on what gear do we do forvlogging and when we go to the
parks, what do we take, andthings like that, because right
now you can't take too much,right, you got to take certain
things and you're restricted onwhat you can take with you when
you are at the ballpark,especially my major league

baseball.
But like minor league baseball,you get a little bit of a
leeway depending on theconnections you got, uh, but for
the most part it's like yeah,it's, it's as straight as it
comes.
So you know we're gonna talkabout all of that today yeah, um
, we'll call this the nogatekeep episode you know what I

time of this recording right, uh, I just got done, um, coming
from uh, watching a bunch ofsandlot games it was called the

sandlot revival here, uh, innorth carolina, at the old duran
ballpark, right, and, by theway, uh, carolina sandlot
collective they put on a show.
I mean it was amazing, okay,and I took some gear with me,
like you know I had to, just soI can take some videos, some
photos and things like that.

I bought some hats, four ofthem.
You know I spent some money too, but it was cool, though, right
, so it was a good event.

But it was cool for me to have, like, my gear, my
bag, you know, and all that, andI'm though right, so it was a
good event, but it was cool forme to have like my gear, my bag,
you know, and all that uh atthat, and I'm sure you do the
same thing too when you're aboutto go to like your various
events.
Yeah, yeah, um, on that note,you went to a game that I feel
like could have created some ofthe best content ever, ever,
because I saw a bunch of videosviral and I'm like I know I'd

yeah girl, I'm telling you that was one of the
most fun events I've been at aballpark what time is first
pitch?
like 10 pm so, no, no, no.
So that's not that, that's.
That's.
That's the thing.
It starts as a regular baseballgame, right.
It started, I think it's likearound 6.30, 7 o'clock, right.

And then what they did is, asit got darker, they were like,
all right, there's going to bean intermission, right, the
players are going to take abreak, and all that.
And then, as soon as it gotdark, they did a countdown and
then the lights went, so theyshut off the lights and they
turned on these black lightsthat they were all over the
stadium imagine that in vegas.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Oh, I need to see that.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I need to check out that schedule so I'm telling you
it was awesome, because thenthey came out in their
glow-in-the-dark um jerseys anduniforms and then people in the
stands were wearing the samethings, like they were wearing
different kinds ofglow-in-the-dark, like you know,
black light, uh gear.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
And it was awesome also the music, top notch I
think the coolest part was thehome plate had the dust, the
green dust because you can't seehome plate at the lights off
and they changed the rest of thebases different colors, that's
so cool.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
So it was yellow, pink and orange.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
That is so cool.
That has got to be a very coolway to make content, like spot
to make content, that game itwas.

It was.
And then you know.

This was 10 times better.
This was 10 times better I'mtelling you right now because it
kept to the spirit of baseball,but it still was very
entertaining.

They had their own dj andeverything in the field, but it
was like on the side, right, soit was.

Um, there was social mediapeople and camera, but it was
like on the side, right, so itwas, it wasn't impeding.

were all on the sides.
There was none on the field,nothing like that.

I'm telling you, if it's comingto your town, you gotta go,
because it was awesome.

what we do right as contentcreators?
Right, because we only we do itin a podcast, we do the live
show, we also go into variousevents and we do, you know, do
live interviews and things likethat.
I do the same thing.
My question to you is what isthe like?
You know, obviously I have likemy simple stuff to like some

gear that I take with me, like,what do you take with you?
Like, what's your gear that youtake with you to a ballpark?

My non-negotiables stuff, stuff I don't have to
sneak in, okay, stuff that canget out with, stuff that I will
for sure take my cell phonefully charged you have to if my
cell phone's not fully chargedit's gonna be a bad day and I'm
gonna throw fit.
So, my cell phone fully charged,at least one fully charged
(09:25):
battery, extra battery I love totake two, though, um, so I'll
take between one and two.
Both those are fully charged,of course.
The phone charger I take aselfie light, fully charged, and
sometimes I take my mini mics.
Sometimes I've been havingissues with my mini mics, but

sometimes I'll take my mini mics.
So for sure, cell phone, twobattery packs like two extra
batteries charged Phone charger,selfie light, that's for sure.

I'm somewhat like that with what you're doing.
So I have, and I got a littleshow and tell here for you.
I got my little tripod that Ialso use as a handle that one's
a lot into stadiums yep, okay,yeah, this is allowed, because
this is this small.
You know what I mean.
This is handheld, right.

It also works as and it's thisis the cool part about this you
ready for this Selfie stick?
Wow, so, and it's a tripod aswell, yeah, so I'm going to need
that.

It's on uh, on Amazon, so it'slike 15 bucks for this thing.

Wow, I'm going to need thislittle so uh, so so you can take
pictures, a little bluetoothand all that oh yeah, yep, so
that's cool.
This is one of the things that Idefinitely take with me, just
because it's it's small, right,and also it's I can fit it in in
my, uh, in my carry-on bag thatI take with me to the ballpark.

So that's definitely.
This comes with me all the time.
Now, okay, um, like you said,um, I also carry a light with me

Yep, a little light.
You gotta, you gotta have alight, especially at the
ballparks at night, uh, lighting, sometimes, in the certain
sections that we're at, it's thelighting is not the best.
So always carry at least one ofthese and make sure, by the way

, guys, let's make sure that itis uh, charged, uh, because I've
made this mistake where therewas like one cell left and then
I was out yeah, so stadiumlights are not always the best
lighting exactly, I also have mycharger.
Yeah, this is my little you knowbattery charger.
Gotta have that also make Imake sure that before I leave

the night, before I charge it,and then, like you, I take my
mics with me.
But these are, I got theseright here.

When I take some gear with me,like if I, if I have nothing
else, that's it, and then ofcourse my little, my wife makes
fun of me, but I take my littlefanny pack with me um yeah, the
fanny pack is good.

A lot of stadiums are like whatever.
Some allow fanny packs, somedon't.
So I just take my regularstadium, the clear bag, because
I've never.
The only place I cannot take aclear stadium bag, oh my
goodness, is T-Mobile Arena.
So far, that's the only.

Yeah, so I fold it and I put it in my pocket.
Speaker 1 (13:01):

And then I take it out, but they don't tell me
anything when I'm inside thearena, and so it's fine.
I'm fine.
I also do sneak in my tripodinto Aviators games.
I put it in my pants and I oops.
Of course my sister'sFaceTiming me.
I put my tripod in my freakingpants.

Oh my gosh, this is while we're recording, guys.
I hope you guys know this thatif you hear that sound, yes, it
is uh city and food girls, uhsister trying to call her as we
are recording.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
How dare she I know, seriously it's, I put my tripod
in my pants but there's no metalin it.
So when I walk through themetal detector thing it doesn't
go off, sorry.
My conscious is like making melike clear the air here, and so
that's why I'm like, well, it'snot dangerous because there's no
metal in it.
And then I take it out and Irecord it and I record it.

Nobody tells me anything.
So I'm like why is it an issuein the first place?

Well, I'm starting to do now is and then maybe you'll
be able to do this.
Why don't you, right before yougo to the ballpark, ask with
their team and see?
If you can get a media pass.

So I have done that before.

That does work, because if you have a media pass
, you're good to go.

Yes, so that was going to be one of the tips I
shared, because I have done thatbefore.
When I got invited out to gowith the El Paso Chihuahuas, I
told them I was like, hey, inorder for me to shoot fun
content, this is what I have tobring with me.
Are you guys cool with it?
And they were like we have toget through security, we have to

get your media pass and thenyou have to go into the employee
entrance.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
But they were super cool about it so so there's some
rules, but obviously you can,you can, definitely you know.
Yeah, take it with you yepdepending.
See that, for me, one of thetips that I would say is like
depending on whether or not Ican get a media pass, that's how
my gear will will be determined, uh, on what or what I can and

cannot take with me based onthat right, because I have this
tripod with me that actuallyusually has a stand that I can
do to also to do some uminterviews and things like that.
Uh, because it's pretty justabout five feet tall when it
fully extended oh nice nice yeah.

Oh yeah, it's amazing .
This thing is awesome.

Yeah, so I've done a couple uh,that I've been able to get.
Uh, I was um with the burlingtonsock puppets.

I kind of did it, but notreally because I know the man,
the general manager, nice, shoutout to anderson, um right.
So I was able to bring, youknow, my stuff with me and able
to get on the field during theall-star game and the
championship, and that was coolI don't do that enough.

That's total shame on me.
I've only done it a couple oftimes with the aviators, but I I
get tired of, I feel bad foralways asking, so that's why I
do don't feel bad.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
I mean, listen.
At the same time, think aboutit.
You're going to be giving themfree promotion of the things
that you're doing right.
Um, you're buying their food,and then all for the most part,
and then you're going to bedoing content, and then you're
going to be promoting their team.
So they will always be like,sure, bring it over.
You know what I mean.
You'll be surprised more.

More often than not, they'll be like, absolutely,
let's come on over okay, yeah, Ikind of stopped doing it just
because, like um, the, thereason why I stopped doing it is
because then they're alwaysgoing to get an email from me
every time I'm there, because Ialways am shooting content every
time I'm there and I go to agame, at least four, three to
four times a month, so it's likeat some point.

My next question is is when youare using, would you say, the
phone is like your main camera?
You don't have another cameraas of right now, as of yet, I
know.

know, like the camera that Iwant.
I don't even know how manyzeros it has, but obviously I
don't even know how to use it.
I'm just like, well, that'swhat the pros are using, so I
now I want one but there is onethat I want.

It's a little bit pricier though, the one I show
you today.

Because it's a I Right Also built into the camera

It can take both photos andvideo.
So I'm very intrigued about it,and it comes with a full

person when it comes to thingslike that, so I need extra
protection.
So that was one of the thingsthat uh, that uh, I was, uh, I
was intrigued about.

Yeah, we'll drop a few links, but, um, for the time
being, until I like do moreresearch and I feel confident
about which camera I'm going toget, my biggest and my favorite
tip is when you are recording.
This is for iPhone users,specifically when you go to
video, up at the top right,where it says HD 30, hit that HD

to 4K mode and instead of 30,put it to 60.
So 4K 60.
I will preface this by sayingthat this does take up more
storage on your phone recordingthis way, so you're going to
have to delete as you go ordelete when you're done, you
know, but that 60 frames persecond makes such a huge
(21:06):
difference.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
And the quality of the video is just so much
crisper yeah, oh yeah yeah,obviously you want to use, like,
if you have a chance, you wantto use the, the, the back facing
camera, just because that wouldgive you the best quality shot.
But if you're like you're onlygoing solo, yeah, absolutely use
the one that you know, theselfie one, so that way you get
able to um, guess what?

But I do do that.
You know what's?
Another tip on that that Ilearned when I would, because I
actually took a class at, uh,apple store.
Oh nice, uh do the grid youknow what really like that
actually works okay the gridworked.
Obviously you're don't, youdon't get to see it, but it's
for you, so you're able to placeyourself in that grid and it it

helps what does the grid do?
it just makes sure thateverything's even everything's
even so, like if you want to go,if you want to stay on the left
, on the right, or if you wantto be center, it puts you in the
center and it's like right,where it's supposed to be, like
the grid helps you.
You know, uh, get you a littlebit of, uh, better, um,
positioning on the framing, onthe on the video okay, okay,

I'll have to turn that on I Iowe ever since that.
They told me about that.
I'm like, yep, it's on.
So okay but yeah, it's, it'spretty cool, though I like it
it's, it's a, it's a cool one,okay, so see, just learning some
new things here the grid, thegrid, for sure.

Um, yeah, I I am.
I feel like it looks more legit.
I feel like it makes you lookmore legit.
Um, even though I'm not gonnalie, most times when I'm
recording I still don't knowwhat I'm doing to lie, most
times when I'm recording, Istill don't know what I'm doing.
I think, I think, as long as mycamera is recording and I've

got that 4k 60 mode on, then Ikind of just wing it and go from
there.
Huh, the 60 frames per secondyeah, I will say, though, the
important part is capturing asmuch as you can on camera,
because when it comes to editingit, I think the worst part is
wishing you had everything.

You had more yes yeah , I I've learned that lesson so
many times like I'm like I'm tothe point now, like, where I
overtake pictures and I overtakevideos, but then again I'm like
, no, I think I need it.
You know, just because younever know, even if you don't
end up using I think I need it.

end up using it and you don'tthink it's going to be good.
You never know.
Like, when it comes to editing,you'd be like I wish I had that

picture, you know.

Yep, which takes me to, I guess, our next phase or
part in this conversation is thesoftware that we use.

Oh and, and their part in this conversation is the
software that we use.
Oh yeah, and I'm a huge agreed,we're both fans on the same one

Yes, because I actually was using one.
It's kind of janky.
It's called video shop it yeahit was okay, but I feel like
it's really good for likebeginners, because when I went
from video shop to CapCut, Iremember thinking I absolutely
hate this.
I did not go to school for filmor whatever.

I'm going back to video shopand then I realized that all the
content creators that I likelook up to and follow and
whatnot all use CapCut.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
So I was like you know what, let me just learn it
and it's so easy though oh, nowit is yeah like right, um,
because I I like to do the, uh,the transitions, um, I like to
use um the um at the end, andthen I also like to put my logo
at the top as well.
So, like every on my videos,you see my, uh, that dhc logo.

So all these little things, um,you can, you can do uh
transitions on with video, withmusic, so there's a lot of
things that you can use.
You can use the free version.
I bought the, I do the, thepaid version, just because it
gives you a little bit more yeahum, and it's absolutely worth
it.
I was actually talking to afellow of a friend of ours, uh

kelly of minor league, uh nerdshout out minor league nerd yeah
, guys gotta follow that man.
I'm telling you, kelly andchristina, they do an absolute
wonderful job.
So I was talking to kelly and Iwas telling him that, like
about cap cut and you know,because I have a mac as well at
home and I used to useGarageBand and all that but I'm
like, ever since I've been usingCapCut, it's been like for all

of my videos it's been the bestthing ever can I just say the
only thing that sucks aboutCapCut is that it's owned by the
same people who own TikTok.

so when TikTok is banned, capcut gets banned and
it's miserable.
If you're going to take it awayfrom me, just take it away from
me so I can learn iMovie atthis point.

I feel like iMovie is very basic.

oh, yeah, I will say CapCut isdefinitely one of my favorites.

I know Instagram edits justcame out and I did see that they
were still going to add morefeatures and I was like thank
goodness, because this kind ofsucks.

Okay, with captions, it's coolbecause, um, and that's the one
I've been using to do all of myuh, closed captions for all of
my videos um, it's really good,it's very intuitive and it
actually does all that.
What the cool thing about it isit it does an automatic trim

for you.
Okay, so it trims out all thestuff that you don't need, all
the long periods of silence andall that, and then you can
adjust it, but it gives you asuggestion on it.
So captions is a cool one, uh,if you want to use that, yeah,
that's a cool one okay, coolcaptions.

You choose your makeup, so likesometimes, and it doesn't like

do a face of makeup for you, itjust changes your skin tone.
So sometimes I feel like my umskin tone looks brighter than it
, almost looks uneven sometimes,and I'm in a lot of light.
Sometimes I've got the selfielight on, sometimes I don't.
So I just feel like it makes myskin tone look different in so
many clips and it almost justlooks off.
So I'll do the um, where is it?

It's on retouch, and then yougo to skin tone and so I do that
one because of like if you cansee right here, uh-huh it's red

So skin tone is definitely myfavorite.

When it comes to transitions,there's a couple of transitions
that are on the paid versionthat I like to use when I'm

restaurant, walking up andordering the food, showing the

food, and then, once that's done, it's like he's um, those parts
will stop and then it's back tohim talking again.

Yep, and it works so well.
Transitions really work wellwith that one as well.
Like, you got to put sometransitions in between videos or
pictures, so that way itdoesn't give you the hard stop
and hard beginning.
Those are one of the thingsthat bothered me, uh, when I was
doing um iMovie.
It was like that.
So, like you know, I'm so happywith the transitions, uh, with

CapCut, because I'm able to justlike do either do a soft uh
transition or, like you know,you know video, you know moving
into another one so those arethe things that I like about
CapCco.

It started, I think it's likearound 6.30, 7 o'clock, right.

And then what they did is, asit got darker, they were like,
all right, there's going to bean intermission, right, the
players are going to take abreak, and all that.
And then, as soon as it gotdark, they did a countdown and
then the lights went, so theyshut off the lights and they
turned on these black lightsthat they were all over the
stadium imagine that in vegas.

I need to check out that schedule so I'm telling you
it was awesome, because thenthey came out in their
glow-in-the-dark um jerseys anduniforms and then people in the
stands were wearing the samethings, like they were wearing

black light, uh gear.

And it was awesome also the music, top notch I
think the coolest part was thehome plate had the dust, the
green dust because you can't seehome plate at the lights off
and they changed the rest of thebases different colors, that's
so cool.

That is so cool.
That has got to be a very coolway to make content, like spot

for sure take my cell phonefully charged you have to if my
cell phone's not fully chargedit's gonna be a bad day and I'm
gonna throw fit.
So, my cell phone fully charged,at least one fully charged

battery, extra battery I love totake two, though, um, so I'll
take between one and two.
Both those are fully charged,of course.
The phone charger I take aselfie light, fully charged, and
sometimes I take my mini mics.
Sometimes I've been havingissues with my mini mics, but

So for sure, cell phone, twobattery packs like two extra
batteries charged Phone charger,selfie light, that's for sure.

about which camera I'm going toget, my biggest and my favorite
tip is when you are recording.
This is for iPhone users,specifically when you go to
video, up at the top right,where it says HD 30, hit that HD

to 4K mode and instead of 30,put it to 60.
So 4K 60.
I will preface this by sayingthat this does take up more
storage on your phone recordingthis way, so you're going to
have to delete as you go ordelete when you're done, you
know, but that 60 frames persecond makes such a huge

difference.

And the quality of the video is just so much
crisper yeah, oh yeah yeah,obviously you want to use, like,
if you have a chance, you wantto use the, the, the back facing
camera, just because that wouldgive you the best quality shot.
But if you're like you're onlygoing solo, yeah, absolutely use
the one that you know, theselfie one, so that way you get
able to um, guess what?

But I do do that.

Another tip on that that Ilearned when I would, because I
actually took a class at, uh,apple store.
Oh nice, uh do the grid youknow what really like that
actually works okay the gridworked.
Obviously you're don't, youdon't get to see it, but it's
for you, so you're able to placeyourself in that grid and it it

helps what does the grid do?
it just makes sure thateverything's even everything's
even so, like if you want to go,if you want to stay on the left
, on the right, or if you wantto be center, it puts you in the
center and it's like right,where it's supposed to be, like
the grid helps you.
You know, uh, get you a littlebit of, uh, better, um,
positioning on the framing, onthe on the video okay, okay,

Huh, the 60 frames per secondyeah, I will say, though, the
important part is capturing asmuch as you can on camera,
because when it comes to editingit, I think the worst part is
wishing you had everything.

many times like I'm like I'm tothe point now, like, where I
overtake pictures and I overtakevideos, but then again I'm like
, no, I think I need it.

It's kind of janky.
It's called video shop it yeahit was okay, but I feel like
it's really good for likebeginners, because when I went
from video shop to CapCut, Iremember thinking I absolutely
hate this.
I did not go to school for filmor whatever.

I'm going back to video shopand then I realized that all the
content creators that I likelook up to and follow and
whatnot all use CapCut.

So I was like you know what, let me just learn it
and it's so easy though oh, nowit is yeah like right, um,
because I I like to do the, uh,the transitions, um, I like to
use um the um at the end, andthen I also like to put my logo
at the top as well.
So, like every on my videos,you see my, uh, that dhc logo.

So all these little things, um,you can, you can do uh
transitions on with video, withmusic, so there's a lot of
things that you can use.
You can use the free version.
I bought the, I do the, thepaid version, just because it
gives you a little bit more yeahum, and it's absolutely worth
it.

only thing that sucks aboutCapCut is that it's owned by the
same people who own TikTok.

so when TikTok is banned, capcut gets banned and
it's miserable.

I feel like iMovie is very basic.

I was doing I movie, but eversince CapCut came into the game,
oh, yeah, I will say CapCut isdefinitely one of my favorites.

goodness, because this kind ofsucks.

Okay, with captions, it's coolbecause, um, and that's the one
I've been using to do all of myuh, closed captions for all of
my videos um, it's really good,it's very intuitive and it
actually does all that.
What the cool thing about it isit it does an automatic trim

for you.
Okay, so it trims out all thestuff that you don't need, all
the long periods of silence andall that, and then you can
adjust it, but it gives you asuggestion on it.
So captions is a cool one, uh,if you want to use that, yeah,
that's a cool one okay, coolcaptions.

What are your top threefavorite features with CapCut?
Like features that you willalmost pay for if they were not

I think I'm going to be a little, I'm throwing myself

But yay, I love the retouch.
I love the retouch part, yep,because, um, sometimes, okay, my
favorite one is the one whereyou get to like it.
You choose your makeup, so likesometimes, and it doesn't like

do a face of makeup for you, itjust changes your skin tone.
So sometimes I feel like my umskin tone looks brighter than it
, almost looks uneven sometimes,and I'm in a lot of light.
Sometimes I've got the selfielight on, sometimes I don't.
So I just feel like it makes myskin tone look different in so
many clips and it almost justlooks off.
So I'll do the um, where is it?

It's on retouch, and then yougo to skin tone and so I do that
one because of like if you cansee right here, uh-huh it's red
always okay sometimes I doretouch on that one okay, yeah,
so, yep.
So skin tone is definitely myfavorite.

I use my, I use my green screen on tiktok and then
I'll post it on tiktok and thenI'll post it to instagram see, I
do the opposite really yeah Ijust, I figured there's more
people on TikTok, so if my stuffis going to go viral on TikTok,
I would hope that they followme on Instagram.
I still love Instagram morethan TikTok, though.

We can talk about that, like the apps that we use,
but we'll get into that.
When it comes to transitions,there's a couple of transitions
that are on the paid versionthat I like to use when I'm
nicking my videos.
Those are good ones.

What I like to do and when I doon I use on my cap cut uh is
let me see, I'm looking for itright now is the um overlay.
We were just talking about that.

Overlay is so good, I'm stealing that one as my

It's almost like two videos in one.
You can do videos, you can dopictures, you can do your logo,
all of that stuff it is One ofmy favorite tricks that I ever,
or one of the things that reallytaught me the value of overlay.

He does overlay a lot wherehe's eating in his car, but when
he's eating and he's talking tothe camera, he'll be like um,
just got to Taco Bell tryingthis brand new item and instead

restaurant, walking up andordering the food, showing the

food, and then, once that's done, it's like he's um, those parts
will stop and then it's back tohim talking again.
It's like oh, shoot, like it'snot a voiceover, it's just two
different videos in one and Ilove that.

Yep, and it works so well.
Transitions really work wellwith that one as well.
Like, you got to put sometransitions in between videos or
pictures, so that way itdoesn't give you the hard stop
and hard beginning.
Those are one of the thingsthat bothered me, uh, when I was
doing um iMovie.
It was like that.
So, like you know, I'm so happywith the transitions, uh, with

CapCut, because I'm able to justlike do either do a soft uh
transition or, like you know,you know video, you know moving
into another one so those arethe things that I like about
CapCco.

I'm telling you it's, it's uh, voice adjustment,
absolutely love it.
Are you talking about the noisereducer?
Because that's what I use.
I don't use my mini mics allthe time.
Yeah, people will ask me whatmics are you using?

and I'm like I'm not using any mics, I just hit noise
reducer and cap cut yep, andthen remove all that noise that
you don't necessarily like, wantto hear, absolutely 100%.

I just posted a video , for example.
Last week I posted a video ofme eating a baked potato at
Allegiant Stadium and I feellike it sounds like I'm using a
mic, but that is 100% nomicrophone.
All noise reducer.

Yeah, I like that a lot.
So, yeah, uh, as far as editingfor for video cup cup all day,
I will use that first.

I feel like if if you reallyhave somebody out there who just
wants to make a fake page ofyou and copy you and whatever,
they'll do it, it doesn't matterhow many followers you have.
But I feel like the blue checkmark just adds more like
legitimacy to your page.
But my favorite part of all ofit is that if somebody tries to
hack into your page, you haveyour own person, your own

So imagine having to start thedad hat all over again.
How devastating would that be.
