Philadelphia is Fox Sports Radio The Gambler. Here it is
baseball season. Finally year we got action. Last night we
was watching a little bit of the Dodgers, the Dodgers

(00:26):
and the Angels, and it felt like baseball season. Yeah,
was already off and running. Hasn't started just yet unless
you want to count Chicago and the Dodgers the Tokyo Series.
But for the majority of us, nope, starting this week
and including the Phillies coming up here a little later
this week joining me to break down all things MLB discussion, predictions, totals, awards,

(00:52):
and then some Luke Arcaney, our Phillies Insider. Phillies open
up shopping the twenty seventh Thursday. Luke, how we doing
doing great?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
I'm about twenty what forty eight hours around there. I
think we've got a four h five tip off on
our tip off first pitch on on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Sorry, we are.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
We are rocking and rolling ready to go.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
In about two days we will have some tipping off
at seven o'clock. Is that the first game seven o'clock
on that there. Yeah, b Yu and Alabama coming over.
Nine awesome. Let me open up the show by saying
happy birthday to Luke. It's this big day today. How
about that? Sports fans?

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Oh yeah, big two three?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
What are you doing tonight? Oh Jordan, that's a fun year.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, fun yea mjay, nothing crazy, just some dinner with
the fam. It is a Tuesday, unfortunately, you know, nothing
wrong with having some fun on a Tuesday. But we'll
be responsible tonight and we'll get into some things maybe
on Friday or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Get the club going up on a Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Come on, oh, big time, big time, Come on, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
We got some awards. We're gonna discs from c SI,
A Young and MVP. We got six postseason spots and
both leagues division winners wild cards, and we got some
sleeper teams and some teams that we have our eyes
on and more. Let's get to it. What do you say,
Let's talk about the NL East. Of course we will
start there or refresh everybody's brain from last season. Braves

(02:22):
dealt with a ton of injuries. Mets played their brains
out mid summer until the close up of the well
until they were eliminated. Nationals were the Nats, and the
Marlins were even worse than the Nats. Phillies ended up
winning division ninety five and sixty seven, Braves eighty nine
and seventy three tied with the New York Mets. Luke

(02:43):
Rcaney as we look over at DraftKings Sportsbook for the futures,
as far as winning the division in the NL East
right now, as we stand, Braves plus one ten, Phillies
plus two to fifteen, Mets plus two forty Nats sixty
five to one and two fifty won the Marlins. Who's
winning the NL East?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:04):
First of all, I think Braves plus one ten for
a division like this is is a little crazy. I
didn't think they would be almost like even money to
win this division. I mean, realistically, I think we know
that there's three teams that can win this division, the Braves,
the Phillies and the Mets. I have the Phillies and

(03:24):
really it's it's it's not it's not to me, really
a Homer kind of thing. I think the Phillies have
the best roster in the NL East top to bottom.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I think it's very very close with the Braves.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I think it's a little close with the Mets, but
I don't think it's it's it's as close as people
think it is. And I don't think these Mets odds
should be as low as they are. Honestly, I think
what we've realized over the years is that you don't
get to ninety ninety five one hundred wins without really

(04:03):
good pitching.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
The Mets don't have good pitching. They're there, their staff's.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Really not that great. They're their bullpen's really not that great.
So for me, it really comes down to the Phillies
and the Braves. I have the Phillies of plus two fifteen.
I just think, once again, I just think it's a
slightly better roster. I will say this, I don't think
at the end of the season. I don't think the

(04:30):
standings and the records will be anything outside of three games.
I think I said to you the other day, I
think the last series of the year for the Phillies
is going to matter for something, and I think whatever
team clinches this then l least I think it'll probably
come down to the last series.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
But I do think it's going to be the Phillies
in the end.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Interesting, Yeah, I'm with you. I think, look as we
as we take a look around Major League Baseball as
a whole, looking for spots to to of course, way
you're on, the way you hit on the NL East
is kind of how I'm looking at a lot of
the league, and it's like, all right, realistically, like, yeah,
you're not going to look at the Marlins, You're not

(05:11):
going to look at the Nationals. Can the Mets win
this division this year? You're you're asking a lot. You
are asking a lot for the Mets to get right
in year one with Juan Soto, with the approach of
that that's starting five rotation, I know they're going to
get two pitchers back that are somewhat of significance throughout
the course of the season. They will be probably players

(05:33):
for a starter out there.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
It's also as it's asking a team that it took
Game one sixty three for them to get into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
It's asking a team like that to.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Go win the NLE East against a loaded Phillies team
and a loaded Braves team. I mean this, if there's
one team in baseball that's set for a bounce back season,
it has to be the Braves. I mean, they they
they almost got into the playoffs in one six and
I think every one of their starters were either out
for a month or out for the year last year.

(06:06):
They're set up for a nice, nice bounce back season.
I just think this division is gonna be really tight,
and I think in the end, I think the reason
that the Phillies are gonna win it is because how
much better their rotation is than everybody else's.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Yep, all right, look, we're gonna go a little head
to head on that one. I have no issues with it.
I do have the Phillies in the playoffs. But for us,
right here, right now, I am going to take the
Braves winning this division again.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
I would.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
It's just for the prediction side of things like wagering.
I'm with you. If I was placing a wager, there's
no way plus one ten on the Braves, And that
kind of goes against the lot because at the end
of the day, you just want to win. You want
to win your bets. But man, plus one ten, I
have to tie up money for a season on commitment
at plus one ten, I'd pass. So if I was

(06:56):
telling anybody's it seems like it'd be a little bit
more fun to bet the Phillies play plus two fifteen
to win the division. A little bit more value in
my mind as well. But either one of those teams
I think will win the division. Give me the Braves.
You're going, Phillies. Let's keep it moving, all right, Let's
get on over to the Central. Last year, Brewers ended
up winning ninety three and sixty nine, Cards finish eighty

(07:16):
three and seventy nine, tied with the Cubs. Cubs were
terrible too as well, especially on the offensive side eighty
three and seventy nine, red seventy seven, eighty five, Pirates
seventy six and eighty six. A competitive division, not the
best top to bottom, but a competitive division. Could it
be a little bit better this season? I think other
teams will. I think some teams will do good. I

(07:37):
think the Cardinals will take a step back this year.
But Luke Arcaney, as we get on over the Driftkings Sportsbook,
the Cubs plus one twenty five to win, plus two
sixty for the Brewers, Cardinals sixty to one, Reds plus
six fifty. Kyle Tucker Man, he's gonna have an impact
with the Cubs, Don't get me wrong, But is the
wrong team favorite to win the division here in your mind, yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
I kind of think they are.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
I think this this division, to me, I think should
be a lot more of a toss up on the
books than it is.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
I think this should be like.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
A Cubs plus one forty, Brewers plus one fifty kind of.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Thing like like that. This is such a toss up division.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
This is easily the biggest toss up in the entire league,
probably top to bottom, the worst I would say. I
would say, looking back at the end of the season,
if you combined all the wins in each division, I
would be willing to say the Central might be at
the bottom. It's just kind of a very average division.

(08:37):
There's a lot of average, just slightly above average teams.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
I think you could tell me either five of.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
These teams would win the division at the end of
the year and I wouldn't be like insanely shocked.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
I'm gonna take the Brewers.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
At plus two sixty just because of how many times
they've done it. I think it's a good number to
put a put up against a Hubs team who is
at plus one twenty five and they added a right
field bat and their rotation kind of got worse so
I like the Brewers.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Here at plus two sixty.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
I will say I don't hate the Reds at plus
six fifty either.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
I think their lineup can be like sneaky fun.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
A lot of people are having some flyers on Elie
to win MVP this year. I think the Reds can
make some noise. But this this is just a it's
an extremely boring division to bet watch everything about it.
But I would probably lean the Brewers plus two sixty.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, I would push back a little bit on the boring.
I think the Reds have some studs. Dela Cruz of course.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Maybe not boring.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, but scenes with the Pirates O'Neil cruise with the Pirates,
like they got some big time names. Yeah, I agree
with that very average division. With that being said, I'm
gonna ride. I am going to ride with the Cubs.
Here go, Cubs go. Shout out to our good friend
Sheffield Shuffler and all those cub fans out there. I'm

(10:07):
gonna ride with the Cubbies to get the job done
to win the division this year. Their favorite at plus
one twenty five. Again, brew Crew. I hate to say it,
but it's it's it marked the Tait Luke. I don't
know if they still do that, but at the end
of this year, plus two sixty for the Brewers. If
I'm giving you a play, that is the play to make.
But the Cubs at plus one twenty five, I'm gonna

(10:29):
go with the Cubs to win a division. Luke and
I are going head to head on that.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
I will say two in the Cubs.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
I think it's if the Cubs were more of like
a plus one point fifty plus one sixty kind of number,
I would definitely jump on that because I think their
lineup has the potential to be very fun.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
They have a ton of young guys in there now.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Obviously, Yeah, Tucker, their their biggest thing is they they
need to find the old Dansby. They they have to
find the old Dansby was a pretty brutal year for
him last year. If they have some old production from
him at Shortstop with Tucker, with Suzuki, Pico Armstrong, they
can they can win this division pretty easily.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
I just don't know if they will.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, I'm with you there, it's a big ask, But
you know what, let's put some expectations on those lovable
losers and see if they could turn something around this year.
It'd be fun to see the Cubs make the playoffs
for the first time since twenty twenty, which I believe
was the pandemic season. All right, next one up, Let's
go to the West and.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Wow, it's so much fun.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
So are you picking against? Are you picking against the Dodgers?

Speaker 3 (11:40):
I am for fun.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
I'm not saying the team I'm gonna pick is gonna win,
Like I guarantee you the team I'm gonna tell you
is not gonna win the division. But I'm not gonna
sit here with my hands under myself and better minus
five hundred.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
To win the division.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Round I did that.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
I'm throwing a tiny little flyer on the Diamondbacks.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Tiny tiny time.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
One six to one on the Diamondback, Tiny tiny bet.
I think their lineup got better, their rotation got better,
and their bullpen got better.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
They got better in every single aspect.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Obviously, we just got news of Jordan Montgomery needs Tommy
john not really that significant for them. He had like
a seventy r A last year. But if there was
a team for me to throw a flyer on, it
would be the Diamondbacks. I do have the Diamondbacks and
the Padres both in the Wildcard round. So this is

(12:33):
gonna be an awesome, awesome division. The Dodgers are probably
gonna win one hundred and five games. The Diamondbacks. I
love their win total. Their win total, I can't remember
the exact number, but it's it's just about my favorite
bet of the entire season. Uh yeah, So I have
I have them at over eighty six and a half
the correct Diamondbacks for this year. It's just it's it's

(12:57):
gonna be a bunch of heavy hitters in that division.
The big three obviously the Padres, Dodgers, Diamondbacks. The Giants
could could maybe make some noise, but they're not going
to do anything significant in that division. And the Rockies
might be the worst team in baseball. But the top
three is a legit top three. So I'm saying this

(13:22):
right now. The Dodgers are going to win the division.
But if they wouldn't, it's going to be the Diamondbacks.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
We'll see what happens with Corbyn Carroll. He had a
terrible season last year, and of course we know what
he's capable of. They do have a good lineup, you know,
Like it's hard for me to sit here and say
that I don't like the Diamondbacks. I do. I think
the Diamondbacks have shown us. And of course they went
out there and got Corbon Burns, which is a huge deal.

(13:50):
I felt like Baltimore Orioles, if they were serious, should
have held on to him. But now you got him, Gallon,
Kelly Rodriguez and Brandon Fat pretty good starting rotation right there.
So I'm no, I'm not arguing one bit. And as
far as the standpoint of laying the number or getting
the odds that you're getting, as far as those futures

(14:13):
are concerned, and again that was plus six hundred, Yeah,
I don't have any issues. But I'm on the flip side.
I'm about winning, and I'm gonna give the minus five
hundred for the LA Dodgers. They're not losing that division.
They're not losing. I just took out, just took out
a nice loan, and I am putting it all on
the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Could what could possibly go wrong?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
The division? Ridiculous? All right, let's get on over into
the wildcard world. And who are your three uh wildcards?

Speaker 1 (14:46):
So obviously my division winners the Phillies, Brewers and the
Dodgers as my realistic winner of the n West, my
three wildcard, the Diamondbacks, the Braves, and the Padres. I
have the Mets missing the playoffs. It's gonna be really
tight at the end. The National League.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Is just absolutely loaded this year.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
I think there's six teams in the National League that
could win the World Series this year. So it's just
a loaded league compared to the American League this year.
So my six teams one seed, Dodgers, Phillies, two seed, Brewers,
three seed, and then the three wildcard teams, I think
they'll all finish around the same. I would probably have

(15:28):
the Braves as the four seed and then the Diamondbacks
and then the Potterers. That's out first team out.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Wow, I am not in agreement with you on that,
So we will have some change here. I'm just trying
to pull up the two to make the playoffs. They
changed up their tab because these games are in an act.
Well I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
They all slash seeds tab there we go.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So I'm just trying to see
to make the playoffs and for me other it is yeah,
for me, I am a rolling with the Padres to
of course make the Division or make the playoffs out
of the West. If the Dodgers aren't careful, like for me,
for my money, I would take them over the Diamondbacks

(16:15):
to give the Dodgers a run for their money. They
were up to one in that series. They have all
sorts of firepower on offense. Pitching staff is pretty damn good.
It seems like they could be somewhat in a Dodger's brain,
just a little bit, just a little bit. So I
would say if any team that could shake things up
and win the division other than the Dodgers, it would

(16:37):
be the Padres for me, oh, by the way, at
ten to one, ten to one to win that division.
But I will just take them to make the playoffs.
On the yes, we're going with the San Diego Padres
and DraftKings sportsbook, and you're looking at a current number
plus one ten to make the playoffs. There, I do
have the Mets making the playoffs, and I do have

(16:58):
the Phillies making the playoffs. So some Phillies on the yes. Again,
you go down the list of teams and I was
starting just the Central Cardinals, Cubs or Cardinals reds Pirates.
You're just asking much there, Brewers. I could see them
getting it done and being one of those wildcard teams.
Look at the success that they had last year, Coach

(17:19):
of the Year all that, so they could continue to
build things in the right direction. But I'm gonna change
things up. I'm gonna say our wild card is in
that National League Central this year. But it comes back
to the other teams and the Diamondbacks. Look, they showed
that they had what it till two years ago, but
I kind of fell you know, it didn't mean expectations
last year. So I think we're gonna see a little

(17:41):
bit more of that. We'll see what happens. One man's
take here, I'm gonna bet against the Diamondbacks making the
playoffs and instead I'm gonna go heavy on the NL East.
And it comes back to the Mets. For me, I
know a lot has to go right, but I still
believe that there will be a lot of runs scored
by that offense one through five that is a disgusting
one through five if they can get it going, and

(18:03):
Vantos lives up to the hype, and I think he
will so for me, for my money, I think the
Mets are gonna win plenty of games this year. Still
finished third in the division. Still finish third. But I
think the NLE East is gonna be explosive this year.
So give me the Mets, Braves, and Phillies to all
make the playoffs out of the NL East. I think
under that not much.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Now I like it. I like it all right.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Let's get out over to the American League. Let's talk
about the AL East here. Luke favorite Yankee Yankees ninety
four sixty eight last year, Oriols ninety one and seventy one.
Socks finished five hundred eighty one across the board. Jays
didn't meet the mark eighty and eighty two, and or
excuse me, the Rays rady in eighty two. Blue Jays
were seventy four and eighty four. Back over to a

(18:49):
DraftKings sports book. As far as divisions are concerned, Yankees
plus one thirty five to win this year, Orioles plus
two seventy the Red Sox plus three fifty Rays eight
to one, Blue Jay thirteen to one. Luke Arcade.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
My favorite better the entire offseason, the Boston Red Sox
to win the ALIAS plus three point fifty. Now I
got them at plus four seventy five about a month
and a half ago. I love I love this roster.
I think it's awesome. They have a really awesome lineup.
They have a sick rotation. Their opening day starter last

(19:25):
year is now their number fifth starter, so I think
they can make some serious noise. I like the Red
Sox a lot at the number it's now.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Plus three fifty.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
And the reason I'm there is just I'm I'm a
little out on the Yankees this year. I'm I look
down this lineup and I say, you have a young
catcher who is still developing, and he and he had
a really good year last year, and he's had a
really good spring training.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
And then you look.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
It's obviously Aaron Judge that is the guy in the lineup.
And then you start to go down and you look
at a guy in Bellinger, and a guy in Goldschmidt
and a guy in Chisholm, Like, what are these guys
gonna give you? Because if those three guys that I
just named don't give you all all three of them
above average seasons, they're not winning that division, especially because

(20:25):
Aaron Judge can can hit go hit sixty homers.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
But like there's going to be.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Days where Aaron Judge goes over four and there's gonna
be days where he strikes out four times in a game.
Who is going to carry the weight in this lineup
other than Aaron Judge, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
They obviously lost Garrett Cole for the year. Like it's
just this to me, has team that just made it.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
All the way to the World Series flipped to next
year and has disaster written all over it. For me,
they are and I think you can say this about
a lot of teams. They're an Aaron Judge injury away
from being a bottom ten lineup in baseball. So I
love the Red Sox. I'm just not as high on

(21:10):
the Yankees this year. The Yankees are at plus one
thirty five. The Orioles just didn't get better. They lost
Corbyn Burns and they lost Anthony Santandre and they didn't
do anything to like make your head turn. That's a
team that I think can probably finish third in that division.
And I love the Orioles last year. I actually had

(21:32):
the Orioles go all the way to the World Series
last year. They were awesome regular season team. They just
lost it in the playoffs and then they sat on
their hands and they didn't spend money this offseason. So
I'm gonna back the team that spent this offseason and
has the best roster in the American League East. They
might have the best roster in the entire American League.

(21:55):
So the Boston Red Sox at plus three point fifty, now.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
To everybody, I'm right there with you. That's why I
have it as well, Socks plus three point fifty. Again,
you look at what they did. You look at what
the Braves did last year. Like you know, it's it's
a little different ballgame just from the standpoint of the
Braves ended up winning eighty nine games versus what the
Socks ended up doing. But both of them had legit
like nightmarish seasons and still were able to produce and

(22:22):
at least have you somewhat believe And of course Braves
are in a different stratosphere than what the Red Sox
have shown us. But I know it's a trendy pick.
I know a lot of people out there are pitching,
you know, Garrett Crochet, as far as al Cy Young,
you know. But with the addition of Bregman, you got Devers,
that lineup is ready to go. I just think Boston

(22:43):
is to play here and I would be shocked if
this isn't a great season and they're not playing in
the postseason this year, so hopefully they can get there
by winning the division in a nice plus three to
fifty number. It's our first one that we agree on
about that, all right, next one up, let's talk about
the America League Central, where the Guardians went on to
win last year ninety two and sixty nine. Royals ended

(23:07):
up tying the Tigers at eighty six and seventy six
after it was all said and done. The Twins, who
dealt with the boatload of injuries down the stretch, ended
up finishing eighty two and eighty and the Chicago White
Sox forty one and one twenty one.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
It's a crazy number, isn't it. Yeah? It blows my
mind every single time I look at it. Wow, bizarre.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
That is wild forty one wins by the Chicago White
Sox last year. Over to DraftKings sports Book eight EL
Central odds Minnesota Twins plus two ten Royals plus two
seventy the Tigers plus two seventy the Guardians three to
one White Sox two fifty to one to win the division.
Are you buying into what the Tigers showed us last

(23:54):
year one hit wonders. Are you back on the Guardians train?
You're feeling the Royals here?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Where I'm on the Royals. I'm on the Royals plus
two seventy. I I've been trying to figure out all
off season why the Twins are favored to win this division,
and I just can't figure it out.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
I love the Royals rotation.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
That it's it's it's really really good, and I think
this is the year and I think we'll get there eventually.
But my my eventual al m VP pick. I think
this is an unbelievable season for Bobby Witt. I think
this is a year to do it, and I think
if he does it, I think the Royals can can

(24:37):
win this division. The Guardians didn't do a ton, the
Twins didn't really do much at all, and the Royals
didn't do a ton either. But it just feels like
this is a team that has a nice little core
there that's just going to continue to get better and better.
So I like the Royals plus two seventy. This one's
just another toss up. This to me is is like

(24:59):
the NL Central. Both of these divisions are very toss up, like,
but I like the Royals here plus seventy.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yeah, I could see the Royals. I can get down
with that. I took the Twins last year and they
just have too many aging stars. Buckston. He gets hurt every.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Year, like who's who is their star? Like that that
that that that's my problem is that a guy in
with like a seven fifty oh ps and k like,
they just don't have a guy.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Like that's the thing, Like you need a guy on
your team.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
No, Kara, he only played eighty six games last year
in Buxton. He missed his time every single year. But
I he is the guy, but you can't count on him.
What do you play one hundred and one oh two
last year out of one sixty two? Yeah, he can't
have that. So I'm gonna pass on that and I'm
gonna go Tito, give me the Guardians. You go Royals,

(25:53):
I'll go Guardians. I just feel like, look when Tito,
and first of all, that division is just tough for me.
It's tough for me every single year. I picked the Twins.
Last year, it didn't work out for me. Guardians for
the play, But you know, I do look at and
Tito's no longer there, that's right. Who else? Who the

(26:13):
hell is the manager? Is the Guardians right now?

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Good grease, that's a good question. Who is it? Oh? Vote?

Speaker 2 (26:22):
There you go, yeah, vote it's interesting. All right, Well,
it doesn't change my pick. I'm gonna go with the Guardians.
I just think that they're going to win the division again.
It's a toss up. I can see people making the
case for the Royals. It's a trendy pick. Bobby with
junior people are saying is the top three player in
the game, could very well make the case for some people.
I've seen him say he's the best player in the game.

(26:42):
You just wax poetic about him as well. The White Sox.
We don't have to discuss Tigers. Come on, man, that
was the White Sox here, Shauna two fifty. There you go,
take a shot. So it's between the Twins and the
Guardians for me, and I picked the Twins last year,
so we'll just go with the Guardians this year at

(27:04):
plus three hundred for Cleveland plus three hundred, and you
went with the Royals of plus two sales. Yeah, as
I'm jotting this down, all right, last one up division
winners here Al West Houston Astros. They back in business here.
They're plus one twenty five Rangers plus two twenty five.
I just saw the Rangers announced both of those kids

(27:26):
from Vandy years ago was a Kamar and Elite Lighters
Sun are now in the starting Yeah. Rocker, yeah, Rocker.
There you are now in the starting rotation, with Brum
eventually being in the starting rotation. If I'm not mistaken,
he's not gonna be ready upright from jump. I don't
believe at least thirty six years old. That's a pretty

(27:47):
damn old actual.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
He has the most wild Hall of Fame case of
all time. I think he might.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
I think he might have the craziest Hall of Fame
case in all of sports because he's he.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
He is twenty two.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah, but when if you if you take his career
stats and you throw away games, and you look at
stats that don't require a certain amount of innings pitch,
he's probably a top five pitcher in the history of baseball.
But he just doesn't have enough games. It's it's a
bizarre case.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Sorry.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
With that note of adding those guys to the rotation,
I have the Rangers plus two twenty five.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
I liked their offseason a lot.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
I thought last year they obviously won the World Series
twenty twenty three, had a down year last year. I
think they're lineup's awesome. I love Corey Seeger. I think
Wyatt Langford's gonna be awesome. He is going to win
a American League MVP at some point in his career.

(28:44):
He is an incredible player. I just think this lineup's fun.
They have a lot of pop, They have a nice rotation.
I'm gonna roll with the Rangers here at plus two
twenty five right now.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Don't hate it again. You could just go ahead and
get rid of the A's. You can get rid of
the Angels, you can get rid of the Mariners. They
don't really ever produce for me. So this is a
two horse race between the Rangers and the Astros for
my money, and I'm gonna go with the Astros. I
know everybody's betting on them. It's over. It's done. Mark
Hevery Junior slowed me down a couple of weeks ago

(29:18):
when I was saying, isn't it done for the Houston Astros.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
It's not.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
It's not. That is a franchise that knows what it
takes to win of course, we know that they have
lost players with Tucker and Bregman out, but they got
some good replacements coming up to the farm. Again, you
still got al Tuv out there, and you know that
you're gonna get some major production from Alvarez as far

(29:41):
as offense is concerned. You know, I do look at
the pitching rotation. You gotta be wondering about that. But
at the end, I'm gonna ride with the Houston ass
to win the West. And again last year we didn't
hit this. Astros ended up winning division at eighty eight
and seventy three, Mariners eighty five and seventy seven, a
little bit closer to what I remember, Rangers seventy eight

(30:03):
and eighty four, A sixty nine wins, Angels sixty three
wins there, So again those are our division winners. Let's
get to our predictions for the Wildcard coming out of
the AL.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
I like the Yankees. I guess I like the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
I like Detroit again, and that last spot for me
is kind of a toss up between the Ashers and
the Guardians.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
I'll go Aschers just because they're the Ashers. So I have.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yankees, Tigers, Ashers, Wildcard and Divisions, Red Sox, Royals, Rangers.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
All right, I am definitely gonna have the Yankees in there.
I'm going to have the Orioles in there as well.
Those are my two locks. And then just throwing something
up for grabs as far as a wildcard play for
twenty twenty four or twenty twenty five, twenty six here,
let's go with the Kansas City Royals. Ride your train

(31:00):
on that front again. Have the firepower as far as
the offense is concern pitching. We'll see what happens though,
with a team like that having some expectations, can they
live up to that hype? All right, now, let's get
on over to the awards. Let's talk about the MVP
from the American League.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
First American League MVP for me, I have Bobby Witt.
I think he's at plus four point fifty. I just
I don't know, and I get it. It's you don't.
It's hard for me to just continue to bet the
same favorites every year because it just gets a little
boring for me. And granted, I probably should just stay

(31:40):
boring because then you win money off of Aaron Judges
and show here TONI.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
But I'm gonna take Bobby Witt.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
I will say, if you're looking for one that I
really liked, it's over like a plus fifteen hundred range.
I would look at Vla Guerrera Junior at plus seventeen hundred.
I think this is one of him heading into a
contract year, really one some some hefty money next year.
That that's one that probably won't win. But if you

(32:06):
want one on some higher odds, that maybe be one.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
That I would look at.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
The only issue is, yeah, if he gets traded, he's
gonna have to deal with the ton you know, of
change and you're just asking a whole lot. He's gonna
have to be dealing with that all season. Again, I
don't hate it. I was looking at the Blue Jays
to to shake things up in that division. But so
we'll see what happens. As far as with him being
dealt it seems like that that's going to be the

(32:30):
case because I don't again, are they going to keep
him throughout the course of this season, And it depends
what they're doing as far as win loss is concerned.
But if three are struggle and he's getting shipped out,
he is gone.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
All right.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
For my money, I'm gonna go with the Boston Red
Sox and the man made a big old stink earlier,
Raphael Devers, that's my guy, twenty five to one a
l MVP. We're taking a shot, obviously, with the Red
Sox and everything that they have going on. Again, you
got judge of plus three ten, Bobby with a plus
four fifty. You're down at sixty one Gunner Anderson plus

(33:05):
seven to fifty. Ramirez was a guy that I was
eyeing up Corey Seger at sixteen to one, but Rafael
Devers at twenty five to one. I do think that
the Red Sox are gonna be the tok of the
American League, and therefore he's gonna be a big time
catalyst for that offense. So give me Devers and you
are going with Bobby with at plus four fifty. All

(33:26):
right over to the National League. Let's go who you got.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
I'm going Bryce, I am, I am, I'm taking Bryce.
Show Airtani's not fun to bet for mvpay and I
get it. If you want to just double your money,
then that's fine because he's just gonna win it again.
So we can sit here and talk about all this,
and Showy's probably just gonna win it again. I'm gonna
take Bryce because if I'm not gonna take the guy

(33:49):
that's gonna win it every year, I'm gonna I want
the guy that I'm gonna watch every single game and
my favorite baseball player in the entire league. I think
it's another big year for Bryce. I think it's just
I think Bryce is just.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Coming into this year extremely pissed off.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Like I think he's so over everything, and the window
is closed and this and that, and Phillies are the
third best team in the division and all this stuff.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
I think it's a big year for Bryce. So yes,
I get it.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Show here Toni's probably gonna win it at plus one seventy.
I'm surprised the books don't have him in like the
minus one fifty range by now. But I'm gonna go
Bryce fourteen to one.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
It's a toss up between Ellie de la Cruz and
Matt Olsen for me. De la Cruz at fifteen to
one awesome numbers last year and again he you know,
struggle with the Reds, but you look at the stolen bases,
I think home runs are gonna go up. I think DAILYA.
Cruz could be the talk of baseball he could be
like that focal point, you know, for the freak stuff

(34:53):
that he's doing on a daily basis out there. But
at fifteen to one, Matt Olson in that lineup, I
don't see him taking a step back. I still contin
still believe in that he's gonna continue to pound, he'll produce,
the Braves are going to win the division. So again,
it kind of ties in with the success there. Give me,
you know what for SMG's here, No, I can't back.

(35:15):
If I have to give one, I'm going daily cruise
at fifteen to one. Fifteen to one is my daily cruise.
Pick on that one, all right, So those are my MVPs.
Those are MVPs, say Young Award, let's talk some pitching.
Who you got?

Speaker 1 (35:28):
This one's so fun. I took Wheels, Homer, I know.
I took Wheels another one that I do like. And
I locked this in about a month and a half
ago when I saw it, and I was like, I
don't care when he's coming back.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
This is crazy odds. I took Spencer Stryder.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
I think I got I think I got him at
forty to one and he's now down to twenty two
to one. It really just depends how many games he pitches,
but I don't care if he pitches fifteen starts. If
you throw Spencer Strider forty to one in my face,
I'm gonna take it.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
So I have Wheeler and Strider.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
But it does just feel like this is gonna be
the year of Skins, probably, but I like Wheeler.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
I believe he's plus seven fifty right now.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
So yeah, Skeens Skeens is three to one, Zach Wheeler
plus seven fifty, Chris Sale eight to one, Blake Snell
ten to one, Corpen Merns twelve to one, Dylan Ces
sixty to one, Tyler Glass now seventeen to one, and
then Spencer Streider, who is my pick as well at
twenty two to one. Give me Spencer Streider. You know what,
when these guys come back from injury, their stuff seems

(36:40):
to get better. That's gonna be out of his mind,
I think. And we know how good he is and
what he's capable of, and how he GE's just so nasty.
So twenty two to one, I wish I had a
forty to one ticket. Nice worked by you on that one,
But twenty two to one, as far as that is concerned,
I'm gonna ride with that one a lot of my.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Ticket on Christopher Sanchez. It is a hefty number.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
I cannot remember what it was off the top of
my head, but I took it like three days after
it came out for fun.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
It's a big, big number.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
You've been listening to a lot of Phillies podcasts, haven't you?

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Yeah, I have, I have it.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Come on, Christopher san says, really like tiny tiny, I'm
not I'm not telling anyone to bet it.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
I'm just telling you what.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
I bet one sixty two. And Christopher Sanchez is going
to be standing there after it's all said and done,
and he's going to be the cy Young Award winner.
I hope, I hope.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
That you're won't be.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
He won't be, but he's a top seven left handed
pitcher in baseball. He's nice and he's up to ninety
eight ninety nine. Still, I'll take a flyer there.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Why not.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
I don't hate it one bit. Excellent stuff. All right, Well,
look we just went down the list. We are American.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
We got one more American.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
We did it? Do we do it?

Speaker 1 (37:56):
No?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
We didn't do it?

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Oh my fault, No, I don't know. We did we did.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
I talked about a guy that could win it, but
we never gave him out. Because I have a way,
I have apologize.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
I did take Garat Crochet plus four fifty. The only
issue with Crochet is he just has to stay healthy.
If he stays healthy, he can strike out two hundred
and seventy five batters a season. So I I do
like Crochet. I also took Gaulfman twenty five to one.
Seems like he's healthy. The Velos up from last year

(38:28):
in spring. He's always just been a really solid, like
low three z Ra Pitcher. I think he can stand
out on this Blue Jays team this year, so I
have I have him as more of a flyer. But
I like Crochet and Scoobale Crochet race. I feel like
it is going to be unbelievably fun. I like Cole
Reagan's as well. It's just three unbelievable left. He's in

(38:50):
the American League as the top three right now.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
I'm gonna be boring here, give me schoobl and this
will be the first time that we've had American League
Cy Young Award winner in good second of seasons since
Pedro Martinez and ninety nine in two thousand. Ultimately, when
you were talking about something that hasn't happened that long,
there's a reason. And then when your name is even
being discussed in those same conversations as Pedro Martinez, there's

(39:15):
a reason. Scoople is as good as advertised plus three eighty.
I'll take a fire on that. So give me.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
You know what I feel like.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Because I cashed off of him last year, I feel
like I have to probably take it again, so so
I'll ride that with you as well.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
Nice, all right, fun question to get you out of here.
Fun question, you're ready. I stumbled on this one when
I was doing something yesterday or the day before. And
you can go as far back as you want. You
can go with fan favorite. There's no right or wrong answer.
But Luke Arcadie, your ultimate starting five rotation is so

(39:52):
of all time. Yeah, whoever you want?

Speaker 3 (39:55):
Oh, man, I will go.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
Randy Johnson, Oh you go Randy. Okay, I'll go Steve Carlton. Okay, man,
that's fun.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
I'll go Pedro. Always been a Pedro guy. I'll put
Roy Halladay in there. And mm hmm, can I take
a prime? Can I take specifically someone's prime?

Speaker 2 (40:34):
You're starting five cool.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
I'll take Prime, Prime, Jacob de Gram not wow, not hurt,
Jacob de Gram. And I know I'm forgetting a ton
of unbelievable all time pictures.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
But that's a pretty nasty starting rotation.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Who did I say, Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton, Pedro Martinez,
Roy Halladay, and Prime.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
Jacob the ground.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
Yeah, yep, that's really good. It's pretty damn good right there.
I would go Pedro, I'm going Pedro, I'm going Roger Clemens,
I'm going Nolan Ryan, I'm going Gibby, Bob Gibson, Gibby.
Give me Gibby in there for my fifth and final one. Hmmm,

(41:22):
that's a tough one. Maddox was nasty. I feel like
I gotta get somebody in there from the braves some way, somehow,
So give me Greg Maddox, Greg Maddox in there for
my starting five as well.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
It's good, pretty good, pretty good damn good rotations.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
Yeah, some pretty good rotations. We're gonna win a few
games there, all right, Luke Arcandy, great stuff as always,
for sure to follow Luke at rcady Luke all one word,
wish him happy birthday. Read them at Crossing broad Dot
