Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, everybody.
Welcome to the Dona Watson Show.
I'm your host, Dona Watson.
I'm just an average AmericanPatriot who loves God, her
family, her country.
I try really hard to listen toGod's voice.
Sometimes I write stuff.
Come with me, together let'sexplore this crazy experience we
(00:24):
call life.
Welcome to the show.
Hello, everybody.
Welcome to podcast number 26:
"God Sees You and He Understands (00:33):
undefined
You." Do you ever find yourselfstuck in a dark valley where it
seems you've lost your way?
Where it seems you can't see farenough ahead to know which way
to go?
(00:55):
I want to encourage you today torealize that you don't have to
go it alone.
I want to look today at two ofmy favorite passages of
scripture, the first chapter ofJohn and Psalm 139.
And I invite you to come alongwith me.
(01:19):
In John 1, I want toparticularly focus on verses 11
to 13.
It reads in the ChristianStandard Bible:"He came to his
own, and his own people did notreceive him.
But to all who did receive him,he gave them the right to be
(01:44):
children of God, to those whobelieve in his name, who were
born, not of natural descent, orof the will of the flesh, or of
the will of man, but of God."Notice here that the only
condition to being a child ofGod is to receive Jesus.
(02:06):
When we believe in him, who heis and what he came to do, we
become born again as children ofGod.
If you've been in church for awhile, I'm sure you've heard
that more than once, but I loveto flesh things out.
I love how Psalm 16 fleshes outwhat it means to be a child of
(02:32):
God.
Verses 5-6 reads:"Lord, you aremy portion and my cup of
blessing; you hold my future.
The boundary lines have fallenfor me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautifulinheritance." Do you notice here
(02:59):
how God holds our future?
He has planned for each one ofus a beautiful inheritance.
What an amazing thought.
Now let's jump over to Psalm139, and I want to read the
(03:20):
first 12 verses of that chapter.
"Lord, you have searched me andknown me.
You know when I sit down andwhen I stand up; you understand
my thoughts from far away.
You observe my travels and myrest; you are aware of all my
(03:43):
ways.
Before a word is on my tongue, you know all about it, Lord.
You have encircled me; you haveplaced your hand on me.
This wondrous knowledge isbeyond me.
It is lofty; I am unable toreach it.
Where can I go to escape yourSpirit?
(04:05):
Where can I flee from yourpresence?
If I go up to heaven, you arethere; if I make my bed in
Sheol, you are there.
If I fly on the wings of thedawn and settle down on the
western horizon, even there yourhand will lead me; your right
(04:26):
hand will hold on to me.
If I say,'Surely the darknesswill hide me, and the light
around me will be night'-- eventhe darkness is not dark to you.
The night shines like the day;darkness and light are alike to
(04:49):
you." Notice here that God seesyou wherever you are.
He understands your thoughts.
He knows what makes you tick.
He even knows what you're goingto say before you utter the
words.
(05:10):
The Psalmist points out that nomatter where God's children are,
God holds us.
He holds you in his hand.
In fact, the Psalmist(in thiscase, it's David), he even goes
so far as to say that God seesjust as clearly in our darkness,
(05:33):
as he sees in the light.
When we're lost in a darkvalley, how comforting it is to
know that God is never withoutsight.
He sees us in the dark.
And even when we can't see thepath ahead, God sees the way.
(05:53):
He knows our path.
And he knows the solutions tothe problems that are facing us
right now.
Yes, God sees you.
God understands you.
God's hand is on you and he willguide you.
Today.
(06:13):
He sees just as well in the darkas he does in the light.
Lean on him today.
That's all I have for you guystoday.
I hope you have a wonderful dayand remember Jesus loves you and
I do too.
Take care! Bye!
