Managing conflict is a vital skill in building and maintaining relationships. If you have been to relationship counselling, you’ve likely heard about John Gottman and the Four Horsemen. Today, we are going to start a series on the four horsemen and focus today’s discussion on the 1st one – criticism.
Call to Order:
This week’s call to order is to come up with some examples of criticism in your relationship and come up with simple ways to use a gentle startup. Practice it beforehand and repeat it when a discussion needs to happen. It can be a tough conversation to have but a positive communication pattern will replace the negative interactions that you may be having.
