Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to The Daily Ticket with Sean.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Brakes on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
The gambling the action starts here.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
The most combination point rebounds, assists, steals with no turnovers
in a game ever?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
You know, ever, what is that? Did you know that?
And what is that like to do that?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I mean, I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I feel like we're making up stats at one at
some point to make me look better.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
But I think I'm just trying to play the right way.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Man.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
I just want to impact winning.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Playing the right way, and then some tyresee I am
a superstar. Put me on that pedestal. Halliburn, Yes, Sam
Ostri from The Score joining us right now talking all
things NBA Playoffs. Lot of performance last night by Tyrus
Haliburn and what a performance by the Indiana Pacers.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Sam.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
We should have a sweep if we're honest about you know,
because you could say Game one kind of flipped whatever
it's been domination. The Pacers are far and away the
better team, and I think that we're all surprised. Generally speaking.
I know what we have said behind the scenes, even
Sean Bernard, as much as he's a Knicks hater, we
understand it. But the odds makers, and you look at

(01:27):
tomorrow night's game, they're five point favorites. Knicks are favored
by five. Look at the serious price for the NBA Finals.
The odds makers are given the Knicks a better shot
versus the Oklahoma City Thunder, albeit they're not going to
get there, but they're minus five hundred versus the New
York Knicks. They're minus five seventy five versus the Indiana Pacers.

(01:49):
So it's crazy right now what the Pacers are doing.
But what a performance last night by Tyras Haliburn. Sam,
good afternoon.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
How are we doing today, man, I'm doing great to
be back with you with back and sued him.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yes, Tyreus Halliburn, one to night, one a night.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
And like some people like may gotta eat their words
at some point, you gotta tip your cap to a
guy who talks as much smack as Tyre's Haliburn does
and backs up every single word.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
The guy was awesome last night.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Thirty two fifteen twelve zero turnovers, one of the all
time great play performances, and the Knicks are well on
their way to another vacation.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yes, two, one, two three, can't coon exactly that man,
zero turnovers.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
He's most impressive part. Wow, that is incredible. He's raised
his game. What is it? What's going on there?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Is it just simply that the Knicks can't contain him
or is this something that you think could carry over
against Oklambus City Thunder. Not getting into that discussion whether
it will be enough, but do you still see him
playing at this level in the NBA Finals next week?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I mean, look, he's been great, and the Pace have
been great, exploiting defensive mismatches and they've been benefited by
the fact that they've played a bunch.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Of teams who have defensive live builleries on the floor.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
And you go back to the last series against the Cavs,
whether it's Darius Garland when he was out there who's
had a toe injury, or whether it's Donovan Mitchell constantly
hunting mismatches for him, or whether it's been to Jhalen
Brunson this series, who we will talk about Jaylen Brunson
and he's been pitiful defensively and it's been a lot
of Tyrus Haliburn just hunting Jalen Brunson when you have
him and Karl Anthony Towns on the floor.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
There together.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That's when it really gets ugly defensively, and the pacers,
in particularly Tyrus Haliburn, who does a great job of
controlling the pace. He's been awesome at finding those mismatches
for himself for his teammates and playing really fast. And
the one thing I've really seen from from his progression
in his game is that he's always had innate ability
just to get by his first defender and get to

(03:47):
the rim.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
But he's always been a very passive attacker.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
What you're seeing now is he's found a healthy balance
between when he gets to the rim of scoring and kicking, like.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
There's a lot there. Used to be a lot of
times when I.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Was critical of he was too passive. He would be
his defender, he would be at the rim instead of shooting.
He would always be looking to pass. He's still doing that,
He's still creating shots for his teammates at a high level,
but he's also become a really effective score around the rim.
And we know what he can do when he's shooting
the ball well like he did last night off the bounce,
but he's become a much more aggressive score on his

(04:20):
drives and not just a pass and he's found the
right bounce between those two things.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Could the Knicks have done anything differently last night to
find a way to win a ball game when you
score Look the night before, I'm talking about how Minnesota
scored one to twenty and lost, right, Like, that's just
it's hard to believe that that is possible. And then
look what happened last night. Next go on the road
and score one to twenty one in a loss. Could
Thibbs could have done something differently, maybe defensively pull a

(04:46):
rabbit out of a hat like he did in the
previous game. Could the Knicks have done anything differently in
your mind to win the game last night?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah? He could turn the ball over. Last let's start there.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Now, you can turn the ball over last Next had
seventeen turnovers, and it's been a problem all series. They've
had fifteen turnovers per game in this series, and the
Pacers had twenty points off of turnovers compared to the
Next last night, who only had nine. That's been the
conversation last night and throughout the series, because this is
already a team that wants to play really fast, like
this team on makes they're pushing the ball up the

(05:16):
floor Kyrie Saliburn's getting it, pushing it up to Siakam.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
He's attacking.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
They're finding mismatches and they're a team that plays really fast.
And I want to wear down the Knicks because the Pacers
obviously have the depth advantage, but when you're turning a
ball over on top of that, then you're just giving
the Pacers off as a huge advantage. You eliminate all
a bunch of those turnovers and seventeen turnovers, and Josh
Hart had a lot of stupid ones, just bad passes
when he's trying to feed bigs, whether it was Karlathon

(05:41):
Towns or Mitchell Robinson, just just stupid, uncharacter characteristic turnovers
from him. Jalaln Brunt said three turnovers last night, and
he struggled with turnovers entire series, averaging four game.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
It's the turnovers that are the.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Pacers are just capitalizing on because they're getting out of
trains just and because of them.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
And this is a team that already wants to play fast.
You have to.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Slow down the game and control the pace of the game,
because if you let the Pacers do that, nobody can
keep up with them because they play so fast and
they so much depth where they don't wear down as
opposed to Knicks, who obviously don't have a lot of depth,
and a team like the Knicks is really wearing down.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
All right.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I don't want to make this about the Knicks, because
the Pacers are going to advance here and it's there
the story. But I have to ask this question as
far as where we're at right now with the Knicks
and in their future. I know that there are Knicks
fans out there that believe everything is moving in the
right direction. And if you look at the history behind it, Yeah,
make the second round next year, you make the Eastern

(06:38):
Conference finals next year, the expectations will be there that
you're able to get over to Hump. But when you
look at the totality of the East, how good the
Celtics are, championship mentality, The Calves played well, the Magic
could be better. Could the Sixers be somewhat better? The
Pacers next year? So on and so forth. Where are
we at right now with that Nick discussion? Are they

(06:59):
in right spot? In Sam Austrey's mind? Are they do?
They have a lot to be proud of of this season.
I get it, it was his success. It was a
really good season. But man, all that just disappears sometimes,
Like even when you think things are moving in the
right direction and the expectations are there, sometimes you know,
an injury pops up and maybe Brunson's out for another
month or so, next next year, Right, anything is possible.

(07:22):
But where do you stand on the Knicks long term discussion?

Speaker 1 (07:26):
That's why this is such a missed opportunity.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I agree, because you had the Sixers, who out of
it this year, who theoretically who knows should be back
team like the Magic dealt with a lot of injuries,
ended up getting a.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Really low seed.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
You had the Calves get knocked out a sixty plus
win Calves team, Damian Lillard Tears's achilles. Of course, the
next we're going to beat Boston anyway, but this was
a vulnerable Boston team the Knocks took advantage of.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
And then Jason Tatum has an achilles injury.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
You had a prime opportunity with the way the East
just opened up. The Sea's parted for the nixt to
make their first finals this century, and look, it's the
first conference finals in twenty five years, so that's no
small feat. And then they of course should be and
will be happy about that. But you had the opportunity
to make the finals against a Page team that's really good,
like a really, really good Pat Pages team. But the

(08:13):
Knicks probably felt like they were the better team in
this series. And it's not over necessarily, but they probably
thought that they were a better team and they were
favored in this series. So where they go from here
is one thing became increasingly clear the series. And look,
nobody defends Jalen Brunson more than me. I am the
biggest Jalen Brunson guy. What he's done throughout his college

(08:35):
career to NBA career to where he is now is
the King of New York.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
It's the most impressive thing in the world.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I've never seen a worse defensive performance in my life
in a series than what I've seen from Jalen Brunts
in this series.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
And people killed Luca.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Do you remember last year in the NBA Finals against
the Celtics, have Brian win Horse Scotland sports in and
just a viscerated Luca Dodgets first defense And ever since then,
everyone just killed Luca first defense. Jalen Brunson has been
ten times worse defensively than Luca Dontets was than Luca
Donson was in the finals last year. Yes, just this series.
So Jaylen Brunston is usually guarding Aaron E. Smith, and

(09:10):
Aaron Smith is more catch and shoot guy. He's not
really a creator or anything. Aaron Smith has set forty
four ball screens when guarded by Brunson.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
The whole reason is to get Brunton in action.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
All the Pacers are doing time and time and time
again is just to get Brunton in action. Make him guard,
whether it's a switch or he has to hedge poorly,
and just put him in action. Jumble up the next
defense who constantly make mistakes when Brunson is in the action,
and the Pacers excuse me, take advantage of that Brunson.
Let me let me give you a stat here, Brunson's

(09:41):
defensive The next defensive rating with Brunston on the court
in this series is one hundred and twenty nine.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
That would have been the worst in the NBA by
a mile.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
This regular season, the Jazz had one hundred and nineteen
defensive rating, which was the worst in the league without
Brunson on the floor. This is when brunt is on
the bench. The next defensive rating is ninety eight agains Indiana.
That would be by four the best among any playoff team.
So the fact of the matter is that when the
Knicks should have won game won, when they won on

(10:09):
a fourteen to oh run to blow that game open.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
That was with Brunton on the bench.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
In Game three, the only game that the Knicks actually
won was was they sat Brunts on the bench for
an extended period of time, and the reason was because
they had five He had five fouls and he was
picking up a bunch of fouls. But at the same
time he was on the bench and they kept him
on the bench because their defensive lineup was working. They
were actually getting stopskins the Pacers and then they come
back in That's the one game, Game three, the Knicks

(10:34):
actually won, and the only player to have a negative
plus minus in that game was Jalen Brunson. Jalen Brunson
has been bad defensively series, not just bad awful defensively
this series, and it's become an increasing problem, not just
because of what he is defensively, but when he's paid
with Karl Anthony Towns, who's also a bad defender.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
So when you talk about this team's future.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
You can hide one guy defensively, but when you have
Jalen Brunson of Karl Anthony Towns on the four together defensively,
that's the problem. And the Celtics weren't able to exploit
it like I thought they would, but this Pacers team
has and it's evident that you I'm not sure these
two guys can can win fourth series, win the NBA
Championship with them to on the floor defensively together. And
the conundrum is they're both such great offensive players, like

(11:16):
they're so talented offensively, but defensively when they're on the
floor together, you see what they are.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Yeah, Brunson's league man. Brunson's a stud. We know.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
We've watched it and it's been impressive to see them
on the offensive side, but defensively, as you said, a
little to be desired there.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Once again, the odds come out on Draftings Sportsbook. Okay,
se minus five to twenty five versus the Pacers, plus
four hundred for the Pacers. If you still believe in
the Knicks, ok see Thunder minus five hundred versus the
next plus three eighty for.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
The Knicks to win the NBA Finals.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
So that tells you that the odds makers are still
valuing and saying that the Knicks are a better team
than the Indiana Pacers. Three to one right now goes
back to MSG. Do is this go back to Indiana
in your mind?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I think it does. I'm not too confidence the Pace
have been the better team. But look, the Knicks should
have won Game one, like they just should. So people
can say, and I know you said to open that
it should be three oho, but like a lot of ways,
it could be two to two too, very true because
the Knicks should have won Game one and just an
all time collapse when they're up nine with less than
a minute ago, So so theoretically should be too too.

(12:25):
What I didn't like from from the Knicks, especially defensively,
was they just look fatigued.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Like Brunson, Josh Hart. Everyone looked fatigued.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
And that's the whole Pacers plan entering the series, which
we have so much depth, we're gonna pick you up
full court, we're gonna run really fast in transitional offensively,
and you're just gonna be fatigued. You don't have the
depth that we have, and the next are trying to
play more guys they're playing and Andrew Shamitt and they're
playing Delon right. Those guys aren't rotational NBA playoff players,
especially not this deep in the playoffs. So it's tough

(12:56):
for the Knicks when Mitchell Robinson was barely even barely
even had an impact last night. So it's difficult when
the Knicks don't have the depth the Pacers have.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
At the same time, the Knicks have the star power
they do.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
They have the star power to keep up with the Pacers,
and I think they get it done at least forcing
in game six, and then the Pacers probably wrap it
up in six.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
All Right, I know we have a game tonight, and
I get that. That's fine, and we will talk about
that game. But let's hit the fast forward button again,
and let's just go ahead and say that these two
teams that are up three to one, we'll both be
in the NBA Finals that starts on June fifth, next.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Thursday, eight days away.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
And as you just heard, the odds makers do not
believe that the Pacers have a chance at winning this
NBA Finals. Sam, what is your prediction if these two
teams are able to wrap things up for one so
nobody gets extended. Everybody gets their same amount of rest
basically for one both ways. Do you see this going
four to two for the ok See Thunder. Do you

(13:57):
see a sweep for one?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Because I know you're not going to say the basis
of a chance correct, correct, And.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
I would like to because I've been disrespecting the Pacers
this entire playoff run and they deserve more respect, and
so I'd like to give it to them. But the
matchup against Oklahoma City is just too much like what
the Pacers have done so well against Nicks is like
I just talked about exploiting Jalen Brunston and Karnakin Town's
two weak defenders. The Thunder don't just have the best
defense in the league this season. Historically, based on the

(14:24):
defensive raiding, They've one of the best defenses of all time.
There is no exploiting that Thunder defense and there is
no mismatches you can find against that Thunder defense. They
have a Louse Dort, Jalen Williams, Case and Wallace Aaron
Wigans all those guys to just throw at Tyre Saliburn,
and Tyre Saliburn has not seen that type of those
type of defenders that can just come in and take

(14:45):
turns on him and be that physical with him.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
And where there's no mismatches.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
That they can exploit, they can't have ex player like
they were against Jalen Brunton comes set a screen and
put him in action. Because even Shay who's considered the
weakest like weakest linked defensively on the Thunder, he's still
a great defender and he's.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
The MVP of the league.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
So there's just it's Tyree Salibur and the Pace offense
aren't gonna have that success offensively, and the Thunder offense,
we saw what they did against the Wolves in that
last game. When the Thunder offense is clicking against a
really good Wolves defense, there's no stopping them because the
Thunder always show up defensively. It's are their secondary role
players gonna hit shots and show up offensively, and when
they do, they're historically great team, and when they don't,

(15:26):
they're still good enough to win the NBA Finals. So
I could see it in five and maybe six at
the absolute most. But the thunders defensive firepower is just
gonna is gonna slow down the Pacers in a way.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
The pace offense hasn't seen this entire playoff front.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Look, I know that there are some people out there
that are poo pooing this matchup, but as far as
entertainment value is concerned, I know. Okay, so he's going
to deliver, and I think the Pacers are going to
deliver on offense. I think this is gonna be a
fun matchup and hopefully we do see a couple upsets
and therefore a good series. I will definitely be saying
that Oklahoma City will be your NBA champion as a

(16:00):
everybody has been saying basically from the beginning of the season.
But I do believe that the Pacers are going to
make life interesting. They have that horseshoe, you know where
that's at. So I would like to see them go
and win a game or two and have a couple
of close games. We'll see if that's how the NBA
Finals is going to play out. But okay, see, matchup wise,
they're just a little bit better, and especially when you

(16:22):
start to compare them against the Knicks and all the
other teams that the Pacers have gone up against, this
is their best team. And oh, by the way, the
Oklahoma City Thunder got that wake up call where they
went seven against the Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
That was the worst thing possible for everybody else.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, that was kind of the who was gonna win
the NBA championship type series. Yeah, and when the Thunder
grew up in that series, when they went seven against
a core team that won an NBA championship before, against
by far the best player in the league in Nikole Jokic,
that was like, all right, this team has arrived. They
went through their playoff scors last year. Jimi Wims had
a great Game seven. He's an awesome series against the Wolves.

(17:00):
He was the question mark. We know what Shay was
going to do, we know what that defense was gonna do.
Where's that secondary scoring going to come from? And when
Williams delivered in that Game seven, He's delivered this entire series,
and Chet has been great this entire series.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Those questions have been answered.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
And this Thunder team, though still the youngest team in
the NBA, which is why people don't believe in them
necessarily because most teams go through more scorers to actually
win a championship. But this team seems to have gone
through enough and they've grown up. They have the maturity,
they don't have the ego that's a lot of other
teams have, and they're just they just compete at the
highest level defensively every night, and the offense comes with it.

(17:33):
They have the MVP of the league and they'll be
your twenty twenty five NBA champions.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Yeah, and Jalen Williams still under contract next year. He's
a restricted free agent in twenty twenty six, twenty seven.
I know people will already start trying to pick apart
this team anyway they possibly could once they do win
it all.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
But man, he's been balling a.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Great playoff run and of course coming off his best
playoff performance in that game four spot against Minnesota. Now
we are heading back to Okay, see tonight one went
away from the NBA Finals. The all equalizer is the
points spread here, Okay see an eight point favorite. Two
to twenty and a half is our total game getting
started at eight to forty supposedly probably about nine thirty.

(18:13):
Tip off your thoughts on tonight's game. How does this
one play out?

Speaker 1 (18:18):
I think the Wolves keep it pretty close.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
I mean, what you saw last game, and I think
they covered that eight that plus eight. What you saw
last game was the Wolves, their stars struggled. I mean
Julius Randall and Anthony Edwards looking on for nineteen points,
but Jada McDaniels head over twenty, Dante DiVincenzo at only twenty,
Nikail Alexander Walker head over twenty points. So was their
secondary players that were actually picking them up. Well, Anthony

(18:40):
Edwards was creating those shots for them. I mean the
thunder through the kitchen sink. They threw the kitchen sink
at Anthony Edwards. They were crowding him on all his drives,
making it so difficult, forcing him to be a passer
and a playmaker, and he did that pretty well.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Julis random was really bad. He just completely fell apart.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
But if you can have that, And when he he
fell apart, wasn't making shots, he was disengaged offensively and
it was just a bad Julius Randal game, a guy
who's really turned around the playoff narrative about them. But
if you can get more scoring from those stars, from
Anthony Edwards, from Julius Randall, even just last game they
lost by two points with those guys combining for nineteen points,

(19:18):
just a little bit more scoring from them and your
secondary guys continue to contribute.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
The way they do, and I like the Wolves.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Defense is gonna play a better game than they did
last game. The Wolves defense is really good and have
done a pretty good job of limiting the Thunder offense
as a hole. It's been the Thunder defense and dominating
the possession battle with force turnovers and not turning the
ball over themselves that has really got it done. But
I think this Wolves team is going to get enough
scoring from not just their secondary guys, but from this
game they're stars where it's gonna be a pretty close game,

(19:48):
just like last game was. I'd venture to say that
the Wolves actually force a game six all, but I
like I'd play the plus eight, but I wouldn't be
surprised if this goes six.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, Minnesota's covered the last two games place in Game
three to blowout. Game four came down to the wire
three points spread, ended up losing by two points.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Of course, Timberwolves.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Covered that number, and also people are looking at that eight.
It's just the only way that OKA see covers this
number is if it just gets ugly. If it gets ugly. Now,
crazier things have happened down the stretch. We understand that,
but it could get ugly. That's what's going through my mind.
If is aggressive and trying to do a lot of
that people are asking them to do and they're not falling,

(20:29):
I think that Oka see the avalanche could happen down
there in Oklahoma City, especially in that home of environment.
With one more wine, those fans are, They're fired up
tonight to say the least. It's gonna be a lot
of fun though once again NBA Finals starting next week
on Thursday, June fifth, we got Sam Austric from The
Score talk to me about player props as far as
tonight is concerned. If they if they are showing out

(20:53):
okayc and they do cover that number, who's leading away
for them?

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
I think Julius Vandal, like you, just you need to
see a bounce back performance like him. I like his
over seventeen and a half. He's been good this playoffs
and look for he hasn't been.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Great this series.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
And Jalen Williams deserves a ton of credit for how
he's been guarding him, and Lou Dorrett and other guys
who have taken turns on Julius Randall, all those guys
deserve a ton of credit. But the Wolves need more
from Julius Randall, and they probably showed him a ton
of film with how disengaged he was last Game of
Opportunities where they're crowding Aunt where he can actually be
the guy, the secondary guy who can carry the scoring load.

(21:32):
So I think he has a good bounce back game
and the Wolves need him to Like, if he goes
under that seventeen and a half, then I think the
Wolves are going home. But I expect him to go
over seventeen and a half, and that's kind of correlated
with the Wolves play. So Julius Randall, his over points
prop is the guy I'm targeting.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Interesting, all right, Is there anybody else that you're looking
at fading tonight? I know that Sean Benard was high
on Hartenstein to fade him in the previous game, which
I think did pay off. Is there anybody out there
that you think, you know what will be limited due
to a defensive performance.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yeah, I think Dante DiVincenzo. I'd fade him. I believe
his point proble last time much. I was ten and
a half, and look, he had a great game last
game in twenty one points seven for eleven shooting. But
he really hasn't been that great from three orders a score,
Like if you look at his last let's see one, two, three, four, five, six,
seven eight, eight of his last nine games in the playoffs,

(22:25):
he hasn't scored double figures and part of that was
the Thunders offense was leaving him open a lot because
they were crowding Anthony Edwards on his drives. But I
don't expect them to have that same approach, and I
think they're actually gonna to guard Dante DiVincenzo in some
of those Wolves role players a little harder after they
made shots and get out on those three point looks.
So I don't think Dante is another big night tonight.

(22:46):
And his scoring has been down most of the playoffs.
He had a big game yesterday which maybe inflated his
props a little bit, but I'd say is under ten
and a half is a guy I would look to faith, Well.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
We see any defense. How about last night and all
that scoring.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Unbelieve, what fifty one to fifty one in the first quarter.
I'm looking at this like, if you bet the over
in that game last night and the first quarter, you
were cashing that Ticcade over.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
It was a very popular prop last night, incially coming
off of really defensive performance the game before.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Well we see some defense played tonight in two twenty
maybe not hit like.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Look, I'm more of the mindset that the Wolves are
gonna win, and I think if you're playing it as
the Wolves are gonna win or at least keep it close,
they're gonna need to score a ton So I would
say I would lead the over in that regard. If
you think the Thunder are gonna win, the Thunder gonna
win how they usually win, which is their defense, and
they're gonna completely shut off the Wolves offense, So then
I would play the under. But because I think the

(23:42):
Wolves are gonna have some success scoring tonight, especially from
their stars in Julius vand On and Anthony Edwards, then
I think the overhit, so I would play. I'm not
actually gonna play it, but I would lean the over
just based off the Wolves. But if the Thunder win.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
It's gonna be because of their defense and that probably
will go under.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Okay, see front in the center. Possible NBA champions this
season unbelievable, and uh I did see our good friend
Kyle Pagan saying that Sam Hank would have won an
NBA championship if he was still here and Sam Presty
has been I'm surprised to see how long Press he's
been at Okay see, it has been there forever.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Yeah, he's he's been there for ever since the I mean,
he orchestrated the Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden big
three and then he tore them apart, and he's been
Somehow we didn't win a championship of that team, but
he's a better win a championship with the Shay Gilgess,
Alexander Jalen Williams and chet.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Holmgrim big three.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
So who would have thought like he's considered one of
the best GM probably the best executive in basketball definitely,
and he's one of the few who's on that mountain
top who's actually never reached the mountain top with an
NBA championship. So he should get it this year and
be rewarded because he's he's a brilliant dude and he
built this the right way.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
It's very surprising that he was able to last. I
get it's okay see, but it's the NBA.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
At the end of the day, you know.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
You're hired to be fired. I can't believe that he's
been around that long without winning.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
An NBA championship.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
I know that they've had success down there, but bottom
line is, uh uh, you know, we've seen gms and
coaches be fired for less.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah, and that's bad.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
That's bad ownership, and that's so that's bad organizations when
gms don't lay out a plan and stick with that plan,
and they often get just blow that plan up after
after a couple bad years. And the Thunder really never
had that many bad years, even though Russell Westbrook years,
even Russell Westbrook was with Chris Paul that they had
some really good years together and they were competitive. They
were never competing for a real championship, but they were

(25:35):
competitive and making the playoffs, and they had a couple
bad years and then they got Shay Gills Alexander and
have been pretty good and on the right trajectory ever since.
So that's just good organizations when they stick with the
right management. As long as it is the right management
who have a plan, who've laid out a plan and
map out a plan, they don't they don't stray away
from that plan. But there's a lot of organizations that

(25:56):
don't have the luxury of doing that because they play
in bigger markets and maybe there's more pressure and there's
more national media pressure hammering down on them. So look,
I mean, Sam prest he's done a great job, but
he's also benefited from being in a small market with
Oklahoma City for sure.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
That's correct, all right?

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Sam Austrey from the score of course, setting us straight
all things NBA once again tonight eight point spread down
from eight and a half on DraftKings sportsbook. The Timberwolves
do or Die. Sam believes that they're gonna get the
job done tonight. So moneyline plus two seventy five are
you putting out there for the people?

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah, sprinkle dabble?

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Why not calling a shot?

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Stabble a little bit? Why not?

Speaker 2 (26:39):
I mean, I think I definitely love that plus eight,
But yeah, why not dabble with the money line?

Speaker 4 (26:44):
All right?

Speaker 3 (26:45):
I know that you're gonna be doing a ton of
draft coverage for us here on The Gambler. Looking forward
to that as we get a little bit closer and
we talk a little bit more about the seventy six ers.
I was just intrigued when Shanpinar joined me a little
earlier this week and we're talking about how essentially one
and two is our locked in Dylan Harper that much
of a lock of two?

Speaker 1 (27:03):
I think so. I mean it's either it's either trade.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Well, Dylan Harper's getting drafted no matter what, a number two,
but it's either the Spurs will draft him or they'll
trade that pick for a pit tack package that really
the only package would probably include Jannis somehow if if
they went that route and they worked out a deal there.
But otherwise, Dylan Harper will be will be a Spur.
But he's definitely going number two. Everyone's up with that pick. Yeah,
he's He's been the number two prospect pretty much the

(27:26):
whole season, the whole way ever since Gup Flag snatched
the number one spot with how he played at Duke
this year. And Dylan Harper deserves to be I mean
he's I think he's a pretty shortfire prospect. I think
he's gonna be great in the NBA.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
It's just intriguing how Ace Bailey.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
We hear about the success from Rutgers, but I don't
really hear that about Harper at all.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Yeah, it's a good point.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
I think there's more flaws to Ace Bailey's game where
that that's just like, Okay, let me just add this
to the flaw bucket, because yeah, Rutgers was really bad,
just because I'm like, okay, like, yeah, let's put the
blame on him. I think del Harper deser is just
so much blame for how that Rutgers season went as
Ace Bailey. But Dylan Harper's the more surefire player, like
just as a prospect, as a combat guard, as a scorer.

(28:10):
Ace Bailey, obviously, the questions are with the shot selection,
the efficiency, all that type of stuff, and how NBA
ready he is right now, those will necessarily exit exist.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
With Dylan Harper.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
So when you're trying to pile on Ace Bailey, which
a lot of people are right now as why he
might not be a good option for the number three pick,
you're just going to add the fact that Rutgers also
had a horrible year.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
All right, Sam, what do you got cooking over at
the score man?

Speaker 2 (28:34):
A lot of NBA stuff, just a lot of NBA
coverage today about if the Knicks they have a chance
to come back from three to one. The answer is
really no. Put some stuff on the thunder Wolves tomorrow.
If you can't tell from from this hit. I'm still
recovering from a long, long.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
World day too long hanging out with Cooper Degen.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
We were at the same bar multiple nights. That guy
was around. I think he hit every Jersey. I think
you actually said this chat he hit every Jersey short
beach down. Yes, you could.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
You could be.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
And now he's he's at Nowcare now, so he's performing.
That's all right, I hope.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
I mean he had a he had a hell of
a weekend.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
He was at one the place I was at Friday
night or Saturday night, and then everyone on Sunday was like, oh,
he's at this place in Sea. Oh, now he's back
at this place in margant He was hitting three different
day spots.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
The guy had a weekend. Good for him.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
He deserves it. He should sell by the Super Bowl.
I guess it's back to work with OTA's net.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yeah, but I'm also recovering. He's not the only one recovering.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Yeah, it's believe me, everybody is feeling it. It was
a long weekend, especially withal Good in town and all
that and then some But tomorrow we're back in it
in studio, looking forward to catching up with Julian edlow
for the first time in forever, and uh we get
a lot to discuss. Of course, who knows. Maybe Oklahoma
City will be in the NBA Finals tonight. We will
have one team in and then we have a game

(29:49):
five tomorrow between the Knicks and Pacers where the Knicks
are five point favorites. Are very, very intriguing, Sam, great stuff.
Continue to follow you on outing socials Reagi had the score.
Get some rest, brother, We got a big one tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (30:02):

Looking forward to being in studio with Sam. It's always
a fun show. We got a lot of NBA coverage
coming our way. We'll get into the draft as well.
Plus OTAs. We got to talk a little football tomorrow.
I know nobody really cares about OTAs understood, but big

(30:27):
picture conversation, especially when it comes to quarterbacks. Right now,
the Cleveland Browns have legit. They have five qbs in
camp now. Jeremy Fowler came out today and said that
he would expect the Cleveland Browns to move one. I'm
just curious who is on the way out from Cleveland.
Who's going to end up in a new environment on

(30:51):
a new team. It won't be Watson. We know that
because he's still dealing with the injury, and I don't
think anybody wants to take on that baggage. Can he
pickt Come on down, Joe Flacco, come on down, Dylan Gabriel,
come on down, Shador Sanders, come on down.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
They can't keep all of them, can they.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
I would assume Flacco is going to stay unless he's
terrible at camp. I would assume Shador Sanders will be staying.
Dylan Gabriel, will he get an opportunity to be somewhere else?

Speaker 4 (31:19):
I don't know. Can he pick it?

Speaker 3 (31:23):
It's crazy, got a lot to discuss from the NFL world,
and we'll get into a little bit of those conversations tomorrow.
Plus we do have some Phillies baseball, hopefully tomorrow with
a doubleheader. It's crazy because New York played today, and
I get it, New York's not Philly, but it's only

(31:46):
right up the East coast.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
It's pouring here in Philadelphia. They canceled the game.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
Yet the Mets played at home against the White Sox
and they lost. But you mean to tell me it's
not raining at all up there? It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
I thought the whole East Coast was underwater. Anyways, Tomorrow
