Forget sitting still by candlelight while the season rushes past. We’re trading passive routines for a living journey that helps your family step into the Christmas story and actually see Jesus together. Tosha Williams invites you to an ADVENTure built around one simple, powerful rhythm: Seek Him Speak Him. First, we pay attention to what Scripture shows us; then we turn to someone we love and say, “Do you see what I see?” That single question becomes an open door to meaningful conversations that fit real life.

In the coming episodes, we walk with Mary to see the promise, travel with the wise men to behold the king, stand with the shepherds to grasp the mystery, join the angels to rejoice in the joy, and finish with the victory that anchors our hope. Each step pairs a short episode with a devotion-driven discipleship guide and a flexible family activity designed for any age or stage. The guides move through what, why, and how, so you can go from insight to action without guesswork. Whether you listen while getting ready, commuting, or doing dishes, you’ll have a clear plan to lead a focused 45–60 minute family moment that doesn’t feel heavy, forced, or complicated.

This conversation is warm, practical, and honest in the midst of December’s chaos. You’ll get encouragement to schedule your time, prompts that spark real talk, and ideas that scale from simple to special. Most of all, you’ll discover how a familiar carol line - "Do You See What I See?" - can reshape the way you share faith at home. We’re not just remembering the story; we’re stepping into it, seeing new details, and helping each other notice what matters most.

You can find the coordinating devotion-driven discipleship guide HERE.

SPEAKER_00 (00:07):
As we get started today, there's something that I
need to tell you right up front.
This year, we're not doingadvent.
No, this year with the FamilyDisciple Me Ministry, we're
doing adventure.
Because, well, let's face it,Advent can sometimes feel, well,

(00:28):
maybe just a little bit boring, maybe a little bit old school.
You know, it sit still, listento this, light a candle, don't
burn the tablecloth.
You know the drill.
It's a good tradition, but well,as beautiful as those traditions
are, as much as they matter, Ithink this year we should take

(00:50):
Advent up a notch and call itAdventure because here's what I
believe.
The Christmas story is meant tobe entered.
It's meant to be encountered.
It's meant to be explored andenjoyed, and to do that with
those that we love the most.
So every week this year inAdventure, we're going to do

(01:13):
those things together.
We're going to take a fewminutes to see something new
through Scripture each week.
We're going to do a simplefamily adventure activity along
the way.
And hopefully, Lord willing,we're going to spark some
meaningful, intentional,deliberate discipleship

(01:35):
conversations about Jesus.
Because Christmas shouldn't bepassive and sit still when it
comes to devotion-drivendiscipleship.
We believe that it should be anadventure with Jesus from the
very start.
So welcome to the FamilyDisciple Me Ministry.

(01:56):
My name is Tasha Williams, andI'm so glad that you're joining
us here today.
This December, we're steppinginto a brand new Adventure
series that's called, Well, simply, Do You See What I See?
You know, that is a veryfamiliar song title.

(02:16):
I love that song so much.
But this year, we're going touse that as our springboard into
meaningful conversations becausethat question, which is the song
titled, Do You See What I See?
It is actually such a vividpicture of discipleship.
Do you see what I see?

(02:38):
I believe that it is theultimate expression of what we
call at Family Disciple Me, seekhim, speak him, because it
captures the entire movement ofdiscipleship in that one simple
question.
You seek Jesus, you look, youwatch, you pay attention to the

(03:01):
details of what he's trying toshow you.
You see him in a new way, youbehold him and what he wants to
show you.
And then once you seek him, yousee him, you turn around and you
speak him.
You turn around to somebody elsethat you love and you say, Do
you see what I see?

(03:22):
You see, let me show you whatI've seen.
Let me help you notice whatreally matters.
I don't know about you, but thatgets me really excited.
That gets me really fired upbecause that is such a privilege
that we have as Christfollowers.
This question, do you see what Isee is the heartbeat behind this

(03:47):
whole collection ofconversations that we're
inviting you into this year.
I believe that it isinvitational.
It says, come look with me.
I believe it's so relational.
It's let's see this together.
I believe it's discipleshipbecause it communicates as I see

(04:08):
him, I want to show you him.
What an amazing thing.
I've seen Jesus.
Now I want to help you see himbetter as well.
So with that, you and I aregoing to look through the eyes
of someone in the Christmasstory each week.
We're going to start off withMary, who will help us see the

(04:31):
promise.
And then the next week, we'regoing to look through the wise
men's eyes and they're going tohelp us see the king.
And then after that, we're goingto look through the shepherd's
eyes because the shepherds, well, they help us see the
mystery.
After that, we're going to lookthrough the angels' eyes and
we're going to see the joy.
And then finally, we're going toconclude with, do you see the

(04:54):
victory?

Because here's the thing (04:56):
what we see in Jesus and in his word,
well, we can turn around andhelp others see as well.
That, my friend, isdevotion-driven discipleship.
That's what we sum up in thosefour words with family disciple
me, those four words which areseek him, speak him.

(05:18):
And that's the heartbeat of thisyear's adventure.
Here's how to make the most ofthis series.
First of all, listen to thisvodcast, this podcast, each
week.
I want to invite you into thisadventure journey with me.
I've been meditating on this forabout a month now, and I would

(05:42):
love to show you what the Lordhas shown me.
It's encouraged my heart somuch.
I've been so challenged.
And well, I want to show you thethings that I've seen so that
you can turn around and showsomeone else what God has shown
you.
With this podcast, this vodcast,I encourage you, just listen to

(06:05):
it along the way.
Each episode is about 10 to 15minutes long.
So just listen while you'regetting ready one morning, or
maybe while you're driving towork, or after you've dropped
the kids off for carpool orwhile you're doing the dishes,
whatever works for you.
Just spend a few momentslistening to the podcast episode
for that particular week andbegin to ask the Lord, what do

(06:29):
you want to show me through thistopic, through this scripture
this week?
And then as you do that, Iencourage you to then ponder the
scriptures that we talk about ineach episode.
Each of the episodes goes alongwith what we call a
devotion-driven discipleshipguide.

(06:50):
And that guide is going to leadyou through seek him, speak him
with the questions what, why,and how in between.

(07:15):
And with that devotion-drivendiscipleship guide, as you spend
a few minutes in that, thatbecomes the guide that then you
can turn around and use withthose in your life to do step
number three.
And that is engage adevotion-driven discipleship
conversation.
That may be around your table,it may be in carpool, that may

(07:37):
be somewhere along life's way.
Maybe it's a bedtime moment.
Wherever it is with your familythat fits into your life and
your relationships, I encourageyou to let this conversation be
a part of your lives.
And then because this isadventure, there is an adventure

(07:58):
activity that goes along witheach of the conversations in
this collection.
Each of these are simple, doableactivities that we've tried to
create in such a way that theyare elastic enough to fit
families in whatever age orstage that you're at.
Some are super easy.
There's one that takes a littlebit more time and effort, but

(08:20):
I'll explain that to you.
But here's the thing right now,as you listen to this episode or
you're watching it, I encourageyou to get out your calendar.
I know it is so full.
Mine is as well.
But what I challenge you to dois to mark maybe 45 minutes or

(08:41):
an hour each week in yourfamily's calendar where you can
deliberately engage Adventure.
You're going to listen to thepodcast or the vodcast along the
way, but then you're going tostrategically lead your family
in the adventure so that you canlean into what God wants to show

(09:02):
not just you, but your family, your loved ones along the way
this Advent season.
Don't wait until the holidaysare rolling before you make up
your mind that you are going tolive this year's holiday out
like never before.
Maybe you are an Advent personand that is a part of your

(09:23):
tradition.
I've tried to make it a part ofmy tradition, and I think it's
amazing.
But I'll tell you, I'm reallyexcited about making Adventure a
part of my family's tradition.
So I want to welcome you in tothis year's Adventure
Collection.
Do you see what I see?

(09:44):
Because this year, we're notjust remembering Jesus' story,
we're going to step into it.
We're going to look at it, we'regoing to examine it, we're going
to seek to see it like neverbefore.
So let's begin this adventuretogether right now.
Do you see what I see?

(10:05):
I can't wait to show you whatI've seen.
I'll see you in the nextepisode.
