oh, we nominated you once andnow you guys are are big time on
Fox Uh. Fox Sports The Gamblernow gambling with our careers. That's a
dope shirt. Thanks. I gota dope shirt on too. Oh thanks,
man, this is this is ourshirt. At least I'm representing us
and not some has been golf podcast. I'm kidding, man, I love
(01:41):
swinging and ding. Dude. Wewere talking about the outing the other day.
I cannot wait for that, sodope, it's gonna be fantastic.
It's amazing to see all those companiescome together raise money for the Meal of
Foundation. But also like, yeah, it's the Masters are in town,
dude, So that's why they wearingshow. You know, it's time to
swinging and spended. They suspended theMasters to hello, brother, did you
(02:05):
see that whole? Did you?He said, Hello, friends? Have
you seen that trend? No?Man, we'll talk about it entirely,
but uh, Masters suspended due todarkness. Going to pick up at ten
to eight tomorrow morning. Uh.Dis Chambeau in the lead right now?
Tiger, Yeah, Tige for seventeenth. When do we stop? So did
he finish because he went off atthree forty five? Yes, to do
(02:28):
like he's he's through thirteen, sohe's I think I think he's through thirteen.
Yeah, he's around there. Youdon't gotta be precisely, I don't
Tiger would It'd be great if youhad to like sleep there, like on
that whole Like yeah, put throughthirteen place suspended due to darkness. He's
(02:51):
going to resume Friday morning. Whendo we stop rooting for Tiger? Like
he looks okay, you know he'she's on, he's minus one. When
somebody takes over the sport the wayhe did, that's the answer, because
it is. I mean, that'sright, that's why he's still around.
Because it's like Lebron replaced Jordan ina lot of I get that you say
(03:15):
that, but but talk to yourtalk to the kids you educate. They
know Lebron, you know Jordan's Youknow what's funny is the kids I educate,
even Lebron's too old for them. They're all Steph and okay, that's
fine, you know, Harding andall. That's like us with Kobe,
like we're too old for Jordan, too young, we're too little, too
(03:37):
young for does that what you mean? I mean the Jordan was our elementary
Yeah, too young. You're tooyoung for Jordan. And then you know
Kobe took us through high school.Shack absolutely Shack was there's how I beat
h that's a little bow. Ijust think it's you know, it's that
nice fairy tale that we want tosee that Tiger Woods come and he wins,
(03:59):
and then it's not it's not gonnahappen. Guess what if he wins,
It's not like he's gonna be theride into the darkness and say I'm
done with this. No, becausehe would have done that tonight. He
would have rode in the darkness, had no choice. But everybody put out
your cell phones, like is thatback of vans, line up the fairway
with cars and put your headlights on. Guys, I would have been and
would have been great. It's looks. I want my Tiger Woods. I
(04:24):
want to root for him. Ido. I'm just tired of being disappointed
Tiger. Yeah, he did lookgood tonight, though. I pictured my
Tiger in a tuxedo T shirt playingfrom Row playing and I'm like hammer drunk.
I mean, look, man,he's made a great living off of
this stuff. And as long ashe's still I'm gonna do the mother answer.
(04:46):
As long as he still likes theplane, enjoys himself, then I
just hope everybody has a good time. Well that shows like because because he
was on the same trajectory, likeobviously way more trends. He did so
much more for his sport. Butlike him, and he gave me juter
vibes until he had like all thesemishaps in his life, you mean the
(05:09):
whole, like just the situation.Yeah, yeah, but before all that
situation, even that like the mugshot where he's like his eyes are barely
open, and that was under paintbed lit his car. That was.
That was all after the affairs. Then he hurt himself and he was all
tripped up on pain meds and hegot pulled over. But he thought he
was drunk. He was just losthis dad though too that he's had some
(05:31):
bumps in the road, definitely,But he you know, he's he's just
he's he's human. We all are. He's a human, except for you
robots out there. Seriously, damnrobots. How there it is. I
don't want to say it all loud. That's kind of embarrassing. Yeah,
it's number to be a little bitmore. It was. He actually was.
(05:56):
Yeah, we uh the second timearound, guys. We were muted
the first time, which some ofyou might wish we were muted. Right
now, let's get into baseball, because that's a part of the reason why
we're even on this radio station tobegin with. Anyway, all right,
for the most part, we're abouteleven twelve games in Yankees and Dodgers first
teams, to ten, respectively forthe American and National League, Braves,
(06:18):
Phillies and Mets, even the Nats. Guys, everybody but the Marlins tight
race. I mean, I knowthe season just kicked off, but the
Mets stuck it to the Braves today. That was great to watch. And
then you had Phillies who ended upbeating Pittsburgh. I mean, oh,
who cares if you have that buttonready. But don't get me wrong,
(06:39):
I mean that they're playing well.Do you know the problem with Phillies offense?
Mike, No, you want toguess, like, what is your
Do you have any theories on why? I mean with their lineup. You
don't want to say they're struggling tobe as explosive as they were last year.
(06:59):
And there's one Philadelphia Philly that saysTrey Turner, No, no,
Nick Castellanos himself might have changed today. So basically he says that the reason
there they have this slow start they'renot as explosive is they're trying to be
(07:21):
more disciplined at the plate. ButPhilly rob So there's a fine line between
being disciplined and just being scared totake chances. It's fair, that's fair,
like the uh and that's happened inNew York in Queens where like the
analytical department takes over and like youhave to sometimes like the moment has to
(07:43):
catch and if you're just playing offthe back of a baseball card and hoping
that the analytics are there, one, yeah, that's just not the way
you win. I'm glad you broughtthat. Brought that up, my friend,
because you're absolutely right, dude, analytics are great for ball. You
know, everybody can go don't watchit. I mean you can watch it
because it's a good movie, butyou go read the book Moneyball. It's
(08:05):
fantastic Bill James. I mean hereally he brought numbers into this game that
people weren't looking at. But nowyou have these teams that are too focused
on the numbers and they think thatthat equates the plate discipline, and they
think if they start chasing and chasingand chasing and those numbers drop. I
mean, the Phillies are now doingit. I think what they're doing is
they're looking at their past two seasonsby the number and seeing on what they
(08:28):
need to improve on. And they'reall like, we gotta to disciplined at
the plate. We gotta do this, we gotta do that. And now
they're concentrated, constantly concentrate on thisnumber. This number needs to go up,
and it needs to go up andneeds to go up, and it's
making them stiff at the plate.Yeah, and they're not loose, they're
not swinging there. They're they're justbeing overly cautious and they're in their own
heads. No, if you thinkabout every time the Phillies have gotten deep
(08:50):
into the playoffs, with the exceptionof probably two thousand and nine, they're
always the underdogs. And what Imean is like they're ranked third and the
like, yeah, I got likeJimmy Rollins going, we're the team to
beat, and we're like, okay, that's cute, Like you know what
I mean. And then they arebecause they're they're playing with house money.
Like now, if you're trying tobe like, oh, we we are
(09:11):
the team, like it's a lotharder to have that target. One teams
that normally wouldn't show up show up, and two like, yeah, you're
overthinking. So I think they're like, oh, how can we get to
the next level? Yeah, Andthis is one season where for the most
part, they came in brand news, everybody healthy. So now they're I
(09:31):
mean, don't guys, we aretwelve games in. I don't care if
you were zero and twelve at thispoint, like it's nothing to even remotely
start to worry about here and reallydive too deep or even celebrate or exactly.
But you know it's I think you'reright. I think they're they came
in healthy. They they are scratchingtheir heads like we we you know,
(09:54):
why aren't we picking up where weleft off? As if there wasn't a
span of six months between the timeyou guys stop plants, maybe four months
between the time you guys stopped playingand then when you picked it up again.
So you guys got you everybody's gotto click together too well. Also,
like you've heard it, like eventhe Braves are overthinking themselves. Just
saw sixteen to four to the Metswith only two home runs. I mean,
(10:15):
the multiple RBIs in each home run. But they were talking about how
like maybe winning the division is hurtingthem because then they get that week off
and then they can't get it backtogether. So they're like, maybe we
should win a wild card. It'dbe easier that way, Like, and
it's just it's ridiculous to even thinkthat nobody has the goal with winning the
(10:37):
wild card. But that's a conversation. That's a conversation that now the Braves
are having within themselves mentally, andthey're telling the press about it. So
and it's just so, yeah,I think it, like honestly in a
lot of ways, Like right now, the Mets, if they could string
it together, figure it out, maybe pick up a couple of pictures,
(10:58):
like starting pitchers, Like we couldbe the Phillies of two years ago.
And I'm cracking up because it's justthe other two were just in your head
and I never realized that until we'rehaving this conversation now. It's just wild
because it's it's like to that's tothe average person, that makes sense,
right, We say it all thetime. We're like, oh, you
need a scrappy team, they're gonnago Philly. Was that scrappy team.
(11:20):
It's fun years ago, three yearsand it's just like that's that's such a
stupid mentality. But like you said, now it's all right, it's in
your head, but it's that's allit is, is in your head.
If you're that top seed and someonelimps into the wild card and then you
have to play them, it's like, oh, man, this team's got
momentum. This team's but like youguys understand, momentum is not a I
(11:41):
mean, it's a real thing,but it's not something that you're looking at
on paper. Like the stats arestill as good as today's starting pitcher,
exactly. Your momentum means nothing whenyou're starting a new game, like and
and the other thing is what Iwould share is like the way the Phillies
did it. So they're in theWorld Series, right, almost won it
all. Next year they lose thelast game seven of the NLCS in their
(12:07):
own ballpark, right, so they'reon a downward trend. Like the fan
base is looking at it as,man, we made it to the World
Series the year before, and nowwe didn't even do that, So like
it's like this domino effect of nonyou know, you're trying to figure it
out. So they're overthinking the game. And really they just got to get
back to where they are. Andeven with their playlist and stuff like that,
(12:30):
Oh that was a second place playlistand all this, like, don't
change anything. Don't change anything becauselike you were that close. Yeah,
dude, their locker room should beexactly the same. Whatever one that wants
to be marketed from a team perspective, like that's off front office. I
don't know these guys. And Castalanosdoesn't care about any of this stuff,
Like Bryce doesn't care about anything.Who cares about a song and all that
(12:54):
stuff. Dude, whatever is playingin the clubhouse, just keep playing it.
Don't worry about how your team's beingmore get in and what the fan
base needs, this, that andthe other thing. Like just play baseball,
especially twelve games. You're twelve gamesin. I mean, let's not
let's let's talk all Star break andfigure out where you're at then and and
then you know what to do andwho's healthy. I mean, things can
change in three days from now.Yeah, Yankees off to a good start.
(13:20):
Well we'll talk about him a littlebit. First to ten in the
American League, Dodgers first to tenin the National League. They both hit
ten wins on the same day, which was Tuesday, and then they all
and they both lost on Wednesday. So, but a few things that's from
Yankees perspective that we haven't been reallyseeing. First of all, Clay Holmes
is somehow has an e r Aof zero h even though he's his I
(13:41):
forget what his his whip his whipis, but I mean, dude,
he he hi whip whip. ButI think, uh, I think the
Yankees are starting to fight a littlebit. They're a little bit more explosive
than last year, it seems tobe. And there's a few reasons for
that. Number One Juan Soto,Yeah, I mean, good God,
(14:03):
what a start. Yeah, he'sGame one. It's like the man,
I'm glad I called that guy.You never see that with a big name
of species, not in the Bronx, on the bronx for that quick of
a start, which means will probablybe not exactly I's gonna say it's gonna
pull both quads tomorrow exactly. Stromanadded, uh, you know, a
(14:24):
nice um added to the gap,I guess, because since we couldn't get
Snell but yeah, he lost hisfirst outing out or second outing out,
but still good things to see.Volpi's playing great, Stanton's playing great,
Rodent not too bad himself, evenlike Vertigo, the bullpen's coming together.
(14:46):
You know who's not Aaron Judge.Yeah, it's you're not hearing much about
him, Like it's not you know, then that's a good problem to have
your your star player is not upto you, is slumping and you have
ten wins already in this can wecall it a slump and not even it's
(15:07):
just like, no, I getthat. I'm just saying, like,
it's not he's not mister highlight likeI could think of Juan Sooto highlights right
now, I think of three yeah, his arms. Yeah, so damn
good. It's insane. That outfieldis just it's unreal man. Now,
And again, like you said, that's a good problem to have, right
when your star player is not reallyshining and there's three or four other guys
(15:30):
that are shining. Right. Also, it's such a New York Yankee thing
to have. Like, I don'tknow, Jeta, it seems like he
lost his step that ground ball hestruggled to get to. Like meanwhile,
you're like thirty and two at thetime, and this guy's calling wf an.
He's like, I don't know,Gita, he's lost his step.
I don't know. Do you thinkwe should put ABC's over there? I
mean he was a short stop, you know. Like it's just like it's
(15:52):
like Yankee fans always picked stuff apartthat doesn't need to be like, dude,
just enjoy the ride. Bro,that's Aaron probably wants to hit more
than they're better than he's hitting rightnow. But as long as they keep
winning games, guess what, it'snot gonna hurt. And a slump is
okay if you're winning games. Still, Yeah, the pressure doesn't build until
you're losing games. Then everybody's lookingat you. I mean, of course
(16:15):
he wants to break out of it, and then he's a baseball play he's
a professional. No one wants toget up to the plate and not get
hit. You get an a hit. But yeah, it's like it's it's
like like even coaching, right,so I coach, and it's like if
you bench, like let's say youkeep a player on the bench the whole
game and you win, you don'thear anything from that player or their parents
(16:36):
they're happy the team won. Yeah, the second you you keep up that
player on the bench and you lose. The first thing, why I would
if I played, I would probablywould have contributed, would have done better.
And then the parents are like, well, you probably would had a
better churned to you put so andso in. It's like, no,
man, everything's all well and goodif you are winning. So Aaron just
has to keep doing what he's doing. Ignore the New York media a little
(16:57):
bit and call it what it is. I mean, come on, it's
again the same thing we said whenwe're talking about the Phillies. We're twelve
games in, guys. Yeah, that's that's the thing like baseball, Like
that's what I love about it.Like you could go hot or cold for
like ten games and the sky couldbe falling or it could be on top
of the world. Like you know, I was equated to two years ago
(17:19):
when we joined the Gambler. BothNew York teams were in first looked like
the Phillies had no shots. Looklike, next thing, you know,
it's October and they're in the WorldSeries and we're at home. So it
just you never know, it's along season. You never know what you
got, uh, you know, and you just hope that your leadership and
(17:40):
the owners and the money you're investingin this team because I mean, we
pay their salaries. And regardless whenanybody wants to say, you know,
the fans are the reason the peoplethat go out by the merch buy the
tickets or the reason why the youknow, the owners are able to pay
those salaries and the players are ableto get those salaries. So your investment
(18:00):
is as much as theirs and moneywise, and you know, you just
got to enjoy the ride and hope, hope it's the right one for you.
Well, I think what my cohost is trying to say is that
baseball is like a box of chocolates. H and you never know, you
never know what you're gonna get.No, yeah, what you're gonna get,
(18:22):
that's what. No man. No. By the way, dude,
hate that movie? Do you hatethem? What? Yes? You hate
them? A terrible movie? Yeahtoo, because like, yeah, they're
like Jenny and I go together, like peas and carrots. Peas and carrots
are trashed together, like there's notthere is not a veggie would suck together
(18:49):
more than piece of carrots because you'renot getting a good carrot and you're not
getting a good pete because chances arenobody's going out buying Grade A carrots and
mixing them with like it's always ajar option, Like you're getting mixed veggies,
like there there's no time where peasand carrots are good. And also
like it's kind of like it's ifyou go back and like really think about
(19:11):
the you know, like Tropic Thunderas messed up as it was like explained
that you don't do he won, though he won that. I get that.
I'm not arguing that, but haveyou ever seen the outtakes where he's
laughing at at some of his thingsthat he was saying, like he was
(19:32):
aids in the movie pick it apart, peas and carrots, No, Like
it's it's it's an awful movie. The legs are gone. Bubble Gump gets
killed right and then and then he'sthe only franchise that comes out of this
thing, Bubble Well, yes,but I don't even know if that franchise.
It's definitely tied. You think,Yeah, when you sit at a
(19:52):
table, it says run Forest runor stop Forest stop. Never I've never
eaten and it's got all the memorabilia. It's yeah. They were like,
hey, we're gonna kill the blackguy and then we're gonna take this idea
that he had enfranchise it like it'sit's it's a white America. He just
really just hated on Forrest car It'sa terrible movie. I wouldn't say it's
(20:15):
terrible. Terrible, couldn't be terrible. It's horrible. You're right, it's
not terrible. It's horrible. Likeand then he runs, but also like
as a runner, not realistic, and then he creates a bumper sticker why
he's running not realistic, No shinsplints, like the man spent his childhood
(20:36):
embraces, dude, I mean, come on, and they broke free and
he's yeah, he's he's a freakingnature. Also like what was his diet?
Chocolate? Maybe yeah? And thatso he's like, you know what
I this, I'm loaded up oncaffeine and chocolate. She just gonna go
out for a run, like stop, man, it's all the grown man,
just chocolate with no scene of himsitting on the toilet like oh no,
(20:59):
was it not? Was it?Now he's mocking veterans like are you
serious? Like who wrote this?Movie, mocking mocking, Like now I
was like, I not only didI run across country now I'm a Vietnam
vet both my legs, yeah yeah, while Lieutenant Dan just sitting there legless
(21:22):
like it's it's not a what didyou want him to do? Like strap
him on his back or like pushhim around on one of those like that.
I just want a decent movie, you know, like stick to toy
story. Man. I can't,man, I can't it with your your
hate for things like like Forrest Gumpand side Felt. It not every good
movie. It's not a good movie. You're right, Mike, it's a
(21:45):
great movie. Who sat there andwas like, let's turn that on?
Yet you know, you know whata show? A movie that I did
turn on again and again took everyand purposely. I was dating like it
was high school. I was datinglike four girls at the time, not
bragging, for you're bragg talking.I wasn't dating. I was talking and
hanging out with uh one's upstairs.I would convince them all to see the
(22:11):
same movie one because I loved itand it was old school to movie that's
a rewatchable movie, that's a thousandtimes better. Not getting nominated for an
A should God, it should havebecause it was more realistic than anything,
especially in my life, that ForrestGump did. Forrest Gump mocked uh people
(22:33):
run marathons and and and him mockedthem. He mocked them. He made
it seem easy, He made itseem way too easy. Just get out
and get off your park bench andjust freaking start running in old man tennis
shoes. I'm not buying it,goes to Vietnam, mocks them, steals
a concept, makes it global froma black man. It's a terrible movie.
(22:56):
You know what Old School did? You're my boy Blue. That's it.
That's it, that's it. That'sgreat. It's a great movie.
Stay with us, guys. Wehave to take a short break. We

one of those movies five of theold school scenes that I was thinking about.
(23:40):
I couldn't say it, Like, what do you recommend? I know
in the back seat, Oh man, just all of it for the gang.

Is. Let's get into Ippy alittle bit here. Yeah, because he
stole, allegedly, according to hischarges, sixteen million dollars from from showy
(25:12):
Otani. So ippy, Missahara, what however you say his name stole sixteen
million dollars report six million? Hmiss Ohia, I think I said.
I think it's okay. I justcalled him ippy Hippy Hippy skip goat Hippy
Is, of course, the formerlong term interpreter for shoh Otani got into
(25:37):
a huge scandal during this art offseason, or at least start of this season,
when pitchers and catchers are reporting backall the way back in February uh
into March that he had a hugegambling debt and he stole the sixteen to
help cover a lot of that.I am not a very good gambler at
all. I think if I evergot to a one million dollars in debt.
I would probably just stop or jumpoff a bridge one of the other.
(26:00):
But if you need to steal sixteenmillion to cover most of your gambling
debt, that's an insane gambling debt. What I also don't understand is if
you go into his betting history,he's down forty million. So where did
he get the other I'm sorry, spoiler alert, being an interpreter's not gonna
pay you know, thirty six milliondollar or twenty six million. He had
(26:25):
to jump on a three leg parlaythat was had two hundred odds plus two
one bet that was ten bucks. That's when he's like, dude, I
of course that's the one that hits. He's got a bet for five hundred
grand. I'm backing he got aHe had a ten dollars free play from
fan Duel that he used for tendollars. Now is the perfect time to

first question was, how the helldid he get access to the money so
easy? Well, it's very easywhen you interpret for someone because they have
no idea what's going on. Soyou walk them to the bank and you
open up an account. And whenyou do that mic, you get all
the account information and you can justpretty much take out money whenever you want,
(28:21):
which is exactly what he did.Okay, unreal. So it started
all the way in twenty twenty one. Allegedly allegedly says that the first unauthorized
transfer from his bank account and thisis mine you his salary, any promo
deal. Pretty much all of Otani'smoney is going in this account. But
the first allegedly unauthorized transfer from theaccount was November fifteenth, twenty twenty one,
(28:42):
where he took forty and ten dollars. There's the ten bucks, yep,
and it aligns with the timing ofa text message between it be and
a book maker discussing the amount thathe was laying for the bet uh And
then all the way fast forward toMay twenty twenty three, his transfers went
(29:03):
from around forty thousand dollars through aboutfive hundred thousand dollars each five excuse me,
yes, five hundred thousand dollars foreach transfer, placed in twenty five
wagers per day, and lost nearlyforty one million. Yet dollar it makes
no sense, like honestly, like, none of this makes sense because it's
(29:25):
forty one million dollars. Like that'sa lot of freaking money for an interpreter
like to lose, right, oreven to think that he could gamble it.
And I understand, like, ifyou have a gambling problem, please
call one a hundred gambler. I'mtold they could help you. But what
I don't understand about this is likeone like, now, all sudden,
Otani understands what's going on, youknow what I mean? Like, so,
so we're gonna play the card thatYeah, he was able to open
(29:48):
up bank accounts, he was ableto do this. He was able to
do that without Otani knowing. Butthe minute it hit the fan, all
sudden, now Otani knows. AndI don't get that. And the one
part where the gamblers knew it be'srelationship with Otani because they were threatening it
be to pay saying that we're watchingOtani Walker's dog. Yeah, watching Walker's
(30:11):
dog. You're not calling me back. I'm gonna go up and talk to
Otani and figure out how to getin touch with you since you right.
So also like if somebody it soundslike you're threatening me, uh, you
know, Also, like it takesa lot of skills to be a thief
and have a gambling problem, youknow what I mean. And and to
get access to that much money. That's all I'm trying to say. So
(30:33):
you're that smart to be able toget that much money, but also like
you have that big of a gamblingproblem also, I mean Otani too.
It's like you don't even know thismoney is missing, like you're just I
mean, that's a rich person problem. I can't hate him for that,
making hundreds of millions of dollars offendorsements and everything else. And I've been
told about agents like you know andpeople in the industry that yeah, that
(30:57):
can actually happen. Yeah, dude, if you're making one hundred million dollars
a year and you're missing forth,Like if I'm making one hundred grand a
year, I might not notice fourteengrand, you know what I mean.
Like the same thing, same scam. I've heard bartenders do that, like
they'll overtip themselves. You're looking atme like I'm crazy, Like they'd be
(31:17):
like think about it, Like howmany times do you go back and double
check the amount you wrote down ontip first the amount they actually pull from
your Like if you tip a waiteror a bartender, like on a credit
card or a waitress or waitress andthey go back and change the amount.
Yes, there was a Twitter feedabout yes exactly. That's why you always
like keep waldy. It's weird keepingit. But it's weird that people like
keep the receipt of like what youwrite. But yeah, you know you're
(31:40):
right, I'm not. I'm neverchecking the amount I tip on a credit
card. So if it was acouple bucks off, that's true, like
tip ten bucks and it's twenty likeyou know what I mean, Like that's
wild. No, dudeh I bartend. You can't leave it tip on the
credit card. It's only cash,so that yeah, that's not fair either.
I like it though, because whenI like, when we go out
to dinner, I try to bringcash to the tip because when you tip
(32:04):
on the card, it goes rightto their house or or like they have
to all share it too. Wellyeah, I mean usually places pool tips
anyway, but yeah, it goesright to the check and then you get
taxes taken out so count so it'sreally like yeah, so it's like for
the people like so for example, guys, I bartend at a place that
doesn't do tips. On credit cards. So some people are like, I
(32:25):
don't have cash, and you're like, dude, I don't care, and
they're like, well, what doyou mean. It's like, well,
if you didn't have cash and youtake like I'd get taxed. So I'll
take my losses there to not takemy loss at the end of the year.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, allright, back to to it be.
It wasn't all gambling, Mike.He did use some of Otani's money
to buy baseball card QR. YourVenmo, that's actually a credit idea.
(32:51):
I should do that for you beforeyou leave. Should No, I know
how to do it, but Imean, like, actually, here's my
vemo. Just have it in yourphone as a as your favorite and just
be like, yeah, you don'thave to has Murphy crying. That's just
my daughter. She's hungry. She'shungry, playing Sarah McLaughlin in the background.
(33:16):
Dude, hippy man, what iswrong with you? Hippy? I
can see steel, I could seestealing money to buy a base name,
you know what I mean. Butcome on baseball cards. Wow, dude,
I've never stole money for baseball cards. I bought a ton of baseball
cards today. Actually, did youreally I did. I'm addicted. I
want to start getting forty million dollars. I want to start getting into forty
(33:39):
bucks. I really want to startgetting into the base any trading card.
Don't do it, man, Ijust want. I just love ripping packs.
Like the smell ripping packs, man, like a drug. You want
to packs, man, But no, it's like the smell of fresh baseball
cards and just the idea of openingit and like it could have something crazy
(34:00):
in it. Never has in myentire career, uh of life, I
should say a career of ripping packs. But uh yeah, it's just a
cool feeling pack ripper. It's justwhat I do. Shout out to Nanny
Cope. I knock on both sidesnow, Peyton does that even I'm showing
brace doing it when we open packstogether. I don't know what you just
said. Not good like you knockon both sides. So if it's a
(34:22):
pack of cards, like you're like, we also do that on scratch offs.
It's like like a pack of cigarettesfor good lucks, not not like
you got to pack him in.Yeah, we knock and then you where
you scratch him. That was agood luck churn never worked, so I
was out my next question. Maybehe's not a good luck god. Uh,
(34:43):
fantastic. Where we at. We'regonna take a quick break, and
then we're gonna talk about the greatesthits of O. J. Simpsons.
Guys. Uh yeah. O J. Simpson is dead. He died.
We're gonna talk about that. It'spacing bills first. We will be right
back Divide Live on Fox Sports TheGambler. So Mania Flair, OJ,
(35:07):
Yeah or no? You should doOJ first because I feel like that could
go longer. No, No,do Mania Flair. I know, Joe,
I like that. Let's do it. You're listening to The Divide right
here on The Gambler, and we'reback. You had a pretty busy week
man. First of all, thisis the first time we're sitting down and
talking to each other in a while. But you got home from your vacation
(35:30):
and I felt like you stepped offthe plane and went to WrestleMania. Yeah
it was. It was crazy. So I'm sure people feel bad for you.
Now that you stepped off the planefor vacation, you can go to
WrestleMania, which is now two days. Yeah. I just learned, so
Peyton, I'm going to backtrack reallyquick. Thursday, Peyton's last day of
school, half day. I committedto her why her mom was away on
(35:55):
another business trip, that she could. She bought these eggs and she wanted
to paint them, give them toall the talent and people I work with
that she knows I work with everyday. So she had one for Becks,
Buster, Rach on the Radio,Nugget, Sean Brace, Frankie Darcel,
Miss Patty Jackson, like all theway down to Roxy on Rising Grind,
(36:19):
Jeff my president, some of myemployees. So she was like,
yeah, you're gonna sign me outof school. We're gonna drop these off.
She was she had a half day. I got her out like ten
minutes early. We go we'd godown there. She drops them off for
like, hey, look like shemade these eggs. She's hugging everybody,
hanging out. Then we get onthe plane. We go to La Hollywood.
(36:40):
We're in the center, like rightacross the street from the Chinese Theater
in what looks like the Haunted Mansionfrom not the Haunted Mansion, the Hollywood
Tower Terror. Yeah, like that'swhat our hotel looked like, and it
was haunted. People are telling us. It's haunted. Homeless. People were
like, yo, bro, thatthing's haunted. Be in there. It
(37:01):
was beautiful, It was awesome. It was really cool. We went to
the iHeart Music Awards. Great,we go to Disneyland, We went to
Universal, Maryocart Awesome weekend, getoff the plane. Literally worked Friday,
regular work day, closed some deals, did some stuff for the Gambler Saturday.
Yeah, I brought the earthquakes backwith us. And then and then
(37:23):
after Shock from La like that wasmy gift to everybody. And then Saturdays
WrestleMania with Rick Flair and he's everythingyou thought he was, like, you
know, we had Alexa there fromthe Network and he was in love with
her. He was in love withanything that walked past them. But look,
it was a really really cool experience. It was awesome to see,
(37:46):
you know, shout out to GreenLegion. They put on a heck of
a show. But it was along day, dude. It was a
long day because these are like sixhours before WrestleMania, like, and then
you had to go in and everyday I didn't have a ticket to go
in, including the first day.Stacey got my daughter a ticket and my
(38:06):
wife a ticket. So there wasan understanding that I wouldn't be able to
go in and they would just goin because Peyton really wanted to go to
WrestleMania. I was like, dude, I get it, Like it's all
good. John Jansen got me aticket in and it was great. You
know. So once the first night, second night's same kind of thing.
We had people from our Punk tournamentthat got these amazing sweet tickets thanks to
(38:27):
our present president. But I didn'thave a ticket and I got one last
minute. It was pretty epic.So the Rock was there, some other
old heads, Undertaker Sina. Itwas nuts, man, It's absolutely and
I never well, I mean,I know they switched it because you told
me like a couple years ago tonow, a two day event used to
(38:49):
just be like that one. Firstof all, how many like pay per
views? There's like I feel like, is there more pay per views for
wrestling now than I think? Thereused to be like five major pay per
views. There was like Summer SlimHim and Real Rumble and Yeah, Hell
in a Cell and WrestleMania. Yeah, it's almost monthly now there's the core
four that's always going to be there. So it's WrestleMania Survivor Series, SummerSlam,
(39:10):
and the Rural Rumble. Those arecore for Those are the best for
those are the marquee of everything. But there's all these other uh pay per
views, and they had them askids. They would they would coin them
as in your house. So it'sjust like once a month, and it
was like a little bit better thanraw. Uh. But yeah, they
kind of went away once SmackDown joinedbecause like they were like, dude,
(39:32):
there's a lot of content already.Yeah, but now they're back because you
got Saudi Arabia once Wrestling, whichwhen they announced the Saudi Arabia match,
everybody in Philly bood. Now.I was kind of cracking up. It's
kind of funny, so you kindof you can't take you could take Philly
for what it's worth, but itwas funny. So dude. Yeah,
so now not only is it morethan four pay per views, uh,
(39:54):
it's WrestleMania. It's two nights,you know, so they're they're doing it
for two nights. It was justintense, dude, Like I it for
me, it was like the superBowl but multiple days and like and what
really put it together was we're broadcastingwith Rick Flair and we're in this box
above Chicken Pietez and Infinity Live, and there is a crowd of hundreds and
(40:19):
hundreds of people beneath us, andthey're all looking up and we don't even
notice they're looking up until somebody noticedand they're like, look, everybody's looking
at us. And Rick Flair justgets up and he starts doing crowd shots,
which was hilarious but like it wasjust a mind blowing experience. And
then Quimby goes and we have todo it all over again tomorrow, and
he's just like, oh my god, thanks Quimby for sucking the air out
(40:43):
of the room. No, no, no, it made it because it
was like a once in a lifetimething, but now we got to do
it twice. Oh he said itlike that ass Yes, yeah, it
felt good. It felt good. And then I was able to then capture
Sunday in a way with Tie insuch a way that was poetic and better.
So it was like, imagine ifyou got to relive your wedding,
(41:06):
all right, but the parts youenjoyed. I remember when I thoroughly enjoyed
my wedding. Man, it wasits great Uh No, but I'm just
saying, like, if you likethose moments, you're like, I could
never do this again, and you'relike, actually, you're gonna do the
same exact thing. You mentioned thatyou're gonna do the same thing. So
that was That's been my week.Monday was dreadful. I'm still tired.
(41:30):
Uh. The only other person that'son the reverse version of this was Jansen
went from WrestleMania to Vegas, andI feel like that's almost as tough as
what I did LA into Vegas.Just a flight, a normal flight into
Vegas exhaust. The other part waslike, so Friday, I'm the only
one that got up early in myhouse, and then Saturday, like and
(41:50):
Sunday, I was able to sleepenough that I still was jet lagged and
we were still going to bed, like I wasn't even getting home till two
am either night day. So Istill feel jet lagged and nobody cares.
So I was like, cool, sorry, bring your problems elsewhere, buddy.
It sounds like it sounds like ayou sounds like a you problem.
(42:13):
O. J Simpsons dead you guys, I'm sorry. If you're hearing this
for the first time, you shouldn'tbe, though. This is a weird
one. Man, this is likea strange man, Like, I don't
know, you look other than thetiny glove looks like here grant my strong
edge. Look man, Uh,it's a weird one because he was a
(42:37):
celebrated athlete that murdered his wife anda wife's friend. Like there's no other
way to say it. He wasn'tconvicted, but ninety nine percent of America
agrees that he got away with murder. And dude, it's crazy because people
that were born even after the trialstill know about O. J. Simpson.
(42:58):
Yeah, they know just how crazyeverything is. Now the crazy is
gonna pick up again. The documentary'sare gonna get Washington, Bronco sales are
going to go through the roof.Like it's just it's gonna be a little
uptick of of everything. Yeah,it's just a weird feeling because it's like
the news hit from a sports perspective, because these dude's in the Football Hall
of Fame. He's got a bustingcan you you know what I mean?
(43:20):
Like stripped of his highsman and allthat other stuff for obvious reasons. But
like he uh, he's he's youknow, he's solidified in in the sports
world forever. But from everything elsethat happened after that, people are kind
of like, so you got allthese news outlets ESPN CHEF, like,
you know, reporting it from asports perspective. It's even on the Football
(43:43):
Hall of Fame website, you know, you click on each name and it's
O. J. Simpson and theyupdated everything and it's prostate cancer according to
his family, which you know, sucks. It could have been avoidable.
Well you know what else could havebeen avoidable. But that's it, like
minus the fact that he had likethe uh, if I did it,
this is how I would have doneit, my god, Like I almost
(44:07):
like if you really think about himpost leaving court and post trial, like
he's so jolly, he's so happy. The things he would comment on from
a golf cart that went viral wheneverybody got to see as of late,
man, it was always he wasjust right to the point where I'm like,
(44:29):
dude, did he really do it? And then you're like, yeah,
he did it, Like you knowwhat I mean. But like if
you take it's almost like a secondlike almost like an alter ego or something
like, yeah, I think hethinks he may have not done it.
Yeah, he's almost convinced himself prettymuch. But I mean, dude,
there was his Like I mean, dude, they were divorced for two years.
Yeah when it happened him and Nicole, and there was history of domestics
(44:53):
and how like he you know, actual recorded statements of like you know,
how crazy he gets when he getsangry and he gets this look in his
eyes. So dude, there couldhave been a multiple personality thing where he
had idea. I love to see, like you got to remember like this,
we saw him wrestling God forbidden.I hate talking about but Chris Benoi,
like I love to crack. Iwant scientists. I hope his body
(45:15):
gets kind of looked at, donatehis brain. Yeah, it's curiosity,
right, So dude, that Iit's funny. I mean, we're not
going to hear it. Obviously, nothing weird is going to come out.
But no or nothing more shocking becausenothing shocks anybody anymore. No, Well,
dude, we've talked about this.We were like we had an earthquake
and it was like lunch conversation andthat was on the East coast. Yeah,
(45:37):
that never happens, Like did youguys feel that? Okay, Right,
let's go back back to back.Hey guys, you see that alien
outside? Yeah, I give himthumbs up. No, but it's like
you kind of think of like I'msure people are like, oh, man
crazy, if he left the notesaying that he did it, it's like
why, like you all think, here's how dumb the general public is.
I feel like if he left thenote saying that he did it like as
(45:59):
a last dying note, I feellike most of the general public would be
like, that's fake, he didn'tdo that, But they still believe that
he's a murderer, you know whatI mean, Almost like it's like just
arguing against the fact, Like justlike they, oh, he definitely did
he definitely did it. Oh heleft the note as like his dying wish.
Ah, that's fake. He probablydidn't do it, you know what
I mean? Just that type ofdo you also like if you if you
(46:21):
if you know you're about to meetyour demise and you're a public figure,
do you not share that? Ithink you're sharing it. I think O
J genuinely do like ten more podcasts. I think OJ genuinely think I'd get
it. He thinks he was lovethough he thinks he was adored, like
he just he has no idea howthe public really Mike's last minute on the
(46:44):
mic are brought to you by Paul'sfuneral. You know what it is,
man, You would sell the heckout of it too. If that was
that situation, you'd be like, all right, I'm selling this and my
family's making money to where they neverhave exactly, and he supported a murderer's
family, you know what I mean. Like that would be that would be
the open. That'd be great, but like cutcoat nine, Oh all right,
(47:07):
guys, have a good week. We'll be back next week. This
was Divide Live on Fox Sports. The Gambler
