In this episode, Deepesh Dhingra, Executive Director of One to World, Inc. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, Deepesh first visited the United States as part of a small delegation to the UN representing the Congressional Youth Leadership Council. This inspired him to move to New York City in 2004 to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Deepesh began his professional career in the construction industry as a Project Manager focusing on a design-build approach for commercial mission critical facilities. He built experience working for industry leading firms, such as Schneider Electric, before making a career shift into nonprofit organizations to fulfill a lifelong passion for education and service.

He has always been affiliated with One To World first as an international student and Global Guide from Kenya. He taught numerous workshops and supported the organization in various ways. His work got him nominated to join the One To World Board of Directors in 2020. He then transitioned to the Executive Director in 2024. Leading the organization allowed him to give back to the international students in the way that he was supported by One To World.

Deepesh has been an active member in the nonprofit world for the past 15 years, and has contributed to organizations such as the American Red Cross, Kenya Wildlife Service, NJ Community Water Watch, The National Science Foundation, The Interfaith Food Pantry, FIRST Robotics and as a Global Guide for One To World for the past 10 years. In recognition of his service to the community, the Jersey City Police Department presented Deepesh with the Outstanding Civilian Award for community service in 2021.

Now, let's dive into our discussion on education, empowerment, and Deepesh journey from being a student to a leader.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
