Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone to season two of the dive podcast.
This is very exciting and I'mvery excited that you're here.
I wanted to make this call avery yeah.
I wanted to basically sharethis information with you today
because we have a brand newseason of the dive.
If you're a fellow follower ofthe dive podcast, we have

(00:20):
actually been running for sixmonths and it's been so awesome,
and I just wanted to createthis small episode to give you
an understanding of what thepast six months has looked like
as the Dive podcast hasprogressed, because, as you can
imagine, there's been so manyupdates and progression
throughout the whole entirething.
But I also want to just tuneyou into what is coming with the

(00:44):
dive podcast as well.
So, as always, I just wanted tostart with a massive thank you
to everyone in the communitythat supported the dive podcast
over the past six months.
It has grown so much more thanI ever thought it possible, and
I really didn't even want tocreate a podcast.

(01:05):
It actually just happened outof speaking to my mum one day
and I was creating a platform.
I knew I wanted to create aplatform to help emerging
musical theatre performers, butI didn't know what capacity that
would be, and one day she justsaid to me why don't you create
a podcast?
It could be a great way to talkabout the topics I want to talk
on and also potentiallyinterview guests that are in the

(01:28):
industry and get their feedbackand advice and stories to share
with emerging performers likeyourself.
So that has all happened.
We've had 26 amazingprofessionals on the podcast so
far and each has been so unique, and I hope that you've gained
something out of the episodes, whether you've just started or

(01:50):
you've listened to the wholeentire catalogue of episodes
that we've had, and I justwanted to just quickly share a
bit of the achievements thatwe've done over the past six
months as a podcast and as acommunity achievements that
we've done over the past sixmonths as a podcast and as a
community.
So, as I said, we've been livenow for six months and some of

(02:12):
the highlights I just wanted toshare with you are that we've
had 4,549 downloads since webegan six months ago.
We are now live across in 40different countries and it's
also been listened to in 178cities, which is just wild to me
, and if you're an Australianand you're from Melbourne, you

(02:32):
are in the highest ranking oflisteners in the whole entire
world.
We also have our UK brothersand sisters, and as well as the
US as our second and third, butMelbourne, australia, australia,
is just where it's at.
So if you're in melbourne andyou're in a listener, thank you
so much.
You have a total of like 3 000of those downloads themselves

(02:53):
just in melbourne.
Yeah, 26 episodes that we'vegone through, which has been
awesome.
I just want you to know that allof the episodes were actually
created with you in mind as anemerging musical theater
performer, or if you're just aperformer in the arts, and what
I mean by that is, when I wasputting it together, I actually
reached out to a whole bunch ofdifferent students and

(03:13):
professionals and asked themwhat are your struggles?
What do you want to learn about?
What is something that if youcould be taught or learned
through someone who's been therebefore, what would that be?
And I really want to continuethis and I want to continue
going into the podcast itself.
So, if you're listening inright now and you're going, oh,
I'd love to hear from thisperson, or I would love to have

(03:34):
more conversations on this topic.
Comment in, message us, emailus.
This podcast is for you.
It's for you, the listener, itis not for me, it is for you.
It's for you, the listener, itis not for me, it is for you.
So I really just want to betalking about things that are
key and crucial to your successand fulfillment within the arts.
So whatever capacity that is,please let us know and I'll

(03:58):
absolutely be making making thata priority for upcoming
episodes.
So let's just go into now acouple of the highlights that
actually happened in terms ofepisodes.
Luca Donato, our fellow coachwithin the dive programs that
we've just been starting toannounce, has been the top

(04:19):
ranking episode out of the wholeentire six months, and under
that we have Todd Patrick, whocame on, and then we had Sam
Dodds.
So if you're in PSA, it'sactually been a bit of a PSA
reunion, but if you're not inPSA, that's all good.
Thank you to all of thefollowers that are part of
Patrick's School of the Arts andfor that amazing school that

(04:41):
helped me actually, as an artist, develop the skills and the
skills drive and the work ethicand the commitment needed to
have this amazing career thatI've had.
So I have a big gratitude forthat school.
So if you're from there, keepgoing and no matter what school
you're from.
Just know that when you aretraining, this is such a

(05:04):
fundamental time for you to growas an artist, to move forward
in the industry.
But yes, I just wanted to saykeep going.
You are learning so much aboutyourself and any time that we
are learning and we're growing,we are expanding and that makes
us have to reveal a lot ofthings about ourselves that we

(05:25):
didn't know before.
So it can be the toughest time, but just know that it is so
rewarding and just dive all in,put your heart and soul into
every single step and you willnot regret it at all.
Just to finish up, because Iwanted to make this episode
really short and sweet, I justwanted to give you an
understanding of what to expectover the next six months,

(05:46):
because we're changing up thepodcast to make it more friendly
, more consumable for you as anartist, but also help you tackle
the things that you really wantto tackle.
Like I said before, pleasecomment in, email us, message us
what you want to hear about andwe will make sure that all gets
answered.
So next six months, let's diveinto it.

(06:07):
So what I'm going to be bringingto you is a two-week podcast
slot.
So what this is for theprevious six months, how we ran
it is that we had a brand newprofessional artist every single
week come on.
So we are continuing this.
However, it's going to be everysingle two weeks.
You will get a podcast episodeevery single week, but how it's

(06:28):
going to run is like this On oneweek you're going to have
myself actually come on, like acall like this or an episode
like this, but I'm going to begoing and giving you practical
steps to implement right now sothat you can actually use what
you learn in podcast episodes orwhat you're learning throughout
learning from the dive itselfand how that can translate to

(06:51):
you.
So I'll be giving you actionsteps.
I may even be linking in someresources for you to go and
download and work through someyoga classes all resource-based
and all action-based, so thatyou can not only just become a
listener but you can also becomesomeone that is practically
moving forward in the industrywith the tools and the action

(07:13):
steps that I've been nowteaching to students inside some
of the programs and offeringsthat we've created with the dive
.
Every second week, you willhave a professional guest on the
show, and this is going to gofor the next six months.
Outside of professional artiststhemselves, we will have
professional musical theaterartists on here as well, but I

(07:35):
really want to give you the mostbenefit and I want to give you
the most knowledge possible sothat you can feel like what
you're doing is supported andthat you're getting feedback,
information from a wide range ofpeople to make everything make
sense for you as an individual.
So what does that mean?
I'm going to be bringing ontherapists.

(07:57):
I'm going to be bringing onmusic directors and
choreographers so there areother parts of the avenues that
build up the musical theatregenre or industry.
To make sure that you'rehearing advice from all
different avenues, to make surethat where you're going in your
career is aligned and alsoyou're just getting a overall

(08:19):
insight into advice fromdifferent people in the industry
.
I believe this is going to goand give you the most benefit in
terms of becoming aprofessional in the arts, and I
hope you're excited too.
So if you are excited, commentin, message in, and if there's
anyone that you want to hearfrom specifically, please let us
know.
So that's going to be happeningfor the next six months One

(08:40):
week you're going to hear fromme and then on the second week,
you'll be hearing from either aprofessional musical theatre
performer or someone to aid youin musical theatre, which we
love.
What else do I need to tell you?
I think that's basically it.
I think we've covered it all.

(09:01):
Yeah, I just wanted to say onelast thing that this podcast can
only be created and can onlykeep going if you want to hear
more about it.
So I just wanted to emphasisethe biggest thing on connecting
us together as a group andsharing episodes with your
friends.
Just know that just the simpleact of sharing an episode with
someone may make their day ormay help them in a way that it's

(09:22):
helped you.
Anytime you listen to a podcastepisode and you feel like, oh,
that could really help my friendor I, you know, maybe sending
it to yourself so you can listento it again in another time,
whatever it is, just know thatsharing ability is there.
Make sure you subscribe andleave us comments on each of the
episodes, as this will justhelp build us as a community.

(09:45):
That is the number one thing I'mlooking to build over the next
six months is our community.
How can we be more interactive, how can we come together more as
a community, and how does thislook like?
And basically, that starts withyou as an individual.
It starts with you showing upand being active, so that I'm
not just speaking to a cameraand the people that we have on

(10:05):
aren't just speaking theirstories and sharing their
thoughts.
It's actually active and I wantyou to feel like you're inside
the conversation.
So that's all I'm going tospeak on today.
I hope you're so excited forthe next six months of the dive
podcast.
I hope to include you so muchmore and just know that,
wherever you are in yourperforming arts journey, that

(10:26):
you are exactly where you'remeant to be, and just know that
I am here to support you, nomatter where you are.
I hope you have a wonderfulrest of your day and I'll speak
to you soon on future episodes.
I've got my cat in my hands.
Do you want to say anything?
No, it's very content.
See you everyone.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
