(00:00):
This is the Drive In podcast. Take one.
(00:25):
Howdy Doody, welcome to episode 482 of TDI.
This is Doctor O on the Horn to start per usual and as always
I'm joined by my Co host, my best friend and new citizen of
the country of Brazil, Ricky Flex.
(00:46):
How are you my friend? TDI has gone Internacional.
This is Brazil. We're here.
We are here in Brazil, both Doc and I, and we are recording TDI
for the first time. Both of us are international,
both of us are out of the state, the United States.
That is TDI history right there. This is history and we
(01:10):
apologize. This one's coming out a little
bit later on Friday than usual. Our time schedule's a little bit
off. We're celebrating our brother's
birthday, or not birthday. My birthday's coming up, to be
honest, but that's why it's on my mind.
Our brother's wedding in Brazil. So shout out Big Mike.
Shout out his wife, soon to be wife or wife, Isa.
It's been quite the ride so far.Ricky, can you give me your
(01:32):
Brazil power rankings? Just things about Brazil.
Thanks. You've been here.
Been here for like what, 3 days now?
Three days. Food's got to be top of the
power rankings. A lot of steak, a lot of carne.
So food weather, it is like the end of winter here, but it's
like 80° and sunny, No clouds inthe sky everyday.
Love that. So food, weather and the people.
(01:55):
That's my top three power rankings.
That's pretty good. I'm going to go with weather #1
in the Power rankings #2 Meats and Cheese 3.
I'll go motorcycles. There's since so many
motorcycles here, it's insane. There's almost as many
motorcycles as there are cars when you walk down the streets
and they just whip around. I want to make you want to get a
(02:18):
motorcycle. I'm not a motorcycle guy.
I'll never actually buy one, butif I lived in Brazil, I think I
would have to get one, you know,to kind of manage the traffic
and everything. So motorcycles, 3-4 man
probably. Capperinas.
Capperinas #4 that is correct. Ricky Flex very good.
That is, I think. Are those popular in other
(02:39):
countries? Capperinas.
I feel like I never drink them in the States.
I think they're Brazilian so notreally popular unless you're at
a Brazilian restaurant outside of Brazil.
OK. In Brazil?
It's at the top of every drink menu.
You feel like you're forced to get it.
There's like a bunch of like fruits that are infused into
them. They go down like water.
So Capperinas make up the Mount Rushmore of things to do in
(03:01):
Brazil or things to enjoy in Brazil.
OK, Ricky, I I don't know where we should start.
Honestly. I think the big news for today
is actually the trailer roundup and we have to talk about Marty
Supreme. This upcoming movie with
starring Timothy Chalamet, directed by one of the Safdie
brothers, Josh Safdie. Benny has a movie coming out
(03:22):
with the Rock, another movie star 4824, another sports
biopic, the smashing Machine. But I think we should get to
this one. That kind of surprised me
honestly. So synopsis for this is the film
falls. Young man with a ping pong dream
that no one respects who goes tohell and back in pursuit of
greatness comes out on December 25th, 2025.
(03:46):
This is the date for Timothy Chalamet.
He owns Christmas Day. It's him and Jesus.
You know, Timothy Chalamet and Jesus and he might be the next
Messiah for movies. Ricky, This one is.
Yeah, and he's a doom Messiah. Doom Part 3.
No Doom Messiah, Doom Part 3. But I thought this trailer kind
of surprised me 'cause what I was hearing, it was gonna be a
(04:06):
little like wild. It's gonna be like a like a
international type of venture. That's also good.
Why we're doing this podcast in Brazil and we're talking about
this trailer. Seems like you're going all over
the place. I thought like the look of
Timothy Shalom was going to be alittle more silly, but I was
kind of shocked by the serious tone.
Like it was actually reminded mea little bit of the smashing
machine, like sports biopic, like serious tone.
(04:27):
And I didn't really register it.It was hard to comprehend
because he looks like Napoleon Dynamite and you have the
Napoleon Dynamite song going like forever Young in this
trailer. So I was just kind of like
surprised by the tone. Yeah, and like this master
scene, Benny Safdie and here youthought, oh, ping pong movie
like kind of wacky Marty supremename and ping pong player in
(04:49):
like kind of premise, right. And you're not thinking like
this is going to be a super serious movie.
But when you look at this trailer, this is a serious
movie. Like this is a full blown biopic
once again from Timothy Chalamet.
And this one again you're thinking, oh, sports biopic.
What's the like angle here and here for table tennis, it's kind
of just going international for Martin Supreme and being the
(05:12):
living up to the name on the newspaper, the chosen one, which
we've seen a million times in biopics.
So how is this going to be different?
It's going to be mainly because of the ping pong.
That's what I'm I think the angle is.
It's going to be because of the ping pong and the business
aspects of can ping pong like bea huge sport in the US and can
Martin Supreme be the chosen oneto kind of make it big in the
(05:33):
US? That's I think what the premises
and I think a big problem with this is that I don't know this
guy and table tennis is not big.So how are they going to make
this like a huge like they're they're really going to have to
sell it. You know, they're going to have
to sell it in this movie like this actually happened, which it
did, but like make it like, oh, this was like this is awesome
and feel that like ambition in the movie.
(05:55):
Feel like how big it is, even though I don't think it is big
in real life. No one takes ping pong
seriously. That that's what makes the movie
interesting to me. Like the movies we've gotten
with ping Pong, I think balls offury, like obviously over the
top comedy. I think of Forrest Gump, which
is it's kind of like a comedic element of the film that he's
nasty at ping pong, you know, but he's also nasty at football
(06:16):
and he just somehow looks into everything.
Just kind of a comedic plot point of the film.
This is like the first ping pongmovie.
I'm like, oh, we're supposed to be like rooting for this guy.
We want to see this guy beat thebest.
We got to see this guy, you know, beat, you know, the best
in other countries. We got to see this guy take
down, I guess the Chinese dude like you like that.
That's kind of like a huge pointof this movie.
(06:37):
Are you tackling communism in this movie?
Yeah, I don't. It might because it's like that
era, right? They give a year for this movie.
It it does look like it's that era.
Yeah, it's like maybe 70s, sixties, 70s or something like
that. The movie looks good.
It's got a stack cast. Kevin O'Leary, Mr. Wonderful,
like obviously playing like this, you know, Slick also
(07:01):
untrustworthy type of businessman for sure.
You know, seems perfectly cast. At least that's I I guess that's
an assumption of what he's goingto be doing.
You know, like they could be like kind of playing against
that because everyone expects that from Kevin O'Leary, but
he's not a very like, you know, well, I know well experienced
actor. So he's here.
You got Tyler, The Creator, who gets like 2 scenes I think in
(07:23):
this trailer, Gwyneth Paltrow, who we kind of ripped on for not
doing any movies. She's here and she also was not
seen as much in the trailer. And then there's unknown
actress, relatively unknown actress, the love interest.
Love interest. I forgot what her name was.
Do you have that on you or no? I don't, but yeah, I thought
(07:44):
Gwyneth Paltrow might be the love interest in this movie, but
I think she's more like a pen pal.
It's kind of weird. You know what this trailer
reminded me of a movie that's like about a journey, one man,
almost like a character study. It reminded me a little bit of
the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
I don't know why. I think I think it was partially
(08:04):
to due to look like Gwyneth Paltrow could be like the Cate
Blanchett of this story, multiple love interest, you
know, like gallivanting around the world.
And for some reason, I was like thinking of that movie and I
that was the last movie. How kind of I was expecting to
compare to Marty Supreme. Just like it.
This is the nerdiest looking dude, the funniest like concept,
but it's had me thinking of one of like David Fincher's most
(08:28):
dramatic movies. Weird.
Yeah, I actually kind of don't hate that.
Like now I think about it, I kind of think of the Gwyneth
Paltrow character more like Taylor Swift.
And yeah, yeah, yeah. So I, I don't, I don't hate that
analogy. But yeah, so like, I think this
is something where I thought maybe like this is just gonna be
a fun Christmas movie and just cause Timothy Chalmay is in it.
(08:50):
Like it would have Oscar buzz. But like, I think the movie
itself might have Oscar like like, like, for sure, right.
Like it's crazy. I thought like, oh, like Timothy
Chalmay will sneak in a best actor race here, maybe get a
nom. Now he like it looks like he
will get a nom. Like this looks like a this is a
Oscar movies for sure. And the actual movie itself, it
looks like it's going to be a play.
(09:11):
It looks like we should take this movie seriously.
That's what that was my huge take away from the trailer like
this is not just Timothy Chalamet.
The guy's going to get nominatedagain his time of year
Christmas. We talked about it like movies
Messiah he is meaning Benny JoshSafdie like this is like him
going for it. I like I think what do you think
(09:32):
better Oscar chances? Benny or Josh Safdie just
passing machine with the Rock oryou talk to talk to Marty
Supreme. Which one is more likely to have
like more Oscar buzz or nominations?
It's just the Timmy show. Timmy has to he that's you got
to pick Marty Supreme because ofthe Timmy factor.
I know the rock and what not butlike that's more like a we don't
(09:53):
know from him. And how, how wild would it be if
Shalaman and The Rock are nominated for Best Actor?
That would be nuts. It will be.
It will be telling that like theSafdies split, do their own
movies separately for the first time and neither of them get
nominated for anything except their actors.
Their lead actors get nominated for something or for best actor.
(10:15):
That would be telling. That would bring the Oscars back
if you had the Rock and Timothy Chalamet nominee in the same
year. And then you have the Safdie
brothers dynamic going on the split and they both make their
own sports biopic. This just got so much interest.
There's so much more interesting.
Like, I don't think that will happen.
You know, I don't think The Rockwill get nominated.
I think he'll earn a lot of, youknow, respect for, like, what
(10:37):
he's doing. Dramatic.
From last year for the Iron ClawI.
Think it'll be similar to that and like Chalamet, if he does it
and he gets nominated for a pingpong player, it's just like this
guy can do any movie and it comes out Christmas.
You're going to be circling likean Oscar nomination unless he's
doing walk or two or something like that, but like he is.
Potential, yes. It's, it's, but it's and that's,
(10:59):
I think that's been, that's good.
It's coming, right. Wonka 2's got to be.
It's got to be on the horizon. Yeah, there's potential there.
But that would bring back the Oscars Chalamet versus the Rock
at the Oscars. But Josh Benny Safdie I this is
where I thought they're making such like serious sports
biopics, you know, make. I could be reading this movie
(11:19):
wrong. You know, I feel like they might
give you it might have a different feel maybe in the
theater. But I was just these guys are
making sports biopics and they're coming out fall into,
you know, Christmas time into winter.
I'm surprised that like their first movies are so similar when
they split apart. That's shocking to me.
Yeah, that's that's why the story is so interesting.
(11:40):
Like why wouldn't they just makemake them together?
And they're both movies like about sports that are not made
like not a major or like major sports exactly.
So it's interesting. It would put the cast like huge
cast, big leads and they're bothOscar plays.
They're both trying to show likethey're they're worthy on their
own, you know, And I think goingback to like, what's going to be
(12:04):
better or like more of the Oscars play or do better fare
better at the Oscars. Better way to say it.
This would be also a test of like, let's say both movies are
good, but the smash movie scene comes out in October.
This is a true test of like, oh,is it better to release your
movie earlier, like in not just like early like spring summer,
but like fall versus Christmas because it used to be Christmas,
(12:26):
then just roll into the Oscars in March.
But now it's like you feel the build up momentum building
throughout the year. And if you've released a movie
on Christmas, it's too late. So if Marty Supreme is maybe not
so much a better movie than the Smash Machine and the Smash
Machine can gain momentum, like I could see Smash Machine like
actually faring better at the Oscars, even though I don't
(12:47):
think that's going to happen. That's just my case.
'Cause this one's just more ambitious, I think, you know,
it's a lesser known sport. You got the eccentric looking
star and you like, like we said, like international type of movie
seems like it's going to be a little bit of an epic feel to
it, you know, and the smash machine machine feels a little
more generic, you know. So if you're talking about like
(13:09):
historical, like sports biopics, like smash machines kind of
doing the blueprint, this one's kind of like I was expecting
like this. I guess this does feel a little
more like not as original as I thought it was going to, you
know, But at the same time, it'slike you're going all into a
ping pong movie, you know? But when you have Chalamet in
the lead, it's just like, this movie is just obviously going to
(13:30):
get buzz and you you're like, OK, he'll get nominated.
But now this trailer is kind of like just put me in a 180, put
me in a like a spin cycle a little bit, you know?
Yeah, my last thing would be Smash Machine.
That's a sad story, sad and thisMartin Supreme uplifting dream
big bearing better at the Oscars.
Definitely more the latter. So that's why I think Martin
(13:53):
Supreme also will fare a lot better.
Like again, look at Iron Claw. Like I think Zac Efron could
have been nominated for an Oscarfor that and like he obviously
wasn't and that movie didn't getnominated for anything, even
though it's one of the best movies of the year, because
freaking sad topic, you know, very sad topic.
And the Oscars. They like uplifting stories with
a coda green book like they justdo.
(14:15):
So I I, I feel like Martin Supreme will be a good Oscars
play here. Smash and machine.
Unfortunately, I think we'll getnone.
One of my favorite clips from this past year is when the Smash
Machine trailer came out and youwere like, I don't know about an
Oscar nomination for The Rock, but how about a Golden Globe,
You know, And we're like, hell yeah, yeah.
And that that's I think the heights of Smash and Machine,
(14:38):
but I think this one I guess hasa lot more potential following
this trailer. The lead actress, by the way, is
Odessa Azion. Azion and relatively unknown.
I've never heard of her before. She has been in Hellraiser.
She's a show called the Grand Army, the show called Fam and
then she was in Ghosts. That was that's what she's known
(14:59):
for in IMDb. So relatively unknown.
Going across from Chalamet couldbe a breakout like type of
performance for her. What else?
Trailer roundup? Oh, you wanna do thermometer
predictor? Yeah, sure.
OK, I'm gonna put this at 87, where we predict Rotten Tomatoes
scores for upcoming movies. I'm doing 87% for Marty Supreme.
(15:24):
And I'm like, kind of like on the fence.
I'm gonna go 8585. OK, 85 for Mickey Flex.
We'll see when it comes out. I'm excited for that.
That's got to, we have to do ourmost anticipated for the back
half of 2025. This will be on there.
This might be #1 for the rest ofthe year 'cause now we've gone
through the blockbuster cycle, we're looking towards award
(15:45):
season. It's probably if we were doing
like top fives like Smash Machine and Marty Supreme are
making the top five just 'cause you have the storyline of the
brothers, because of the lead actors and because of like the
unorthodox, you know, Marty Supreme type, like sports
biopic. So I'm putting that like, maybe
#1 is it one for you? One battle after another, I'm
(16:08):
still a Leo head, I'm still APTAhead.
Like that's going to probably take take it for me for the back
half. But then other than that, yeah,
like I, I, I think Marty Supremewould be battling for two.
Avatar 3 moving on, moving on. I want to talk about one more
trailer. There's a few trailers that came
out, but I think there was 2 we're talking about and the
(16:29):
second one is for a documentary and it's coming to Netflix
September 10th. The Charlie Sheen documentary, I
think it what's it called again?AKH, Charlie Sheen.
I believe so. And I, I didn't give a title
when I looked up. Let me just look it up really
quick. Yeah, Charlie Sheen documentary,
(16:51):
Netflix, it is called. OK, AKA Charlie.
Yeah. So AKA this is some 2 parter.
I'm jacked for those like this looks amazing.
And obviously you have Charlie Sheen talking, which is always
going to be must listen. I, I love that we have like the
different people in Charlie Sheen's life.
(17:11):
And it's you know how like people are in the documentary or
they're producing the documentary.
They want them to put themselvesin a positive light.
Best thing about Charlie Sheen is that he doesn't give a you
know, like he'll say all the terrible things he's done.
He'll say the most obscene things.
He just is unfiltered. And I think that's the best part
about like Charlie Sheen, but also like his fatal flaw, his
Achilles heel. But I love how we have like Jon
(17:33):
Cryer on this to talk about whatwas happening on 2 1/2 Men.
He was the highest paid TV star at the time.
He gets replaced by Ashton Kutcher.
There's like reports of him likemissing from set, you know, on
scene antic or on set antics andhow much of A diva he was.
And that run of, you know, hashtag winning that he had.
(17:55):
That's one of the best. Imagine that happened in 2025.
Like Charlie Sheen would have freaking slayed it even more in
2025. Then he was kind of, you know,
handling it, you know, or in theearly twenty 10s or late 2000s,
whenever this was happening 'cause it feels like forever
ago. I feel like we're a little bit
late with this documentary if anything.
But I think he would have absolutely murdered it, you
(18:17):
know, when Trump was like in 2025, It seems like, you know,
comedy's back. It seems like people are less
afraid to speak their mind. You know, cancel culture is
like, it's kind of fading away. I feel like he got cancelled and
it's time that we hear his side of the story.
I'm, I'm jacked for this. What about you?
Yeah, I feel like this is like we always say, oh, like it's too
soon to do something. He might have.
(18:38):
This might be too late. I mean there how much like he
was absolutely the top of the tabloids back in the day.
But like also not just like backin the day, like Hot Shots and
like whatnot and like Wall Street, but like, I'm talking
like 10 years ago, like he dominated the Internet.
Like insane, like when you said winning or like Tiger blood,
like crazy stuff. Like this guy in 2025 would be
(19:01):
all like winning the Internet. It's insane.
So I feel like we always talk about things come out too soon.
This feels like maybe this came out a few years back.
Like I feel like it would be like, oh, we still remember
Charlie Sheen as. It would have been a different
tone. Like I feel like they would
have. It would have been like, like
look out. It would have been sad and
depressing. This is like funny.
(19:22):
And this is like almost like we're celebrating this guy a
little bit. If if it came out a few years
ago, I feel like you just wouldn't have the tone that this
trailer did. Yeah.
Is Emilio going to be in this Estevez?
I, I saw, I think Emilio Estevezis in this.
I saw Jon Cryer. There was a whole list of
people, I think Denise Richards was that was that someone I saw
(19:45):
here? Like I thought it was like
former wives and things like that.
Some people absolutely despise him.
That's what was the draw the trailer.
It's not just like, oh, look at the moment and snapshot in time.
It's like this guy's life, how crazy it was back in the 80s.
Like you were talking about whenhe's hitting like Platoon and
Wall Street Hotshots. Thoughts Major League, you know,
like when they were going at it,like when he was just
(20:06):
absolutely, you know, he was oneof the next chosen ones.
You know, I want to hear like those stories too 'cause like I
think it goes way back obviouslyfrom just what we kind of know
him as is 2 1/2 men and winning.I feel like that's our age
group, you know, and how much ofA wild card he actually was.
Guess how old he is, 60. 1. Wow, that's a good guess.
(20:27):
He's 59. OK, he looks old.
I think it's HIV. Jesus.
But no dude like Dennis Richardsis going to be in this Brooke
Mueller. Also, his ex-wife is going to be
in this Sean Penn. Yeah, they're they were like
best friends growing up and likeSean Penn was also.
He is a wild card too. Insane like this?
(20:49):
You're right like this, you wantto hear like the candid
commentary from himself, hopefully in a better place kind
of saying like what what was going on like during that famous
60 minute interview or like whatwas going on like in the 80s.
Like I want to hear like some ofthose stories, but I kind of
want to hear from other people and say, like, what happened to
this guy from your perspective? I want to see him in like, I
(21:11):
want this to like hit and peoplelike, wow, like, look at Charlie
Sheen's side of things. And then I want him to get cast
in something. I want to see Charlie Sheen come
back. What if they did?
You could you could see like a like a 3 1/2 men, you know, type
of spin off come and he come, hecomes back as Charlie.
That would be unreal. That would that's one of the
(21:32):
most iconic TV characters of alltime.
And like you don't even you don't need Jon Cryer.
Just like make it 1 1/2 men. Make it half of Men.
Whatever it is, get Charlie Sheen back in that role because
it's so easy. You can roll out of bed and do
that. How many people would fucking
watch that? Like if Charlie Sheen, Harley
Harper, like, come back, Like come on.
At least the premiere like that. That premiere will get ratings
(21:54):
like galore. I would I would pay a
pay-per-view to see it. Just get him back on the piano.
Get a couple of like chicas in there, you know, have him read a
tune or two, get him back. But Jon Cryer, that that is the
most fascinating element to me, aside from hearing from Charlie
Sheen himself to hear what was happening on set, because he was
the highest paid TV actor at thetime.
(22:16):
And they know TV is like almost surpassing movies in terms of
popularity right now. It might have it probably has
surpassed like movies. And like at that time, cable was
still big. He was, he was the king of cable
television. Yes.
And how big was it when Ashton Kutcher replaced him?
And like Ashton Kutcher, who's in a better standing right now,
Charlie Sheen or Ashton Kutcher?Like Charlie, like Ashton,
(22:39):
Kutcher's had a bad bad last couple years.
I I would, I would shockingly say Charlie Sheen.
It's crazy. It's crazy.
Yeah, I, I totally agree. I I think Charlie Sheen, like
if, if you think about like whatthey have to do in the stock,
it's a few things. One, you got to have a good back
story, like good highlight reel of like him in his prime.
(23:01):
You know, say like how big of a star this guy was and talk about
like his background, Emilio, hisdad, you got you got to go
through it all. You have to set it up to be like
this guy was like one of the hottest like guys in Hollywood,
like in his prime. And then you have to go like
through like 2 1/2 men and like all the behind the like it build
up cable TV, right. So like cable was this big and
(23:21):
this guy was the highest paid like cable actor at the time.
So like you have to go through that phase and then you
obviously have to go through thecraziness of like what happened
on set and then the downfall andget everyone's perspective and
get some crazy stories of like he wasn't on set because of this
reason. The 60 minute interview, you got
to like break down some of thesetantrums that he or like.
(23:43):
One of the most insane media runs of all time.
And if imagine if Twitter was more popular back then, you
know, or if he was on Twitter more.
I don't remember him on social media.
I remember seeing clips of him and seeing interviews with him
and in in almost like mythical type of stories about him that
were just come on, you know, late night shows.
And I would read like People magazine.
(24:05):
I was like interested in readingPeople magazine for Charlie
Sheen's stories, like back in the day.
He was must watch. And it's kind of weird because
he went to TV before it was cool.
Like all these movie stars like go to TV for limited series,
tell longer form stories, thingslike that.
It's almost nice, like shameful, you know, I feel like if you're
(24:26):
a movie star, this guy was like in Wall Street with Michael
Douglas, Platoon, you know, Hot Shots, all the stuff we talked
about Major League. And then he went to TV and that
was like a looked at as a downgrade at the time.
But he was the king of cable television.
He was not. And it was the easiest job for
him. He just puts himself basically
in that show. You know, you, you, you're
right. You do have to build up like
(24:46):
this guy was the shit and then he moved to TV when no one
thought like a movie star shoulddo that.
And then he was the king of that.
And then, you know, he was just a lightning rod.
But that was a good point. You got to you got to make.
You had to get that baseline. Yes, and last thing, guess how
much he was paid per episode of 2 1/2 Men?
Dude, it was like millions, likeI would say a couple million,
(25:06):
two mil. During the later seasons of 2
1/2 Men, 1.8 million an episode.22 minute episodes killed it.
And there's like, yeah, so 2,000,000 per episode basically.
And like there's like a bunch ofepisodes a season.
Like it's a cable television show that runs 30 minutes like
with with ads. Like that's insane.
(25:26):
Like this guy was cleared 20 million probably a year minimum
for just being himself for 1/2 hour a week.
Absolutely killing it. He's loaded.
He's loaded. And then like I think he has HIV
now. Like I like I got to hear like
what he's been doing the last few years, you know, has he been
taking it easy? Is he still hashtag winning?
(25:47):
We'll find out. But the.
End of the dock, like the the the final line, he's like, he's
going to be like, I'm still winning.
That would that might be the greatest Internet moment of all
time. The the that was the best, the
winning. We should bring that back.
We need to bring that back. I want to do that as I call a
sign up at the end of the podcast.
(26:07):
You know, just winning, you know, just winning.
That's all we got to do. All right, done with the trailer
roundup. I do want to talk about a couple
stories here. There's a lot of quick hitters
on today's checkup, but like, let's go to Kate's Corner and
we'll talk about James Gunn for a little bit.
And James Gunn has announced building up to Peacemaker Season
2, which comes out in a week or two.
I want to say 2 weeks. James Gunn announced that he's
(26:30):
finished writing the next Superman film, the next Superman
project. He announced like the Superman's
going to be like the Superman saga between him and Supergirl.
He's written the next treatment. He's written a treatment for the
next film in the series already done.
That's nuts to me. And then also he said that he
made a couple comments about since we brought back
Peacemaker, that's from the DCEU, he's thinking about
(26:53):
bringing back Idris Elba as Bloodsport.
And then he also was asked if Margot Roby will return as
Harley Quinn. He said, quote, that will be
revealed down the line. End Quote.
Ricky, what's your before we getto like how interested you are
in seeing these characters return or these actors return to
DC. What do you think about James
Gunn bringing in people from theDC EU, and specifically from his
(27:16):
movies in the DC EU over to whathe's doing with the DCU?
So you know, I'm a guy where I think we should sever all ties
with the DCU, but he DC was going through such a weird time
where like they were hiring James Gunn, even though then
like they knew like Zack Snyder was out.
They did the Snyder Cut, Peacemaker season 1 came out,
the Suicide Squad came out and this is all there in COVID.
(27:39):
So it's like it was like so in flux where like you get a pass
and you could do this, you stillcan do I like it.
I don't know. I feel like it's off.
I feel like we we are like doingloopholes, loophole and
loopholes. There's asterisks.
I don't know that I I feel weirdabout it, but at the same time
I'm like, you know what Peacemaker season 2.
(28:00):
That's not gonna hurt anybody bythe way that comes out August
21st. That's not gonna hurt anybody
like peacemaker whatever blood sport that's not gonna hurt
anybody either. These are lower tier characters
that you could you could make something that's actually good
like just that streams on HBO Max Screw it, I'm gonna watch it
right. So I think it's like very I
think it's fine. It's like we get to like, I know
(28:22):
we're not doing this, but I'm just saying like if, if like
they did this, I would have a problem with it.
It's like if we brought Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman back, if we
brought Dwayne the Rock Johnson's Black Adam back, and
then like I would be like, all right, what are we doing?
Then I would have serious problems.
But I think these are like very low level characters where,
yeah, you know what? It's odd, but I'm OK with it.
(28:44):
Does that feel a little bit likeabuse of power by James Gunn?
Like he's talking about bringingin all these film makers,
introducing all these characters, and if he wasn't the
head of DC, we would never see these characters again.
But because he's the head of DC,he gets to bring back people
from another universe and bring them here.
And I don't know how much peopleare clamoring to see Bloodsport
(29:06):
again in the DCU. I'd rather maybe Idris Elba
plays a new character and that'swhat I would like.
Maybe it's James Gunn written, maybe it's not.
Maybe he just loves working withhim.
I think that might be a better move.
But I like, it's just something weird to me when you're bringing
over a universe that is extinct, you know, and you're trying to
start to turn a new page. And you had such a great start
(29:27):
with Superman, and now you're looking backwards still.
Like it's hard to actually gaugethe popularity of those
characters because that movie came out during the pandemic.
Movie theaters were like half shut down.
Like no one was going to the theater.
So you don't really know how truly popular Bloodsport is.
I don't think people are like, you know, knocking down the door
(29:47):
to see the character. But Harley Quinn is a different
story. That's like a iconic performance
in character, and I think it's interesting 'cause she's so
tightly associated with the Joker.
You know, you don't have a Jokeryet.
I don't necessarily intertwine her with Jared Leto because
she's appeared as Harley Quinn, Margot Robbie about 3 * 3 or 4
(30:08):
Times Now. She did Suicide Squad, she did
the Suicide Squad just once. And Birds of Prey.
That's three. I forgot her own movie.
No one wants to remember that movie.
People were dude when people were trying to tell everyone
that that movie was good. You know, like this is a girl
power movie. That movie sucked.
Sucked. That's what's what would you
(30:30):
rather watch Suicide Squad or that movie?
I'm taking Suicide Squad, but that's a hot take.
Like that's a squirting hot takeon the Internet.
That's insane. So we we should put that as a
pole. What would you rather watch,
Suicide Squad or Birds of Prey? I like the Suicide Squad.
Like, I I it's awful movie. Like it's bad, bad movie.
(30:51):
And I'm, I'm not one of those guys claiming for the air cut,
but it's a good cable watch every once in a while.
Like, it's good to watch a couple scenes.
Watch Harley Quinn just like, goat it, you know, get dead shot
in there with Will Smith. You know, not a bad cast, just a
fucking bad movie. Just every time Jared Leto's on
the screen, it just makes you want to throw up.
That's the bad part. But yeah, so that's where it's
like you bring in Harley Quinn, who's gonna be the Joker.
(31:14):
That's an immediate thought withthe character.
So it's kind of like a lot more of a big deal compared to Blood
Sport. Right, yes, like Harley Quinn's
such a bigger deal because of the Joker factor, arguably your
biggest commodity right now withBatman for DC, you have to get
that right and bringing back Uncle Robbie's Harley Quinn does
throw a wrench in those plants, right?
(31:34):
It does kind of say wait, we hadthe Jared Lo Joker, but like
we're doing a different joke. Like it just throws confusion,
which again, when you bring backcharacters, it will create
confusion, right? So I don't know.
I, I, I, I'm, I guess you're tone that line.
If you were saying like James Gunn, like you're only able to
do this because you're the guy. But like, if this was anybody
else, would this happen? I don't think so.
(31:55):
No, no, I don't think it would. I can't believe the next
Superman movie is already written.
That's nuts. And this where it throws a
wrench in the plans because you have the gods and monsters Phase
one for DC that James gonna announce all these different
projects. But yeah, but what if people
want a sequel to Superman? Where does that fit in?
What? Everyone, everything takes a
back seat to like the sequel to Superman or seeing him again.
(32:18):
And I, you want to build the universe.
And James Gunn's writing a lot of these projects now.
And you want to like, you're bragging about all these film
makers you're bringing. And you're talking about how you
know, Mike Flanagan is Bright and Clayface.
You're talking, you know, James Mangold wants to do Swamp Thing,
Zach Cragger wants to do ADC movie.
And then all of a sudden you're asked to make a Superman sequel.
(32:39):
And now all of a sudden you're going Peacemaker Superman.
And then probably 2 years from now you're getting Superman 2 or
some type of like Superman sequel.
It's a lot of James Gunn on there.
He's got, I think he's at some point he's got to pull back the
reins a little bit now. I think so.
I just think we just need to cast the Batman.
We need to cast like a bunch of these big characters, like a
bunch of the Justice League thataren't Superman.
(33:01):
And we just don't have that yet.And I feel like he's
prioritizing Superman, which youshould, but now that you have
it, like it's just kind of odd that we're not.
We don't have the Batman announced yet and we've
announced that project two yearsago.
That seems a little weird, right?
And we're already working on a sequel to Superman, where your
hottest commodity, you don't have a.
Cast yet? It's like Iron Man.
When Iron Man came out, it was O8.
(33:22):
Then they had what, the same year was Incredible Hulk, and
then they made Iron Man 2 beforethey got to Thor or Captain
America. You know, I feel like we're
going through the same type of thing right now.
We're gonna have we're. Doing the same thing, yeah.
I brought up Zach Rager how he wants to make ADC movie goes in
our conversation on that from our weapons episode came out
last week. Just go on our feed.
But Speaking of him, Warner Brothers are having talks about
(33:48):
making a weapons prequel with Aunt Gladys, the Amy Madigan
character, a performance that was bonkers batshit.
And I, I kind of saw this comingthat this could happen.
But this is where I'm starting to figure out who Zach Kreger
is. If he actually does want to make
this movie 'cause, you know, like Ryan Coogler has made a
(34:08):
bunch of franchise movies and hemade sinners and then he's
everyone wants him to make like a, a, a spin off of it or sequel
to it. He's like, I don't want to let
it be Zach Kreger should do this, but he is the guy making a
Resident Evil movie. You know, at the same time he
wants to make ADC movie. He might be more commercial than
I thought if he does make this like prequel on Gladys.
But like the Resident Evil movie, like it, he did describe
(34:30):
it as like this is like just called Resident Evil and it's
going to have like the whole premise around like the video
game. It's not going to be like direct
to the video game. You know, just like, oh, this is
the Resident Evil universe. But like this is an original
movie, you know, like it's basically what he was saying.
So like, I do think he still hasthat little, like, you know,
that creative originality to him, even even though it seems
(34:54):
like, oh, he's looking commercial.
I do. I do, I, I honestly, I, I said
it at a bad tone, but I like that because like, you know,
he's not pretentious. He's like he, he wants to like
make movies that people want to see and go to the theaters for.
He's not, you know, I, I don't know if eventually he'll be like
an Oscar guy or anything like that, but he wants people in the
theaters to see his movies. So yeah, I guess people would be
(35:17):
in on on Gladys thing, but it was just her like kind of
exploding into the the last halfof that movie that was just
like, holy shit, I don't know ifI want to see more of that
character. I think it was really good that
she kind of like is a sprinter, not a marathon runner.
It's just like someone you someone goes in and it was the
shock factor of Amy Madigan and like how fucking batshit she was
(35:39):
in that movie. I don't know if I want to see
that for an entire, you know, runtime.
You know, I think it was perfectfor that movie.
She's a lightning rod. You know, it's a great like off
the bench, throw up 20 points. You know, like insane.
She was like a was it Jamal Crawford that was her?
Yeah, Yeah, honestly, yeah. Great.
Six men. So doing a prequel, it makes
(35:59):
sense like as in for one of those to try to do something
with this property. Hugely successful with the box
office way like did way better than tracking predictions for
the domestic box office. And Zach Kreger, again, I, I, I
trust him, even though this doesseem commercial, I do trust him
to kind of make something that we would like to see that's also
creative and not just a commercial, like, hey, we're
only doing this for money. And also, again, he could be
(36:22):
doing this like 1 for them, one for me.
You know, you talk about, you hear that a lot in Hollywood.
This could be 1 for them. And then he'll get like his
sci-fi movie that he says is thebest favorite script he's ever
written. You might be able to do that.
Or his hench men movie for DC where maybe like, James Gunn
doesn't want to do that, but maybe Warner Brothers pushes
James Gunn say, hey, let him do this because he's going to do
this prequel. I don't know.
(36:44):
This could be a classic one for that one for me too.
Yeah, I let him make the DC movie.
You got to let him make the DC movie.
And if he's he's, he's hot. He's hot in the streets right
now. He's coming off this movie.
Let him make that movie. I don't want to see his next
movie be a prequel. Like he's got so many
interesting stuff, whether it's DC, see a Resident Evil coming
out and then he's talked about asci-fi movie that's in the works
(37:07):
right now that he's written. There's like a lot of projects.
I don't want to see on Claudius again for a while.
I don't even want to see her at all, you know?
Honestly, I just want to see himmake other shit.
Speaking of franchise movies, Ricky, there's someone that
might have auditioned for Bond. I think that this caught some
traction. Scott Rose Marsh may have
auditioned. This is like a stupid story
(37:28):
honestly a nobody actor. Like as I looked at his IMDb
like the average rating 1st movies are like less than 5 like
5.0. I think it's really not good.
He was brought in to screen testfor a film and had to read sides
from Goldeneye and was given oneinstruction.
He said quote don't impersonate a previous bond and quote.
I don't think this was an actualaudition.
(37:49):
Now that I'm reading this out loud, and maybe it'd be
something like Bond, but like this guy is such a nobody.
It makes me and he's a, he's a ginger like he's a redhead, like
he's like, this guy's not going to be Bond.
You know, I just to me, I think this is a nothing, nothing
story, but it has it caught sometraction on X.
Yeah, I don't believe this. I don't this we had to bring it
(38:13):
up because I saw way too many, too much about it.
So this definitely had to be bring up on the check up.
But yeah, I don't know a single thing this guy's done.
This isn't like you're nobody. Like, oh, they casted Daniel
Craig and he was nobody. No, he was in Defiance.
He was in Later Cake. He was in a lot of big, like big
theatrical releases. This guy has not like they are
not casting this guy. This is a nothing story.
(38:35):
Yeah, this is nothing. Moving on, are you World War Z
guy? I like the movie.
I wish David Fincher did his. That's what I think.
Interesting, so a new film in the World War Z universe is seen
as a priority for Paramount filmexecs.
Is it? When did this movie come out
2010? 13. 13 so we're talking 12 years
(38:57):
ago. Brad Pitt is like, I can see
Brad Pitt actually doing this 'cause he has been cashing in
left and right. It would what happens at the
end? Does he does he survive that
movie? Yeah, he does.
OK. I don't.
I don't think I've ever seen World War Z.
It's solid. It's it's, it's just the hype
level was so big because the book was so big.
(39:19):
Brad Pitt, you had the Fincher connection that you thought was
going to happen. Did not.
There's a lot of hype behind this movie and I just, I think
it did pretty well at the box office just because it's a
zombie movie and Brad Pitt in 2013.
So movies are still like outsideof superheroes, like big at the
time, but still I, I, how is, isif this is really a priority,
(39:39):
then you know what? Get Brad Pitt signed on and
David Fincher, also a guy he's only connected to Netflix, so
he's not gonna be able to do it.But that would be a crazy like,
again, Paramount has new owners. You see what they're doing with
Sky South Park, You see what they're doing with the UFC,
right, $7.5 billion deal. Like they're making moves right
now with new ownership and DavidEllison.
So that would be a statement to like get this universe up and
(40:02):
running and somehow like poach David Fincher off of Netflix and
get him back in the theaters. That would be my dream.
That is a big dream though. That would be crazy if David
Fincher did this movie. I this was before like I was
falling movie news very intensely.
I didn't know the entire back story with David Fincher in
World War ZI didn't know that who actually directed World War
Z? Mark Foster.
(40:25):
Mark Foster? Where do I know that name from?
What else has he done? OK, it's it's.
So the scene, right, Yeah, I I was thinking.
Beyond finding Neverland. I'm looking at his name, I'm
looking at what's new. For his guy, stranger than
fiction. He did monsters ball this guy.
Yeah, so he he was big in the early 2000s finding Neverland
(40:46):
monsters ball stay like that's athat's that's a big early 2000s
run. Yeah, yeah.
And then obviously writers strike and then quantum solves
disaster. Bad movie.
Yeah. So that was our connection.
That could have been a nice transition from, you know, Bond
(41:07):
casting to World War Z, But moving on with the check up
quick hitters. I don't know if you have much to
say about any of these things, but Angelina, Angelina and Jolie
will reunite with Mr. and MissusSmith director Doug Lyman to
start a new spy thriller titled The Initiative.
The film's going to follow a rogue master spy who gets a new
recruit on her team who is worried she is trying to kill
(41:29):
him. So Angelina and Jolie doing
action movies again, That's kindof sick.
And I don't think anyone cared what she was doing the last few
years. She was in Eternals.
Remember that. She was in, she's in the Marvel
Universe. Elena Jolie's in the Marvel
Universe and no one gives. People forget.
That's crazy. But other stories here.
Speaking of Doug Lyman, did he do?
Did he do Bourne, the first Jason Bourne?
(41:49):
Doug Lyman did. He do the.
Fairy was that Paul Green grass?I feel like Doug Lyman did
something. This is.
A big story, Bourne as in you could finish it, but like Bourne
back. Universal acquired the rights
for the James Bourne franchise in perpetuity.
So forever you get Jason Bourne movie.
(42:11):
See. Is that going to be rebooted?
Is someone else going to be playing Jason Bourne?
I think we might see that. And Doug Lyman did do Bourne
Identity, so he did do the firstone.
We we could be seeing a rebootedBourne and they know, I know we
tried that returning runner and then they ended up bringing back
Matt Damon. I think we might actually see a
(42:32):
reboot. Like, not a spin off, not a
different like character inside Bourne.
Like, straight up, we're doing Jason Bourne again.
This is usually how it starts where like the rights have to be
settled for like a, a certain amount of years and just like
make sure everything is like with the studio, like
everything's on board and beforeyou got, you start like casting,
get like film makers involved and what not.
(42:54):
I, I feel like this is the startof all right, like maybe in five
years we're going to get a, a newborn.
I think so. I could see it being a show.
Ah. Crap, you're right, I could see
that too. Not a cable show, not like
Limitless, you know, Yeah, like that shit, you know, whatever
Lethal Weapon became a show. Like, I don't think it's gonna
(43:15):
be like a cable show, but I can see like them just changing the
format and then also just go deeper into the character.
Movies were a a hit. Obviously, like the franchise
for Matt Damon. You want to like, start fresh,
make it a show. I think that's what you should
do, honestly. Other things here.
(43:35):
So Universal acquired Jason Bourne.
Let's talk about Paramount. Paramount.
It's in talks with the Stranger Things guys, the Duffer Brothers
on overall DL to develop streaming shows and theatrical
movies for studio. This comes from Deadline.
Ricky, do you think these guys can do stuff aside from Stranger
Things? Like it seems like this was
(43:56):
their baby. You know, I almost like think of
the Duffer Brothers the same wayI think of like, who's the guy
who made Nick Pisolato, who like, wrote.
Yeah, True Detective. True Detective season 1 and he
like spent his life doing that. Like it all built to that moment
like the stars aligned. I wonder if stranger things is
for like that's that's that for the Duffer brothers.
Like I wonder if they could actually do something else.
(44:18):
You know, I don't know. I I, I, I feel like this is a
big deal for them because like, they, what have they done aside
from Duffer? Excuse me, Stranger Things.
Oh, I don't know. But my thing with this is that
First off, this goes back to my appointment, Paramount and new
ownership Skydance David Ellisonspending money getting Duffer
Brothers. How could Netflix not lock these
(44:40):
dudes down? That's that's giving me my
second thing. This is like, maybe they aren't
like maybe this is a worry for me where like maybe these guys
are like a Nick Pazzolato, whereit's like, if Netflix doesn't
want to keep these guys, their golden child, the children like
brothers because of Stranger Things, then why?
Like, why aren't they keeping them, you know?
(45:01):
Their biggest success, their biggest project.
How could they not lock these dudes down?
That's weird. Weird.
Paramount just threw them a bag.But still like which is
possible, but Netflix has money. The insane, insane amount of
money. So it's just shocking to me that
Netflix wouldn't lock these guysdown.
And then finally, this is big for Paramount plus.
(45:22):
If if we really look at it, 'cause that paramount plus could
be called the Taylor Sheridan streaming service.
If we were to really break it down Yellowstone, like all all
Taylor Sheridan shows are the only ones anything anyone
watches on paramount plus. So they finally Paramount gets
another like creator such creators here to actually
(45:42):
develop some shows for them besides Tara Sheridan.
This is a win win different tone.
Good too, just like it. It felt like I was just you go
on paramount plus and it's like just like like 20th century
westerns, just non-stop. You know the neo westerns
non-stop you're right. They need a a different flavor.
You get kind of like you can imagine Taylor Sheridan just
(46:03):
like literally has a weight on his back, you know, from
carrying that, that whole streaming service.
They need someone else. It's good.
Taylor Sheridan has literally held Paramount hostage saying
give me more money, give me a bigger budget, let me use my
horses, let me use my ranch, payme to use my ranch because they
have to use my horses, exactly because there's nothing else.
This is huge for Paramount Plus in the streaming service, 'cause
(46:24):
now, like it's not only they getmore content.
That's a little different than Tara Sheridan, but they're not
as reliant on him and they don'thave to pay him as much anymore.
Yo, dude, streaming is robbing us of like some really good
writers and directors, you know, like, like like from making like
movies and from being more in theaters.
Obviously like Fincher has been swallowed by the streaming
monster Sailor for a while. I guess like swallowed by the
(46:48):
streaming monster, but I think Taylor Sheridan, he also got
swallowed by the streaming monster.
I feel like he could have fucking been won an Oscar by
now, honestly. And now he's just writing shows
and shows and shows that are built within these different
universes for streaming. You felt like it's just, I feel
like there was a greater potential for this guy.
Now he's just the TV show streaming guy and he could have
(47:11):
been Smush. Like he and the to 20 tens, like
he was one of the best writers in Hollywood.
Like Wind River. You're thinking how high water
one of my favorite movies of alltime.
You're thinking Sicario like this guy was like the writer of
the 20 tens of like for hire like 'cause you have Sorkin in
the early twenty 10's and then you kind of have this guy, but
(47:32):
then he just pivoted to Yellowstone and then Paramount
plus, man, you know, it's just it's it's like crap, like we
could have had this guy writing for Denny V like non-stop or
something. How many Oscars you've been
nominated for? You know, probably only it.
Definitely only for writing. I'd say 2 if I'd a guess.
Ricario probably nominated. Yeah, only one.
(47:57):
So probably just sicario. No hell or high water.
That makes sense. Yeah, I forgot that was a big
like that. That movie was nominated for a
bunch of Oscars, so that made sense.
Yeah, not Sicario. Yeah, you're right.
Hell or high water. Moving on.
Any other part of the check up here?
You want to talk about Ricky? We have a live action Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming.
(48:19):
It's going to be R rated this from Deadline.
Just give me the sequel to Mutant Mayhem.
You know, why don't we just do that first?
Like who? Who wants to watch a live action
R rated teenage that this soundsstupid, like saying it out loud,
we're going to watch an R rated Ninja Turtle movie.
Like what? Well, I guess that's for people
(48:39):
that are even older than us. That's like people that are
around 40, you know, that would like this, but I can't see this
being a smashing success. If you want to make money at the
box office, and I believe Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is
a Paramount property or Prime now, it could be cool to watch
but it's just like what the fuck?
Like like it's not like like there's some characters in
fiction that are like, yeah, I would love to see like
(49:02):
Deadpool's made for R rating. Like a Batman R rated movie
would be sick. No one is sitting back in their
seat going, you know what we want?
I need to see the neat like Donatelle.
I need to see Michelangelo just chopping, you know, a couple
guys heads off. No one is thinking that.
No one wants to see that. No, it's like it reminds me of
(49:24):
not to this. Extent.
But like the Winnie the Pooh, like horror movie, You know,
like the Disney horror movie, The Ninja Turtle, Yeah.
I feel like if it was like a publicly owned, you know what I
mean? Yeah, like, like it would be
this what people would make, youknow, like Steamboat Willie or
whatever. Steamboat Mickey What it was it
again Steamboat Willie that is like the first Willie but then
(49:46):
the horror movie I forget like the first.
Like Instinct is like, make it ahorror movie.
Like, that's just like, why are you doing this with Ninja
Turtles? You know?
That makes zero sense to me. It's just kind of hilarious to
think about. Yeah, let's not talk too much
about that. Anything else here, Ricky?
Flicks. Isla Johnston, who was in The
Queen's Gambit, play the young version of Beth Harmon.
(50:06):
She is in talks to * as Joan of Arc in Baz Luhrmann's new film
for Warner Brothers. The film was described as,
quote, the ultimate teenage girlcoming of age story set in 100
Years War and, quote, sources Deadline.
Ricky, you know, I'm a history guy.
I am a historian. I don't want to watch this movie
just hearing that tag, that log line, the ultimate teenage girl
(50:28):
coming of age story we're about to make.
I don't know, like Baz Luhrmann.I feel like you can make a
really good kick ass Joan of Arcmovie, but like when you have
Baz Luhrmann in that log line, I'm like, this is going to be
tough to swallow as a dude. I think it could be badass
though, if it was like a sick director, someone that is like a
little more edgy compared to like the the dazzling Baz
(50:51):
Luhrmann. This is simple to me.
Baz Luhrmann. It's just a no for me.
This is just a no. I'm not a Boslerman guy.
I've never been, probably never will be.
And Joan of Arc, obviously. Interesting.
Story but I. Feel like it's just not like
Robin Hood, like it's not like something that has just caught
on that people like love, I don't know, like people just
(51:14):
don't aren't itching to see Joanof Arc movies.
Like there's a reason why Robin Hood has had so many movies.
Like I know Robin Hood's like not you know, I'm not saying
that they're the same. I'm saying Joan of Arc is like
is very interesting, like RidleyScott should make this movie.
Dude, that's a good. Good show 'cause he did, he did.
What Noah did he? Do that with Noah.
(51:34):
Did he do Robin Hood? With Russell.
Crowe. I believe so.
Just double checking dude. I, I, I I can't wait for that.
That Robin Hood story with Hugh Jackman.
I, I'm, I'm, I'm pumped for that.
Yeah, he's, he did do Robin Hood, Robin.
Hood is slept on dude. Robin.
(51:55):
Hood is sick like he is sick dude.
That's but like you see like what I'm saying though.
People like, love Robin Hood. They love like some of the if
you heard like Baz Luhrmann's making a Robin Hood movie.
I would throw up. I'm like, what are we doing?
Absolutely not. We don't have that same like
itch for Joan of Arc. In a sick name.
Cool story. Why skills to do that shit?
That'd be cool. Yeah, but and like you have to.
(52:19):
Be totally 100. Percent accurate, like some a
lot of the stuff about Joan of Arc has been, you know, you
know, exaggerated. I feel like that's that's that's
the sweet spot for Ridley Scott. He's a heck, I'm just going to
make her a fucking beast on the battlefield.
You know, he should do that. That doesn't for the check up.
(52:40):
That does it for episode 482. And we're going to be recording
again in Brazil. We are staying international.
So we have episode Monday. We're not going to get to the
theater this week. So we are thinking about doing
Dallas Cowboys little doc talk. So Dallas Cowboys documentary
coming up, Ricky Flex. What do you think about that at
(53:01):
some point like this is like AI think?
7 episodes or something. Oh shit, that's a lot.
It's like a last. Dance of the 90s Cowboys like
it. Is not quick, so we.
Won't be doing that. For Monday's pod, like, we're
just not, but we will talk aboutit at some point.
A talk talk's not a bad idea in general though.
Like The Billy Joel Thing has been a pretty big documentary
(53:22):
that's been on Max or HBO Max. Now, what else can we do?
Ricky Flex. We could.
We're gonna have at least at minimum, we're gonna have our
short form podcast that came outor debuted this past Monday.
We're catching you up with all the movie news.
So we went obviously with a check up today.
But anything that happens over the weekend, we're gonna tell
you guys on Monday and we'll go through all some nitty gritty
(53:43):
details and we'll do box office recap.
We'll do all of that for Monday. It's gonna be about 10-15
minutes just like last episode. If you have any thoughts,
listener on how we can improve this format, tweet at us at the
drive and pod Twitter right, andalso you can DM us at the drive
and pod on Instagram. Try to still think Ricky, what
we do for Monday. Any other ideas?
(54:05):
Maybe we just do the shortfall, draft wedding, draft Big Mike
like. We have a couple things in the
mixer. We'll, we won't, we won't lock
anything down today. You'll just see on Monday we'll
have something fun planned. It'll be a fun.
Episode and I think it's got to be something Brazil related for
sure. So stay tuned for that.
