Marie Destinee a La Gra (00:01):
Welcome
to the Dire-Rie of a Sane Black
Woman.
I'm Marie, your host.
This is season two, episodesix, and today we're stepping
into a segment God has beennudging me about.
It's been unfolding and prettyquietly spiritually.
I've been reflecting on this.
(00:22):
And so I wanted to launch thissegment within the series called
The Legal Release.
And this isn't just aboutforgiveness, it's about
jurisdiction, it's aboutspiritual authority, it's about
what happens when we release thecase to heaven and allow
(00:48):
justice and mercy to movetogether.
But let me be clear (00:52):
I have not
arrived.
I'm not walking in perfectforgiveness and I'm walking
through it, right?
And um, this is not necessarilya teaching from the
mountaintop, it's a reflectionfrom the battlefield.
(01:12):
So if you've ever struggled toforgive, you're not alone.
I've tried to forgive those whohurt me in the past and those
who continue to hurt me on adaily basis.
And I'm not speakingmetaphorically, I mean
literally.
There are people who wake upwith one goal.
How can I make Marie's life aliving hell today?
(01:37):
How can I block her?
How can I hurt her?
How can I silence her?
How can I obstruct the progressof the destined state?
And while I know the Bible saysto forgive 70 times seven, I've
had to ask myself, is that evenhumanly possible?
(01:58):
Or is it just an aspiration tobe like Christ?
Sometimes I believe I'veforgiven, but then I still want
justice to be served.
And that puts me in a very realand very spiritual tension.
And so, because on one hand, itmight seem like I'm not obeying
(02:23):
scripture.
On the other hand, scriptureitself seems to wrestle with
this paradox, right?
So we have scriptures that say, forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespassagainst us.
But we also have scripturesthat say, Vengeance is mine and
I will repay, says the Lord.
So, how do you reconcile that?
(02:46):
How do I reconcile that?
How do we reconcile that?
Especially when the same peoplewho say, Let it go, let it go,
let it go, and forgive, as youcan tell, I'm not a singer, but
forgive, move on, are the sameones who continue to mock, who
(03:10):
continue to troll, and whocontinue to attack.
And these people are the sameones who also say you deserve
the targeting, you deservewhat's happening, and that it's
God's judgment.
And so, if they can say that, how can they expect to receive
forgiveness?
Because they're actuallycheering on judgment.
(03:33):
So I actually don't believe,and I've said this before, I
don't believe that God is what'shappening here is God's
judgment.
I believe that this is demonic,I believe that this is a
demonic attack, and so you know, that's that.
And everyone, and when when Isay people, you know, that are
(04:02):
saying let it go, forgive, andthe the constant attacks, it's
not just one group, right?
So, you know, you haveChristians, you have people that
aren't Christians, you haveperfect strangers, you have
familiar faces, you have peoplethat are potentially, you know,
(04:23):
family, you know, bloodrelatives that are actually
partaking in this, you know, whole situation.
And so, and then when I saythis situation, right, so like
forgiveness, at least for me, isnot only current events, right?
It's also things that hasoccurred in my past, things in
(04:47):
my past that I believe that I'mstill healing from, that are
still fractured, and wounds thatI need to fully heal from,
because with fractured woundsand with unhealed, you know,
trauma, that is an easy way forthe enemy to get in, to get into
(05:10):
those tra to get into thosecracks and to actually try to
attack you, you know, and so itjust festers and then it just
basically goes out of control.
And so the the the pattern isclear, right?
And the pain is real.
(05:31):
And so when I talk aboutforgiveness, I'm not talking
about erasing the offense perse.
I'm talking about releasing thecase to God, right?
There's a scripture that says, cast your cares on the Lord
because his burden is light andhis yoke is easy.
(05:52):
And so I'm talking aboutreleasing the case to God.
And I'll talk about a littlebit more as we go along about
the benefits of releasing thingsto God.
And so that release doesn'tmean the absence of judgment,
right?
And it doesn't necessarily meanjudgment either.
It just means surrendering theoutcome to the court of heaven,
(06:16):
right?
Casting your cares on God,releasing it to God.
That's surrender, that'ssurrendering to God.
Now, God may choose to removethe sin, you know, whether it's
your sin or whether it's someoneelse's sin, someone that is
sinning against you, as far asthe east is from the west, or he
(06:38):
may not.
And we're at the mercy of thecourts of heaven.
And I all I ask is that may hiswill be done, may God's will be
done on earth as it is inheaven.
And so this isn't a sermon,this isn't a Bible study, this
(07:00):
is my diary, right?
The name of the podcast is TheDire-Rie of a Same Black Woman,
which is a play on the worddiary.
And my this is my sincerejourney as someone who's working
out her salvation daily, right?
I know that I haven't arrived, and I know that the word of God
(07:24):
says that the work that He hasstarted in me, he will complete
it faithfully.
And so I, you know, I know thatwhile I believe God has
commissioned me to start aChristian ministry, this
particular platform ordocuseries, the dire-rie of a
(07:45):
same black woman, is not myChristian ministry, right?
It is a docuseries.
I am documenting what I'mexperiencing as a targeted
individual.
With that being said, I'm aChristian, I believe in God, and
so part of my journey and howI've been getting through this
(08:07):
is through the word of God andthrough prayer.
And I've been a Christian allmy life, and so part of me, as
you're getting to know me as anindividual, you will hear me
reference scripture, referenceGod, and things like that.
I'm not necessarily preaching, but you know, if this can
(08:27):
actually encourage someone, ifthis can actually help someone,
if this resonates with someone, that's great.
But I also think what I'msharing as far as like my pain,
my struggles, my experiences, will also help.
So in turn, this is alsoministry, right?
(08:49):
Not necessarily Christianministry, but it can be, right?
Because, you know, I believethat, you know, this journey,
like this is my documentation, and you know, God has been
prompting me.
(09:09):
He's prompted me to start, andyou know, this he's been
prompting me to start thisdocuseries, and so you know, I'm
still healing, I'm still goingthrough this, right?
So, like the attacks have notstopped, people have not stopped
at attacking me, they have notstopped targeting me, and so but
(09:34):
I believe that God can use, youknow, the imperfect, like the
in the imperfect person toconfound the wise, right?
I know that there's a lot ofhow can I say it, naysayers,
critics, oh, you know, she'sthis, she's that, like, you
(09:55):
know, she shouldn't be talkingabout God, like, you know, test
the spirit, whatever.
Look, whatever.
All I know is that God hascommissioned me.
I believe that God has calledme to ministry.
Um, ministry is not somethingthat I would have chosen in a
(10:17):
thousand years.
Like, I love God, I love theLord, but I never thought I
would be doing ministry in anyshape or form.
And I never even thought that Iwould be having like a
docusaries documenting me beinga targeted individual.
So, you know, sometimes thingshappen and you don't even know
what God is using it for.
(10:37):
And so I'm just basically beingobedient to the Holy Spirit
because, again, I've been nudgedto start my ministry.
And so, you know, my Christianministry.
So, and it it's been for quitesome time now.
And so, you know, I believejust as God is going to use the
(11:00):
dire-rie of a sane black woman,you know, I believe he's gonna
use my hurt, my pain, thehumiliation, the slander, the
gopssip, the gossip, the thedoxing, past mistakes, current
mistakes, the unforgiveness, youknow, to heal me and to
minister to me, but as a result,I believe that's going to also
(11:24):
help others.
And I believe that, you know, this this platform, although it
was not necessarily created asministry, it can be a form of
ministry to others.
And so while the primarypurpose of the documentation is
(11:44):
to document, but the sideeffects or the you know, the end
result would be healing, awareness, community, and so
forth and so on.
And so I think that you knowthis is a resource, and then
this would also help facilitatejustice as well, like spiritual,
(12:08):
like in the spiritual realm, and in in in in and also in the
real world.
And I don't want to use the theword real world because the
spiritual world is also real, soforgive me for saying that, but
let's just say the naturalworld, right?
And so I say all this, and andum this is a long introduction,
(12:32):
but again, we're gonna we'regonna get back to talking about
forgiveness and unforgiveness.
But I I just wanted to kind ofyou know get some things out in
the open basically to give moreclarity as to, you know, what
the purpose of my documentation,my docuseries is, and so forth,
(12:53):
and where I feel like God isleading me.
And so I believe that ministrystarts with the individual, and
I've had, you know, spiritualleaders, you know, that you
know, I've confided in, and theyknow what I've been going
through, and they have also kindof said the same thing to me.
(13:14):
Yeah, like you know, God isgonna use this, and that, you
know, ministry starts with you,and so I I believe that.
And so ministry starts with theindividual and God is working
it out in real time, right?
And so, you know, I think thatGod is basically with everything
(13:37):
that has happened to me, thatGod is gonna use it for my good
and for his ultimate glory.
And I just wanna reintroducemyself to you all.
I'm Marie, and I'm destined forgreatness.
And I have launched myministry.
(13:59):
It's called Destined forGreatness Ministries, and I
believe that the work that Godhas started in me, He will
complete it faithfully.
And what I'm documenting hereon the dire-rie of a same black
woman is ministry as well, as Ijust basically demonstrated,
right?
If you think about it, a diaryis in the real sense, right?
(14:23):
It's is about it's aboutdocumenting, right?
But it's about reflecting, it'sabout healing, and that's what
I'm doing here.
And so, with that said, I'll besharing some scripture, I'll be
sharing encouragement here andthere, and you know, this is
part of my reflection, this ispart of my healing, this is part
(14:44):
of my encouragement orexhortation to others, and it's
part of my spiritual unpacking,right?
So it's a layered release, it'spart of who I am, no matter how
imperfect I may be, no mattermy past mistakes, no matter what
(15:05):
I, you know, past mistakes thatI've made in the you know uh
distant past, you know, or youknow, recently, or things that I
continue to make.
This things that are in orthings I think that in some
(15:26):
people's minds that I shouldn'tbe doing, right?
I know that again, there are alot of critics, people that are
very judgmental, judging thebook by its cover, going off of
gossip, and a lot of otherdifferent things, but you know,
I'm choosing not to entertainthat, and I keep my eye on God.
(15:47):
And so I know that the word ofGod says nothing can separate us
from him, and so that includesmy sins, and so I know that sin
shouldn't keep me from thecalling that God has for me and
praising him or makingreferences to him.
(16:07):
Sin can't keep me from praisingGod, sin can't keep me from
making references to his word, and I also know that there are a
lot of people who are waitingfor me to fail.
As if what I'm doing, what I'mgoing through is not bad enough.
They're waiting for me to fail.
(16:29):
And so, and a lot of thesepeople, there are Christians.
There are the Christians whoshould be praying for me, but
they're actually praying againstme, praying for my demise,
praying for my downfall.
And I find that veryinteresting.
But I release it all to God, Irelease everything, everyone.
(16:53):
You know, this doesn't meanthat I won't speak about it at
all.
It means that I won't hold agrudge or think or take things
into my own hands, right?
I'm gonna continue to document,I'm gonna continue to come on
here and provide updates as towhat's going on.
You know, I'll selectivelyprovide updates about certain
(17:15):
things.
Certain things I'll provide inreal time, other things I may
have to wait to provide, youknow, information as to what's
going on for a variety ofreasons, but I will continue to
document, right?
Releasing it doesn't mean thatI won't continue to speak out.
(17:36):
So, but I will do things as Godleads me.
I will pray and I will obey andI will lead, I will yield when
necessary, and I will takeaction when necessary.
As the Bible says, faithwithout works is dead.
So, you know, there comes atime when we have to actually
(17:57):
act and not just pray and prayand pray and pray.
We have to, there comes a pointwhere we have to take action
and obey, and you know, delayedobedience is disobedience.
And so, you know, I'm choosingto obey God with launching my
Christian ministry, destined forgreatness ministry, but I'm
(18:19):
also choosing to obey God andlaunching this diary, this
docuseries.
You know, I believe that Godalso led me to speak out and to
do this docuseries.
And so, with all that beingsaid, I want to begin in
reflecting on the wordforgiveness, right?
Let's jump into the actualtopic of the day.
(18:40):
This was a very longintroduction, but I felt like it
was necessary for me to gothrough all of that.
What is forgiveness?
So let's start with clarity,right?
So forgiveness isn'tforgetting, it's not pretending,
it's not silence, it's aspiritual transaction, a legal
(19:03):
act of release that clears thecourtroom of your soul.
In Hebrew, the word nasa meansto lift or carry away.
In Greek, aphesis means to sendaway or to release.
Also is another word whichmeans to cancel a debt or to
(19:30):
show grace.
So forgiveness is how we removespiritual residue and reclaim
clarity.
Matthew 6 says, forgive us ourdebts as we forgive our debtors.
Psalms 103 says, as far as theeast is from the west, so far
(19:51):
has he removed ourtransgressions from us.
Luke 17 says, if they sinagainst you seven times in a
day, forgive them.
But hold up, wait a minute.
Let's look at this scripturemore closely.
Let's look at Luke 17, verse 3to 4.
(20:14):
And this is from the NewAuthorized King James Version,
and this is in red front, whichindicates that Christ is
speaking here.
So verse 3 says, Take heed toyourselves.
If thy brother trespass againstthee, rebuke him.
(20:37):
And if he repents, forgive him.
And if he trespass against theeseven times a day, and seven
times in a day, turn again tothee, saying, I repent, thou
shalt forgive him.
So basically the the firstthing that I want to highlight,
(21:02):
it's not just saying if yourbrother sins and he repents, you
know, rebuke him.
It's saying if he you heard it,like I read it word for word.
If he sins against thee and hedoesn't repent, you know,
rebuke, rebuke him.
And it's saying, if he does, then if he does repent, you
(21:24):
know, forgive him.
So it's not just if they sinand it's specifically if they
sin against you, and it's alsosaying there's a condition here,
right?
Wait a minute.
It's there's also a condition.
So the condition is if herepents.
(21:44):
Key word.
So the Bible is not telling usto take unlimited abuse.
He, you know, it's saying toforgive if they repent for the
sin that they have committedagainst you.
And repent is not only askingfor forgiveness, it's to turn
away from whatever it is thatyou're doing.
(22:04):
In my case, the sin persists, right?
The attacks, the targeting, whatever you may call it, it
persists.
There's no repentance, there'sno apology, there's no
acknowledgement.
So I should be rebuking what'shappening, and I should be
rebuking those who are actuallydoing those things to me, right?
(22:28):
So I technically don't have toforgive if I'm basing it on
chapter three.
Excuse me, if I'm basing it onverse three of this of Luke 17,
right?
Technically, I don't have toforgive.
I can rebuke every singleperson or thing, you know,
(22:51):
according to that chapter.
But with all that being said,I'm still releasing everything.
I'm releasing everyone to God,I'm releasing everyone to the
courts of heaven, regardless ifthey stop, regardless if they
repent, regardless if they askfor forgiveness.
(23:11):
It's above me now.
It's above me now.
The situation and the accuserof the brethren is in better
hands when I release it to God,and I'll also be better off for
it.
And that's becauseunforgiveness isn't just
emotional, it's legal.
(23:32):
And I'll tell you why.
Unforgiveness gives the enemypermission to continue to accuse
you, to continue to tormentyou, to continue to block
breakthrough and bring up yourpast, bring up past mistakes,
try to anchor you in your past, hold any little thing above your
(23:53):
head, right?
And so Matthew 18 tells thestory of the unforgiving servant
who was handed over totormentors.
Revelation 12 calls Satan theaccuser of the brethren day and
night.
So I just want to take a momenthere to read that passage, the
(24:18):
full passage for Matthew 18, 21to 35.
This part of the scripture istitled The Parable of the
Unmerciful Servant.
And this is actually, I'mreading from the NIV.
And so verse 21 says, ThenPeter came to Jesus and asked,
(24:44):
Lord, how many times shall Iforgive my brother when he sins
against me?
Up to seven times?
Jesus answered, I tell you, notseven times, but seventy-seven
times.
Therefore, the kingdom ofheaven is like a king who wanted
to settle accounts with hisservant.
As he began the settlement, aman who owed him 10,000 talents
(25:10):
was brought to him.
Since he was not able to pay,the master ordered that he and
his wife and his children andall that he had be sold to repay
the debt.
The servant fell on his kneesbefore him.
I count that, like just himfalling on his knees, I count
that as a form of repentance.
(25:31):
So it says here in verse 26,the servant fell on his knees
before him.
Be patient with me, he begged, and I will pay back everything.
The servant's master took pityon him, cancelled the debt, and
let him go.
But when that servant went out,he found one of his fellow
servants who owed him a hundreddenarii.
(25:54):
I don't know if I'm pronouncingthat right.
He grabbed him and began tochoke him.
Pay back what you owe me, hedemanded.
His fellow servant fell to hisknees and begged him, Be patient
with me.
I will pay you back.
So here you see the first guywho owed money, he asked for
(26:15):
forgiveness.
He said, you know, be patientwith me.
And he was granted thatpatience, and his debt was
canceled.
So this other guy is alsoasking for him to be patient,
which is also him essentially, you know, asking for
forgiveness.
It's a form of repentance, inmy opinion.
If I, you know, I'm making aparallel to Luke chapter 17.
(26:38):
So the servant said, Be patientwith me and I will pay you
back.
But he refused, and this isverse 30.
But he refused.
Instead, he went off and hadthe man thrown into prison until
he could pay the debt.
When the other servants sawwhat had happened, they were
(26:58):
greatly distressed and went andtold their master everything
that had happened.
Then the master called theservant in.
You wicked servant, he said, Icanceled all that all that debt
of yours because you begged meto.
Shouldn't you have had mercy onyour fellow servant just as I
(27:19):
had on you?
In anger, his master turned himover to the jailers to be
tortured until he should payback all he owed.
This is how my heavenly fatherwill treat each of you unless
you forgive your brother fromyour heart.
This is the word of the Lord,Matthew 18, 21 through 35.
(27:44):
So essentially, when we hold onto offenses, we leave the
courtroom door open, right?
We give the enemy legal groundto operate and we delay heaven's
intervention.
Not because God is unwilling, but because we haven't released
the case to him, right?
(28:06):
So I mean, if I would continueto do like I see Paula's, you
know, this is a very similarscripture to Luke uh chapter 17,
but I believe that thisscripture actually emphasizes
there's still a condition,right?
Because even though it'simplied, because he he did ask
(28:28):
for forgiveness and he asked forpatience.
But I think here there's likean emphasis on forgiveness,
right?
Lest you be tortured.
So the man repented, the debtorrepented, but I think here the
emphasis is more on forgivenesslest you be tortured, which we
(28:52):
don't really see in Luke 17.
So releasing the case toheaven, I believe, is the right
way to go.
Forgiving, releasing the caseto heaven.
In my case, I'm saying, look, they don't have to repent, they
don't have to turn away fromwhat they're doing, they can
(29:14):
continue to do what they'redoing.
I'm releasing it to God.
God says, Cast your cares on mebecause my burden is light and
my yoke is easy.
And so I'm surrenderingeverything to God.
When you release your case toheaven, forgiveness basically,
then you're essentiallytransferring jurisdiction,
(29:35):
right?
Isaiah 41 says, present yourcase.
Daniel 7 says, the court wasseated and the books were open.
Romans 12 says, Vengeance ismine, I will repay.
So God is the judge, Christ isour advocate, and you in your
situation, you're the witness inyour own situation.
(29:56):
So when you forgive, you're notsaying it.
Didn't matter or it didn'thappen or it didn't hurt me.
You're saying I trust that Godwill handle it.
I trust, you know, that God isgoing to handle it in a better
way than I ever could, right?
You're removing the legalground that the enemy would try
(30:19):
to claim over you, and basicallyyou're activating heaven's
flow.
So that basically releases youfrom any torment, any torture,
anything that the enemy can tryto do because otherwise you'll
give them legal ground, right?
The spiritual realm is allabout legalities.
Again, we are super natural, super and natural.
(30:44):
Everything that happens in thenatural realm is basically a
reflection of what happens inthe spiritual realm.
So, you know, I'm releasing itto God.
I'm not giving the enemy anylegal ground in the spiritual
realm or in the natural realm.
And so, with all that beingsaid, that doesn't mean that
(31:08):
judgment won't come, right?
And it doesn't mean thatjudgment will come.
It just means that I'm nolonger, as a person, as an
individual, I'm no longer theone that's going to decide that,
right?
I'm surrendering the case tothe court of heaven.
I'm surrendering it to God.
And whatever God chooses, through his mercy, justice, or
(31:32):
both, is his will.
So may his will be done.
May his will be done on earthas it is in heaven.
And so in my personalsituation, I've had to forgive
while the offense continued,right?
You all know that if you'vebeen listening to this podcast
(31:53):
for the past two seasons, youknow that this is still
happening.
And it's, you know, uh in someinstances, certain things have
escalated, right?
And so I've had to releasepeople, I've had to release
situations and things to God,right?
Even though they were stillhappening, even though there
were no, there was norepentance, even though I had
(32:16):
every right to rebuke, you know, what was happening and, you
know, who was actually sinningagainst me.
You know, I I believe, I don'tremember, I think it was in the
last episode I mentioned about, you know, acting, you know, out
of temperance and not using thefruit of the spirit.
(32:39):
And so that's what can happenif you let, you know, the
unforgiveness fester and thingslike that.
But, you know, sometimes it'sthere's a time for everything,
right?
God says it's okay to be angry, but don't sin, right?
So, you know, I I've I've hadI've had to speak my truth while
(33:01):
still healing, right?
I'm still healing, I'm stillcoping with everything that is
happening.
And so, as a natural humanbeing, if someone is harming
you, if they're doing theunthinkable to you, you're going
to be angry, you're gonna beupset, you're gonna actually
want judgment, you're gonna wantthem to be held accountable.
(33:26):
But, and it's okay to wantthat, but I think it needs to be
aligned with what God and howGod wants it to be done, right?
And so if we can use those twoscriptures, specifically Matthew
and Luke, and see how it'sdone, then I think we'll be in
alignment with the word of God.
(33:47):
So here, through the grace ofGod, I'm actually learning to
observe this more and more, andto try to apply forgiveness even
when they don't repent.
I know, you know, I highlightedthe fact that if they repent,
(34:09):
if they repent, you have toforgive them.
But I'm saying in my case, because these people, they're
not repenting.
They are like, they're holdingon, they're like, you know,
they're like, yeah, we're gonnacontinue to attack you.
They're not repenting.
So look, I'm gonna release itto God anyways.
And I know that, you know, things will work out.
(34:33):
I believe that every time Iforgive, heaven will move.
And I know that it's not alwaysinstantly, but it's strategic,
you know, it's according toGod's plan, according to his
purpose, according to histiming.
And so, you know, I know attimes, sometimes I might not
(34:54):
feel at peace right away, Imight be upset, but you know, I
do believe that things areshifting and will shift as a
result of releasing everyoffense, every hurt, every
attack, every spiritual attack, every attack in the natural,
