Speaker 00 (00:00):
Hello, hello!
Welcome to The Dona Watson Show.
I'm your host, Dona Watson.
Do not quit.
If you have been in a toughplace lately and you've been
discouraged, I want to encourageyou today to not give up.
(00:22):
I was in my quiet time thisweek And the Lord kept bringing
this message up again and again.
He likes to reach out to us inways that He knows we will hear
Him.
He doesn't make it difficult tohear His voice.
If you're receiving this rightnow, it's because God has a
(00:44):
message for you that He wantsyou to stay strong.
To reinforce that, I want togive you five scriptures today
from the Bible that encourageyou to not give up.
The first one is Galatians 6 (01:00):
9,
which talks about the promise
of harvest.
It says, "Let us not becomeweary in doing good for at the
proper time, we will reap aharvest if we do not give up."
You see, perseverance has apromised reward.
(01:20):
And when you stay faithful, your efforts are not wasted.
Don't let the enemy wear youout with distractions and chaos.
Keep your eyes fixed on theprize that God has promised you,
and that is a life of abundanceand joy.
(01:40):
This is your call to bolsteryour courage and to stand firm.
Watch your self -talk.
Encourage yourself with goodwords and scripture and set your
mind on God and your heart onworship.
This is how we fight the goodfight.
This is how we hold our groundand this is how we w in.
(02:07):
The second scripture is Isaiah40: 31, which talks to us about
renewed strength.
It says, "But those who hope inthe Lord will renew their
strength.
They will soar on wings likeeagles.
They will run and not growweary.
They will walk and not befaint."
(02:29):
You don't have to do this lifeor your assignment in your own
strength.
How great is that?
You see, when you feeldepleted, God will provide you
with supernatural strength tocontinue.
That is his promise to you fromthis scripture.
So rest in him, rely on hisstrength, and take joy in life.
(02:54):
Psalm 16:11 says, "You makeknown to me the path of life.
You will fill me with joy inyour presence and with eternal
pleasures at your right hand."There is fullness of joy in
God's presence.
Nehemiah 8.10 says that the joyof the Lord is our strength.
(03:16):
So if there's fullness of joyin God's presence and his joy is
our strength, when we standwith him and we press into that
quiet secret place, we can grabthat full measure of joy and
strength and keep going.
Do not quit.
(03:42):
The third scripture isPhilippians 4:13, and it talks
to us about divine empowerment.
It says, "I can do all thingsthrough him who gives me
strength."What a comfort it is to know
that our abilities are notlimited to our own capacity.
(04:03):
Let me explain.
When we stand in the strengththat comes from staying close to
God, the strength that raisedJesus Christ from the dead makes
the impossible possible.
The Word says that you are thetemple of the Holy Spirit if you
have given your life to God.
(04:25):
His Spirit dwells in you.
That means that His strengthalso dwells in you.
And when you get to the end ofyour rope, that is simply a
reminder to turn the reins overto God.
Remember that in him you arestrong.
(04:45):
If you aren't feeling thattoday, I encourage you to remind
yourself the strength thatraised Jesus Christ from the
dead lives in you.
You are strong through thepower of God.
Jesus Christ sacrificed hislife for you so that you can
(05:05):
stand strong against any attackthat the enemy would throw at
you.
You do not have to succumb tothe enemy's attacks.
In the mighty name of JesusChrist.
Our fourth scripture is 1Corinthians 15: 58, which talks
to us about a steadfast purpose.
(05:26):
It says, "Therefore, my dearbrothers and sisters, stand
firm.
Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully tothe work of the Lord because
you know that your labor in theLord is not in vain."
This scripture tells us that wehave a choice.
(05:47):
We can choose to give up or wecan choose to not quit.
Today, I encourage you to pressinto your secret place with
God.
Seek him out, talk to him, andinvite him into every area of
(06:08):
your life.
Find that godly strengthinside, and then stay immovable
in your purpose.
Don't let the enemy lie to youand say that you are nothing,
that you are small, that you donot have an important role to
play in God's kingdom.
Your work for God's kingdomalways has eternal value,
(06:35):
whether that is to spend time inyour prayer closet praying for
others or to encourage yourneighbors.
You might be the only friendlyface that they see today.
You are important, and so isyour role in God's kingdom.
(06:55):
Our fifth verse is Hebrews12:1-2, and it talks about
running the race.
It says, "Therefore, since weare surrounded by such a great
cloud of witnesses, let us throwoff everything that hinders and
the sin that so easilyentangles and let us run with
perseverance the race marked outfor us, fixing our eyes on
(07:19):
Jesus."You are not alone in your
struggles.
Focus on Jesus, shed whatweighs you down, and keep
running that race that is sounique to you, your beautiful
life.
The enemy would love for all ofthose who believe in Christ
(07:43):
Jesus to be isolated, lonely, and alone.
But you are not alone.
Not only is the Holy Spiritdwelling within you, but
spiritually, you are standingshoulder to shoulder with all of
God's other warriors on thisspiritual battlefield.
The battles that we face arenot seen, and the enemy would
(08:09):
like to reduce your mindset toonly include what you can see.
But like when Elijah prayed thatGod would open the eyes of his
servants so that he could seethe angelic army that God had
surrounded them with, that armythat assured them the victory, I
(08:29):
pray today that God will openyour eyes and that you will see
his glory and that you willrecognize the Holy Spirit within
you and that you will sense, maybe even see the angels of God
that surround you, protectingyou and encouraging you daily.
(08:52):
You're not alone.
You're in really good company.
So in conclusion, I want to alsosay that God is doing something
new.
Isaiah 43 (09:05):
18 and 19 says, "Do
not remember the past events;
pay no attention to things ofold.
Look, I'm about to do somethingnew; even now it is coming.
Do you not see it?
Indeed, I will make a way inthe wilderness, rivers in the
(09:26):
desert."You see, my friend, the Lord is
calling us to release the past.
Release those times when youslipped and fell.
God stands ready to forgiveyou.
Release those times when peoplehurt you.
It's time to forgive them andmove on.
(09:50):
Release past sorrows, knowingthat God has a brighter future
in store for you.
Release any longing for the pastand look to the future to
hopeful opportunities that Godhas waiting for you.
(10:10):
The time is now, my friend.
God is calling his churchtogether.
He's calling his bride to lookup and to be all that she was
created to be.
And that is you.
God is calling you to be aspiritual warrior.
That doesn't mean that we areargumentative.
It's not that kind of awarrior.
(10:31):
It calls us to recognize thetruth of Ephesians
6:12--"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”Like it or not, my friend, we
(10:54):
are at war.
We are in the spiritual battleof our lives, in fact.
But the way that we fight backis with the truth of the
scriptures in the Bible.
We fight back by renewing ourmind into a better mindset that
doesn't say that we arefailures, but that says: "I can
(11:17):
do all things through God whostrengthens me." We fight back
by staying the course and notgiving up, by knowing that we
will reap a harvest if we do notgive up.
That is my message for youtoday.
(11:39):
Let me pray for you.
Dear Lord, I come before youright now and I pray that you
would move on the hearts ofevery person who is hearing
this, reading it, watching itright now in the name of Jesus.
I pray that you would bolstertheir courage.
I pray that you would help themto step into their role as a
(12:06):
spiritual warrior who achievesthe victory in God's kingdom and
lives the life of fullness andjoy that you have called us to,

Bless them, Lord, in the nameof Jesus.
I pray in Jesus' holy name.
