. I'm passing
on the four and a half. Give me the over
on the thirty for the Ravens. Give me a touchdown
(55:44):
for Jay Flowers and give me over on Derek Henry
eighty five rushing yards.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
I like it.
Speaker 5 (55:51):
I'm gonna roll Jamiir Gibbs over fifty five and a
half rushing yards. I thought that line was a little low,
and another Ravens defense is better than the Bears defense.
But he had ninety four rushing yards last week against
the Bears. Thought the line was a little low. It's
the first thing it really stuck out, honestly.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
And then I'll probably.
Speaker 5 (56:13):
Throw that together, maybe with a Gibbs touchdown or Derrick
Henry in there as well. But I am gonna bite
probably heaviest on the over. I just really want there
to be a ton of points and I'm gonna root
for him.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Anything from college football catch your attention this weekend.
Speaker 3 (56:32):
How about Indiana football.
Speaker 5 (56:34):
Didn't get to watch it, but I saw Indiana late
the Hammers on whoever.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
They've got that wrong? Illinois, Yeah, we got a good way. Hey,
next Saturday, we got unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (56:44):
Gigs play big slate State Oregon.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
Oh yeah, Auber Alabama, Georgia.
Speaker 5 (56:51):
Give me every ounce of Oregon, every bit of the plus.
Speaker 4 (56:56):
Whatever it's at. Give me it.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
Luke Arcaney, always a fat hour with you here on
a Monday.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
You're the best.
Speaker 2 (57:03):

Speaker 3 (57:08):

We'll talk a little college football. Get you caught up
on some of the big items from the weekend.
Speaker 4 (57:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
At the top of the list, Indiana, eow, slow it down.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
That came is over as soon as it kicked about
as wrong as you can get.
Speaker 3 (57:35):
A game that felt very TCU.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
Georgia like in the National Championship a couple of years
ago when I picked TCU and it was over as
soon as the game kicked off.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
Good grief. That was not fun. Stupid.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
We'll go over some of the Heisman odds potentially are
involving Indiana.
Speaker 3 (57:56):
You'll be interested to hear who.
Speaker 2 (57:58):
Is now the number two betting Oh, by the way,
Carson Beck in Miami.
Speaker 3 (58:03):
All they do is continue to win in a big way.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
Ryan Beef speaking of people that oh apologies on this
show on this network. Sean Maynard's He's backing out. He
can't apologize to Justin Herber. He's gotta hold it on
until the end of the season because he continues to say,
wait to the playoffs, Wait to the playoffs. All right,
it's September, but Ryan beef Coyle, you got to come
out and apologize to the you.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
The great fans down there.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Oh, they were supposed to be a disaster this year,
I believe, he said, uh uh. And it starts and
ends with that defense. We'll talk some college football on
the other side. We'll get more in depth as far
as Monday Night football is concerned. And of course I
can't get enough of what took place in the Lincoln
Financial Field with the Philadelphia Eagles battling back and winning
(58:51):
the way that they did yesterday. Incredible game. Get involved
in the conversation at Fox PHL Gambler that Fox PHL
