She says she's no good with words, but anymore study not a joke will
romantic stuck to enough time. Itis the five o'clock hour here on a
daily ticket Fox Sports, Ready toGambler show Brace John Jansen, girl,
and right along breaking news item forthe day. Unfortunately the Phillies and the

(00:30):
Mets too as well. Nobody caresabout the Mets. Brace, But the
Phillies are postponed for tomorrow, sono opening day festivities. Instead, we
pushed over to Friday sixty five.I believe I saw high Yeah is it?
And Sunday five sounds good? Yeahfor opening day on Friday? Okay,
Oh, those lots are gonna beugly. I might be for this.

(00:52):
Yeah, those lots are gonna beSee Friday fifty six. Yeah,
come on, why you gotta correctme? Sunday, Oh Easter Sunday.
I did see sixty five, andmaybe it came down a notch or two.
Anyways, So let's not waste anymore time, because ladies, and
we have a special guest joining usright now, so excited to catch up
with this gentleman. Of course,we have a partnership now with the folks

(01:15):
over at Cut that's kut t dotcom. We've been talking about them for
the last two weeks, more sothis week than Ainy than ever. Well,
Friday really kicked it off because wewere alive at nick Roast Beef and
there was a lot of peer topeer wagering going on that that evening.
So of course this week it justcontinues. And man, the more and

(01:36):
more you dive into this app, that's when you really start to see like,
Okay, this is the next bigthing right here, this is what
it's all about. And you know, the big guys are going to continue
to do what they got to do. Of course those sports books, but
to me, the ecosystem as awhole for sports, for the sports gambling
industry. I'm always into what's new, what's what's coming. It's the big

(02:00):
thing I'm telling you right now.Cut that's it. And this gentleman created
this bad boy him and his team. Sim Harmon joining us right now on
the Gambler Hotline. Sim can't thankyou enough for joining us Number one,
Shanbray, John Jansen, and ofcourse at the top of all of it,
thank you very much for wrong withus here on the Gambler and allowing
us to partner up, especially thistime of year. A lot of great

(02:23):
things happening in the sports gambling industry, and you guys are at the top
of the list for us. Man, thank you on both fronts, of
course. Of course, guys, thank you so much for having me.
This is actually my very first timeon radio, so I appreciate you guys
doing this. I'm just a goodSouthern boy, so I know you feel
like guys are notoriously tough, Sotake it easy on me today. No,
no, no, no. Thegood thing is sim we're also so

(02:46):
we have both lived in North Carolinaat some point, so we have a
little bit of Southern charm in USas well. Well, yeah, give
us give us the background. Simwhere you're from, then, I am
from the booming metropolis of Gilbert,South Carolina, which which is population five
hundred are claimed the famous We havea peach festival and have more cows than

(03:07):
people. So that is uh,yeah, for for all your listeners,
I'm sure they get a chuck outof that. But yeah, from South
Carolina. Did about five years inAtlanta after college and five and a half
years in New York, but currentlyback in good old sc all right,
and just to let you know somethingthat we have in common. My hometown

(03:27):
of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Our majorthing up there and Troop was a cowflop.
That was our big thing of theyear. So okay, yeah,
yeah, Well well, luckily forme, I have all my teeth and
have never tipped a cow. Nice, all right. I lived with the
Amish. We had a bunch ofAmish on us in Oxford, Pennsylvania.
All right, So now we're comingtogether because of this great app cut And

(03:51):
I'll tell you sim I mean everyword I said, because this weekend I
was at a party on Sunday.I was at a party on Sunday with
a couple of friends of mine andI'm like, hey, if I ever
download a SAP, check it out. And then one by one as they
all signed up over the next twodays Monday and Tuesday, I kept getting
text message, dude, this ispretty cool. And that's that's how it

(04:11):
hit me. It's like, allright, I'm joining I'm in. What's
different right from the other sports gamblingapps that are out there. What's different?
This is completely different than all ofthat. And again, at the
top of the list for me isthe peer to peer. Right, You're
sitting there with your buddy. You'relike, you know, watching a Monday
night football game, the Packers andthe Bears, and you want some action.
I like the pack I like theBears. All right, let's go

(04:33):
ahead to head fire up the Cutapp. What else is it from?
From your perspective, the guy whocreated this, bad boy? What's a
feature that you don't think gets enoughattention? What's something that people need to
be checking out more on the Cutapp in your mind? Well? Look,
I mean I think the goal ofcut has always been to bring friends
together in kind of a one stopshot where you can chat with your buddy,

(04:57):
make the bit, have record keeping, have that ledger, have that
reconciliation, and most importantly, takecare of the actual payment side of things.
Right, And to back up,you know, the genesis of this
app. I have to laugh whenI tell this. For the genesis of
this app was me and my buddysitting at the lunch table in high school
betting on who scores more points Kobeor Lebron that night. Right, And
then you get to you get tothe lunch table the next day and you're

(05:17):
like, all right, you wantme ten bucks? You know so,
and so it was me twenty andso therefore you know, okay, I'll
just pay you directly, YadA,YadA, YadA. Well I used to
tell that story, and one daymy friends finally said, they said,
listen, man, you got tostop making us look bad because you always
say say we never paid up.And so so I've changed it slightly,
but basically the whole gist of itis that everyone and their friend group has

(05:40):
a betting group, chat, likesto bet against each other, has a
fantasy football group. And cut reallywanted to take that and make it into
a fun, engaging, one stopshot platform, right, And so I
think the biggest thing for me isjust all the social features, right.
You know, I think that thatcould be in the fact that everyone has
a user profile. You can seeyour against them, you can see their

(06:00):
betting history. And then we alsohave things like group chats, right,
and so I know that you guyshave your own group chat on the cut
out, And our goal really isjust to kind of build this community,
right, because I think people inherentlylike to bet with and against their friends.
That's just how betting naturally flows. And you know, one of the
pieces of feedback we've gotten over theyears is that, hey man, look

(06:24):
I've lost a lot of money tothe DraftKings. I've lost a lot of
money FanDuel. It's just not fun. You know, at a certain point,
when you're kind of throwing your moneyaway to a corporation you know that
doesn't know who you are, it'sa bit frustrating, right, And so
I think people just like betting againsttheir friends and kind of keeping that money
in their front group. So Ithink for me and the social features are

(06:45):
really the you know, the differentiator, but also the thing that I like
the most about it. Yeah,I can't talk trash to those those sportsbooks.
You know, it's like playing onlinevideo games. I'm only playing against
computers because when I end up winning, it's what do I do? Do
I tall crap to my Xbox? No, I can tell crap to my
friends. That that's the way todo it. Yeah, I like that
exactly. We don't. We don'thave a casino, but you know,
I'm sure all of us have donethat, you know, late night roulette

(07:09):
spin, you know, want topunch a wall, right because you're like,
wait a minute, I'm arguing witha machine here, it's just you
know, it's just it's not thesame the same experience. So for us,
yeah, the social stuff that Ithink it begins and ends with with
the stuff for us excellent. Nowsim of course with a few of our
people. How does it work fromstate to state? And I know North

(07:29):
Carolina just legalized. I know Pennsylvaniawe can deposit. We're rocking and rolling
on all things CUT right now, especially from the gamblers perspective. Do have
a couple of people that are personalitiesfrom the station that are in Jersey.
They can't deposit over there in Jersey? What's the latest and how are things
going in North Carolina right now?For CUT? Yeah? So look,
I mean Cut, we we operatea different business model, right. So

(07:53):
again we're peer to peer, sotherefore you know who you're betting against.
Again that's what everyruns out of,use a profile. And then we also
have you know, all these socialfeatures as well, right, and so
as as kind of all these thingscan deal together. Uh, we actually
took the track of wait a minute, we're treated differently legally than a traditional

(08:15):
book because you're betting against other peopleand not the sports book. Right.
We also offer fully customizable odds,So essentially you can create your own terms
and payouts, right, and thenwe also offer betting on things besides sports,
and so we actually can operate inforty states or zero across the US,

(08:35):
including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, youknow, California, texasor some of
these other states that don't have traditionalsports books, so that you can actually
avoid having, you know, togo offshore, you know, or the
or to the local booking, whichyou know, I'm sure we all we
all have stories there, yeah, but yeah, so we're so it's it's
just essentially it boils down to thefact that we have a different business model.

(08:56):
Again, it's peer to peer andso there we are treated differently from
a legal perspective, and it's greatand what's great to cut Sam, sorry
to cut you off there, butthe cool thing is you just mentioned California
in Texas, those are two ofthe biggest states in this country and still
don't have any legalization of sports gambling. So that's a huge deal that they
can be involved in that and reallycool. Again, this app is next

(09:22):
level. You have to check itout. Download it. That's k U
t T dot com available wherever youdownload on your phones of course, the
androids, the iPhones, all thatgood stuff. Please you can cut me
off now, yeah, I can. The referral code gambler the most important
part. Let them know that you'relistening to us right here on the Gambler
referral code at gambler now John you. But yeah, speaking of because I

(09:46):
think one of the more interesting thingsis betting on things with friends that you
normally wouldn't be able to with asports book, like I don't know the
Oscars, which was a lot offun, even though it was too much
of a coward to place a beton Emma Stone. I'm still beating myself
up for that. But things likeI don't know, WrestleMania coming up,
that's kind of what that's kind ofwhat you guys are are looking for,
right, things, things that arekind of out of the box, so

(10:07):
you can bet your friends on that's, uh that's interesting to do. Like
again, Mania coming up in Philly, uh in in a couple of weeks
or next week. That's that's somethingthat that's certainly enticing the entertainment aspect inside
of this one. And that's that'skind of our whole pitch. And you
know, as we talk to investors, partners, users, other people.

(10:28):
That's what we start with, whichis yah, sports betting gets all the
media attention, right and and forgood reason, right, but we think
that the non sports betting market isjust as big. I mean, you
know, think about things like politics. You got the twenty twenty four election
coming up, that's very polarizing. You have things like Oscars, award shows,
reality TV. The Bachelor just ended. Like people like to bet on

(10:50):
everything, and and so that isdefinitely where we can differentiate ourselves by offering
these you know, these these othermarkets, you know, whether that's pop
culture, entertainment or finance. Youknow, hey, I want to make
a bet on where the S andP five putter is going to end the
end of the year. So that'sdefinitely so we already offer that right now.
And then what we're also moving towardsand what we also can do are

(11:11):
setting up these kind of private bets, right these group bets. You know,
I can't tell you how many howmany weddings I've been to where my
buddy looks over and says, hey, man, I think this is going
to be over thirty four minutes, you know, and I'm you know,
what you're on, right, Andso that's the ultimate goal, which is
to make Cut a place where youcan bet on anything against anyone with a

(11:33):
verifiable outcome. So long as theadventure betting on has a verifiable outcome,
we want to put it up onthe app and let let you and your
friends bet on it. This isfantastic, sim I'm so grateful that I
stumbled across you. I know thatyou reached out to John and of course,
uh, you know the Mike powersthat I've stumbled in it. Yeah.

(11:58):
It was literally I thinks was like, you know, talking about the
oscars on Twitter, and I waslike, you know, wait a minute.
We offered that, like we cando that, we can put that
up. Yeah, and that andthat led to this and I'm so glad
he did that. Yeah right here, man, same thing we got.
We got a lot of people behindthe scenes with some big brains that are
connecting the dots and some cool thingsthat we're gonna be rolling out in the

(12:20):
next couple of days, especially andnext week with Mania coming to town,
We're actually heading to Vegas for Masters. We're gonna be broadcasting live out there
at Circa at Stadium Swim Hey,man, come on, hop a flight,
join us. All right, wecan get your room out there.
So it doesn't take a lot toconvince me. I didn't think it was.
Yeah, all I know is ifwe can't get a ticket to Augusta,

(12:41):
I think the next best place wouldprobably be Las Vegas. But well,
you know what, we're currently amin South Carolina. We're about thirty
minutes away from Augusta. So youknow what if you make the trip,
Yeah, yeah, I think it'shaving aside. Have you guys seen some
of the house like the airbnbs aroundAugusta from I don't even want to I
could imagine people have that. Thereare literary stories around the area of people

(13:03):
paying off their mortgage after you know, just a weekend of Wow. Yeah,
crazy sounds about right, Yeah, sounds about right. One day,
one day, maybe be able toget a ticket and get in there.
But uh, I'll take CIRCA forthis this year, that's for sure.
But we're gonna be out there,We're gonna be representing. We're Yeah,
that's the cool thing. Like yousaid, the peer to peer is top
dog, that's number one. Forinstance, this afternoon, and I saved

(13:26):
this for you. I keep comingyou cut? Sorry, Sim from the
Cut app. Yes, he iscut. It's one of the same these
days. It so. Sean Bernardand I were we we recorded our NBA
podcast today and the Orlando Magic andthe Golden State Warriors four and a half
points spread. He said he lovedGolden State. I said, no,
man, I'm taking Orlando at home. We went right to the cut app.

(13:48):
There it is, and that's whatit's all about. That's what it
started. And I think that's thenumber the number one strength and of course
the social tie it in and talkthat trash and be a part of that
commun unity. You know, everybody'sgot a discord. This is somewhat similar,
but there's some a lot more tochoose from on the cut app.
And once again, Sim harmon joiningus right now in the game. But

(14:09):
I do want to tell Sim thatyou are you are helping to facilitate the
app. Sean and I are goingto go head to head this weekend,
and the loser has to go watchWinnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey two.
Yeah oh part two, Part two. Yeah. Oh, we can
watch the first one, but yeah, part two is out in theaters.
Yeah, it's such a bad moviethat we're gonna go head to head with

(14:30):
these college games and Sweet sixteen andElite eight, see who comes out on
top via the cut app And thenwe gotta go ahead and see a bad
movie. We'll see how that happens. Yeah, to add insult to injury,
and that's that's good. It'd bea nice cherry on top there.
I've done a bet like that previouslyand I lost it. And I had
to watch Human Centipede, Christian Mingleand The Cobbler with Adam Sandler Wow in
one night, and it was awful. It was absolute good luck. Uh,

(14:54):
sim I'll tell you what, man, We're gonna be touching base,
We'll be connecting and love to haveyou back up on here. You fill
out a bracket obviously, who yougot cutting on the nets? And do
you have a favorite play this weekend? That's a great question. So I'm
actually riding the Houston train right now. Wow, ask me why I am.
Admittedly I'm chalky this year. Ihate to admit that, but I've

(15:16):
got I got the three number oneseeds perdue Houston, Yukon, and Arizona.
I feel like half of America probablyhas that as well. But Uh
yeah, I think this is KelvinSampson in Houston's year just you know,
so they'll probably lose a you know, a couple and by and by and

(15:37):
my play for the weekend, that'snot for this weekend. But I have
to plug us because I am amassive, massive, massive South Carolina fan
and we are the most marginal justaverage marginal program athletic program in the nation.
But our women's basketball team is thegold standard right now women's basketball.
And I have an exorbitant amount offutures on the South Carolina women cutting down

(16:02):
the nets in a few short weeks. That's winning at all. So I
did I didn't even go, didn'teven go men's men's bracket. We're going
straight women's bracket. Caitlin Clark getsall the notoriety, but South caront of
women, this could be one ofthose. Yeah, that's that's fine with
us. Don Staley Philly's finest.Absolutely we are we are one. Okay
with that? Wait, we hadthe Don Staley alson Jeffrey connection. I'll

(16:23):
tell you you know, Sam onMonday, right was it a Monday?
I watched three consecutive girls basketball games. I've never done that before. In
my life, never have done that. It was really good. Listen,
I mean women's basketball. Listen.I don't want to alien to anyone here.
It gets a lot of black, you know, pure understandably. So
the South Carolina women this year, they played the best half of basketball of

(16:45):
men or women that I've ever seenin the first half in North Carolina this
weekend. And when you see goodbasketball, which I'm a massive basketball fan,
recently turned on a few NBA games, it's unwatchable. Taylor, It's
almost unwatchable. It's so much isolation, it's so much just one on one
not fun to watch, no defensewhatsoever. And I watched women's basket Caroline's

(17:10):
basketball team this weekend and it wasit was really pretty, really fun to
watch. So so yeah, that'swhat it takes, you know, me
watching women's basketball to get us throughto the national championship. I love it.
Well, see if we can getyou a Jadeveon Clowney Carolina Panthers jersey
now that he signed with the Panthers. Yeah, how about that, I've

(17:30):
got uh yeah, Well, mymy buddy texted me earlier today as it
happened, and he said, Ithink now South Carolina has three or four
guys on that defense right now,so they're there truly are embracing the Carolina
aspect of the Panthers. But youknow, every again, not to go
off topic here, but everyone keepstalking about Clowny's bust. Well, it's
been in the league now for what'sthis twelve years? Forever? Twelve years?

(17:55):
I mean, hey, still stillcatching those checks. I suely,
that's it, that's it, andit's a great, great deal for him
to go back to Carolina. Ofcourse, that team needs a ton of
help right now, and I thinkhe can provide some leadership. Thanks.
Yeah, it's gonna take a fewmore signings of that caliber to h yeah,
help out that team. But yes, I saw that and good to
see. Hey, sim can't thankyou enough for popping up on here,

(18:18):
man, excellent job for your firstradio hit. And uh, we'll go
ahead and get you a copy ofthat for your resume if you need it
for your you know, your highlightreel. But I don't think you will,
because your app is speaking for fora lot of it right now,
and it's tremendous. Once again, kut t dot com, checkum out online,
download the app now use referral codeGambler and join in on the madness

(18:41):
right here, right now, andSim Harmon, you are the man,
my friend will be in touch downthe road. Good luck on all your
plays and go Carolina, go gamecocks down there, don Staley, my
man, SIM appreciate a couple ofminutes, Guys, I appreciate it.
Have a great rest of the week, you too. Now there he is
once again Sim Harmon on the Gamblerhotline. And you could already hear it

(19:03):
in his voice. What a whata nice guy. It's just something about
them. Yeah, man gets upon the phone. I'm like, I
hear it. There it is thisdude, not gonna do you wrong with
anything. I love it. Yes, for those that don't know, just
a few Carolina guys talking talking shop. You know I was in it.
I was going to go down thatpath of like wait a minute, you

(19:26):
picked all ones, but not youwin. See So the something tells me
he's not a UNC fan from SouthCarolina. You do have that? Well,
there is, Yeah, because ifyou're in North Carolina. If you're
in North Carolina, you say Carolina, that is North Carolina. If you're
in South Carolina, you say Carolina, it is South Carolina the game cock.
So Carolina is always un c tome. But I never lived in

(19:47):
South as right, that is thathas always been a very contentious thing between
the Carolina interesting. But I thinkof Carolina, I think of North Carolina.
Well, yeah, because we livedthere. If you lived in South
Carolina, I guess different. Yeah, I guess you're right. So from
from this perspective, and like yousaid, with the peer to peer that
that's number one. Just putting abell on this and and just really being

(20:08):
honest with everybody out there. We'vebeen doing this show forever now for five
years, and and we've dealt withsome apps over the years, and you
know, picket h Rhythm, youknow, like I don't want to go
down the list of like and andtake shots or anything like that. They
all serve their purpose, but nothingever delivered like like cut is delivering for

(20:33):
me right now. And just fromthe user experience, a being involved,
you know, checking what's new, because what you can do is if you
are somebody that Okay, for instance, there's twelve NBA games, say you
want to I think the Bulls andPacers are playing each other, and that
game is god awful. So sayyou want to get involved in it,

(20:56):
say here, you're at an airportor watching it on TV, whatever it
may be. You know, yougo to that game on the cut app
and then you can see if there'sany open wagers that are you know,
people have placed, users have placedand you could either a join them on
that b go up against them.See put a little money on it and

(21:17):
not the full amount that that personput on there, and like you can
find a wager that you can getinvested and get involved in that game.
Yeah, that's been a great thingevery game. Yeah, every game.
That's been a great thing is thatwhen I've gone on the app, I've
been able to find a wager andsomebody wager against There are so many public
bets available that you can look at. You can make your own, and
usually most of the time I've gottenmy bets accepted. Somebody has accepted a

(21:41):
bet against me, So it's it'seasy. That was the great thing for
me early on doing this is howeasy it was just to place the bet
and somebody. Either you place yourpublic bet, somebody will bet against you,
or you could find a public betthat somebody already has and it's something
that you've been looking for. Coolthing. It's been really easy. There's
so many things that we haven't beeninvolved in, like the leaderboard. I

(22:02):
haven't used the leaderboard. I don'tthink you're you don't have anything to worry
about him, now, you know. Just wait till football season. Just
wait till NFL season. I'll beable to do this, not not college
basketball. Tracking your record too, which is always important for the people out
there. They want us send tobe on the up and up. Transparency
is the best in this space, right, So you get some tracking going

(22:23):
on, you can put that outthere and it's really easy. I don't
think you I don't think you canmake a private profile. So if you
wager on this app, people cango and click your your accountant. See,
I'm an idiot because I did makemy name Sean Gambles, So I
should probably change my name. Idon't know if I can to just my
real name Sean Brace. This way, I'm easier, sat. No,

(22:45):
that's really good. All right, well it's really good. Friend me,
request me whatever you gotta do,bet me, bet me, yeah,
exactly. Yeah, we got alot of betting to do. Brace,
you got you got a Winnie toPooh movie to watch. And we made
the case that this is in movietheaters, I'm gonna Winnie the Pooh all
over your bed. That wasn't acase. That wasn't a deal for me.
I thought it was what do youmean, Yes, it's in theaters

(23:07):
right now, all right, unlessit's going to be there's a seven thirty.
There's a seven thirty showtime today.Wow, how long of a movie
is it. It's not that long. I think it's only an hour and
a half, all right. Andthe reason why we brought this up Pooh
Part two. It's a horror moviefeaturing Winnie Pooh. Can you say Winnie

(23:27):
the Pooh Part two not Pooh Parttwo? So you were like, I'm
not part of No, I'm not. I'm not gonna say it. I'm
not gonna say it. No,and it might be leaving theaters by by
the time you do this. Butstill, no, I'm not doing this.
So jan I'm not watching Winnie thePooh Blood and Honey two. It's
cheap. It's blood in Honey one. Non't because I'm not going to Because

(23:48):
I don't. I am not goingto do any of these where the copyright
goes up, and whatever that lawis, you're able to start using these
these ips that were created, andpeople using him just in the most shock
value way that they can. Thatis cheap entertainment. That's cheap as hell.
There's no creativity there. It's created, it's creatively bankrupt. There's no

(24:10):
reason to watch that. There's nothere's no reason for me. I don't
care if people say it's good. It's still the The act of using this
as as shock value to me leadsto no creation. That's all it's doing.
It's well, it's not somebody seeingWinny the Pooh and actually going,
here's a creative way to use Winniethe Pooh. Instead, all this person

(24:30):
did was, you know what I'mgonna do with Winnie the Pooh. I'm
gonna make it a horror movie andI'm gonna have him kill people. Because
Winnie the Pooh is the opposite ofthat. In whatever space he's he's he's
a kid's character, he's very lovableWinny the Pooh with Andy. But instead,
now this person whoa, Let's makehim a killer. That's great.
That's that was your creative mindset whenyou looked at the Winnie the Pooh character.

(24:53):
He said, let's make him alet's make him a slashing murderer,
and that's gonna be our win.He the Pooh. That's creatively bank drum.
That's that's not creative at all whatsoever. And that's cheap. That's really
really cheap, lowest level entertainment thatI don't need to watch. I don't
need to go to theaters to watchthat, all right, it's John Jansen.

(25:17):
There are so many other good moviesthat actually have creative ideas, that
are actually there that you can watch. Watch Love Lies Bleeding. That is
