Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you get a wager on it. We're talking about it.
It's the Gambler, your home for Villanova basketball. It is
w D A S and w D two seven three
D Fox Sports Radio, Philadeli. Oh you hear it. You
hear it, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Holiday.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
So my my thing is that usually don't listen to
Christmas music until right after Thanksgiving dinner. Then I'll stop
because that it's Christmas.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
I snuck some songs in last week. I stuck a
female this.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Is this is a holiday song. So this swallifies Chris.
I'm in the great Andy Williams. I got a nice
tab here.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Ayn is Andy Williams the Goat? Is he the goat?
Christmas guy?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
He's up there?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
King Cole's up there.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, yeah, I mean we got some really game Manheim Steamrollers.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
We are playing little holiday music because ladies and gentlemen.
Of course, next week Thanksgiving coming our way, fast and furious,
putting the football to the side, putting all the sporting
events to the side. Bottom line, it's a great time
to get together with your family, your friends, and you know,
just be thankful and grateful for everything that you do have.

(01:16):
But there are plenty of people out there that are struggling,
and we know that, and you know you are, as
a professional athlete, expected to do this, but not necessarily
everyone does do this sort of thing. And that's why
Tyrese Maxi is just even more so incredible in my

(01:36):
eyes with what he's been able to do with the
Tyrese Maxi Foundation. And we have been lucky at iHeartRadio
to partner up with the Maxi Foundation over the years.
They've had a Christmas Drive, there was something else off
the top of my head, I forget, but they just
started doing the Thanksgiving Turkey giveaway and this is year

(01:57):
number two and they've had great sponsors to things off
last year and they're even raising the bar up even
more this year. And I believe last year was one
thousand turkeys. This year two thousand turkeys representing the squad
from Gerharts, one of the great sponsors that have jumped
in it helped out in so many ways for this
year's Tyreese Maxi Turkey Giveaway. Seamus Hoyers joined us in studio.

(02:23):
He's a brand coordinator for the great Gearharts Company. Seamus,
thank you for coming in, Thank you for everything. That
Gerharts is doing, and you want to talk about a
partnership that we have with Gerharts. I just want to
let everybody know, tremendous shout out to Mike Powers. But
swinging and ding it hands down, and I'm talking Seamus,
they have so every hole has something cool going on.

(02:46):
What you guys did from Gerharts and the swinging and
ding it open this summer with the washer and dryer
giveaway where we chipped balls.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Everybody had an opportunity to chip a ball into the dryer.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
It was far and away the best thing that I've
ever been a part of with a charity golf tournament.
So nice work there. But of course you're going to
talk about the Maxi Foundation this year. First of all,
great to have you, Thanks for a couple of minutes.
Thy thanks boys, thanks for having me. I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
And you are a Philadelphia sports fan.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Too, absolutely, GHOT Sixers very excited to be Poh, well.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
That's a sensitive one.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I guess all right, that's all right, that's all right.
We're representing that that.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
One strike already. Yeah, but we're very, very excited to
be partnering with Tyreese on this opportunity. Like you mentioned,
it's not really it's not in his contract, it's not
something he has to do. He's just going above and beyond.
And that's what we're trying to do with this Turkey
Drive as well.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Now, just so everybody knows, this was so popular last
year that of course once the tab went up there,
the registration format out there, it was immediately, you know.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Sold out two thousand meals.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
It's going down at the George Washington Carver High School
of Engineering and Science on November twenty third, from twelve
to two pm. Tyreese and his foundation will be doing
a lot of media, so you're gonna see a lot
of it on the news and everywhere, and it's it's real.
And I could speak from having the opportunity to be
a part of these conversations behind the scenes and then

(04:06):
now having you in studio, just having the opportunity to
take us what's it been like working with the Maxi
Foundation and your expectations for this upcoming two thousand meal giveaway.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
So, first off, Tyreese's team has been great, right, and
it's gonna be an awesome event. Looking forward to it.
Like you said, it's this Saturday, twelve to two. The
sign up sheet. We went through it rapidly. Two thousand turkeys.
You can imagine there's a little hard to source. That's
a lot of meat, you know. And these are I
mean for the record too, this is this is a
full dinner that we're given out, that we're giving these
out to families in need. And there was no you know,

(04:38):
there's that sign up sheet pretty much anybody who was
able to sign up, and there's a lot of people
obviously in need in Philadelphia, so we didn't you know,
there was no credit checks, nothing, no real staunch background
checks for this. It's really just a giveaway to put
plates on people's tables for.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
This holiday season. Hey man, man, great stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You had a Maxi Foundation distribute full Thanksgiving meals, complete
with turkeys and healthy dinner sides to thousands of Philadelphia
families facing food disparity with the hell from our local
community volunteers and Gerhart's appliances once again doing big things
in the community.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I love it. Nice work across the board by you
and your team. Seamus. That was a reference to a
gentleman a long time ago that you guys did again.
But anyways, I'm sure to listening audience.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Thanks for the old time.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, yeah, old time.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Sorry all right, but again, like I said, it's this
time of year and it's a great thing to give back.
And I know Tyrese Maxi is a big superstar, but
for plenty of us out there that are listening, whether
it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, the full month of December, if you
can give some time volunteer, I think.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
We should all be doing a little bit more of that.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
But Gearhart's constantly involved doing great things in the community.
How long you've been with Gerharts.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
So I started with Gearharts a little over two years ago,
and I kind of have my hands and everything. Right,
I'm in the sales team. Really, right before we went
on the air, while you guys were finishing up your
last segment, I was pushing out of our internal newsletter
to the team. So, like I said, have my hands
in a little bit of everything. Events included. So obviously
involved with the Turkey Drive, We've also had some other

(06:12):
charitable events that I've gotten to be a part of.
So for example, when I first started here, so we
have a program internally called Gerharts Gives Back. So when
I first started here, our focus was on Habitat for
Humanity cool. So we were basically sending associates out of
our showrooms, you know, two to four of them at
a time to two different Habitat locations, just you know,

(06:35):
for half the day, you know, gets them out of
the showroom. But more importantly, I think everybody was really
enthused to be able to actively give back, especially while
you're at work, you know what I mean. So it
was a cool program for our team. Obviously a really
cool program for us as a company, and then obviously
great for Habitat to benefit from, you know, our volunteer
work there. And then there's a couple of other initiatives

(06:56):
that we have too, So like this year we've made
a couple of trips to the Ronald McDonald Home Love.
We do a lot of work with one one house
at a time, beds for kids, and certain types of
drives like that. Obviously we've got some so for like
one house at a time and certain other initiatives. We
have donations in the stores, so we try to around

(07:17):
holiday season, certain other times a year we put boxes
collection boxes out of the front of the showrooms. That way,
both associates and also clients can stop in and and
and be a part of it as well.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
That's tremendous. I'll tell you what, roaring round of applause.
You're not wearing headphones, but I'm playing you to the applause.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I just want to say Ronald McDonald House again, Like
people hear these names and they might not know what
actually takes place. And like with the Mess Foundation and
Ronald McDonald House, like this is a place where where
families go and when essentially their kids are at the
children's hospital and and you know they're going to be
in there for a month and if not more and longer,

(07:54):
and they need a.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Place to stay.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
And Ronald McDonald House just does an unbelievable deal with that.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
So nice work again.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
But gear Hearts Shame is joining us from Gearhart's Appliances.
Make sure you check out everything they have going on
a lot of showrooms around there, Garrett, around the area.
Excuse me, check them out online at Gearharts Appliance at
dot com. Black Friday coming up? Are you ready to go?
I mean you like you're gonna be working hardcore next week?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Right?

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Busy week?

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Sorry?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Sorry?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, sorry to bring it up. Shamous.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
A light week for us, of course you know what
I mean. Uh yeah, no Black Friday itself. We're open
seven to seven am to eight pm, so a little
little twelve thirteen hour day for us.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Are people camping outside? People like waiting? Are they waiting
for the door? I start shame.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
I got the website in front of you. Guys have
unbelievable deals. We're tiring about up to fifty percent off.
We got one thousand dollars and was the rebates Black
Friday all month click the shop deals, but go to
the showroom as well.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Black Friday all month long. Definitely come to the showroom,
but you don't have to wait till Black Friday. We're
selling the dead.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
What's the uh? What's the hot?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I always like to find out what the hot item
is for kids, right, like for for the day, for
the uh that for the holiday? Right. I just think
it's funny, Like, you know, one day it's a Ferbie,
one year it's a Ferbie.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
You're trying to get some inside information so you can
get your kit.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
That's you're looking for.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
What's the what's the hot? Well, hey, you put the
kid to the side.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I'm being you know, you're gonna be selfish and selfish, selfish.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Gen coming out of here. What's the high item? Right?
What are you guys pushing? What's in the front of
the store. Let me ask you that, all right?

Speaker 4 (09:22):
So, so a couple of things. So in terms of
a hot item I would draw attention to, We've got
a jan Air dishwasher, two of them actually different handle styles.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
So jen, I need a new new dishwasher. I need
a new one.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
This might be the one for you. So so jen
Are is like Whirlpool's higher end brand, They're in that family.
So this is a two thousand dollars dishwasher. Whoa, we
have an incredible bye on it's six ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Come on, one of.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
The quietest on the market, thirty eight decibels, and it's
got interior lighting.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Thirty eight decibels. I love it.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
I can't. I can't even get braced to be that quiet.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
No, definitely not.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Yeah, for a point of reference, right, so normal conversations
like sixty decibels, So again that's extremely quiet. That would
be probably the first problem that I would draw your
attention to. And then, of course, I mean just in
terms of kitchen packages, it's a great time to be
in the market. So with some of the rebates that
we have right now, if you buy a third appliance,
you know, the rebate increases in a way that you know,

(10:14):
you could get a free a free microwave just by
adding it to the package, basically because the way the
rebates are structured. So again, incredible deals right now. Great
time to be in the market.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Tell you what, he knows it all man, he's bringing it.
He's talking about doing things in the community. He's breaking
down the appliances as far as decimal levels are concerned.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
I feel like we should quiz you here.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Talk to me about this fridge airs.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
I'll talk myself into a corner real quick. I love it.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
We're talking to shame As he's representing the folks over
at Gerhart's Appliances. They're teaming up with the Tyrese Maxi
Foundation once again helping communities in the area. With over
two thousand Turkey dinners coming up on this Saturday, everything
is sold out. But Tyrese Maxi Foundation doing big things
every single year. And I apologize this is year three,
year three. All these years run together. I say that

(11:03):
every time I'm mistake, I make a mistake on air,
which is often year three for Tyreese Max Foundation. I
don't want to short change them on that. Seamus, again,
can't thank you enough for coming in here, but I
do want to bring something up if we could again.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
I am I am selfish.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
You can run now.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
And and Mike are great obviously, sales rep and station
manager and engineer and tech guy.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
He does it all.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Mike powers probably longer than that, above and beyond.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
His family love him.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
And one of the first things that I did talk
to him about because I knew he had a great
relationship Garharts, and I say, summertime tailgate season.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I love some barbecue. I want. My thing is like,
I think we can do something.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Where we get like some athletes or some big time
guests and we team up with Garret Hearts, almost like,
why don't we create a little showroom here we do barbecue, tailgate, barbecue, football,
base ball sports.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
You know, I am a smoke meat kindoiseur. That's what
I am.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Seamus, I was tipped off that this was going to
come in. It sounds like you've been thinking about a
promo with us for quite a while. Yeah, But I
mean do we we do all kinds of things in
the showrooms. Right, So a couple of years ago we
did whiskey tastings in our spring clients to come in, uh,
you know, from five to seven and enjoy, you know,
some some light refreshments while shopping. So that that's an

(12:29):
idea that we're definitely interested in it, and we can
talk about doing some kind of demo grill demo with you.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
And also in the spirit of the Turkey drive, you've
got a grill pun Yeah, I think that was yeah,
and these these dinners as well. What is your favorite Thanksgiving?
What's the favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner for you?

Speaker 1 (12:44):
M so?

Speaker 4 (12:47):
I So, first off, I want to say that I've
come around to being a fan of the two pm dinner.
Somebody who has them, I got a lot of I
got a lot of heat for my family last year
for this. But as as somebody who has to work,
I just told you the hours I have to work
on Black Fridays. So I'm sitting around all day not
really doing much. Hey, let's maybe get together a little
earlier because some of us have to be up at
six am the next day, you know what I mean.

(13:08):
Black Friday is like our super Bowl for us. But
obviously the food and the family. I would say would
be not to be cliche, but football is nice. I'm
more of a soccer guy.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
You know, I think we have some some mutual interests
in the room here.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Damn right, the Union.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Okay, that's good. Yeah, I thought you were talking about
Man you first.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
No, I would, I would.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
I would never bring them up.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Oh, man, who are you have? An EPL guy? I'm
a I'm a Leicester City guy. Wow.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Okay, believe it or not, Probably the only Laster fan
you've had.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
No, Yeah, was that? When were you a Leicester City
guy before they wanted all to.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Get established states and anything?

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Did you party with Jamie? You kind of look like
Jamie Vardy a little bit, right, not.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
The most handsome guy, but he's one of the best
goal scorers in the league.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
You're dying right about that?

Speaker 4 (13:56):
And uh and actually, so you know Garhart's this is
really exciting for me. I'm also a huge Union fan.
I know some guys that coach down there and stuff.
Very much in the Philly soccer scene myself. Okay, I
should emphasize not really as a player. I don't want
to set the wrong standard there, but running a team
and stuff like that. And so Garard's actually just partnered
with the Union, which we're really excited about. So that's

(14:18):
another another major kind of sports overlap that we have
partnerships going from twenty twenty five to twenty twenty seven.
So hoping to catch some some tailwinds from the World Cup.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Nice work. And did we just break news about a
partnership with the Philadelphia Union.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Perhaps we did, and I was told I was allowed
to do that.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Nice So well, we are big fans of the Philadelphia
Union and it's a huge season for that team. Of course,
they're gonna have a new head coach in there. Shout
out to Jim Currett, one of the best. I wish
him nothing but the best. But bottom line, is really
excited about the Philadelphia Union, and I think it's gonna
be a great season.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Shamusa's still some good times.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
I had it super apart.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Absolutely, I'd love to hear your thoughts sixty seconds if
you wouldn't mine on the outlook for this team, if
you could give me something positive about this upcoming season,
because my stance is I feel like they were kind
of burned out. I wanted to see Jim get a
shot another year. I didn't think he was going to
be removed, but whatever, it is, what it is. I
want to see the team though, because this is a
team that's constantly had to play extra games, you know,

(15:17):
the playoffs just all right, you didn't have the extra
games this year. Now you get a little bit extended
of an offseason. It's quick, get back out there in February.
I love the Union in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
I do too, right, So I was very surprised to
see see Jim depart from us and can't thank him enough.
Like you said, unbelievable coach, one of the most legendary
in a young league, I would say.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Not a very Philly guys. A Philly guy.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
He actually he grew up in the Orland area, right
around where I about that. So and so with that
being said, right, I'm still optimistic as well because we
have a lot of the same players. I know we
had some of the same players last year. Tough season
and all that, but I still think we have a
lot of talent on this team. Obviously, the academy would
say is the thing that has not failed us yet,

(16:02):
and I continue I expect them to continue to really
benefit us and of course we've got Cavin to look
forward to as he continues to mature.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Wow, forgot about Cavin.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Yeah, so I agree with you, man, I'm very I'm
just as excited for this season as any season passed,
especially you know, we got a new coach in there now,
and whatever you think about it, it's it's it's yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
They still have some young kids. And by the way,
those young kids do get older, right, those young kids
being young kids after a while, and they're going to
get very very I.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Forgot about Cavin for just a second. Like he is
going to be out there. He's going to start every
game next year. Yeah, I think he's gonna start every game,
has to. I think he'll be a big part of
the lineup. I'm curious.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
I mean, he got his playing time in at the
end of the last season, but I mean he's so young,
so young, so.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Small, but still when he got out there, he looked
like he belonged for sure.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Yeah, and I would think that there might be some
rotation games just for him to sit on the sidelines
and maybe take it in a little bit as somebody
who's so young. But uh, he's definitely gonna be a
part of a sure sooner. His brother's still pretty good. Yeah,
I like there's plenty to like the Academy. Look, you know,
I really do feel like.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
There's brighter days ahead for this franchise.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Now.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
They got to go get the right guy to lead
the charge. We'll see who that is.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
It's exciting times even cooler to get you in here
to talk a little union soccer about the partnership with
the Garreheart's Appliances next year.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Fabulous job across the board. Seamus.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Can't thank you enough for stopping by number one, number two,
Thank you for everything. Please give give thanks to everybody
over there that signs on the dotted line for partnering up.
Like I said, with the swinging ending it open and
this tremendous cause here with the Tyreest Maxi Foundation, two
thousand turkeys giving away on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Once again, Seamus.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Holding it down for the folks over there at Gerhart's Appliances.
And can't thank you enough for stopping by once again.
Seamus Birds on Sunday. Yes sir, winning, Yes, sir of course.
Final score, final score, Oh.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Twenty twenty one, twenty eight twenty one. That's a cover.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
I like that, Yeah it is a cover. It's call
me off guard with that one, but you know what,
I like it. We just off the tough prediction. Yeah,
that's good. It was a good prediction.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
I'm I'm all for though, Seamus, thank you very much
for stopping by. Continued success with the folks over there
at Gerhart's Appliances.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Hey, don't go anywhere. You know what.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
On the other side, Larry Henry Junior is going to
join the program. We do talk a little epl Manchester
United got a new guys in charge as well, so
we talk about that.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
See you see where you started.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Also some Flyers conversation coming your way. And then five
o'clock back to the Sixers with Sean Bernard. Six o'clock
the college football preview Show with Ryan Beefquill and Joe Tansey.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Don't touch that doll, keep it locked right here to
the Gambler. More than this.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Spreads totals and all the prop that's in between.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
It's the Gambler.
