Speaker 1 (00:12):
Dayly thinking with you here coming up five o'clock hour,
you are going to hear Shah Barnard and myself talking
about things NBA Finals, A Game one Pacers and Oklahoma
City Thunder. If you haven't heard, okay, see already they're
already crowned champions.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
It's it. Larry O'Brien trophy already going to Oklahoma City. Sam,
it's over.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's it.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Don't even play it was over when the series was set.
Don't even play the games. That's what they say. All right, folks,
Allow me to introduce somebody that you already probably know,
but we're gonna learn a lot more because this is
a funny story and I will get into a little
bit more of the details there.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
But joining us right now.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
She has been a part of the iHeartRadio team for
a few weeks now, a couple months now, and of
course has a huge background when.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
It comes to the world of sports.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
So yeah, you bet your butt we're getting Natalie aganoffin
with us over here in the Gambler Gang, and she's
going to be joining us here on my show over
the next couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Of of course, we got some Phillies action.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
We got some off season or a training camp and
Ots Eagles are concerned. Natalie Aganov joined us in studio, Nat,
how you doing today?
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Well?
Speaker 4 (01:19):
First of all, Sean, thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
I'm glad that we're finally able to like sit here
and Powell, you know, and do our things.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Because we we.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
We used to cross paths, but we never like officially
cross crossed paths.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
I can't talk today, no, I Sam.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
That's exactly That is exactly it, Nat, because I have
seen you on television for years.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah, we've been around the Gamut.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I have known about you for a long long time.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
I just met you for the first time last last
football season.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
That's so crazy to me.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
And An Itxfinity Live. I think it was a football
game or was it a Sixers game? We were there, Yeah,
we were there postgames something fun and then we stumbled
into each other. I'm like, yo, I'd love to do
some stuff, and I know you had a million one
things going on.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Oh but I.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Just say, before I got on the air, I was like,
there's tabs open in my brain.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
They go every every way, which direction.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
If Priest told me you guys hadn't really crossed the paths.
I was like, you both have been prominent in the
Philadelphia sports scene for years now.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
It's like you must know each other through something. It's
crazy because.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
It's like there's you know, there's so many cast there's
a cast characters, right, there's so many people going in
and out whatever whatever. Sean and I just never actually
got to cross paths and especially sit down and talk
about Philadelphia sports.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Here we are. Yeah, finally the day has arrived.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Well, obviously that has a huge deal, huge presence on
Fox twenty nine. You see her on The Fantastic Sports
Show with Breelin and Jason Martinez.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
They do a great job.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Oh they're so funny. They're like the funniest people ever.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
And they've done a nice work with a nice a
job with that time spot. Yeah, you know, and it's
something that I have been screaming about Philadelphia meeting with
of course, everything that happened with with with Comcast being
what it is, and I'll love the respect, but you know,
Comcasts used to have a lot going on in that
time at the time of night. So yeah, it's great
(03:06):
to see Fox, you know, trying to do some things
there and Jason is awesome Breeland's great too as well.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So i'd love to get you on there. I love
when you're on there and pay tune in.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Ye now, you're gonna be joining us here in the
Gambler and My show right every Thursday.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
And you know what's funny, Sean, it's like an interesting
time right now, right because we're kind of in a
little bit of not the doll drums.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
But it's it's it's doll drummy.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Especially what we're looking at this Philly phill score right now.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Zip.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
This is about as uh, you know, dark and deep
as it can possibly get. But however, only it only
can go from up, you know, from here. Flyers are
done sixers. Clearly they're not in the NBA Finals and
you guys were talking about okay, see not the Pacers,
so they're definitely not there. So right now all we
have is the Phillies. We're gonna build up to eagle
season and then this this eagle season, it's gonna be
(03:56):
so crazy, right because you think about like we're gonna
get to hang another Bantner. It's gonna be against Salas
and it's gonna be amazing. It's gonna be so much fun.
So we're ramping up again the doldrums of the summer
right before the when the MMB All Star break, that's
the end of July, and then after July, I mean
fire baby, Well I like that what the Eagles signed
(04:17):
a wide receiver today, and I mean, like, I know
he was like a rookie training camp, practice squad guy,
but like that's the biggest news.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Of And it's like, yes, I mean a.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Day a day, I day yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Better than.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
So I'm random raven, but yeah, so happy to be here.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
No, this is perfect and it fits this show. Trust me,
don't hold anything back. As I texted Natalie that anything
you want me to tee you up on ever, But
you know what with that, I'd like to play a
little bit of a game and get to know Natalie
a little bit better and even Sam, I'm gonna have
some fun with you.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah, let's know me.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
We've known each other for a few months at least now.
He still pretends he isn't. But we'll get to know
each other.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
All right, Nat.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
So I'm gonna come with you first here, let's go
present day. And I'm curious as far as what moves
the needle for Natalie, favorite current Philly athlete right now
everybody counts all sports, favorite current athlete. Who's worth the
price of a mission for you?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
All right?
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Well, I mean, honestly, it's probably the most cliche answer,
but I think it's the right answer.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
It's Jalen Hurts. Ah, It's Jalen.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Hurts today tomorrow for eternity. I mean the way that
he I mean, think about when he came into the
league in Philadelphia. God five years and it was twenty twenty.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah, the twenty twenty draft. Yeah, that was crazy. Everybody
lost their minds. I was one of them. So it's
not like I have room to talk. I was one
of those people, like, what are we doing? Why are
we drafting Jalen Hurts? This is insane. Here I am
five years later eating my words, like totally, Like I
should just like put them in a burrito and eat
my hearts.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
That would be fine.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
Everyone knows Howie Roismann apology for that.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Oh oh too, Like I mean I would like, I would,
you know, make Howie some brownies like whatever he needs.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah, whatever. I'm sorry, Howie I was.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
But you know, you go through like these seasons with
the teams, there's relationships. I feel like, I know know Howie,
he's like a relative of mine at this point right now.
But no, Jalen Hurts today, tomorrow, and forever. Just because
he's done such a great job with the organization, he's
worth the price of admission forever and ever and ever.
I mean he's a Super Bowl winning MVP quarterback of
(06:33):
the Eyes.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
And yeah, he is as good off the field as
he is on the field. Everything that he does, his style,
Jalen Hurts is the real damn deal.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
And he's that's the thing too.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
He's so thoughtful and measured, like you're saying, like off
the field and on the field. Like on the field,
I think you watched him learn how to you know,
kind of like hold.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
The ball inside the pocket.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
He's not really as trigger happy as he used to be,
like he's become. He's mindful off the field and on
the field. And he reads like poetry.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
My guys, he's just got to going on.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
And he was at the.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Metal in a beret. That's a winner.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
That's what his press coming. Ste They's just poetry.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
And was was there anything better than the love Hurts? Like, well,
that's Valentine's Day without a kidding me.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Oh at the store down town and they had all
the signage that was so that was so great.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
I still haven't got a sweatshirt that was a Nike campaign. Right,
yeahs over there.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
He really they know what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
It like there's jobs around for a little bit Nike.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
All right, let's go favorite Philly athlete pasted, Favorite Philly
athlete past.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Okay, same conversations, ballpark. But give me someone that is
not currently playing Chasten Lee.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
All right, Yeah, I mean that two thousand and eight team,
that squad that I mean, growing up they so I
was a sophomore I guess in college when they won
in two thousand and eight.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Yeah, I was sophomore college.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Can I ask you what college? Temple? You went to? Temple?
I had no idea a Sean. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
So being like a teenager in Philly and getting to
watch that squad come up together and then win that
and eight together, and then Chase just his style as
a player. You know, he's a man of few words,
but when he speaks, they're meaningful. And then again you
talk about his execution, the way he handles himself. He
(08:29):
steps up to the plate. He was always composed. But
if you you know, if you pissed him off, you
were going to get the horns. He was and he
was a little bit of a dirty player, which like
you know, my dad, my dad, my dad.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
When I played soccer when I was younger, my Da would.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Be like, just pinch him under the pinch him under.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
I mean, you know, when we would have to like
line up for a wall I was a defender, and
uh he'd line up, he'd just be like inside the
inside show, just pincher right on the inside of her,
you know it did it did?
Speaker 1 (09:01):
One time I did something dirty in football one time.
One time I reached into a pile and grabbed and
I pinched and and and squeezed and you know, twisted
and then next thing, you know, the hand grabbed me
and then it was my own teammate.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yes, Mark, what are you doing? All right? I'm never
doing anything dirty ever again.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
That was my only time I did something dirty in
a huddle or anything like that. Yeah, and it didn't
play out very well. So uh yeah, I never did
that again, all right.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
So the Chase Sutley points, I was seven when they
won when they won the World series.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
But I feel like he's got to stop right there,
he said to me. And I'm not picking on you, Sam,
but and the f one arcade night on what Monday night,
Tuesday Tuesday night, when we were all down there, that
was fun.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
He didn't know who Jessey Jeff was. It's true.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
I mean, so you were seven, So I means you
were born in two thousand and one.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Yes, two thousand and one, Sean, Sean, I'm an old
man over here in that spring Chicken way, older than
everybody in this building right now.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
You're not that much older than me. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
I'm forty four, you're a couple of years. Okay, I'm
thirty six. I'll see my age. It's a privilege, yeah,
you know, it's a privilege to get older.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Absolutely, it doesn't feel great. I love it. Tommy Pickles
over here, I don't even get that reference. I don't
even get that from. Where is that from? That's from Rugrats?
Rug Rats?
Speaker 5 (10:38):
I've heard of Rugrats, But that was that was like
a little past milet grown up. But the point about
Jay Sutley was I was seven and watching that parade speech. Yeah,
I feel like that was the first time I really
heard that bomb and like a curse word. Interesting and
like and I feel like that wasn't that common back then.
I feel like it is now. Yeah, now everyone's cursing.
(11:00):
That was that was but that was like an that
was a big he was using F bomb And I
remember thinking, and my parents loved him and we always
watched that whole Phillies run.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
But I remember thinking, like, Wow, this dude's cool. He
just used a curse word. Curse word. Yeah, what a
mom and dad, Austry said.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
I don't remember exactly, but they probably it was such
a celebratory moment. They were probably like all right, whatever,
like we're okay with this.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Yeah. I know that we used to work for. We
had a mutual guy that we worked for and he
was all been out of shape. Now. I don't know
if it was real because he was on air or whatnot,
but he used to always be upset over that.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
He's still upset. Everyone does I do, And I have
to say I do.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
I do see the point where perhaps profanity there's a balance, right,
And I don't think that.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
I mean, when Jason Kelsey did it, that was a
story that.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Was it was like, yeah, you know, so like there
there has to be a balance. But when Chase did it,
he you know, everybody's feathers were phone.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yeah, she reminded me this.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
I've actually watched the EGO Super Bowl parade back in
February on TV. Remember, I think it was Fox was
carrying it. Every word pretty and they were had to
like mute and it was a huge thing.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
It was absurd, it was it was a little ridiculous. Yeah,
it was.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
They had no choice because like the it was the
FCC rules, I guess, you know, it was literally every
word because every single person went up there was cursing
in their speech.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
And you know what's crazy is then you turn on
McAfee and every other word is is s this and
it's not f bombs.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
But yeah, it's like wait a minute, and you.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Know it's funny, Sean, and it's it's probably a testament
to your training as well. It's like I have, it's
like this ingrained thing in your brain where you're like,
don't you can't say it, you can't say don't say it,
don't say it, don't.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Say you know, totally agree with you on that one.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
It's a no, no, we don't get the leniency like
never never knock on wood, never did.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
I almost slipped up for like the first time and forever.
A couple of weeks ago. I was like, whoa what,
I've made a joke and I what the big is?
Like I must just said that?
Speaker 2 (13:08):
All right? Having some fun.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
We got Natalie egging off with us here, just joined
iHeartRadio a few months ago, rocking out with the Gambler Gang.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
You were on uh with miss Patty. You're on with
Patty Jackson.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Yeah, yeah, Patty had me on a couple of times
talking about I.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Mean icon that's really right.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, it's you know, it's so fun since I've been here.
It's I started in March, and it's been awesome getting
to know everybody else who works here, you know, like
I haven't crossed again, speaking of crossing paths, I haven't
crossed paths with a lot of people who work in radio,
you know over on this side, Patti Jackson, Frankie Darcel.
I mean, just all those super cool people getting to
see like Buster Raach every day, you know, Jesse on
(13:47):
one O four five, Like it's a cool spot to
be here at my Heart, Like it's all, it's all,
it's a whole mix of it's music, it's sports, and
it's it's been awesome.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yes, and you are a great addition to the team,
damn it.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Thank you a great I'm ready to be here, honestly awesome.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Well we're just getting warmed up a couple more, a
couple of quick ones here. If not sports, NT, yes,
because you are your sports here. You are sports gury,
You're the sports go to you. You can talk it,
you live it, you go to these games I do.
But if not sports, what would you be doing? Oh like,
(14:22):
if I for just you know what in the world
a weekend, a weekend, no sports, sports at all? You
are not watching one sports event, no games a weekend.
Interesting And I'm giving you a free check to just
write it wherever you want to go?
Speaker 3 (14:36):
What are you doing with a free check to go
wherever I want? Honestly, I'll talk to Jeff. Okay, great,
So Italy is Italy?
Speaker 2 (14:46):
You go to Italy? Okay?
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Well, I mean I would love to just go to
some beautiful European beach and cook because I love to cook.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
So that's I'm a cook.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
You saw where we talking about my art chokes your
art chow.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
I seem do you cook sam? I do not know.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
I mean a little bit chicking in the air fryar,
but that's about okay.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
I try what's your meal? I am you know what?
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Like I am big on the pasta, making my own sauce.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
I liked obviously the grill. I just love firing. You're
like a grill guy.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah, cooking steaks and then I smoke, you know, barbecue.
Do you have a smoker smoker trigger?
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah? Oh nice.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
My cousin has one and like is obsessed with it.
Are you like the one of those guys where you're
just trying to find anything that you kind of put
in the smoker? You're like, well, smoking, you can put
anything in the smoke, yes, have you don't like fruit
like bananas.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Or anything in the smoking? I made my own salsa.
I didn't make my own salsa before the smoker. Now
we're talking.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
I don't think I did the fruit. But people do desserts,
do they? You can literally smoke anything, Natalie.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yes, that was interesting. Yes, all right?
Speaker 4 (15:56):
So so cooking somewhere on some cliff side in Italy?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
What's your go to? There? You go?
Speaker 6 (16:02):
So?
Speaker 3 (16:02):
I so my grandmother made a Linguinian clams every every
year on Good Friday for years and years and years.
So I've adopted her recipe and that's kind of like
my go to now.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah, I was actually going to bring.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
It to the speaking of going to games, to the
Phillies game this past Good Friday, but my family was
a little embarrassed. I was like, you know, because you know,
you could bring spaghetti in right, yeah, yeah, you could
bring food in.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
All part in like a plastic bat ziplock bag and
then you would just be eating it right there with
the ziploc bag.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Well, I'd be my.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
B y wo b bring my own bowl. I think
I could bring a bawl save like fifty bucks, you know,
not buy.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Yeah, I've got a I've got a lot of thoughts
on that.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
Maybe we don't have time today, but I need I
have a couple of bones to pick about.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
The uh you're speaking to my heart on that. That
is awesome to hear me. It is absurd what you
spend to go to a game these days. And I
just was like, I'm Opening Day and I'm like, all right,
like if I'm coming here, I'm not eating and you
know what, to be honest with you, I can't be
drinking like that because fourteen dollars a beer and it
(17:09):
might be average price whatever, that's absurd.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
It's it's it might.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Be average price, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't
literally punch you in the face. So every time you're
buying it and then you look at your bill and
you're like, wow, I got two drinkers and I paid
thirty dollars.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
That's as much as parking costs. On opening day, my
buddy came back. Now, you know, opening day, we're having
some fun and everybody's got off for work.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
My buddy comes back with two double tequila sodas.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
They were probably thirty bucks a piece.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
He said, he spent over one hundred dollars on two drinks. Well, yeah,
it just does.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I mean, look, I know that we are living in
interesting times in this day and age, especially today today. However,
like it does, it feels, it feels very it feels
difficult to try and reconcile spending twenty eight to fifty
on one drink Somewhere it's it's it's really really difficult,
(18:01):
and I don't want to be that person, but I
now find myself like walking around the act me like these.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Green Peppers are three three for five dollars.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Back in my day, but really back in my day,
like five years ago, they were like five for five.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Yepun beef. I'm with you. I never was that guy.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
I would always throw my card down, not trying to brag, like,
don't care, like put it on my.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Tab, I'll pick up that tep. Now.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
It's just things are so expensive right now, and it's just,
oh my god, it's the most ridiculous stuff.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Do you know how much a pound of Cooper Sharp
cheese was the other day? A pound from the deli?
Talk to me ten dollars. It's absurd for a pound. Yeah,
it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
I was like ground beef is at an all time high.
It's just like, come on, man, what are we doing here?
Speaker 2 (18:44):
All right? Last one? Last one?
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Getting to know Natalie here having some fun for the
first to hear.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
And I think I know where you're gonna go with this.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I do believe that we're going to revisit that player
from back in the day. But your favorite Philadelphia sport
team of all time. It could go Eagles, though, but
I would peg you for a for a Phillies eight girl.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
But I could be wrong on that.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
No, so my favorite team of all time. Yes, you
are correct, it would it's definitely. And here's why. So
I got to cover. I covered the Eagles when they
won in twenty eighteen, which was super super cool.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
But I was working every game, yep.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
And the experience and again, coolest experience of my life,
like getting I was there for the NFC Championship, like
got to be on the stage during the Super Bowl.
Like again, like really really cool things. But you know, Sean,
it's different when you're working in It's different when you
got to be a fan and enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
And that eight team.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
It was the first championship I had seen in my lifetime.
Sean probably doesn't remember. He was watching Barney.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Street.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
He's like, is that Almo cursing?
Speaker 3 (19:53):
No, that'sasently No, So I yeah, that was that's my
that's my squad. I mean I won another World Series.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
You were you were out Minnesota for that Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I wasn't in Minnesota. I covered them when they were here.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
I didn't. I was the only one who didn't get
sent yeah to go to Minnesota either.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
The rest of my team did at the time, but I, unfortunately,
I had to hold it down here, which is fine.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
One of my favorite moments my my history of my
life is, uh my sports working in sports is I
got a phone call and I love them.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
I love Tom Shred and check Shredder right, man.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
So I was doing some part time anchoring and I was,
you know, weekend and I had my spot whatever maybe
whenever they needed me. And they get the phone call
and he's like, I'm going to use your super Bowl
and I'm just like what what And he's like, yeah,
we got a broadcast at ten o'clock. And I go,
like during the super Bowl and he's like, well, Villanova
basketball is playing a game, and I'm like, shred, I'm
(20:55):
not making my Come on, man, there's no way the
Eagles were in the super My wife, yeah, she was
my wife at the time.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
She was like, dude, are you kidding me? Like I'm
gonna have to watch the Super Bowl by myself. I'm like, no,
I now work, and so shout out Shred. Yeah. I
think he pulled the short straw on that one. Had
to work.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
But I just I worked all of them, and you
know what, to be honest with you, I would have worked.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I did work. I worked the super Bowl. Yeah, that
Super Bowl was just different. It was just, oh my god.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I felt lucky that I didn't have to work the
actual game. It ended up kind of like being like
an anomaly. I did something to do that morning. Yeah,
but I just chilled at a bar in Northern Liberties
and with my friends and watched the Eagles win the
Super Bowl for the first time. And I didn't have
the uh energy this time I did in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Yeah, no doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Out.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Yeah, we went down, we were downtown.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
I did a whole different story back in that day. Yeah,
this is what just took place.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Yeah, this year, I walked out, I like waved, I'm
like and then I went back inside.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
And like this year, this year, I actually did a
show postgame. Yeah, all right, you know what. I'm home,
let's go as well. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
So, I don't think any championship in Philadelphia history or
whatever might come, who knows if another one will ever come,
cross our fingers, nothing would ever compare for twenty seventeen
for me.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Just because that was such an underdog story. Oh my god.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
No chance of winning the Super Bowl once Carson Wentz
got hurt.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
No, every playoff game in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
It was just such a special group and a run
and it was like my first championship.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
I really remember. That might always hold a special place
in my heart. That's no way I was working.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
No, no, no, no. That was a great one.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
And that team and like you think about when do
you think about the players on that team, Like again,
the j Gais of the world, the j Gys, the.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Quarter the Garret Corey Clement, you.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Know what I mean. He was a running he wasn't
even supposed.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
To make the roster and and then all of a
sudden he ends up being like the standout for the
offense as they make their way and oh my god,
the Nick Foles wenztrom I, Like that's the you could
not have me.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
And then to beat the Patriots the way that they
did in that game.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
The strip sack, Yeah, Brandon Graham's strip sack. I have
a T shirt with that on it.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
It's like, that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
I have like photos that I want like framed at
some point, like that's one of them. I want Howie
Roseman with the beer can on his forehead. I want
that one framed.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I'm want to put that.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Like with like my family photos the front of the
front of the niece. It's like my niece, my mom,
my dad, all my siblings, and then it's forehead. But
like just like he casually fits in. You know, so
good Uncle Howie.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
All right, now, let's get into present day and hit
some conversational pieces when it comes to our teams. First
of all, we were just talking about the Eagles. You know,
I hit on this a little bit yesterday, but it
was surprising. And then you know, to have suon due
to podcast with Chris Long down their Stea Kwon's and
and then the sound bite drops where he's like, yeah, man,
I might just walk away out of nowhere. And that's fine.
(23:59):
But the big thing for me was with promotion for
this Madden deal. He spoke to the NFL insiders on
the NFL Network and said essentially that look, I'm paraphrasing here,
but that he can do more, he can have a
better season, And that blows me away.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
First of all, it's what we want. But at the
end of the day, like he just rushed for over
two thousands, I.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Was gonna say, you mean rushing for more than two three.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
So that's my question. And it was a great topic that.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
We just jabbed that yesterday and Kyle Fischer was on
with me yesterday and he was like, look, man, he
could be talking about a number of things. So he
gave me his his thoughts on that. So I won't
give you his answer. But what do you think that means?
When Sakuon Barkley says he could still do more, he
could have a better season, what do you take that as?
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Again?
Speaker 3 (24:46):
I think this whole team has that mentality where they're like,
we're not done until it's done. Jalen said that after
the it's not the end until it's the end. So
I feel like they always have that like onward and
upward mentality. Physically, physically, I don't know what that man
can possibly do with his body to extend himself even more.
I mean, he's always clutch, you know, when you need him,
(25:07):
he's always finding the holes to get through. And you
think about running backs, particularly in the NFL, their lifespan
is what pretty much it's like two and a half
to three years on average, Like that's the average lifespan
of an NFL running back. He is we're in year
seven here, it's his first with the Eagles. That not
only again two thousand yards we're talking about. But his
(25:31):
first year here going to the team with the Super Bowl,
It's like, where is the bar set higher? How could
it possibly be set higher?
Speaker 2 (25:38):
And I don't.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Particularly love either that he said, like oh, because he's like, oh,
I'll just walk away, Like you didn't like that?
Speaker 4 (25:49):
It makes me nervous.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
But again, running backs are so it's there's so much
wear and tear on their body that if he were
to ever get to a place where he felt like
he wasn't functioning properly or his body was breaking down,
I would expect.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Him to walk.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
But I hope we I mean what he is another
four years here, I think we'll be all right.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
But I just don't know what else he can do.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Yeah, unless he like stands on his hands and like juggles,
like his juggles.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
I would not put that he probably could, but I'm
sure he truly believes that he can do more. But
it's up to the coaching staff to make sure that
he doesn't do more, because this is the load management.
This is a guy who was pretty hurt during his
tenure in New York. Yeah, giants like that was the
concern when we signed him. He was like, this guy
really isn't healthy that much, and then he had a
really healthy, more than productive year. But you don't want
(26:39):
him to wear and tear like he did kind of
at last year. And obviously he sat week seventeen, which
was the right thing, but you still don't you still
don't want to see that next season where it's like
he has to carry that big of a load. So
I'm sure he believes he can do more. I don't
want him to do more. I want him to be
load managed a little bit to a degree so he's
healthy for the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Yeah, I agree with that too.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
And I'm also I'm not superstitious, but I am a
little stitious. Okay, you know, so I don't really want
to say more, but just understood, into the season, we
go step gingerly, you know, catch catch the ball, two hands,
saque watch where you're stepping. I look, that's all I'm saying.
(27:19):
I went through some of the other cover cover players.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
And didn't work out for them, especially a guy like
Christian McCaffrey, which you know, actually it's.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Like, yeah, there's quite a few that particularly here.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
So while and I walked over I live right near
Pats Genos. So I saw the whole Steak One thing.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Pretty cool, super cool.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
I mean it's magnificent. It looks great.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
I want to know what they I gave it a
thoughtful nod. Nice. That's been a very busy off season
for sake.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
I want to know what Madden paid to just completely
change everything from an institution such as Geno's Steaks and
make it in to Steak Ones, which was fanned free
promotion though.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
For them, it's free promotion for them.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Yeah, but they're still paying a number Maden Paige. Yeah, yeah,
I want to know what that number.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Well, you know, they did it overnight because again, like
I when I say I live there, I'm right there, okay,
and it would that was not like that when I
went to bed the one night and then I woke
up the next morning and it was Steak Ones, which
was super cool. Yeah, it looked it looked really really neat.
What you go to restaurant in your area? Oh my goodness,
Well you frequent if one of't mind sharing with the people, Okay,
(28:30):
So there it's actually there's this new place. It's called Bukatini.
It's on East Pass. I'm ranting and reading about it.
But I'm a pasta girl. So being in South Philly,
I'm like in heaven. There's that, there's Stogy Joe's is
one of my favorites. And then you have like classics
like Ralps, Villa do Roma. I'm doing all the pasta spots.
But yeah, Bucatini. It's this new BYO B on East
Pass you and it's phenomenal. They have like a seasonal menu,
(28:53):
so this is like their summer pastas and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Well we're talking cheese steaks. What's the go to cheese steaks?
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Oh here?
Speaker 4 (29:00):
So all right, I'm not gonna lie and this gets
me a lot of heat.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
But I live right there, so if I have to
al meander over and get a pat ser absolutely criticism.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
So I had one Geno steaks. It wasn't it wasn't
the best, but I am. When I moved here, that's
all we went to.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
Was that's like, here's the thing I get that they're
not these Sometimes I think now we've gone too far
off the deep end where it's like my bread will
sing you to sleep if you my cheesecake, and I'm
like my cheese steak.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
I'm like, I don't know if I need that. You
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
Yes, I'm like like it's it's.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Literally meat and bread. Yeah, and bread makes the bread
makes it. The bread the bread.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
Does make it. But like I passed Angelo's and there's people.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
I mean blocks you've never had Angela's.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Just bought the Conchok and Bakriyes, in my backyard, right,
that's right, great friends with Tim. So try we walked in,
we met each other are an Eagles game. I'm trying
to stumble in and find a way. I actually was
dming him and then he turned something happened. He turned
all of his comments off now so you can't even
DM him anymore.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
But yeah, look.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
They're supposed to be opening up a spot in Concho Hockey,
which is gonna be unbelievab yeeah.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
But I know I've yet to have anything from Angela.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
Speaking of the cheese Steak Wars, I haven't had that
place in South Philly that just opened.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Well, it's like Joey Joey's Place, Joe. I thought, what's
it call Joey Merlino Skinny Joe.
Speaker 6 (30:30):
I know, I just forgot the name. I haven't had
that place yet, but I heard it's pretty good, they said.
I haven't heard it yet either. I've heard that it's phenomenal.
Patty Jackson said it's the best cheese steaks she's ever had.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
What the hell? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (30:44):
All right, yeah, and I saw that what they're doing
is they're doing. They're mixing Whiz and Cooper Sharp. Which
I'm here for it, all right, I'm here for I.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Like the way you said that. I'm here for it,
but I got it. Doesn't mean I'm endorsing. These days
kind of went past like I'm not anymore. I know not.
That's all I got for. Do you think you know
someone Cooper Sharp happened to me? You see?
Speaker 4 (31:11):
This is okay? Can we talk about this for a second.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Wide When did Cooper Sharp become the thing that it
is today? I was thinking that as I was looking
at it for ten bucks for a pound the other Yeah, yeah, yeah,
because I worked in cheese steaks places as high schools.
Shout out to Selernos and Larry's, famous in the Northeast.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Larry's is a really underrated spot. It is. It was
Kobe Bryant's favorite spot. Yeah, really underrated spot.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Yeah, but I worked at multiple cheese steak pizza shop places.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
I don't recall Cooper Sharp back then.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
I don't recall it until like within the last five years,
like the pandemic ushered in the Cooper Sharp Sharp page.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Yeah, you're right, and am I allowed to believe? Am
I allowed to say that? Like Angelo's is the reason?
I don't know?
Speaker 3 (31:56):
I think yet they I feel like they definitely popularize
the sandwich, like that option of cheese for a sandwich.
But I'm telling you, growing up here it was Whiz
American provolooned Swiss. Maybe if you wanted a mushroom cheese steak,
you know, but don't knock until you try it.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
I think I'm going to knock it.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
In some places you're allowed to order that. Mostly you
weren't allowed. It used to be a whole different ball
game back in the day. The right way you were
you know, get out of it, you know, Yeah, you
feel a certain type of way now it's.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Yeah, No, I would try I would try it, Whiz
and uh Cooper Sharp mixture.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
I am starving right now. I am ready for a
cheese steak, that's for Damn. Buster had a great rant
the other day about a cheese steak.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
What was he saying he was just he's right, Yes,
he was saying, I agree with it.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
It's a cheese steak. It's a chees steak.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
Joy, I agree with him. It's gone too far. Yes,
you know we can scale it back now, everybody.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
There's only so like literally, unless your bread is like
giving me bread or singing me to sleep.
Speaker 4 (32:59):
God speed, you know, only so much further we can go.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
We got you on Thursdays here, so we are going
to rock and roll. Well, these are the types of
things that we're going to mix it up. Of course,
everything's gonna come back to sports, and you know, look,
honesty here, I'm just wondering, are you intrigued? Are you
interested at all? As far as the NBA Finals are
is concerned?
Speaker 2 (33:19):
I mean, yeah, yeah, I'll I you know, not that.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
I wanted the Knicks to win, because I didn't, Okay,
making that very clear. I never want a New York
team to win. But just just so we're clear, however,
but there's however, there's however, but if you will, I
I did kind of. I would have liked to have
seen them advance, just because the Nova.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
It's a cool story. The Knicks.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
I do feel somewhat bad for Knicks fans. Not really,
not really, you know.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Dog dog out.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
That was a little deeper than what than what I
would say. But you are sitting next to our resident
Knicks It's okay.
Speaker 5 (34:02):
I'm they like to call me Knicks fangs. I support
certain guys on the team for the same reason. I
like Jylen Brunson a lot. I like Michael Bridges, Josh Hart.
It's easy guys to root for.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Michael Bridges. Thing kind of irks at my soul because we.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Yeah, we had him, that's true, and I'll never forget that.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Yeah, but the way the Pacers came out and just
completely we're able to come back and just they put
their foot on the gas, And I mean, I don't
think the Knicks really they weren't prepared.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
They were not prepared to their coach got got the
short end of the stick. Crazy you get hired to
be fired. I was not happy about that. I did
not think it was handled right and it was the
wrong decision. But that was that was a rant for
a different day.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Well, you know, I feel like some a move like
that sends a message to the players. It's like, we
don't care how far you got, how good. You are like,
somebody is going to take the fall here and they can't,
they can't get rid of them.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Yes, you know so. Unfortunately, nobody safe in that league.
You saw the Luca Downton Street. Nobody is safe in that.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
There's nobody safe anywhere at any time. A swivel everyway,
always all the way. Look at Michelle Beatle and Steven
a next year. You got this going on this world
very crazy. Yeah, you're right about that, all right. Now
every Thursday, we got you. You can be joining us
here on the show.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Tell you what, we might have to bump it up
to five o'clock just for the whole five o'clock hour,
but that's something that you and I will have to
conversation with scenes quick thing.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Please plug anything you.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Have going on, because I know you got a ton
going on going on again when we find you on
the socials, Oh socials okay.
Speaker 3 (35:41):

Speaker 2 (35:48):

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Good day?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Would Jeric and Alex Holly too in the morning?
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's been a minute, but yeah, they
normally call me in for some that's an early rise.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
You know.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
My brain does not normally start functioning until like ten am,
just on an average.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
So at four am, I'm like, yeah, it was great,
thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Yeah, And then I was able to do it. And
when I lived in the Paramount area, man Yunk was
an easier ride. But then to Conchot an extra twenty minutes,
I'm like, guys, it's just very very fine. Come on now,
so far, but that's great to hear awesome stuff and
again represent and holding it down for us here at iHeart.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Sure to follow on.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
So I'm doing a ton with Natalie right here in

going to okay, see tonight, Okay, see in game one?
All right, great stuff now, and then next Thursday we'll
start talking about your favorite beach.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
Great, that sounds fantastic.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
We'll mix it up. We'll have some fun obviously.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Once again, Natalie Ignop joining us live in the studio.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
Great to have you that hey.
Speaker 1 (37:06):

Jason Finelli and John Jansen holding it down, all things
wrestling for all you people out there. Money in the bank,
that's coming up at seven o'clock. Six o'clock, we're gonna

(37:47):
I will talk to you on Monday. Good look on
all those plays. Shanm Bnard and I are next right
here on the Gambler.
