lot to discuss with you before we dive into Thursday
night football. I'm always intrigued by this because somebody there's
so many good lines out there. You turn the you

turn on TV on Monday, and you know the people
that have been doing it forever. They pulled the trends
out like, for instance, the one trend that caught my
attention Julian from get Up. And you know that they've
had this year and year out. And it's what you
should do when you're in the content world. They ain't
gonna tell you do great job. For DKA network teams
that start oh and two, there's only been four teams

that have started oh and two that have made the
Super Bowl. Three out of the four did win the
Super Bowl. One of them happened to be the new
England Patriots. I don't remember what year it was. The
Giants was.

Man, what a day that was? What a day. Bill
Belichick's got the whole team running out. Now we're not

first games they ever wagered on.

Withoud that being said, week one, I'm curious, where are
you at? What's the overreaction from week one? Like the
eyes are lying about something? Overreaction from week one? Julian,
where are you going with that?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
So you told me before we even went on the
air that you were gonna ask me this, and I've
been thinking about it, and like, I don't even have
a good one. I So I'm curious because week one,
for the first time, you know, we're used to survivor
leagues getting mauled, like ninety ninety five percent get through.
I don't like, what are the what are the storylines?

(03:29):
Who are the surprising teams that were like bad or
good that we we didn't expect Colts Daniel Jenon yeh
Colts Colts Colts Dolphins was the most surprising score, right,
So if I had, if I had to say, like
one overreaction, maybe it's the Dolphins. They're They're not as
bad as they played against the Colts. The Colts might

be a little better than we thought. It would not
surprise me at all. In fact, I like the Dolphins
over the Patriots this weekend. I haven't bet it, but
if I do, it will be Miami money line. So
I guess that would be the biggest overreaction that the
Dolphins are just dreadful. But I don't think they're very good.
I think they're just going to strong bounce back spot

to play a lot better at home against the Patriots.
But like nothing else we saw was that crazy.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
I don't think what about Jets Steelers, because I would
go a little bit the other way where I wasn't
that surprised from the Steelers, but I think in a loss,
people are really praising the Jets and being like this
team could be legit, this could team could potentially be
a playoff contender, and I think that is a bit
of an overreaction. What do you think from that Jets
Steelers final score? Because that was a pretty surprising not
result necessarily, but final score.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Oh yeah, yeah, that was the lowest total on the
board and we got sixty six points. So from a
betting standpoint, I mean, that's the most surprising off the total.
If people if that Jets type is out there, then yeah,
I'm against. This is not going to be a This
is not going to be a playoff team. Just because

they're zero to one with a lot against the Steelers
team that we'll see what they are.

People are pushing that justin field narrative.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
I picked them up.

You could not over Pittsburgh. Yeah, but go ahead, Well,
I I guess maybe. Uh you caught me buying into
the hype in a way though, because I did bet
Jets team total over nineteen and a half this week.

All right, yeah, you're buying in.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
I just think as much of as much as I
don't think the Jets are going to be some high
flying offense by by any means or a playoff team.
But Fields had the forty eight yards and two rushing touchdowns.
He was sixteen for twenty two for over two hundred
yards in a passing touchdown haul ran it nineteen times
for one hundred and seven yards, and now you're playing

a Bill's defense that I don't think is very good.
I know it's the Ravens, the you know, Lamar Jackson
and Derrick Henry not exactly justin fields and brisall, but
I think that they're gonna be able to run the ball.
They gave up two hundred and forty ish rushing yards Buffalo.
The secondary doesn't look all that good. Now you're coming
off that huge primetime win, going on the road in

the division. Jets just put up thirty two against Pittsburgh.
I think they can easily find their way to twenty
against a worse defense that's in a bad spot.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
All right, well, great stuff there. I agree with you
as far as the Jets are concerned. And it is
interesting to bring up the fact that, like if it
does flip around, what are we saying about justin fields,
like if they were able to stink that game out,
I think that we're saying something completely different.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Of course we are.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
About that game instead of the focus on Aaron Rodgers
who looked good four touchdowns, got sacked four times, no interceptions.
But I just think the storyline would have been so
much more enticing for Justin fields if they were able
to come out on top. Of course, going head to
head former team Rogers, big lightning rod there and coming
toy with that victory did not happen on to the

next one. And that brings us to Thursday night football.
Let's do it, Julian, tonight. We got ourselves a good game.
Three and a half points spread on DraftKings sportsbook. Right
now as we stand, I'm curious, what do you think
happens come kickoff? Does this number move to a flat three?
Do you think it increases, goes to four? We'll start there,
and of course I want to hit some totals, some props,
all that, but what do you think happens to this number?

(07:20):
If somebody says, you know what, I want to take
the Packers. But do you think it might drop the three?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, we've had it at three at one point in
time on DK it bounced back to three and a half.
Last I looked it was only minus one oh two
on the Packers side, So this one easily could come
down to three. And it's about sixty two thirds of
the money on Green Bay. So a little bit of
reverse line movement, which is always raises eyebrows at least,

(07:47):
but there are threes out there, so if you look
across the market, so you know, draftings may be shown
a little bit more resistance. But yeah, I think this
is going to close a juice three and a half
where you gotta lay some juice on Washington or come
kicks down to three because it's already it's already been there.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Who's real in this game, Julian? Are both teams real?
Do you see the Commanders after one game? Of course,
we only have one game sample size, so I'm not
trying to sit here and tell you like we need
a concrete answer. We're gonna hold it to you over
the course of the next four months. But after one
game and having the opportunity to see who they played,
of course the Giants and they're flawed across the board,

(08:31):
specifically on defense. But the Packers beat down a damn
good Detroit Lion team and they, I mean the Lions
were atrocious. I think they totaled up fifty yards rushing total.
Is there a fraud team in tonight's game or a
both teams real in your mind?

Speaker 2 (08:47):
No, I don't think there's a fraud And maybe Washington
takes a little bit of a step back from all
that success they had in Jane Daniels rookie season. Everybody
will mention the sophomore slump with the quarterbacks. J Stroud
probably the most notable recent one. But I think Washington's
done a good job of kind of adding to that team.

(09:10):
Are they gonna be as successful as last year? I
don't know, but I think they're a good team. I
think they're they're for real, They're not a fraud. And
on the green Bay side, I'm I'm in on green Bay.
I think green Bay is a contender in the NFC.
They're about as good as anyone in the conference right now.
The run defense gave up forty six yards to the

Lions last week. They spread the ball around on offense.
I'm down on the Lions. We probably talked about this
on here at some point over the summer, and losing
those two coordinators, that's gonna hurt, and it looked like
it hurt in that game, but they still dominated that game.

(09:51):
I'm I'm very high on Green Bay, so they certainly
are are for real in my mind.

Speaker 1 (09:56):

I sixteen of twenty two for one eighty eight. He
hit a ton of receivers.

He hit a ton of receivers, and I think he
only had six dropbacks in the second half because that
game was so in hand true against Detroit, I would
say this is going to be a more competitive game,
which will mean more throwing, so he should be able
to achieve that number again. So I would lean with
I would lean with Sean here, but this is not
one that I'm playing.

Okay, he's got over nine and a half for Jayden
Daniels rushing attempts. Pulling up the box score from last week,
Aiden Daniels ran the football eleven times for sixty eight yards.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
He had a long run of fourteen. You like that play?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, I would probably prefer the yards, but the yards
have really moved. I think forty three and a half
to forty nine and a half. I'm not sure what
it currently sits. That's been a really popular bet. Number
one because he had the success last week. Number two
because of how successful Green Bay was against the run.
Golf's not going to get out and hurt you with
his legs. Jaden Daniels can make those plays and give

you some rushing yards that way. And you know, Eckler
more of a pass catcher. The rookie Glory Bill Bill
Hill whatever we'll just call it Hill. I can't get
this kid's name so hard. He did well ten carries

(11:55):
for eighty two yards in a touchdown. He only played
twenty seven percent of the snaps though, So how involved
are you gonna get him on a short week in
Green Bay against a good defense. I prefer the rushing
yards to the rushing attempts. But yeah, Jayden Daniels running
the ball has to be in the game playing for Washington,
all right.

It's a high number Thursday Night football.

Have you been able to come up any trends of
significance when it comes to Thursday Night football that made
you play or look a certain way or maybe you
hold off on a play with the tren as far
as Thursday night football is concerned, is it more beneficial
to the home team?

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Is there anything like that that jumped off the page
and your research over the last week or so.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Not? Really, Both of these coaches are really good Week
two coaches. They're good at taking that first game of
what they've done and what their opponent's done and crafting
that into a good Week two game plan. So that's
kind of a wash. Washington was good on the road
and good. You remember early in the season as an

(13:30):
underdog last year, like the primetime Monday Night went against
the Bengals when nobody believed in them. So both teams
have kind of been good in this spot. I told
you I think both teams are for real, So that
makes it a difficult game to call again at minus three,
I would lean Packers consider maybe like a half a
unit play on the Packers. But I played one debo

prop in this one so far, and that's about it
for me.

What was a debo prop? I forgive me if you
said it.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Receptions over four and a half again, DKN Daily Bets.

This was plus one oh five when we started the podcast.
It was even money when we got off, so we

I looked, So we're getting a little juicy. But yeah,

got Terry McLaurin working in after the contract dispute. Again.
What I really like is that Green Bay looks like
they can stop the run. So if they're gonna stop,
you know, kind of a lacking Washington running back room.
Maybe it's Daniels with his legs, but I think they
get Debo involved with some screens, some short passing game

type of stuff. It's been all praised for Debo from
the Washington staff. They're saying how great shape he's gotten in,
how he's been at every practice, how he's done everything
they've asked of him, and they rewarded him with the
ball in Week one. They didn't need to target him
ten times in a win where the Giants scored six points.
They did. I think he'll see some targets tonight.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Let's go to Sunday and let's bring it to our backyard.
But we're heading to Arrowhead. It's the Chiefs and Eagles
rematch of the Super Bowl. Let's do it again. Birds
are point and a half favored. I think the look
aheadline before the season started had the Chiefs favored by three.
Immediately following the game, the Chiefs were favored by a
point and a half. Then all of a sudden, it
just crashed out and the Eagles are now the favorite

(15:20):
at a point and a half.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Forty six and a half is our total. I believe
that's a six.

I'm going blind here four to twenty five kickoff Game
of the Week, four Fox here, number one?

Where does this number go? By?

Kickoff? And number two? I'm all over the Eagles. I
think this is a slam dunk spot. And I don't
think I've ever said that before for anybody playing the Chiefs,
let alone going into Arrowhead. I just think that the
line is telling. I think that the Eagles are too much.
And oh, by the way, Jae and Carter is going
to be miserable getting back out there. It's going to

take out his frustrations. They're depleted, like point blank. I
know they have mahomes, but that's a team that's searching
for answers, no run game, struggling on the offense line, receivers.
Of course, Worthy was out there today, but he's a
small body. I don't know what he's gonna be able
to give you. I can go on and on.

I love the Eagles here on Sunday where you dually.

All right? I don't know if I can call Mahomes
off a lost. Just bet with me. I'm gonna bring
it all around. I don't know if I can call
Mahomes off a lost coming home for a rematch against
the team that he lost to in the Super Bowl
as a home underdog for the second time in his career.
A slam dunk spot. Wow wow, I do lean Eagles

or pass. I don't. This is the best game of
the weekend. I don't think I'm gonna bet this game
again every if if everything was even, or if this
was later in the season, I would really like the
Chiefs in this spot. But it's not as good of
a revenge spot as as it is, especially coming off
a loss. The Eagles are more rested because they played

(16:58):
on Thursday night. Chiefs played on for they chief stuff.
Even though the Eagles are the road team, the Chiefs
have the massive travel disadvantage coming back from Brazil. Chiefs
are down, Rice Worthies dinged up. They have. Mahomes made
some unbelievable plays in that game, but the Chiefs have
some problems of their own. But again I have concerns

(17:18):
about the Eagles. Mahomes can pick that secondary apart, we
saw it. Have issues with Prescott and Lamb. Now that
Mahomes has a CD Lamb, but Hollywood Brown got sixteen targets,
ten receptions. He did some stuff with you know, his opportunity.
The Eagles are the better team and I would lean

(17:40):
their way, but I can't ultimately pull the trigger on
going against the Chiefs in this spot.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
Yeah, this is the classic, not even classic. But the
Eagles are the better team, no doubt. But you just
take Mahomes. Look, I'm probably gonna end up betting on
the Eagles, but you take Mahomes and you just look
the other way. I mean, this is probably the first
time in Mahomes' career maybe that he's now consecutive games
where he's been the worst quarterback on the field, going

(18:07):
back to the Super Bowl against Jalen Hurts and in
that Chargers game justin Herbert Herbert was the better quarterback.
Has that ever happened in Patrick Mahomes's career? Back to
back games he has been the worst quarterback on the
This is just like the Eagles are the way better team,
but a revenge spot on the road for the Birds.
It just it feels like you just take Mahomes and

you just close your eyes and you trust them. Look,
I mean, if the Eagles are the better team, no
doubt you're fence over see. I'm probably I'm just not
going to bet this game. Is I have too much
of an emotional investment already. But like if I was
going to advise someone, I just it would be a
really uncomfortable spot.

For me to bet against Mahomes.

That's fair.

But we will see on that when I am all
over the birds there, Julian, take us out from the
NFL perspective, and I want to get over to college.
One play on your card that you love, whether the
line moved or not. I know you hop on them
early here, and there's been significant movement all across these games,
as there often is. But Week two here we are injury,
so on and so forth. But one play NFL for

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Where you going, Yeah, I really like the Jets team total,
But we already talked that one. So I'll give you
my favorite player prop of the week, and that is
James Connor, Arizona running back. I played him over sixty
and a half rushing yards. I think we ticked up
to sixty three and a half. I'm fine with that.
He had twelve carries for only thirty nine yards against

(19:30):
the Saints last week. Got about two thirds of the
looks over Tray Benson. Benson got the made the most.
He had the eight carries for sixty nine yards. He
was the one that was able to break it. But
Connor is the guy in Arizona's backfield. Now they're at
home floating around a touchdown favorite against Carolina. I don't know.

(19:51):
You don't want to overreact to one week, but Carolina's
run defense gave up two hundred yards in that game.
Travis Etn had sixteen carries for a hundred forty three yards.
It's one week, but we can just look back and
know the Panthers run defense has been awful for years.
Last year they were dead last in the NFL. They
gave up one hundred and eighty rushing yards a game.

(20:11):
It got worse as the season went on. Over the
last three games of the season, they gave up over
two hundred and ten rushing yards per game, and they
gave up two hundred in the opener. So Panthers run
defense is broken. I have no reason to believe that
they're just gonna fix it this week after a season
plus is being awful. So now we're getting a low
number here by low spot because Connor only had thirty

(20:32):
nine rushing yards against a bad team in the Saints
in Week one. This is a great spot for him
to do what tank bigs not tank bigsby Travis DTN.
Did you guys have tank bigsby? I know, do what
Travis ETN did. Maybe not a buck forty three, but
this is one you might want to look at some ladders.
Seventy eighty ninety plus rushing yards.

Ooh love the ladder attack. Always down for a good

on over to the college game. I want to ask
you about Georgia and Tennessee from the start. This is
a game that I can't wait to watch three thirty
ABC on Saturday. Georgia on the road, three and a
half point favorites fifty and a half.

But this is the issue with this game.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
It's like anytime these two teams matched up over the years,
you would take Georgia, and you wouldn't even think twice
about it. This is like the first time in forever
that I'm convincing myself. And I know Tennessee has won
some big games. Don't get around the beat Alabama, so
on and so forth, whatever, But Tennessee this year is
putting up some points. They got a number of receivers
that are big body receivers six.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Foot or more.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
They threw up a huge number against syrahcuse good passing attack,
love hypel But I'm having a hard time hit send
on the wager with the Valls. If I was playing
this game, I want to take Tennessee. What are you
saying in this game, Julie.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
You said in the past it's Georgia. Don't even think
twice about it.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
This week, Georgia. Don't even think twice that we're getting
value here. This was six and a half at one
point in time. I think it might have touched seven
and a half at DK sportsbooks because people were down
on Tennessee coming into the season. Now because they score
points on Syracuse and East Tennessee State, now they're good.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
I'm taking the cheese.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
You are taking the cheese. Joey Aguilar. He was a
good quarterback at app State. Now you're gonna go up
against the Georgia defense. Uh, this is the biggest game
of Joey Aguilar's life. Previous biggest game of Joey Aguilar's
life was last year against Clemson. App State was down
thirty five and nothing after a quarter. I don't think

you know it's apples oranges. You're with Tennessee. Now you
got better guys to block for you, better guys throw
the ball to and so on. But I don't know
if he's up for this challenge even at home. I
trust George's defense and Kirby Smart does not care about
those earlier games against Marshall and Austin pe and that

they didn't cover and that they didn't score enough points.
They just go out there and run a basic defense,
get the stops. They've only allowed seven points on the
season or whatever it is in total, and offensively they
show nothing. I maybe I believe in Gunner Stockton a
little bit more than your your average college football fan,
but he's got some games under his belt, going back

to big stages last year. I think George is just
going to unleash stuff they haven't shown yet this season
because they haven't had to show a single thing, and
Tennessee's been pedal to the medal the whole way, you know,
trying to show that they do have something. I trust
George's defense, I trust Kirby Smart, and I think they're

(23:52):
gonna be able to hold Tennessee to a much lower
number than we've been seeing so far this season. And
I think they're gonna be able to do enough offensively. Here.
This is a discount. This is a discount on Georgia,
and that's rare, and I'm taking it, all right.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Get you out of here on this one, and then
I want to hear one play for our listening audience
that you have in your college car. But Texas A
and M Notre Dame under a touchdown at six and
a half, all eyes would be on this one.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Notre Dame cannot lose.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
If they do, they'll be out of the college football
playoff this year, from the national championship to not even
making the playoffs. Tough spot for them here, probably the
most difficult first two games of the season for anybody
in college football. A and M come in to town,
but they're six and a half point dogs the Irish.

Are they covering that number? Are the Irish winning?

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Julian, Well, I'll disagree with you on one thing. I
think that a ten and two Notre Dame team is
certainly College Football Playoffs worthy, whether that loss comes this
week to A and M, later to a USC or
A Pittsburgh. I think Notre Dame has one more loss
that that they can manage and still be able to

(24:58):
get in at ten and two. I think there would
be an uproar if a ten and two Notre Dame
team was was left out.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Wait, hang on, hang on.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
So if they lose to Miami and then followed up
with A and M. Let's just say this loss A
and M in Miami, and then we get to the
end of the season and all of a sudden we're
balancing resumes, comparing and contrasting, just like we did last year.
You think there would be still enough juice meat on
that bone with their schedule now they do have you

you just went down some names. You think they still
have a shot at getting in? Oh?

Yeah, absolutely, especially because that team is then on a
ten game winning streak and that's what people are going
to be talking about.

like I would put a really tough nine to three
team in. Who's in the SEC with a really hard schedule?
First of Notre Dames? And this comes up every year
for so a Notre Dame team that's a two lost
team that's lost both ranked matchups on the resume, doesn't
have any really great resounding wins.

Let's put a pen in this conversation until November, all right,

To know, well, the thing is I probably I probably
would put a nine and three SEC team in over
a ten and two Notre Dame as well, me too.
That's what everybody wanted last year with nine and three
Alabama and they put SMU in.

So what did South Carolina had last year? How many losses.
Did they have three three as well?

Yeah, the three sec team left out SMU like they're
gonna balance this out a little bit. So anyway, whatever,
that's we have plenty of times.

We're talking about that in November, Yes exactly, I do.

I don't think we're gonna hit that conundrum because I
think Notre Dame wins this game. I'm not laying it
with them, but I think they win it. I played
a smaller play. I played the under forty nine and
a half. I played the under fifty four and a
half before it went down in Miami. Notre Dame it
ultimately got there, So I'm kind of going with the
same technique here. This was twenty three thirteen at Kyle

(27:15):
Field last year. Connor Wegman was bad in that game.
I like read a lot more, adds a dual threat
quarterback for a and m Notre Dame is going to
look to run the ball. I thought they should have
run more against Miami. I don't know why they don't
with that offensive line and the two running backs coming back,
but I expect them to do that here at home. CJ.

Carr was okay. I thought he got a lot better
as the game went on, especially when he had to improvise.
Not the strongest take in the world for me on
this game, but I think Notre Dame does win, and
I think there is it is worth a small play
on the under forty nine and a half.

George is going to be my biggest bet. I can
tell you that George is gonna be my biggest bet,

going to take the value on Clemson. They've you know,
brutal loss to LSU, could not score in the second half,
unbelievably sloppy start against Troy. They come out do what

they have to do in the second half. That was
clearly a look ahead spot. I would say in between
an LSU game that was big to open the season
and your ACC opener against the Georgia Tech team that
is somewhat of a threat in the ACC. Georgia Tech
was pretty sloppy in the win at Colorado. I laid
the points with him in that game, got lucky to
get the late touchdown from Haines King and cover that game.

(28:44):
King didn't even play last week. He's got a foot
leg injury. Yep. Foot and leg injuries have bothered him
throughout his career wherever he's been, so I'm not totally
sure he's one hundred percent. I trust the Clemson d
line to look good in this game, and just please
figure something out on offense because it's brutal to watch.

(29:05):
But maybe this is a little bit of my preseason bias,
but I'm giving Clemson again this This touched seven at
certain points and now we're getting Clemson minus three. I
cannot resist that. I have to stick with my my
belief on Clemson, and I think Georgia Tech is a
little bit vulnerable at this early stage in the season,

especially with King dinged up. I will lay the three
with Clemson.
