Speaker 1 (00:18):
Dailly.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Take it with you here, Kyle Fisher, hanging with me
for the first hour, having some fun as always.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Phillies take two or.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Three against one of the hottest teams in baseball, the
Chicago Cubs. Your big takeaway from the series, Kyle Fisher,
Just a nice rebound.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Good to see strong pitching Wheeler being back rebounding against
a big team after a little bit of a struggle there.
It'll be interesting to see how Mike Able rebounds. But
to get Lozardo back on track is huge. Taking two
of three from the Cubs never hurts, regardless of what
you're doing before, but after that rough stretch, it's good
to see the boys back in the win column two
out of three.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
And the Phillies will have the day off tomorrow, a
much needed day off, Yes sir, Yes, sir.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
They have really abused the bullpen this past this past stretch,
so much needed, much earned day off after taking the series.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
And then they have the Blue Jays coming into town
for three on a Friday. Saturday Sunday, Hey, shout out
beef up front tailgates Saturday. We're still talking about rain.
I haven't checked, you know, I get it. It's a
beautiful day outside. No one wants to hear about this.
It's Dad's weekend, bro, what do you got going on

(01:32):
this weekend? Happy Father's Day, Early Father's Day.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
To you, thank you very much, saying to you, I
actually have tickets for Saturday's games.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Oh dude, Yes, we're going to be right behind, right
behind Infinity live on the little the grassy knoll right there,
up against defence.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
You can't miss this.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's gonna be one one old guy and about one
hundred young people. All right, the young guy is going
to be controlling the party anyways. Yeah, it's looking like
a thirty two percent chance of rain.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Whatever. I'll have the tarpaul of the easy ready to go.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
But it is supposed to be nice Tomorrow, hot one, tomorrow,
ninety two, and then eighty five.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
I'm playing golf on Friday.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Use the day again, I say, you know what, got
these vacation days, and they're not gonna get used if
I don't use them. Let's go ahead and pop that in.
So Friday, playing some golf with the boys out there.
Dad's weekend, all right, So blue Jay's coming in, beef
up front, tailgate, Come one, come all, on Saturday. We'll
be out there at noon all the way up until
first pitch, which would be a four o'clock four or
five whatever it is. Kyle Schwuerber, Bibblehead Day for kids

(02:33):
under fourteen?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Okay? Nice? All right? Why don't kids under fourteen always
get the good stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Back in my day? Kyle? Didn't we back in our day?
Excuse me? Didn't we all get didn't we all go
home with a bobblehead?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I thought I thought it was for everybody back in
the day, like certain things like little kid lunchbox is sure,
but sure bobbleheads used to be for everybody. Yes, apparently
there were kids toy Charlie would speak differently, see Charlie
Manuel right there. I got that, and I was definitely
about was I above fourteen?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Probably above fourteen?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
I need. I went to a game couple years ago
with a Mother's Day weekend, if I'm not mistaken, or
it was a Mother's Day present that was paid off later,
and we walked out of there were five brad Lydges.
Brad Lydge bobble heads. Now there was five of us.
Everybody got one. Everybody got one.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I want to swim My son got grilled by the
guy about his about his date of birth the other day.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
He's eighteen.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
He's obviously not fourteen right when you look at him,
you know he's a little bit older than that. But
we studied the what would your birthday be if you
were fourteen quite a few times on the road down
and the guy grilled him about his date of birth
before just like reluctantly shoving the shirt into his chest.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Oh come on, these people.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Man gave him a hard time and.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
A T shirt right of all things, a T shirt,
nothing big. Come on, man, it ain't your product. Give
it up anyways. We'll leave him alone for now. Let's
get on over to the world of the NFL. Of course,
Phillis did just win seven to two, took two or
three against Cobby's Blue Jays coming.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Up on Friday. Over to the NFL. I want to
talk about the soul. I want to talk about what
hits you from the soul.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Apparently Aaron Rodgers, playing quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The
only reason why he is is because it spoke to
his soul.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
A lot of decisions that I've made over my career
in life from strictly to ego, even if they turn
out well or always unfulfilling, but the decisions made from
the soul are usually pretty fulfilling. So this was a
decision that was best for my soul.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh that's deep. That's deep.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I need the harp to play underneath that one. You know, Look,
Rogers is gonna be forty two, right. I think when
the season gets going forty one, whatever it is, he's
not getting any younger. I don't think that the offensive
line is gonna be all that good weapons DK Metcalf
and then who else. I don't think that this is
going to be the proper send off that maybe Rogers

(05:03):
just hoping for. I am happy that he is playing.
I'm not going to lie about that. No one wanted
to see who was in There was Skyler Thompson, Mason Rudolph,
and they draw Will Howard right then they draft Will Hard.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
I didn't want to know.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
I didn't want to see either one of those guys
suiting up for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I'm all right with Rogers being back in town. Now.
The question that I have for you is have you
ever had something to speak to your soul?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
I mean not like that this guy is something.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I don't know how he got married.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
He's been doing ayahlatka, getting married, I will change in
long term relationships and suddenly breaking up. He's got family problems.
The guy has a lot going on up here. But
part of what goes on up there is some football
genius and it's what we'll see this season if he
has a little bit left. That's the funniest part to
me was the announcement video. Normally, when you put out

(05:56):
an announcement video, Hey we signed this big name guy,
it's all look what he's done, multi time MVP, blah
blah blah.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Well, part of it, even.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
In the Steelers announcement, was does he have it left
in the tank? And even they are like, yeah, this
dude's old man, but we're kind of we're kind of
grasping at.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Straws, are hoping. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I didn't understand it, but I didn't gonna say whit.
White took so long. It seemed that they were pretty
zeroed in on him long term. And if you're a
zeroed in on a guy who has won maybe two years,
then why are you trading George Picketts? I don't know,
there's a lot of questions about the way that that
team has handled their off.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
There you go right on a tee perfect segue.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Is you know we talk about this Pittsburgh Steelers team
in like such a manner and they deserve the respect
from what they did with the steel curtain Bradshaw one
for the one for the thumb, right, they did they
win five that they got six super Bowls, five super Bowls,
whatever it is, like we six is the six.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
We know Ben Roethlisberger had a great run.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
We know that the Pittsburgh Steelers at one point time
multiple times over the past few decades, is one of
the best franchises in football. But does that passed? And
how long do you do you keep bumping that out there?
Does that not go away? Kind of like how people
consider America's seem to be the Dallas Cowboys, right because
I'm looking at this Pittsburgh Steeler franchise right now and

(07:19):
I don't see greatness. I don't see a lot of
getting things right. Let's just start there, because you look
at what they had with the opportunity and whether we
want to believe it or not, let's just go with
some of the rumors apparently Justin Fields was their number.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
One guy this offseason.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Who oh, by the way, was on your team last
year and you pulled them when you had success.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
So maybe maybe they didn't.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Have their heart set on Aaron Rodgers and it, you know,
desperate spot where they had to sign them and now
here we are and that might have been the weak
But I feel like they have butchered this quarterback situation.
There's no way that Tomlin could be looking himself into
mere going we're we're a playoff contender. We are a
more than a playoff contender. We are a potential team

(08:06):
that you need to look out for come December slash
January into February. With Rogers in there or Mason Rudolph
or Skyler Thompson or Will Howard whatever it may be,
the weapons on offset on the offense not there except
for DK Metcalf, Like, yeah, this franchise, I don't know.
I think they're living off of what they did in
the heyday slash Ben Roethlisberger, which wasn't all that long ago.

(08:30):
But man, they have really really butchered this quarterback situation.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
And now end up with Aaron Rodgers at the age
of forty one.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Well, it's tough to have consistent quarterback play in this league.
We've seen it over over year after year. Teams struggle
to find the right guy, the guy that's gonna fit
their system, is their system, the right thing they should
be running.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
When you have a long.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Term coach like this, which is what their last three
coaches have been, really long term coaches. But when you
have a coach like Mike Tomlin, who's widely respected by veterans,
who has a great track record, it's easy to trick
yourself into thinking, yeah, we're that same team, we're just
one piece away, we're just x away.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
But they weren't a roster that was a quarterback away.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
When I heard people talk about the Steelers, nobody thought, man,
if they had insert decent quarterback who might be available,
they're just as good as the Eagles or the Niners
or the Ravens, who are considered the best rosters top
to bottom in the league. They weren't even in that conversation.
I mean that they coached. They still play defense well,
even without some of the flashy names.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
We know TJ.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Watt, but he's that We'll see how that contract.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Situation plays out.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
But they have played defense well and that has carried them,
but they're not stellar on defense. They're strong on defense,
not stellar, and they're definitely not stellar on the offensive end.
Bring in one weapon, lose another, and then you have
to scramble to find your quarterback. Yeah, it's living off.
It's not quite for the level of people who talk

(09:56):
about the Cowboys as one of the best team. And
I can tell them to go pull out their VHS
taps to see the last time they had glory.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
But you know, it's it's in Blu Rays territory.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
You can't exactly help on the streaming site easily and
see and see some success from the Steelers. So obviously
that's coming from an Eagles fan who's been blessed lately
and would be in that exact same conversation, had an
up in for this recent run. So yeah, it's it's struggle.
We'll see how it goes. But I would imagine that
Tomlin's rope is getting a little thinner these this year,

(10:26):
maybe next year. I think that they could easily blame
it on the quarterback. Steelers don't like to make a
lot of change. He's a well respected guy, so maybe not.
But you can only go so far without doing some
damage in the playoffs before the fan base is going
to turn on.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yeah, you know, you do have to worry about the fans,
no doubt about that. They're very loyal out there. I
would say, like it's almost how Pittsburgh wants to be viewed,
and they have this shiny object to Mike Tomlin. And
I love Mike Tomlin. I love them more five, six,
seven years ago. I think he's a good coach right now.
He's a guy that I we love to play for,

(11:00):
but he's not the end all be all for me.
But what I mean by that is like it feels
like one of the things that the Steelers really are
proud about it they don't fire their coach. It's like,
all right, you know, I did that work out for
Bill Kauer. Sure, but I could give you fifteen other
examples across the league that teams have held on to

(11:21):
this coach for a little bit longer than what he
and then it didn't work out. So coward deserves the respect.
I get that. Of course, Noel was a great coach
back in the day. Nobody's denying that. But okay, you
got Mike Tomlin, like he get knocked out in the
first round every single year. You're never you have zero

(11:41):
potential to be an upset type of team. Like when
they went up against the Ravens last year, nobody had that.
Nobody had the Ravens losing. No.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
I think that for them, it's like you said, it's
they might have trouble with firing the head coach. He
has a great system, Mary has a great history, but
the key is maybe pushing him into getting some of
his assistants younger. Right, the game is evolving and he's
a smart enough football mind to.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Change with it.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
But if your entire staff thinks about football in a
way that's no longer the way that football's played, then
you run into troubles. I don't think that's necessarily where
they're at, but if they don't start getting some youth
in that coaching staff and so strong youth player wise,
then they're just going to be an afterthought. I know
we keep throwing this comparison out there, but they're going

(12:28):
to be like the.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Cowboys yep, plus five fifty to win the division. The
AFC North really good and at the top of the
list the Ravens minus one forty five on DraftKings Sportsbook. Now,
staying in that division, I want to talk about a
franchise that doesn't pretend that they are top dogs.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
They are one of the worst.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Run franchises in the history of the NFL for my money,
and that's the Cincinnati Bengals and what they're doing right
now with Trey Hendrickson, who has done his fair share
and more, and he wants a new contract. He started
negotiating lack last year for it led the league back
to back seasons. If I'm not mistaken, as far as

(13:05):
total sacks, I know over the two seasons combined, he
has been the sack leader, which is crazy. You know,
we just brought up what he's gonna get a new contract.
They were showing some numbers this morning on ESPN, So
essentially Hendrickson is like twenty one million. I think Watt
was like twenty seven to twenty eight million, So it'll
be intriguing to see what Wat gets because guess what,

(13:26):
that's the bar. And when you have a guy underneath,
you know, in underneath your roof who's had even better years, like,
you're gonna have to match that.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
So they've butchered this situation.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
As we were talking about the Steelers to an executive
with the quarterback situation, the quarterback scenario with Rogers bringing
him in there.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
But now this is news to me.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
This blew my mind because this eventually has to have
some carryover. You're talking about a team that has not
made the playoffs and back to back season Cincinnati Bengals.
Yes they went to that Super Bowl, Yes they have
an unbelievablequarterback. Yes they got the great wide receiver corps. Understood,
But man, we're talking about a team that has yet
to make the playoffs and back to back seasons. And

(14:07):
then they go out there and draft Shamar Stewart out
of Texas, a and m edge rusher on the defensive
side of the ball at seventeen overall, and apparently apparently
the Cincinnati Bengals are trying to lead the pack for
all teams following on the sword.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Doing it for all the general managers and.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Owners across the league to make a new precedent with
rookie contracts that allows the club to avoid future guarantees
if a player misses time whatever it may be. I mean,
the balls on the Cincinnati Bengals to be dealing with
Hendrickson at the way that they have which has been
downright disrespectful. Not my words, his words. And now you

(14:52):
have your first round pick that you went out and
drafted from A and M, a guy that can help
out your defense, and they are fighting. He's not even
under contract yet, he's in camp, into locker room trying
to learn the system. I think he deserves a lot
of credit on that one. And he said, quote, I'm
one hundred percent right. I'm not asking for nothing y'all

(15:16):
never done before. But in y'all's case talking about Cincinnati Bengals,
y'all just want to win arguments more than winning games.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Close quo. That is from your first round pick. Dude.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
They are just a terrible, terribly run organization year after
year after year.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
And I feel for a guy like Joe Burrow. I do, yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
I mean, we all know the talent Joe Burrow has.
He's absolutely lights out. Every time I think of his
stat lines, I always go back to like the old show,
Hey on the Angels, like show he's done something you've
never seen before. In the Angels lost eleven to four.
That's kind of how I feel like. Every time you
look at Burrow's stature, like how's this team hovering around

(15:59):
five hundred. They don't have an offensive line to protect him.
Their defense, even when it's good, there's no depth, and
then they they seem to penny pinch despite the NFL
being as strong as it's ever been and them having
exciting players that you want to watch. So it's I
don't know what they're doing as far as the defensive
ends are concerned. Obviously, we know that Hendrickson's been shopping

(16:20):
himself and there's gonna be mega money involved there. I
didn't even know about this with their first round pick,
that they're feuding there.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
It was news to me as well.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Not a good look for a franchise that looked as
promising as one could look and just has not taken
advantage of this window that they have with top tier
talent on the offensive end.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Cincinnati Bengals making the playoffs this.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Year, oh man, I don't know if they figure out
one of these guys to stick around, maybe, like you
always have a chance with Joe Burrow, yep, with the
wild card and Joe Burrow, you always have a chance.
I think there's a chance they could get in there,
but they're not gonna win that division. That's for darn shore.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
They're not and they are to win the division at
this point in time. Plus two thirty quickly on this
first time we've done this in a long time.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Week one at the Browns, Oh, what do I think
I mean? I picked them the Windows one to Week
two at home against the Jags. Oh man, that's a
win too, all right.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Two and oh on the road against the Vikings. Lost
all right, two and one on the road against the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Also a loss to two.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
At home against the Lions. Loss two and three on
the road against the Packers.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Ooh, I'll say a win three to three. First matchup
against the Steelers at home.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Four to three Jets at home, five and three Bears,
Bears at home at home.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
I'm gonna go lost.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Five and four. Interesting second round matchup against Steelers on
the road.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Another victory, another victory, all right. Wow. So that's six
and four at this point in time.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Patriots at home, that's a win seven, seven and four.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Ravens on the road.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
First matchup seven and five Bills on the road, seven
and six Ravens at home.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Lost seven and seven.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Bengals on the road against Miami win eight and seven
I'm at home against the Cardinals, win wine and seven,
and then they close up shop against the Cleveland Browns
and Schnor Sanders is the quarterback gotta win to get
into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
What do you say, Kyle Fischer.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
I'm gonna go lost.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
I don't know if that's going to get him in
a tough AFC.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Great stuff, Kyle, always great to have you in here
for the first hour on a Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Love it.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Let's rock and roll with it, please, Kyle Fisher forty
five on all things Socials. Where you can find them,
read them over at the Philly Sports Network that's at
Philadelphia s and what you got cooking?

Speaker 1 (19:16):
What do you got to plug here, sir?

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Right now? The thing that I'm working on, I'm going
to go looking a little outside the box, go for
specific needs, data data backed needs at the trade deadline,
focusing on two for one deal, so who can they
target and get two positions of needs, so a reliever
and an outfielder. And so that's the next piece that

(19:39):
I'm working on. It's kind of taking the data look
deep dive, focused on right handed bats and getting two
for one deals if they're available.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Kyle Fisher forty five.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
You're the best. Enjoy the rest of your day. Good
luck on any of those plays and go Bengals.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Thank you, sir, good luck to them.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Great stuff, awesome, awesome job, cousin Nikki, check it in
and who retires first, Lebron or Aaron Rodgers. Wow, I'll
have to think on that one. Great job, cousin Nikky
on that question. Also, I got this gentleman Mike who
follows and he always loves to poke the bear.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I have some fun and he.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Says, I mean, if you routinely make the playoffs year
and year out, you are a good franchise, no doubt.
That's the bar. That's the bar making the playoffs. You know,
all right, that's fair. But in Pittsburgh's situation, they are
talked about much higher than just making the playoffs. They

(20:40):
are not lately, But when you think about the Pittsburgh Steals,
all the history.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Oh, that's a great run franchise they've got. They've got
their coach for forty seven years and have never fired them.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Like, okay, show me something, and now you butcher this
opportunity to maybe get Justin Fields, the guy that you
wanted who was under contracked in your roof, you pulled them.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Who knows what's real and what's not.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
But the end of Aaron Rodgers at the age of
forty one, who really wasn't worth the dam last year?
And I was high on Aaron Rodgers like at the
end of season. But still I don't think he's gonna
do much in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
It's a good conversation again, pretending franchises that are masquerading
out as around as you know, a little bit better
than what they really are on the inside. That's the
conversation we just had there. You know what's something I
will dial up for Roy Burton, He joins me. On
the other side, we're going to continue with the football
flavor here. We will mix in some NBA conversation, but

(21:34):
all things fantasy. What Roy Burton quarterbacks, Let's talk some qbs.
I want to know what he has to say about
quarterbacks that we should be waiting for. Also want to
get into a little bit of the divisions as well.
We'll fire up DraftKings, take a peak in some of
those odds. It's a daily take.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
It more to this
