Austn Haynes is a poet and producer from Asheville, North Carolina. He is a founding member of the hip hop group Free Radio. He is as much facilitator of music/creation as he is a creator. He's collaborated with Government Mule to remix their song Black Horizon. He also works with John Medeski and Jeff Firewalker Schmitt to produce their podcast Saint Disruption.
In this episode we discuss some ways that hip hop influences the drummers and beat makers of other styles of music, technology as an instrument, and ways to stay engaged with the creative process even when we are not actively creating.
