I wanted to share some recent discoveries I've made about what makes this "odd" content, that is randomly available out there, so invaluable. Know that it is was captured without Marvin's authorization. On his 1983 Sexual Healing Tour he never agreed to have one of his performances recorded for our commercial consumption. You'll notice there is not the CBS or Columbia records released album from this tour, similar to the multiple concert albums Motown released on Marvin. So THAT can help to give you a sigh of relief on the horrific audio quality that goes along with ANY of these performances you come across. Don't correlate that to a business decision that Marvin made, he wouldn't sell us quality like this. BUT, again, that being the case; that this content is truly the "work" that some TRUE fans put in, on their little janky 1983, technology-limited, devices to capture these rare performances from the baddest mother...I'll shut my mouth; it's invaluable content. Know that when you really get down to it, the power, and glory of that "thing" of Marvin's is not lost at this point in time, he's simply on a tour, and is overworking his instrument, along with not properly recuperating it in between performances, for ALL the reasons that we have been oversaturated with knowing about. So as fan #1, I've lately been exposing myself to this content with a knowledge that there is no reason in the world up to this point, that I should have allowed the forced down my throat, low-vibrational content from that one key source of material on Marvin that we are often limited to having as our sole written article...to have caused ANY sense of hesitation to riding with Marvin, having the trust in his gift, the trust in his one true, consistent offering, his MUSICAL INTEGRITY. Know that, trust that, and listen to this invaluable content, whenever you get that unexpected chance to.
