Speaker 1 (00:00):
Number one on your car radio preset hand the new
and improved. Iheard radio ads and w D two seven
three deep Philadelpia, I is Fox Sports Radio to Gambler,

(00:33):
what to swing in a.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
High fly ball deep right center field. That one's up
the alley on the run call. He won't get it.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
It's gone.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
And back and forth they go, and Bryce Harper with
a big rais of the fist, running around second base
as he's given the Phillies a five to four lead,
two balls, two strikes, bases loaded, two outs to pitch.
Swinging about to the first, Harper gloves it takes it
him south and the Phillies take the National League East

(01:03):
Division crown. It's their second straight Divisional crown. As the
Phillies come running out of the dugout and share hugs
on the pitchers mound at Dodgers Stadium.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Oh how about that.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Day it takes a shot down field too wide open.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
TOUCHT.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
I don't know, I don't know how that got in there.
I have no idea how that got in there.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Anyways, Good afternoon, everybody, It's the Daily Ticket with too
you here on the Gambler Chambras Sha Bernard.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Every Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Throughout the course of the football season, and as you
heard before, I did play that Chargers little clip of course,
justin Herbert looking like the MVP through two weeks.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Hey now, hey, now the Phillies.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
They finally clinched the NL East and back to back seasons,
the earliest that this team in franchise history has ever
clinched a division. You gotta love that, all I know, Like,
I hate to be this type of guy. To start, obviously,
we had to dial up Luke Arcane to join us.

(02:16):
Does a great job covering the Phillies for us here
on The Gambler, and you can read all of his
fine work over at crossingbroad dot com as he paints
the picture for the Phillies throughout the course of this season.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
I hate to be that guy. But one of the.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Things that was going through my mind was Michael Barkan
when he said that this team was a disgrace like
a month ago and he's on the postgame show and
it's just like, so the reason why I'm thinking that
was because how fun is it to watch the Phillies
play all year long?

Speaker 6 (02:47):
Like?

Speaker 4 (02:47):
How fun is it?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Now?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
It is?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
It is a like it brings me joy to sit
down and watch this team compete. The Harrison baters right
the you know, the Bryson stop feeling it, filling for
Trey at shortstop, Harper going yard of course, sworeber, how magical,
how perfect, how perfect was he was that he goes

(03:10):
yard before in the first inning of last night's game
as they clinched, like so many things are coming together
and yeah they've sure they blew it in the ninth
inning and of course had to win an extras. But like,
this team has been a joy to watch all season
long for me. And if you have not been in
that driver's seat with me, if you have not been
riding shotgun with that viewpoint this whole season, then I

(03:34):
feel for you. I do if you are of the
Michael Barkin caliber where there has been a point this
season where they were disgraceful, like it's just an idiotic take,
and here we are clinching the division, Like, let me
just repeat that. As disgraceful as it was this year,
this is the earliest that this team has ever clinched

(03:55):
the division of franchise history. Yeah, that's disgraceful. Nobody wants
that anyways. Luke Arcandy joining us, Luke shann Bnard taking away. Luke,
you go first, and what was your thoughts because I
know you were up late watching that one.

Speaker 6 (04:07):
Dude, Let's break out the beer bongs for day two.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Let's go get it roll, let's go.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
I'll tell you what if there if there's one guy
on this earth that's a little hungover right now, I
promise you it's David Robertson.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
I don't have a forty year old thing with them
boys anymore. No, it was a it was a thriller
last night. I think it was just the very Phillies
with I think the clinch it.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
You know, their their big deadline acquisition comes in in
the ninth and looks so good. In the first at bat,
he looked unstoppable. I forget it might have been Michael Conforto.
And then Duran makes the bad decision to shake off
JT and then hangs a curveball and the rest history there,
and then you know, it's kind of funny and it

(04:54):
felt a little poetic to me that the the reliever
that the Phillies just signed from money in the middle
of July that a lot of people thought was stupid
and too much money for a guy that's forty years
old and was never really that great. Here comes into
the tenth and strands the ghost runner on second to
clinch the division. I'll tell you this, watching watching your

(05:18):
team and and teams your root for all year, and
teams you cover all year, watching them celebrated division never
gets old.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
Nope, you know, seeing them on the TV last night and.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
Just it's it's just guys are kids, man, like all
of them. They're just little kids that are really good
at baseball. That's all it is. I mean, Stubbs had
a double funnel last night. Apparently he brought two funnels
to La, not just one.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
They were partying.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Listen, if Stubbs wasn't there, there wouldn't have been a
funnel there last night, and we wouldn't have got videos
John Middleton funnel and beer in the Dodgers clubhouse last
night on the team.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
Yeah, I mean, I don't really see why else.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
You need a mess your ceremonies every once in a while, man,
you need someone to hand out.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, it was just it was an
incredible win, felt like a win that you know, if
somehow there's still people that doubt this baseball team after
clinching the division for the earliest they ever have in
the history of the franchise. If you sat there and
you watched all ten innings last night and you don't
think this team can win the World Series if they

(06:24):
play their best in October, then I don't really know
what to tell you at this point.

Speaker 8 (06:28):
Yeah, And I think to like the overall point here
is like the beauty of baseball as a sport when
you talk about from a fandom perspective, is these are
your guys at night in and night out. That this
isn't like football that it's once a week, or this
isn't you know, limited games. It's basically every night you
can flip on a Phillies games. So you got to
live through the highs and lows that come with the season.
And I think there were a ton of dipping points
where people were ready to get off the ship this year,

(06:48):
but nonetheless they did pull through it. And I also
don't think we should forget the dark days of Phillies
baseball before this era, before Bryce Harper, before Kyle Schwarzer.
For a couple of years, yeah, there were some miserable years.
So the fact that this is almost like the norm
for this Phillies team is still something that I think
we should.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Not get like taken for granted. No it doesn't. And
even when you say this is the norm, I'm like
really like.

Speaker 8 (07:09):
I don't know how to say that they were a
checond team to clinch in baseball, like seventy clinch playoffs
in baseball, Like this is just a legitimately very good
baseball franchise and should be recognized.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Back back to back division championships and that never gets old.
I love that flag. I don't care. I get it.
People want the big flag out in the outfield. Of
course the World Series championship, but you know, all those years,
I just think about how the Braves dominated this division,
and yeah, I would like a little of that, you know,
regardless if you're not able to win it all, this
is one of the if not the toughest sport to do.

(07:41):
So to become a champion, but to win a division
throughout the course of one sixty two when you're competing
against your your your your main rivals all season long,
including the Mets and the Braves, like, it doesn't get
any better than that. So they go on the road
and win against the Dodgers. Yes, celebrations, the champagne was popping,
the buds were being bound, the lights were strapped up,

(08:01):
and possibly if not, I would love to know what
was What is a smaller clubhouse in Major League Baseball?

Speaker 6 (08:08):
What do we I don't think there is one, dude
I said that last night it is. I mean, you
could barely fit twenty six guys in there at that point.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
It was bizarre, that's crazy.

Speaker 7 (08:19):
There were there was a there was clip last night
I saw.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
I think it was like Zelecki and gel They were
like taking a video of of like one of the things,
and then.

Speaker 7 (08:27):
They're like backed up against the wall, like like there
is there is not enough room in there for all
those guys last night.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
Listen, if the Phillies have to, you know, there's a
very good chance to Phillies see this team again. Yeah,
with the way that the postseason is set up right now,
if the Phillies got the buy and the Dodgers win
their first series, there's a very good chance that it's
Phillies Dodgers in the NLDS. So you know, this is

(08:55):
a team they're probably going to see again. This is
a clubhouse that you know they must be in again
and maybe a clubhouse they're going to be celebrating in again.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
So you know, they got a month.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
To make this thing bigger because if they be the
Dodgers in the NLDS, I think Stubbs might have three
funnels with them that weekend.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
You know what you do, You put the funnel up
in the roof and you say we're coming back for it.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
I like that, that's what you do.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
Yeah, well we'll be back, all.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Right, Luke, take us through what's next? You kind of
hinted at it. So there's still a lot to be
played for here, including the overall one seed, the best
the best record in baseball if I'm not mistaken, which
is currently owned possessed by the Milwaukee Brewers, but it's
very obtainable from the Phillies perspective.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
What do we need to know from this point moving
on here?

Speaker 6 (09:43):
Yeah, So, I mean, you know, the big focus right
now is that first round by and you know, when
I say that, that means either the one seed or
the two seed. Right now, they hold the two seed,
but as of right now, they're also only a game
and a half back of the Rowers, so that one
seed is still in play.

Speaker 7 (10:02):
I believe there's eleven games to go.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
For each team, So you know that overall one seed
in the National is still in play. But you know,
the main overall goal is to get that one of
those top two seeds.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
So right now, the magic number is seven.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
It was nine before last night, it went down to
seven as they beat the Dodgers.

Speaker 7 (10:25):
Here's where it gets a little funky.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
If the Phillies win tonight, the magic number actually goes
down to four and not five, because a win tonight
will give the Phillies the season series against the Dodgers,
which is basically an extra game. So if they win
one of these next two games, they win the season series,
and the magic number goes down three once they in

(10:50):
their next game.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
So basically, if.

Speaker 6 (10:54):
They were to win the next two games against the Dodgers,
it would go all the way down to two.

Speaker 7 (11:00):
They were to just win one, it would go down
to four.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
But you know, even with it right now, you know
if it goes down right now, if it's seven, it
goes down to four. This thing's basically over if it
goes If it stays at seven, you know, it's not ideal,
but it still leads to the Phillies side a little bit,

(11:24):
so you know they're in good shape.

Speaker 7 (11:26):
I didn't winning last night was big.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
I only thought about today was and I know they
can't get too cocky with this because there's no time
to get cocky right now. But I had a random
thought in my head last night, and I don't think
they were ever gonna do this, but I was thinking
about the Phillies potentially flip flopping Sanchez and Lozardo Jesus
Lozardo going today and Sanchez going tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
If they were to do that and they were to
win tonight, I would want.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
The Phillies to scratch Christopher Sanchez tomorrow and not pitch
him because I don't need the Dodgers seeing Sanchez two
and a half weeks before they play him again. Probably
doesn't seem like they're going to do that. It was just,
you know, a randomm.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
Thought is.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Yeah, yeah, and a little yeah. That was a little late,
big brain thought last night. I don't think they'd ever
do that. That would be a tad on the cocky side,
I think, But you know, it does kind of stink
because it would be awesome if Lozardo was tonight and
Sanchez was tomorrow, because I will say I think if
that was the case and they won tonight, I think

(12:35):
there's a possibility they would have scratched Sanchez tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (12:39):
I don't think they want to show any of their tricks.

Speaker 6 (12:42):
But that's not the case. So big one tonight, Sanchez
versus Tani. I'm waiting to see this line up. You
know a lot of the times you get that hangover
line up.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Apparently we do have our great friend Jose Perez, and
he says the Phillies are calling up Rafael Antigua the biggs, right, yo, Jose,
Jose comes with correct information, just to let you know
he's always checking in. I always love to see Jose
pop up from time to time here. Uh so maybe
that could be the case. I'm not familiar with the
raft thoughts, Onel, I'm not familiar with Rafael lentig was game,

(13:17):
but I do love the game Antique.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
I have to give that one a little look.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Here, all right, we will give that one a little
up just to set the table. Bout Sanchez versus Show
eight tonight Game two for those night owls out there again,
ten to ten pm minus one thirty seven Show hand
Draftings Sportsbook one plus one thirteen for Sanchez seven and
a half is our total there. Wow, that's a low number. Again,
I just want to point out, because I've been hit

(13:44):
up on few people have said should be better against
the Phillies. Do you bet against teams that celebrate last year?
I think I did that. I did that in a
number of cases last year, and I remember losing money
stoves one yard, didn't he I want to say that
that that sounds about right.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
Yeah, I ended up even money last I think it
was last year Stubbs had one home run and the
only game he had a home run and was the hangover.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Let's let's just be honest about what we're dealing with here.
These guys are professional athletes, okay, and it's not the
first time that they've had a couple pops the night
before and maybe let it go a little bit while
they're on the road. So if you think that that
is the handicap or the way the angle is, no,
I would totally disagree. And oh, by the way, the
backups right, like the backup's got to be saying themselves,

(14:28):
hey man, this is an opportunity for me to shine.
I know I'm playing tomorrow, Like all right, you know,
maybe it may be a topper, lets them know who.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Whatever it may be, So just as late as a
start as you could get as well for this game.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah, he's exactly easy on the I'm gonna take the
opposition here. I would just say, show Have versus Sanchez
should be a good game. We'll be paying attention to
that one.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
By the way, the futures on DraftKings Sports book, And
it's been this way for a little while now, because
if you watch television, to crawl will tell you who's
the favorite to win the World Series. The Phillies are
still holding that spot. Plus fifty to win the World
Series this year. Wow, the shortest odds on the board.
Plus five hundred for the Dodgers, Blue Jays eight to one,

(15:08):
Brewers eight to one, Tigers eight to one, Yankees, nine
to one, Mariners plus nine to fifty Padres plus thirteen hundred.
That just changed right when I was talking there. It
was twelve fiftieth, now thirteen hundred. And then Houston Astros,
who suffered a big time injury last night with your
Don Alvarez crossing the plate and spraining his ankle. Yeah,
I don't know how long he's gonna be out, but

(15:29):
he's been out for the whole season. They get him back,
and they're playing for some big, you know, big things
right now at this point in time of the season,
divisions on and so forth, and that would be a tough,
tough loss. But we'll stop at that point right there, Luke,
you got something to say.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
Here, Not yet.

Speaker 6 (15:45):
I am trying to just look at that right now, Refael.
I am seeing one or two tweets potentially about it.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Hey man, Jose lives on the farm. He lives on
the farm.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
I'm I am a little curious to see the lineup
tonight because you know, they've gone with these really funky
ones in the past when you know, the games after
they clinch don't really matter, but right now they still matter,
so you know, I think it'll be a mix. Harper
will probably be in there still. I can almost guarantee

(16:17):
Schwarboro probably be in there still. He's still on track
to play all one sixty two, so I'm assuming holding
in the lineup, but it'll probably be a little bit
of a mix tonight, but yeah, it should.

Speaker 7 (16:30):
Be a good one. I'm excited to see.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
This team matchup with show Hair. I haven't really watched
a ton of show Hay pitching games over the last
few weeks, so I'm excited to watch that night.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
All right, well ten ten tonight, let's go Phils as
they are back into the playoffs. Another red October Fast approaching,
and we'll be all over it right here on the Gambler,
of course, Luke R. Kenny leading to charge for us.
You can read all his content over crossing broad dot com.
I just saw Kyle Paigan put a post up that
we're running a cactus jacks Bang bang.

Speaker 7 (17:04):
Apparently, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (17:05):
After schber ripped the funnel last night, h Harrison Bader
looked at him and went bang bang, and then and
then everyone around him did it, So maybe that's their
new I don't know.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
You know, it's the stupid little it's the stupid things.
These exactly what you said.

Speaker 7 (17:21):
These are boys seven months season.

Speaker 6 (17:24):
They have to have stupid, dumb things to get them
through it.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
And bat is so perfect.

Speaker 8 (17:29):
Bader is so perfect for this whole team, man like,
he just like fits exactly the identity. From a play perspective,
He's been unbelievable. Bader very well might have been like
a missing piece we undersold the impact he would make
it the deadline.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
I will say he's speaking on the right.

Speaker 8 (17:44):
You know.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
I saw a question posed the the other day from
another radio station in Philadelphia, Sure, and I at first
I was like, all right, come on.

Speaker 7 (17:56):
Then I really thought about it. What wasn't what they said?

Speaker 6 (18:00):
Who, deep down do you think was a bigger trade
deadline acquisition for this team?

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Good question, Duran or Harrison Bader?

Speaker 7 (18:08):
And listen.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
I think the answer is durand I agree, but I
don't think.

Speaker 7 (18:13):
It's as much of a gap as people think it is.

Speaker 6 (18:16):
Like, Harrison Bader's been the best player on this team
since August first.

Speaker 7 (18:20):
Yeah, and when when the Philly signed him, the.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
General consensus, you know, two minutes later was like, all right,
Harrison Bader and one more. And he's been Bader and
that one more combined for them over the last month
and a half.

Speaker 7 (18:36):
He's he's been absolutely incredible.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
I think my answer might be better there.

Speaker 8 (18:41):
And it's kind of a similar principle that I think,
like the selling point to Duran was that you kind
of let allow the rest of the bullpen to settle
in and it's not as much pressure on stran kerk Kring.
There's the shakedown of what these guys' roles are. Feels
pretty similar with Beata in the outfield that you're talking about,
the platoon situation, which has been so excellent. And it's
insane to me to think back a couple of months
ago and to think that Nick Castianos might be the

(19:01):
guy on the outside looking in from like a outfield
perspective here, I would have never guessed that could have
remotely been the case.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
But that is a testament to the everyday player that
Baitter has been.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Was it thirteen or fourteen and saved chances this year?

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Did he blow one?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Or is that? Am I missing that number? Is that
not updated? I don't know.

Speaker 6 (19:19):
I think so he so he has so he's thirteen
for fifteen thirty. If he had the one, yeah, because
he had the one blown against the Mets. Yeah, And
he had the one last night. It's actually funny he's
he's only allowed two runs all year, and they've both
been at Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
It was the one last night and one I believe
it was middle of July.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
The Twins went to Dodgers Stadium and and he allowed
a home run.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
In the ninth.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Wow, it's a good pull.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
But yeah, I mean, the guy's been just absolutely incredible.
And you know, maybe that's why you don't shake off JT.
Because he didn't shake off j T the first batter
last night and it was boom, boom boom, shake JT
off and Bias absolutely smoked that baseball last night off
of DURAN. That those are the times where I don't

(20:09):
think stack cast is always accurate. They said that was
only four to twenty last night. I think that might
have went for sixty last night off of DURAN.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
That thing was a bomb.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Well it's funny, you know, hopefully nobody was crossing up
signals on that next pitch, you know, and trying to
hit JT in the chest with a fastball when he's
calling for the curve. But oh no, the Phillies roll
on to another playoff pursuit here as far as a
red October fast approaching nothing better, best time of the year, when,

(20:43):
of course the Eagles are winning and the Phillies are
back in the playoffs another straight season, four straight to
be exact. So a lot of fun coming down the
pike for us. We'll be all over it right here
on the gambler. Make sure you following Luke and of
course reading him over at Crossing broad dot com. Luke,
you're the best. I appreciate you hopping up on here
and uh we'll be busy man. You can't thank you enough.

(21:04):
I'll see boys there. He is Luke Arcaney. I know
Sean Bernard does some things for Crossing Broad as well.
What are you in general? Are you sixers now? I
bounce around a little bit.

Speaker 8 (21:13):
Yeah, primarily Sixers, and that'll be cranking up more as
we're finally hitting that point where you know, we're getting
some Joel embiid sightings training camp on the horizon, so
starting to jump up that that will be my main
lane to an extent. But I write some Phillies content,
write some Eagle stuff, so a little bit of everything,
whatever is needed.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
I'm working out. Would he be still Elton brand brighting
early over there? I'm a conto. Howking place, four thirty
five o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 8 (21:33):
Have you had any of your beginning to talk yourselves
back into the sixers moments yet?

Speaker 6 (21:36):
No?

Speaker 8 (21:37):
Joel and bid looking skinny didn't do it for you.
A six second video of him shoot a jump shot
didn't do it for you.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
No, not there yet.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Can't allow myself, won't allow myself, have to have to
allow I'm not in September. Hell no, not until the
Phillies win a World Series, right like, I'm not even
say eliminated.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Not until the Phillies are the last team standing.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Well, I ever start to think about the Sixers being
a good basketball team this year, and I see it
on the timeline our good friend RB, though RB Philly take.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Right on current socials.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
RB has a one on one coming up with Tyreese
MAXI that could play a little bit of a positive
force in my way of thinking about the seventy six
or that interview.

Speaker 8 (22:19):
And the quote that he's teasing with is from Maxie
that I just want to win.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah, yes, all right, you know so the Athletic hired
eight We always find a way to get into the NBA.

Speaker 8 (22:30):
Jones.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Yeah, the Athletic hired Tony Jones who was covering the Jazz.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
Yes, really good dude. I messaged back and forth from
a little bit. He was asking for cheese stek spots already.
So he's he's moved to Philly, he's made the move.
He's in in the area and a dude that knows
his stuff. He was all over Summer League, and I
think the expectation is like he's gonna be on the beat, straightforward,
the athletic. A guy who is in the know is
worth paying attention to.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
So I saw him going back and forth with a
lot of people, and my guy Philly Mike Diehard Sixer
fan and Tony Jones said that this is the most
important an Ye're the Embeid era, and it's like, all right,
Like that's with all love and respect. I just think
that that is forcing guy. I think I'm almost at
the point now that we have to look past Joel embiid.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
That's why I think it is the most important.

Speaker 8 (23:14):
This is a year that decides if the Embiid era
is still a thing or not.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
It's not going anywhere.

Speaker 8 (23:19):
He's not tradable, sure, but who are the keys to
the franchise.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
And Jared McCain and and the rookie of the v
thank you Edgecomb.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
But that's what this year will tell us more than anything.

Speaker 8 (23:32):
Like at the end of the day, even for the
optimism that I have in Jared McCain, Tyree Maxy VJ.
Edge Comb, here the chance is that any of these
guys individually can reach the heights. That Joel Embiid as
a talent is unlikely, Like that he's still the best
ticket to having a top five player in the NBA.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
You still have to like, you've already made the gambling.
The money's in the middle from the I.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Can't do it. I can't do a timeout. I need
a twenty. We're off the sixers. I can't do it
because I'm already getting the juice going. I'm starting to
bubble and I want to no, no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
I am with you, but it's just like, to me,
Embiide and.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Paul George are just one right now, and I can't
look at either one of them in a positive light.
That's just one man's take, as always here on the
Gambler or the Daily Ticket's just my take. That's it.
But we'll see, well, we will allow them to as
you say, check ball, let's toss it up and then
let's play some games. And you know, who knows, maybe

(24:29):
Joelle Ebid will play from the beginning of the season.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
There'll be no ramping up period. I don't know. He
doesn't pay off team, playoff team.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
All right, Yeah, you know they lose to the the
you know, the Knicks in the first round. One is
a gay not nothing. So oh no, though we got
plenty of time to talk about seventy six ers, we
always find a way nothing but NBA holes, NBA holes
on the Gambler here sham Minard and Sam Austrie loved
the sixers and of course the NBA. I'm kidding with that.

(24:56):
I've never heard that before until a week ago or
two week CEO when Sam Ostrey said it. I guess
it's a Bill Simmons teak NBA holes.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
I think that's good. That's a good stuff.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Yeah, I like that alright. With further adudo, let's let's
open up shop.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Here the daily ticket opening drive, no warm ups, no stretching,
just straight into the action.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
And then they run four.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Herbert has all day in the pocket, takes a shot
down field.

Speaker 9 (25:25):
Too wide open, caught Quint Justin touchdown, Chargers sixty yard touchdown,
curpert to.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Sound the alarms.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Justin Herbert and the LA Chargers with head coach Jim Harbaugh.
I don't want that to be just the your fine
print on the bottom of the screen. Jim Harbaugh is
a winner everywhere he goes in a cheater. He turned, well, hey,
look man, you ain't cheat and you ain't trying in Michigan. Sorry,

(26:03):
but you think that they would give that national championship away.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
No, they don't care one bit.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
And he's onto other you know, the new past years
out there in LA and he's got Justin Herbert slinging it.
And I think that they are the real deal because
of the head coach and that defense. That defense seems
like they are extremely improved albeit two games. Shout out
to Ryan beef Coyle who was like, remember the Saints
with two and oh last year, But yeah, that's the difference.

(26:30):
Jim Harbaugh is the head coach. You gotta give it
up to him. Justin Herbert is a good damn quarterback.
I know what your comeback is going to be. Show
me what he does come playoff time. But guess what,
You're road in the playoffs get a hell of a
lot easier when you win the division. You're road in
the playoffs gets a hell of a lot easier when
you win games during the regular season. They are two

(26:50):
and oh, Shann Binard, both wins in the division, both
wins coming on the road, the Chargers are for real
this year.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
That makes one of us who believe all those sentences
that was just said by Sean brace There. Yes, that
is my automatic pushback is I just can't wait for
the bright lights to come on this justin Herbert Fellow,
and even last night in which they won.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Monday night football standalone, in a standalone game against the
Chiefs on Friday night in Brazil, is not the bright.

Speaker 8 (27:16):
Lights they like, justin Herbert Still, last night gave Gino
Smith every opportunity to take that game.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
We got bad Gino Smith last night was my takeaway.

Speaker 8 (27:25):
Three interceptions, including the one on the first play from scrimmage,
if they got the kickoff, which was just brutal from Gino,
he had a bunch of chances to take that game back.
We had him where we wanted him. From a Raiders' perspective,
you have the Chargers with the lead heading into the
fourth quarter. Did not go down the right way. I
do think the defense being legitimate is like a notable
takeaway that they are exceeding my expectations there. I do

(27:46):
think Keenan Allen can still play, and it's like a
pretty unbelievable receiving core that they've put together. This is
a team that, in theory should absolutely be a contender.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
It is up to justin.

Speaker 8 (27:55):
Herbert fully delivered that, yes they're to and oh there's
a lot of football still to be playing, and.

Speaker 4 (27:58):
They're doing it with all the wrong game, which is
very looks rough. Yeah he's he looks rough.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Of course. Nase's out there. Eight carries twenty eight yards.
Didn't really have too much expectation from Nase this this season,
but all another doing it without a run game. But
it's led by the defense. And I'm not here to
deny that one bit. That defense was awesome against the
Kansa City Chiefs, you know, just every three for three touchdowns,
got to give it up through for two last night,
got to give it up. But man, that defense is

(28:24):
all over the field and I just love it. Like
he jumps off the page, you could see it, right.
It feels like when you're watching the Eagles from last
year that these these defenders are all over making tackles,
buzzing around and it's not just one on one, it's
not two on one. It's gang tackled. It's four and
five guys just always around the ball and good things
happen because guess what ball is on the ground, They're

(28:44):
gonna pick it up.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
They opened up the game with an interception.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Yes it was bad gino, but that defense is putting
them into place to make those make those plays.

Speaker 8 (28:53):
By the way, Khalil mac arm break last night, if
that if it's officially diagnoses that it certainly seemed like
that nasty stuff.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Ye ugly he didn't want to see that one.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
But they kept showing it last night too.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
Yeah they did. Uh, since we are on that game,
before we move off, can Chris Fowler like take a day?
You know, at what point, as a producer or somebody
that's behind the scenes, do you say, dude, you are
going to be a distraction. And I want to be
fair here because we have to realize that there is
a lot of money that is up for grabs for

(29:24):
Chris Fowler. Now does he need it?

Speaker 4 (29:25):
It's easy for us to say no.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
But when your voice is so bad to the point
that I I didn't even know who it was, like,
who is this on the call? They're sick? Ah And
and oh, by the way, you got three guys in
the booth, I don't know you're gonna need somebody that's
able to do play by play, I understand it. Like
I don't think Lewis or.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Who knows or tagged in last night, Yeah, pretty exactly.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Or Alasky might have been able to make the the
slide over and it would have been interesting. But all
in all, like Chris Fowler was a takeaway from that
from that booth, like it was brutal and hey, to
get that money. I'm not here to deny it. And
of course you know the build up and everything that
goes into it. But when you don't have a voice
and your number one job is to call a game
and you need a voice, somebody.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
Needs to step in and say, hey, man, are we.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Sure about this? That's all. I think that there's probably
other things that are in line, and I don't know
if it's that easy with the union and all that,
to make that change. But obviously it was a little
bit of a distraction because it was pretty a heavy
topic on the timeline. Also, the Three Man Booth, I
just it felt like, you know, an hear enough from Orlowsky.

(30:34):
I love Lewis, I don't know, I'm just not a
fan of the Three Man Booth. I don't think you
need it.

Speaker 8 (30:38):
Yeah, I didn't think it was like an A plus
broadcast last night by any means. I also, were you
a portion of the population upset by the Tom Brady outlook?
Here him being in the booth with headset on next
to Chip Kelly as he you know, a couple hours
earlier was or the day before being in a broadcast booth.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Do you care about that? It doesn't look good. The
NFL doesn't care about it, clearly, you know. And it's
just like, all right, so we're gonna concentrate on the
tush push, but we're not gonna say anything about that.
I if you're a team that has the Raiders on
the schedule.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
The Bears, I believe.

Speaker 8 (31:11):
I believe it's next week that Brady does the Bears broadcast,
and then week four it's Raiders Bears.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
And I think I saw some like commanders too, if
I'm not mistaken. All I know is like, if you're
part of those coaches that meet with him and you
give him anything, then shame on you.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
Yeah you can't, you just can't.

Speaker 8 (31:28):
But I do think that's a conflict of interest, the
fact that that has to be considered to look good,
Like the fact that you as a head coach have
to walk into the meeting with the broadcast partners and think,
I gotta keep stuff close to the vest right now,
because who knows where this is getting back to. It's
just not a great thing all around. I'm more so
in this mindset, like you're Tom Brady. You've done everything
on a football fit, You've done everything in the football unifors.
Just pick a lane, man. If you want to be

(31:49):
involved with the Raiders, go do that. If you want
to broadcast, go do that. But I do think that
both is too much.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Yeah, it doesn't look good. It comes off a certain
type of way. I don't really think it means too
much other than the visual and it's not a something
that is really good right now for the league. And
they came out in common and they said he's not
breaking any rules and this and this and that, and
I'm like.

Speaker 8 (32:11):
But it's one of those things like why would there
be a role for that? They're like, this should be
like a common sense type of role. I get, why
would you think ahead for this specific situation.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
I would just say that if I'm one of those
teams and they're like, hey, you got to meet with
Fox I'd be like, I'm not meeting with Tom Brady,
and then I just don't think anybody should have an
issue with that, right, Like, I just I'm not going
to meet with Brady. I'll meet with, you know, anybody else,
but I'm not going to meet with Brady. It's not
Kevin Burke. Yeah, Kevin Burkhart, Burkhart and Brady. So you know,

(32:41):
like if that's the case, then so be it. But
all in all, I would not meet with Brady. But
you're right. It was definitely something that was discussed in
the timeline a lot last night. With that being said, though,
back to the wagering side of things, the Chargers were
to play. They were three and a half point favorites.
Of course, Kyle Fisher was with me yesterday. We did
say if we had to pick the game, we would

(33:02):
have went with the Chadges given three and a half,
and that one just wasn't buying what the Raiders were selling.
I thought that it was a really good win against
the Patriots on the road, but the Chargers are for
real and I wanted to see them prove it again.
I didn't think that they would have an issue and
Gino through three interceptions made life hell of a lot
easier and the Chargers were the play. Now to the

(33:22):
early game seven o'clock, the best in the business, Joe Buck,
Troy Aikman, and a pretty darn good game too as well.
Twenty nineteen came down to the wire. One of those
games that we said, hmmm, why are the Houston Texans
favored here? And they went up late and that was
about to blow up in our face. But you got
to give credit where credit is due, and I know

(33:44):
Baker Mayfield is the truth. And as far as successful
quarterbacks in the last two three seasons, he is top three.
You look at the numbers across the board, but wow,
do they have us stud in Bucky Irving. Bucky Irving
is a bad man. Get him the rock and get
out the way. He only went for seventy one yards.
He did have a couple of grabs fifty yards, but

(34:06):
that he had two one run, one catch late that
he is just pushing fools off, getting down the field
and extending plays.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
And it is a it's a huge.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
Pick by them last year to get him on the team,
get him involved, and you're seeing that he maybe not
be paying off as far as fantasy where he was drafted.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
But you want to talk about.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Somebody that is tough as nails, that is, you know,
pulverizing you and just you know, affecting the game all
the way through the full four quarters. Yeah, try stopping
him Bucky Irving on seventeen carries and that's gonna have
a lasting effect. They got themselves a really good offense again.

Speaker 8 (34:44):
Yeah, and the wide receiving group, the mecha Boku who
he brings to that group. Mike Evan's still doing it,
Chris Guy when coming back, Like there's just a ton
of talent, and Baker Mayfield it is just a gangster
man like him. The where he almost got hurt and
then immediate it looked like he got hurt, then he
immediately's up talking trash to CJ. Gardner Johnson, you love
it there, Like that's the type of quarterback that it's

(35:04):
impossible not to root for. And it's so cool to
see like his personality so reflective on the team and
like Baker directly right here has more toughness about him,
more personality about him than the entire Cleveland Browns organization.
Oh yeah, and it's so crazy to think about how
this guy was cast aside as a bust not that
long ago. He's one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
And there's no other way to slice that.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
No, you're right about that. As far as touchdowns, I
think it was he's now I think it's the last
two seasons. It might have been the last three, but
Goff topped him with his great day on Sunday. But
then after what Baker did last night, he is now
number one at that list most touchdowns stro and I
want to say last two seasons. It's Look the I
can't sit here and tell you that I have always

(35:46):
been a Baker guy. But there is one thing that
I've always said is that he is a cool dude.
And I would imagine that him as your quarterback. That
is something that would galvanize you. You like, you want
to play for he's got fighting offensive lineman, Like you
want to believe in him, You want to be there
for him, You don't want to let him down, You
want to make plays for him. He is that type

(36:07):
of dude. Oh, by the way, where he was drafted,
you know he's got the athleticism, the skills to make
the plays. So it's not a surprise but it is
really interesting to go back and look at what took
place in Cleveland and oh, by the way, when Odell
Beckham's dad had everybody believing that Baker Mayfield was the
problem there.

Speaker 8 (36:25):
And by the way, not just Cleveland, like this dude
had a chance in Carolina, the whole two Yeah, Carolina, Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
He was on for a hot minute, even the the
I remember that the Rams. I know he was on
the Rams, but you know the Rams at staff.

Speaker 8 (36:37):
And it was like the if I remember this correctly,
like they signed him on like a Thursday and had
him starting by Sunday or something.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Like that for that game. But through a touchdown yeah, yeah,
like he did stop.

Speaker 7 (36:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (36:47):
So I mean, it's just kind of crazy, like we're
always quarterbacks are going to dominate the conversation and there's
always gonna be the over the top, over the top
takes in every direction with him. I think we do
have to show a bit more patience, and I think
Baker is a prime example of that. Daniel Jones another
prime example that, by the way.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Indiana joneses in the Indianapolis Colts. Yeah, we'll talk some
power rankings coming up a little bit later in the program.
Baker Mayfield on winning a close game last night.

Speaker 7 (37:13):
These two minute close games.

Speaker 10 (37:15):
We were not on the right side of things for
the past couple of years, and it's good to see
that we haven't even played close to our best ball
in all three phases and we're still finding ways to
win on the road.

Speaker 7 (37:25):
And that's really important is to not.

Speaker 11 (37:28):
Lose sight of that we're finding ways to win, but
also we do need to get things fixed some of
these games. We can make it easier on ourselves and
try and put the teams way earlier. But this is
a good team that we played, so we expected a
hard fought battle. But yeah, it's nice to be on
the right side of it.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Yeah, it is. The Houston Texans are a good team
that was a team that was in need of a
win after losing their first game against the Rams. Now
they're zering to something else. We're going to talk about
who should be panicking now and two early in this season,
but it comes down to the Tampa Bay Bucks that
needs to be the focus at this point in time,
and in a division that I think they have won

(38:05):
four straight in pursuit of a fifth straight NFC South title.
They are currently right now minus two to fifty five
on Draftings Sports Book. If you remember game one week
one against the Falcons was a really good game there.
Falcons went on the road and beat the Minnesota Vikings.
But if you had to ask me right now is
gonna win that division, It's going to be the Bucks
with the leg up. I was not saying that preseason.

(38:26):
I had the Falcons plus two to fifty right here. Yeah,
the Bucks look like they're the real deal again this year.
And of course, as I said, open it up the
season two.

Speaker 8 (38:35):
And oh yeah, and by the way, like both those
teams still make the playoffs that I do think the
Falcons are going to be a postseason team. I think
Tampa Bay it's fair that they, you know, the owners
of the throne at this time in the game. Michael
Panix to me is one of the more positive takeaways
for the start of the season. I think he is
the real deal. I think that Atlanta got their guy
for their foreseeable future and have been very impressed with
what he's put forth on the field to this point.

(38:56):
So I'm not selling any Falcon stock. At the same time,
as of hyping up the bucket, all right, we.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Got a lot to get to, and Sham Banard and
I are going to debate some of the NFL topics
that are happening right now, and of course we got
so much going on as far as the best team
through two weeks, who's the real MVP front runner. I
want to talk a little bit about Lamar Jackson. Is
it finally going to be his year? They got a
tough test coming up on Monday night against the Detroit Lions,

(39:24):
Trevor Lawrence. We'll be talking about some coaches and also
some betting aside debates as well when it comes to
some divisions and conferences.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
So a lot to get to.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
But of course at Fox pH Gambler on Socials you
can find the streaming on the iHeartRadio app and while
you're there and make us a preset so you never
miss a minute. We got so much going on these days,
and we'll continue right here on the other side.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Don't whatever more daily take it after.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
This Thanks Day. Taking with you here on a Tuesday,
shap Hard, we got you a lot to get into,
of course, opening up the show with those fightings, finding
a way to get the job done on the road

(40:10):
and winning a tough, tough ballgame against the LA Dodgers.
If you missed it last night, here's how it sounded
on the Phillies radio network as they clinched another in
L East title.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Two balls, two strikes, bases loaded, two outs to pitch,
Swinging a boucher to first, Harper gloves, it takes it
himself and the Phillies take the National League East Division crown.
It's their second straight divisional crown. As the Phillies come
running out of the dugout and share hugs on the

(40:42):
pitchers mound at Dodgers Stadium.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
Oh it sounded good, seaman Ard. You stay up late
last night.

Speaker 4 (40:48):
I did. I was locked in a little bit more
on the Chargers team.

Speaker 8 (40:51):
I would admit, though, I had some stakes for myself
and that the Justin Herbert fight will live on in
my brain. So I was flipping back and forth, but
I won't lie. I was a little more tapped in football.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
Oh man, I was out like a light. I made
a quarter in that Chargers game and that was it.
That was done. And yeah, because the ten o'clock the
first game ended, and it was perfect timing because like
the Phillies just started. Yeah, and I'm just.

Speaker 5 (41:13):
Like ooh, I'm an inning in into this and the
eyes are already heavy, and it's it's been a long
forty eight since we got back from Penn State, and
you know, oh no, I'm like, all right, let me
get some rest here.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
I know the alarm's coming going to be going off
bright and early. With that being said, a lot of
diehards up early and watching the game. Of course, it
was a great game, Harper hitting the home run, of course,
the blown save, and then the Phillies getting the job
done winning six to five bases loaded a matter of
fact for the Dodgers, but won out, I want to say,

(41:47):
and still to win that game in the bottom of
the ten, So a lot of drama between those two teams.
I went and got a Starbucks iced coffee on my
way in, and as I was walking in, as I
were my Phillies cat guys like you stay up late
last night, and I'm like, I want to lie to you, Sarah,
but I did, and I was like, oh, you missed
a thriller. They don't rub it in. Shout out to
cousin Nikki checking and he said, everybody hit that like

(42:10):
button subscribe if you haven't already we're twelve subs from
one k. How about that, people, let's go that's breaking
news right there. We're twelve subs from one thousand. It
would be nice to see if we can get that
job done before we get out of here. As we're
going till six pm, we'll take you right up to

(42:32):
the Mark Ferrante Coaches Show live from Chicken's Pete's in Malvern.

Speaker 4 (42:36):
That should be a fun one today. Yes.

Speaker 8 (42:39):
And by the way, since we can't really touch on
it on the Villanova showing itself, what a cover in Wow,
in All Timer in Villanova and Penn State, the plus
forty eight and a half I believe was the number
there coming down to the wire. I think they scored
a touchdown twice personally in the Villanova at the end there,
but nonetheless in insane cover and All Timer.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
Yeah, and I told the story yesterday. I was very
honest as Offternam with the listening audience. And you know, look,
you don't want to put it out there that we
left the game early, but it was. It was an
interesting game day experience up there at Penn State. They
are going through some issues with this construction. That's just
as fair as I could be, but it was. It
was brutal and the lines were ridiculous. So we got

(43:18):
out at about halftime when they were down twenty four
to nothing. I was starving, I know the boys were
hungry and thirsty as well. So we ended up heading
downtown to a wonderful spot I think the place Brothers
was it correct, and we got a table, got some
great food, and we were literally the only people in
there with Villanova plus forty eight and a half. And

(43:39):
it wasn't like we were obnoxious because the score was
the score, but everybody was watching it with like the
place was filled.

Speaker 4 (43:47):
It's forty what was it?

Speaker 3 (43:49):
It was fifty two to nothing, Yeah, it was fifty
two to nothing. It's fifty two to nothing, and everybody
was watching. They're not watching because they're diehard Penn State fans. No,
they're watching because they know the number. Forty eight and
a half. Doesn't mean that everybody had to play on
it doesn't mean that everybody's betting on Penn State.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
I'm just telling you.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
That everybody was watching, and when it happened, the play
itself had everybody just their jaws in the ground, and
then of course, the big gasp of air, like, oh
and here our table is high five and going nuts.
I think I recorded it on a video and I
missed myself.

Speaker 4 (44:26):
Yeah, it was great.

Speaker 3 (44:27):
It's perfect timing. But what a day. And of course
I'm gonna give a shout out to our friends, our
partners over there at play Fly. Great job across the board.
Friday show was great. That have Mark Farante coach roll
through and just having the red carpet rolled out for
us as play Fly did for both Villanova and Penn State.
A fantastic weekend. And now look, Penn State's got to
hit the fast forward button get ready for Oregon. It

(44:49):
is going to be a tough game. And I know
Penn State is good. I Organ's really good though, and
it's gonna be a tough battle. But it's a wide
out home game for the Nittyllions. We'll see.

Speaker 4 (45:00):
Yeah, and I know the number like obviously ended a
Penn State blow out.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
There.

Speaker 8 (45:03):
There was a minute where I was like, Okay, Villanove
was keeping this a game or half? Yeah, the first half,
especially the third quarter, is when really things broke open there.
But that first half, like there was a moment where
it was I think they were up seventeen and it
was like Noah was driving. They if they tie it there,
then we're talking about a ten point game like there was.
It didn't feel as dead as the number indicates or
the final score indicates. There that I think Noviad deserve

(45:24):
some credit for at least scrapping in the first half.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
I think that's exactly what coach Fronte is going to
say today live from Chickens and pezz in uh Malvern. Yeah,
Oregon has Oregon State this weekend and then they'll have
Pens or then they have Penn State. At twenty seventh,
did we leave really, Cousin Nicky was fifty two to nothing?
Like kill Dog? Did we leave early? Fifty two to nothing?

(45:48):
Bro Like, come on man, you know like it was
hot if we were up there, I'm telling you. At halftime,
I went to go get a drink, and the line
went to go get a drink right before halftime and
use the facility. I'll just put it to you that way.
And the line to get a drink was not It
wasn't real. It's just was like, all right, Nope, that's

(46:10):
not going to happen. And then the bathroom line was
and I'm just like, all right, I've had enough. I'm out.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
I'm out.

Speaker 3 (46:17):
I'm out, I'm out.

Speaker 4 (46:18):
And then we get a nice text from Bray saying,
I'll meet you at the car. I'll meet you at
the car.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
Guys like and I met two dudes that were awesome
right behind us, had ice cold beer. There was a
tailgate lot right where we were parked, so I had
some facilities. And you know, the cool thing was, they're
the big jumbo tron of a TV right next to
the RV. They had the game on. So come on, man,
I'm out in the lot hanging out with a couple
of dudes. It was a good time, a beautiful day

(46:42):
up there in Happy Valley. We will talk some college
football here. We will get into a little of that
as far as the numbers are concerned, the big games
and everything that we have coming up over here in
the next few days. But I do want to get
into the NFL and of course what we have going
on with some of the debating topics now coming up.
At four o'clock, we'll do Tuesday Tells, and we like

(47:05):
to look at the numbers. We like to go from
the opening number that they come out on Sunday night
to see where we're at at this point in time,
what's happening, where we need to be paying attention as
far as the number movement, all that and more. I
will tell you, though, Shamanard. Right now, a lot of
these numbers are focusing on the injuries of a number

(47:26):
of quarterbacks across the league, and we have detailed these
and in depth yesterday with Joe Burrow and JJ McCarthy,
Jaden Daniels as well on Thursday. I did skip over
the brock Purty deal, who's dealing with a toe and
a shoulder, doesn't seem like he's going to be back
anytime soon, and Justin Fields with the concussion add him
to the mix as well. So you have five quarterback

(47:48):
injuries that are pretty good with good teams out there,
except for the Jets that are going to have an
effect on the number, and none more that I want
to focus on than the forty nine ers because Mac
Jones made me a believer, albeit against the Saints, but
Mac Jones made me a believer, and I think there's
value there because Mac Jones knows the system plays well,

(48:10):
and I think Kyle Shanahan has not put him in
any dangerous situations. They have the Cardinals coming up here
on Sunday, the twenty first of four to twenty five.
Right now, the forty nine ers are a point and
a half favorite. Forty four and a half is our
total in there.

Speaker 8 (48:22):
What exactly do you mean by mac Jones made you
a believer? Like can win this game? Or you're in
on the mac Jones experience?

Speaker 4 (48:28):
No, no, no, yah, can win the game? Over in
the game.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
All you want from a backup quarterback is to win
you a game. Well you did that. And I'm not
a believer in the Cardinals, So I think I'm looking
at that number and that number makes you want to
believe in the Cardinals a little bit more. But I
think there's some value here and I think the odds
makers are undervaluing mac Jones.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
Yeah, I don't hate that take, I know we had.

Speaker 8 (48:49):
I love the discussion we had on Friday talking about
is it Kevin O'Connell or Kyle Shanahan is the most
quarterback friendly system or a guy that can make basically
any guy work. Well, both coaches are now being asked
to do exactly that. We got the Carson Wentz experience
in Minnesota and of course Mac Jones out there in San.

Speaker 4 (49:03):
Francisco, so yeah, we're gonna see it. I'm with you that.

Speaker 8 (49:06):
I just don't think this Chargers team has much to
be perfectly honest, Kyler Murray, I felt look better.

Speaker 3 (49:10):
To this wall. Look at you, Look at you. You
can't help yourself, you said, Chargers.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
Did I the Cardinals? Yeah, you can't help yourself. But
little Freudian, yeah you did, Yeah you did.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
I'm sorry. My finger just slipped again.

Speaker 4 (49:24):
And they're running for purps all day. In the pocket
takes a shot.

Speaker 9 (49:27):
Down field too wide open, cod quint justin to.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
Got Maybe people have no idea why I keep playing
that Shampannard is the most anti justin her fan out there,
or anti fan, if I can.

Speaker 4 (49:43):
Put it to say, realist, just realist.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
Yeah, exactly, never wrong, just early sometimes, yeah exactly.

Speaker 4 (49:50):
We'll check in with me in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
There you go. Yeah, Mac Jones, I know that they
beat the Saints, but he looked good in that game,
and I just am starting to buy a little bit
of the Shanahan wanted him, knows what he can do
with him, and that is an intriguing game from the
standpoint of the division, and if they can continue to
win with him in there as a starting quarterback over

(50:13):
and get a healthy brock perty back in the mix,
we'll see, We'll see what happens. And I think that's
the question we need to be asking ourselves because the
forty nine ers, and we know they have an improved defense, mccafficka,
remain healthy watch out. I know that they're dealing with
some injuries to Kittle and au Auk excuse me, Ayuk,
Randon Ayuk, but you know you're getting some other players

(50:34):
back in the mix that can go ahead and help
you at the wide receiver position. So we'll see, we'll
see what happens.

Speaker 8 (50:39):
But yeah, well half, And it's interesting like San Francisco
is a team that was pretty much perennially in the
Super Bowl conversation these last couple of years and then
basically had one of those everything that could go wrong
did go wrong years last year and they've sort of
a toss to the side this season.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
Now.

Speaker 8 (50:52):
I'm not like super you gotta buy a forty nine
er stock and I'm the biggest brock party guy whatsoever,
but it is strange to me that they've just kind
of and viewed off the map to an extent, which
I don't think they necessarily deserve that. So we'll see
if they can stay afloat during this mac Jones stretch,
bring back brock Pardy, and find their full gear heading
me on the stretch, they could be a dangerous team.

Speaker 4 (51:11):
So I'm not counting them out completely.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
Yeah, well, that's what happens when you do only win
what five games last year three and fourteen. It was
in my head though they won one, two, three, four,
five six. They won six games last year, they ended
on a four game losing streak to the Rams, the
Miami Dolphins, the Detroit Lions, and then the Cardinals got
him a forty seven to twenty four So not a

(51:34):
lot to like six and eleven season, and maybe that's
why we wanted to forget. But McCaffrey was banged up
immediately from the start of the season. Having him in there,
no doubt about it. We know what his potential is.
So if they could keep him healthy, I think that's
only going to lead to bigger and better things for
the forty nine ers this year. Nobody wants that, but
we're just being honest with our assessment and we will

(51:55):
do that more on the other side, what Tuesday tells
a feature here on the Daily Ticket Tuesdays with sham
Manard and myself, we're gonna look at the opening lines
of all things NFL week three.

Speaker 4 (52:07):
Compare them to where we're at right now.

Speaker 3 (52:09):
Take a guess at where we'll be at on Sunday
for kickoff, oh, by the way, and Thursday for the
Bills and Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
We flex?

Speaker 3 (52:20):
Is it too early to flex?

Speaker 4 (52:22):
It gonna be a blowout? Basically where your head's at.

Speaker 3 (52:25):
I don't want to watch the Dolphins. Yeah, twelve and
a half points spread.

Speaker 4 (52:30):
Take the twelve and a half. You know you're gonna
take the Dolphins. No, I think that the Bills laid
the lumbering.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
In there exactly. Give the twelve and a half. You're
right about that, all right? Shamanar with me here on
a Tuesday. Give involved to the conversation at Fox PHL
