with me, your host, Dr.
Tami Dean.
I am so excited to launch seasontwo of the equity hour podcast,
and I have some great thingslined up for you this season.

Some great educators who aredoing some amazing things out in
the world.
Helping to promote equity andsocial justice.
And Eve and some people Who areno longer in educational spaces?
Out doing equity and socialjustice work too.
And I think that's reallyimportant as we go into season

That we move through the worldin how we can use our voice to
stand up for equity and socialjustice, not only in our
classrooms or schools ordistricts, but also in our
community.
And the greater community atlarge.

So I am.
For those of you that are new tothe podcast.
I am Dr.
Tami Dean and I help educatorsbuild equitable systems so they
can cultivate and support aculture grounded in equity and
social justice.
So I provide one resources andtips and tricks.

We're going to really talk aboutmoving from performative into

Tends to be.

A lot of spaces where we saywe're doing equity work, or we
believe in equity work, or wehave a.
You know, DEI statement or ateam or any of those things.
But really thinking about how dowe practically do that and is
what we're saying, matching whatwe actually do.
So we're going to talk a littlebit about that.
We're going to talk aboutauthenticity.

In what it is we do and bringingyour own voice and your
authentic self into the space.
And again, we're going to talksome more about community
because.
And I've said this before.
If you've listened to any ofseason one, you'll know, I talk
a lot about community becausecommunity is an essential part
of being a human number one.

We are meant to live incommunity.
We are meant to.
Have a community to support us,to learn from, to engage us.
And you also need a community inequity and social justice work.
There are times where this workcan feel, I'm gonna say heavy.
And so you need to community to.

(03:13):
Bounce ideas off of share yourcelebrations and also people
that will speak truth.
So as we've discussed before weall have bias and How do we
recognize that bias one withsome self reflection, but
sometimes people help show andput up a mirror for us to see.

(03:35):
What it is, where you may behaving some challenges, being
able to see.
So.
Just a little hint of what iscoming up.
And then just a little bit moreabout me.
I have been.
Doing work in.
The equity and social justicespace.
For, I'm going to say a quarterof a century.

That sounds like so long, but itis true.
And so I am just really excitedto bring this podcast to you in
season two.
