take it with you here live on a Monday Chambras
(00:21):
and Henry Junior joining the party after a great weekend
in sports for the majority of US, Mark, every Junior
is not a golf fan, so anything golf related, don't worry. Mark.
I got it off my chest. I said everything I
needed to say about the US Open and the golf
(00:44):
course and everything along those lines before the four o'clock
hour because I know where you stand. But that's all right.
I respect it. And there's plenty of other stuff to discuss,
including the fightings with a big three game sweep over
the Blue Jays back in action this evening taken on
the Marlins. Oh by the way, NBA Finals, Oh by
the way, Danley Cup Finals. You and I going ahead
to head. How you feeling two of three in Edmonton?
(01:05):
Two of three? I told you what teuping them oilers?
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, it's it's definitely uh, it definitely got my my
back and get wait, I wait, bo up three to two?
What are we talking about? You just tricked me.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Oh, well, you know, look, bottom line is you're right.
All I know is Edmonton still has an opportunity to
get the job done.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah. I feel fantastic, Sean.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
I need one of the next two games, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Tricked up? Wait to be down three two? And I'm
pretty sure we were up three too.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well. Look, it's been a great run, and what a
game that was for the Oilers to come back and
make it somewhat of a series, because I thought that
that was it. I thought that was three to one,
right if they lost that one. So, uh, the fact
that we do have somewhat of a good series at
this point time, We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
They came back out and they got their boats kicked. Yeah,
the next game. It's two of Florida.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Two of three Florida wins have been absolutely blowouts, bet
and both Oilers wins have been in overtime. I think
the Panthers are way better, but the Oilers are McDavid.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Mcjesus says, they call him. All right, let's go ahead
and move off hockey talk from and let's talk about
the Phillies here. Big time win, series win, sweep in
fact over the Blue Jays now two of three against
the Cubbies last week and five of six and things
are looking good right now. But you know, I'm curious
what the difference in your mind, what did you see
(02:32):
that was a change from this series? And of course,
as I said, the five of six versus you know,
the two weeks ago slash week last week where they
ended up losing five straight nine of ten, everybody wanted
to trade everyone. What's been the big thing that stood
out to you the most that's been different for the
Phillies is they now have righted the wrongs and are
winning games again.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Well, Causing got back on track, Wheeler was gone for
a minute there. Nick Abel had one rough start, but
now since and the biggest difference, honestly is Jesus Lozardo
went from being an elite cy Young candidate to then
having the two worst starts you know you could possibly
have back to back in the middle of that rough stretch,
(03:14):
and now he's back and it appears like his situation
was more of a pitch tipping issue than anything else,
and it seems like they got that corrected. I do
think that there's a couple guys who under the radar
have started to put it together a little bit at the.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Plate over a pretty long sample size.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Now, guys who both started really really rough to start
out the year. I'm trying to get the exact numbers
here on just how long it's been, but Alec Boom
has been pretty good.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Since April fourteenth.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
At this point, he was the worst player in baseball
from the end of March when they started the season
until April fourteenth. Since then, in a fifty four game
sample size, Alec Bohom's hitting three twenty two with an
eight thirty eight OPS. The Phillies are thirty one and
twenty three in those games seven homers for Alick Bolom's
twenty eight RBIs in that stretch. So if that's the
(04:16):
Alec Boom you're getting, I think you're feeling pretty darn
good about the offense compared to where we were at
the beginning of the year, even just a week ago,
when Bryce wasn't hitting, when Schwarmer wasn't hitting. And then
I think maybe even bigger than Bone and maybe a
bigger development than Boone because there's two spots to fill
out in the outfield with with left field and center field.
(04:39):
The way that they've been throughout the year. You were thinking,
you know, maybe they can't even do anything in the infield,
and they're pretty limited with what they are able to
do at the deadline and who they can go get
because leftfield and centerfield were both such big problems for
long stretches.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
But Brandon Marsh is starting to look like the guy
he was back in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Over the last thirty four games since May third, since
he came back up from the minors, he's hitting three
thirty three with an age fifty nine. Ops crazy, and
that's in ninety six played appearances too, So it's not
a tiny sample size, and just specifically in this kind
of five and one stretch. And what's been different in
(05:24):
this five and one stretch compared to recent the last
five games, Max Kepler is hitting the cover up the baseball.
He's got a hit in five straight. He's got two
homers in there, four RBIs. He's been fantastic over this
last little stretch. And getting a little bit of that
production from the outfield has been rare throughout this season.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah, look, Max had himself a game on Saturday right
then he hit the on Saturday or am I getting
that those games confuted?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah? I think yeah, Saturday.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah, yesterday was all about Wheeler in my opinion. Just
a great performance by Zach Wheeler on FIL's Day. How
how nice was that? So again, now they're gonta somewhat
of an easy series against the Marlins. Marlins just won
three straight against the the Nationals, and you get Sandy
Alkatara out there. Do you go al Contra or Alcantara.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I go Alcantara, all right, So I don't think we'll
have to go with it much longer because he might
be pitching his way out of the league.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Out of the league. Is any gonna get traded?
Speaker 2 (06:29):
He's got a seven something era right now? Yeah, I mean,
maybe he gets it right right it, gets it back together.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
He'll get a chance somewhere else, even next year probably,
or I'm sure they'll trade.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Him at some point soon. But Sandy is I think
on the wrong side of it here.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
He's twenty nine, but he's had some marm injuries and
he's I don't think.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
He'll ever be close to what we saw there a
couple of years ago. What year, what twenty twenty two? Yeah,
two to eight e rd.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
He had a four year run, five year of play
pitching really well, but four one four ERA last year
and now here we are at a seven seven to
one four over thirteen starts too, so it's not like
it's been just a couple of starts. My favorite bet
of the night tonight is the Phills. I love the
Phills money line. I think able. I think he I
(07:20):
don't even think last start was that concerning. I thought
he fought his way out of some jams and showed
some some stones and some big spots, even though he
didn't have his best stuff. Bullpen isn't that taxed compared
to you know, they just had a couple of blowouts,
didn't have to use everybody out of the pens. So
I feel pretty good about the Phills. I actually grabbing
(07:41):
them at a bad number. I got them earlier this
morning minus moving forwarm saying the minus one.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Oh eight.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Out there find So I think that's a crazy, crazy number.
I think the Phill should be minus one sixty minus
seventy in this team against a long team.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
I really don't get this line.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, we were talking about that a little early with
Luke Arcaney. He said it was a very disrespectful number
in his mind, and I'm right, I agree, Yeah, minus
one thirteen at this point time with drafting sportsbook, so
hop on that. Let's talk a little about mckable there,
and let's focus on him for just a second. Five
strikeouts tonight minus one fifteen. Uh, you're looking at over
four and a half at minus one fifteen. There anything
(08:20):
for you on Mick Able this evening? What do you
want to see as just a fan in general? And
then of course from the betting perspective, anything there.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
The Mickabel stuff is just staying ahead accounts, not not
walking guys. He really did a good job his first
couple outings at doing that, and then last outing he
had some issues with it.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
But I feel really good. I love the Able stuff.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
He throws hard, has really good breaking breaking stuff. I
think this is a great matchup for Mickabel against the
Marlins offense that doesn't strike a lot of fear into you.
They've got two guys, you know with a pot positive ops.
I'd say, really at the bottom of the lineup, sitting
(09:05):
three thirty three, he's probably a little bit better than
I'm giving him credit for.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
But this offense, I don't know how many of these
guys the average MLB or average how many people were
at Citizens Bank Park forty five thousand.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I guess this game is in Miami, so it'll be
like eight thousand people. But when the Marlins come and
play in Philly and there's forty five thousand Phillies fans there,
I think the over under is like two and a half.
On Marlin's offensive players that at least half the park knows,
it's probably like Jezus Sanchez and Xavier Edwards and maybe
(09:38):
you know Connor Norby was a big prospect at one point.
The Marlins offense is brutal. I again, I think this
is a crazy, crazy distract for Line.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I'd like to see five or.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Six innings out of able, just to lessen the lesson
the bullpen.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Last time he only went four and they could have
sent him back out there for a fifth.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
I think he was at eighty pitchers or something like that,
but they went to the bullpen. I'd like to see
him get through five, get through six, all right.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Mark Hevery Junior does a great job hosting on the
Tough Cover radio show every Saturday. When he hops on
the Daily Ticket, we hop on the Sports Carousel, where
we like to go around the world of sports. We
hit on a little everything, and I love it because
Mark is a very in tune with a lot of
sports in general. Let's put it that way. Let's talk
a little bit about this trade that took place, and
(10:24):
again this is over to the Phillies as well, because
I'm curious whether or not they can make a move
like a Rafael Devers, like a Rafael Devers before July thirty. First,
I know it's very unlikely, but this was a move
that shocked a lot of people, and I'm curious to
know why you think that was. We spoke about Devers
earlier this year in spring training, and you were very,
(10:47):
very high on him. So when this move went down,
what was your immediate reaction? What are you saying right now?
And on top of it, like I said, this Phillies
team is damn good when they play their A plus base, Well,
that's great, But man, I watched the Dodgers. They got
this kid out in center field right now. I didn't
know who the hell he was. He it's a home
run yesterday. Like that lineup is just berserk, and all
(11:09):
they're doing is they're gonna add show. Hey, they're gonna
add the other Japanese pitcher that was heard, I believe
or no, yeah, on the like they're just they're going
they got an embarrassment of riches the players that they
have in their lineup that take the field for Mookie bets, right,
you get the list goes on like that's the bar.
So yeah, if the Phillies can make a move for
(11:31):
somebody that's going to make all of the timeline for
Major League Baseball followers. That are people that I follow
and go wow, like, that's a great move for the Giants.
I would like the Phillies to be in that conversation
as well. Your thoughts on the Devas trade though, let's
start there.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah, so too.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I'll do the devastrate first Devs. This is an abomination.
This is an atrocity on the day that the same
day that Liverpool went out and spent one hundred and
fifty million dollars on a player, the same day that
they traded Devers.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
And let's not mince words, this was a contract dump.
This was a salary dump to the San Francisco Giants
and all the Harvard gms and the IVY League GMS
out there. Oh, that's too big of a contract. I
can't push my pencils and get this paid for. However
much Devers has this for eight years. Buster Posey out
in San Francisco is able to look at that and go,
(12:25):
how about devas the top fifteen hitter in the game,
Let's bring him over here. Who cares if he doesn't
want to play third first, which, by the way, he
came out and said he'll DH, he'll play first, He'll
do whatever helps to help the team win.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
I think it shows that there was some communication problems
there in Boston. Him and Craig Bresla never saw eye
to eye. But for the red side and the biggest
part of this, if they were gonna do this, they
should have done this when there was controversy in March
or in April, when all this was going down and
he was saying he didn't want to help out the
team and didn't want a DH and YadA, YadA, YadA.
(12:58):
You should have done this. Then you should have traded
him for nothing. If you're gonna trade him for nothing,
then and then you at least have these exciting prospects
you can bring up Marcela Meyer. You can bring up
Rome and Anthony, you can get the fans invested in
something like that.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
But now you brought those guys up. You gave the
fans a taste of what this team could be like
with Devs and with some of the older pieces, with
the Marcela Mayer, with Roman Anthony and guess what, they
were unbelievable. They won six or seven games. They swept
the Yanks. The Yankles had their worst.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
The Yanks said, scored four runs in Fenway and three games.
They haven't done that in our three game Red Sox
series in one hundred and three years, where they've scored
four or less runs. The pitching, which had been a
problem all year long, finally stepped up while the hitting
was also stepping up, and Devors.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Have been fantastic over these last couple of days. The
timing and the public relations of this makes no sense whatsoever.
I can't even wrap my head around this. And most
of the time, like we we like.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
To Philly, everything we make it about us and and
how would we feel about this if this happened in Philly.
Most of the time when that happens, we're talking about
the Kansas City Royals or the Seattle Mariners or the
Miami Marlins.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
They're a small market team that we can't pay them,
so we might as well get some prospects and trade
these guys right now. This is the Boston Red Sox.
You own Thatsson, like you basically own the television channel. Like.
It makes no sense to me that the Red Sox
are operating like the Tampa Bay Rays, like they have
(14:34):
no money to go out and spend. You're the Red Sox.
Go out and sell a couple other you know, jerseys
and hats at Fenway. You'll make up the money. It
is unfathomable to me that they would that this is
this just happened in a major media market. This is
Baseball's Luka Doncic.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Like.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
They got less comparatively for Devors. They got less than
the Lakers got for Luca, I'd say, because at least
Anthony Davis is a really good player. Jordan Hicks should
be a reliever. The guy's a six y ra as
a starter. He's getting paid a lot of money to
do that terrible production.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Kyle Harrison's a guy I've never gotten it with. I've
never understood the vision with him. Giants fans liked him
at one time. He's kind of went down the drain,
and guess what, he's.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
The centerpiece their biggest name in this deal that they got.
They sent him down the Triple A. So so much
for loving Kyle Harrison.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
If you're the Boston Red Sox and you've got a
struggling rotation, send him down a triple A. They supposedly
got the number four prospect in the Giants organization. I
think he's a third baseman, but I can't speak too
much to him, but that's not a big enough return.
I don't even know if he was in the top
one hundred of Baseball America's prospects. So I just don't
(15:46):
there's no rationalizing this move.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
I can't wrap my head around it.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Well said man. I think a lot of people are
in agreement with you, and especially Red Sox Nation as
they affectually call themselves. I don't know if they'll do,
but that's what they were all those years ago. Cowboy
up Mark camera Junior dating myself there.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
I feel bad.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
I just watched that the comeback documentary on Netflix on the.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Have you watched Titan? Have you watched Titan yet?
Speaker 2 (16:12):
What's tight?
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Titans? That that thing that went down by.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, Ocean Gate. Yeah, fantastic, so good.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Yeah, that's what I was.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
I was captivated by that live when that was happening,
as we all were.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah, you know what, because they disappeared and it was
I just assumed that they were dead.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
I'm like, me too, me too. But I was.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
I was interested in like the search of finding it
and how close it was. I remember there was people
at the time who thought, like what if this thing
crash landed into the Titanic and like disrupted this like
this historic thing. Yeah, but yeah, but that was a crazy,
crazy documentary. But the Red Sox fans, I feel terrible
for him. Like they have been playing mostly irrelevant baseball since.
(16:54):
And they had an incredible period from like two thousand
and four to twenty eighteen team whenever that last Alcs
run was, they were the most relevant team in baseball
for fifteen years there and since then, in the last
five years, they've been completely irrelevant for one of the
major media market teams.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
All right, Mark, back over to the Phillies. As you said,
we always bring it to us, and it's funny. I
thought you're spot on with your take there because it
is normally those teams that are at the bottom of
the basement or teams that we know can't be paying
the money the Red Sox are are definitely not that,
and least in my opinion. But two parts. One, will
the Phillies end up making a move that's somewhat registers?
(17:35):
Do they need to? In your mind? Again, trade deadline
weighs away July to thirty first, But in the big
picture major League Baseball speaking to the trade deadline, is
this the trade of the deadline? Will we see something
bigger than this? In your mind?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
I don't think so. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
I think Devers will probably be the best player traded
there were Probably there will be much bigger packages given
up for guys who are worse than Deavors, but that'll
have to do with team control and salary and things
like that, so.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
It's a little bit different. I will say, the hot
stove used to mean something, you know what I mean,
like when I was growing up baseball tonight.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Then like all that stuff, the hot stove, the reports
from Peter Gammon's early zooms going into the program talking about.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
The Yeah, everything gets watered down, Mark because now hot
stove is in December and it's like hot Stove all
the way up to February now and hot stove, Like
you said, you know, the trade deadline used to mean something.
Do you be checking in the updates? They'd have that
program on ESPN. I'm sure that they still do, but
(18:48):
it's definitely a different time, a different day and age,
as they say.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
I remember, Jason Bay was a big one.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
I remember there was a whole summer where we spent
an entire summer talking Jason Bay is the affilly. I
think the Mets trade. The Mets ended up for him,
but yeah, that there was.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
There's always fun. Royo's wall was a big one when
we traded for him. I remember that whole summer being
trade obviously. Yeah, that that stuff. I just remember for
weeks checking on, checking on uh, you know, Peter Gammons
and uh, I'm forgetting the one name the guy used
to follow Bonds around. H rest in peace, Yeah, rest
(19:30):
in peace, those guys.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
I just remember checking on those guys and on baseball
tonight and being so invested day to day on what
I would hear about these guys.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Now it feels like trades just pop up.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Trades just happened, and it's like, oh, okay, I guess
I didn't know he was.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
You know, being I didn't know he was on the market.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
And it's crazy how how much how watered down the
trade deadline feels now what I would say to you,
and to go back to your Dodgers point, you can't
compare us to that. You can't compare anything to the Dodgers,
And I.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Know, or you have to beat them. I think you
have to just feel like you are better than everybody
else and that gives you the chance. You know, you're
there and it's a five game series or it's a
seven game series, and you just have to hope, like
I even think even healthy, we might have a chance
to have a better rotation than them, oh even ever
really healthy.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
So the hope is just you know, the rotation goes
out there and balls, bullpen holds up at the top,
and maybe you add a couple of pieces. I will
tell you this, I don't really want to trade the
big pieces out of the out of the miners. I
know that it's the time to it's the time to
invest and you know, go all in with this team.
I think that was probably even more so last year
(20:41):
for me than this team, A lot of aging guys
on this team.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
The contract, a lot of contracts coming up.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
You know, what's gonna happen with JT, What's gonna happen
with Kyle, What's gonna happen with Alec? What's gonna happen
with Ranger? Zach Wheeler is retiring after twenty twenty seven.
There's there's so many of these names that are either
coming up off the books, so we're gonna continue to
get older.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
I don't think you can.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Get rid of Aden Miller and Andrew Paynter and Mick
Abel and a ruined Escobar and Justin Crawford. Like think
you need to hold on to as many of those
guys as possible to hope that there is a next
era or even a bridging of the gap like we've
seen the Red Sox and so many other teams, Like
like I just mentioned from four to twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
they rarely had a bad year because they were able
(21:25):
to bridge those Manny Ortiz years to Dustin Pedroia and
Mookie and Xander Bogart's years and kind of it's two timelines,
like what the Warriors tried to do a couple of
years ago. But I think that's the goal. The goal
is that this Bryce Trey, Schwerber, Wheeler, Nola run leads
into a you know, Abel and Painter and Escobar and
(21:48):
Crawford and Miller and hopefully some of the younger guys
on this team right now, and that's kind of the
next era and we don't have to have a rebuilding
gap in between. I'm at the point right now where
I don't think that there's anything I've heard, any name
I've heard floated out there where I'm like, you know what.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Give it, give up, all the pieces go all in.
Every name you hear is like, oh.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Well that doesn't fit perfectly because of that reason, or yeah,
well they can't really hit lefties, or oh well, you
know where's Brent Rooker gonna play? Like oh well, that
team's probably too good to want to trade that player.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Like every player I've heard come up, there's a flaw there,
and it's usually not going to be a perfect fit.
If there was a perfect fit out there to slot
right into center field or left field and feel good
about them, maybe a right handed power bat, I'm in,
but I don't know if that's I don't know if
that's out.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
There, and I think it's again a great take because
you're gonna have to give up something to get something
in return, right, Although like the Deverst deal though, man,
they didn't give up anything that's going on. Why could
we get a piece of that?
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I think we didn't want to take. We didn't what's
what's I don't know what is remaining? Years ago?
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Oh god, it was crazy money. Yeah it was.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
It's a lot of money.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
But that's what it is, and that's why that deal
is what it was because sant Fran was willing to
take all the money in Boston.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Wasn't gonna have to pay a cent?
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Yeah, because I'm looking at an article from MLB dot
com a very expensive designated hitter. It says, if devers
current production, the thirty one point thirty five million he's
getting paid is well worth it. But will it be
well worth it in two thousand and thirty three when
he's well into his thirties. So you know, these are
the conversations that, of course you have to have yourself.
(23:34):
But again, you got a Giants team that does compete
with the LA Dodgers, you know, in that division, that rivalry,
so maybe a little something, and I tip my cap
to Buster Posey And at the end of the day,
he won that deal. He won that deal by get
endeavors in there. So far, we'll see how it plays out,
all right, Mark? Yeah, Mark, hevery junior here. Of course,
Philly's take it on the Marlins and a big series
(23:56):
coming up this weekend. Mark, got the Mets coming in
and right now, just looking at some division numbers, plus
one thirty for the Phillies to win the division. How
are you feeling about that number right now?
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Pause? That number is not higher, to be honest, what's
the gap right now? Two and a half and a half.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
Yeah, I guess it's just so early, and you know
you have two I think they have another series with
the Mets coming up pretty.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Pretty quickly after this weekend too. I think they might
play them again pretty pretty quickly after so so many
games left. Have we only played them once? I believe? Yeah?
One series?
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah, probably have three, four more series. I guess four
more series left against that team. That's why that number
so low. I certainly wouldn't wouldn't be taking it.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
All right, staying in baseball for right now, let's talk
about show Show Hey, o Tani returning to the mound?
Anything catching your attention in that When Tansey was texting
the group chat, thought he had a pretty good take
as far as the expectation how long he will be going.
We were looking at the strikeout prop anything. You are,
like just a baseball fan? Does that excite you? Are
you tuning in? Do you want to see show hand
the mounta tonight?
Speaker 2 (25:04):
It'll be during the finals, so probably not.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
But uh I, I have a complicated relationship with Showy.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
I'm a little mad that he's ruined the MVP Award.
Like it's just you know, now that he's pitched the
MVP Awards now over just handed handed over to him.
It's it's done with. But that's a whole, that's a
that's a minus.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
One fifty eight tonight versus Dylan sees in the San
Diego Padres Wich.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
By the way, some are saying the best rivalry in
baseball right now, Mmm.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I'd still say it's Yankees Red Sox, Like I felt
like the juice of this weekend.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Even even though that rivalry has lost so much juice
it's hard to even put into words.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
It's still so it's Ohio State Michigan.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
You know, Duke, it's I mean, this weekend got got
it going before the tever straight Like I saw the
Yankees and Red Sox fans going at it on the
timeline and oh, the sweek doesn't matter, and then immediately
you trade that and ruin it for your fan base.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
But the thing I always say with like first starts
back with guys, I generally fade. I generally like, if
if I was gonna bet something here, it probably would
be the Padres. I what's the what's the line on
the Padres to make the playoffs right now? Sean Brace,
I saw it was like it was plus money pretty recently.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
It's a good team, man, it's a good team. Good sticks.
I like the Padres and I watched them last week
against the Dodgers. It was a great series.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
This was This was I think like nine days ago,
this was Saturday, not two days ago. But my radio
show before that, I think I brought up that the
Phillies were still minus seven hundred to make the playoffs
at that point, and then I think by like two
days later that it went down to like minus three hundred.
But at the same time, the Padres were like plus
one twenty while they were like a game back of
(26:53):
the Phillies. And I get it, the Dodgers are in
that in that division, so you know that the way
for the Padres to make the playoffs is going to
be through the wild card.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
But I'm minus won twenty right now for the Padres,
minus one seventy for the Giants on the yes both
on the yes on the no even money for the
Padres to miss the playoffs and the San Francisco Giants
to miss the playoffs plus one forty.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Yeah, and maybe this is the wrong time for this
because obviously the Giants just picked up Devers. I still
think the Padres are like the fourth or fifth best
team in the NL. I think they're really good roster,
really loaded pitching staff. I think they're going to be
in October minus one twenty. I don't know if it's worth,
you know, sinking your money down for a four month
(27:39):
future on minus one twenty, but I do think they're
in the playoffs. And I think it's.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Shocking, shocking that the Phillies today are minus six fifty
to make the playoffs while the Padres are minus one twenty.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Do we feel like the Phillies are that much better
than the Padres right now two and a half games better.
But I think they are better. But I'm not like
that's sure that we're gonna make it in then they're.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Not, I guess.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
But San Diego is a team that interests me in general.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
All right, once again, O Tony on the mound of
this evening and you could stream it for free at
MLBtv at dot com, And we were talking about the
strikeout number again. I don't expect him to go too far.
I think forty five fifty pitches is what the expectation was.
One and a half on the strikeouts. I think that's
worth a little sprinkle. That dude is a hell of
a pitcher. If he and he's taking them ount you
(28:28):
know he's gonna be one. You know, they're not putting
him out there unless he's got it. So again, he's
gonna be on the pitch count. I would imagine the
adrenaline is gonna be pumping. So give me a show, Hey,
Otani on the over on the strikeouts, why not have
some fun with that? All right?
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Like you said, over a half of a walk, it
was a good man.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
I don't mind that it's control you know, yeah, maybe
the roll's not fully there.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
The command walk this way, baby wish I had some
run DMC queued up. All right, let's keep it moving here.
Let's talk about some NBA Finals and it's a best
the three and the Oklahoma City with two games at home.
That the kicking the pills is the fact that the
Pacers ended up loing. I'm right on that one, right,
I screwed up the Stanley Cup. I want to make sure, yeah, right, yeah, yes.
(29:12):
Saturday was a tough day for me. All right. It
was a tough day for me and am not in
a good way, not in a good way. I was.
I had probably one of the worst days that like
easily in the last five years of my life on Saturday.
And it was so unfortunate because it was Beef's Day,
beef upfront tailgate and your boy ended up leaving a
(29:34):
bag full of cords and wires and drove down. Oh yeah,
and I drove down. It's it's embarrassing even putting this
out here, but it is what it is. It's reality.
We all make mistakes. I ended up leaving the bag
with all the cords and and my all my DJ
and essentials and I can't I get down there to
(29:54):
the link. It's rain and so of course we had
to move it to the kila. I come pulling and
I got the red fist up in the horn, making
a scene, pull everything out and I'm talking the feeling
in my stomach when I could not find that bag.
I never want to feel that again. It was like death,
like like like a like a puppy died in my arms.
(30:14):
That's what I felt. And Uh, I do want to
give a shout out though, because you know, sometimes you
face adversity and and you gotta you gotta pick yourself
up by the bootstraps and and just dig in. And
we got through the day and it was all because
of a couple from North Pen. I want to give
a shout out to them. Panatski. I'm murdering his last name,
(30:36):
but Matt and his wife were amazing, uh. And they
hooked us up with this little generator type deal. And
then I hit up my boy Jay Roy, who runs
Infinity Live, who I've struck up a relationship over the years.
All those great people justin the list goes on and
here I am hitting them up on game day, going,
(30:57):
can I borrow chords? And Jay Roy was in Baltimore, Maryland.
He's like, dude, I got you all good and he
was able to hook us up. We were able to
make it through. So weird, but still, man, one thing
I do is I pride myself on accountability and I
dropped the ball a big time. But we got through it. Beef,
I don't know if he remembers it, but it was
a damn good time. And here we are just making
(31:21):
it happen.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
But I hear about beef Gate and I see the
pictures and the videos and I'm man, I can't I
can't hang.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Beef was beefed up. Beef was Beef. Me and Beef
need to sit down and have a conversation and talk
a little bit about you know. Uh, you know, it's like, hey, man,
dial it up. You know, he wasn't there. He was gone.
It's his party, he was gone. I don't know. You know,
it's a good time. Let's just put it that way.
But shout out to everybody. It was a great time.
Once again, Beef up front tailgate and he's listening right now,
(31:53):
so I know he's loving that. With that being said,
let's talk about the NBA Finals. Mark Henry Jr. We
got ourselves in and a half point spread Oklahoma City
at home Pacers, demonic Indiana Pacers, and they had the
opportunity in that game four Mark, And the big thing
for me was if the Pacers would have held home
court and won that tough game. For I get it,
(32:15):
you got a desperate Oklahoma City team, but if they
were able to do that, like they had to win
one more home game after Game three, that was the
first thing that hit me. He's like, wait a minute,
the Pacers all they gotta do is win home games
and they're the NBA champions, Like that's insane. So there
it was their opportunity. Of course, SGA goes for thirty
five fifteen in the fourth quarter, starts and ends with him.
(32:35):
But now we hit the fast forward button, and I'm
not one of these guys to say, I don't know
if Indiana could recover after that. Now, bs that that
we've been talking about this team like that for a
month now plus. They can recover. But we are talking
about an Oklahoma City team now that sees it and
can taste it, and they're at home where home court
(32:55):
advantage has to have some sort of factor. Tonight, right,
But nine and a half, what do you stand on
that game and everything I just said right there?
Speaker 3 (33:03):
The spread is disrespectful, like I I'll get into me
and Sean Bernard argued a bit on Saturday after Game four,
but the spread is disrespectful. Indiana is so clearly closer
to OKC than we were willing to admit going into
the series, and that Vegas is still willing tomit. Nine
and a half is crazy. The fact that they were
(33:24):
the underdogs, that they were at home was crazy.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Even though oh my god, them not covering Game four
is a scar I will never heal from. That is
that was my.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Best bet of the day on Friday after Game two,
I had the under, which was under all the way,
and then they scored fifteen points in the last two
minutes of garbage time with a blowout and James Johnson
hits a layup with sixteen seconds left for no reason
to go over in game two.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
I've had a rough Game two.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
In game four, Game one, and game three, the Pacers wins,
I had the money line, so those were those were nice,
nice nights for me.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
But I'm betting the Pacers. I'm betting the money line.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Too, just because I think that the numbers are too crazy.
Plus three thirty three and plus nine and a half
is crazy.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
But what I will say is that they lost the
NBA Finals on Friday, and it's a shame to say that,
and I hate to say that as someone who's been
riding with the Pacers for months now at this point.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
But Sean Bernard thought that was wrong to say that,
and that it's wrong to count them out. They still
have a chance.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
I'm not saying they don't have a chance, but if
you win Game four, they would have had a seventy
seventy five percent chance to win the series, probably have
a twenty twenty five percent chance to win the series.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Now, I think your win probability of the series went
down by about fifty percent. So that's a pretty massive swing.
Whether we can say it's over, you know, whether we
can say they lost the finals.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
I think if they do lose the finals, you can
say they lost the finals that night.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
That's where on that I.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
We're in agreement on everything because I do like the
Pacers tonight point spread. They've been disrespected with these numbers.
We know what O Casey is ca well, we saw
it in Game two with the blowout, but there was
a lot that went into that game, and specifically speaking
from my eyes, trusting what I saw, the Pacers kind
of took the foot off the gas pedal defensively, and
(35:13):
that's why I ended up getting lopsided. They took game one.
I'm not gonna see her, and they say that we
don't care about Game two, but there was a lot
less of like in your face defense and perimeters and
and okay, see credit to them all. They hit all
those shots. So I wasn't surprised that that one got
out of hand tonight, Like it can't get out of hand.
Right it's nine and a half. I'm riding with the Pacers,
(35:36):
and I normally don't take a dog if I don't
think they can win. I think, okay, see ones tonight.
I respect your take. As far as money line is concerned,
plus three thirty I.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Think you can see as a better than fifty percent
chance to win the game. I just think plus you
don't get a lot of plus thirty three chances. Like
I'm trying to think, like think about it like an NFL,
like an NFL line, Like what you have to be
like an eleven twelve point dog right to be like
a plus thirty plus three fifty range, I say, Oh,
in the NFL, think about how how unlikely we feel
(36:06):
that an eleven or twelve point dog is gonna win
any given Sunday in the NFL, Like, there's not a
lot of.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Times we come on the radio being like I think
this eleven point dog is a chance to win the
game on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
It's not very rare. So think about like plus.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Thirty plus three thirty three in an NBA Finals game, Like,
and it's in it's series, it's two two, yeah, Like
it's it's just crazy to me. I'm not saying the
Pacers are gonna win the game. I'm just saying, like
I bet the Pacers money line in Game one and
game two, in Game three just because I thought the
line was too high.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
I'm doing it again here.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Wow, we just had a no hitter thrown in the
College World Series Arkansas.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
Fun fact, I flew out of Omaha the day the
College World Series started.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Wow, everybody's playing into Omaha. I'm flying out.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Were you in Omaha?
Speaker 2 (36:52):
I was in Lincoln, Lincoln?
Speaker 1 (36:54):
Actually, how far is Omaha from Lincoln?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Forty five minutes.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Oh that's cool. Damn you did you even think about
staying around going to a game at all? That's that's
a big deal.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
Man lately for me on the road. So I had
to get home to the wife and dog.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
But gotcha, I respect it.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
I'm more of the dog than the wife. But I'd
say I'd say, uh, yeah, my friends are Actually I
have a buddy who lives in Omaha, got married in
out there last year, so I've been out there before.
So I stayed with my buddy on Wednesday night.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
My other friend and his wife are going this week
to the College World Series. Like, they're flying out to
my buddy's house to stay with him and to go
to the College World Series. But just didn't want If
I was there this week and my friends were flying
in as I.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Was, maybe I would have thought about it.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
But yeah, I would definitely check out a game or
two and and hit up that bar with all those
jellow shots, and I would imagine there's not a lot
of else going on in Omaha, Nebraska. I'll love them.
Respect Home of three to eleven. Oh what you're gonna
tell me? It's a party house?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Omaha and Lincoln felt like suburbany areas. Okay, as someone
who flies all over the country, and it's now been
to more than half the states. I've been in.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Some po dunk areas, Nixon Missouri, Springfield, Missouri not great. Yeah,
North Carolina areas not my favorite. Omaha and Lincoln felt
like civilizations.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Okay, it's good to know. Well, Arkansas just hit the
third or just through through the third no hitter in
College World Series history, nineteen strikeouts against Murray State. Those
Racers were not ready to go today. I am alive.
I got a Louisville ticket. I took Louisville a week
ago and that ticket's still alive, so they actually have
(38:48):
one loss. We'll see what happens there.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
I've got to take.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
You know how, I don't like golf, and you know soccer.
College baseball is below all them. I got no interest in.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
College baseball, and I think it's a big I've talked
about this a lot before. I think it's a big
part of the reason that the MLB has ligged behind
obviously the NFL, but the NBA as well, because the
NBA has this feeder system of college basketball and the
tournament and marsh Madness, and we all get excited to
watch that, and then that feeds right into the NBA.
(39:23):
And obviously we know college football is the second biggest.
College football is bigger than the NBA.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Oh yeah, So that feeds into the NFL, and that
keeps the NFL churning, and we are aware of these
new stars. College World Series comes and it's oh Folk
contracted by the Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Guess what, You'll wait three years?
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Yeah if you see him, yeah, well you never make it.
I don't know if you watched that clip, but I
sent the clip of clip Kershaw in the dugout yesterday
where he was talking about the trade. First of all,
he knows what the hell he's talking about. Is Clint
kersher I've been running game forever. If he's got a
future in the booth, I'll tell you what, man, he
does have a future if wants to get into booth.
(40:00):
Let's put it that way. But he was talking about
how like, yeah, don't talk to me about kids in college,
Like I don't care where he was drafted, what are
you doing? The pros? And it was hilarious, but it's
the reality of what it is, because you know you
could be And second, I saw what was his name
former Philly in the minor leagues. He just made a
dive and catches went to Cleveland. Aaron Altierre is that
his name? I'm like, yeah, yeah, I was like, what
(40:24):
happened to him? There's just so many good players that
just ended up in the minors. You're right, though, I
will say this one quick thought on college rosties. Maybe
not the World Series itself, but I love the Regionals
and the Superregionals. Definitely watch those. Those are good one
and done, and then the Super Regionals are two and
best out of three, really good stuff. But the College
Baseball World Series, you know, it doesn't do well as
(40:46):
far as radis are concerned.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
It is for me, it's like I want the Phillies
drafted in high school dudes, like I want eighteen year olds,
like nineteen year old. I don't want this twenty two
year old who then like take three years, yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
We bring him up at twenty five and they're washed
by the time they get their second contract, like I
and the Phillies, by the way, I have taken that
stance under Dombrowski in recently.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
It's why we've ended up with Painter Abele. Uh.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
Some of these guys Aidan Miller, who are still really
young despite you know, they've been with us for a
while now, but they're all really young, so they've kind
of taken that. They've taken that view as well, which
is as someone who has been addicted to them will be.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
The show over the last couple of weeks. You know, franchises,
how's that team?
Speaker 1 (41:27):
How's that franchise going for you?
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Oh, we've We've rebuilt like five teams. I did the Pirates, Rockies, Angels.
We made it to twenty thirty three.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
I am PS five? Is that what you are?
Speaker 2 (41:38):
PS?
Speaker 1 (41:39):
Five?
Speaker 2 (41:39):
Xbox? Unfortunately your Xbox an Xbox.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
My little brother is an Xbox guy, and I used
to try to play Fortnite to keep up with him,
just to just to have something to fill It was
my Steve Buscemi giff Hello, how are you doing?
Speaker 2 (41:54):
Fellow kids? Yes, with with my little brother, but I
got into Xbox with him. I wish I was PS.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
Yeah. I tried. I tried the the Fortnite thing. I
couldn't do it. And my daughter now, she likes racing games,
so I'm trying to involve her for Super Mario Kart.
We played Paw Patrol Race. But Mario Kart is where
I'm at. And Sean Bernard had a great call. He said,
buy a Wii, buy an attend a week because I
don't want to get to switch because then I'm gonna
get adicted and I'm gonna be playing one hundred different No,
(42:23):
he's like, buy a wee specifically before they get the
wheel thing. She's gonna love it. I think he's onto
something there. All right, quickly on this.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
In nine days, I'm heading to Super Nintendo World at
Epic Universe.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (42:35):
Can't wait?
Speaker 1 (42:36):
Wow, it's is gonna beautiful? All right, quickly on this.
I got two ones on the way out here. But
stay with the NBA Finals. One player not SGA, that's
going to have a good game tonight.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
We got Let's go with the Jekyl and Hyde.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
Benedict Natheren comes back after ruining the last couple of
minutes of game four. He was unbelievable in game three. Yeah,
how those six man types are? If the pacers hanging
this game? I think Benedict Natherin shows.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Up all right, and Sean Benard shout out to him
last Wednesday for the watching love.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Wow, that's that's his favorite player.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
He cashed in. First of all, you had the Pacers
money line that was plus whatever he hit that he
had Mathern over twenty that was fifteen to one. H
My friend from DraftKings texted me the other day, I
think something along the lines of like for him to
lead a game and scoring was one forty to one.
So we'll see if that's something that we can dial
(43:34):
up again for Benedict. He is at nine plus at
minus one ten, so if he reaches double digit, your
cash and then we'll see what happens there. I'm looking
at my guys Caruso and TJ McConnell. Man, I love
watching those guys play up there. They're ballers, and Obi
Topping has been been proving me right. Sometimes he's had
some good games, but he said some games where he doesn't. Yeah, man,
(43:55):
I'm Obi Topping guy. I'm glad to see that he's
he's just not a free like. He'll go down there
and mix it up. I don't know if I want
him shooting three pointers. I don't know what the average
is what he's at, but uh, yeah he can. He can.
He's actually what six seven eight shots per game. I
don't know about all threes, but still like he's a
guy that's a high flyer. We think of the dunk contest.
I like Kobe Topping, I do I do you have
(44:18):
that dton I still have that date and ticket that
didn't cash a couple years ago for the pandemic.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
If Topping was was a starter getting thirty to thirty
five minutes a game, I think he averaged twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Wow, okay, not twenty eight yeah, twenty ay? Yeah, still
pretty damn good. All right, solitaire? You're a fan of solitaire?
Speaker 2 (44:37):
No? Not a solitaire guy? Blackjack? If anything?
Speaker 1 (44:40):
All right? How about Steven A. Smith getting caught? What
playing solitary? Is there any excuse? Is there anything that? Like, dude,
are you kidding me? And then of all teams, first
of all CNBA finals, but you had people like Lou
Will and Chandler Parson's talking about like I haven't watched
the Pacers all season. You got them in the finals
(45:01):
and Steven A. Smith not during a time out during
the game. Is playing solitaire? Is there any excuse you
can cook up?
Speaker 3 (45:07):
From S A S A S perspective, The only way
you can save this is bring skip back.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
We need Steven Skip on TV. That's the only way
they can. They can both exist.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
I can.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
And I'll never watch it.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
Bring Shannon back before Skip, No the Skipp and.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
I get it. Skip's the worst person. The Skip and
stephen A era. They had her, They had a run man.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
That that the t bow lebron on the Heat era,
that that Skips take Run is untouchable.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Nothing matters anymore, so you might as well do it.
You might have.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
Stephen a Is it's the first take is meant to
die at this point, like I'm not.
Speaker 1 (45:59):
Even there though. That's the issue too. He's never in
studio and it's just a whole different show when he's
not in studio. It's just like, all right, man, he's
a little.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
People are horrible, the people they're bringing on, Like, I
can't every time I see a social clip breakout.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
JJ used to be really good on JJ.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Was good and Jason Williams or why am I drawing
to Blake? Yeah? J Will Yeah, he gives it to him.
He was on there today giving it to him.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
I'm not a j Will Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
And that's the issue too, neither am I.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Maybe they need to do something different, Maybe get rid
of first, take altogether.
Speaker 2 (46:34):
Oh yeah, well that's a whole other they should. But
Stephen as making eighty million dollars a year to go
play solitaire. I mean, you can't take anything.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
See how many names he messes up on a regular basis,
Like you can't take Steven.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
You can't even watch the sports.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
He's working too much, Like you can't think anything he
says a face value. He's just there as like theatrics.
At least if it's going to be there for theatrics.
Speaker 2 (46:59):
Put him a skip, all right?
Speaker 1 (47:00):
And then finally we'll end on this one. The Glizzy
Gladiator is back. Yes, Joey chests, Joey jaws? Will we
competing for the hot dog eating competition? Fourth of July?
Is that get you all hot and bothered? Ready to
go for the hot dog eating contest up there in
Coney Island?
Speaker 2 (47:19):
What if he lost it? If he's washed?
Speaker 1 (47:23):
I just wanted to say, Glizzy Gladiator, what a what
a name? What he really is? He really is? All right,
real quick on this one, because you did bring a
college football what's the first thing you're thinking of right
now on this day here June sixteenth, long way ago,
but right around the corner college football. What's going through
(47:44):
your mind? Where are you at?
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Quack quack? I'm all in on the Ducks, all in
on the Ducks.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Dante Moore it was a big five star quarterback A
couple of years ago. Was that UCLA is freshman year,
played a little bit with Chip, but then ended up
someone they were struggling and they brought in a more
experienced kid to play. But then he sat last year
all year at Oregon behind Dylan Gabriel, learned that system and.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Now he's stepping in.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
So I think a lot of people he's getting thrown with,
like some of the other names that are freshmen or
young guys coming in to start a big programs.
Speaker 2 (48:23):
I think he's been around a little bit longer, Like.
Speaker 3 (48:25):
He's a little bit more experienced. He sat under, sat
in the system. I like how they're set up at quarterback.
And also that's not the main reason they got Evan
Stewart out wide is gonna.
Speaker 2 (48:36):
Be one of the best receivers in the country. They
have an loaded defense, the coach is fantastic. Obviously, Dan
Lanning needs to get over top. We saw Ryan Day
get over the top last year. I think we see
Dan Lanning get over the top this year.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
If you're making me go national championship today, I'll go Oregon, LSU.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
My family, Brian Kelly and done down there in LSU.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
I like that plus a fiftys cruise into a Heisman.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Wow, twenty to one for LSU Oregon plus a fifty
I love it. I'm glad we stumbled into some college
football talk. Of course, got the magazines coming out. I
got myself my first beach vacation book for the middle
of July, looking forward to just relaxing and reading maybe
like two to three pages. I got two kids, I said,
I got a kid. Well again, I got a newborn
(49:26):
which won't be doing anything, but I got a five
year old that I got to keep entertained. So I'll
get maybe two to three pages and it will look
cool and I'll tweet about it, but actually won't read
a damn thing. But in my mind I can't wait
for it and can't wait.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Mark you the best reading.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
Yes, exactly. We'll do it again a little bit later
this week. A lot to discuss, of course, Phillies with
that big series coming up against the Mets, but not
hitting the fast forward, but just yet we do have
a game tonight against the Marlins. We both are on
the Phillies against Sandy Alcaterra. Good luck as far as
all those players are concerned. Mark, we'll listen to you
on Saturday from eleven to one. Tough cover radio show
(49:59):
we'll catch later this week. Always a pleasure, Sir Phil's country.
That's Phil's country, taking us out there. He is. I
like it, Mark Emmy, He's been around the world. You
heard it giving us the breakdown and Nebraska, Missouri decent.
North Carolina. I was about to like, whoa, what do
(50:20):
you like about North Carolina? The eastern side, Well, Greensboro
lacks a little uh, the eastern part of the stay
is where I was. I get it. Kind of some
small places, I mean, but you got the beach right there,
and if you can get the Wilmington that's no joke.
Atlantic Beach is great. Of course, got the outer banks.
(50:40):
That's like, you know, a little bit of a cruise though.
We're all He's amazing, Charlotte's amazing. I wanted to push
back a little bit all the mountains up and push
back a little bit on North Carolina. But it's good
to know. As far as Nebraska is concerned if I
ever make it out to Omah for a game. It
is a fun place to be at all right. Once again,
NBA Finals Game five this evening, best of three between
(51:01):
those two teams, Pacers and the Thunder, and we got ourselves,
Sam Oustreet and Sean Benard coming up next, Picks and
Roll all Things NBA Finals. They're gonna recap what took
place from the weekend. They're gonna look ahead tonight, talk
a little bit about the futures, talk a little bit
about the props. Giving you the best insight around on
all things NBA Finals. That is coming up next. I'll
(51:24):
be back tomorrow, brand new Daily Ticket. Got some fun
guest book this week. Ready to go Friday doing some
mets in Phillies, conversation with our guy Mike Powers. It's
gonna join me in studio. We'll have some fun there.
Natalie Egennoff will be back with us in sam Austria
on Thursday. Got some new guests that we're trying to
book here over the next few weeks. Getting ready for
(51:45):
football season, so a lot going on. Make sure you
following us on all things socials and of course subscribing
to our YouTube channel, where I do want to say this,
we didn't have an opportunity to get too much into
it because last week was last week, it was Wednesday night.
The Wheel of Misfortune was a huge hit. Thank you
very much to everybody that watched that tweeted about it.
Thank you to the Gambler game that hung out buster
(52:07):
from Q and O two. I you know, it was
our first one, so we are. We wanted to have
a little bit of a trial and error period with this,
but we're going to take that concept and make it
ten times better the next time we do it. And
I have a funny feeling that it's going to be
for all things Eagles away games for this upcoming year,
We're gonna be doing a lot for the Eagles away
(52:29):
games as far as that is concerned with our watch parties,
and then some busy, busy football season on the horizon
for us here at the Gambler Fun Monday Show. Good
luck on all those plays. I'll take the Pacers plus
nine and a half, and you know what I'm gonna
roll with Mark Henry Junior. I'm gonna take a little
bit on the money line as well. Might as well
(52:49):
sprinkle at plus three thirty on the Pacers to win
and go up three games to two with an opportunity
to win the NBA Championship at home. When's that next
game being played next week? I know that Game six
will be in Indiana, so it's wow. You want to
talk about an opportunity of a lifetime there, that's it.
But they gotta get through tonight. We'll see what happens.
I'll take the nine and a half, sprink a little
(53:10):
bit on the money line. Everybody, don't touch that doll.
Keep it locked right here to the gambler picks and
roll Sam Austrey schamanard his next I'll talk to you
