Matt Dery (Return Visit)

Well get ready for a FIRE episode for today's Spiritual Spiral as I welcome my friend from high school, Matt Dery, back to the show. Matt is an enormous sports fan with a ton of experience behind the podcast mic as he is currently the host of THREE podcasts; the Locked on Lions Podcast, The Pistons Pod and the Dery Bothers Guardian Cast where he talks Guardians baseball with his brother. But the thing about Matt that I probably love the most is how he has a heart of gold. Matt may never be shy about sharing an opinion or a "hot take", but he also has a way of adding nuance, humor and heartfelt compassion to just about any topic. Sure, we talk sports and Lebron James and sports commentating, but we also discuss the value of solitude and being quiet. We talk about "going live", getting older, the shifting of values and why traveling is more important now than ever before. Of course we discuss a little social media and the impact of technology and we talk about allowing art to "breathe."
