Leonard Parker's video recor (00:00):
Is your electrical business

(00:01):
basically invisible on GoogleMaps You know that place where
everyone who needs anelectrician actually searches
hater I'm Leonard Parker withDestiny Marketing Solutions For
almost a decade now we've beenhelping electrical service
companies like yours Get foundby the customers who need them
the most And I've got to tellyou if your Google Business

(00:26):
profile isn't fully optimizedyou're essentially wearing an
invisibility cloak while yourcompetit competitors are
stealing your jobs Today I'mgoing to show you exactly why
most electricians arepractically ghosts on Google
Maps and the specific fix fixesthat can transform your online

(00:47):
visibility Plus stick around foran expert tip at the end about
service areas and local pagesThat could be the hidden circuit
breaker in your marketing systemHere's the shocking reality Most
electrical businesses don'tunderstand Google Maps isn't
just some digital business cardyou can set up once and forget

(01:12):
and when I mean by Google Mapsyour Google business profile It
is the primary battlefield whereready to buy Customers are
actively searching for helpThink about it when someone's
panel is smoking or their lightsare flickering are they
leisurely browsing the yellowpages No They're grabbing their

(01:35):
phone and typing electriciannear me into Google and if
you're missing or inactive onGoogle Maps you're completely
invisible to these high intentcustomers What many electricians
don't realize is that yourprofile isn't just a business
card it's actually a lead magnetWhen optimized correctly Looking

(01:59):
at the data Google's algorithmheavily rewards complete Updated
profiles with prime positioningat exactly the moment customers
need you The cost of a weakGoogle profile isn't just
theoretical It's bleeding actualleads and revenue daily
According to our research brokenprofiles quite quietly lose

(02:23):
electrical businesses thousandsof dollars in potential jobs
When your profile is incompleteor outdated you're essentially
handing money directly to thecompetition who show up in those
top three map listings Now let'sdive into the first critical

(02:44):
mistake Almost every electricalbusiness makes NAP stands for
name address and phone numberand inconsistencies here are
digital poison for yourvisibility When we audit
electrical businesses Weconsistently find that their NAP
information varies acrossdifferent platforms Your Google

(03:07):
listing may say A B C electricwhile your website has a B c
electrical service and Yelpshows A B C electrical those are
all three different names if youdidn't catch it So these
inconsistencies confuse Googleand lower trust in your business

(03:28):
One underappreciated aspect ofNAP is phone number selection
Many electricians use toll-freenumbers on their profiles not
realizing that local phonenumbers significantly improve
rankings Google's algorithmstrongly prefers local area
codes as a relevant signal whichmakes perfect sense Customers

(03:52):
want a local electrician notsomeone three states away
Another subtle but powerful napelement is your business hours
If you truly offer 24 7emergency electrical service and
most successful electricians doyour hours should reflect this

(04:12):
availability We recently auditedan electrical business that
claimed to offer emergencyservice but they had standard
nine to five hours in theirprofile They were missing every
late night electrical emergencyin their area The bottom line
confirmed by our data analysisjust one nap error can

(04:35):
completely knock you out of themap pack especially if you're
competing in a co competitivemajor metro area NAP consistency
is that serious for yourvisibility So I'm gonna switch
gears here and actually switchover to another tab in my

(04:56):
browser And what I suggest ifyou're just getting started with
local SEO and your Google Mapsoptimization Google Business
Profile optimization run acitation audit for your business
SEMrush I use SEMrush That's ourgo-to SEO tool but what you'll

(05:18):
realize is that there might beerrors out there that you had no
idea existed and perhaps maybeyour office location maybe it
was a previous business therelet's say a law firm And so when
you do enough of these auditsI've seen some crazy things
where email addresses wereupdated over the years for a

(05:40):
business but they're still usingthat same email address from 10
years ago Same thing with phonenumber And you might even have
some profiles that list apreviously a previous business
So I actually used a law firmexample because that's something
that we've seen here veryrecently So what you're looking
here on my screen this is thecitation audit results for Mr

(06:05):
Electric of Katie And to beclear we're in no way affiliated
with them but I thought it wouldbe best to use this as an
example And what you can seehere they have an overall online
presence of bad listings to fixSo 32 out 42 it gives you an
overall average rating and thena total number of reviews So

(06:28):
moving on here We see that thetool will look at all the major
citation websites So thinkFacebook Yelp Bing your Google
Business profile of course Andthen there are many others that
we click further down that areall part a effective online

(06:51):
citation presence And so theseare what we call very general
citations So any industryelectricians plumbers hvac
they're gonna be your there'sgonna be a difference between
your general citation sites likethose that I just mentioned And
niche specific sites And so aswe look at these different

(07:15):
citation sites we see there's nophone number listed on the
Facebook on the Bing that's notpresent Bing places It's Bing's
version of Google Business Proof the Google business profile
it's very overlooked but itcould be a great way to get more
visibility on a search enginethat's not as competitive but

(07:36):
there still might be users inyour market that are using it
And so you can even see here sunRush has listed that the
directories monthly visits over650 million So of course that's
an overall number but just thinkabout that's a missing
opportunity that you watchingthis video can go in and take

(07:57):
care of today Probably have yourlisting up today Especially if
you already have your Googlebusiness profile because there
is a way to connect your Googleaccount with your Bing account
and you can get that set up veryquickly But nevertheless it
looks like mostly issues withthe wrong phone number So this
might be a case where they haveif I look here they have a 3 4 6

(08:20):
area code number but then wescroll down a bit further
There's a 2 8 1 number And thesetypes of nuances it does create
a lot of confusion for thesearch engines when they're
looking at this business versusothers And what I'm assuming
here is that maybe one phonenumber is the public lump number
that they use to take in callswhile the other might be a

(08:43):
customer support number or thethe main office line So you just
want to be mindful of thesetypes of nuances when you're
building out your localcitations and ensuring that
they're consistent across theboard but it all's not lost They
do have some websites somelistings that are actually in

(09:04):
good standing So there are noissues So it again it might just
be a case where this isoverlooked where they need to
just go in and update thelistings on those websites So I
use Sun Rush but there are otheroptions out there whitepar do ca
is very popular for citationmanagement to be honest I'm not

(09:26):
a big fan of Yext because thisshould be a one-time fix not
necessarily something you needto pay for over and over again
if your citation's a goodstanding you just fix it once
and maybe once a year you justrun an audit to make sure
there's nothing That needs to beupdated So definitely not

(09:47):
something citation managementthat is that I would suggest you
having to pay on an ongoingbasis Moving to another critical
optimization area Let's talkabout business categories which
our testing has shown is one ofthe biggest ranking factors in
the local pac Here's anon-negotiable fact Your primary

(10:09):
category should be electriciannot electrical installation
service or any other variationWhy Because electrician is what
your customers actually searchfor And Google's algorithm gives
tremendous weight to exactcategory matches But where most
electricians go wrong isshopping stopping with just one

(10:31):
category Google allows up tonine secondary categories which
gi which gives you massiveopportunities to target specific
high value services If youinstall EV charging stations At
EV charging station installer asa secondary category do
commercial work Add commercialelectrician to capture those

(10:51):
searches too In our work withelectrical businesses we've seen
category optimization aloneincrease visibility by up to 40
Just last month we helped anelectrician specializing in EV
charging installation at theproper secondary category and
our calls for those high marginjobs jumped immediately The most

(11:14):
common category mistake dilutingyour focus with unrelated
categories like handyman orgeneral contractor Our testing
shows this actually hurts yourrankings for electrical specific
searches Google wantsspecialists not generalists
Remember this key insight Youcan't win a game that Google

(11:36):
doesn't even know you're playingChoose your category
strategically to show up whereit matters the most And again
I'm gonna switch over here to mybrowser and just show you I'm
actually gonna use my GoogleBusiness profile as a use case
here So what you can do whenyou're editing your profile just

(11:58):
click through here And of courseyou have to make sure that
you're logged into your Googleaccount where that owns your
Google profile Google businessprofile And you see here at the
very top you have the differentbusiness categories And like I
said you can pick up to nine andthere might be some very obscure

(12:19):
categories that actually appliesto your electrical services And
so what I'll do I'll link herein the video description the
list the complete list of thosecategories so that you can see
what's available Now clickingback over to my content let's
move on to the next topic Andlet's talk about keywords but

(12:44):
from a more strategic angle thanmost people understand You
probably understand that youoptimize your website for
certain keywords and that makesyour site more visible in the
search engines But let's applysome strategy to your Google
business profile Keywordplacement isn't about stuffing
terms everywhere It's aboutlocal relevant signals The

(13:07):
proven approach is tostrategically place service and
location keywords throughoutyour profile and your business
description Naturally mentionyour primary services alongside
neighborhoods you commonly serveOur data shows that profiles
mentioning specificneighborhoods see up to 35
better visibility in those localareas or in what we call an SEO

(13:32):
those hyper-local areas Oneoften overlooked goldmine is
your services section Too manyelectrical businesses simply
list electrical repair when theycould be using 24 7 emergency
electrical repairs in NorthHouston A massive difference in
specif specificity that Googlerewards But here's the most

(13:54):
underutilized section of all theq and a area Nearly 90 of
electrical businesses businessprofiles we audit have
completely empty q and asections You might not even know
this section exists It's notsomething that Google just puts
out there front and center Smartelectricians see their own
questions like do you install EVchargers in Katy and answer them

(14:19):
thoroughly This createsadditional keyword rich content
that Google indexes and acritical warning based on your
research Based on our research Ishould say avoid keyword
stuffing in your business nameWhile they might give a
temporary boost Google'salgorithm has become
increasingly sophisticated atdetecting and penalizing this

(14:41):
practice I've seen it over andover again So please use your
brand name your company name notsomething like Idaho electrical
Services unless of course thatis your business name So that
does bring up you might want toconsider SEO if you're just
starting off and you are lookingto figure out a name for your

(15:03):
business But that shouldn't bethe only determining factor when
choosing a business name butsomething to consider We've seen
electricians completelydisappear from the maps after
adding best emergencyelectrician to their business
name The data is clear on thisone Ranking high means talking
like the people searching foryou When customers search for

(15:25):
license electrician for a panelupgrades near me Google looks
for those exact terms in yourprofile Make sure they are there
naturally And again I'm gonnaswitch back over here to my
browser So I discussed a fewthings there and let's let me
show you where you can edit someof these things that I mentioned

(15:47):
So click out of that again I'mstill logged into my account And
these are the services sectionSo you can go in here and add
services I would say Again youdon't really have a limit here
but really focus on your topmaybe five to seven services no
more And then this is where youcan get very specific So you can

(16:09):
go add custom service You have acharacter count of 120 that you
can use here And again try tomake it natural So again try to
avoid keyword stuffing Really goafter what you do and try to tie
it back to your local servicearea Now moving out of services

(16:35):
you can also see that there aredifferent categories that you
can add So Google what they'lldo they'll actually allow you to
If I click into this you canactually include pricing there's
no definitive data on whetherthis helps or not but maybe if
you have a starting price So youcan choose the from option and

(16:59):
you can put that service pricethere And then you want to also
provide service description Sothis again is where you can
sprinkle in more SEO morekeywords more information about
your target locations yourservice area And still you wanna
make sure that it's natural andyou have up to 300 characters
for this So I'm gonna click outof here You'll see that there

(17:25):
are those different categoriesSo again you I would suggest
first starting with adding abusiness category And then from
there start building out yourservices for each category So it
might help to write this downbefore you go here to your
Google business profile to startadding things The other thing
that I went over there is the qand a So you can go here and ask

(17:49):
a question So what I do I eitherhave multiple Google accounts
where I can go in and ask thequestion then answer it from the
account that owns the profile Orif you have a team or even loved
ones you can have them go inwith their Google accounts and
ask questions but the key hereis that you want to see

(18:10):
questions that are relevant toyour services that people are
searching for So if we go overhere to common electrical issues
you can see that Again this isjust a Google search I did for
this video But what you wanna dois find this People also ask
section and these are questionsthat are commonly searched for

(18:34):
that are related to this searchquery So what are the 10 common
electrical problems andsolutions And maybe you can
break those down and have oneone question per issue What are
the signs of bad electricalwiring You know maybe you have a
prospective customer who's notconfident in previous electrical
service that was rendered totheir home or business Are there

(18:57):
warning signs before electricalfire So you get the point here
You wanna understand what arethose questions that people are
asking people also ask is agreat option if you just quickly
want to get to those questionsand you can if once you start
drilling down expanding thesedifferent menus you'll see that
this list of questions getslonger So I would just go

(19:18):
through this and write downthose questions write down your
answers and get them into theGoogle business profile You can
also of course look at or reviewthe questions that you're
commonly getting from your salesprospects from your current
customers and those are greatAlso to add to your Google
business profile Again this issomething that's very overlooked

(19:41):
I am sure that many people don'tknow it exists but again it can
be a great way to targetspecific pain points that people
are searching for in your areaNow moving back to my slides
transitioning into visualelements So if you have a Google
Business profile you're likelyaware that Google Or you do have

(20:06):
the option to upload picturesand video clips to that profile
these could silently besabotaging your lead generation
because if you don't havepictures there Google will
default to the street viewpicture which is never a good
version of your business or whatyou probably want it to be

(20:26):
Sometimes it's a dumpster orsomething random like this
that's not relevant you wannamake sure you're proactive in
uploading pictures and videosthat are relevant In analyzing
now hundreds of businessprofiles we found a clear
pattern Those with robustquality photo galleries
dramatically outperformcompetitors Let me share some

(20:48):
eye-opening stats According to abright local study businesses
with over 100 photos on theirGoogle profiles get 520 more
calls 2717 more directionrequests and 1060 5 more website
clicks than businesses with justa few images Now of course I'm

(21:12):
not expecting you to go afteryou watch this video and upload
100 photos Of course you can ifyou want but you might need to
actually take those photos andvideo so that if they're ready
for your profile But thosenumbers are staggering don't you
think And as those numbers showthese photos and other rich
media can directly impact yourbottom line But it's not all

(21:34):
about Quantity isn't enough Ourresearch also shows that
specific types of photos performbest for electrical businesses
branded trucks uniformtechnicians so members of your
team before and after projectphotos and images showing your
work across differentneighborhoods in your service
area The absolute worst mistakeusing stock photos our eye

(21:57):
tracking studies show customerscan spot generic electrical
images instantly creating animmediate trust barrier One
electrical business we consultedwith replaced their stock images
with actual job photos and saw a26 increase in call conversions
within the first month And theseare photos that they put

(22:19):
together maybe in a few daysThey just had their technicians
make sure to take photos of theworkday we're completing for the
customer and by the end of thatfirst week we had videos
pictures that we could use withtheir Google Business profile
Another technical advantage mostelectricians miss using EXIF

(22:40):
tools to embed location data inyour photos before uploading Now
depending on the device thatyou're using to take the
pictures this might be thisinformation might automatically
be updated but the idea here isthat you want to geotag your
images so let's say if you're ina specific part of your area or

(23:02):
your service area make sure thatyou geotag that image with the
coordinates of that area thelongitude latitude coordinates
And so I've shared a in aseparate video how you can do
this but I'll also drop a linkto that video along with the
tool that we use to geotagimages in case you want to
explore this further In ourcontrolled tests geotag images

(23:25):
have consistently improved mapvisibility in those specific
neighborhoods by helping Googleunderstand exactly where you
work The data doesn't lie Photosare the new first impression and
they need to count Weeklyuploads of geotag job photos
should be part of your standardbusiness process And now again

(23:49):
gonna take a quick detour toshow you an example of a company
that's doing very well withtheir photos So this is Mr
Electric of Katie Katie Texas Ifyou're not familiar it's a
suburb of Houston And so you cansee here I'm gonna zoom in just
a bit They have a good mix ofteam photos So you should be

(24:12):
able to see that better now Havea good mix of team photos They
have some pictures with theirbrand branding They also have
videos of short 32nd clips ofcustomer testimonials There you
go The picture with theirbranded trucks and also other
branding So someone who'slooking at these pictures and

(24:35):
they're looking for a aqualified electrical services
provider they're definitelyputting on a great first
impression with their brandingand with their job site photos
So something to consider whenyou are working on optimizing
your Google business profile sojust make sure that you are

(24:56):
proactive with this and it'salways helpful to get pictures
of customers and just becreative here You know whatever
you think is relevant for theservices that you offer So now
I'm gonna go back to my contentand let's go to the next topic
reviews And if you watch any ofour videos I probably mention

(25:17):
reviews and most of them butthat's just how important they
are for establishing your localonline presence with your Google
business profile It is not justabout accumulating five star
ratings In fact I think thesweet spot for your reviews is
somewhere between 4.5 and 4.8Again if you're just not you

(25:42):
know hitting home runs of everyjob great you have a five star
rating But when it's in that 4.5to 4.8 range it just comes off
as more authentic because thereis a market where you can go and
buy reviews unfortunately Sowith reviews it's about
strategically using them toboost both visibility and

(26:04):
conversion rates Our keywordanalysis reveals that reviews
containing both specific jobtypes and locations have
significantly higher SEO value areview saying great electrician
does almost nothing for yourrankings but one that says A BC
Electric did an amazing jobInstalling our EV charger in

(26:26):
West Houston is incrediblypowerful for local search Why
does this matter Our trackingshows that Google's algorithm
reads these reviews andassociates those specific
keywords with your business Whensomeone searches EV Charger
installation in West Houstonthose keyword rich reviews
directly improve your rankingfor that specific search The

(26:50):
implementation isstraightforward After completing
a job send your customers afollow-up message specifically
asking them to mention both theservice they receive and their
neighborhood in their reviewThis small change in your review
request process can yieldmassive visibility improvements
If you're finding thesestrategies valuable take a

(27:11):
second to hit that subscribebutton and drop a comment below
with your biggest Google Mapschallenge We read every comment
and often create new videosaddressing the most common
questions that we see Your inputdirectly shapes our future
content so don't be shy Andgetting back on track Don't just
collect reviews respond to everysingle one Our engagement data

(27:33):
shows businesses that respond toall reviews are considered 1.7
times more trustworthy byconsumers So almost twice as
twice more trustworthy Use theseresponses to naturally reinforce
your key services and locationsso you can do something like
Thanks for choosing us for yourpanel upgrade in Oak Forest is a

(27:54):
neighborhood here in Houston Weappreciate your business
Implementing an automated reviewsystem can transform your
profile's power One electricalbusiness We work with adding
added a simple QR code on theirinvoices linking directly to
their Google Review form Theresult they went from three
reviews per month to 10 andtheir map pack visibility

(28:17):
expanded to twice as manysearches Remember this crucial
insight smart strategic reviewsdon't just build trust they
actively boost your ranking forhigh value searches Now let's
discuss an element that 82 ofelectrical businesses completely

(28:37):
neglect Google posts If you'renot regularly posting updates to
your profile you're essentiallytelling Google your business
might be dormant Think of Googleposts like your digital pulse No
posts equals no pulse You'redead at least online Our
internal data shows thatprofiles with weekly posts

(28:58):
receive 14 higher conversionrates from views to calls
compared to inactive profilesDisengagement directly
influences your ranking positionfor electrical businesses We
found specific post typesperform the best completed
project showcases so a beforeand after dynamic seasonal

(29:19):
electrical safety tips andspecial service promotions Each
post should include a strongcall to action like Call now or
get estimate These interactiveelements drive engagement
metrics that Google's algorithmvalues We recently worked with a
business in Austin thatimplemented a simply weekly
posting schedule Within justeight weeks they saw a 22

(29:43):
increase in profile views and a17 increase in calls Massive
improvements from a five minuteweekly task make each post work
harder by highlighting specificneighborhoods or services
Instead of recent kitchenremodel use kitchen rewiring
project in memorial areaMemorial is a section here in

(30:05):
Houston This reinforces yourservice areas to Google's
algorithm while providing usefulcontent to potential customers
Our tracking clearly shows thatwhen you don't post regularly
Google begins to question yourrelevance and activity level
Meanwhile competitors whomaintain consistent posting
schedules Maintain freshnesssignals that keep them prominent

(30:27):
in the search results The keyinsight no post equals no pulse
Google assumes your close areirrelevant if you're not
regularly updating your profileand this directly impacts your
visibility So before I move onto the next topic I'm also gonna

(30:47):
go back to Mr Electric becausethey are doing a great job with
their posts as well So let'sscroll down here So they do have
some things here from I'm makingthis at the beginning of May So
they do have some things herefor the end of April You can see
here it's a simple picture ofthem you know one of their team

(31:08):
members who's working on a paneland they're actually adding
value with the post So they isit dangerous if a circuit
breaker keeps tripping Longstory short yes If a circuit
breaker Automatically trips backoff every time you reset it then
stop forcing it And then you'llsee they have this call to

(31:29):
action link where you can learnmore So it's actually linking to
their blog posts So there's afew things to consider here You
can link to a blog post as theyare doing here it's also it's
typically gonna be especially ifit's the first interaction that
prospect has with your businessunless it's an emergency they

(31:50):
probably want to learn moreabout that topic before they
decide to call you So you knowyou don't want to go in for the
engagement requests on a firsttouch but educate give them some
value before you ask for theirbusiness You can also one
strategy that we've used isHaving a series So every week

(32:12):
you have a new Google Businessprofile post on a specific or
related to a overarching topicSo let's say for the month of
May you're really focused oncircuit breakers or preparing
for the summer So safety tipsfor the summer And what you can
do is actually link each ofthose posts together and then

(32:34):
have one post actually link outto a blog or some content you
have on your website So that canbe very important a way to use
these Google Business Profileposts and something else to
consider These posts are live orvisible to the public for seven
days So after seven days it'llstill be in the back end of your

(32:56):
Google Business profile but yourpublic or your searchers won't
necessarily see it So this issomething again quick five
minute Task every week you orsomeone from your teams just go
on here upload a picture uploadsome texts and that's your post
for the week And if you watchour other videos I'm really a
big fan of content repurposingSo if you're also active on

(33:20):
other social media channels likeFacebook take your Facebook
posts rework it a bit for GoogleBusiness your Google Business
profile posts and there you haveit You don't have to keep
reinventing the will So just afew tips there before I go back
to my next topic so moving on tobuilding real local cred

(33:41):
credibility off of GoogleThere's an insight here that
most electricians miss Whathappens outside Google and
offline significantly impactshow you rank on Google and your
visibility online Building reallocal credibility creates
powerful trust signals thatGoogle's algorithm cannot ignore

(34:05):
Our citation analysis revealsthat electricians should focus
on two distinct citation typesgeneral business directories
like Yelp and Yellow Pages andindustry specific directories
like Angie HomeAdvisor andelectric specific listings
consistency across three platThese platforms reinforces your

(34:25):
legitimacy to Google'sverification systems but
citations alone aren't enoughOur most successful electric
electrical clients leveragelocal sponsorships so they
sponsor youth sports teamscharity events or school
programs These not only generategoodwill but often result in
local backlinks thatdramatically boost your maps

(34:47):
presence One Client that we workwith in the Phoenix area they
sponsored three local highschool sports teams for the 20
24 20 25 school year and thistotal came out to around$1,500
The back links from the schoolwebsites as well as the local
media coverage and proved theirmaps visibility more than the

(35:09):
3000 or I should say 1500 Theywere spending monthly on PBC ads
So that could be a strong ROIAnother powerful tactic our data
supports encourage satisfycustomers to mention your
business on neighborhood forumslike Nextdoor or local Facebook
groups These community mentionscreate digital breadcrumbs that

(35:31):
lead back to your business andstrengthen your local relevant
signals Local PR opportunitiesalso yield substantial
visibility benefits Gettingfeatured in local business
spotlights or industrypublications often results in
authoritative backlinks thatGoogle heavily weighs in its
algorithm The pattern is clearacross hundreds of different

(35:54):
profiles with analyzed Googletrusts businesses that the local
community trusts buildcredibility offline and your
online visibility naturallyimproves So a couple additional
things there when you arelooking at how you can possibly
use offline approaches to helpwith online always think about

(36:18):
how you can get a link back toyour website I don't want to
come off as selfish but you andthat's the only reason why
you're maybe sponsoring an eventbut if that's part of their
sponsorship package make surethat it's going to a Page or
profile online that is a reallybig lead generator for your
business In addition to thisthere are different PR

(36:41):
syndication websites out therebut I suggest trying to find
someone who specializes in PR inyour area So it might be helpful
to have connections at the localnews stations or for someone on
your team to be in charge ofthat type of work cause you
never know if there's a seasonchange and they need an expert

(37:03):
and you're the first on theirlist you might get a guest spot
on a news segment I've had thathappen with several clients so
of course you can't beat thattype of coverage that type of
marketing So always look forthose opportunities Now I'm
gonna click again away from myslides And I mentioned something

(37:23):
very important This is an onlinestrategy It's called local
citations So earlier in thevideo I talked about the
importance of ensuring thatthese are consistent with your
business name address and phonenumber But what you may not know
is where should you be addingcitations And so here's a list
from Bright Local it's aAuthority on local SEO they have

(37:47):
a software and as I mentionedyou're going to have your
general citation sites so GoogleBusiness apple Business LinkedIn
Facebook Instagram But thenyou're also going to have very
niche or electric specificopportunities So porch
contractors.com mediaelectrician.com and I'll drop

(38:10):
this link in a video descriptionBut you'll see that these
websites they have specificcountries that they serve and
some of them they do servemultiple countries So definitely
it is worth the time to gothrough and set up these
profiles on for your business onthese different citation sites
because over time they can be agreat way to generate leads away

(38:31):
from your site away from yourGoogle business profile But they
also help build the authorityfor your Google presence Now
scrolling back over here Somoving on to measurement and
analytics let's discuss acritical blind spot For most
electricians they set up theirGoogle profile and then never

(38:54):
analyze the performance dataThis is like installing a
circuit and never testing if itworks The Google Business
Profile Insights featureprovides valuable metrics that
directly inform youroptimization strategy profile
views search queries customeractions and photo performance
These aren't just stats they'reactionable intelligence that

(39:15):
reveals what's working and whatneeds improvement We've found
that adding UTM trackingparameters to your profile's
website link or as we saw withMr Electric if they are linking
to a blog post on their websiteadding these UTM tracking
parameters allows you to seeexactly how much traffic And

(39:36):
which conversions come directlyfrom your Google Business
profile efforts This data helpscalculate the actual return on
investment of your optimizationefforts Crucial for making
informed marketing decisions Onekey metric to monitor sudden
drops in views are engagement Inour experience these typically

(39:56):
indicate either a competitor hasimproved their profile or Google
has updated its algorithm Eitherway it's a signal requiring
immediate action Our analysisreveals that addresses when
they're displayed incorrectly onmobile devices which could be a
simple fix but this could be aculprit in declining traffic to

(40:18):
your profile and declining viewsAnd while monitoring these types
of metrics this is somethingwhere you could be losing leads
indefinitely The most importantinsight from my years of
tracking Google's algorithmheavily weighs user behavior
signals that includes yourGoogle business profile and your
website When people consistentlyclick on your listing call your

(40:43):
business or request directionsAfter viewing your profile
Google interprets these asstrong relevant signals and
improves your rankingaccordingly Make data review a
monthly discipline in yourbusiness The patterns reveal
will guide you your will guideyour optimization strategy for
more effective guess moreeffective work and you're not

(41:04):
doing guesswork and again a veryquick detour if you're not sure
where to find these insights Soagain you wanna log into your
business profile There's gonnabe a tab called performance And
then you can see how things aretrending over time and one thing
to note about this is that youdo have a limit on how far back

(41:25):
you can go So it's roughly sixmonths So it is good to just
record this information so thatyou can look back and say for
May 2025 how does it compare toMay 2024 in previous years And
that can help you understanddifferent impacts that
seasonality might have on yourmarketing visibility Okay now

(41:49):
let's go back here and Now thatwe've I've covered these core
optimization elements you mightbe wondering how to tie

we help electricians turnunderperforming Google profiles

(45:24):
into lead magnets You don't needa new platform There's always
something new that's coming outwith marketing for electricians
You need to fix what you alreadyhave and let us help you with
that that work Now before I wrapup this video I want to share a
couple of expert tips First tipsecular realistic service areas

(45:47):
in your Google business profileYou may target 10 different
suburbs around your major metroarea but make sure that you are
really focused and prioritizingmaybe those three or four that
are real money makers for yourbusiness And what we suggest is
always to create local landingpages So think about what are

(46:09):
those priority pages or areas inyour service area And make sure
that you have SEO optimizedunique content for those pages
And then link those back to yourGoogle business profile And this
way it's not just you justtargeting a service area During
a Hail Mary hopefully you get ajob there but you actually have

(46:30):
content in your site And evenbetter if you have completed
projects in that area this iswhere you can really start to
add value and add credibilityfor both people who are
searching for you and the searchalgorithms Our other expert tip
you want to add keyword rich qand a So I already mentioned

(46:52):
this about you know how you cango about finding those questions
but make sure that you are dearincluding your service and your
location in your answers Andthis is something that Google
indexes and always think likeyour customer What would they
ask And these are great forranking on long tail service

(47:13):
searches and I already sharedhow you can use the the people
also ask section in the Googlesearch results Another trick I
like to use is calledperplexity.ai and perplexity
It's like a chat GBT but it'smore research focused So you can
ask us something like commonelectric issues for homeowners

(47:39):
and let's just say a San AntonioSo it's gonna take a little
while to search And while itdoes you can also do the same
thing here in the Google searchresults But it looks like we
already have our answer Andthere are there is some good
information here You can seewhat content is already out

(48:00):
there what I like to do is comedown here to the related section
and I'll scroll a bit here And Idon't think I mentioned it but
the URL for this website isperplexity.ai They also have a
mobile app You can come downhere you can look at the
different questions and what youmight find is that the questions

(48:21):
you have found in the peoplealso add section are different
And so I say be exhaustive withit Make sure that you are
thinking about all the questionsthat our people are asking And
so how can I identify if my homehas outdated wiring Why do
circuit breakers keep trippingin my home These are likely
signs that someone is in need ofyour services So make sure that

(48:45):
you have a q and A for it butalso think about creating a blog
post on it if it's relevant sothat's just another little trick
that another source I use to getthose questions so I just wanted
to wrap up with that specifictip Again if you appreciate this
content you find it valuablemake sure to like subscribe

(49:06):
share and comment once a week weproduce new videos that are
really focused on helpingelectricians with their
marketing so that they're betteroptimized and more competitive
in their respective markets Sothank you for watching and I
look forward to seeing you inthe next one
