Interview with Ian Koons, Co-Founder and CEO of Karoo Health │ Value-Based Care Innovation for Cardiovascular Care

In this episode Maxwell Cooper, M.D. interviews Ian Koons, a serial healthcare entrepreneur and Co-Founder and CEO of Karoo Health, a digital platform that deploys a value-based approach for cardiovascular care. Ian gives an overview of Karoo's digital platform which acts as an extension of cardiologists to give patients comprehensive health coaching for dietary management, smoking cessation, and other lifestyle modifications. Additionally, the Karoo platform provides patient monitoring for cardiology practices that integrates into the electronic medical record (EMR) to help identify patients at risk for an exacerbation of their disease possibly requiring an emergency room visit. Ian announces Karoo's recent successful oversubscribed $3.4 million fund raise and provides advice for medtech entrepreneurs looking to raise capital from venture capital.
