a week. 1st We begin tonight with new details about a former
UTSA football player who was accused of murdering his sister.
Officials with the Travis CountySheriff's Office say 25 year old
Michael Egwagu stabbed his sister multiple times at a home
(01:08):
in Pflugerville yesterday. It's been reported his sister.
Was pregnant. Night Team Steven Cavasos
explains what investigators are saying and how neighbors are
reacting. 25 year old Michael Egwagu arrested and now in the
Travis County Jail. Egwagu is accused of fatally
stabbing his sister at a Home Office Gava Lane in Pflugerville
yesterday. Investigators with the Travis
(01:29):
County Sheriff's Office are still working to figure out a
motive. We're still piercing it all
together. We'll continue to gather those
details tonight and start figuring out what happened.
Emergency crews arrived to find the woman with multiple stab
wounds. She died in the home shortly
after, according to TCS Oh, it was reported that Egwagu's
sister was pregnant. Neighbors in the area say
they're in shock. It's really sad to hear.
(01:50):
Courtney Williams never imaginedsomething like this would happen
in his community, especially with a family who he thought of
as friendly. Kind people, kind nice, always
waving, smiling. Williams says something like
this should never happen. No matter whether it's a
stranger or someone you know. Now official officials.
With the Travis County Sheriff'sOffice say Iguago is being
(02:11):
charged with murder, but it's still unclear if those charges
will change if an autopsy reportreveals his sister was pregnant.
Right now he is being held at the Travis County Jail with no
bond. Hello, my demon insiders, and
welcome back to The Demon Inside.
I'm your host, John Venom, and today we are going to be talking
about the Demon Inside Michael, Iffy Iguago.
(02:33):
So a lot of you don't know this, but Michael was actually an NFL
prospect in 2017. He trained with the Chicago
Bears, and he was looking to getpicked up after the training
camp for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a free agent at the time.
But before we get into all that, let me start off with a little
(02:57):
bit about his past. So Michael was born and raised
in Pflugerville, TX, and he played football throughout those
years at John B Connelly High School where he got picked up by
the UTSA Roadrunners here in SanAntonio.
And I actually found a article by Ariana Garcia, who writes for
(03:21):
the Austin American Statesman, and she interviewed a friend of
Michael's. His name was Cole Sneed.
So this is the article and how it reads.
Cole Sneed, who has known Michael since middle school and
played football with him from the 6th grade through high
(03:42):
school, described him as a compassionate person and a great
leader on and off the field. Now these are Cole's words, so
and I quote. Growing up, Michael's character
was exemplary. He was a kind hearted individual
(04:06):
who left a genuine impression onthe hearts and those he came
into contact with. It was a pleasure being able to
see him develop into the leader he was at UTSA.
Snead also said Iguagu that Michael went by the nickname Egg
and that Michael was a talented person, especially on the
(04:29):
football field. He was a second team All
Conference USA selection during his senior year.
He appeared in 44 games and mademore than 200 tackles.
Now also, she interviewed another of what Michael's
friends at Hayden, Washington and Hayden remembers his
(04:51):
childhood friend as the life of the party and someone whose
infectious energy everyone wanted to be around as they were
growing up. He and Michael met when they
were seven and later played on the same football team in
Pflugerville. He says, Washington says, and I
quote, when it came to football,he was like the glue, kept
(05:14):
everyone sane, kept everyone on track and on the same page.
End Quote. Now Washington also says this in
the interview. Washington says, and I quote, he
wanted to be an entrepreneur. He was always looking for the
next best thing. He wanted to be something that
(05:34):
Michael's true passion was musicand that he would sing and rap
in a hip hop and R&B group called YNWD.
He often performed at the South by Southwest festival.
End Quote. So with that being said, Michael
has other outlets that he likes to explore.
(05:57):
So let me tell you that football, even the NFL, was not
his only profession. Michael is an entrepreneur.
Michael, along with being a music producer, a rapper, an R&B
singer, he also taught himself to be a stockbroker.
Now, the reason I'm bringing this up is because when you hear
(06:22):
the crime, which he did earlier, but before I start talking about
it, I want you to know his stateof mind because Michael's NFL
career wasn't the only thing he was hoping for.
And a lot of people would think that because he did not make it
(06:42):
in the NFL that it crushed him and maybe he lost his sanity.
But that's not true. This guy was OK with not having
an NFL contract. As I was doing my research, I
found an interview he did on a podcast show.
The podcast is called Spring Forward and it's hosted by Alex
(07:06):
Goatstick and you can find it onSpotify or if you go to the
description on the bottom, I'll post a link to it.
But this interview is showing what he thought if he didn't
make it to the NFL. Take a listen to this.
Does that, does that make football?
(07:26):
Easier or harder? For you, I mean, I think for a
lot of guys foot, they're here because this is this is their
profession. They're qualified to be football
players. Their passion is football and
that's what they want. But for you it's just a passion.
I mean, it can turn into a profession and a very high
paying one at that, but you've got these other things that
you're good at clearly. Does that make it easier
mentally to deal with the success and the failure of what
(07:49):
might come? Athletically, I think 100% it
makes it way easier because you're just out there having fun
and, and don't, don't make no mistake, you know, I, I put my
all into every single thing I do.
I give my best. I love playing football and I'm
very passionate about it. And whenever I'm focused on
something, I'm solely focused onthat, which is the reason why I
have other guys in place to keepthings moving while I focus on
(08:11):
this. But yeah, I mean, it's one of
those things where you. So to some people, it's actually
an advantage whenever football is your only way out, you know
what I mean? And without football, you're
going to be starving on the street or something like that.
To some people that's an advantage, but I think to a lot
(08:31):
of people it makes it such a stressor that a lot of times you
can get in your own head and youcan psych yourself out.
For me, it's it's, it's very football becomes therapeutic.
So this podcast was actually recorded April 8th of 2018.
This was after the 2017 draft picks, which he did not get
(08:52):
into. So Michael is still very
positive about everything. And Michael started reading
books during this time, and I'm going to get into that a little
bit later with the spirituality of everything.
But let's go ahead and get into the crime.
And we're going to start it off in December of 26/20/19.
(09:16):
The day before, because Michael was staying at an Airbnb with
his stepdad, his mom had actually left on a business
trip. And Michael was pacing around,
couldn't sleep and his stepdad asked him what was going on.
(09:36):
And Michael started talking about Jesus Christ, telling the
stepdad he had been saved and had been shown the white light.
The stepdad told him that this was a good thing and they
discussed religion before going to bed.
Now Michael had been sleeping ina recliner downstairs when all
(09:59):
of a sudden there was a loud thump and the stepdad came down
the stairs and Michael was wide awake and he was sweating
profusely and speaking about religion.
So the stepdad tried to get Michael to calm down and go to
(10:20):
bed upstairs with him. The stepfather says he just sat
straight up in the recliner and was staring forward as if in a
trance between approximately 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM.
Now, we all know about the 3:00 AM hour, which is the witching
hour, but let's continue on. So at after 4:00 AM, Michael ran
(10:45):
out of the house and left in hisvehicle.
So around 4:30, he arrives at Jennifer's house, his sister,
and that's her name, Jen. And just to clear things up, I
know I usually don't say the name of the victim, but in this
case we're going to have to because he talks to Jen when he
(11:07):
is sitting in the back of the police car.
But we'll get into that a littlebit later.
So I believe at this time the spiritual battle has already
begun because the step dad says that their mother, even though
she wasn't in town, she had beenpraying with Jennifer over
(11:28):
Michael for several hours through video chat.
Now sometime during that morningor the afternoon of the 27th,
Michael's brother also showed up, which is Jennifer's twin
brother. And they're both older than
Michael. And he also prayed over Michael.
(11:49):
And around 4:00 or 4:00 PM, Jen sends a message to Linda and
according to her twin brother, Linda is a friend from church
who is seen as a church mother because she takes care of
(12:12):
everyone at the church. The message that Jen sent to
Linda said this that she had baptized Michael, but he was
manifesting and this was to Linda a demonic possession.
(12:34):
So now at 4:10 PM the brother gets a message saying that
Michael needs him and he needs to come to the house
immediately. This was from Jen's phone and
I'm going to explain why I'm saying that because I believe it
(12:55):
was Michael sending that messageto his brother to come to the
house. Now Linda arrives and she knocks
on the door and Michael comes out and he is covered in blood
and he has a knife. Linda says when Michael came
(13:18):
out, he had a smile on his face and he said he killed Jennifer
after he walked out. Jennifer's two children who came
walking out behind him and they were also covered in blood.
But thank God that nothing happened to them.
When Linda saw this, she immediately dialed 911.
(13:42):
I'm going to play the 911 call from her.
And during her call, an off dutypolice officer actually shows up
and takes the phone away from her and starts talking to the
dispatcher. Take a listen to this.
Travis County 911. Do you need police, fire or
anything? Yes.
I need an ambulance. Hurry.
(14:03):
Tell me exactly what happened. Her brother was in the house and
he and I came over because she needs ma'am.
What is wrong with her right now?
She needs an ambulance. Yes.
She got stabbed and says blood everywhere.
She got stabbed. OK.
Are you with her right now? Yes.
(14:25):
OK. I've got help already.
On the way. Quick.
Is she awake? No, she's not awake.
No, and I don't. Is she breathing?
I don't think so. Ma'am, listen to me.
If she is not conscious and she's not breathing, we have got
to start CPR, OK? OK.
Lay her flat on her back on the floor and remove any pillows.
(14:47):
Get her on her back. I'm sorry you're with the Police
Department. I was the Korean Police
Department. OK, we've got the help on the
way. If she's not awake and she's not
breathing, we need to start CPR right now.
Ma'am, she's, she's going to be 1042.
OK, you're saying she is beyond any help?
(15:08):
Yes ma'am, I know you're saying she's beyond any help but if she
is not breathing we need to go ahead and start chest
compression. They make sure she is flat on.
No, I'm telling you at this point, my.
Professional opinion. Is is it on?
Is. There anybody else there that
that is willing to start chest compressions until they arrive?
No, no, no. At this point, it's better to
(15:30):
walk on the scene and so you know, can you do the.
Tape for this. Do you see the suspect?
Yes, I do. OK, where is he at?
He's in the roadway in front of the history.
This place is naked. He doesn't trivial on at this
point. So what I'm going to describe to
you is what they were seeing, and I tried to get as much
(15:52):
information as I could. I tried to get police reports,
affidavits, things like that. But it's hard depending on what
city it is. But the most part, this is what
I got from it. Now, if you have a weak stomach,
I'd suggest skipping over this part because it's going to get
graphic. She had been stabbed in the
(16:13):
kitchen. She was laying in the kitchen
covered in blood. Blood was on the kitchen floor
and on the walls. And he had stabbed her in the
stomach and in the head more than 20 times.
And he actually cut her eyeballsout of the sockets.
(16:37):
We've heard that before in othershows that I've done where they
cut the eyes out. Now Michael gets naked.
He throws his clothes into a recycle bin.
Then his brother shows up, whichis his sister's twin brother,
and he sees Michael in the street naked.
(16:58):
Michael tries to approach him, but he stays away from him and
police arrive just a few minutesafter that.
And at this time, Michael, who is naked, is on his knees
praying in the middle of the street.
And they arrest him and put him in the back seat of the patrol
(17:22):
car. Now what I'm going to play for
you is what Michael is saying inthe back of the police car.
Now, this is into the spiritual world because you could say that
he was crazy, he lost his mind, but if you listen to what he's
(17:43):
saying, it's almost like he's having a spiritual battle from
within. And I'm going to play the whole
thing that I was able to download and I'll explain it
when it's done because there's alot happening in it.
(18:05):
So take a listen to this I. Love you so much.
(18:27):
It's me the only one who knows you, brother.
I'm a dog. I'm a dog.
I'm a dog. Hey.
So don't look at their eyes. Don't look at they are the same,
(18:49):
do you hear me? They are the same.
Don't look at their eyes, They are the same.
Whatever it happens. And is it a day talking that OK?
Father knows what to do Sorry. Hey, Michael, did you take?
Anything tonight? Any.
Alcohol. Any recreational drugs?
Prescription drugs. How are you feeling?
(19:09):
Are you hurting anywhere? Can you tell me where you are?
No. What day?
Is it? I love you.
I can't hear this lady. It's me.
Michael Iguana, come get me off.You know all that.
I love you so much. I will kill you.
(19:38):
You look at me. Come shake my hand right now.
In front of all your men. Come here.
Now. Get the over here.
In front of all your men. Get the over here, you stupid
pig. I will kill you.
I will cut my brother's throat. I will stop this entire
(20:02):
simulation. The ghost, everything that's
supposed to stand. Talk to me in mirrors.
Just teach me the last time around.
(20:23):
Just teach me. I love you.
Just teach me. Take control, my little boy.
Don't, Don't let me slip into the devil's grass.
Hold my hand and we'll work on it together, knowing that we'll
be saved by Jesus Christ. We'll be saved by Jesus Christ
and then we will be saved. By God.
(20:45):
And Lucifer? He's a clown.
His own name. I just have to do that for God.
So sorry. OK, It's still me.
What? The God?
That's crazy. Get out of my head.
(21:06):
I'm sorry. I took a life I felt like I had.
To. I felt like I had to.
Please get out of me, demon. Get out of me, Demon, you demon,
you wretched demon. You wretched demon, get out of
(21:28):
me. In the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ, I repute you. In the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ, I repute you. In the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ, I repute you. In my own head.
In my own head I rebuilt thee inmy.
(21:48):
I'm scared, Jen. I'm really scared, Jen.
I don't want to be trapped here.I want to be with you guys.
Fellowshipping. I don't care about all the
bright lights and the everythingelse going on, man.
I don't. I don't know it.
This might be real. It might be a simulation.
But I know I love you guys with all my heart.
(22:11):
Please wake me up Jennifer, please, it's your brother.
Wake me up. Get this demon out of me.
Please. Please guys get this demon out
of me. Martin.
I love you bro. I know y'all are there.
(22:31):
I thought I was doing what I hadto do.
Man. I'm trapped in here bro.
Please get this out of me. Tell me how I transcend this
physical form. Brother that I love.
I forgive. I want to be with you guys.
(22:55):
I pray that this serpent inside me get out.
Get out of me, serpent. Right now.
Get out of me, serpent. In the name of dear Lord Jesus
Christ, please let this body burn in this in this pit.
Let this body burn in this pit. Father, I do not want to control
this. I am not the puppet master you
(23:15):
are. I want light, Father, I want
light. Let there be light amongst the
dark, Father. Let there be light.
These are all the voices in my head that I have to get out.
I am forgiven for my sins. There is no shame.
There is no shame. Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I love
(23:36):
you. God loves you.
They can call whoever I am protected.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, it does not matter.
My father is God. Sir.
Play and Detective McManus with Stratus County Sheriff's Office.
Can you tell me your name, Sir? Michael.
(23:58):
Michael. Michael.
What's your last name? The Archangel.
Michael the Archangel. OK.
Can you tell me the name you were born with?
Sir Michael. Michael Way, The Archangel.
OK. So I know this is a lot to
digest and he talks about a lot of different things.
(24:20):
I just wanted to say before I inthis episode that I got that
clip from EWU Crying Story Time, which is on YouTube and I get a
lot of my info from here becausethey're pretty good.
But the video itself, as far as him sitting in the back of the
(24:40):
patrol car, I'm not sure if it'sin order.
I was actually looking at their video of this and there was no
timer on the police cameras or anything, so I couldn't go by
that. I actually went more along the
lines of this guy. I mean, it was bright during the
(25:02):
day and then it was night time and then, you know, depending on
what was going on. And as far as the investigator,
of course he's going to be therea little bit later than most.
So I kind of kept it the way it was, and I'm hoping that was the
right timeline now on the next episode, because this is going
(25:24):
to be a Part 2, because there's no way I could have done this
all in one show. And in Part 2, I'm going to come
back and talk to you about, one, what he was reading and why I
think that has an effect on whathappened to him.
And two, we're going to go through this video again and I'm
(25:46):
going to break it up and talk about it and what he's saying
and things that I've found aboutwhat he's saying.
And three, I'm also going to talk to you about another killer
that stabbed people. I just want you to know that I'm
(26:06):
not sure if these two are the same but it's very coincidental,
which I don't like to use that word.
But this person also stabbed people which strikes me kind of
weird and it happened before Michael stabbed his sister.
(26:28):
So I hope you enjoyed this show. This is my first episode and I
am so sorry that it's a Part 2 but there's no way I could have
done this in one episode. And for all of you that have
been with me this whole time, I'm sure I'm going to hear it
(26:48):
online or some of you are probably going to message me.
And I'm pretty sure Aaron and Jr. are probably going to call
me because they have my phone number and Shannon, so you can't
forget about Shannon. But hey guys, thanks for
listening and I will talk to y'all next week.
