Speaker 2 (00:02):
I have caught myself getting goosebumps when the
Padres do really well, I wasjust going to say the PNC might
be hearing you.
You better say Padres.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Man, whatever they know, hit us, and I was at that
game too.
It was miserable.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
That's embarrassing.
You see anybody there, allright, all right, all right.
Well, welcome everybody toanother Dead Hat Chronicles

(00:39):
podcast With me, just the two ofus.
Tonight.
It's my good friend and co-host, oh stadium food girl.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Well, how you doing?
Hi, I'm good, I'm so happy.
Baseball's almost here.
It's monday.
It's gonna be a good weekbecause we've got spring
training to look forward to now.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Pitchers and catchers actually report pretty soon now
, so right at the time of thisrecording, right, we're talking
about that.
Baseball is like the nfl isdone.
You know no more nfl.
Uh, obviously there's othersports that come out, but you
know what?
It is our time, it is baseballseason.
It is here, we're ready to go.
So we're going to do a littlebit of a discussion of some

(01:19):
couple of things that we werediscussing, uh, off air, on
tradition, food items, whatwe're looking forward to this
year, and all of that as far asbaseball is concerned.
But before we continue, guys, Iwanted to make sure that you
guys are aware.
Okay, so June 22nd I think it's22nd 23rd we will be doing the

(01:40):
Curveprint Media Meetup.
It will be in Chicago, illinois, okay, so it is set as we are
going to it.
Come join us.
A lot of the Curveprint Mediapeople will be there.
Val, I know you're coming right.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I'm definitely going.
I'm so excited.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Done, so we're going to be there.
Make sure you guys, the teamswill be announced later on at
the end of february, so you guysare aware of who we're going to
go and see, uh, but we have, uhthe team set up, we have, uh
the date, so let's go.
I'm ready for this.
So, and then you know, we arethrowing this out there again so

(02:17):
we might be doing again thearizona folly this year.
Heck, yeah.
So a little mini that'ssomething that we've been, that
we've been toying with a littlemini get together, corporate
media meetup, uh, part two, uhin Arizona, right To go and see
some Arizona Fall League.
So, uh, stay tuned for that.

(02:39):
That's still in the work, sovery excited for that.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
That'll be so fun.
I'm four and a half hours away,so if you guys are, I mean I'm
gonna go for sure.
But yeah, y'all have to bethere absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
I mean, I went for the first time, um, so
definitely you don't want to dowhich.
They do a better job this yearcoming up it's merchandise, but
that too, um, so let's, that's.
That's something that, um, lastyear, something that was
lacking, in my opinion, with thearizona fall league, right,
like this should have beenbetter.

(03:13):
Uh, they should have done abetter job at marketing the
arizona fall league.
Uh, paul of you know, does hehas, he he's a, he's a an author
, he's a podcaster.
You know how he does this, allthis stuff.
But, uh, my good friend, paulcaputo, right, uh, baseball by
design podcast.
He says that this was like, this is like what it was like to

(03:35):
go watch, um, the early versionof spring training, right, like
when there was not a whole lotof people that knew about it and
and and well, this is it.
I just wish they would do abetter job with the marketing
and, honestly, in your world, for you food items.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah.
Yeah, I will say that SloanPark had a pretty cool little
setup for what it was, but I doget it Like it's only a month
and I feel like for them to haveto bring everything back out
after a long season yeah um,that's probably tough, but I'm

(04:12):
not saying bring everything, buthave a, even if it's a limited
run of things.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Has something cool other than just like your
chicken tenders and your hotdogs and burgers.
You know what I I meanSomething a little bit different
.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, no, I mean, yeah, Sloan had that, the basic
stuff.
I mean all of them did, but, like I will say, the
cheeseburgers for what they wereat Sloan Park I could have had
two.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
There you go, so all right.
So, um, you know, right now itis it's, you know we're, we're,
we're there on, like you know, pitchers and catchers showing up
pretty soon here.
And I want to know and I askedthis on the Dead Hat Chronicles
sports show every Tuesday andThursdays, 9 pm, eastern time,
just so you guys know, what isyour one tradition before you

(05:00):
start the season?
Right, and I'll give you anexample For me, before the
season starts, of every MajorLeague Baseball season okay, I
got to put a caveat on it EveryMajor League Baseball season,
before it starts, I always buy abrand new hat.
That's the one thing I do brandnew hat.
It could be a t-shirt as well, but I always do a brand new hat.
So, for you, what is thattradition for you?

Speaker 1 (05:28):
This is a fun one.
I've never been asked this, butI definitely do have a
tradition that I love it outthere in case anyone else does
it.
As you know, every time I go toa new stadium I buy a jersey
like that's.
I budget for that minor leagueand major league throughout the
season.
Whenever I wear a Jersey to agame or just out and about when

(05:51):
I put it back, we have a Jerseycloset.
So whenever I put my Jerseyback in the Jersey closet I
don't even look in like I shoulddo a better job of like
organizing it and stuff.
So before the season starts Iall my rangers jerseys together
so I usually have one jersey perteam.
Right, I'm not gonna have likesix angels jerseys like I have

(06:12):
rangers multiple of other teams.
It's rare they've got to belike on sale or something right
but I organize everything bylike um, by division okay
so all my afc west teams aretogether.
So like, since I have the mostrangers jerseys, obviously I'll
do all my rangers jerseys, andthen my one angels, my one a's,

(06:32):
my one mariners and so on.
So I organize all my jerseys.
I'll start with mlb first everyone of every jersey that I have
like team per, like division, and then I'll do like my minor
league jerseys.
So obviously I have majorityaviators jerseys.
So I'll do all those first, andthen my round rock jerseys.
I don't really do those bydivision because I don't have as
many, but I'll do them in order.

(06:53):
So I've nice round rock andaviators jersey.
So I just organized my jerseycloset this way.
When I'm like getting ready forthe season, I know what I have
and it's just a fun feeling it'slike spring training.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I get it.
I mean, you got to get readyfor the year, right?
I mean, let me ask you do you, when you're getting ready, like,
and you're about to go to agame and stuff like that do you
use the same jersey, or do yougo and and go and grab a new
jersey?
How do you do that?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
so because I have multiple rangers, I'll
definitely like switch it out.
I have multiple aviators, so ifI wore it in the last vlog,
I'll like change it but like forexample, I have one angel
jersey one age jersey 166 jerseyone round rock.
So in that case, like I'll tryto make it different by like

(07:48):
having my nails and theundershirt different.
This way it doesn't look toodifferent.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Like the repeater.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
What's that line from Lizzie McGuire?
The only thing worse than anoutfit repeater is an outfit
rememberer, but I'm an outfitrememberer and an outfit
repeater when it comes to thesethings.
So I'll just like make sure mynails and my undershirt are
different.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Okay, all right, okay , do you, girl, do you.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
But I would love to have multiple of every MILB in
every MLB.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
You know, eventually you'll get there.
You know, just because the morewe do this right, we find that
we have a lot Like for me.
You know, I think I was talkingto Patrick Larson, right?
Mlb hat history.
You guys should follow him onsocials.
What I have been doing is allright.
I'm to the point where, likenow, I got to be a little bit

(08:41):
more selective of the hats thatI buy while I'm in my house and
start buying the hats at theballpark, right, unless it's
like I really want it, then I'llgo.
I'll go ahead and buy it online, but like I, you know, like I
want to for the major leaguebaseball, for sure I'm not
buying their hats until I'm atthat ballpark.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Is that so that you don't accidentally buy it twice?
Yeah, girl, cause I got toopark.
Is that so?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
that you don't accidentally buy it twice.
Yeah, girl, because I got toomany.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
That is so funny that you say that.
So on Saturday I had asked you,ed, look at these Golden
Knights jerseys.
They're five bucks.
Let me grab you one.
I'll grab you one.
They're five bucks.
I was like, which one should weget?
I was like I'm going to get agray one because I don't like.
Well, I come home.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
You got the gray one already, don't you?

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Yeah, no, I had the black one already, so good thing
.
So I'm over here telling you Idon't like the black one, when I
already have a black one, but Ibought it because it was $15 at
the arena, so I yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, it's on sale.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
I liked it for $15.
But I like the gold stitchingon the gray better, so I would
have been so upset if I hadbought that black one on
saturday when I already had oneout yeah, I'm all.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I am a fan of the stone wash better than the black
one.
Um, obviously, I'm wearing aone right now.
If you guys are watching on onyoutube that I have one that
says deadhead on it.
It is stone wash, right like.
I prefer that one better than ablack one, although I do have a
lot of black yeah, yeah, so I I.
I know I guess I still got toget that one.

(10:11):
You don't have a guy in it yet.
I still got to get it.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I'll be there.
I'm going to turn a swing bybefore we go to spring training.
Let me know.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Let me know, Because I also I owe Donnie a hat and I
told him that I was going to gethim one of those hats.
So let me know.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Or we can hit up our good friend Tom and see if they
have any in stock.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
There you go, I like it, I like it.
All right.
So as far as you know again, tradition and everything, what
is the one besides the Curb itMedia meetup?
You know, what is the one tripthat you're looking forward to
this year?

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Another question I'm so glad you asked because I talk
about it every day.
I am so excited this one'sgonna be random, but I've been
planning it since I've moved outhere, finally going to greater
nevada uh ballpark really yes,I'm so excited to go to reno.
I love mountains, I love thedesert and there's a cute area
51 gas station between here andReno that I really want to stop

(11:09):
at and if I can catch a glimpseof Area 51, but apparently you
can't do that, they'll shoot youdown from a mile away or
something.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, don't do that, don't do that, don't do that.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
But I love desert drives.
I hear that it gets.
Oh, and there's a clown motelthat I really want to stop at.
I'm sorry it gets.
Oh, and there's a clown motelthat I really want to stop at.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
I'm sorry, come again .

Speaker 1 (11:28):
The clown motel in Tanopa Nevada.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
You should look it up A clown motel.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
It's like clown stuff everywhere.
It was on that ghost huntershow and so I really want to
stop there and I just I likeclowns and so I want to.
I'm so excited for thatballpark.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Okay, sure, sounds good.
That's pretty cool, though Forme.
I and I haven't planned it outyet altogether, but sometime
this year I want to.
I want to be able to accomplish, versus the corporate media one
I want to accomplish two tripsOne get to the Northwoods league
.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Ooh.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, I'm a big fan of that league, right.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
I like the hats.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Right.
So what we were talking abouton the Data Chronicle Sports
Show, we each picked a team thisyear right During their regular
season.
Whoever finished last duringthe season as far as win and win
and loss, right then we'll haveto do some kind of penalty or
something like that, right, um?
But like I've always wanted toget there and uh shout out to

(12:36):
kenosha kingfish, that is myteam, that uh, that I'm uh
repping this year, uh is kenosha.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
So I'm not in that northwoods fantasy thing that
y'all are doing, but I did picka team.
How did I pick?
I know Donnie was a sockpuppets.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Didn't you pick the hot tots?

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I don't remember.
I have to go back and watch.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Okay, I thought it was the hot tots that you picked
out, cause they they lookedlike a little tater tot, or was
it?
Or was it the, the, the, now, Ican't remember.
Now, I can't remember thecereal one no, it was the donut
one yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.
So we're going to look intothat in a minute here.

(13:17):
So but yeah, that one, and thenI want to make it.
This is going to sound funny, but I want to make it to
Portland mmm.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Maine or Pickles.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Pickles nice.
I want to make it to portlandum maine, or pickles, pickles,
nice I want to make it.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
They're fun.
They're another team thatbreaks all the rules, kind of
like the savannah bananas, thatleague yeah so, but they're,
they're, they're the og yeah, yeah, yeah they're the og did
you pick the battle creek, battle jacks it was the battle
jacks.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yes, yes, the battle jacks.
So, um, yeah, so that's, thoseare the trips that I'm looking
forward this year as far asbaseball is concerned, because,
like I want to, you want to, Iwant to go there and I want to
see, I want to see the portlandpickles.
Also, official league is there,so I want to see what you know.
Go get with them, and all thatbecause they have pretty awesome

(14:08):
hats.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Um, so, reno's eight hours for me.
How far is the closestnorthwood leagues team from you?

Speaker 2 (14:16):
oh girl, they're all in all.
I gotta fly there, every singleone of them really yeah, every
single one of them.
Oh, because they're up inmichigan, wisconsin, um,
illinois, um, so it, I have tominnesota, so I have to go up
there with I mean it's fine, Imean I'm good with that, I mean
I'll fly there, I mean, uh, youknow, give me a cheap flight and

(14:39):
then just go, you know one, allI need is a backpack damn you
know what I mean.
So I like that tradition though.
Yeah, like the trips, right, just cause we got to look
forward to something this year.
Yeah, as far as baseball isconcerned.
So you are a you are a TexasRangers fan, right?

(15:00):
That's your team.
Do you root for a nationalleague team?

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Not really.
I mean, I I have caught.
I have caught myself gettinggoosebumps when the padres do
really well.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
I was just gonna say the fiance might be hearing you.
You better, you better saypadres man, whatever they know,
hit us.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
So I'm not gonna.
And I was at that game too.
It was miserable that'sembarrassing yeah, so like
obviously when he's cheering,he's excited, he's crying, he's
on his knees, like I feelsomething.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, so Trust me, I'm, you know, thankfully, in
this house, darla and I wereboth guardians fans, so there's
no, like you know, teams that weother teams that we root for,
except for football.
Football is different, but herebaseball we root for the
Guardians.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Steelers Browns right .

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Mm-hmm Right, oh yeah .
So during the 24 season, the2024 season, what was your most
exciting sports moment?

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Oh, my gosh Easy, I got invited out to the Home run
derby, an all-star game, that'snice yeah I've never experienced
a home run derby and I'm kindof jealous, I'm not gonna lie so
it was my first one and it wasin my hometown, like it was.
It was perfect.
It was just so perfect likewhen I got that message and and

(16:28):
just the whole day was perfect, like I got to get there two
hours before gates open for both.
Actually, no, like yeah, liketwo hours before gates open
before both events.
I was given like a script ofhow I should create my content
because it was for, obviously, not just for, like it was work
too yeah and I got to meet stalecracker.
I don't know if you guys followhim on Instagram, but he's um

(16:50):
super funny.
He's in Louisiana cracker.
Yeah, he's a content creatorfor, like Cajun foods and
whatnot, and so I got to meethim.
That was really cool and I'mlooking right now 24 summer
classic for me was my highlight.
I'm even I don't.
For me was my highlight.
I'm sure there were other greatones, but that's the first one
that comes to mind.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
The first thing that came up was Stylecracker, when
all I did was put stale.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Yeah, he's awesome.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
That's hilarious.
Look at that.
He has 948,000 followers.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
That's money, dude.
That's like his famous line.
He's just so funny.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Okay, I'm following him.
So there you go.
I like it.
Um.
For me was when, during theplayoffs, big christmas hit the
walk-off home run um against theyankees, where he just knew it
right off the bat.
He just swung and just let goof the bat.
I'm like, oh man, that is likelegit power right there.

(17:46):
So that that was like it stilltook.
It just gave me goosebumpsagain.
That's how, yeah, I was.
Oh my God.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I forgot who was batting beforehim.
But didn't they purposely walkthem?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
To get to big Christmas and then, that
happened.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
He just hit a ding dong of a home run.
I mean upper deck andeverything.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
It was so cool.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
This year I'm making it to a Cleveland Guardians game
because that's an easy drive, that's like eight hours for me,
eight, nine hours, it's anine-hour drive.
And then they're doing a lot ofremodeling of that ballpark.
I don't know if you know it,but it's called Progressive
Field and they got progressiveall over the place.
I mean this thing like guys, that's enough.
Progressive signage that'senough.

(18:30):
Let's calm it down.
So there you go.
Okay, let's put our tinfoilhats for a second.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Easy, easy.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Done.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
All right.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
In your opinion?
It's you know, we're going tolook at the glass.
You know, and we're going tolook into the future, who are
going to be your top two teamsthis year?
Give me the script already, come on.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Well, we know who the National League team.
Is the Dodgers ready, come on?
Well, we know who the nationalleague team is the dodgers as
for american league, I've got mymoney on either the mets or the
astros well, mets are nationalleague, so I'm sorry, ash, I'm
sorry.
I don't know why I thought.
I don't know why I thoughtdifferent about that for a
minute.
Astrosros for sure.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Astros okay, Mets can make a run right now.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
I meant to have two answers for the National League
Mets or Dodgers.
Astros is my American Leagueteam.
Okay, I'm saying that like.
I mean I think them having thenumber one Dodger killer on
their team now, christian Walker, is huge.
I guess I'm just waiting to seewhat happens with Bregman for
me to feel fully confident aboutthat answer.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
You know, my issue with Alex Bregman is that he's
looking for way too big of acontract.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Right now.
Obviously he's a Scott Borisguy and Scott Boris thinks he
knows more than anybody else, soI just don't think he's going
to get that big of a contract inmy opinion.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Yeah, we'll see.
If I had to choose one NationalLeague team, obviously that
one's easy, and then Houston, they're just good.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
You're not picking the Yankees like everybody else.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
No.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
You think their time is come and gone.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
I mean, I guess I just wasn't that convinced yet.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
I got you.
Honestly, I wasn't convinced in24, and they've made it a lot
further than I thought they weregoing to make it.
Obviously, they should have notwon some of these games.
They played against Clevelandyeah, that's right, Donnie, I
said it.
But I was also happy becauseCleveland they were not expected

(20:51):
to win the Central.
So that goes there.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
All right, so this is for your question, because
you're the one that does this.
But as far as food items right, you got your.
I know you're prepping already.
You're starting doing yourresearch.
You're looking at, uh, theteams and all that.
What's the you know the teams?
What is it that you're lookingforward as, far, as, uh, you
know food items is concerned?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
so unfortunately, a lot of teams haven't done their
media days yet.
I'm surprised the astros didtheirs as early as they did um.
The rangers haven't done theirs, not even a lot of minor, or
actually I haven't seen anyminor league teams do theirs.
So I know that the orioles alsohave something exciting this

(21:39):
season.
We'll start start with them.
They've got I believe 11 itemsthat are going to be $5 or less
on their food menu, which isreally cool, because a lot of
the times you go to a ballparkand a hot dog is like $10, $11,
$12, $13.
And now they're going to havepopcorn, hot dog, pretzels, soda
, candy and a few more items allfor five bucks or less.

(22:03):
You could have, you could dolike a.
I would like to get there and doand try one of everything on
that five dollar menu for avideo just to show you how much
food you can get, for I guess 50bucks or, depending on the
number, I think it's like 10 or11, 50 or 55 bucks, which I know
it'd be a lot of food.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, and just, and that's interesting because, like
I know, you're looking into now, like you know, obviously as a
content creator, right?
You know, you and me we've beentalking about some of the
different things that we'replanning on doing this year and
I'm sure that you're looking atit from the standpoint of like
all right, so what am I going tolook at?
And I really like what you'resaying.
It's like, all right, what canyou get for X amount of money at

(22:43):
a minor league ballpark, or Xamount of money at a major
league ballpark, and I'm sureyou're going to be visiting
other sports, so I like thattake from you.
I think that'll be interestingbecause that's someone like
myself who I don't think aboutthose things you know about.
You know, I take my wife and mydaughter, so I I take my wife
and my daughter.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
So I was like, what can we get for amounts so that
way we don't break the bank?
Yeah, I will say that theHouston.
Astros, though, if we're talking, not $5, I just put out a video
.
Go and watch that.
Of all the new items thatthey're putting out this season,
the one thing that stood out tome on that menu was the Mac

(23:29):
Daddy Dog.
It's a footlong Angus beef hotdog topped with chopped brisket,
macaroni and cheese and crispydill pickles.
And when I get brisket, mygo-to is usually chicken or beef
macaroni and cheese and a largeside of pickles.
They're inventory.
I usually tell them give meyour inventory of pickles.
So I'm like that's perfect.
And I love hot dogs, so it'slike that's like everything I
love in one.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I love hot dogs.
That's my favorite item to getat a ballpark Hot dogs.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Hot dogs.
Uh, you know, I, I.
It's funny because I say hotdogs and a beer, but I actually
usually get hot dogs, and like aPepsi at a ballpark.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Oh, that's.
I mean, that's classic, youhave to yeah, right so so, and
then one more thing, too that Ihave seen to look forward to.
I did see at um gosh, americanfamily field brewers, that
there's going to be a new foodpark like section that they're
building and so that's comingthis year.

(24:22):
I think they're just making roomfor a bunch of like food trucks
and and vendors and stuff.
So I don't know how it's gonnawork.
If it'll be open throughout thewhole game, only after the game
, I'm not sure, but I'll have todo more research.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
But that's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool.
Are you look?
What's the what's your wishlist of someone that you're like
looking're looking to partnerwith this year as far as food
items and things like that.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Like a team.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Okay, let me shoot my shot real quick.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Yeah, hey, gary, we'll go ahead and tag him on
the podcast.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
If the Rangers are doing a media day this year, I'd
like to go out there If theAviators, chef Gary, if they're
doing a.
I don't know how common it isfor minor leagues, though, to do
a media day, but if it's a teamI've never worked with before,
I'd like to go out and do amedia day with the Dodgers,

(25:16):
because the Dodgers in last yearthey went off with their food.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Interesting.
I like that.
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Yeah, I mean it's the Dodgers' massive fan base, so
I'd like to tap into that andkind of show my page in that
world.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yeah, no, absolutely.
I mean that's something rightTo be honest with you.
Besides you, I don't see a lotof other people that are really
concentrating into that worldright, like I mean like
showcasing, like minor leagueball or and baseball altogether.
As far as like food items andand that's the biggest thing now
, it's like you know it's becomeyou know I've been saying this
for a while now it's likebaseball is an entertainment.

(25:57):
You know, world now, not justthe ball game, but also like
what happens around it and Idon't know if you remember our
interview with chef gary.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
He brought up a great point like you're not going to
get the same kind of crowd at aminor league game as you are in
a major league game, so you'vegot to find a way to like keep
that crowd bring people in, anda lot of that times it's through
the food, it's through the umthe opponent burgers that he
that you know minor league teamsdo now, and the helmet nachos
that minor league teams do now,and so absolutely.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I think you know the, the columbia fireflies, what
they do also.
They have a, they have a, likea lot of them are putting like
breweries there, like they havea barbecue place there as well,
like you know, like pit, so likethey're just doing more things
other than just baseball.
Right, they're looking at itall.
Right, what can we doyear-round at ballparks that

(26:50):
will keep fans coming over andover and over again?
yeah and and why?
Why not right I, why not dothings like that?
I mean, they got their ownpersonalized beers half the time
, these ball clubs.
Oh yeah, we're talking aboutsingle A, double A and triple A.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

(27:14):
This is getting me excitedalready for the season.
It's February right now and I'malready excited for it.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
It's some good stuff, for sure.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I'm looking forward to seeing more merchandise from
and from my point of view right.
Um, dad hats like I mean Ithink not just uh 47 new era is
coming up more than 920s.
Um, you've got um officialleague doing a lot of minor
league stuff as well.
Um, oc sports they're they'reputting a lot more merchandise.

(27:41):
So, like there's a lot of theseother teams, oh my god, 108
stitching and their uh t-shirtsfor, oh man, that's some that
there's.
Their t-shirts are one of themost comfortable teachers I've
ever worn oh nice 108.
I think we should try to getthem on the podcast.
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (27:56):
oh, yeah, one more thing I'm excited for hub city,
sp Spartanburgers, new teamRangers, the food theme that
they've got going on.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
So 108.
So it's funny you say thatbecause you know the story about
me and Spartanburgers, right?

Speaker 1 (28:19):
I saw they responded to you.
They did so the Spartanburgers, which is?
I mean, listen, I love theSpartanburgers?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
right, I saw they responded to you.
They did.
So.
The Spartanburgers, which is?
I mean, listen, I love theSpartanburgers, but the very
first one.
I bought a hat and I wasexpecting to get it in the mail
and I never got it, and thencome to find out the team folded
.
So this is, like, technically, the second iteration of that
name in that same area wow yeah,I think it'll take off this

(28:45):
year.
I'm really excited well, it'saffiliated right, so it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
You know it has a little bit more backing yeah,
I'm excited that that benjaminhill article with um tyson
jeffers was a really fun, funread yeah, we gotta get him on
too as well.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Oh, I know you would probably die, yeah, but you're
like yeah, let's do it anywayit'll be worth it so little did
she know that I actually wasworking on getting ben hill on

like I mean he showcases, likeyou know, has the designated
eaters and stuff like that.
I'm surprised you have not beenpart of that, you know so one
of my best friends, chuck hugeel paso fan.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
He he was Benjamin Hill's designated eater.
I know he got the shirt and Iwas like so jealous, but
Benjamin Hill was at theAviators game in 2019 and I
completely missed it.
I don't know how I missed thatpost.
