The Everyday Dad Podcast is a conversation between friends about, you guessed it, fatherhood. Because there’s no how-to manual or one-size-fits-all model for fatherhood, the podcast connects you with other dads to hear how they’re raising (or have raised) their kids. Each episode of Everyday Dad features a couple of everyday dads—Jeremy and Bob—sitting down with another everyday dad. While some of their guests are famous, others won’t be (well, at least until they’ve been on the podcast!). But the one thing they all have in common is an understanding that fatherhood is the most important and best job any of us will ever have. So, if you’re a dad—or you have a dad or just like dads—Everyday Dad is for you.
This week we had the pleasure of chatting with Jeff Hamilton from Dad Academy. At Dad Academy there's only one role that most men will have for their entire life...father. But as it's said, being a father doesn't make one a dad. There's no school, no education that prepares a man for the responsibility and privilege of becoming the most influential person in someone else's life.
Awesome to chat with Chad Wallen this week from Advance Camp USA and hear all about the need he saw and the ministry he created to fulfill it. https://www.advancecampusa.com/
This week we're joined by Dan Luigs from the Journey of a Christian Dad podcast! https://thejourneyofachristiandad.libsyn.com/website
Back like we never left! Excited to launch into Season 3 here at the Everyday Dad Podcast.
Well, with the holiday season full-steam ahead, the Everyday Dad Podcast is going to call it a year and rest up ahead of an exciting 2023. Jeremy and Bob talk about milestones, celebrations, and Christmas as we wind down Season 2. Take a listen … and then we’ll see you back here the first week of January! Merry Thanksgiving, Happy Christmas, and enjoy your family!
Justin Sterner is a creative force of nature … but at this point, he’d put his work aside if it ever kept him from his newborn daughter, Evie. In our seemingly now annual Freshly Minted Dad episode, you’ll love Justin's passion for being a dad has as well as his commitment to being present and persistent as a father.
This week we spend some time chatting about recent life and the importance of being present.
Ever wish there was a fathering Obi-Wan? ”Humility is the foundational character trait that Christ wants for each of us.” You will love hearing insights from Tom Trayser, father of 4 (8 when you count spouses) and granddad of six.
This week’s guest is Mike Sellers and he brings a great piece of advice to all of us everyday dads: pursue your kids. Find out what he means, how to put that into play, and why it’s so important to tell our kids, “I love you no matter what.”
Haven’t had your coffee yet? No worries … Erik Bledsoe will get your everyday heart pumping fast as you hear how he fathers his two tweens. One of his keys to being a good dad? Doing life with other dads so you know you’re not alone.
As the dad of two adult kids and grandad of two (with a third on the way), Bob Elder is the kind of dad you wish lived next door so you could access his wise counsel every day. One of our favorite thoughts from him: “Enjoy the moments.” You’ll enjoy our time with Bob!
Daniel Boehm (or Bam as we like to call him) is the dad of two preschoolers. He shares what he’s learned about patience (especially on the golf course with his oldest) and drops nuggets of wisdom on us, including the importance of trying not to rush through things with his boys.
Jeff Abramovitz is the dad of three adult children, and his advice on moving from Coach to Consultant to Counselor is gold. In addition, we talk about his role as G-Pop (perhaps our favorite Everyday Granddad name to date) and the challenges of not living near his grandkids.
Matt Gallagher is the dad to five kids ranging in age from 18 down to 3. Read that again before you click the play button! Matt drops some great insights on what it’s like raising kids at such varying stages and ages, and shares the role thankfulness plays in their family. BONUS: Matt offers great advice to dads trying to figure out family devotions.
What can you say about our guest Scott Mills?! A longtime friend to both Jeremy and Bob (don’t hold that against him), Scott brings a great perspective on being a dad two kids, eight years apart. Scott will inspire you to remember how important it is to help your kids chase their dreams. Tell us what you think after you listen!
Chris Castor is a creative master, raising a new generation of creatives. But the biggest takeaway we have from our conversation with this dad of two is how much he appreciates being able to raise his kids in close proximity to his extended family—grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins.
This week’s guest is Brian Cates, the director of the movie FAMILY CAMP (which is a GREAT movie for you to watch with your family). But that’s not why he’s on the podcast. He’s here to talk about being a dad to three amazing girls and how learning to show true repentance was a gamechanger for him.
