Reach out to me here!

Ever felt trapped between impossible circumstances with no way out? You're in good company. The Israelites faced the same dilemma—Red Sea before them, Pharaoh's army closing in behind—when Moses dropped a spiritual bomb: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

This episode unpacks Exodus 14:14, revealing how this ancient wisdom still "slaps" today. We explore what it truly means to be still—not just physical inaction, but actively silencing our anxieties and complaints. The Hebrew word "harash" teaches us that sometimes our greatest battle isn't the situation itself but our mouths speaking doubt over it.

We take a fascinating detour through nature, examining how foxes use strategic stillness while hunting—remaining motionless for up to an hour before striking. Like these clever creatures, God calls us to understand that stillness isn't laziness but strategy. Through biblical examples from Joshua, King Jehoshaphat, and powerful complementary verses, we discover that true strength often comes from knowing when to work and when to wait.

If you're tired of "button mashing" through life's challenges and ready for a different approach, this episode offers profound perspective. The most gangster move might not be rushing to fix everything yourself, but standing firm while God works. Subscribe to The Faithful Fox for more biblical insights delivered with authenticity and humor. Remember—sometimes the move is not to move.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's good, fam.
Welcome to the Faithful Fox,where we keep it real with the
Word and throw in some laughsalong the way.
I'm your host, justin, but thestreets know me as Juice man,
and today we're diving into oneof the most gangster verses in
the entire Bible Exodus 14, 14.
The Lord will fight for you.
You need only to be still.

(00:21):
Talk about dropping the mic.
God's basically like yo, I gotthis, just chill.
And man.
This verse hits different whenyou're stressing about life.
It's like God's telling us stoptrying to fix everything
yourself.
You absolute goofball, let mehandle it.
So today we're breaking downwhat it means to let God fight
your battles, how to actually bestill when everything inside

(00:43):
you is screaming to take control, and why this ancient truth
still slaps in 2025.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Plus, we've got Fox Facts coming your way, so let's
get it your host, and I'm soglad we're acquainted.
We're praising your name andthe way that he's taken away our

(01:10):
sin.
Yeah, your words give me graceand you're here in this place.
I've been blinded by your holylight.
Give me blessings from abovewhen I broadcast Welcome to the
Faithful Fox Podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Alright, so let's kick things off with our Warrior
, god segment Warrior.
So listen, before we had Marvelsuperheroes, we had the OG, the
God of Abraham, isaac and Jacob, out here parting seas and
dropping walls like they're hot.
The context of our verses ispretty wild.
The Israelites had just bouncedfrom Egypt after 400 years of

(01:57):
slavery Now, that's longer thanyour Netflix free trial, I'm
just saying and Pharaoh was bigmad about it.
So picture this God's people aretrapped between the Red Sea and
Pharaoh's army.
They've got water in front, angry Egyptians behind, and
they're losing their minds.
They start whining to Moses bro, you brought us out here to die

(02:17):
.
There weren't enough graves inEgypt.
The disrespect.
And Moses is like don't worry.
The disrespect.
And Moses is like don't worry.
And they're like we're gonnadie.
And he's like nah.
And they're like but thechariots?
Real, real dramatic scene.
Let me tell you.
But this is when Moses dropsExodus 14, 14 on them.

(02:41):
The Lord will fight for you.
You need only to be still andboom.
God parts the Red Sea.
They walk through on dry groundand when the Egyptians try to
follow not today, satan, butcheck this God fights for his
people all over scripture.
Remember when Joshua was takingon Jericho.
God said just walk around thecity, play a little jazz and

(03:01):
I'll handle the rest.
And the walls came tumblingdown.
Or King Jehoshaphat in 2Chronicles, chapter 20, homeboy
was facing three armies at onceand God told him the battle is
not yours but God's.
So they sent the praise team tothe front lines instead of
soldiers.

(03:22):
Imagine, just imagine being soconfident in God that you send
the worship band to face an army.
That's wild.
But guess what?
Day one God's resume as awarrior is undefeated,
undefeated.
So when he tells us to be still, it's not because he wants us
to be passive, it's because he'sabout to do something our hands

(03:44):
can't do.
Moving on, it's time for someFox Facts.
I summon the very facts that Iam a man Love that one.
In this segment.
I'm going to drop some randomknowledge that somehow connects
to our spiritual theme.
Did you guys know that foxeshave an incredible sense of

(04:04):
patience when hunting?
They can stand motionless forhours waiting for the perfect
moment to strike.
Stand motionless for hourswaiting for the perfect moment
to strike.
They'll find a good spot, getcompletely still and just wait
and wait and wait.
Their patience is next level.

(04:24):
Scientists have observed foxesremaining perfectly still for up
to an hour before making theirmove.
That's longer than most of uscan go without checking our
phones.
Just saying I'm one of them.
So here's where it gets good.
The fox understands something westruggle with the power of
stillness.
They know that movement scaresaway prey, but patience brings

(04:45):
reward.
Their stillness isn't laziness,it's strategic, and isn't that?
Just like our verse Be still.
God isn't telling us to be lazy, he's telling us to be
strategic.
Sometimes, the most productivething we can do is absolutely
nothing.
Just trust and wait for God'sperfect timing.

(05:08):
And, unlike me, waiting for myDoorDash delivery, the fox's
patience actually pays off.
God's timing is always betterthan our rushing, okay, that
being said, let's move over toour Be Still breakdown segment
Hold still.
This is where we're going to diga little deeper into what this

(05:30):
verse actually means in context.
So in Exodus 14, 14, when Mosestells the people to be still,
the Hebrew word used is harashand get this.
It doesn't just mean don't move, like you're playing freeze tag
.
It means to be silent, to holdyour peace, to be speechless.

(05:50):
That hits different, doesn't it?
God wasn't just telling them tophysically stop moving.
He was telling them to shuttheir complaints down to stop
speaking.
Fear over their situation.
Because when we're faced withimpossible situations, what do
we do?
We start running our mouths.
I can't do this.

(06:11):
This is impossible.
We're doomed.
Did you see the size of thoseEgyptian chariots?
They had spinners, just kidding.
But you get it.
The Israelites were speakingdeath over their situation and
God was like shush and watchwhat I'm about to do.
Sometimes our biggest battleisn't even the situation, it's

(06:39):
our mouth speaking doubt over it.
Another interesting thing thisverse comes right before God
tells Moses to stretch out hishand over the sea.
So the formula is be still, then act when God tells you to.
It's not about doing nothingforever.
It's about waiting for divineinstruction.
This reminds me of when I playvideo games and I'm mashing all
the buttons trying to makesomething happen and my

(06:59):
character just dies faster.
Sometimes you gotta stop buttonmashing in life and wait for
the right prompt to appear onthe screen.
So be still means stoppanicking, stop complaining,
stop trying to solve it yourselfand get quiet enough to hear
God's next instruction.

(07:19):
The flex isn't in how hardyou're working.
It's in knowing when to workand when to wait.
Next up, it's the ScriptureSpotlight where we look at other
verses that back up our mainmessage today, light up the
runway with something from mypersonal collection.
So Exodus 14.14 isn't the onlytime God tells us to chill while

(07:42):
he handles business.
Let me hit you with somecomplimentary verses that echo
this same energy.
Psalm 46.10 says Be still andknow that I am God.
I will be exalted among thenations.
I will be exalted in the earth.
That's God saying relax, I'mstill God.
My reputation is on the linehere, not just yours.

(08:04):
Or how about Isaiah 30.15, inquietness and trust shall be
your strength.
15, in quietness and trustshall be your strength.
That's literally saying yoursuperpower comes from shutting
up and trusting God, not fromgrinding.
24-7, not from the hustle, fromquiet trust.
Proverbs 20, 22 hits the samenote.

(08:26):
It says do not say I'll pay youback for this wrong.
Wait for the Lord and he willavenge you.
So, even when someone's doneyou dirty, god not say I'll pay
you back for this wrong.
Wait for the Lord and he willavenge you.
So even when someone's done youdirty, god's like don't start
plotting revenge.
On Pinterest I got this.
We also see it in Psalm 37, 7.
Be still before the Lord andwait patiently for him.

(08:48):
Do not fret when people succeedin their ways, when they carry
out their wicked schemes.
That's basically the biblicalversion of don't worry about
what they're doing on Instagram.
Stop scrolling through theirhighlights reel while God is
trying to direct your movie.
All these verses point to thesame truth Our job isn't to
fight every battle.

(09:08):
Our job is to know whichbattles are ours and which ones
belong to God, and most of thetime they belong to God.
So we're coming to the end ofour time together and I hope

(09:28):
Exodus 14, 14 is hittingdifferent for you now.
The Lord will fight for you,and you need only to be still so
.
Whatever Red Sea you're facingright now, whether it's anxiety
about the future, a relationshipthat seems beyond repair,
financial stress that's keepingyou up at night remember that

(09:51):
God specializes in impossiblesituations.
Your job isn't to part the seayourself.
Your job is to be still totrust, to listen for
instructions and then move whenGod says move and look.
I know be still sounds passive, like you're not doing anything,

(10:12):
but let me tell you something.
Sometimes the most gangstermove you can make is to stand
firm and watch God work.
That takes more courage thanrunning around trying to fix
everything yourself.
So the next time you feeltrapped between a rock and a
hard place, remember theIsraelites, remember Moses'
words and remember that the Godwho parted the Red Sea is the

(10:36):
same God who's with you today.
This has been the Faithful Fox.
I'm your boy, justin, remindingyou that God's got hands and he
knows how to use them.
Peace out, stay blessed andremember sometimes the move is
not to move.
See you next time you.
