Speaker 2 (00:25):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Johnson to the near side, trips to the far side.
Final play of the game, four seconds to go, fourth
and goal from the eighth Isaiah right to the right
of Maddox. Maddox gets the snap back to pass, trying
to buy some time, rolling to his right, he's at
the ted.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
He throws to the end.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Zone and can he make.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
An incredible catch in the back.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Of the end zone?
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Big cows game made unabsolutely spectacular catch. Touchdown Villanova on
the final play of this football game.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
You want to play by.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
Maddox throws across his body and Pinkowski with one hand.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Right at the goal post, goes up and gets it
and pulls it down. Oh, I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
And of course the great Ryanan Fannin and Steve Panon
on the call live from Beaver Stadium. You heard that
call right here on the Gambler, your home for Villanova
football and basketball. Again, a big deal for the program
going out there competing the way they did in the
first first half. Look, I get it. Got a little ugly.
Bottom line is if you watch that game, if you
(01:38):
were there, you saw the extreme differences in body size.
And that's what it comes down to. Man, It's the
haves and the have nots at that level. So good luck.
That's why that app State Michigan loss makes it even
like more crazier to think about, as it is the
number one upset in college football history. But on all
(01:59):
you know, you got to you gotta take what you
can get from that game, build off it as much
as possible, throw away the tape, and always remember that
Bankowski will be a household name for Villanova families and
friends and fans for the rest of time. Bink Kowski,
you're pointing out the television, what do we got. I'm
(02:20):
looking at these quarterback rankings from Nick Right?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Oh, Nick Right quarterback rankings.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
Hang on, let me give you a breaking news sound,
because if there's somebody that always gets it right, it's
Nick Right.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Go ahead.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
Well, this is what has led to my justin Herbert
Hatred directly is we have Jalen Hurts in the fourth
tier of quarterbacks alongside Jordan Love, Dak Prescott, and I
believe had his cutaway from the screen I forget who
the and Baker Mayfield was the third in that tier
of four above him was Justin Herbert Matt Stafford, and
I'm gonna have to find his full rankings here to
(02:54):
the point being here, there you go, I'm not there
we go? So he his Lamar is one, Patrick Mahomee
and Josh Allen in the second tier, Baker Mayfield, Justin
Herbert and Matt Stafford in the third tier, and then
Jalen Hurts, Jordan Love, Jared Go Dak Prescott in the
fourth tier. I just can't take the Justin Herbert over
Jalen Hurt stuff. Ever, he's not a better quarterback. You
(03:17):
don't think that could change? I would love to see
it change.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
We have not yet.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
We're talking about one guy that's a Super Bowl MVP
and one guy who's historically the worst playoff performer of
any player win.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Does the super Bowl win take a back seat to
the present time?
Speaker 6 (03:33):
The two and oh Eagles that have beat the Chiefs
and you know, and beat the Cowboys?
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Oh? Really, you know, Jalens. Look, Jalens won those games
and that's all I care about. But invigrate this week.
If I'm not a fan, come on many two for
one on one.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
And had the house brought on him. That that does
seem to be. If there's gonna be a takeaway so far,
it does seem to be. The defensive coordinator response to
this Eagles offense is just to bring as many blitzs
as possible. That's been the cause and effect of why
the numbers have now looked out of it like crazy.
He's got no time to throw. He's making the right
reads here. I can't really fault him for that. The
guy's been to the mountaintop and he's the only dude
(04:10):
that I've seen go to totoe with Patrick Mahomes and outplay
him on a consistent basis.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Yeah, so I guess if you're saying, And first of all,
the name of the segment that they're doing is Mahomes
is mountain as you said, and he's not even on top.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
It's Lamar, which I think is crazy as well.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
M What is Lamar Dunson take that throwne directly from
from Mahomes?
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Well, he's it's present day, just two games in. Mahomes
is only two So.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Is this j Are we just talking about this about
this two games?
Speaker 6 (04:42):
I just don't think you can do that like you
have to at least you can't judge on a two
games sample sized for quarterback play.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Would you put Josh Allen in front of Lamar Jackson
right now if it was a two games simply, Yeah, yes,
I would. I think I would too. I'd have a
hard time not putting Josh all on at top. He
beat Lamar in that big comeback victory. I think Lamar especially,
he's having another special year. He was incredible last year.
That offense is incredible. I can't wait for Monday Night
football with those two high powered offenses. Hopefully the lines
(05:12):
are the Week two lines and not the Week one.
I know the Ravens are gonna throw points up. Lamar's
is just dude. He is so fast and so quick
and shifty and he's still doing it in his eighth season.
He hasn't changed one bit. So it's tough, like you know,
and then when you get into the whole jailn.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Hurts like I.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
Yes, he wins, and he's winning by making plays with
his legs and he's doing to the game.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
He's doing everything.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
But if we have to judge quarterback play, like, how
am I not putting putting Jordan Love in front of
Jail hurts right now.
Speaker 6 (05:47):
I think, how can you? Is more of the question
what has Jordan Loved done too? And zher and he's
yet okay? I mean, I know Jordan Love hasn't blown
me away so far to start the season.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
I thought he I think he's been good. I think
he's been fine.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
This isn't one of these like like Jordan Love had
a bad year last year.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
That is the matter. It comes down to this year.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
If we're ranking quarterbacks right now and I can't talk
about the Super Bowl, I can't talk about you know,
what has taken place. That's how I can get into
the conversation of putting a guy like Jordan Love through
two games.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
I'll be at two games above Jail, but.
Speaker 6 (06:24):
You can't have Lamar at number one when Josh Allen
just directly be I.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Agree with that. That's that's where I would say that
that's wrong as well. So I don't know. I mean
that this is why they make these lists.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
People like me to get fired up about it, But
I just can't live in a world where it's talked
about like Justin Herbert's a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts
when that's just never been true with they in neither
one of their lives.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
But you won't even ever think about that. You won't
give it up to him. No matter earn it. He
has to earn it. You have to take it.
Speaker 6 (06:48):
The Jalen Hurts is the super raining Super Bowl MVP,
the guy that has done it, Like I don't want
to do what if?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
So? They play the game for a reason. Hello, you
play to win the game.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
And who does that better than maybe any quarterback ever?
Jilen Hurts trick the win percentage.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
No, look, three or two super Bowls. You know, he's
made the playoffs a time. There's a lot to and
that's all that matters. Like I don't care, you know.
And the tush push like people are all bit out
of shape. I was yelling about it yesterday. You could
take away the tush push as they're going to do
their change rules, but you're still not going to stop him.
He is going to run that QB sneak better than
(07:28):
anybody in the league period in the story, if he
can get the push from behind or not, nobody is
going to run that play better than Jaallen Hurts.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
He runs it better than Lamar.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
Give me the most athletic quarterback in the game, josh
Al Lamar Jackson. It doesn't matter. Mahomes is pretty darn
athletic as well, runs it better than all of them.
So remove the people doing the pushing allow and you
know what, I will say this much like that play
is not that difficult to officiate.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Can the officials, like, do your job? They missed?
Speaker 6 (08:01):
Yeah, Like I get all the outrage and this kind
of goes back to like any of the foul conversation
we're gonna have across any sport at the end of
the day, has called it has fallen the officials, like
they did miss a false start team like they for
sure did that should have been gone from Eagles directions that.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Should they're off sides too.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
You gotta call it, yeah, back them up stand in
the middle of it, yo, Like if you got to
what's a sport that I'm thinking of, Like lacrosse. Lacrosse
when they battle for the face off in the beginning,
like until you get those sticks perfectly set where they're
ready to go and they're battling out.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Are you a lacrosse fan? I like lacrosse, let's go?
Speaker 5 (08:39):
And then the official will step away and blow the whistle,
Like if that's the way you gotta do it, They're
not going to go the in depth. But if that's
the way you gotta do it, then that's why you
have to officiate that play. What's going to happen is
they're just going to get rid of this play. From
the entertainment standpoint, they don't have to give an answer.
It's just what they're going to do. And like we
(09:01):
know it's coming.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
So it's close to this past offseason.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
The voice is you've all gotten louder like it's going
to happen unfortunately, But I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
I don't think it really matters that much.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
If you just give Jalen Hurts a normal quarterback sneak,
I guarantee he's still gonna be, if not the one
of the best quarterbacks at this in the entire NFL.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
You can't teach.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
You can't just like teach somebody to squat way that
he can or have the frame that he can.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
He's a monster man and he deserves his flowers for
Ill tell you what.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
As we are about to go live streaming with our
friends over at Fox twenty nine this Sunday, on Fox
Local Green Legion, the radio show heard right here every
Sunday morning or afternoon, depends what time the Eagles play.
We are about to do an hour at nine am
live from State Side this Sunday, and I'm coming up
(09:47):
with the run run a show on what we're going
to discuss. It's just impressive that these guys from the
First Thing's First World here with Nick Wright are now
sixteen minutes into this segment still talking about Mahomes's mouth.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
It's like, all right, quarterbacks, get the people going, man, yeah,
they do. It's understood.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Maybe I have to we'll have to debate a top
five quarterback list.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Sure might have to do it. Do you have Jailing Hurts?
He's in there, He's certainly in there.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Is he a top five quarterback in the league for you?
I know that people will be saying that on the broadcast.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
I think the answer for the top five quarterbacks to
me is very clearly. It's Patrick Mahomes, It's Lamar Jackson,
it's Josh Allen, it's Joe Burrow, and it's Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
That to me is the right five.
Speaker 6 (10:28):
You can mix and match the order, but I think
that has to be the opening shotcase for who the
best five quarterbacks are.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
Matthew Stafford. Man's right there. He's amazing, and he's coming
to town. And he's coming to town. I heard a
interview yesterday. He's now doing Brady Show. Brady gave that
up Let's Go, and now Matthew Stafford's doing it.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I think it's on west Wood One or something like that.
I caught it on my way home. There's a Tom
Brady Show.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Tom Brady when he retired, you should have heard this show.
And he did it like two or three years with
Jim Gray.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Dude.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
The amount of spotsors today, squeam, and you're talking about the.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Best of the best sponsors.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
I mean, this is just it was insane because Brady
was able to bring all these sponsors to the table.
He had an hour show. They air it at six
o'clock on Monday on Siri XM. It's called Let's Go.
And he is no longer doing it. I don't think
he did it last year either, if I'm not mistaken.
So they had Stafford this year and I was listening
and Matthew Stafford is a fantastic quarterback and he's been
(11:26):
doing it forever overall number one pick, and as I said,
coming to town on Sunday, we'll talk a lot more
about that.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
But let's talk about NFL Week three.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Sham Benard, as we are just two days away from
Thursday night where we get the Dolphins and the Bills
currently a twelve and a half point spread. However, did
you know that that game opened up Bills eight and
a half?
Speaker 2 (11:49):
We call this segment Tuesday tells.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
What's that line telling you that it's now eight and
a half to twelve and a half At most shops.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
It is that the Miami Dolphins are a disaster, that
is what. So yeah, I do think that you lay
the number on heavy here. I think that this is
not gonna be remotely a game from start to finish.
I think Buffalo are legitimate Super Bowl contenders, and I
think that the Miami Dolphins are legitimate threats to get
the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
So yeah, I think there's quite a gap between these
two teams.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
A battle in the AFC South between the Tennessee Titans
and the Indianapolis Colts at one o'clock on Sunday. Titans
opened up as a point and a half favorite. Yeh,
the Colts one of the hottest teams in the game. Yeah,
quick money coming in on that one. And now the
Indianapolis Colts are three and a half point favorites. You
(12:38):
know what Mike tell is, what's the odds makers were
off the rock or making the Titans a one and
a half point favorite?
Speaker 2 (12:43):
What is your telling that one?
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Yeah, I'm still not really sure what to make a
cam Ward yet. I liked what I saw from the
week one about that touchdown. The touchdown was incredible, But
at the same time, that's probably a threat that I
never want to see a making.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
What was the better pass play of the week and
the Villanova to uh what was the kid's name, bank
ben Karo Binkowski?
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Thank you. We gotta remember that. Got to remember. So
put that in that the.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
Ben Kowski catch, throw and catch or that one with
cam Ward to the corn of.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
The end zone. It's gotta be Nova.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
The one hand, I would say the throw specifically is
probably harder on cam Ward. The catch way harder in
the Villanova game, So I would give the love to Villanova.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
All right, Yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
As far as the Titans and Colts, maybe you could
sit there and say that they're due for a little
bit of a you know, playing yeah, regression, playing back
to what the Indiapolis Colts have been all these for
the past few years.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
But I'm not gonna buy it.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
I'm gonna say that, you know what, the Colts are
a tough team right now, and they got a good defense.
And I know it's a shalty Titans team that's zero
and two right now, but that is a team that
has a lot of holes. So I would probably take
the Colts even at three and a half on that one.
Damn I wish they was able to get that point
and a half.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Good grief.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
This is why you gotta wager on them early. Yeah, honestly,
because that's an easy wager. I'm sure that that wasn't
up there for all that long. Panthers and Falcons, this
game's being played in Carolina. They are zero and two
on the season, and things are ug elie. They opened
up a point and a half favorite at home against Atlanta.
Now we are looking at five and a half, as
high as six and a half. I'll say for this conversation,
(14:13):
five and a half is our number.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
What's your tell there?
Speaker 6 (14:16):
Yeah, I'm buying what Atlanta is selling right now that
I like what Michael Pennox brings the table. By the
way Bijeon Robinson, for my money, it might be the
third best running back in the NFL three the way
that he moves his cuts and like I know, they
showed the Saquon quote of him basically give him his
flowers about how Saquon believes that Bijon is like the
top cutter in the NFL, which is quite high praise there.
The bottom line is, I think there's too many weapons
(14:37):
on this Falcons team. I do think they take care
of business and cover the five and a half. Carolina
has not moved me yet, all right, it's.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Keeping it moving yet. That's a that's an easy one
for me, the Falcons. But man, that's another one point
and a half. And I'm sure it was down at
two three, whatever it may be, and now it's as
high as six six and a half. I wonder where
we're at. Come kickoff on a Sunday, keeping a moving
Raiders and Commanders. Commanders open up a seven and a
half point favorite. It's now three and a half favored
against the Las Vegas Raiders, who just lost last night.
(15:05):
Short week for the Raiders, but it's seeming like Jaden
Daniels will miss this game, so I'm pretty sure we're
in agreement. That's the tell here.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Yeah, that is definitely what the odds are indicating. My
call in the game will be purely dependent onf Jayden
Daniels is available. I do think the Raiders are a
competent football team. I think they're in the mixed football team.
I think Washington at full strength is better. But if
you don't have Jayden Daniels, I can't in good faith
back that organization. So I'll take the Las Vegas Raiders
on the money line most likely. I do think it's
more likely than not that Daniels sen don't missing this week.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
All right, one o'clock game here, we're heading to Cleveland.
Do you believe that story about Shador Sanders saying don't
draft me in the ball to the Ravens?
Speaker 6 (15:44):
One yes, unfortunately, yes, Like jeez, I feel like that
was kind of, you know, consistent with everything else that
we've heard in the interviews and all that side of things.
The juwice wasn't worth the squeeze from a lot of
NFL front office perspectives and that's why he ended up
still on the board.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
What he was Wow, Yeah, it's truth behind it. It's
got to be right, you know. And I know that
Dion was saying like, oh, well, I might push my
son to X, you know, like Eli did. But a
little bit of a different story with Eli coming out
of college and Shador and I like Shador. I thought
Shador is a good quarterback. I want to see him
get an opportunity. But man, that clearly, if that is true,
(16:22):
that is a tough pill to swallow. You're in the
fifth round and you're still dictating where you should be playing.
You know, he's got generation generational wealth already, so maybe
that's like, Okay, get me to a place that I
want to go. But man, you just don't know what's
going to happen in Baltimore. That's a great program, good coaching. Yeah,
why not go behind Lamar and learn?
Speaker 6 (16:44):
I I mean, I think, like I wish I had
a better answer for it, because I'm in agreement with you.
I think you take whatever opportunity walks your way there.
And I also think it's worth noting like Dylan Gabriel
took snaps for the Browns this week, correct that like,
if we're talking about a hierarchy or level of opportunity,
the chance is there for you to grab at Shador
and whether or not, like he's earned it or not,
he has not, you know, given the chance or put
himself in that possession.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
So I don't know, it's a mess.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
I do think we'll see Chador at some point this season,
and I think that's probably why he wanted to force
himself in this type of direction. But I think for
the betterment of himself, he could have handled the entire
pre draft process differently, including with the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
All Right Packers on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Here,
Cleveland opened up a excuse me, green Bay opened up
a five and a half point favorite. It's now as
high as eight and a half on DraftKings Sportsbook some shops,
most shops seven and a half. So from five and
a half to seven and a half right now, The
tell here for you is what.
Speaker 6 (17:36):
I don't think the number makes too much of a
difference for me Cleveland is Joe Flacco is there concerning
heading into this week his availability.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
I didn't see it with Joe Flacco. I thought he
was okay, So.
Speaker 6 (17:46):
It was just a benching for Dylan Gabro. I saw
that he was taking snaps. I didn't see that, okay,
So yeah, I mean yeah, he was taking the Packers
in the points is pretty much all I'll take this.
I do believe in Jordan Love. I do believe in
this Packers team. I think they're the second best team
in the NFC. The Cleveland Browns are pretty far from
anywhere near that level of contention.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
All right, Bengals and the Vikings. That's one o'clock kick
as well. On Sunday, Vikings open up a point and
a half favorite. As tough loss by the Vikings on
Sunday Night football against the Falcons. They remain home, they
welcome Cincinnati, and this one opened up Minnesota point and
a half favorite. They're now a three point favorite. And
(18:22):
I know that the Joe Burrow news is the big
deal breaker for a lot of people out there, but
I do want to say that when you get a
backup quarterback to come in and the way that he
did play in that game, I was surprised that the
the Cincinnati Bengals were able to win that game. And
I yeah, and I wouldn't I would not bet against
(18:45):
them right now, I really wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
I realize that it's not Joe Burrow.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
I get all that, but that's that's an interesting number
for right now that you're grabbing my attention at.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
And I'll just say this, much like if.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
You go back and you really do look at tape
and the way that Jake Browning played in that second half,
and I was pulling up his numbers here, they're pretty
eye opening. Twenty one or thirty two. He threw three interceptions,
don't get me wrong, two forty one, but he was
ready to go. Uh, you give him a week of
practice knowing that he is the guy. It's pretty good
(19:18):
coach out there. I just would look at this game
in a different light. I don't know if i'd be
Lockstock and Barrel to take the Minnesota Vikings coming off
with tough loss at home. Cincinnati might be a live
dog for me here.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Yeah, from a betting perspective, this is like a probably
a full avoid situation with a paarabackup quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
For me, it's right, Carson Wentz is the backup ball.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
And yeah, I may be ready to say I think
Carson Wentz could be an upgrade at the quarterback position
for the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
That from what we saw from JJ McCarthy, we've seen seven.
When's the last time he saw Carson Wentz play? Correct?
I mean he played.
Speaker 6 (19:50):
He got a start last year, he got He's gotten
a start every year.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Was he with the Chiefs last year? Wasn't he with
the Chiefs? Yes? I think it was week seventeen that
he started. I checked how many intercepts does he throw?
Last year?
Speaker 5 (20:00):
He didn't throw any. He had two. He had to
start in with the La Ramsey to an interception. That's
the issue with Wentz is he's going to turn the
football just as much over over, as much as JJ
McCarthy would.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
Sure as much as Jacob Browning will too.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
I think, yeah, you're right about that.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
The thing that I will give Wentz credit for, and
this is like his Achilles heel.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
We've seen it on full display.
Speaker 6 (20:20):
He's gonna take the swings like he's gonna take some
big shots here. And when you have just Justin Jefferson
in the wide receiver group that they do, I think
that it can turn into some point.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
So I don't know.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
I'm very curious how this situation plays itself out, because
what do you do if Carson.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Wentz is straight up better at quarterback?
Speaker 6 (20:38):
Reality, what have you seen from JJ McCarthy to suggest
that this guy is like legitimate?
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Well, you drafted him high. He's earned the spots in
O'Connell's eyes.
Speaker 6 (20:49):
Right, He's played seven out of eight really bad quarters
of football, that's true, and you have one awesome comeback.
You have to give him props for this that they
show the mental like mental tough this and everything to
fight through that is impressive there. But if we're just
talking about making throws and missing your spots there, it
has been ugly from the JAJA.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Got to let him play. You have to let JJ
McCarthy play. You have to give him the season. You can't.
You can't be pulling him out. This injury is terrible
for him. Are we sure it's not a phantomil situation? No? No, no,
are we no no yet? He's got a cannon, dude,
He's got an arm, you know, and like does he
(21:27):
JJ McCarthy, Yes, I think he could sling it pretty good.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
He's got some zip on that ball. You look good
in that quarter.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
I know against the Bears he was throwing it into
windows that were tight reading it really well.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
He's got a good mentality.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
I just don't think you can draft him as high
as they did and bench him after two games where
he is essentially a rookie quarterback.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah, I don't think they can.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
I'll just I've never been a JJ McCarthy believe that
many of it did not like him at Michigan.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
I did not like him as an NFL prospect.
Speaker 6 (21:55):
I think there's like legitimate red flags in his game
as far as throwing to the left some of the
down the sideline like he had he missed guys straight
up in both games that we've seen this to this point.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
So I agree they kind of got to give him
the season.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
But I do think that there's a non zero chance
that Carson Wentz what he puts on the field this
week is better than anything we see it from J. J.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
McCarthy in the first two. Well, we got a lot
of one o'clock games. We have four four o'clock games
and a ton of one o'clock actions. Next one, next
one up, Eagles and Rams Birds at home. This one
open up at four and a half. We're now sitting
at three and a half. Most shopped here, Yeah, every
shop has three and a half. Nobody has anything different.
So three and a half Eagles favored at home.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
You know what my tel is here? Of course, the
point came down.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
I don't how is this not getting the three flat
money needs to come in on the Rams. Rams played
them tough and in the playoffs. I know that the
Eagles owned him in the regular season. I think they
have won the last three times that they've played something
like that. It's based off of running to football. If
the Rams can't stop Sakuon Barkley, then he's gonna have
a day and the Eagles are going to win that game,
most likely by more than three half. But as we
(23:01):
sit here right now, you can't tell me that the
Rams aren't a live dog. Stafford is homing. That offense
looks a little bit better than the Eagles do right now.
Eagles have some struggles, they're at home, but I think
that the Rams are a live dog right now as
we sit on Tuesday.
Speaker 6 (23:15):
Yeah, I have a hard time picking against the Eagles,
but this is a matchup that does make me a
little bit nervous here. I think we can call a
spade a spade and say that the Rams have looked
more impressive than what we've seen from the Eagles to
this point. Yes, that the Eagles are two and zero.
A win is a win is a win, and that's
gonna be what we continue to hang.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
The hat on.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
But they're gonna have to play at a better level
than we've seen to this point to get down this game.
I like that the returning home. I think it's gonna
be a battle. I think this probably is a game
that comes down to the wire, and with that in mind,
I probably take the points from a betting perspective.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
All right, Steelers and Patriots also in a one o'clock window.
Patriots at home. Nice win against the Miami Dolphins. The
Steelers tough loss against the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Did you see the kickoff return, the non return, the
non return? Did you know?
Speaker 5 (23:56):
I think the number is nineteen eighteen, one say, since
nineteen eighteen. That's like the fourth time that's ever happened.
Like idiotic that somebody would the kickoff team scored a
touchdown on a kickoff. It's only happened four times. It's
like crazy the history of the game. I might even
be off of my years on that one, but it's
(24:17):
the fourth time that that's only ever happened, and that
was the siding factor. I thought Rogers looked okay. I
think the defense is really the problem right now with Pittsburgh.
They've got to figure it out. They're better than what
they've shown. This one opened up Patriots a point and
a half at home. That's flip flopped. Now the Steelers
are a point and a half favorite. Your tell here is what.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
Don't particularly like either of these teams. I do like
the under in this matchup that I think is gonna
be a rock fight. I think it's gonna be grind
him out type of football game. I probably lean Pittsburgh
minus one twenty two on the money line on DraftKings. Currently,
I think this is a coin flip game. Though I
haven't really been moved by what we've seen from either
of these teams. I think Aaron Rodgers has exceeded my
expectations by the most significant margin, which is why I
(24:56):
point this direction. But I think both these teams have flaws,
so this is gonna be a battle. I lean towards
the and keeping him a low scoring game.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
J e Ts Jets Jets Jets ugly, ugly game, and
of course Justin Field's dealing with the concussion, So we
don't know what's happening there. Bucks are seven and a half.
They open up at seven and a half. Money coming
in on the Jets. This is now seven flat seen
in a six and a half. What the heck's going
on there? Short week? Is that what people are telling me? Anyways,
the Jets or the Bucks are let's say for this
(25:23):
here seven point favorites, down from a seven and a
half number on the open where you at?
Speaker 6 (25:27):
Yeah, I'm laying the number on this one that even
before the Justin Fields concussion, that was an atrocious football.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Game that we saw him play there.
Speaker 6 (25:34):
The QBR like if he had just dropped back and
spiked the football on every single passing play, his QBR
would have been higher than what he finished that game
with base on the interception and everything went down, he
had two completions at halftime. Justin Fields did so as
a Justin Fields guy. That was not a fun watch
for me from the Jets this weekend. I think Baker
Mayfield he's a real deal. He's gonna sling it all
over the field, and I don't think the Jets gonna
(25:55):
be able to compete with that level of offense.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Texans and Jags another division bat here and the Jags
opened up a point and a half dog at home.
Now they are a point and a half favorite. What's
happening here for you?
Speaker 6 (26:07):
I think this is a pair of pretty fraudulent teams.
To be perfectly honest, I don't like either. I think
Houston needs to find a way to win one. I
think this is probably the game. Did not like the
communications between Trevor Lawrence and Liam Cohen on the sideline.
Did not like have Brian Thompson or Brian Thompson looked
in this weekend Absolutely brutal there. I like Houston, they
got to play better, but that offensive line is a problem.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
I still taking Houston in this one.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
To your team, the Chargers, they open up a point
and a half favorite against the Broncos. We're in the
four o'clock window. Now they're at or The Chargers are
at home, their first home game on the season, and
it has bumped up the two and a half. We're
seeing some threes at some shops here. Your tell is,
what do we.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Have any bow Knicks panic level in the area yet?
Speaker 6 (26:49):
I think we should yeah up the three interceptions on
the air, he does have four passing touchdowns. I don't
think he's looked very gil what'sever And my biggest compliment
to bow Nicks as a quarterback, He's he's been like
a play within my box. But I'm not gonna do
too much. I'm not gonna play. He's been the opposite
so far this year, so he's got to reel that in.
If he does not against this Chargers defense, it's gonna
be a problem. I don't feel great about this one
from the Broncos perspective.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Yeah, I wonder what we're saying if they were able
to squeeze out that victory after the missed field goal
the first time by the Colts and if you missed
that one, that was a crazy situation. The Broncos ended
up losing on the last second field goal with no
time on the clop the clock. It was an untimed
down due to the fact that the defender decided to
use a little leverage, little leverage and got called for
(27:33):
fifteen yards untimed down later and the Colts are walk
off with a win. Uh Broncos Chargers right now. Yeah,
I'm taking the Chargers at home. I think they're gonna
improve the three, No, I do what are you saying? Then?
I'm Monday justin Herbert's three, and oh.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
I won't be I mean certainly rooting for the Broncos
in this matchup there. It will get harder and harder
to defend this. I mean, he's still just got to
do it, man, Like, I don't want to hear about.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
Him, not like somebody that's talking about Joel Embiid. That's
what it's what way, Oh, he's just got to do it.
He doesn't win in the playoffs. Hes gott to do
it in the playoffs. He could be dominant in the
regular season, of course, turning back the hands of time
when Jojo was dominant there in the regular season.
Speaker 6 (28:12):
Justin hervit's never been Joel Embiid from a talent perspective.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Yeah, he's been on the field a hell of a
lot more. That's why I would start there. Anyways, Let's
keep it moving. Don't need to get bogged down on
that one. Next one up Saints and Seahawks. Seahawks were
impressive last week. They were good. They were slinging it.
Gotta give him a little bit of love right now.
But all no, as far as ugly loss, against the
forty nine ers at home.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
That's week one.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
Week two, they go on the road and beat the
Pittsburgh Steelers thirty one to seventeen. Now they get the Saints.
They're six and a half opened up now to seven
and a half. The Saints are terrible. Yeah, bad team.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:47):
I like the Seahawks till late on the number here.
The Saints are just a bad team. Another team, probably
the top favorite to be that number one overall pick
when that time does come in the NFL draft.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Here, I'm not like all aboard the Sea.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
I don't hype train yet that I still have some
Sam Darnold doubts and some doubts with that overall roster
as a whole. But I don't think that Saints are
gonna pose must have much of a challenge in this one.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
All right, next game up, let's head the shy Town
four o'clock window Bears and Cowboys. Bears open up a
three point favorite. Now we are seeing some shops at pick.
We're seeing some shops at one. DraftKings has the Cowboys
a point a half the dog here so to catching
three now to one and a half. Let's roll with
that number here.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
What you tell kind of surprised by this number, to
be honest, that I think the Cowboys going to win
this match up pretty handedly. That I think Chicago may
be one of these curse organizations that can never get
out of their own way. And Caleb Williams has yet
to look like this, you know, prestigious or you know,
protege type quarterback the way that he was branded to be.
I'm really discouraged by the decision making and just straight
up misses on some pretty basic passes that Caleb Williams
(29:47):
has had already this season. I think Dak Prescott's playing well.
I think this Cowboys team still has a high caliber
of talent.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
I think they win this game out right.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
All right, let's keep it moving here and let's go
to the Bay. Forty nine ers at home take on
the Cardinals. This one to open up at three and
a half. Now down to one and a half forty nine?
Is your favorite here? Mac Jones not getting any love.
Speaker 6 (30:07):
By the way, we do have some breaking news that
Rafael Latingua has a fishally been caught up to the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
The shouts are Guy Jose, There, Jose Perez, Jose, Ose,
Jose Jose.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
I have no idea who Jose is, but he knows
who is on their way up to join the Phillies.
So Antigua joining the Phillies out there in LA.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
I'm sure that.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Yeah, they need a couple extra bodies after last night's partying.
But all in all, Phillies coming up a little bit later,
plenty to play for. So uh, no rest for the wick.
You gotta get the boys out there. Got to get
the juice going and find a way to win a game.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
Yeah, but uh, to bring it back to Cardinals forty
nine and I said they want to throw Jose the
flowers there.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Oh yeah, the one and a half's tough.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
You've kind of talked me into the Mac Jones outlook
that I think I'll ride with you because of it.
I still will probably be a coin flip game kind
of outlook, Mac, I love it, mac Tech, Yeah, mac.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Tech all right.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
The the Chiefs and Giants are Sunday Night Football six
and a half is what we opened at Kansas City.
Favored on the road in netlife.
Speaker 6 (31:11):
Wow, what are your thoughts? By the way of the
Jackson Dark coming in for him? Bull plays just to
hand the ball off.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
I don't mind it. What's the appeal? Is he gonna
get him comfortable?
Speaker 5 (31:22):
Yeah, that I would assume, And then he does have
a cannon of an arm, so allow him to take
some shots.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Eventually.
Speaker 5 (31:28):
You gotta build it up, right, you gotta set the
table and then have some trick plays from time to time. Right,
he's not afraid to make some plays with his legs.
Seems like he's a smart quarterback. Not gonna turn it
over because you can't do that if you're gonna step
in and steal a throw or two from Russell Wilson,
who looks like he's turning back to hands of time. Man,
he's gonna be NFC Player of the week offensively, let's
put it that way.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
It's just strange to me, Like I feel like he's
either your guy or he's not, Like make him the
quarterback or don't like?
Speaker 5 (31:53):
Well, I don't you can After Russell played the way
he did.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Was he that good? I don't think you ross?
Speaker 6 (31:59):
Yeah, what's the styline looking he hit the interception four
yards four fifty three touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Yeah, that's it, four fifty impressive.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
I mean you live and I with like it takes
jail and hurt seven games to get that number.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
That's well done.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Yes, Uh, you gotta live with a good bad with Russ,
Like he's basically gonna throw it up for grabs and
like guys make plays and he's he's kind of like.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
A uh dude, Neighbors deal.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Yeah yeah, by accident there, Neighbors is disgusting man. He
It's like, get him a quarterback and look out.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Oh yeah, that's definitely true. The Jackson Dart thing really
confused me this weekend of him just coming in. I
think I am trending towards this is the finally the matchup.
The Chiefs lay down the hammer and get a convincing victory.
They obviously can't drop to oh and three. They've dug
themselves a hall already. I think they cover the mind.
What are you pulling for here? I'm actually pulling for
the Giants.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
I think the Giants are harmless, so it's like, not really,
I don't feel.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
That's a sucker play and taking the Giants here as
a sucker play.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
The team's got to lay the hammer in this one, right, Well, Worthy's.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
Got to get back in the mix. If Worthy gets
back in the mix, because that's the issue. It's like,
like somebody got to make a play for Mahomes. Mahomes
still has the cannon, Mahome still has the ability. He's
running fools over to me, Mahomes is playing great. I
might be off on that from a little bit of
a detailed perspective from the All twenty two, but come on, Kelsey.
He had a couple of drops, including that one of
(33:26):
the It's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
That's Mahomes is doing his job.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
There there's the other cat the other receiver that was
dropping balls on him. It's like, dude, you're going up
grab the ball for him? No, no, no, no, no, no.
Was the other guy He had a couple of attempts
or a couple. Yeah, he did have a catcher too.
Thornton was that his name?
Speaker 2 (33:47):
Oh yeah, Taekwon Thornton. There you go.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Yeah, they gave him a lot of action this week,
and I was kind of surprised by that. But yeah,
I think Mahomes is still he's still Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
I think he still looks mobile. He's still getting around
the pocket, moving just fine. I think this is the
week where it comes together and they get back on
track for it. Still being a Super Bowl contender. Sixteen
to twenty nine, one eighty seven, one touchdown, one pick
for Mahomes. Again, the Eagles defense was awesome and oh
by the way, Mahomes ran for seven for sixty six
and a touchdown, prop one for twenty two. Kelsey four
grabs sixty one. Thorton had two grabs for fifty nine yards.
(34:18):
Hollywood Brown five for thirty Uh. Yeah, it's just like you.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Gotta get some playmakers in there and catch the football
when you have an opportunity to do so.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Yeah, the Chiefs should win that game.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
I still feel like I'm taking the Giants plus the points, really,
but you should never because if you don't think they're
gonna win the game, don't take the dog.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
Chiefs are due Like this is like a Star is
the Line kind of matchup. I feel if they need somebody,
they need a punching bag type of team, and the
Giants can still be that.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Hmm.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
It was an impressive vic. They didn't win, but it
was an impressive game against the Cowboys. All right, then
we got a Monday night football. This is going to
be a battle, or is it. Ravens opened up three
and a half point favorite. Some shops are showing five
and a half. I see one with as low as
four and a half.
Speaker 6 (35:05):
Here.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
Let's say, for this discussion, we'll go five. We'll say five.
We're going even flat five here, not an even flat five.
Three and a half to five? What is your telling
this one?
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yeah, you can give me six and a half, seven
and a half. I'm still taking it. Oh.
Speaker 6 (35:20):
I think the Baltimore Ravens blow out the Detroit Lions
on Monday Night football. I think the Baltimore Ravens are
legitimate Super Bowl contenders, and I oh they are. The
Lions are still feeling the heat of not having Ben Johnson,
of not having Aaron glennam figuring out how to get
on the same page. They have enough talent that they're
gonna be fine. They're gonna be in the postseason mixed,
But I do think Baltimore is far more polished right now,
and we'll, you know, run them over because of that.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (35:41):
Nice work, Sean Bnard. That's how we do it Tuesday
tells here on the Daily Ticket, where we start to
preview the look ahead numbers and of course give you
what are viewing what we are viewing here on the
show as far as what's making that number move and
where we think it's going to end up. Come kickoff
(36:03):
on Sunday slash Monday. Oh and oh by the way, Thursday, Hey,
five o'clock hour coming up. On the other side, we
will get into the system debates in the great world
of the NFL. I got a couple odds and ends
from topics, and we want to talk about Trevor Lawrence,
Lamar Jackson, who you just talked about. We also have
some rookie quarterbacks I want to get into also when
(36:24):
it comes to handicapping the divisions, which one is the
toughest one to handicap? Right here, right now, plenty to discuss.
Five o'clock hour, we'll reset everything. We'll open up that
Phillies conversation again as they clenched the nl East late
last night. He's Sean Barnard, I'm Sean brace More after
this
