seven Bring Deep Philadelphia is Fox Sports Radio the Gambler.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Hey, no, damn, we take it with you here.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
We got breaking news all over the place. Jordan Romano
not cut but heading to the il Jose is all
over for us.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Shout out the Jose on.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
The chat with middle finger excuse me, right hand, middle
finger inflammation.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, I have.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
That too from time to time as well, when I'm struggling.
He's been brutal. You know. Look, he had his moments
where it's like this year you were like, okay, I
could see it, like okay, you think he's gonna be
all right, But no, you just can't use him anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
You can't. He's just a disaster out of the pen.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
And he's not fooling any hitters with the off speed stuff.
He walks a bunch of guys, right if I'm not
mistaken on that, you know, because he's trying to make
something happen that's not there. And and when he has
to put it over the plate and nobody's not you know,
all these batteries are squaring it up. So I look
at what Romano is and what he's been all season.
(01:43):
It's just like, man, you guys are just delaying it
right now by by keeping him on the roster. But
this is the right thing to do. Just get him away,
see uh, and you know, see if you can bring
in somebody else or you know, make some other moves
here as have today with Luke Trevino from Triple A.
(02:03):
I believe he came up also some other names that
are out there potentially going to get some work and
help bolster that bullpen.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
With the removal of roh Man.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
No, it's given me a you know, the Kimberl feel
with him right now. And it's like we weren't fool
with Craig Kimberle, like he had his He had a
much better year than Romano, no doubt. But when you know,
like you can't use them, He's not going to get
anybody out. He's not going to be successful in that appearance.
(02:34):
So what are you going to him other than the
fact that you have to use them. And that's what
we were discussing earlier with Kyle Fisher, who he's like,
this isn't a Rob Thompson deal. This is Rob Thompson's
not the guy that's going to say, you know, DFA
or whatever it may be, like, he has to use
the players slash pitchers that are in the bullpen that
(02:55):
he has on the roster, and that's facts, that's the
reality of the situation. Point to a point, I did
not agree with that that, you know, that appearance last night.
I just was not down with it immediately. And then
you had the vibe where it's just like this is
gonna be a disaster, and then oh, by the way,
you turned into exactly that. So once again Phillies and
(03:16):
Mets Game two. Phils have lost all four games this
year up at City Field. Have to find a way
to win a ball game so they can exercise the demons.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Was Lady one the mal minus one twelve.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
We talked a lot about his last appearance where he
struck up twelve. Could you get some sort of on
that number, not twelve, but with the number being at
six and a half, is that a play that you
would look at to take as far as overs on
the strikeouts, you know, look the Mets to strikeout.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
They struck out eight times as a team last night
in the.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Game that was a blowout. It have some really good hitters,
and that's the one thing that I was worried about. Look,
this is a team that if it could go wrong,
it was going wrong for them. But with that lineup,
if you're not making your pitches, they can make you pay.
It's not like they were being shut out in a
lot of those games. They were still scoring five, six runs,
but they just had no pitching. So hopefully tonight a
(04:10):
little bit more of that eight's are total in tonight's
game between the two lefties. So I kind of like
the over. Give me Lozardo in that money line spot
at minus one twelve, and if I'm taking a flyer
on a prop, I'm gonna take the over on six
and a half strikeouts for Lazardo at plus one thirty.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I think that that's a pretty good number to take
a shot at there.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
If you have a play, go ahead and get involved
in the conversation at Fox PHL Gambler. At Fox PHL Gambler,
love to hear your thoughts on tonight's Mets and Phillies game.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Around two.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
We do have some other things that are happening in
the sports world, and specifically the main one for me
is college football, and you know, one of the matchups
that we are having a lot of hype around, and
it should because of the fact that you're talking about
two teams that are ranked that could potentially be in
(05:03):
the mix when it comes to playoff time. A lot
of hype around both of these programs because of Brian
Kelly and Dabosweeney, both great coaches and recruiters. And of
course I'm talking about l SU and Clemson going down
at seven point thirty on Saturday night. Now when you
look at the number, Clemson is a three and a
(05:25):
half point favorite.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
They're at home in their death value.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
There's been a lot of hype, a lot of focus
on the way that LSU, specifically Brian Kelly has went
about his business this offseason. And what I mean by
that is if you have no idea, if you haven't
listened or heard the story, he has put such an
emphasis on this game. And one of the things that really,
(05:50):
you know, it's it's such a contrast between the two.
It's because like that is anti Dabbo. There's no way
that Dabosweeney is going to put more emphasis on a game,
specifically game one of a regular season.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
And oh, by the way on the road than any
other game. No way, of course.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Would he tell you that some games are bigger than
other games, No, no doubt about it. Right, guys won
two national championships sixteen eighteen, if I'm not mistaken, a
long time ago. But still he knows what it takes.
It's a winning program, had success last year, made the playoffs,
So I just think it's it's really risky, but I
kind of respect it at the same time. From Brian Kelly,
(06:33):
I think it's risky because you can lose a game
early in the season and still go on a winning
streak and make the playoffs. You still can have a
very successful season even if you do lose game one
like Clemson did last year to Georgia. So I think
it's really risky that if he goes out there and
(06:54):
he puts all the eggs in the basket for this
one game and it's we're the we're the Tigers, and
we are death value, and I think he called it
death Valley light up there in Clemson and whatever. Anyway,
anything you have to do to motivate your team, that's fine. However,
what happens if LSU loses this game. What happens if
(07:14):
LSU loses this game in a big way. But if
they get pounded, you know, I'm not gonna sit here
and tell you it's the end of the year for LSU.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
By no means no.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
They have a great roster filled with some really big
playmakers on offense, pretty good secondary. This is a very
talented LSU team that came up extremely small last year
and have been talking about that a lot in the
offseason this year. But I just think when you talk
about the two coaches and their styles and how much
(07:44):
of a difference between Dabbo and Brian Kelly are handling
game one on Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, it
is very intriguing and I think it adds another layer
to a lot of storylines that are taking place in
this game. Already talk about number four and number nine
ranked team in the country, Top ten battle taking place
(08:06):
primetime television. There's a good six or seven games this weekend,
and this is definitely one of them. At the top
of the list, I would say Texas and Ohio State
is definitely number one for my money, LSU and Clemson
number two. Love to get your thoughts out there right
now at Fox phl Gaebler, do you have a play
in this game? Are you looking at possibly taking the
(08:27):
money line with LSU plus one fifty? How shocked would
you be if LSU win into Clemson and won this
game all route right, Because I do believe that if
you're gonna take LSU plus the points, you better have
that money line as well at plus one fifty. This
is one of those games that the dog can absolutely
win here, So why not take a little flyer on
the fact that this is a decent money line at
(08:48):
plus one fifty and it would not be too crazy
for my money to see.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
LSU win this game.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
But with that being said, Brian Kelly very fiery, emotional
head coach. Right, We've seen him punch the table, We've
seen a lot of stuff come from him on the sideline,
yelling at people, screaming at people.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
I'm a Brian Kelly fan. I'm also a Dabbo guy
too as well. I just think, man.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
You're really, really really changing up an approach and maybe
that's gonna pay off f him here. As far as
a Week one game against Clemson, a tough, tough opponent
on the road in South Carolina at three and a
half points spread. Again, fifty seven and a half is
our total in that one. How you're feeling about the total?
You think we're gonna see a ton of points in
(09:36):
that one. Love to get your thoughts as far as
that game is concerned. Now, with that being said, over
at viisen Vegas Sports and Information Network, there is a
gentleman by the name of Steve macnan who does a
great job. I think they were calling him the analytics guru.
That did I stumble across that the right way? I
(09:57):
want to say that that was what they're calling now
the analytics grew, which I think, Hey man, this dude,
he is really good at what he does and where
he goes is he'll look at the betting systems, the trends.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Now, I'm not a guy.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
That will blindly follow these trends. However, when you tell
me that you have a trend that since college football
twenty thirteen has gotten sixteen and oh straight up in
fifteen and one ats, which is good for ninety three
point eight percent if you're keep it score at home, yeah,
I'm definitely intrigued. I'm very interested as far as that
(10:39):
is concerned. Now, how many points are too many? Is
the question that we have to ask, and it's one
of those deals where you know, of course, something like
that where we go this is like the ultimate mismatch
type of game.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
And all in.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
All, what do we got to be? Given forty points
here could be?
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Could be? But sixteen and oh is sixteen and oh.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Steve MacKinnon, the Viisent analytics guru, said that in his
Week one betting system that he loves huge favorites, huge,
huge favorites.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Over the years, thirty seven and a half points or more.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Have been automatic in FBS versus FBS matchups in the
opening weekend. I think you mean to SCS in that one.
So and you know where we're going with that. The
Georgia States, you know the Nevadas, you know the Villanova
right that can even apply to this?
Speaker 2 (11:41):
He said.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
There are five games with massive lines for this year
in Week one, three officially qualifying at this point. That
is significantly significantly more than average, considering there have only
been sixteen in twelve seasons, which is interesting.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
So the three.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Currently right now that fall into the category of thirty
seven and a half points or more are old Miss
versus Georgia State. That's on the nail of thirty seven
and a half Georgia thirty nine and a half versus
Marshall and Penn State forty four and a half versus Nevada.
The other two to watch it but to kick off
is Michigan and New Mexico, which is thirty six and
(12:19):
a half in USC versus Missouri State at thirty.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Five and a half.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Penn State is definitely one that I would not mind
dabbling in. I just think that that defense is gonna
be unbelievable, flying all over the place, and we'll limit
any points being scored that day. Now, can the offense
live up to the hype? Are they gonna be taking
some shots downfield with the new wide receivers out there?
Or are they going to continue to run the football?
And Nevada is not gonna have an answer for Nevada, Nevada,
(12:45):
you name it.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Whatever.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Intriguing, but that is the bigger number out of the
three of forty four and a half. Georgia again, for
my money, I got them winning the SEC this year.
I think they're gonna see some anarchy, but I think
Georgia comes out on top. Not a lot of conversation
about them in the offseason, there seems to be a
little bit more hype around Alabama for some people out there,
the talking heads in the world. So I'm looking at
(13:09):
Georgia Marshall thirty nine and a half point favorites there.
Old Miss got to replace the quarterback. You know that
Lane's got that offense humming ready to go. I was
trying to find the reason for Old Miss this year
in the conference, but I felt like they were missing
a few pieces from last season. It's gonna be tough
to replace. But thirty seven and a half versus Georgia State,
(13:29):
if we take all three favorites there, what do you
think we're going two and one? Penn State forty four
and a half or Penn State can a win by
fifty possibly could potentially see that still love one of
those deals where you don't second guest sixteen and zero
or fifteen and one ats. It's hard to do, so
nice work by Steve. He is a great following out.
(13:53):
Think social media and of course over at Visa and
go ahead and make sure you're checking out everything they have.
Speaker 2 (13:57):

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Oh football is back, and it's back in a big way.
How about college football? This past weekend? Saturday gave us
some chaos we lived for Iowa State and Kansas State,
stumbling all over themselves but still giving us a nail
bier to the finish Bwian Stanford. Although it wasn't too late,
it felt like Pac twelve after dark a kicker who
(14:56):
literally learned how to kick via YouTube that he hit
the game winner. Unbelievable for folks. Now it's time to belly.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Up to a bar.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
This weekend we got the big boys taking stage Ohio, Stateton,
Texas at noon on Saturday, LSU went Clemson later that evening,
