SPEAKER_05 (00:33):
Um, Patrick, as you could tell from the reaction,
that was not me that started theshow.

SPEAKER_02 (00:38):
Honestly, I blame myself.

SPEAKER_05 (00:40):
You should.

SPEAKER_04 (00:41):
I kept my mouth shut.
I knew he was trying to baitsomebody and to keep talking,
and then all of a sudden youstarted.
I'm like, he gotcha.

SPEAKER_03 (00:49):
He doesn't host the show, but by gosh, he will he he
will start the show, you know.

SPEAKER_09 (00:54):
Whenever the hell I want to.

SPEAKER_03 (00:56):
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.

SPEAKER_04 (00:58):
So I blame myself.
I should have known better.
If you'd have seen, I lookedover to see what the clock's in,
I was like, it's 8 30, and Ijust like not saying a word.

SPEAKER_03 (01:05):
I was engaged in conversation with my only friend
on here, Virgil.
Hello, Virgil.

SPEAKER_05 (01:11):
Hello, Patrick.
How are you doing?
I couldn't help myself.
So, everybody, welcome totonight's episode of the
Breakeven Sports Show.
And yes, Polly, I actually uhactually Ed started at this time
because if I started it, wewouldn't be live right now, most
likely.

SPEAKER_01 (01:26):
Probably not.

SPEAKER_05 (01:27):
Welcome to the Break Even Sports Show, uh, where we
talk about the things that we donot talk about on the Tuesday
and Thursday sports show.
So that's mostly uh gonna beFCS.
We've got some soccer talk, butwe got international break
soccer talk, and um, we're gonnabe awing a few World Cup
qualifying games to talk aboutbecause we have a possible, we
have possible two new debutantescoming uh in tomorrow's games in

(01:49):
the CONCACAF region.
We're looking forward to go overthat.
We may have some hockey becauseum Nashville and Pittsburgh had
the international series over inScandinavia or where Nashville
lost both games.
So great for that.
Ed may have some F1.
We're not sure yet, we'll findout.
As always, I am your host, number 13 and fancy football,
but number one in your hearts.

(02:12):
Virgil the producer, and I amwith, as always, Patrick,
Donnie, and Ed.
How are you guys doing tonight?

SPEAKER_09 (02:18):
Living the dream, baby.

SPEAKER_03 (02:19):
Doing great football aside, doing well.
Oh, look, Ed's burner's here.
What's up, Jolly?
What's up, Jolly?

SPEAKER_05 (02:26):
You see, I like I like how the Twitch people were
just chomping at the bit, waiting to show up after what
happened last week.

SPEAKER_09 (02:32):
So I have no idea what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_04 (02:35):
They were looking for another train wreck.

SPEAKER_09 (02:38):
Yeah, I I have no control of this show.
You guys already told you guysthis is not my show.

SPEAKER_03 (02:43):
You just don't start it or anything.

SPEAKER_09 (02:45):
Well, I mean, listen, it it was perfect
because you kept talking, andI'm like, here we go.
And you know I got that triggerfor you when it comes to things
like that.
So I'm like, there it is.

SPEAKER_05 (02:55):
Yeah, it's not his show, but he gets to start it.

SPEAKER_03 (02:58):
Yeah, apparently.
Apparently.
Um, like this morning fiveminutes talking about Clemson.

SPEAKER_09 (03:06):
Uh you know what?
Uh listen, Clemson is Clemson.

SPEAKER_04 (03:09):
There was not a lot else going on.
I mean, uh MLS is over, the USLis over for Carolina Sports.

SPEAKER_03 (03:16):
So I think it's a little disgusting when South
Carolina State wins and youdon't even freaking mention it.
But but but uh but but the wholething's about Clemson.
It's kind of disgusting.

SPEAKER_04 (03:25):
I mentioned South Carolina State and Ferman.

SPEAKER_09 (03:27):
He did.
He did, he did.
Also, the the you were the onewho instigated the conversation
when it comes to Clemsonfootball, and we just have to go
there.

SPEAKER_05 (03:37):
Well, I I are you telling me that Patrick is an
instigator?
I am shocked by this, right?
Exactly.

SPEAKER_03 (03:42):
I'm shocked, I'm hurt.

SPEAKER_08 (03:44):
I mean, it may be true, but I'm shocked, I'm hurt.
Yeah, yeah, no, absolutely.

SPEAKER_04 (03:49):
He just walks by throwing Molotov cocktails all
all along the chat, you know, fire Dabo kind of thing.

SPEAKER_03 (03:57):
Okay, manishevets.

SPEAKER_09 (03:58):
Yeah, uh-huh.
He's talking about firing Daboand then he's instigating, and
you know Donnie was like, youknow, he just took that bait and
ran with it.

SPEAKER_03 (04:06):
No, what I didn't say is how Dabo paid off the
refs this weekend to win.
Um, you know, like that was Imean, I mean Tell me how you
really feel about that, Donnie.

SPEAKER_04 (04:20):
The refs didn't have anything to do with it.
It was the kickers that didn'tmake the kicks.

SPEAKER_03 (04:24):
Oh, I'm sorry.
Paying off kickers, I'm sorry.
I I mean all that cash that youguys have over at Clemson, you
know, someone had to someone hadto pay him.
Right, exactly.

SPEAKER_06 (04:35):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (04:36):
Uh-oh.
We're gonna talk about howChelsea is going to lose this
weekend.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Big Chew Poppy.

SPEAKER_04 (04:45):
So uh so Chew Poppy's already on he's already
on your bad list there becausehe thinks uh Chelsea's gonna
lose, huh?

SPEAKER_03 (04:52):
Yeah.
Um Ed will be back.
Please stay with us.

SPEAKER_04 (05:00):
Yeah, he he went to check on something, he said.
Yeah, we'll probably saytomorrow.

SPEAKER_05 (05:04):
Polly, stay tuned for tomorrow because I have a um
let's just say I have a poem, maybe even an epic to read of
the return of the rise of theashes of Mason Rudolph.

SPEAKER_03 (05:16):
Yeah, Ed Jolly was a Jolly was getting scared about
where you were.
So no, no, I'm here, baby.
We told him that you're gonna beokay.

SPEAKER_09 (05:24):
You know what the problem is, I had to move my
light that's like it was here,so it was casting a shadow.
And you know what I'm saying?
I gotta be doing that.

SPEAKER_03 (05:33):
Yeah, Jolly was uh he said he tried to stay awake
and then you came back and yousaid I'm awake.
So we do, baby.

SPEAKER_05 (05:40):
So uh normally we start with soccer talk, but
considering the internationalbreak, um, we don't we can't
really harp on our teams thisweek.
But I also want to focus on FCSfirst because this is the last
regular week for um FCS season.

(06:02):
And while we go over some of thegames that happened last week,
because there's quite a few I dowant to talk about.
Uh, I don't know if you guyslooked at the schedule this
week.
There's gonna be a lot, a lot ofgood games to talk about.
But before we talk about thosegames, we need to talk about um
some of the FCS games thathappened last week.
And we're gonna start over inBrookings, um, South Dakota.

SPEAKER_04 (06:26):
We saw your comment there, uh, Kareem.
We'll we'll get to soccer in alittle bit.

SPEAKER_09 (06:31):
Oh, don't you don't you uh don't you wear.
We will be talking our soccerhere in a minute.

SPEAKER_05 (06:36):
So with the so the question that I have, we've got
we've got a lot of bubble teamskind of going on.
Bubble's actually kind ofsmaller than usual this time,
although there is a possibilityof a three-bid Ivy League, which
sounds amazing when you thinkabout it.
South Dakota State at thebeginning of the season was a

(07:01):
sure, maybe a shoe-win for theplayoff.
Uh definitely going to be amaybe probably in the top four
seeds, staying around with uhNorth Dakota State.
After the Indiana State game, they have completely
free-fallen.
They have lost to South Dakota, and then they have now just lost
to Illinois State, sharing uptheir place in the playoffs.

(07:26):
So I was gonna flat out ask you,is South Dakota State gonna make
the playoffs at this point?

SPEAKER_09 (07:32):
I still think they they are.
I just don't know if it's gonnabe well, obviously, it's not
gonna be one of those higherseats than we that we were
expecting them to be, right?
Because we, you know, obviouslyyou and me were having this
conversation.
It's like we thought that SouthDakota State was gonna be one of
those top four teams that theywere gonna make it at the end of
the year.
They were like a shoe-in, youlike you said, and all of a

(07:54):
sudden, you know, you you youlose two in a row.
Now you're things are lookingkind of kind of grim there for
you.
Illinois state, you know, again, two in a row already for them.
And man, I'm I'm a little I'm alittle nervous, I'm not gonna
lie.

SPEAKER_04 (08:12):
I mean they've only got North Dakota left.
So if they win that game, thatwill help their cause.
I don't know if it gets them allthe way into the top 16 or not.

SPEAKER_05 (08:23):
See, I don't know about six sixteen.
I mean, body of work for themanything.
They play in the MissouriValley, which is one of the
bigger one of the strongest, youknow, conference conferences.
So the body of work willprobably get them in.
I don't know.

SPEAKER_09 (08:35):
There'll just be a lower seat for sure.

SPEAKER_05 (08:38):
Well, while let me research who the top tick, let
me see if we can find someprojections right now.
On who the top same on the top16 seeds are right now.

SPEAKER_09 (08:49):
Yeah, all I know is uh Youngstown State, baby.
Youngstown state, you know, theyhas a couple losses.
Obviously, they're seven andfour right now, but uh also part
of the Missouri Valley, youknow, conference.
And they they put it togetheragainst uh they've had a nice

(09:10):
little win against uh IndianaState.
So oh hell, oh hey, goodmorning, Terry.
Good morning.

SPEAKER_04 (09:18):
Man, Terry joined us first thing this morning, and
he's catching the uh thenightcap tonight.
So all right, great, glad tohave you, Terry.

SPEAKER_03 (09:27):
I didn't join you.
I didn't join you or anythingthis morning, Donnie.

SPEAKER_09 (09:30):
Yeah, we already talked about you this morning
being an instigator.

SPEAKER_03 (09:34):
Calm down.

SPEAKER_04 (09:35):
You and and you kind of had to be here tonight
anyway.
He didn't.
I kind of I kind of had to be.
Yeah, yeah, you're you're one ofthe hosts.

SPEAKER_08 (09:41):
You're one of the co-hosts, brother.
What do you think we're bothwithout any controls?

SPEAKER_09 (09:47):
Well, see that you got out of hand, and then we had
to take some of those away.

SPEAKER_08 (09:51):
Okay, yeah, yeah.
You know, yeah, I believe that.

SPEAKER_09 (09:54):
Uh well, you know, get out of hand.
Uh I should be where see thatsee what is instigating.

SPEAKER_08 (10:06):
I'm here being present.
Uh-huh.
Yeah, I'm just here so I don'tget fined.
I'm just here so I won't getfined.
Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_09 (10:14):
Here's the thing.
Um, by the way, going back to uhthis talk, uh producer, Illinois
State scored 28 points right offthe rip, and they only scored
one more point one moretouchdown in the second quarter.
They didn't do anything else, sothey had their chances.
South Dakota State had theirchances, it's just they had one
really bad quarter, and it justjust became Yeah, but I mean

(10:36):
that's all they needed.

SPEAKER_03 (10:37):
That's all they needed.
I think Illinois State did youthink they maybe took their foot
off the gas a little bit whenthey when they got 28?
Yes, I think they kind ofcoasted a little bit after that,
and then yeah, I I agree withthat.

SPEAKER_05 (10:48):
That that has been a problem with Illinois State in
the past.
Um, with they will start strongin a game, like the the UNA
game.
I always go back to they had avery short amount of a lead in
that and UNA came back.
And so I don't know if it's amatter of just I can't say it's
playing down with theircompetition because I don't
think South Dakota State'sreally a down.

SPEAKER_09 (11:06):
They're not a downer competition now played too.

SPEAKER_05 (11:09):
But yeah, I'm kinda I don't know if that's gonna be
prompted, but yet they have areally good offense.
The uh quarterback Rittenhouseis probably one of the better
quarterbacks in the FCS.
So yeah, I'm kind of I'm notsurprised by the score.

SPEAKER_07 (11:26):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (11:26):
At all.
At all.
Like I said, I think I pickedthem to win that game.

SPEAKER_07 (11:30):
But um I think you had Illinois State.

SPEAKER_05 (11:34):
Yeah, I was kind of expecting you know a little bit
more fight on South Dakota Statebefore the end of the game
because it looks like they winthe panic mode, really, at the
end of that one.
And Terry, we will have Terry,we'll have football after FCS
considering it's the last fullweek of FCS games to go over
real quick.

SPEAKER_09 (11:51):
So it's God Almighty, where I'm excited for
some some uh you know, some FCSfootball playoff.
So it's the top 16 that make theplayoff?

SPEAKER_05 (12:00):
No, the top 16 are seeded.
So there you have 16 nationalseeds, and then top eight of
those get a bye, and then youhave eight other at-larges.
So right now, and this is theeight conference champions.

SPEAKER_03 (12:13):
So the eight conference champions and then
eight at large.

SPEAKER_05 (12:15):
Yes.

SPEAKER_03 (12:16):
Okay.

SPEAKER_05 (12:17):
So here are the current um, let me see.
This is let's see, this is theright one.
Okay, yeah.
Here's the current top eightseeds, and this is off of a uh
this is off of an FCSbracketology site that I kind
of, you know, they'll take yourgrain of salt with it, but it
they've been pretty accuratebefore.
So number one is North DakotaState, number two is Montana,
number three is Montana State, number four is Lehigh, five is

(12:40):
Carleton State, six, TennesseeTech, seven, Rhode Island,
eight, Mercer.

SPEAKER_03 (12:47):
Strong.

SPEAKER_05 (12:48):
So those are your those are your buys.

SPEAKER_03 (12:50):
I was gonna say, so the coaches poll has Mercer at
six.

SPEAKER_05 (12:54):
I mean the coaches poll is so much of a better
poll, really, if you think aboutit.

SPEAKER_03 (12:58):
Well, and then so you were right.
So they seem to be aligned up upthrough five.
So North Dakota State, Montana,Montana State, Lehigh, Tarleton
State, and then the coaches pollhas Mercer at six, Villanova at
seven, and Tennessee Tech ateight.

SPEAKER_05 (13:15):
So Villanova, while the better team, I think Rhode
Island has the advantage to winthe conference over them.

SPEAKER_03 (13:21):
Okay, okay.
Yeah, I wasn't looking at the uhseeds, but I but I'm just I'm
going off the top eight in theuh coaches poll.

SPEAKER_05 (13:30):
So the other side of that.
Hold on.
This was the wrong time for myscreen, the freeze.
Great.
There we go.
So the other 16 cities, numbernine is Monmouth, number 10,
Villanova, number 11, IllinoisState, 12, Harvard, 13, the
Cowards, 14, South Dakota, 15,Adelaide Christian, and 16,

(13:51):
Stephen F.
Austin.

SPEAKER_09 (13:53):
Who are the cowards?

SPEAKER_05 (13:54):
You know who the cowards are.
I refuse to say their name.

SPEAKER_08 (13:57):
UC Dunces.

SPEAKER_05 (13:59):
You know, you know, I was just saying, if Mercer
wins that game, they're not aneight seed.
They're probably that probably asix or a five.
And UC Duncer.

SPEAKER_09 (14:08):
I was just gonna say they go they go a lot higher
than that.

SPEAKER_05 (14:11):
So see, this is this is where this is where that game
kind of comes in because UCDavis is sitting on the seed
line, and maybe if they losethat game, they wouldn't be.

SPEAKER_04 (14:20):
Yeah, and and and it shows South Dakota State, you
know, opening with Stephen F.
Austin.
So, I mean, they're they'regonna get in.
It's just they got a longer roadto hoe.

SPEAKER_09 (14:29):
That's what they definitely will have, they'll be
traveling to every every playoffgame.

SPEAKER_04 (14:35):
Well, and they'll also, at least according to the
way it is now, if I'm looking atsomething off of the exact same
thing you're looking at, uhVirgil College Sports
Madness.com, FCS Practology.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, even if they win thatgame, then they've got North
Dakota State as the number oneseed.
So see how far they go at thispoint.

SPEAKER_09 (14:55):
They'll be traveling, whether or whatever
it is.
At this point, they're not gonnahave any home games.
So that's the one disadvantagethat they have is that because
of the way that they've lost thelast two games, they just gave
up their home field advantage atthat point.

SPEAKER_03 (15:09):
So is there no way back for West Georgia to make to
get one of the eight-at-largebids?

SPEAKER_05 (15:14):
Um hate to break it to you.
I don't think so.
Here are your current bubbleteams, here are your current
teams that are listed as yourunseated.
So, as Donnie mentioned, SouthDakota State.
And then we would have CentralConnecticut, who would play
against Monmouth.
We would have northern Arizonawho would play Hartford, uh,
North Dakota would play theCowards, Drake would play South

(15:34):
Dakota, Lamar would play uhIllinois State.
I'm circling this game if ithappens.
Villanova plays Youngstown Stateand at Southeastern Louisiana.
I just got excited.

SPEAKER_03 (15:49):
See, now this is where I have a problem.
Like, how can South Dakota Statebe seven and four and still be
have a chance at the playoffswhen West Georgia are eight and
three?

SPEAKER_09 (15:59):
Strength of schedule?

SPEAKER_05 (16:00):
Strength of schedule.
That's where it goes back tostrength of schedule.

SPEAKER_03 (16:03):
West Georgia played a hard schedule.

SPEAKER_09 (16:05):
West Georgia hasn't played anything.

SPEAKER_03 (16:07):
Ooh, yes, they have.

SPEAKER_04 (16:09):
And they're done.
They can't even do anything elsethis week to uh sway anything.
They just gotta have somebody.

SPEAKER_03 (16:19):
Boo.

SPEAKER_01 (16:21):
He doesn't want to hear it.
He does not want to hear it.
I don't want to hear from a fiveand five team.

SPEAKER_05 (16:28):
I I'm sorry.
I'm watching uh Raw right now,and Cam Scadabo is face-to-face
with Dominic Mysterio.
I just wanted to pass thatalong, Patrick.

SPEAKER_03 (16:36):
Wait a minute.
Cam Scadaboo's on Raw?

SPEAKER_05 (16:38):
Cam Scadaboo is on Raw right now.
He has pushed JD McDonough.
Okay, I'm officially invested inthis, so I'm gonna leave for the
evening.
I will talk to you guys later.
Yeah.
Well, I said just his angle, hishead's okay.
So that is what the currentbracket is.
I really can't find a trust, buta trusty bubble list on who is

(17:01):
still out there.
I know Yale and Dartmouth aretwo teams that are being talked
about.
And Yale does play Harvard thisweek, so that can make a big
difference there.
So that's that's where we'restanding here.
Um, we still have some prettybig games to talk about this
week, including one of myfavorite rivalry names this week

(17:21):
with Montana, Montana StateBrawl of the Wild.

SPEAKER_03 (17:26):
What's it called?

SPEAKER_05 (17:27):
Brawl of the Wild.
I like that.

SPEAKER_03 (17:31):
Such a good, good game.
I heard the Montana-MontanaState game was up for college
game day to go to, but theyultimately didn't it ultimately
was not selected because they'regoing back to Eugene to watch
USC in Oregon, which I don'tunderstand.
But it would have been so coolto see them go to Montana to go.
Would they be in Bozeman or inMissoula?

SPEAKER_05 (17:52):
See, I had that list, I had that up and then I
closed it because I'm going togo.

SPEAKER_03 (17:56):
Hang on, I'll tell you, it's uh I know it's one of
the two.

SPEAKER_05 (18:00):
It is in Missouri.
It's in Missoula.

SPEAKER_03 (18:08):
Yeah.
And they could see a moose likeyou know, walking, you know,
trotting downtown, but yet theythey decide haven't they already
been in Eugene at Eugene thisseason?
And then they were going back.

SPEAKER_05 (18:20):
They were there for were they there for Indiana,
Oregon?

SPEAKER_03 (18:23):
I want to say they were.
I think they were.
So now Game Day is going back toEugene for a second time, but
you could have gone to Montanafrom Montana, Montana State.

SPEAKER_05 (18:33):
It's almost like they don't like college
football.
Something to ponder run ontomorrow's show.
So let's let's go for some ofthese games.

SPEAKER_03 (18:42):
That's something Christian Ponder.

SPEAKER_05 (18:45):
We're not talking about Christian Ponder.
No, this is a Christian Ponderfree.
So let's talk about some of theuh games that went on last week.
And guys, the Miac three-way tieis no longer possible because
South Carolina State beat NorthCarolina State in a pretty good

(19:06):
game, probably one of the bettergames of the weekend.

SPEAKER_04 (19:08):
North Carolina Central.

SPEAKER_05 (19:10):
What I said.

SPEAKER_04 (19:11):
You said North Carolina State.

SPEAKER_05 (19:12):
Oh, they probably beat them too.
North Carolina would becausethey would have sucks, dude.
Yes, sir.
North Carolina Central uh losesto South Carolina.

SPEAKER_08 (19:22):
Texas.
I know.
Who knows?
Tomorrow show.

SPEAKER_05 (19:28):
So that means that next week's game, and we will be
picking this one too, SouthCarolina State goes.
Let me see.
Yes, goes to Delaware State.
Both teams are 4-0.
Both teams are 8-3.
So the celebration bowl will beon the line for this game.

SPEAKER_09 (19:51):
I got Delaware State on that one as of right now.
Let me think about it a littlebit more.
Man, that disrespected SouthCarolina State.
First this morning, now tonight.
South Carolina State.
There's no disrespect.
None whatsoever.

SPEAKER_05 (20:02):
So the question for South Carolina State is can they
do it on a partly cloudy day inDover?

SPEAKER_03 (20:08):
Ooh.
Could they do it on a rainy dayin Stoke?

SPEAKER_05 (20:12):
I think they could, actually.

SPEAKER_03 (20:13):
I think they could.

SPEAKER_05 (20:14):
They did it on a rainy day at Durham.
I think they can do it on arainy day in Stoke.

unknown (20:18):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (20:18):
What do you think, Donnie?
Can they do it on a rainy day inStoke?

SPEAKER_04 (20:21):
I think they can do it anytime, anywhere, anyplace,
any day.

SPEAKER_03 (20:24):
About time you throw some respect their way.
I dig it.
Thank you.

SPEAKER_04 (20:28):
Throw respect South Carolina State's way.
What?
I love South Carolina State.

SPEAKER_03 (20:33):
If you say so.
I got friends and family thathave gone there.
Man, finally.
Finally, some respect.
It only took you uh, you know, Iwon't even get into it.

SPEAKER_05 (20:42):
Where is South Carolina State in respect to
you?

SPEAKER_04 (20:45):
Uh it's in Orangeburg.
It uh from my house, I could beat the campus in less than an
hour.

SPEAKER_03 (20:51):
That's not bad.
Not bad at all.
Is that with police protectionor like, you know Well, I mean
it is an Orangeburg.

SPEAKER_04 (21:00):
Well I was gonna say, since you travel like, you
know, with security every no, Imean not not for travel
purposes, but uh might have tobe careful down there at night.

SPEAKER_03 (21:09):
So South Carolina, listen, South Carolina State
plays some good football.

SPEAKER_04 (21:13):
They do, and and I'm not trying to bad bad mouth
Orangeburg, but there are someissues with Orangeburg.
Let's just leave it at that.
What?
But South Carolina State is uhit's it's a a really nice they
got a great stadium.
I've dri I I worked inOrangeburg for a year, many
years ago in my previous career, and I drove past that stadium

(21:35):
all the time.
It's a beautiful little stadium.

SPEAKER_03 (21:37):
It is a nice stadium.

SPEAKER_04 (21:38):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (21:39):
I've actually been to Orangeburg.

SPEAKER_05 (21:44):
I haven't been there yet.
I'll probably uh make a goalthere.

SPEAKER_03 (21:48):
Listen, I've been to one or two places despite what
Brock thinks.

SPEAKER_05 (21:53):
Um other notable games, Indiana State loses to
Youngstown State 48-29, sothey're gonna be setting
themselves up to be in thetournament soon.
Uh North Dakota 35, Murray State17.
You know, first half I reallythought Murray State may have
would have been able to surpriseNorth Dakota there, but nope, in
the end it all fell apartbecause really, I mean, really,

(22:14):
really the halftime score was9-7, Murray State.

SPEAKER_09 (22:18):
The fact that I was a little nervous when I did see
that that score and I'm like,oh, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03 (22:23):
This is listen, I'm grateful to Murray State.
They're the only reason that myGeorgia State Panthers have a
win this season.
So shout out to Murray State.

SPEAKER_04 (22:30):
Well, I thought St.
Francis might get their firstwin against Long Island, and no,
they lost 10-3.

SPEAKER_03 (22:36):
It's like too many ITs.

SPEAKER_04 (22:38):
And that was three, it was three to three going into
the fourth quarter.
So yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (22:43):
Now, though we talked about a bubble still
hanging in there, there was abubble that was popped, in my
opinion, this week, and that isEast Tennessee State going into
Western Carolina and beatingthem.
Western Carolina was a popularbubble team, in my opinion.
Um, I thought they really had agood chance that they won that
game, but now it was one bit onleague with Mercer.

SPEAKER_03 (23:04):
I think Mercer, I think Mercer was still living in
their was still living rent-freein their heads from that from
the week before.

SPEAKER_05 (23:10):
I mean, that's that's such a draining loss,
especially to spend because Imean the offense played well.
Like you can't say the offensewas bad, you can't say it was
just Mercer was better.

SPEAKER_03 (23:22):
But if you think about it, this is actually UC
Davis' fault.

SPEAKER_05 (23:26):
This 100% is UC Davis' fault.

SPEAKER_03 (23:28):
Yeah, because Mercer was PO'd, right?
That they didn't need to playbecause of the cowards, and they
took it out on Western Carolina.
So, really, if you think aboutit.
Tell me how you really feel.
This is UC Davis' fault.

SPEAKER_05 (23:43):
Yes, uh, Phil, we did flip the FCS first,
considering this is the lastfull week for FCS and a lot of
these uh a lot of great rivalrygames and bubble games, and
soccer was on internationalbreak.
So we will get back to soccer.
But speaking of soccer, realquick, um, there is something
that we have to say, I have tosay real quick for Phil.
And that is a congratulations toFurman Soccer for not only

(24:03):
winning the Sokon final thisweekend, but also getting a
first round bye in thetournament.

SPEAKER_09 (24:09):
Go paladin well done.
All right, okay, go paladin.
All right, do you?

SPEAKER_05 (24:15):
Yeah, I saw that in my um my um Furman Furman always
has a good soccer team.
Yeah, I saw that.

SPEAKER_09 (24:21):
Now, did you have that in your bingo card?

SPEAKER_05 (24:25):
What?
Furman soccer?

SPEAKER_09 (24:27):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (24:27):
Because I do when I saw it come across my um my
feed, I made a note of it.
I was like, I need to bring thisup on Monday.

SPEAKER_08 (24:36):
I like it.
I like it.
I can dig it.
You know, Virgil bringing thestuff to the people, you know?
It's what the people want.

SPEAKER_05 (24:42):
Yeah.
Let's see.
Uh Harvard uh had a very closeone against Penn.

SPEAKER_04 (24:50):
And a little Phil's Phil's F you all the time.
That's a good idea.

SPEAKER_09 (24:54):
It really is.
I mean, Furman University tohave listen, I I need I need an
FU all the time t-shirt orsomething like at this point,
because that's just great stuff.
You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03 (25:04):
That is.
Um probably that is somethingthat Chelsea would do, but we're
not gonna let our former player,Scott Parker, uh, beat us this
weekend.
We good.

SPEAKER_05 (25:18):
I mean, if you get a red card, you probably will.

SPEAKER_03 (25:21):
We might get two red cards, okay?
Because that's how we do things.

SPEAKER_05 (25:26):
I'm just saying, I'm I'm used to seeing that little
red square, right rectangle, whenever I look up Chelsea score
lines.

SPEAKER_03 (25:32):
Yeah, I I hate to tell you that I am too.

SPEAKER_08 (25:35):
I'll be quiet.
Uh it'll it'll be quiet oncampus doing football.

SPEAKER_09 (25:42):
When is this football selection show?
Because that would be cool tosee.

SPEAKER_04 (25:45):
Tuesday nights.
Oh, you're talking about for theFCS?
For the FCS, for the bio.
I don't know about the FCS, I'msorry.

SPEAKER_05 (25:54):
Uh the selection show will be Sunday, November
23rd.

SPEAKER_03 (25:57):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (25:58):
At 11 a.m.
on ESPNU.

SPEAKER_03 (26:01):
Zach, no, we have Zach.
No, no, we have not.
We have not talked about the MLSschedule changes yet.
Um, we started off talking aboutFCS football.
Um, big two poppy.
I don't know what your campaignis against Chelsea, but we might
be getting a front of shirtsponsor, so I don't even want to
hear it.

SPEAKER_05 (26:21):
Finally, uh you're talk bad about Bayern Munich.
I just realized that.

SPEAKER_02 (26:26):
You what?

SPEAKER_05 (26:27):
He's using the same, you're using the same excuses
that you've used to talk aboutBayern Munich about relying on
expensive signings.

SPEAKER_03 (26:34):
Well, that's not me saying it, that's Big Chew Poppy
saying it.

SPEAKER_05 (26:37):
I know, but you've said that for about Bayern
Munich before.

SPEAKER_03 (26:40):
Relying on expensive signings?
Oh, yeah.
Well, no, my my problem withBayern is that they try to get
everyone cheap.
They want the top superstars, but they don't want to pay the
prices.
Here we go.

SPEAKER_09 (26:51):
Here we go.

SPEAKER_03 (26:52):
Big Chew Poppy saying that Arsenal's that
you're gonna beat Arsenal?
Yeah, in what world?

SPEAKER_09 (26:58):
Here we go again.

SPEAKER_05 (27:01):
So going back to um FCS before this gets off the
rails with Patrick Banger, uhMonday Patrick's already coming
out.
Uh Harvard had a close oneagainst him 45, 45-43.
And do you know how Harvard wonthis game?
Or what helped Harvard win thisgame?
A study guide?
A kicking game helped Harvardwin this game.

SPEAKER_03 (29:23):
Well, they just need they they just need to do away
with kicking because it'sterrible.
Terrible.

SPEAKER_05 (29:28):
I'm always a fan of I don't know.
I'm just saying kicking gameshere to stay.
Nobody's gonna be a good thing.

SPEAKER_03 (29:32):
Come on, winner guys, no one can even make a
25-yard field goal anymore.
It's terrible.

SPEAKER_04 (29:37):
Well, they they probably have uh engineers ever
on the sidelines, like workingout all the coordinates and the
angles and everything, sothey're they're probably pretty
good at it.

SPEAKER_03 (29:45):
Uh uh Bitchu Poppy.
How is Tottenham 17th?

SPEAKER_09 (29:51):
Here we go.

SPEAKER_03 (29:51):
See, I knew I just couldn't he couldn't do it.
That couldn't be a more thatcouldn't be more incorrect.

SPEAKER_09 (30:01):
How in the world is 17th?
You couldn't do it.
You couldn't just just like nottake the bait.
Just leave my team alone.
The team, your team, my team hasnot done it.
I only talked to your boy BigChew Poppy about putt about Big,
you be yep, you'll be all right, bro.
Don't worry about it, big.
You good, you're good.
It's this hater over here whokeeps talking crap about uh
every other thing.

SPEAKER_03 (30:26):
By the way, Tottenham's spending money too,
by the way.
I mean, you know, Donnie wastelling me about how they signed
Chavi Simmons, so I don't needyou know, I don't want to hear
you know he was he was goingover all the details for me
about all the money thatTottenham spent, and I was like,
Thank you, Donnie.
Thanks for keeping me, thanksfor keeping me.

(30:46):
Tottenham often finishes aboveArsenal on the table in recent
years.
Uh, are you talking about I amnot a I do not like Arsenal
whatsoever, but are you talkingabout the last three?
Because you sure as heck haven'tdone the last three.

SPEAKER_09 (30:57):
Here we go again.
Why are you gonna just leaveleave Tottenham alone, dude?

SPEAKER_03 (31:01):
Listen, I'm a Chelsea supporter.
I I I have to talk about how howmid how mid Tottenham is.
Patrick, does that make you feelbetter about yourself that your
team sucks too?

SPEAKER_05 (31:10):
Patrick, Patrick, what's the first rule on the
internet?

SPEAKER_08 (31:17):
You can't let the the the reactionary don't read
the comments.

SPEAKER_03 (31:22):
Oh yeah, yeah, that's a good point.
Guys, let's just relax.
Ed Ed, thank you for puttingthank you for using your burner
to bring peace to this.
You're welcome to this.

SPEAKER_09 (31:33):
I I just don't know why you you're letting it get to
you because I didn't doanything, so you know.

SPEAKER_05 (31:38):
Yes, and that Ed never loses his cool.
That comment.

SPEAKER_03 (31:41):
No, he never does.

SPEAKER_09 (31:42):
No, I I never do such a thing.
You know that.
No, no.

SPEAKER_04 (31:47):
I love I love that Jolly's like, y'all chill out,
and then drops the drops alittle firecracker as he walks
away.

SPEAKER_07 (31:54):
Yeah, he just drops the match and the gasoline and
walks away like nothing to seehere.

SPEAKER_03 (31:59):
Uh by the is Jolly Jolly, are you California based?

SPEAKER_04 (32:03):
Yeah, I think he's LA.

SPEAKER_03 (32:04):
Uh in all seriousness, Jolly, I hope
you're staying safe with thatmudslide and everything out
there in Cali.
Um with all the rain andeverything else.
Hope you're keeping keepingy'all my prayers.
Hope you're staying safe.

SPEAKER_04 (32:16):
Yeah, him and Polly are not.

SPEAKER_09 (32:22):
In all seriousness, just you know seriousness, but
then then well now that he saysthey're all seriousness,
Tottenham still sucks.
Hey, you said it, not me.

SPEAKER_05 (32:32):
Yep, you said it.
We're gonna clip that that saidthat.

SPEAKER_09 (32:35):
Yep.
So back to the you know speakingof, I'm looking at Tottenham and
hats right about now.
I'm fine, I still get home.

SPEAKER_03 (32:44):
Well, good.
That's good.

SPEAKER_05 (32:45):
That's good.

SPEAKER_03 (32:45):
Well, probably keep staying safe, my man.

SPEAKER_05 (32:49):
So back to the scheduled comment that the
schedule that I had before thatgot off-railed again.
I don't know track.
Um it just I know I don't Idon't know.
Did you guys see the fiveovertime gang between Southern
Illinois and South Dakota?

SPEAKER_01 (33:05):
That I did not know.
I saw the score thanks to thanksto Donnie.

SPEAKER_05 (33:11):
So I did not keep track of this one as much
because I was still um, I thinkI was still watching Oklahoma
State, Kansas State, which we'lltalk about that tomorrow.
South Dakota pulls it outagainst Southern Illinois,
53-51.
Southern Illinois sitting 6-5.
They may not be in the playoffs.
I'm not sure what theirsituation is right now.

(33:34):
So still like that name.
Probably one of the betternames.

SPEAKER_09 (33:38):
It really is one of the better names.
You're right.

SPEAKER_05 (33:40):
Uh for Phil, uh Furman beat BMI 32-14.
Pretty good win for them.
So we have three so we havethree undefeated teams in the
FCS currently.

SPEAKER_09 (33:56):
North Dakota State is one of them.

SPEAKER_05 (33:57):
North Dakota State is one.

SPEAKER_09 (33:59):
I think it's uh one of the Montanas.

SPEAKER_05 (34:02):
Nope.
One I've already talked about inthe Ivy League.

SPEAKER_04 (34:11):
Harvard.
Harvard.
Yeah, it's a Harvard, that'sright.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (34:15):
And then the last one is the one we're gonna talk
about this week, too, because umnot only are 11-0, they have a
big rivalry game coming up thisweek, and that is Lehigh.
Lehigh's been one of the teamswe haven't really talked about
much.

SPEAKER_09 (34:27):
Dude, they've been flying onto the radar.
They literally have.

SPEAKER_03 (34:31):
Yeah, Lehigh, where's Lehigh um based?

SPEAKER_05 (34:36):
Like what conference?
No, like state like state.
Pennsylvania?

SPEAKER_03 (34:41):
No, are they in Pennsylvania?
Are they in the Pennsylvania?

SPEAKER_09 (34:44):
Are they in PlayStation?
Don't ask me, I have no ideawhere Lehigh is at.

SPEAKER_04 (34:49):
Montana is undefeated, by the way.
They're 11-0.

SPEAKER_03 (34:56):
Yeah.
Yeah, Tennessee Tech was beforethis weekend after the Kentucky
game.

SPEAKER_04 (35:04):
Because they're ranked number two at 11-0, and
Montana State's ranked third atall.
That's what I thought.

SPEAKER_05 (35:09):
I told you I got convinced of Montana State, so
sorry about that.
Sorry for our fans of Montanathat are listening, which is
basically uh Mr.
Stuats.
And me.
Are you from Montana?
I are you don't know yet.

SPEAKER_09 (35:21):
But I'm a fan, I'm a fan, I'm a fan, I'm a fan.
Okay.

SPEAKER_08 (35:24):
I'm a fan of MST as overall.
Did you did did you move to getback into the snow?
Or what did you do?

SPEAKER_09 (35:30):
Are you out of your fucking mind?

SPEAKER_08 (35:32):
Hell I'm going back through the snow.
Not a chance to be.
I'm gonna need for you to calmdown.
I was just asking.
I'm I'm calm as a cucumber,brother.

SPEAKER_04 (35:40):
I'm I I like that uh Phil says Furman used VMI as a
uh tune-up game, a tune-up gamefor the military appreciation
day against Clemson.

SPEAKER_09 (35:50):
Ah damn.

SPEAKER_05 (35:53):
Uh we will talk about that because I said
there's another FBS versus FCSgame that I want to have a
discussion about.

SPEAKER_04 (35:59):
If you don't take it I think we're gonna be the ones
wearing the purple uniforms, bythe way.

SPEAKER_05 (36:04):
Why would you do that?

SPEAKER_09 (36:05):
That's that's why would you take that away from
them?

SPEAKER_05 (36:08):
That's cultural appropriation.
Why would you do that?

SPEAKER_04 (36:11):
Because we always wear purple in military
appreciation.

SPEAKER_05 (36:13):
Then why schedule a purple team?

SPEAKER_04 (36:16):
That's that's their problem.
Um that's your no that'sglimpse.

SPEAKER_03 (36:21):
Virgil, have we have you heard of the term
superiority complex?

SPEAKER_08 (36:25):
Hey, definitely has that for sure.
Oh, we agree on that.

SPEAKER_05 (36:33):
So a team that does not have a uh superiority
complex, Campbell lost 31-24.
Rough year for the Camels.
Hopefully, they will be able tobounce back next year.
Uh, UT Martin beat uhCharleston's other 17-14.
And just like you, Patrick, withGeorgia State having their alone
win against an FCS school, sodoes Oklahoma State against UT

(36:57):
Martin.
That's their only win this year.
So thank you, UT Martin, forplaying.

SPEAKER_03 (37:03):
I know listen, I know we're I know this is the
show where we talk about majorconference teams, but Georgia
State plays, does not play likea major conference team.
Um they lost to Marshall.
We are Marshall.
Well, whoever whoever isMarshall stomped all over
Georgia State, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_09 (37:23):
Sorry, I have to go get my uh my my Campbell hat
done.

SPEAKER_05 (37:30):
I like that.
I like that.

SPEAKER_03 (37:32):
Oh, I like that, Phil.

SPEAKER_05 (37:34):
I like that a lot, yeah.
Austin P beat Sanford 30 to 16.

SPEAKER_09 (37:38):
Hey, what I've been telling you about Austin P.
Keep an eye on them.

SPEAKER_05 (37:44):
Well, I think they've got a uh pretty big
matchup coming up next week.
So if they are still gonna be achance to get into the playoff,
they're probably gonna have towin that game.

SPEAKER_03 (37:58):
Are they on four losses?
Are they on three losses, AustinP?

SPEAKER_05 (38:02):
Uh seven and seven of the sub four losses.

SPEAKER_03 (38:06):
Four losses, okay.

SPEAKER_05 (38:08):
Okay.
But you know who has only threelosses?
That's West Georgia beating UtahTech 23 23 to nothing.

SPEAKER_03 (38:16):
I mean, I wish that was a little bit more of an
impressive win considering UtahTech is so terrible this year.

SPEAKER_05 (38:20):
But the guys, let's let's talk about this game
because um only one personpicked it, right?
And I was confident this was notgoing to happen.
Presbyterian walks into St.
Thomas of Minnesota, theTommies, and beats the crap out
of them.

SPEAKER_04 (38:35):
I'm disappointed in myself.

SPEAKER_05 (38:37):
You should be.

SPEAKER_04 (38:40):
I thought that that was gonna be a rough road road
game for them, and boy, was Iwrong.

SPEAKER_03 (38:46):
Yeah, I I shouldn't have tuned in because I like I
originally picked Presbyterianand my write-in picks to Virgil,
but then I switched my pick toSt.
Thomas when I was on the show, and I was like, just stuck with
that original pick.

SPEAKER_04 (38:59):
Well, see, I was trying to go with my first
instinct, and my first instinctwas that this is gonna be a
tough road game, give me St.
Thomas, and I'd well I mean Ilet Presbyterian down.

SPEAKER_03 (39:09):
I mean I started factoring in that that long
arduous plane journey to theMidwest for Presbyterian, and uh
I did not I did not think abouthow that could or couldn't
affect them.
Who put that game right?

SPEAKER_05 (39:24):
It doesn't matter, it kind of makes the it makes
the it makes the Davis and Lawsa lot more of a head scratcher.

SPEAKER_04 (39:32):
Yep.
Yeah, definitely with you itdoesn't matter.

SPEAKER_02 (39:38):
Move it on.
Who goes to club?
See, you guys are gonna go towork who goes to club on a
Monday.

SPEAKER_07 (39:44):
Oh my god.
That's pretty funny.

SPEAKER_02 (39:53):
Um my god.

SPEAKER_04 (39:56):
I mean the Davidson loss, uh yeah, because I mean
that was a one-point loss.

SPEAKER_07 (40:03):
She will not be there.
She will not be there.
Oh, I love this show.
Oh man.

SPEAKER_04 (40:10):
But that's that's a good road win for Presbyterian,
by the way.

SPEAKER_05 (40:14):
No, no, I completely agree.
That that was that one surprisedme a lot.

SPEAKER_03 (40:18):
That's what them does that put them back in any
hunt for the playoffs oranything like that.

SPEAKER_05 (40:22):
I don't know if they're a bubble team or not.
It looks like Drake pretty muchhas that spot short up.
The rapper?

SPEAKER_04 (40:29):
No, but see that's a shame because because that one
that one point loss is probablywhat keeps them out.

unknown (40:37):
Right.

SPEAKER_04 (40:38):
Oh after a great season.

SPEAKER_03 (40:40):
Oh, I'm sure there is a clip of me out there doing
that.
I am I remember when you Iremember when you brought that
up, Jolly.

SPEAKER_09 (40:47):
Yeah, Virgil, did you get to watch any of this?
And I didn't, so you know,Jackson State Bethune Cook.

SPEAKER_05 (40:53):
No, Swap games are not on um ESPN Plus.
Got it.
So I wasn't able to watch thatone.

SPEAKER_03 (41:00):
Is that one where you have to have a standalone
subscription to watch it?

SPEAKER_05 (41:03):
I forgot I think it's either Flow Sports or
something.

SPEAKER_09 (41:05):
It's like I didn't want to deal with uh I'm not
about to spend my money on FlowSports.
I'm not gonna lie, guys.
Uh it ain't it ain't happening,it's not that big of a deal for
me.
I've already got it already asit is on on our on so many other
uh channels and TV packages thatI don't need it.
Donnie Donnie, you have it,right?

SPEAKER_04 (41:23):
I do.
I got it for the checkers gamesbecause Ron did not like to
watch the checkers games evenhere.

SPEAKER_03 (41:27):
Donnie has Donnie has every sports package you can
possibly have.

SPEAKER_04 (41:30):
No, I don't have everyone but close.

SPEAKER_05 (41:32):
No, he does, he does because when um when I was doing
Gottlieb Watch on Thursday forthe Green Bay St.
Thomas game, it required a loginto the Summit Network Sports or
Summit Conference Network Sportsthing, and I didn't have that.
I texted Donnie, goes, I can youbelieve this exists?
And he says, Oh, yeah, here's mylogin for it.
And it's like I can't I can'tuse it, but thank you for

(41:53):
offering.

SPEAKER_09 (41:54):
You should have.
I'm the kind of guy like, oh,you're giving it to me for me
freely.
I'm I would have.
Yeah, listen, I would have beenlistening.

SPEAKER_03 (42:04):
Listen, I would have known what it was meant to be
rich for a day.

SPEAKER_05 (42:07):
The the other problem is that I didn't have
it, I don't have the app off thefire.
Oh see, that's different.
That that would have had thatconnection.

SPEAKER_09 (42:14):
But if he's offering, you take it and you
run with it.
Because he offered.
Remember that.

SPEAKER_03 (42:19):
Listen, um, Donnie has a sc has a screen, has a
screen so big I didn't evenrealize they sold them that
size.

SPEAKER_09 (42:26):
So I've been trying to get the wife to let me buy a
like a like a 75 or 80 inch TV.

SPEAKER_03 (42:33):
Well, is yours 150 inch, Donnie?
Is that what yours is?

SPEAKER_04 (42:36):
No, it's not, but I'm not gonna say now that it
said what he said.
So it's it's 95.
No.

SPEAKER_02 (42:42):
No, I was gonna say it's bigger than 80, though.
Lower 75.

SPEAKER_09 (42:46):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_08 (42:47):
I think I got a do you have a 70 77?
I think it's 85.

SPEAKER_04 (42:52):
I really want a one of the different friend Phil,
the that the lake house that wewent to for the Clemson uh LSU
game beginning of the season.
Yeah, he's got a 98-inch.
Oh, that's beautiful.
And that's not even in thehouse, that's on the like screen
porch looking over the lake.

SPEAKER_05 (43:07):
You're talking about being in the alligator.

SPEAKER_04 (43:11):
Not my lake house, Jolly.
Which one?

SPEAKER_03 (43:13):
Yeah, exactly.
Jolly, I wanted to know the samething.
Which one?

SPEAKER_04 (43:17):
That's my friend, that's my friend Phil, who
actually is a lot wealthier thanme.

SPEAKER_03 (43:21):
Man, man, you know, Jolly, you know.

SPEAKER_09 (43:28):
See, we're just all lucky to be in his circle.
That's what it is.
The guy's one in Utah Beaves.

SPEAKER_07 (43:35):
The one in Utah.
Oh my god.
Jolly, that's great.

SPEAKER_05 (43:40):
That's good.
I like that one.
Prop for dropping them allbeeps, though.

SPEAKER_09 (43:44):
That's uh I thought it was uh I thought it was Monte
Carlo.
You know, that's too small.

SPEAKER_03 (43:49):
No, that that was when that was Wednesday of last
week.

SPEAKER_04 (43:53):
I could walk across Monte Carlo.
I'm not going there.
That's too small.

SPEAKER_09 (43:56):
Not doing F1, you're not.

SPEAKER_03 (44:01):
Yeah, so he so when when you said that uh we were
gonna be doing F1 on this show,Donnie said I better make the
investment and you know, buyproperty at Monte Carlo so I can
just see it live.

SPEAKER_04 (44:12):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (44:13):
Some of us just try to find it, you know, like a TV
stream.
No.

SPEAKER_04 (44:19):
No, I I could probably afford to go to Vegas,
but I don't know if I can afforda ticket to actually see the
race.
I'd have to get me a room uphigh and just hope that I could
get a good view.

SPEAKER_05 (44:29):
So going over some of the last few scores, uh,
Stephen F.
Austin beat Lamar 2615, prettygood back and forth on that one
before Stephen F.
Austin just kind of pulls away.

SPEAKER_01 (44:38):
I thought that was gonna be close.

SPEAKER_05 (44:40):
I did too.

SPEAKER_01 (44:41):
I didn't.
Uh if Terry is that winning thepicks this weekend.

SPEAKER_05 (44:46):
If Terry is still on, Charlton State beat uh North
Alabama 61 to nothing.
Um I hate to see Purple onpurple crime like that.

SPEAKER_04 (44:55):
That's a that's probably it was 21-0 in the
first quarter.
They scored another, they went19.

SPEAKER_05 (45:02):
It was 40 to nothing at half, so I mean it's like it
was it was done at that point.
Yeah, uh Sacramento State beatsIdaho, who I consider the most
disappointing team with the FCSthis year at 23-20.
And then Montana State beats theCowards 38-217.
I was very glad to see thatline.

SPEAKER_03 (45:21):
What I loved most about that is that they let you
they let the cowards scorefirst, try to make them feel
like they had a chance, and thenit's like, oh we're good.

SPEAKER_04 (45:30):
Seven nothing at the end of the first quarter, and
it's like, ah, let's let's turnit on.

SPEAKER_05 (45:35):
Yeah, exactly.
You have you had to pull it outof them first because if you're
beating them, if you're beatingthem bad in the first quarter,
you know, that's when the rainand the weather starts coming,
and it's like, yeah, you didn'tget them a chance.

SPEAKER_03 (45:44):
Did you see where the ref had to bring the UC
Davis players back on the fieldafter the uh for the second
quarter?
They were just gonna they werejust gonna try to cancel the
game after the first quarter.

SPEAKER_05 (45:53):
I knew it.

SPEAKER_03 (45:54):
Yeah, and then they had to pull them back onto the
field.
So I knew it.

SPEAKER_09 (46:00):
I know you're probably joking, but I wouldn't
be surprised.
Who said I was joking?

SPEAKER_04 (46:08):
There's a lot of purple teams in FCS.

SPEAKER_02 (46:10):
The only F1 I've ever seen is on my keyboard.

SPEAKER_05 (46:13):
That's a good joke.
I like that.
I like that one.
Good one, I'll give you that, but don't be able to do it.

SPEAKER_03 (46:20):
Same for me, Phil.
Don't be knocking on F1.
I'm not knocking it.
I'm saying I've just never satand watched an F1 race.
F1 is amazing.

SPEAKER_04 (46:29):
I'm not saying the Vegas race is this weekend,
right?

SPEAKER_09 (46:34):
It should be because they're they were in Brazil two
weeks ago and then they got theRPN now.

SPEAKER_04 (46:39):
Well, I know Dan Patrick's show is down there in
Vegas uh this week broadcasting.

SPEAKER_09 (46:43):
So they paid the whole thing just for this race.
You know that.

SPEAKER_05 (46:49):
So, guys, let's let's talk about this week in
the FCS late.

SPEAKER_09 (46:53):
Let's do it.

SPEAKER_05 (46:53):
So, of course, there's some FCS teams that are
playing FBS teams too, and um,you know, I can never take the
FCC conference seriously duringthis time.

SPEAKER_09 (47:03):
Or ACC.

SPEAKER_05 (47:05):
I don't think ACC schedule in FCS teams this late,
are they?

SPEAKER_07 (47:09):
Yeah, they are.
Yeah, they are.

SPEAKER_05 (47:12):
I haven't gone that far deep in the schedule yet,
but Sanford is going to CollegeStation to play Texas AM.

SPEAKER_09 (47:19):
Oh my word.
That's messed up, bro.
That's exactly that's justdisgusting.

SPEAKER_05 (47:25):
I don't even know what the line is on that.
I have not seen one.

SPEAKER_07 (47:28):
There is no line in this at all.

SPEAKER_05 (47:31):
But as for the games that we're definitely going to
be picking and talking about, first one is the game Harvard at
Yale.
Yale at the and sorry, the YaleBowl over at New Haven.
So Harvard is 9-0, 6-0 in Ivy,and Yale is seven and two at
five and one.
So Harvard loses this game, Yaletakes the automatic bid.

(47:55):
Harvard's probably gonna goahead and be in the at large in
there.
So this could, this is this hasimplications on the bubble for
sure.

SPEAKER_09 (48:03):
The fact that Yale would take over when there are
seven, there would be eight andtwo, and Harvard would be nine
and one.
It's beyond me.

SPEAKER_05 (48:11):
Well, they have a tiebreaker over on conference.

SPEAKER_03 (48:14):
So so when Jimbo was at AM that that had to be
scheduled when Jimbo was a goodone.
I believe it.
Yep.
Probably, yeah.

SPEAKER_09 (48:23):
Jimbo would would do some, would do that.
He would be the kind of guy whodo that.

SPEAKER_05 (48:28):
So uh next game we have that wherever you meant.
Oh, sorry, Patter, go ahead.

SPEAKER_04 (48:33):
I I was just gonna say the only other ACC game is
Wake Forest has uh uh Delawareand Clemson has uh Furman, all
the rest of them are playingconference games.

SPEAKER_05 (48:42):
Well, Delaware's not FCS anymore.

SPEAKER_04 (48:45):
Well, okay, then it's just Clemson.

SPEAKER_03 (48:48):
Oh Clemson.
Oh, Clemson playing another likeD3 and trying to make themselves
look sound better.
That's what it is.
I'm glad you actually stepped upto play FCS this year instead of
D3.

SPEAKER_04 (49:02):
Furman has a better record than us.
We're giving them a big check,so don't matter.

SPEAKER_05 (49:07):
I'm very well aware that Furman has a better record
than you guys.

SPEAKER_08 (49:10):
Donnie, let me ask you this.
There's a lot of teams that havea better record than you guys.
How would you feel, Donnie?

SPEAKER_09 (49:17):
Donnie, how would you like what would happen to
you mentally, physically, andemotionally if Furman does find
a way to win this game?

SPEAKER_04 (49:26):
It's not gonna do that much to me.
I I mean this season's uh as badas it is, I wouldn't be
surprised, actually.
Um, if we lose South Carolina,I'll I'll lose my mind.

SPEAKER_03 (49:36):
But Jolly, do we is there such a thing as a negative
percentage?
Yeah, there's slim to none.
Like zero.
So Phil, there's none to none.

SPEAKER_05 (49:45):
In the past that has been true, but this year it's
different.
This year, that for the firsttime, they are being they are
gonna be playing in theplayoffs.

SPEAKER_03 (49:54):
It's about time.
I love that.
So who so who are you rootingfor in this game, guys?
Yale or Harvard?

SPEAKER_09 (50:02):
Harvard.

SPEAKER_05 (50:07):
I like Harvard.
Yale just for the chaos.

SPEAKER_08 (50:11):
I mean, I get it.
I can I can respect that.
Yeah, I'm going to Harvard.

SPEAKER_04 (50:15):
I wish I went Ivy League school.
I would I think if I had to pickone, I would pick Yale.
Um because I think uh didn't Ithink Lou Gehrig was at Yale.
Was it Yale?
Or was he at Columbia?
No, he was at Columbia, sorry.
Anyway, I'd pick Yale.

SPEAKER_09 (50:35):
Loser.

SPEAKER_05 (50:38):
Another robbery game that we have that also will have
implications on playoff seating.
Lehigh is going to at Lafayette.

SPEAKER_09 (50:47):
Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (50:47):
Uh both are 6-0 in the Patriots.
Lehigh scores 11-0.
Lafayette is 8-3.
Lafayette's probably Lafayette'sprobably the only team that I
think can probably beat them.
When I looked at their scheduleearlier that I thought really
had a good shot.

SPEAKER_09 (51:02):
So wow, wow, wow.
Look at that.

SPEAKER_05 (51:14):
I don't have to do I don't have to do the instigating
today.

SPEAKER_09 (51:16):
I've just everybody's just like throwing
haymakers today.

SPEAKER_03 (51:20):
Yeah, I don't I'm so glad I don't have to.
Man, you know, everybody else isdoing it.
I love it.

SPEAKER_04 (51:27):
Well, that's because you don't have to travel this
far.
Travel cost is less, so we givethem less.

SPEAKER_07 (51:36):
Wow.

SPEAKER_04 (51:37):
It's like a what 40-minute drive from Furman to
Clemson.
If that.

SPEAKER_03 (51:42):
Are you going to the game, Donnie?
Uh no.

SPEAKER_04 (51:46):
Donnie's like I thought about going up there to
Tailgate with Phil, just for thetailgate, but is the tiger mask
coming back out?

SPEAKER_03 (51:52):
I mean, I would.

SPEAKER_04 (51:53):
Is the what?

SPEAKER_03 (51:54):
Is the tiger mask coming back out?

SPEAKER_04 (52:00):
My my paint, face paint?
No, that that was.

SPEAKER_03 (52:04):
That was for uh greatest magicians.
Have something to learn.

SPEAKER_05 (52:08):
I'm not I'm not sucking cats in public.
I'm sorry, no.
I'm sorry, Patrick.
Don't do it.
That's just crazy.

SPEAKER_03 (52:13):
Oh, well, it never was there ever.
Sorry.

SPEAKER_04 (52:17):
The face paint was for an orange bowl game, not for
a firming game.

SPEAKER_09 (52:21):
And the fact that you actually paint yourself and
then the way that you look, giveyou balls.
You got balls, buddy.

SPEAKER_04 (52:28):
Yeah, you know, you get a few beers and you your
buddy gets it done.
You're like, screw it, I'll getit done too.
Because it was free.
But we gave her, I think we eachprice.

SPEAKER_03 (52:37):
You know what my favorite price is?
Free 99.

SPEAKER_05 (52:40):
Wait, wait, hold on.
Ed, Ed, you mean you've neverpainted yourself for like one of
your teams before?
Like you've never paintedyourself brown?

SPEAKER_09 (52:47):
Not even chance in hell, no.
He was so drunk isn't thatdrunk.
Well, yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03 (52:55):
I'm gonna go with Mrs.
Mayer on this one.
Yeah, so Jolly, I get a couponfor 99 cents off of free
ninety-nine.

SPEAKER_05 (53:02):
So okay, wait, wait, hold on, hold on.
So I have a question about this.
Did he sleep curled up like atiger?
Like how how how dedicated washe to this uh this this shtick?

SPEAKER_04 (53:19):
He hadn't curled up like a tiger, but she woke up to
that that face paint.
I'll tell you that.
I'll find the picture and I'llsend you a little bit.
Oh, that's not bad though.

SPEAKER_03 (53:28):
That's really 50 for 40.
What?

SPEAKER_09 (53:32):
Honey.

SPEAKER_04 (53:34):
Yeah, I was like, I'm not watching this off.
You can wake up next to this inthe morning, don't expose Mr.

SPEAKER_09 (53:39):
Mayor.

SPEAKER_03 (53:40):
On the 50, 40 bucks, dude.
And this is very nice of you todefend your morning show
co-host.

SPEAKER_09 (53:46):
I'm not uh defending anything.

SPEAKER_03 (53:48):
Sure, sure you're not because you're not jolly.
Nope.

SPEAKER_05 (53:52):
So how do you guys how do you guys feel about the
I'm sorry for having to steerthe show back away again, but
we're gonna be here for likefive hours if we continue like
this.
How do you guys feel about theMiyak game?
South Carolina State andDelaware State.
Delaware State winning thiswould probably be one of the
biggest stories in the FCS,especially with a first round uh

(54:12):
first year coach, and with theabysmal seasons, Delaware State
has a but eventually does thisrun out for them.

SPEAKER_09 (54:27):
I don't know.

SPEAKER_03 (54:32):
Delaware state's where Deshaun Jackson is, right?
Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_09 (54:36):
Yeah.
I'm excited for that, forDeshaun Jackson.
He's doing really good, man.
I I'm not I'm super surprised.
First year coach doing what he'sdoing.
Yeah, good for him.
Um he's uh he they would have anautomatic bid, right?
Though if they do win, whoeverwins it, because they're both
having the exact same uhschedule.

SPEAKER_08 (54:58):
Oh Lord.

SPEAKER_09 (55:01):
That's haunting.
That is so haunting.

SPEAKER_05 (55:06):
I just saw the little preview.
I don't even pulled it up yet.
Uh no, Murray State.
I didn't oh gosh.
I didn't, oh man.

SPEAKER_07 (55:16):
He's looking at you.
Oh my word.

SPEAKER_02 (55:21):
That's what I look like the next I can't unsee
that.

SPEAKER_04 (55:24):
Actually, I think that was the night before I say
that.
This is what it's gonna looklike in the morning.
It's it did that shit took awhile to come off.

SPEAKER_03 (55:32):
I bet it did, dude.
Yeah, by the way.
This this this this almost mademe die.
You wanted me to wake up next tothat the next morning.

SPEAKER_02 (55:44):
I'm sorry, in that comment.
Oh god, that's a good one.

SPEAKER_09 (55:50):
You know what?
I have mad respect for you fordoing that, so good for you,
buddy.

SPEAKER_05 (55:55):
So Murray States has one last shot to win a game.

SPEAKER_04 (56:01):
Yeah, I sent you the one that I sent you guys the
other day, too.
That was me and my friends.
So you can see the before, too.

SPEAKER_09 (56:07):
They do have a chance here.
They do have a chance.

SPEAKER_05 (56:09):
You think they have a chance here?

SPEAKER_09 (56:11):
Yeah, they do.
I I just don't know if they'regonna take advantage of it.

SPEAKER_05 (56:20):
Listen, I'm just saying it's a tall task for them
to win on senior day at TerreHoyt.

SPEAKER_09 (56:26):
Yeah, again, listen.
I'm not saying it's gonna getdone.
I'm just saying they have a goodshot.

SPEAKER_05 (56:36):
For those who wonder or wondering, Murray State's
traveling to Indiana State.
Indiana State is three andeight, only one and six in
Missouri Valley, and that one inSouth Dakota State, for some
reason.
So we're definitely keeping, I'mdefinitely keeping an eye on
that one.

SPEAKER_03 (56:54):
You do realize that Murray State's 0 and 11, right?

SPEAKER_05 (56:58):
Who is that to?

SPEAKER_09 (57:01):
Me?
Yeah.
No, I'm not saying, listen, theyactually kept up for a little
bit against North Dakota State.
So, like, I mean, you gotta givethem a little bit of a uh
respect on on that one.
And Indiana State, uh, they'rethree and eight.
So what I'm saying is they theyhave a shot.
I'm not saying that they'regonna take full advantage of it.
I'm just saying they have a shotat actually you know coming

(57:23):
ahead.
And if they do win, it'll belike by like one or two points.
It's not gonna be like a youknow going away big.
I I I think they do really dohave a shot to get a win here.

SPEAKER_03 (57:34):
Such disrespect to Larry Bird University.
I can't even can't even believeit.

SPEAKER_04 (57:40):
Well, Larry Bird ain't playing football, so yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (57:42):
Larry Bird, yeah.
Good point.

SPEAKER_04 (57:45):
Uh I would like to see both of those get get at
least get the one win and not gowinless for the season.

SPEAKER_03 (57:52):
Can St.
Francis please get a win, or dothey have no shot?

SPEAKER_05 (57:56):
They have they've they've been close twice.
They've only lost they the lasttwo games are only one score
losses.

SPEAKER_03 (58:02):
Who do they play in their final game?
They have Stonehill.

SPEAKER_04 (58:05):
Oh no.
It's three and eight.

SPEAKER_03 (58:07):
So hey, they have a shot.
You know, I think they mighthave a shot.
You know, I'm not saying theymight only win by one, but I
think they might actually have ashot.

SPEAKER_04 (58:18):
Yeah, I mean Stonehill's three wins are
against Maine, Long Island, andMercyhurst.

SPEAKER_09 (58:26):
I don't know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_05 (58:29):
So next game we have um talk about, of course,
Eastern Illinois travels toAlabama because why?

SPEAKER_09 (58:36):
Because it's Alabama.

SPEAKER_05 (58:38):
Buckle up.
Mercer is traveling the JordanHare to take on Auburn.

SPEAKER_09 (58:46):
Bro.

SPEAKER_05 (58:47):
They're not going to win.

SPEAKER_09 (58:49):
They're not going to, but you know how much fun
that would be for us to betalking about this?

SPEAKER_05 (58:54):
If they have a lead, if they have like a 10-0 lead, I
will make sure everybody knows.

SPEAKER_09 (59:01):
Listen, stranger things have happened.

SPEAKER_05 (59:04):
Stranger things have happened.

SPEAKER_09 (59:06):
I remember App State going to uh Michigan.
I was getting ready to say AppState, and you said it first.

SPEAKER_03 (59:13):
Georgia State beat Tennessee.
Anything can happen.

SPEAKER_04 (59:15):
Yep.

SPEAKER_05 (59:16):
Donnie, I'm disappointed you as a Clemson
fan that you would not bring upthe Citadel beating South
Carolina.

SPEAKER_04 (59:23):
Yeah, well, that's not that big a deal.
Because of South Carolina.

SPEAKER_05 (59:29):
I know that, but just uh way to rub in the fact
that South Carolina lost to theCitadel one year.

SPEAKER_04 (59:36):
I think they lost to him two years.
I mean they were really good.
I was trying to give them thebenefit.

SPEAKER_05 (59:41):
I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt
here.

SPEAKER_09 (59:44):
You know.
I I I can see listen, and youknow me, I've been rooting all
year for for chaos, and I wouldlove to see Mercer going in
there and actually beatingAuburn.
That would be so much fun.
And let's not act like likeAuburn is a this just good team.

(01:00:07):
You know, he they're they'rethey're four and six.

SPEAKER_03 (01:00:10):
Yeah, I mean they they fired Hugh Freeze, so and
they got Iron Ball next week.

SPEAKER_05 (01:00:15):
Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_03 (01:00:17):
So don't don't you think it would be fun if they
had if we got to the end of theseason and they were all of the
winless teams, and then theykind of play a tournament to see
who can get who can get a win,and then the that would be so
fun.
Can you imagine Lincoln playingSaint Francis?

SPEAKER_05 (01:00:38):
I think St.
Francis could probably win thatgame by 20.

SPEAKER_09 (01:00:42):
Touche.

SPEAKER_03 (01:00:44):
So Murray State might even get a win in that
one.

SPEAKER_05 (01:00:48):
Well, let's not be too hasty.

SPEAKER_09 (01:00:50):
Let's like let's relax.
I'm done.

SPEAKER_05 (01:00:52):
So uh Montana State, Montana, we've already talked
about, so we don't really needto go over that one again.
South Dakota State at NorthDakota.
I feel like the winner of this, the loser of this gets knocked
out of the playoffs.

SPEAKER_03 (01:01:05):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:01:07):
And honestly, after the way both teams have been
playing, North Dakota looks likethe better team.

SPEAKER_09 (01:01:14):
Yeah.
I'm I you're probably gonnainclude this in our pick'ems,
right?
Where's the game being played?
North Dakota.

SPEAKER_05 (01:01:25):
North Dakota.

SPEAKER_08 (01:01:26):
Okay.

SPEAKER_09 (01:01:30):
Man, dude.
That's one game that I reallywant to see.
Yeah, I may.

SPEAKER_05 (01:01:40):
I have to see what time the Oklahoma State Central
Florida game is, but I if it'snot around one o'clock, I'm
probably gonna watch that.

SPEAKER_09 (01:01:46):
Why would you watch that?
Wouldn't you rather watchactually an actual team that you
like?

SPEAKER_05 (01:01:52):
I have to watch my team.
To thick or thin, it doesn'tmatter.

SPEAKER_09 (01:01:55):
I'm with you.
I watched the Browns, so I getit.

SPEAKER_04 (01:01:58):
Uh well you're An hour behind.
So Oklahoma State's UCF is 3p.m.
your time.
This one would be 1 p.m.
So you have two hours of thisthis game first.

SPEAKER_05 (01:02:08):
Good.
I feel like that'd probably, Ithink I like to think that would
maybe settle within those twohours.
Like I would have an idea whatwould happen, which means it'll
probably be a deadlock.

SPEAKER_09 (01:02:21):
Watch this game go all the way to like you know,
tide until like maybe overtimeor some crazy thing like that.

SPEAKER_05 (01:02:28):
Oh, absolutely.

SPEAKER_04 (01:02:30):
Um, if it's a good game, you can stay with it at
least till halftime of OSU.

SPEAKER_05 (01:02:37):
Right.
Idaho State plays Idaho.
Uh, we're probably not gonnapick that one, but you know,
just a property there.
Sacramento State plays at UCDavis.
I am kind of keeping an eye onthis one.
Um, I don't think UC Davis willbe knocked out by a Sacramento
State loss, but it is one that Ikind of find intriguing.

SPEAKER_09 (01:02:57):
But this is what I was just gonna ask you.
Okay, so you don't think theywould, but I honestly think that
depending on on the on the umNorth Dakota, South Dakota State
game, I think the the losermight still just eked in if you
have like a for example a UCDavis Sacramento, like if UC

(01:03:18):
Davis loses, man.

SPEAKER_04 (01:03:23):
Sorry.
I saw Phil, I mean, uh, excuseme, I saw uh yeah, it was Phil's
comment, and then I just saw thereplay.
That was a huge acting job.
But anyway, we'll come back tothat.

SPEAKER_09 (01:03:34):
You'll get a fine.
I I I still think depending onthe competitiveness of the South
Dakota State, North Dakota game,I still think that one of those
teams might still have a shot atmaking it into the into the FCF
playoff.
They'll probably be like thelast team in or something like

(01:03:55):
that, but I think they stillhave a shot.

SPEAKER_05 (01:03:58):
Yeah, I'm kinda Sacramento State lost to South
Dakota State in the first gameof the season.
So that's probably gonna put adetriment to them on there.
But I I I see UC Davis winningthis game anyway.

SPEAKER_09 (01:04:13):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:04:14):
So I don't think I think it's kind of a moot point.
And then the big one that we'regonna be talking about, and so
big that it's not even on ESPNPlus, this is on the CW network.
Furman plays Clemson.
Uh uh You know, I was not reallygonna go into analysis, I gotta

(01:04:35):
see what the line is for thisgame first, but I expect a full
analysis of this on BreakfastTakes.

SPEAKER_04 (01:04:43):
And it's I think it's followed by a uh like a
replay episode of Dawson's Creekor something.

SPEAKER_09 (01:04:48):
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, man.
Hey, listen, listen.
I used to watch the hell out ofsome Dawson's Creek, dog.
I've never seen Dawson's Creek.

SPEAKER_08 (01:04:56):
I don't want to wait for our lives to be over.

unknown (01:05:00):
Yep.

SPEAKER_08 (01:05:01):
I've never I've never seen it either.

SPEAKER_09 (01:05:03):
What Jessica Alba, dude?

SPEAKER_05 (01:05:06):
Jessica, could I just say it's too white for me?

SPEAKER_09 (01:05:11):
Yeah, you probably could.
Yeah, yeah, I can see, yeah.
I mean, never mind.
Moving on.
I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_05 (01:05:20):
You wanna you wanna you wanna talk something like
that?

SPEAKER_09 (01:05:22):
You want to move no?

SPEAKER_05 (01:05:26):
No.
No, it's all right.
We're good.
We'll see how good that reallyis.

SPEAKER_04 (01:05:34):
I like I like that Polly's having to watch some
Alfred Hitchcock stuff, though.
Alfred Hitchcock's has some goodstuff right there, man.

SPEAKER_03 (01:05:40):
Listen, what about you watched the birds?

SPEAKER_04 (01:05:45):
I see I see the Alfred Hitchcock hour on uh the
black and white stuff that Iwatch on Patrick.

SPEAKER_05 (01:05:52):
We agreed not to talk about NFL today, so why
would you watch the Eagles game?
Sorry.

SPEAKER_04 (01:06:00):
Yeah, Alfred Hitchcock, man.
That dude, he was kind of crazy.

SPEAKER_03 (01:06:04):
Go birds.

SPEAKER_05 (01:06:07):
And then the other game of note to keep up, to keep
track of Austin P at TarletonState.

SPEAKER_09 (01:06:14):
I'm I'm I got that one pinned.
I told him.

SPEAKER_05 (01:06:18):
Yeah, I think I'm gonna watch that one too.
I I can't see Austin P winningthat one.
Um, but if they're trying tofight for their way in the
playoffs, could we want to keepa keep an eye on?
Because I don't Tarleton'spretty much set.

SPEAKER_09 (01:06:32):
Yeah, they're in.

SPEAKER_05 (01:06:33):
They could lose this game and probably they probably
drop maybe two seeds, if eventhat.
They're not gonna drop out ofthe top eight.

SPEAKER_09 (01:06:43):
They're not going to really be they can still make
they're still gonna make itbecause they're they've had a
good strong year, and so they'rethey'll make it.
Like you said, they'll probablydrop one or two spots, but
they're not gonna drop that bigbecause again, Austin P has been
a pretty formidable team allyear.

(01:07:04):
Uh and and I think that they canstill okay.

SPEAKER_05 (01:07:07):
So I'm actually wrong.
Because Abilene Christian's alsosix and one.

SPEAKER_09 (01:07:13):
They are.

SPEAKER_05 (01:07:15):
So Abilene Christian.

SPEAKER_09 (01:07:17):
Yeah, but they're overall seven and four.

SPEAKER_05 (01:07:20):
Yeah, but I mean, if we're talking about conference
championship here, yeah, yeah,yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (01:07:25):
So yeah, they play Central Arkansas, yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:07:27):
So Tarleton still has something really to play for
in that game.

SPEAKER_09 (01:07:31):
Yeah, that conference though it's like you
got Abilene Christian, you gotCharlton State, Southern Utah,
West Georgia.
You know, and so that that ain'tbad though.
That ain't bad.

SPEAKER_05 (01:07:48):
So that is it for FCS talk right now.
Like I said, we will be picking.

SPEAKER_04 (01:07:58):
No.
That was a Patrick joke.
I'll give you that one, Phil.

SPEAKER_03 (01:08:04):
No, don't no, don't, don't, don't.

SPEAKER_09 (01:08:06):
That's a that would be a you joke.
Certainly it would.
No, no.
Two out of the four so far agreethat that would that would that
it is a you joke right there.

SPEAKER_04 (01:08:16):
That's how you know he's a longtime chatter.
He's pulling out the Patrickjokes.

SPEAKER_09 (01:08:19):
He is.
If he Virgil doesn't even wantto comment, but you know he's
right.
We're right.
Not touching that one.
No, I wouldn't touch it either.
So sorry, Patrick, you're out.
Hey, by the way, why are wetalking about Townsend and uh
Campbell?

(01:08:41):
I'm kidding.

SPEAKER_07 (01:08:42):
I'm kidding.
Do you want to do analysis onthat game?
No, I don't because they bothsuck.

SPEAKER_05 (01:08:51):
Well has decided.

SPEAKER_09 (01:08:55):
See?
100% a Patrick joke.

SPEAKER_04 (01:09:01):
Sorry, buddy.
All right, Phil, see you later.

SPEAKER_08 (01:09:10):
Oh, here we go.
I can't wait, man.

SPEAKER_05 (01:09:15):
I think I already know what that's gonna be about,
too.

SPEAKER_03 (01:09:18):
I have a really good feeling.

SPEAKER_05 (01:09:24):
He's like, I don't want to put up with us.

SPEAKER_04 (01:09:29):
Yeah, we're gonna have a good show tomorrow.

SPEAKER_03 (01:09:31):
Listen, listen, I'm gonna be watching Cleveland
Browns practice very closelythis week.

SPEAKER_05 (01:09:38):
Didn't they say that they were already gonna start
him?
If uh Gabriel doesn't pass.
Concussion.

SPEAKER_04 (01:09:46):
Testing.
They're gonna lose the gameseither way, so might as well
play him in the game.

SPEAKER_03 (01:10:01):
He's still lurking around.
Yes, he is.
Everyone said there's no way hecan be back in contention to
play.
Oh, yes, he is.

SPEAKER_04 (01:10:08):
I wouldn't start messing with the uh draft
position at this point withplaying Billy Zappi.
It's not worth it.

SPEAKER_05 (01:10:15):
Oh, you're afraid that they're gonna win their
games and it's gonna go up, it'sgonna go lower because they're
afraid he's gonna drop a350-yard, four-touchdown master
class.

SPEAKER_03 (01:10:24):
I'd be scared too.

SPEAKER_05 (01:10:25):
The only problem is that there'll be five
interceptions in that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:10:28):
Which by the way, I was focused on the touchdowns
and and the passing yards.

SPEAKER_05 (01:10:33):
We I have to give props to Mr.
Gurrell for a minute.
Because thanks to him textingDonnie and Donnie texting us, I
was aware that Mason Rudolph wasplaying football in the NFL.
And I agree with you, Iimmediately dropped what I was
doing and found a way to followthis game.

SPEAKER_00 (01:10:51):
So I poked.

SPEAKER_05 (01:10:53):
I appreciate that.
You made my son, you made mySunday because Lord knows that
Seahawks Rams game almost killedme.

SPEAKER_04 (01:11:01):
I saw that come through.
I was like, I gotta send that toyou guys because I I knew uh I
figured Virgil that you wouldhave already figured had seen
it, but no, I didn't know.
When he had the go pokes onthere, I was like, I had to give
that one to Patrick too.

SPEAKER_05 (01:11:15):
So now let's transition to um absolutely
Mike.
Let's transition to soccer nowfor a minute.
Um, we're not gonna start withWorld Cup qualifying because I
want to get your guys' opinionon the MLS schedule change more

(01:11:37):
than anything.
So for those who don't know, MLSis following the European style
schedule change where it's umalmost said it's September
through May.

SPEAKER_04 (01:11:50):
There's no winter.
Is it May?

SPEAKER_05 (01:11:53):
Yeah, it's through the winter.
We'll say it's through thewinter.

SPEAKER_04 (01:11:55):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:11:56):
So um, like I said, I do not really follow MLS as
much as you guys do.
So I'm not sure exactly whatimpact this would have for your
you guys who are watching it orbasically why they would be
doing this.
To me, it doesn't kind of makesense.
It doesn't um if they're ifthey're emulating Europe to
appease the European snob, theeuro snobs or anything like

(01:12:19):
that.
I don't think it's gonna make adifference.
Um I don't really understandthis from a money standpoint.
I don't understand this from asports competition standpoint
because now they're going upagainst um the juggernaut that
is the NFL.
You got NFL, you got I mean yougot NFL college football still

(01:12:41):
going on.

SPEAKER_09 (01:12:42):
You got the uh major league baseball playoffs, yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:12:45):
So not entirely too sure how that's gonna work.
Because I mean, imagine evenlogistics on having all of those
play at the same time.
So what do you guys think ofthat?

SPEAKER_09 (01:12:59):
See they had for those fans of soccer, you could
watch like we watch now the uhthe English Premier League, you
can watch League One and allthat, right?
Liga A, La Liga, and then if youstill wanted to get more of your
soccer fix, you have MLS.

(01:13:20):
Right?
And now you don't.

SPEAKER_04 (01:13:22):
They had their own thing when nobody else was doing
it, and now they're just gonnabe another for for the for the
can't for the the the fan thatjust watches um like MLS,
they're not gonna watch theother stuff as much anymore.

SPEAKER_09 (01:13:41):
Here's the thing, and and this is something I
don't know if you guys havethought about is USL uh is gonna
be put in the professionalleague.
Now you just left the USL all bythe lums themselves to really to
have their own league and havethat pri doing that prime spot
right now.

SPEAKER_04 (01:14:00):
Because you had like you said, you had MLS and they
had their own time frame, peoplewould watch MLS, and then uh
then it would go into the the uhyou know the world stage with La
Liga and premierely all those, and you had fans that would then
follow those teams.
Now they're gonna have tochoose.
And the MLS fans are apassionate fan base for their

(01:14:22):
teams.
And I don't know if I I wouldlike to know what those kind of
those people feel about it.
Because for me, I I I'm new toit anyway.

SPEAKER_09 (01:14:32):
Um I'm with Mike on this one though.
That he does have a great pointhere.
And then I'll I'll I'll I'lldefer to Patrick because you
Patrick and Virgil, but one dayChampions League.

SPEAKER_04 (01:14:46):
Yeah, because even though you guys say you don't
watch MLS a whole lot, you atleast know from standpoint of
how the European model works towhat they're doing.
Are they are they hurtingthemselves or do they actually
eventually help themselves more?

SPEAKER_05 (01:15:02):
The only thing this immediately helps is um the Kaka
Calf Champions Leagueperformances.
Because now it's lined up withall the other um American
Central American leagues.
So like whenever they play likein the quarterfinals or
semifinals, it's not basic, theybasically was preseason for MLS

(01:15:23):
at the time.
That's a benefit for them, I cansee.
But like I said, I don't I don'tknow what else this really
benefits.

SPEAKER_04 (01:15:33):
Were there and again, I'm uh I I don't know
this, so that's why I'm asking.
Are there players from theEuropean leagues that would come
over and play MLS because itdidn't interfere with their
other season and then go back totheir their main clubs?

SPEAKER_05 (01:15:47):
Um for World Cup, Patrick, you probably have a
better answer than I do forthis.

SPEAKER_03 (01:15:51):
Well, I mean, I think that the idea is that they
can attract that kind of playernow that they're gonna be on a
similar schedule.

SPEAKER_04 (01:15:57):
No, but I mean before, like with the other
schedule, did they attract thoseplayers once they were done with
their season in the spring tocome play some MLS during the
summer, make some extra money,or were they not doing that?

SPEAKER_03 (01:16:08):
I mean, you had a it was actually the other way
around.
You would actually have like uhDavid Beckham is a is a good
example.
Like when he was playing for LAGalaxy, he went to play on loan
for AC Milan to kind of staysharp, like you know,
particularly during World Cupyears and things like that.
So um Everton is another goodexample of that.

SPEAKER_04 (01:16:28):
Yeah, so so the MLS guy's going to the European
European the other way.

SPEAKER_03 (01:16:34):
Yeah, they go play in Europe.
I mean MLS has been uh MLS, Ithink, is moving to this because
they've been trying to shed thereputation for years that
they're a retirement league.
Right.
I mean, I mean it's kind ofbeen, yeah.
Well, but I'm you know what I'msaying.

SPEAKER_04 (01:16:50):
I mean Yeah, I get it.
Because I know like the biggername players that I know not
following soccer that I knowthat played MLS were that.
They were guys that are like,oh, I know who that guy is, and
he's just kind of like he's doneuh in the regular leagues.

SPEAKER_03 (01:17:04):
Yeah, I mean they were looking for they couldn't
get huge paydays in Europeanymore, so they were trying to
get one last payday that theyknew they could get here,
especially if they got a D Eastslot, a designated player slot.
But um, I think they're tryingto do it to try to make the to
make themselves a professionalleague.
I mean they they already are,but they're trying to be held in

(01:17:28):
the same conversations as theEnglish Premier League, as you
know, La Liga, as um Aerudivisi,Liga 1, I mean all these all
these other European leagues.
So they're they want to havethat same they want to have that
same uh name recognition, Iwould say.

(01:17:49):
Um even though the levels arenot the same.
I think that they'd like to havethat same prestige, I think is
probably what I'm trying to say.

SPEAKER_04 (01:17:56):
Well, they've got four things listed on their site
as as the benefits of thecalendar shift.
One, optimize global transfermarket activity, two, maximize
player signings, three, alignwith the FIFA calendar, and four
elevate their playoffs.
So that's their their goal.

SPEAKER_05 (01:18:13):
I'm glad you said playoffs because that was the
one thing I did think about.
Because right now playoffs aregoing on.

SPEAKER_04 (01:18:19):
Right.

SPEAKER_05 (01:18:20):
And how many times have you seen anything in the
news cycle about it with all theNFL college stuff going on?
We you know, we have WorldSeries during that time, it's a
lot more favorable.

SPEAKER_03 (01:18:31):
And they're hoping to get players more in their
prime so that way it doesn'tlike they're not they're not
missing games with uhinternational breaks um like
they do now.
Like MLS was MLS is one of thefew leagues that's been playing
through European and afterinternational breaks.
So you have guys that areconstantly the top players that

(01:18:54):
are constantly missing teams fortheir MLS clubs because they're
playing, you know, they'replaying for their national teams
when in the European leaguesthey're not even um that's not
even an issue because it's anit's an international break.
So so like you may go say thatyou're a Charlotte fan and you

(01:19:14):
wanted to see it's not reallythe case now, but say Wolfridge
Zaha was you know going to playfor is he is he playing for
Ivory Coast?
Oh, I've thought he was.
I like I know he's Ivory Coast,he's Ivory Coast Ivory Coast.
So if you wanted to go seeWolfridge Zaha play, right?

(01:19:36):
And he's on international dutyfor Ivory Coast, but Charlotte's
still playing, but they'replaying with like academy guys
because they they they losttheir DPs to international duty,
right?
So well it does say too thatwith the playoffs product
because you're you're watching agame that probably doesn't have
if it's two good teams, they'reprobably not playing all their

(01:19:58):
they don't have all their topplayers available.
You're paying them like topplayers, but you don't get all
of their availability.

SPEAKER_04 (01:20:04):
Yeah, I mean it shows that their playoffs will
now be in the in May, so itwould provide for better weather
and maximize what was the termthey used here, uh you know,
maximize attention andvisibility for the league's most
important matches.
So you're right.
I mean, like this time of year, like Ed said, nobody's watching
MLS playoffs because you gotcollege football, you got pro

(01:20:26):
football, um, and it just kindof gets lost in the shuffle.
And you have all like you said, all of the the European soccer
uh it comes across more uh moreviewable than even the MLS
playoffs.

SPEAKER_09 (01:20:40):
So are they trying to give themselves a sense of l
legitimacy?
Is that pretty much you know, let's just say call it by what
it is, right?
We'd want to be a legit league.

SPEAKER_03 (01:20:49):
Well, I think they want to I think they want to
attract the kind of players thatcan make them that.
Um I mean, yeah, you're notyou're not gonna get the biggest
world's biggest superstar inyour prime coming to MLS when
they can go right now to theEnglish Premier League.
But I think one day they wouldlike to be in that conversation.
Um they've been saying that foryears now, but there's but I

(01:21:12):
don't think that the I thinkthat sometimes now playing in
the states in the heat like theydo right now, um, that doesn't
help either playing through thesummer.
Or probably during the winter, middle of winter and snow.
Yeah, I mean it's a trade-off,right?
I mean, it's like Zach said, whowants to go to Minnesota in
February?
I mean, I've I remember watchingan Atlanta United game where

(01:21:33):
they were play basically playingin a blizzard against Minnesota.

SPEAKER_09 (01:21:37):
We just saw a championship going into a
blizzard.

SPEAKER_03 (01:21:39):
I mean, yeah, or like rail salt lake in January,
yeah.
No, I mean no thanks.
There's play, yeah, there'spluses and minuses to it, but
um, NBA's dying.

SPEAKER_09 (01:21:54):
I'm intrigued.
I'll say this.
Uh I'm not I'm not gonna be toojudgmental about it.
I'm good, I'm intrigued aboutit.
I mean, I think it it definitelywarrants a hey, let's see, let's
see how this goes, right?

SPEAKER_03 (01:22:05):
Because I'm also wondering there's there's some
MLS owners that now own Europeanclubs too.
Yep.
So I'm wondering if that becauseof the American investment in
European leagues, was thereinterest from the ownership to
do it for that reason as well?
I don't know.
I don't know that, and uh that'snot something they would

(01:22:25):
publicize, but I'm wondering ifthat's another outside benefit.

SPEAKER_05 (01:22:31):
I wouldn't rule that out.

SPEAKER_03 (01:22:35):
Like I use as an example, Stan Cronkey.
Doesn't he own the doesn't heown the Colorado Rabbids?

SPEAKER_04 (01:22:44):
I think so.

SPEAKER_03 (01:22:45):
Yeah, about to say I I thought he still I believe
that's correct, yeah.
Yeah, so and he owns Arsenal, soyou know maybe they could do
partnerships, I don't know.

SPEAKER_09 (01:22:56):
I mean that's it should be interesting.
I'm excited.

SPEAKER_03 (01:23:05):
Like Arsenal's gonna want someone playing the same
type of schedule that they are, they're not gonna want them
playing in Arsenal's closeseason.
They wanna they would want tobring them back for preseason
training and have them alignedwith what all of Arsenal's
players are doing.
So maybe it gives them a chanceto get like good loan players if
there's even European leaguesthat that want to get them.

(01:23:25):
So instead of only France andHolland, you know, the
Netherlands is a place to sendthem, um, or Spain to a lesser
degree, they could maybe sendthem to the states.
Again, pure speculation for me,but I'm just trying to think out
loud with some possible reasonswhy.

SPEAKER_09 (01:23:45):
They had to be this had to be years in the making,
though, right?
For them to finally say, Allright, let's go ahead and move
this right because they're alsotrying to put a turnover.

SPEAKER_05 (01:23:55):
I don't think this was years in the making.
I can see this as being a rashmove, honestly.

SPEAKER_04 (01:23:59):
Um, it's again, it says it's what they put out, but
the the thing I was just lookingat, let me go back to it.
Um it said they started thischange in 2023.
Uh, where was it at?

(01:24:21):
Uh it was on here somewhere.
It said that was it actually wasa few years in the making.
Yeah, it was a two-year process.
This change follows a two-yearreview process that began in
October 2023.
Feedback from owners, clubexecutives, players, and the
players association partners andfans.
So they've they've been doingall kinds of this says they've

(01:24:42):
even conducted extensive weatherand logistics and analysis to to
uh figure things out as well.
So uh choosing the cold over theheat.
Yeah, they are there it is.
I mean, you you want to playsoccer in Charlotte in July,
running around for 90 minutes.
Dehydration is no joke, exactly.

(01:25:04):
So I don't blame them for that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:25:06):
Well, also you already heard the complaints uh
about the club world cup beingover here, right?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
So you're trying to when you'retrying to attract players, you
are gonna take weather intoaccount because while the South
American and Central Americanplayers who already play in MLS
are used to this, the Europeanplayers are not.

(01:25:27):
And then you throw in the tralike travel in England is much
different than trying to youknow play play away in MLS,
yeah, like like in England, youget on a bus and you're there in
a couple hours.
In MLS, you may be flyingcross-country, right?
Exactly.

SPEAKER_09 (01:25:44):
And I think also it they have to do with like a lot
of our players are also theyhave a my guess is they played
in in Europe before, so they'reused to that kind of uh
schedule, even Latin America,right?
So I'm sure they're used tothat, and they're like, yeah,
no, that's I think it's a greatidea.
I think it's a much better uhway of uh playing.

(01:26:10):
I mean it's yet to be determinedhow this is gonna play out,
right?
But I my what I'm also thinkingabout is is the USL portion of
this, right?
They I they obviously they'renot thinking about the USL, they
they don't care, right?
But the fact that USL is alsocoming up with their own league,
when is it that they're gonna beuh playing now?
Like, you know, what year, whattime of the year are they gonna

(01:26:31):
because I haven't announcedanything as far as like the
professional league.
I know North Carolina FC,they're seizing operations in
2026 uh to get ready for that.

SPEAKER_05 (01:26:40):
Can we can we talk about that for a part for a
minute?

SPEAKER_09 (01:26:44):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:26:45):
Was part of the deal you had to cease operations, or
is that their choice?
Because I think it's theirchoice.
Okay, I was kind of surprised.
When we read it, I was kind ofwith you thinking, okay, that
makes sense.
And then when I saw they wereceasing operations, I'm like,
okay, why are they doing that?

SPEAKER_09 (01:27:02):
They're also trying to get a new stadium uh built.
So I think they're trying tolike they're just trying to want
to start fresh.
I don't know if it's part of thedeal.
I not I haven't heard any otherteam do that, but I guess I
think they're the first team tosay we're gonna put a bid for
the championship, uh, orwhatever they're gonna be
calling it.

SPEAKER_05 (01:27:22):
Okay, because if that's part of the deal, I think
that's gonna be a harder sellfor a lot of those teams,
especially some of the smallerones where you kind of actually
need to play.

SPEAKER_04 (01:27:29):
I think it's a choice.
Like we as we talked about thislast week on Breakfast Takes
when we first heard the newsabout it, because it was in
North Carolina, and um and thefact that they're having to
they're gonna have to build astadium to play in, they're
gonna have so many other thingsto do.
Uh, I think it was just a choicefor them to say, look, we're
we're not gonna keep runningthis team while we're trying to
do that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:27:50):
Yeah, we're they don't want to play, they don't
want to put out a watered-downproduct when their focus is
somewhere else.

SPEAKER_04 (01:27:56):
They would rather you know cut ties, let these
guys find somewhere else toplay, go figure that stuff out,
and we're just gonna focus ongetting a stadium built and and
start the process and basicallytry to get ahead of the curve on
anybody else that hasn't madetheir decision yet.

SPEAKER_05 (01:28:15):
I mean, it's I have nothing against it if that if
the fans are okay with that andthat works.
I've just it surprised me when Isaw that.

SPEAKER_09 (01:28:23):
See, oh it surprised me.
I just I don't I it's yet to bedetermined if it's gonna play
out, right?
Because we don't know what'sgonna happen.
We don't know there's so manyifs right now, we don't know
what the other teams are gonnabe.

SPEAKER_04 (01:28:39):
We don't like and and like you said, we don't know
what the schedule's gonna be.
I mean, were this is anotherthing.
Were they considering a Europeancalendar, you know, following
the calendar, internationalcalendar?
Um, and MLS was trying to kindof beat them to the punch a
little bit by making thechampion announcing this, and
also being like, you know, we'regonna switch to this.

(01:29:00):
I I mean I could see you um USLkeeping their lower divisions
maybe on the summer schedule, and maybe those feed into this
new division one they're doingthat would play an international
style calendar, possibly.
Um so I don't know.
I mean, it hasn't beenannounced, so I could be totally
just spitballing speculationhere, and and and and really I

(01:29:23):
am, but I mean that makes senseto me as like okay, they
probably got win, these guys aregonna do this.
Let's let's do something too.

SPEAKER_03 (01:29:32):
I was gonna say I don't think the USL is gonna
play a different format in theirtop league versus their lower
leagues.
I mean, I think they're allgonna play.
They're all moving to one.
I think they're all gonna beunified in when they play.

SPEAKER_04 (01:29:47):
Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03 (01:29:48):
I I would guess.
I mean, I I can't imagine that.
And that makes sense to staywith if you're doing a like a
like a promotion relegationmodel, you're not gonna have the
top league play one styleschedule and then have your
lower leagues playing adifferent type of schedule.
Like look at look at the PremierLeague and the English
Championship.
I mean, they're right.
I mean, they they play they playmore games in the championship,

(01:30:12):
um, and they play more times aweek in in a lot of cases.
I mean, it's probably the mostgrueling league in world
football, if you really want todo it.
I think they play was it 46games or something rather than
30 rather than 38.

SPEAKER_09 (01:30:26):
So they play different, obviously, they don't
play the same days as their thehigher division, but still, like
I mean that's well they do.

SPEAKER_03 (01:30:35):
I mean Saturday, Sunday, and they they will play
on the Tuesday.
It's just that um it happensmore often that they have
midweek games because they playabout eight more fixtures
because there's what is it 24teams in the championship?

SPEAKER_05 (01:30:53):
Yes.

SPEAKER_03 (01:30:54):
Do you play each one twice?
Yes.
So it's 48, not 46 games.
It's 48 games.
Yay, I can finally do math.
Um anyways, yeah.
Remember my substantial quality.
24 teams.
My substantial quality.
Um but yeah, it's um I thinkthat there's a chance if the USL

(01:31:19):
is trying to do their own thing, they're gonna be aligned in the
model that they play.
If they know I I think thatthey're probably gonna keep step
playing with the model thatthey're already playing with,
but I mean they did they theydid get the current um head of
the you know, the currentpresident of the Premier League
to come over or the is it thefootball league or the Premier

(01:31:41):
League that they got to comeover here?
Yeah, to come over and run theUSL.
So that's a humongous coup.
And that gives them someone oneof you threw out the word
legitimacy earlier, and I thinkthat's exactly yeah, I guess you
yeah, it was you, Ed.
Um the that's exactly whatthat's it's

SPEAKER_09 (01:31:59):
Brings legitimacy.

SPEAKER_03 (01:32:00):
It's bringing, yeah, it creates legitimacy for USL,
which is something they need.
Um, oh, for sure.

SPEAKER_09 (01:32:05):
If they're gonna be known as the minor league
system, right?

SPEAKER_03 (01:32:08):
Well, if they're gonna be a viable alternative to
MLS, they oh 100%, yeah.
And they can kind of be theanti-MLS in a lot of ways.
Um, because not everyone is avery is a fan of the way MLS has
been you know conducting itselfover the last several years.

SPEAKER_06 (01:32:25):
Yeah, yep.

SPEAKER_03 (01:32:27):
Well, hence he doesn't watch it.
Yeah, well, I mean uh I supportbecause I've got like a team
locally, and it at least givesme an outlet to go watch
football, but we had a teamhere, but it's gotta it's gonna
be interesting for bothCharlotte and Atlanta, um, since

(01:32:48):
they share a stadium with an NFLteam.
Yep.

SPEAKER_04 (01:32:52):
That's what I was worried about, is what's that
what's gonna do to that with thechangeover.

SPEAKER_03 (01:32:57):
Well, and we're already seeing some of that, you
know.
Like like we already see some ofthat with MLS currently, because
there are it's just I think it'sgonna make scheduling that much
tougher, though, because nowyou're going through the entire
NFL season.

SPEAKER_09 (01:33:13):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (01:33:15):
At the same time, we it's just like you start out
like you like you like you'vegot the way MLS is now, you kind
of start out in March or so.
So before you know, you haveseveral months before you get
into the NFL season that you canschedule games.
You get into this, you'regetting in at the start of
football.

SPEAKER_04 (01:33:34):
Well, you pretty much you'd probably you would
probably just block out Sundays.

SPEAKER_03 (01:33:38):
Yeah, I guess it's just gonna flip the schedule
where you're where you're gonnahave a lot of home games.
Like well, uh because now you'rejust flipping it now that I'm
thinking about it.
Like like now for Atlanta, Ican't speak for Charlotte, but
like Atlanta has a lot of homegames toward the beginning of
the season, um, right now, because of the Falcons and

(01:33:59):
everything else, and they theykind of they have them all like
clustered together, and thenI'll play like four straight
home games, but then I won't seethem play for two months.

SPEAKER_09 (01:34:08):
But you know, at the same time though, like I mean,
get you know, we're talkingabout Atlanta and and Charlotte,
right?
But uh Charlotte doesn't inAtlanta they don't play all
their home games you know backto back to back, so there could
be some alternating schedulesthere.
Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (01:34:25):
Yeah, there is.
It's just now you're uh I don'tknow, in my head it made a lot
more sense what I was saying, but I but now that I'm thinking
about it, it doesn't really makea lot of sense.
It just it just flips when youhave the NFL schedule, right?

SPEAKER_04 (01:34:39):
Right now, like in the new model, it would be the
beginning of the season whereyou've got all the headaches
over the first half of theseason, whereas right now it's
the second half of the seasonwhere you have those uh you've
only got to really worry abouteight eight weekends, eight
Sundays that you've got to say, okay, there's gonna be eight
Sundays that we can't that we'llhave to work around.

(01:34:59):
Yeah.
And the NFL schedule, I mean,I'm sure the NFL schedule comes
out way more in advance thantheir schedule will.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35:07):
So it'll be interesting to see.

SPEAKER_04 (01:35:10):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35:11):
Mike said, How about Gio Reina finally getting
callback up for the Americanteam and balling out a few days
ago?

SPEAKER_05 (01:35:17):
Very glad he got a goal, but man, I feel like he's
the most polarizing player onthe team.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35:22):
And can I tell you this, and it's not necessarily
his fault, but someone who Ifind even more polarizing than
Gio Reina is Claudia Reyna.

SPEAKER_05 (01:35:31):
Oh, yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35:33):
I have I have not been a Claudia Reyna fan since
he was a player.
That's just me.
I I disliked him even more as anexecutive than a player.

SPEAKER_09 (01:35:43):
And this is the point where Ed and Donnie just
sit back and enjoy the show.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35:48):
So so Claudia Reyna, just so you both know, was a
U.S.
men's national team player.
That's Gio's dad.

unknown (01:35:54):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35:54):
And he was the U.S.
Men's national team.
Well, I figure that part.
Yeah, but but he was also anexecutive for um Manchester City
and New York City FC.
And then he then he s then he uhuh then he then he left them, he
left City Football Group to moveover to Austin FC.
But he got in a a heated rowwith uh former US men's national

(01:36:20):
team coach Greg Berhalter overhis son not being selected about
his son's playing time or lackthereof with the national team.
And it's like it did not thatdid not do Gio any favors.
No, um, he didn't deserve to beplaying at the time that he
wasn't playing.
As much as I disagree with GregBearhalter on many levels, that

(01:36:42):
was not one of them.

SPEAKER_05 (01:36:44):
Uh I don't agree with you on that.
I don't think I think he shouldhave at least gotten a call up,
and that was the problem.
He should not have gottenstarting minutes.
I that I I would say that is hewas doing that's what I meant.

SPEAKER_03 (01:36:54):
I meant that he shouldn't get starting minutes.

SPEAKER_05 (01:36:56):
Yeah, he should not have gotten starting minutes,
but I mean like his time atDortmund, I think, deserved a
little bit at least more thanwhat was given.

SPEAKER_03 (01:37:04):
Yeah.
No, it was ugly, yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:37:07):
It was ugly, yes.

SPEAKER_03 (01:37:08):
Yeah, but but uh but I think that I think my point is
Claudio Reyna didn't in tryingto help his son, did his son did
the opposite.
I think he did yeah, he did himwith this uh absolutely no
favors as far as I wasconcerned.

SPEAKER_05 (01:37:23):
And as for as for Gio, um, I know he landed at uh
Borussia Munch and Glodbach.
So I know again what what wasthat club again?
Borussia Munching Gladbach.

SPEAKER_03 (01:37:35):
I love the way I love that one.
Thank you.

SPEAKER_05 (01:37:37):
Yeah, I used to follow them because they had
Fabian Johnson and um I knowthey have another American, I
think Joe Scowly, I think, isstill there, the defense
defenseman.

SPEAKER_00 (01:37:46):
Boyd, right?

SPEAKER_05 (01:37:47):
No, not Boyd, not Boyd.
I'm not gonna go off a I'm notgonna go on the Boyd band uh
tangent here.
But after he he had a fallingout with Dortman.
So this is kind of uh a secondchance, though, especially the
German league.
I'd like to see him produce morethan Gladbach.
I mean, at first it starts justusing the minutes he gets, and

(01:38:08):
hopefully eventually into astart starting role.
Like the kid's got talent forsure, but I think sometimes he
gets in his own way.

SPEAKER_03 (01:38:15):
Well, I mean, I think he had I think he's like a
lot of American kids or like youknow, US internationals that had
he's one of those ones that hadtoo much success too early.
Because I mean he he did really, really well with Dortmund, and
then everyone was like, he's thenext Christian Polisic, and
everyone he was like oneveryone's list of the the next
big money signing for a PremierLeague club.

(01:38:37):
And yeah, that was already thatwas that was already he was
overhyped before he had a chanceto really grow.
And he like you said, hebelieved his own hype, yeah.
And he and he and he would havewell he didn't he he he just
didn't do enough as far asdiscipline.
He um he wouldn't you know showup late for things, he would,

(01:38:59):
you know, so there were therewere problems with that, and
then he would lose playing time, and then it I think his
confidence went at some pointwhen it was like, oh, I can't
just rely on talent alone.
Uh I need I don't have the workethic to go along with it.
And I'm hoping as he gets olderthat that he's learning that,
but um, I've not been followinghim closely in the last couple
of years, but um I saw with himoriginally is didn't he go to

(01:39:25):
Nottingham Forest too and notreally play?

SPEAKER_05 (01:39:28):
I vaguely remember I don't I don't think he ever
played there, did he?

SPEAKER_03 (01:39:32):
I know he was supposed to go there.

SPEAKER_05 (01:39:34):
Let me look at that one obviously I don't remember.

SPEAKER_03 (01:39:37):
Donnie Donnie was telling me about it, and I was
just like, I couldn't rememberwhat year that was, and Donnie
was trying to educate me.
I don't remember him logging anyminutes at Forest.
Donnie, you're on mute.

SPEAKER_04 (01:39:53):
Was that like 2013 or something?
I don't know.

SPEAKER_05 (01:39:55):
No, he had nine appearances at Nottingham
Forest.
I I thought he played there.

SPEAKER_03 (01:40:00):
Oh Mike knows Yeah.
Thank you, Donnie.

SPEAKER_04 (01:40:06):
Try to help.

SPEAKER_03 (01:40:11):
But yeah, I mean he he just not not the same type of
thing, but like I think aboutFreddie Ido and some of these
other players, it's like youknow, they they were so good so
early, and then it just eitherthrough injury or other reasons.

SPEAKER_04 (01:40:29):
Did he have a brother howdy ado?

SPEAKER_05 (01:40:35):
No, bye.
Everyone, just please have awe're just gonna have a minute's
silence.

SPEAKER_04 (01:40:45):
I'll I'll sit over here and mute myself.

SPEAKER_05 (01:40:47):
Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Good idea.
You know, I was gonna say thatin that game, I was excited to
see uh Balligan on the scoresheet.

SPEAKER_00 (01:40:58):
Oh, Balligan.

SPEAKER_05 (01:40:59):
Yeah, and I said he's gonna be the Arsenal
product.
He's doing good, he's doingpretty good in Monaco.

SPEAKER_09 (01:41:05):
I I didn't think he was gonna stay at at Arsenal,
but Danny, we would we would youand me would have been sitting
here anyways, because we have noidea what they're talking about.

SPEAKER_04 (01:41:15):
I know, and Mike's right, I am priceless.

SPEAKER_05 (01:41:18):
You guys need to know your national team players,
that's all I'm saying.

SPEAKER_03 (01:41:21):
Jeez.
But listen, whenever Mike sayspriceless, all I can think of is
do you remember the widereceiver Pierreless Price?

SPEAKER_04 (01:41:32):
Yeah, I do.

SPEAKER_03 (01:41:35):
You Freddy, you do?

SPEAKER_05 (01:41:37):
No, don't start that either.

SPEAKER_00 (01:41:41):
Uh not me.

SPEAKER_05 (01:41:42):
But guys, it's it's it's time to do something.
I've teased this, this wasteased a few weeks ago about Ed
picking a little Liga team.

SPEAKER_07 (01:41:53):
Oh I totally forgot about this.

SPEAKER_05 (01:41:56):
I didn't work I didn't either.
So I went back and see can Ifind the old wheel that I made
for Donnie?
And luckily, that wheel has beensaved.

SPEAKER_08 (01:42:05):
Oh my god, of course you know.

SPEAKER_05 (01:42:07):
Ed, I'm going to give you a choice.

SPEAKER_08 (01:42:09):
Okay.

SPEAKER_05 (01:42:11):
Do you want for us to pick you a Liga team?
Or do you trust the wheel?

SPEAKER_09 (01:42:22):
The problem we trust into wheel is they there's gonna
be some shitty teams on there.

SPEAKER_05 (01:42:30):
And there's gonna be Barcelona and Real Madrid, too.

SPEAKER_09 (01:42:33):
That is true, that is also very true.

SPEAKER_04 (01:42:35):
Could you take the two of them off and the bottom
six?

SPEAKER_08 (01:42:41):
The bottom six?
Bottom seven.

SPEAKER_09 (01:42:44):
There's not that many teams in La Liga.

SPEAKER_04 (01:42:46):
All right.
Okay, I'll tell you.
Okay, or the bottom, uh, a fewof the bottom ones.
Giving the mid, give him themid.

SPEAKER_05 (01:42:53):
Let me look at the let me look at their look, let
me look at the current La Ligatable.
Okay, I got it right here.
All right, so what I will do is20 of them.
I will remove top two and bottomtwo.

SPEAKER_09 (01:43:06):
No, my first thought was OBA though, but yeah, no,
get rid of OBA, it'll get rid ofLevante and get rid of uh Real
OBA though is a good club.

SPEAKER_05 (01:43:19):
Okay, okay, okay.
Here's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to remove Real Madrid.
I'm going to remove Barcelona, and I'm going to remove Atletico
Madrid because you and Donniecannot have the same team.

SPEAKER_09 (01:43:30):
I can I can agree with that.

SPEAKER_05 (01:43:32):
And then I will remove the three bottom ones.

SPEAKER_04 (01:43:35):
Okay.
That leaves you 14 options.
Middle table, basically.

SPEAKER_05 (01:43:41):
So let me go in and remove these.

SPEAKER_09 (01:43:44):
Mallorca's still there, Villarreal is still
there.

SPEAKER_03 (01:43:47):
I'm going to hope you get Cesar Esp the Quetta FC,
okay?

SPEAKER_05 (01:43:53):
One moment, please like update the wheel.

SPEAKER_03 (01:43:56):
You what?

SPEAKER_09 (01:43:57):
He says one moment while he updates the wheel.

SPEAKER_03 (01:44:00):
Well, uh, I know that Virgil knows who Cesar Aspi
the Queta FC is.
Yeah.
Cesar Aspidequeta FC.

unknown (01:44:12):
Yep.

SPEAKER_05 (01:44:13):
Oh, god.
I've gonna feel bad because Idon't remember.

SPEAKER_03 (01:44:17):
Uh no one really calls it that.
I just do, just to feel better.
Oh Sasuna.

SPEAKER_07 (01:44:22):
Oh, say it Osasuna?
Okay.

SPEAKER_03 (01:44:24):
Yeah, before he ever went to Marseille.
That's right.
Didn't he go back there after hegot done at Donnie's club?

SPEAKER_05 (01:44:33):
I have to go back.
I don't remember his history asmuch.

SPEAKER_03 (01:44:36):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:44:37):
All right.
So I've removed the top three.
Well, I mean, not the top three, but Real's still there, but I've
removed Barcelona, Real Madrid,um, Atletico Madrid, uh Girona,
Levante, and Real Oviedo.

SPEAKER_03 (01:44:53):
So he's playing at Sevilla now.
I'm sorry.
I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_05 (01:44:57):
Okay.

SPEAKER_03 (01:44:57):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_05 (01:44:58):
So Ed, are you ready for the wheel?

SPEAKER_09 (01:45:01):
I'm nervous.

SPEAKER_08 (01:45:04):
I'm super nervous.
So, which team did you get ridof?

SPEAKER_05 (01:45:09):
Uh, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid.

SPEAKER_03 (01:45:14):
Okay.

SPEAKER_05 (01:45:15):
And then I got rid of uh Girona, Girona, Levante,
and Real Oviedo.

SPEAKER_03 (01:45:22):
He's gonna get a good club regardless of what he
gets.

SPEAKER_05 (01:45:25):
Uh, there's some few strikers in there he don't know
about yet.
Yeah, I know I've seen him.

SPEAKER_03 (01:45:28):
I've seen them.
No, he's gonna get a labes.

SPEAKER_05 (01:45:31):
All right, alabes.
Alabas.
I am personally hoping forsomething like it.

SPEAKER_03 (01:45:39):
I'm hoping for El Che.
Elche.
Give me some.

SPEAKER_00 (01:45:45):
El Che, El Che, El Che.

SPEAKER_04 (01:45:49):
Oh, that's a long name.
Which one is that?

SPEAKER_00 (01:45:51):
Rayo Baycano?

SPEAKER_05 (01:45:52):
Rayo Balcano.
Decent club.
A respectable mid-table club.

SPEAKER_00 (01:45:57):
Yep.
Rayo Baycano.

SPEAKER_05 (01:46:00):
Let's look them up.

SPEAKER_00 (01:46:01):
Rayo Baycano.

SPEAKER_05 (01:46:06):
They are currently sitting in 12th.
At a three-game win streak,though, currently.

SPEAKER_03 (01:46:11):
Yeah, they're in good form.
Hey, who are them Rayo VallicanoValley Can Ray Vallicanos at?
Who are those Ray Canes?

SPEAKER_05 (01:46:21):
Rayo Bell, the Rayo Volcanoes.

SPEAKER_03 (01:46:24):
Y'all, I need me.
I need I'm gonna go watch mesome of them Rayo Valley Canoes.

SPEAKER_09 (01:46:28):
Rayo Valcanos.
Let's take a look at that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:46:31):
Man, that sounds like a yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (01:46:34):
They were real valley canos.

SPEAKER_09 (01:46:37):
They were established in 1924.
Yep.
They only have a Twitter page.
From what I see.
It's probably not English.
It's not.
Thankfully, for me.
Oh no, they got a Twitter, a uha uh Instagram page.

(01:46:59):
I was just about to say, I knowthey have an Instagram.

SPEAKER_04 (01:47:02):
Well they're they're only the third team in Madrid
behind Real Madrid and my guys,Atletica Madrid.

SPEAKER_05 (01:47:10):
Now, Ed, I am a very generous person on this show.

SPEAKER_09 (01:47:13):
Okay.
Okay.

SPEAKER_05 (01:47:17):
Would you like to have a respin knowing that you
cannot veto whatever shows up?
Or do you want to stick withthis team?

SPEAKER_04 (01:47:29):
Wow, I was giving you the Bob Barker deal.

SPEAKER_05 (01:47:35):
Stay tuned for next week when we pick Donnie's
friends.

SPEAKER_04 (01:47:38):
Actually, this actually that's more of a deal
or no deal.
That's like a Howie Mandalething, actually.

SPEAKER_09 (01:47:43):
Here's the thing though.
If I if I stay with the okay,they're a mid they're a
mid-table team, right?
For now.
For now.
For now.
Yeah.
But then you got some someteams.

SPEAKER_05 (01:47:57):
Well, you also can go higher, too.
You can have a team with uhEuropean aspirations.

SPEAKER_03 (01:48:03):
So why couldn't we give him Deportivo La Coruña?

SPEAKER_05 (01:48:06):
Because they are not La Liga.

SPEAKER_03 (01:48:08):
Exactly.

SPEAKER_09 (01:48:13):
But they used to be.
But they used to be.
Not anymore, they're not.
You know what?
I'm feeling lucky.

SPEAKER_05 (01:48:22):
You want another spin.

SPEAKER_09 (01:48:24):
Let's see.
Let's do what we got.

SPEAKER_05 (01:48:25):
Okay.

SPEAKER_03 (01:48:27):
He's gonna end up with Villa Real.

SPEAKER_09 (01:48:29):
Yeah, yeah.
I'm gonna end up with like thebottom team or something.
I can tell.

SPEAKER_03 (01:48:33):
No, you want to end up with Villa Real.
They're they're a good one.

SPEAKER_09 (01:48:36):
Yeah, I I I would like Villarreal or or Mallorca.

SPEAKER_05 (01:48:39):
And just for fairness, I am removing Rayo
Vecano off the list.

SPEAKER_08 (01:48:46):
Oh my word.

SPEAKER_05 (01:48:48):
So here are the teams that are left.
Santo Vigo Osasuna, Espanol,Athletic Club Lobel.

SPEAKER_03 (01:48:58):
He does love Iago Aspas, so you know that so uh
Celta Vigo may be good for him.

SPEAKER_05 (01:49:03):
That's true.
Um Real Sociedad, Villa Real, ElChe, Santo Vigo, Valencia,
Deportiva, Tiba Avalas, Alabas,Real Batis, Getafe, Sevilla, and
Getafe.
Sevilla, GT, Mallorca.

(01:49:25):
Mallorca.
So you got it.
So you ready?

SPEAKER_09 (01:49:28):
Do it.
Alright.
Oh god.
Oh god.
Oh god.

SPEAKER_04 (01:49:34):
Well, if he gets Mallorca, that's three, three
below the T.

SPEAKER_03 (01:49:40):
I knew it.

SPEAKER_08 (01:49:41):
Did I not say that was a man?

SPEAKER_07 (01:49:49):
I'll stick with this one.

SPEAKER_05 (01:49:51):
That was tense, man.
I was I was really listening.

SPEAKER_07 (01:49:54):
I was sweating.
I'm sweating right now.

SPEAKER_03 (01:49:56):
I'm not gonna lie.
Well, listen, he couldn't havedone, he couldn't have done
badly in in the middle of thethree that he was in.
VRL, sociat, or athletic bilbao.

SPEAKER_05 (01:50:05):
Yeah, you you had three good choices there.

SPEAKER_09 (01:50:08):
Oh god, I was I'm sweating.
I'm not gonna lie, guys.

SPEAKER_08 (01:50:10):
I'm I'm sweating.
Why'd you offer him that,Virgil?
Golly.
Because I'm like, I like a gameof you don't follow a La Liga
team, anyways, Patrick.

SPEAKER_09 (01:50:21):
Me?

SPEAKER_08 (01:50:22):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_09 (01:50:23):
Yeah, true.

SPEAKER_05 (01:50:24):
Do you want a La Liga team?
Do you want to take a spin onthe wheel?
I think you should, Patrick.

SPEAKER_07 (01:50:30):
I think you really should.

SPEAKER_08 (01:50:33):
I think you really should get into it.
I used to I used to likeBarcelona, but then I but then I
really No, you can't we can't gowith the with the with those
teams, right?

SPEAKER_03 (01:50:41):
We can go I said I used to like them, but then
after they started uh you knowpulling out financial levers
just to play to play to assignplayers outside of rules, I was
like, nope, I'm good.
So I think both you and Virgilshould pick a team.

SPEAKER_01 (01:50:59):
Ooh, it would be fun to name a Spanish team with
Virgil in it.

SPEAKER_05 (01:51:05):
I don't have a all right, Mike.

SPEAKER_09 (01:51:07):
Have a good night, buddy.
I do not have a little ligateam.
That's what I'm saying.
And then we could follow the LaLiga.
Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03 (01:51:16):
You know how I love how Mike is gonna get his rest
for tomorrow night's show.
I know he's way not for work, not for work for tomorrow
night's show.

SPEAKER_05 (01:51:25):
Like, tomorrow night show is going to be an absolute
mess.
Like, I'm already saying I haveno control over that show.
Patrick, do you want to spendthe wheel?

SPEAKER_03 (01:51:35):
Uh why not for the heck of it?
Okay.
Even though Donnie and eventhough Donnie and uh Ed have
already taken the good teams.

SPEAKER_04 (01:51:45):
Well, and the thing is, you said something about
Virgil having a team, and it'slike uh Vilreal's gone.
Well, that could have beenVirgil Real.

SPEAKER_05 (01:51:52):
It could have been.
Okay, change a plan.
I want I want Villa Real nowbecause of Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04 (01:52:01):
How about I mean just for the content of this
show, even if you don't havefandom beyond the show, you
should have a sh have a team.

SPEAKER_03 (01:52:09):
I'll take that.
Real Patines?
Yeah, I mean, Conference Leaguefinalists last year.
Yeah.
Yeah, and by the way, they're uhI mean the the only bad part
about them is they've got uhformer Manchester United product
Anthony that plays for them, butum I don't like his dancing over

(01:52:30):
the ball and not actually movinganywhere, but hey, they're
green.
Reminds me of Donnie with money,so um, so you know I'll call him
Donnie FC.
The truth is they actually don'thave money.
Did you get Sevilla?

SPEAKER_05 (01:52:51):
I love Tal.
Oh my gosh, I love Talb.

SPEAKER_03 (01:52:54):
Wait, so so you got Severgil?
I got Sevilla.
No, you got Severgil.
Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_05 (01:53:00):
I was hoping Valencia, so I can say Valencia.
I can't think I can't sayVirgil.
Virgilencia?

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:05):
Valencia, but uh no, you got Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_05 (01:53:08):
Severgil, yeah.
I will take Sevilla.

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:10):
Yeah, no, Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_05 (01:53:14):
Huh.
Okay, so that is our which iskind of funny because I do
follow Sevilla pretty close.

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:19):
So who does Sevurgil play this weekend?

SPEAKER_05 (01:53:22):
I was afraid you're gonna ask me that because I did
not have it up.

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:24):
Sevilla plays uh you're gonna need to get the
name of the call.

SPEAKER_05 (01:53:29):
It is Sevurgil.
Espanyol.
They play Espanol, but you knowwho they play the week after?

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:34):
Uh Rail Batiste.
Uh Rail Batista againstSevurgil.
By the way, you guys stopcalling them Sevilla, they're
Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_05 (01:53:46):
I gotta call them Sevilla.
I can't call them Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:48):
Call them Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_09 (01:53:49):
I thought somehow I got to see you spin and get
Sevilla.
But I couldn't talk to you anyof you guys.

SPEAKER_03 (01:53:57):
No, it's it's not Sevilla, it's Sevurgil.

SPEAKER_09 (01:54:00):
So I apologize.
Sevirgil, but I I actually gotto see that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:54:05):
Listen, I love that I'm manifesting this.
I'm so grateful that I'mactually more excited about
Virgil's pick than mine.
Um, because now I get to call ituh a football team Savirgil.
This makes me very, very happy, makes my night.

SPEAKER_05 (01:54:17):
I was expecting to land on um probably like
Valencia or L T.
But yeah, L C was the one I waslike, not LJ, please.

SPEAKER_03 (01:54:24):
I was sure I was gonna get L Chay after after
hoping that Ed would get them.

SPEAKER_05 (01:54:28):
I would have taken Ibar over LJ, and I bar is not
even in Liva right now.

SPEAKER_09 (01:54:32):
But the fact that I, you know, we actually got some
decent tease, I'm okay withthis.

SPEAKER_03 (01:54:37):
Yeah, you should have Rayo Bayacan, though, but
you know, I I was the choice.

SPEAKER_09 (01:54:42):
I gave him the choice.
You can give you the choice aswell, but you know, you're
talking too much shit.

SPEAKER_03 (01:54:47):
And you know, I'm talking what, excuse me.
You heard it.
This is a family show.
We don't use like this is athought show, we don't use
language like that.

SPEAKER_09 (01:54:56):
1030 at night.
There's no there's no familyshow here.

SPEAKER_05 (01:54:58):
Don't forget, you guys vetoed my NFL wheel pick
and then got me a whole better,a lot better one thanks to
Matthew Stafford's working back.

SPEAKER_08 (01:55:07):
Your team looked good, dude.

SPEAKER_03 (01:55:09):
Yeah, and by the way, have you noticed the uptick
in form ever since I renamedthem the Valiant Virgils?
Absolutely.

SPEAKER_05 (01:55:17):
I mean let's go with that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:55:19):
I mean, I mean, since I named him the Valiant
Virgils, has Matthew Staffordeven thrown a pick?

SPEAKER_05 (01:55:24):
I believe he has not.

SPEAKER_03 (01:55:26):
Um I mean, listen, listen, we just need to get
Virgil on the side of thathelmet, and that man's winning
MVP.
He is the favorite to win theMVP right now.

SPEAKER_05 (01:55:36):
Is he really?

SPEAKER_03 (01:55:37):
According to the betting odds.

SPEAKER_05 (01:55:38):
I did not know that.

SPEAKER_03 (01:55:39):
Yeah, like I accord I don't know about every
betting, you know, like you knowVegas, it's gonna be different
odds for every every place, butthe the the latest odds I saw
from the ESPN one today, sorry,I know that's not the most uh
you know the best betting place, but since they since they talk
about it ad nauseum, uh they hadthe shortest odds.

(01:56:03):
Did I say they're odd shortestodds?
Yeah, I don't I don't speakbetting, but um the shortest
odds were uh were uh MatthewStafford, and then it was um I
think it was Drake May, and thenJosh Allen after his auto
gram-like performance again.

(01:56:24):
And um and then um yeah, twice, second time he's done it, three
rushing touchdowns and threepassing touchdowns, but we'll
talk about that tomorrow night.
Um and then uh I think JonathanTaylor was fourth, best odds.
So um those were the top four.

SPEAKER_05 (01:56:45):
So guys, those are all the Liga teams.
So Virgil pretty happy overall.

SPEAKER_03 (01:56:51):
I that is that's I am not gonna say Oh, don't
worry, I'll make sure it sticks.

SPEAKER_09 (01:56:58):
I'm satisfied.

SPEAKER_05 (01:57:00):
But guys, let's talk some World Cup qualifiers for a
minute.
And I want to start in theAfrican and the in AFCON because
I was watching this game um to acompletion because this was a um
this is not involving adebutante, but it's a result I

(01:57:22):
was really looking forward toseeing.
And that was Nigeria losing tothe Democratic Republic of Congo
in penalties.
And man, watching that game mademe realize that um I really
thought Nigeria was going toturn it around after that, and

(01:57:44):
they were not able to.
Um Republic of Congo had a I'msorry, Democratic Republic of
Congo can't say Republic ofCongo, it has two different
places, had a goal line uh stopthat I thought was in, but VAR
did not call that in.
So they really could have won inregulation, but that did not

(01:58:04):
happen.
Uh so they came and played onpenalties, and the loss was so
bad that the Nigeria manager isblaming voodoo on it.

SPEAKER_04 (01:58:11):
I saw that.
I said you guys that ishilarious.
He's like, he was over theredoing some kind of voodoo or
something, and it's like almostlike that's not right.

SPEAKER_03 (01:58:22):
So so does that put the Democratic Republic of Congo
in the World Cup now?

SPEAKER_05 (01:58:26):
That puts them in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_03 (01:58:30):
That's right.

SPEAKER_05 (01:58:31):
So so does that mean Nigeria now is now out of yes,
Nigeria is officially eliminatedfrom World Cup qualifications.

SPEAKER_03 (01:58:39):
You know whose fault that is John Obi McKell's
podcast.

SPEAKER_05 (01:58:44):
Oh, I thought I thought you were gonna say the
kicking game.

SPEAKER_03 (01:58:47):
Well, well, that too.
Obviously.

SPEAKER_05 (01:58:49):
Obviously.

SPEAKER_03 (01:58:51):
Terrible.

SPEAKER_05 (01:58:53):
So there are two spots that are still available
in the uh in the intercon in theinterconfederational tournament.
So right now there are threeteams already in it.
It is Democratic Republic ofCongo out of the CAF, which is
Africa.
We've got Bolivia out of SouthAmerica, and we have New

(01:59:18):
Caledonia out of Oceania.
So CONCACAF will get two spotswith the third round, best two
group runners up, and then theAsian Confederation is the fifth
round winner, and that is stillhappening right now.
Let me see if there's actually amatchup in that one.

(01:59:38):
Okay, so in that one, it'sactually between United Arab
Emirates and Iraq, and in thefirst in the first leg, that is
Type 1-1.
They're being the second legtomorrow, actually.
So we'll have that winner theretoo.

SPEAKER_03 (01:59:54):
Where's that one being played?
UAE or Iraq?

SPEAKER_05 (01:59:57):
That is I said Iraq, didn't I?
Um that is being played.

SPEAKER_03 (02:00:01):
People say that too.

SPEAKER_05 (02:00:02):
I mean, it you know, I'm not I know, but I try to I
try to be a little more generoustonight.
Uh that's my in Iraq.

SPEAKER_03 (02:00:09):
And in Iraq, okay.
Um that's gonna be interesting.
But both teams are actuallyfairly decent have become fairly
decent sides.
Iraq.

SPEAKER_05 (02:00:20):
Oh, so Iraq's been there before.
I don't think UAE has beenthere.
So I'm kind of keeping my eye onthat for sure.
The um the game on the uh let'ssee.
Let me see about the ConcaCalfones real quick.

(02:00:47):
So on Conca Caf, we still havethe ConcaCalf, we still have the
games tomorrow.
So ConcaCalf has a chance fortwo new debutants this week, and
that is Suriname and Curacano.

(02:01:10):
So Suriname and so right now ingroup A, Suriname and Panama are
tied nine points eight, butSuriname has the goal
differential at five.
Or sorry, at with three goals.
Suriname plays at Guatemala,Panama plays at El Salvador.
No, Panama plays at home againstEl Salvador.

(02:01:32):
So Panama has the easier of thetwo games.
But Suriname basically wins, andPanama doesn't score a boatload
of goals, which they probablywill, that Suriname is in.

SPEAKER_03 (02:01:46):
Man, but the fact that it's gotten to this point
and Suriname has a chance to getinto the World Cup at this point
when it should have beenPanama's group to lose.

SPEAKER_05 (02:01:56):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (02:01:57):
Based on based on history.

SPEAKER_05 (02:01:59):
and based on history and prist you know prestige I
guess uh you know compared toeverybody else um but you know I
wouldn't put I wouldn't count ElSalvador out just yet I mean El
Salvador has the ability to getyou know to make it difficult I
don't see them beating Panamabut you know they I mean
surprises have happened yeahyeah like this next one I'm

(02:02:22):
gonna talk about Curaçao has aone-point advantage over Jamaica
11 points to 10 points they playeach other head to head this
week at Jamaica if if Curacaowins that game does Steve
McLaren lose his job I'm goingto say no because I think

(02:02:48):
Jamaica is one of the favoritesto be in the confederation
playoff um if they are knockedout of the confederation playoff
then probably yes so Donnie uhjust for context the the the
Jamaica manager right now SteveMcLaren used to be the England
manager and he also uh managedin the Premier League

(02:03:11):
specifically Middlesbrough Ibelieve and he was also an
assistant at Manchester Unitedtwice so he's got a and he's
also one okay um crap me crap meon which team it was it was f 20
I believe that he won that hewon the air de v the the Dutch
league with yes FC 20 uh so he'sgot a little bit of a C V behind

(02:03:37):
him he's he's had some not sogood times in England too namely
QPR and Darby uh Darby I guesswas okay but was Darby I guess
was more when he was in thechampionship not in the premier
um he he also made QCR and Darbyand I feel like one other club

(02:03:57):
um Newcastle oh that's right Iforgot he was at Newcastle and
Nottingham for like I think ayear was he at Forest he was at
Forest 2011 before he went backyeah when you said Newcastle
it's the end for Newcastle likeuh well let's not let's not

(02:04:18):
let's not confuse donnie with ageordy accent so you well let's
let let me be fair to Donnie Igive him such a hard time my
horrendous my horrendous attemptat a geordy accent it's it's
actually really horrible umsomeone from Newcastle would
cringe if they heard me tryingto do that so we we may actually
be banned oh oh trust me I'mbanned and my comment should be

(02:04:42):
removed I promise so uh yeahCuracao has a chance to um if
they beat I think if they beatour draw against Jamaica they
advance is Andrew Jones playingfor them or Andrew Jones is not
no Andrew Jones is not playingfor for Curacao for Curacao no

(02:05:03):
oh man I was hoping so he'sretired well you never know he
could take up another sportspeaking of Curacao can I do a
quick um tangent real quick onthe are are you are are we being
sponsored by Visit Curacao andyou're about to do a commercial
no no but and and when havetangents not been allowed this

(02:05:26):
have you been a part of thisshow apparently this is my show
so I don't know why I asked youguys exactly this actually is a
baseball tangent okay so Iremember during the world
baseball classic uh carusal didnot either Cursol didn't make it
or they made it one year and Iwas looking up their roster and
I saw who who coached them andit was a name I have not seen in

(02:05:49):
years.
He was a former Huntsville starand the last thing I remember of
this player was he got injuredduring the game at Joe Davis
sliding in the second and theyhad to bring the ambulance onto
the field which was a disasterat the time of how to do that
and he was taken off theambulance and I never saw him
again and that was HanleyStasia.

(02:06:14):
Oh wow yeah so when I saw thatname I had to double check and
see if he was that formerHunterful stars player and he
was so at first I thought yousaid anti-statia and I was like
how do you know my anti-stasciathat's funny no so that I
remember I remember seeing I sawthat name and I was like oh my
gosh I haven't seen him since hegot under wow at first I thought

(02:06:36):
you were gonna say HanleyRamirez and I was gonna say
didn't that man play in themajors no not Hanley Ramirez no
so that's my little quickHuntsville stars connection I
just thought that was kind offunny funny odd not funny haha
you're still a star Virgil ohthank you and then going on to
our other one our other gamethere is another team that has a

(02:06:58):
chance although a little bit ofa taller task for them Haiti and
Honduras are tied with eightpoints right now Honduras has
the goal differential at 3-1Honduras has to travel at Costa
Rica which them which still hasa slight chance of getting in
there too because they'resitting at six points and and

(02:07:21):
shout out to both Haiti andJamaica for still being in this
after the storms that theysuffered I mean with all the
stuff that they must have goingon at home uh to still be in
contention regardless of howwhether you're a favorite or uh
you were not a favorite to be tobe in that position.

(02:07:42):
Kudos to both Jamaica and Haitiand they're both hosting the
well Haiti is not hostingtechnically Haiti's the host
team but the game's inNicaragua.

SPEAKER_03 (02:07:51):
Oh oh okay all right I was gonna say with all due
respect to Haiti there's not awhole lot of places anymore with
all the storms they've had thatthey can host games that's true
like like like Port au Prince Imean I don't know where you'd
host it.

SPEAKER_05 (02:08:08):
I mean I guess they can in Port au Prince but
outside of Port of Prince theydon't have a lot of
infrastructure the necessaryinfrastructure to host an
international match otherwiseright so no all lives will be on
CONCAF tomorrow for me uhprobably during the show
honestly so and to the lessinteresting European
qualifications that I did findit interesting that both Germany

(02:08:31):
and the Netherlands uh justqualified was it today or
yesterday it was today um thefact that it took the final day
for both um Germany and theNetherlands to qualify I mean
it's I mean Netherlands inrecent times has not made the
world cup as hard as that is tobelieve but you know they they

(02:08:54):
there is a little precedent forthat but Germany it's been a
it's been an uh like ultimatelythey ended up comfortably
winning because I think wasn'tit Slovakia that finished second
in the group yes and that'sthat's what I was about to say
like it was six nothing so itwas like what they had they had
they had strong second teamsyeah so Maria was sitting with

(02:09:17):
12 points Poland was sittingwith um 17 so they both had
really good campaigns yeah wellso basically Bayern Munich beat
Slovakia today I don't knowHarry Kane was playing for
Germany he is okay you you'venever you've never heard his
you've never heard him sayGutentag no I have not yeah he's

(02:09:41):
you know he's so smooth with hisuh his his jer he's he's very um
uh his German is uh he's veryfluent in his German is what I
was trying to say impeccablewould be the word I want to
impeccable thank you thank youvery well uh going through some
of the other groups uh goingthrough some of the other groups
uh switzerland pretty much hasthe qualification wrapped up uh

(02:10:04):
but second place is Kosovo ah sothey are sitting there with 10
points and Slovenia and Swedenare nowhere close to them so
they will be in a playoff I wasgonna say are Kosovo gonna be in
the playoffs they'll be in thesecond yeah they'll be in the
playoff for the second round orfor the next round there after
qualification next stage itremind me again of that
switzerland the the Swiss guythat played for uh for Liverpool

(02:10:28):
um uh he was the youngdiminutive striker the he played
for Chicago Fire as well in MLSoh god I do not know uh uh not
Cobalt is it no uh um who is itthat you know I'm talking about
that guy that played for hereI'm gonna I'm trying to think if

(02:10:53):
you're doing a bit or notbecause I've done it no I'm
really I'm really not I thinkhe's serious on this one I
really am oh uh Jerdon Shakirrithere we go oh shaki why did I
like office yeah thank youDonnie I had it right on the I
was right on the cusp so thankyou yeah good thing I was gonna
say Jordan charcuterie butthat's because I can't pronounce

(02:11:17):
it hey just quit when you'reahead yeah Jerdon Shakeri I was
ahead okay I didn't know that ohhe he's back with batteries
where where are these gamesplayed on I mean where can you
see them?
ESPN plus I believe has yep umlet me let me check tomorrow's

(02:11:38):
games actually I can give you abetter answer.
I I can look it up real quickwhile you're doing that I I I
wasn't sure if the ESPN carriedit or if it was somewhere else
but I've got ESPN some some yeahEuropean qualifiers are easier
to find than some of the otherconfederations yeah so Shakyri
is I guess Shakiri retired fromfrom uh international duty

(02:11:58):
that's why I didn't see his namethen yeah okay I didn't realize
he called Tyle on his uh careeruh group C uh Denmark and
Scotland still have a shot to orsorry seeing a Swiss national
team without Shakir in it Ireally I mean Shaka's still
there so I mean well you knowgranted Jaka you know he just

(02:12:22):
does nothing but score goalsthat's exactly especially
against Serbia um Scotland andDenmark are playing against each
other the winner that wins theretakes over the top spot for
World Cup so Scotland has achance to qualify over Denmark
Scotland Scotland who isemployed who who employs former
Chelsea assistant manager SteveClark?

SPEAKER_03 (02:12:40):
Yes that's Scotland yeah oh I'm sorry also former
West Bra manager Steve Clark canyou imagine a World Cup that has
both Scotland and Ireland in itrecently the only thing that
would make that better is ifScotland and Ireland both made
the World Cup and Steve Clarkand Mick McCarthy both were both

(02:13:02):
were managers I would love tosee Mick McCarthy in a World
Cup.

SPEAKER_05 (02:13:06):
I know that's no longer possible since he is no
since he's no longer at Irelandbut which we're thinking sorry
uh group D group D is wrapped upwith France taking over the
first spot and let me see aboutthe other how long is Didier
Deschamps gonna be Francemanager um until he gets bored
with it wasn't that like eightyears ago I mean me still going

(02:13:31):
well I I guess once you haveraymond uh uh Raymond Dominic uh
as your previous manager you'regonna stick with Deschamps as
long as you can as long as youcan that was a monster yeah so
France has so France has uh wonthat group and Ukraine that's
been a second so they'll begoing to the next stage um Spain
and Turkey still are playingthey play against each other uh

(02:13:55):
the goal differential is way toohigh so even if Turkey ties
Spain moves on I would like totake a little bit of a moment to
say how disappointed I'm alittle I am in Georgia uh
especially after their eurotheir European qualifying their
European um step they havereally just kind of fell off
after that and do you thinkthat's Saba's fault Saba

(02:14:17):
Lojanica?
I don't really don't know who Ihave to blame I don't know if
maybe just caught lightning inthe bottle in the tournament so
the only reason I bring up thatname is because he he plays for
Atlanta United and he's aGeorgian international it's
ironic he plays in AtlantaGeorgia and he and he plays for
the Georgian national teamwhenever he scores he goes like

(02:14:37):
this which doesn't happen thatoften but um and group F
Portugal has the automaticqualifying spot with Ireland
being in the next qualificationround did you see where
Cristiano said this is going tobe his final World Cup do you
believe that no no and by theway Ireland only gets that from

(02:15:02):
a stoppage goal at the 90thminute plus five before it was
called and they were able to geta goal against Hungary so that's
a big big win for them let's saywe're talking about group G,
Netherlands and Poland um beingthe two teams out of that group
Netherlands takes the automaticqualifier Poland takes the

(02:15:23):
second place group H, whilethere are still games here is
still a possibility of BosniaHerzegovina taking the top spot
over Austria right now Bosniaonly sets uh 16 points while
Austria is at 18 so that wouldbe a that would be a that would

(02:15:46):
be a massive upset that would bethat would be I don't know if
they would be able I mean it'sin Austria I don't know they'd
be able to pull that one off Idon't see it but you never know
I mean Idenjecko is still thereso and of course probably the

(02:16:07):
biggest story that came out ofthis week in Europe in my
opinion Norway such as upqualification and Italy once
again has to go into the playoffrounds to qualify which the last
time they did that they did notmake it out I think the problem

(02:16:27):
is that they had they haveGotusso as their as their
manager and he constantlyunderperforms as a manager yeah
that's that's pretty much atakeaway from that um I'm gonna
skip group J for a moment andwe'll we'll get to I'll explain
why on that one uh group K ispretty much done with England

(02:16:50):
advancing and Albania being thesecond place one over that one
that's kind of a small littleupset too in my opinion having
Albania there and then in thegroup L uh Croatia and Czech
Republic who are Chechny is itChechnya now?
I don't know what they callthemselves.

SPEAKER_03 (02:17:07):
What's that?

SPEAKER_05 (02:17:08):
Is it Chechnya now?
Chechnya Chechnya yeah becauseit used to it used to be Czech
Republic I know they changed hername no it's not Chechnya no
that's Chechnya somewhere elsebut is it Chechnya?
I don't know how they say it letme see you're right they do go
by something else now that wasthe group that the Faroe Islands

(02:17:33):
probably had their bestperformance yeah Chechia yeah
Chechia Chechia okay yeah notChechnia I know that's something
completely different.
Yeah isn't that where isn't thatwhere Anzi so uh Faroe Islands
had their best performance with12 points but they were not able
to pull it off but now let'stalk about group J.
So group J, they all have onegame left and the reason why I

(02:17:57):
want to talk about this group isbecause this one has probably
the biggest implications hereBelgium sits on the top at 15
points they play Liechtenstein.
I don't think they have to worryabout that game.

SPEAKER_03 (02:18:14):
But Liechtenstein is a formidable side.

SPEAKER_05 (02:18:17):
The Liechtenstein has zero points and 20 minus 24
goals exactly they so they gotthey still got a shot but the
second spot is wide open andit's actually a game I may have
to watch if I can find thisNorth Macedonia a team that has
not made the World Cup yet goesto Wales both of them are tied

(02:18:38):
at 13 points apiece Macedoniahas North Macedonia has the nine
um has the goal differentialnine to four so if for some
reason Belgium actually can theycan they beat Lipton's no
Belgium has to lose the Liptonstock if they draw then they're

(02:19:00):
pretty much set on goaldifferential there could be a
possibility North Macedonia ourWales could win if Belgium loses
the Lichton stock which we knowis not going to happen.
But that's gonna be a truebattle for second place for the
winner of that to go on to thenext round.
North Macedonia of course wouldbe the better story because they

(02:19:20):
are the debutants that have notmade it yet but we'll see what
happens on that game.
So just a little intrigue there.

SPEAKER_03 (02:19:27):
Well uh and a thing about group J2 aren't North
Macedonia and Wales both assuredof a playoff spot because of
their Nations League rankingyeah nations league's a whole
other thing yeah nationsleague's kind of a caveat I did
not throw in there well I wasgonna say but isn't it because
and I know that's not everybodybut like isn't it in the UEFA
qualification isn't thatsomething that's been added

(02:19:49):
that's not that you don't findin the other confederations yes
that's why technically Sweden'snot mathematically eliminated I
guess right well wait a minuteso you mean potter's grand
potter's men are gonna giveeverything and they still have a
chance they possibly may giveeverything for a chance the the
boys gave every are going togive everything because grand

(02:20:10):
potter's the manager.

SPEAKER_05 (02:20:11):
Right so Donnie what do you think of all this I think
there's too many groups you knowwhat I actually can side with I
can actually agree with you onthat.

SPEAKER_03 (02:20:21):
I was I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to
follow what you because you'reyou're talking about the
different groups and I wastrying to find where can I find
those groups to look at the sothe groupings so so what I do is
I go to FIFA's official websiteI just type in FIFA World Cup
qualifiers and go to FIFA'swebsite and they have all the
different confederations I usean app called uh Flopmob that

(02:20:50):
has them all listed here and Ibasically use them for um this
is basically I follow all my mymy leaks okay okay I see that
now I was on something differentactually I think I used the ESPN
one ESPN doesn't have a bad oneeither for that okay yeah let's
see well I can follow that thenthat's easy enough here um let's

(02:21:14):
see yeah so here I'm gonna sendyou this now you you'd have to
go to a list but you know youthere's a drop down menu that
can show you all the differentgroups but um I will send this
over your way knowing you thoughyou're so quick you've already
found it but well I just typedin FIFA World Cup and I did

(02:21:35):
bring it up on the Google uh onthe Google well yeah on the
Google I brought mine up on theAlta Vista but that's just my
like on the main Google page isis where it came up but yeah I
bring mine up on the I bringmine up on the Alta Vista or the
by Jeeves but you stole my SJeeves joke matter sorry the the

(02:22:01):
by smithers I'm sorry yes sothat's all I had for soccer talk
I said tomorrow um for me alleyes will be on Cocker Calf so
I'll be probably following thosegames following the show
tomorrow so in case yeah I'mjust so glad that the US doesn't
have to qualify because if theywere we'd be coming down to a
last minute game againstTrinidad and Tobago that we

(02:22:23):
lose.

SPEAKER_05 (02:22:23):
So too soon too soon.
I know too soon.

SPEAKER_04 (02:22:27):
But if I don't talk about it and laugh I'll just cry
uh no see now I'm sad Donnie doyou have any hockey stuff to
talk about uh uh not that I'mreally prepared for I mean uh we
talked this morning real quickjust that the uh the checkers uh
got a sweep against the IowaWild they've swept them four

(02:22:48):
games to nine already thisseason man that's wild it is
very wild um I'm trying to gettogether my information better
on the uh the ECHL and some ofthe other hockey leagues I've I
I really need to have thosenotes ready because I didn't
have them quite ready thismorning and I don't have them
ready tonight.
But uh because the NFL the NHL Iwill say this about the NHL

(02:23:11):
because you talked about the uhthe game over in Sweden um that
totally threw me for a loop.
The NHL did a poor job ofmarketing uh that game or those
games I guess it was more thanone I believe.

SPEAKER_03 (02:23:27):
Yeah there was one and yeah do do you know who
they're com do you know who thecommissioner is yeah I know I I
didn't want to I didn't want toget you sidetracked on a
tangent.
You want to how I found outabout it?
The new era website when theywere selling hats for it.

SPEAKER_04 (02:23:41):
Well this is how I found out about it when Sydney
Crosby was sitting on my benchin my fantasy hockey uh Sunday
morning and I'm like wait aminute where are they playing at
that they've already completed agame this early and I was like
crap they played in Sweden yeahI play in in sellers fantasy
hockey league I still won theweek but it just kind of like

(02:24:03):
how did I not know they wereplaying there do you play
fantasy tennis as well?
No just just the and I only didthe hockey because I'm trying to
learn hockey.
Right.
So like if you guys if you guysdid a fantasy world cup or
fantasy soccer I would probablyplay it just so I could learn
the names like you guys know thenames.
I'm terrible at hockey players'names I wouldn't I wouldn't do

(02:24:24):
fantasy soccer because I'd bethe person that would be like
yeah we're gonna put uhRapabukarest striker up front I
think I'm feeling pretty goodabout him oh wait who's with
who's the defense I'm playingArsenal oh shit um the only
reason I knew about the globalseries because I actually have a
friend that has a I think she ispredator season ticket holder or

(02:24:46):
has uh passes or season passesthat went over there for those
games okay you're starting toshow off how many friends you
have like Donnie golly well uhjust in today's games I mean uh
Patrick your ducks are up oneone nothing on the mammoth right
now but they had a terrible weekthey had a terrible week yeah um

(02:25:07):
you know they no theyimmediately they ran in some
good and better teams I mean itstarted out with the avalanche
but yeah they um I think theywere brought down to earth a
little bit and fans like meincluded were probably getting
higher like more elevatedexpectations than we could
reasonably expect right becausebecause as great as the offense

(02:25:28):
was the defense has been a hugeconcern since the beginning of
the season I mean we werescoring six goals but giving up
four so you know so we werebrought back down to earth a
little bit when the when thewhen the offense stopped being
so hot um we're still giving upgoals so um I don't know we'll
see we'll see I think it's gonnaI think it's gonna kind of even

(02:25:50):
itself out I think this is gonnabe a better ducks team but yeah
I think I think they uh I agreeI think they've made some moves
to uh to give themselves abetter chance this year than
they've probably had the pastfew yeah um well well if we
finally got a coach who's knowswhat they're doing right like
him like him or hate him um Idefinitely disagree with some of

(02:26:13):
the stuff he's done in his pastbut purely on the ice he's a
good coach yeah so well the uhthe hurricanes uh split the last
four games um they won tonight3-1 over the uh the Bruins uh
Panthers they've they've beenstruggling a little bit they won
tonight over Canucks 8-5 but uh8-5 they've uh well I'll say

(02:26:37):
struggling they um yeah youdon't know struggling you've
been you've been playing forStanley Cut they have I don't
know they they've lost a fewgames they shouldn't have uh
early on but they had a they hada bad streak earlier in the
season like four in a row theylost and they uh actually they
lost uh six out of like eightgames or something but they're

(02:26:58):
they're they're holding theirown right now I mean I mean look
at the standings real quicklet's see where we're at with
the standings um I mean Boston'sstill leading in the Atlantic
division uh Panthers I meanthey're they're back a little
bit they're fifth place in theAtlantic division right now at
uh at 10 and 8 so I mean uh youknow Bruins are reverse at 12

(02:27:23):
and 9 so it's not a lotseparating them basically four
points Carolina Hurricanes aretied with uh New Jersey in their
division uh let's see where yourducks are at ducks are uh one
point behind the Kings sothey're in seconds two games
last too but but to be fair theKraken and Vegas are right there

(02:27:44):
on the same number of gamesright there too so yeah division
can be anybody's but theavalanche have been unbelievable
well I mean that division isonly you know right now I mean
again it's early but there'sonly five points separating San
Jose and the Kings.
I mean Calgary's the only onethat's like way out of it right
now.

(02:28:04):
But a lot of the other divisionsare very much similar.

SPEAKER_03 (02:28:08):
Calgary's going for that number one draft pick
already though we going into thelottery they go they got Anaheim
ducks they got Anaheim ducksslash San Jose Shark syndrome
yeah I um I'd love I'd love toget to another NHL game this
year.

SPEAKER_04 (02:28:23):
I don't know if I will uh I'm hoping to but uh I
know we don't have any uhcheckers games right now until
like the weekend beforeChristmas unless we we we may
slip another game in somewherehere soon but Ron and I are
trying to trying to kind of getother things done right now and
then after the first of the yearwe'll get back into hockey

(02:28:45):
pretty good.

SPEAKER_03 (02:28:46):
But 31 points after 19 games for Colorado that's I
don't know that's the quickestin their history they've ever
gotten to 30 points or 31they've only got one loss I mean
they're they're they're cruisingright now.
But the crazy thing is they'vegot five overtime losses.

SPEAKER_04 (02:29:01):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (02:29:03):
Can you imagine if they turned even three of those
into like you know wins rightthey'd be I mean if it weren't
for the stars you know who gotoff to a who've gotten off to a
pretty good start as well they'dbe running they'd be running
away with the central division.

SPEAKER_04 (02:29:19):
Yeah and I mean most of that was in you know four
weeks or four games in a row Imean mammoth current hurricanes
brewins and devils yep so yeahthey've been on a good streak
though they've won uh let's seewhat hit they've won their last
uh six in a row yeah they I'mtelling you they absolutely it
was like men against boys whenthey played the ducks yeah it

(02:29:41):
was like it was it was like aclass between um that's okay
though when I didn't I didn'teven think we'd even be in the
conversation for division soyeah I um I was hoping they
would I was I know when we weretalking about possibly our trip
for next year for a second thereI was like oh maybe the mammoth

(02:30:02):
will still have a late seasongame but no the hockey's over by
the time we were talking aboutgoing so unless they make the
playoffs which I don't knowabout that this year for them
thanks a lot Eric exactly that'sEric's fault don't worry this
time it isn't your fault Nanithat's Eric's fault exactly no
complaints here oh I'm stillgoing on that I don't know yet

(02:30:25):
all right um well that's allI've got for hockey okay
anything else if I would like tobring to the table no not right
now I I was I'm a littledisappointed in the uh the the
winter break here I was hopingto see some soccer this weekend
I was like dang nobody's playingat least as far as my Premier

(02:30:46):
League and don't worry um Virgiland I both know by by the time
10 a.m rolls around on Saturdaywe'll have probably 37 messages
from you with like 20 picturesto go along with the well I was
sitting here checking umchecking the uh the beer garden
to see if they had anythingposted about uh you know going

(02:31:06):
down there to see Bayern butthen I was like oh crap they're
on break so no game for them nogame for Crystal is is the J
League being played right now uhVirgil uh don't I haven't seen
any scores from that because I'mwaiting for Donnie to wait you
know to wake me up at like youknow 4 a.m and he's gonna be
like Vissokobe is playing yep JLeague is down through their

(02:31:30):
last two games yeah well I waswaiting for him to say Vissokobe
is playing or the UR the UrarUrarwa you know Urawa Red
Diamonds there we go isn't ityeah it is Urarwa Urawa Red
Diamonds yeah but yeah they arethey are on uh match day 37 38

(02:31:52):
and those games start up on umNovember 29th okay so yeah we
still got we still got

SPEAKER_05 (02:31:59):
the end of the month I'm gonna see I'm gonna hear
Donnie saying Vissokobe isplaying and for Patrick for your
sake uh Kashima Antlers arenumber one are in the top of the
table right now.

SPEAKER_03 (02:32:12):
Okay.
Is the A-League is the A-Leaguein right now?
I think that was done because Ithought the because you you know
like my team there is AdelaideUnited.

SPEAKER_05 (02:32:25):
I don't know how you had an A-League team.
Yep I don't follow them closelybut if I had to pick a team
that's who we would be yeah Iknow A League yeah okay A
League's A League just startedso yeah they're and they will
have games on Friday.
Because I was gonna say that'swhere Juan Mata ended up and
Adelaide United is playingMelbourne City FC uh oh

(02:32:50):
Melbourne's usually pretty goodso we'll see what on that note
since we're talking about uh ALeague and J League it is time
for us to go so uh thank you forjoining us tonight at break even
sports uh I say we do this everyMonday night uh to talk about
soccer FCS and everything elsewe don't talk about on the
Tuesday Thursday show whichwe'll have all five of the group

(02:33:12):
here and we will talk about uhtomorrow's gonna be fun we're
gonna be definitely talkingabout the happenings in the NFL
and college football we've gotsome uh Monot League World logo
refreshes to possibly go overbut we're mostly going to be
talking about the remergence ofMason Rudolph be ready for that
i'm sure that's I'm sure thatwon't cause any problems or

(02:33:34):
