The (mainly) daily ramblings of a wannabe writer, Richard A. Boxshall...
I report in from New York City where I’ve done some exercise and some writing! Can’t be bad…
I talk about the fact I’m not working in July and mull over some ideas for what I might do during that time…
In a podcast you may not have been expecting (because in yesterday’s show I said there would not be one!) I talk about the “Empress” chapters I’m currently editing plus the fact that Doctor Who is currently in a kind if limbo for the first time since 1990…
As well as updating you on my writing progress, I read a short story that I wrote in 20 minutes at a new writing workshop that I have joined in my hometown…
Also, despite what I said in the podcast, there will be an episode tomorrow… When I recorded it I forgot that I had promised to do an episode every day in June. Oops.
I talk about how tired I am due to jetlag but also the fact I managed to get some work done…
Sorry about the length of this one, it’s entirely about the Doctor Who finale and my thoughts on it…
I talk about the chapter I have edited today and reiterate my goals for this month.
I talk about my writing targets next month, including ones that aren’t directly related to writing that I seem to be very bad at actually doing, and I also talk about the fact I won’t be able to watch Doctor Who for another two days…
I talk about the editing I finally managed to do today…
I talk a bit about my working day and then some thoughts I’ve had about the sequel I’m planning to Still Life, currently titled Self Portrait…
I talk about my work in the last couple of days and my thoughts on Doctor Who again…
I apologise for how intermittent this podcast has been for the last few days, and talk about how my thoughts about my Still Life sequel are shaping up…
No writing, I’ve had a lazy day but I have done some reading.
I’m back, and I talk briefly about my plans for the next couple of days, both writing and not writing…
A spoiler-free discussion about today’s Doctor Who. Going to take a couple of days off now I’ll be back on Tuesday.
I talk about a change of heart about a scene in my book that I’ve mentioned for the last couple of days, and also about the fact that if the FA Cup Final goes into extra time tomorrow, the Eurovision episode of Doctor Who will not be broadcast ahead of Eurovision…
I celebrate signing off five chapters today, meaning I should easily hit my target of completing the remaining four by the end of Sunday the 18th! Go me!
I’ve done screen sign off of nine chapters during my time away, can I get those signed off fully on paper before I go back to work on the 19th? It’s a challenge. Plus I get all shy when attempting to describe a newly added vaguely sexual moment in one of those chapters, I can’t even say it here without getting embarrassed!
It’s the final day of my short holiday to Phoenix today, I reflect on my time here, the writing I got done, and what writing I need to do when I get home tomorrow…
I’ll tell you about the graduation ceremony that I was expecting to attend today, as well as the one I wasn’t expecting to attend. I also tell you about something rather lovely that happened at the first one.
