Speaker 1 (00:00):
today we are going to
talk about is fear silently
sabotaging your calling.
There is one thing that I knowit is that fear sabotages people
like crazy.
I see it all the time.
It is really tragic, quitehonestly, I see people make
decisions based on fear.
(00:21):
I see people make decisionsbased on not complete
information.
One of the things that ourbodies and our human condition
always does is we are alwaysseeking comfort.
(00:42):
We're looking for the rationalway to seek comfort.
If something is uncomfortableto us, our natural tendency is
to gravitate toward how do weget out of this pain as fast as
possible and get back intocomfort.
While that's not necessarily abad thing in all cases, it can
(01:03):
be a bad thing that sabotagesyou, and I've seen it time and
again.
I've seen it in my own life, where I'm sabotaging myself
because I'm uncomfortable, and Idon't want to be uncomfortable
and I don't want to feel thisway.
So I'm going to seek how to getout of this as fast as possible
and back into a comfort state.
(01:25):
Now I want to make somethingvery clear that there is a
difference when it comes to thecomfort zone.
Okay, and one of the things thatyou want to understand
regarding comfort is when youhave a fear or you're feeling
uncomfortable.
You really have to define whyit is that you feel
(01:45):
uncomfortable.
Is the uncomfortableness youfeel is it challenging a moral
code that you have, or is it afear because you're stretching
yourself beyond what you thinkyou can do and that's why you
feel uncomfortable?
So there's really two reasonsthat you need to look at.
(02:07):
Am I uncomfortable againbecause it's challenging a moral
code, it's crossing a moralboundary that I'm not willing to
cross because it violates mymoral code.
Or am I just uncomfortablebecause I've never done this
before, I don't know everything,or I don't know everything that
pertains to it, or I haven'tlearned everything that I need
(02:31):
to learn yet, and that's why Ifeel uncomfortable.
And so you have to learn todefine that, and I've learned
over the years how to make thatdistinction pretty quickly.
If I feel uncomfortable, why isit that I feel uncomfortable?
I've never done this before.
It's stretching me and it'smaking me feel uncomfortable,
and usually when I feel that way, I know I have to press through
(02:55):
it.
I know that I need to challengemyself, to go further and get
beyond that uncomfortablefeeling so that I can get into
what it is that I'm looking toachieve.
So that really plays big.
When you are struggling withsomething or you're struggling
(03:17):
to get to that next level, yougot to ask yourself what is it
that's impeding me?
Because I believe every singleone of you have a calling by God
.
You are here because you have acalling.
You have a message that you aremeant to share with the masses.
That's why you're here.
That's why you're a part of theFearless Influencer Academy,
(03:37):
and I can't even begin to tellyou how many people come into
our space here and they don'teven give it a chance.
They really don't, and thatsaddens me, because I believe a
lot of people end up here forone way or another, whether they
stick here or they don't, andthey go on to something else.
(03:58):
You have a calling that God'scalled you to, but fear is such
a big thing that holds peoplefrom attaining their calling and
it leads them through an entirelife that really is
unfulfilling, because I believethat if you are operating in the
calling that God has given foryou, there is satisfaction in
(04:19):
that, and when you don't havesatisfaction, I believe a huge
part of that, a huge part of thedissatisfaction, is that you're
not truly operating in thecalling that God has on your
life.
Me, I am here.
I am 100% satisfied with what Ido because I'm operating in my
(04:42):
calling.
What I do because I'm operatingin my calling and my calling is
to help you go out there andmake money with your vision that
God has given you.
Now, some people might not likethat.
I even said that Money and God.
Why would you put that in thesame thing?
Because if you think that Goddoesn't want you to be
prosperous, you're broken here.
You just don't know what Godwants for your life.
(05:02):
God has pleasure in theprosperity of his saints.
The scripture tells us that, yes, there are boundaries with
money this way and this way.
But when you look at money theright way which is a whole
nother topic, by the way, I'mjust going off on a tangent here
but when you have God as thecenter, you realize and
(05:23):
recognize money for what it is,and we've talked about this
before.
You can log into the membersarea and you can go in and look
at some of the things we talkedabout regarding money and how
God does want you to beprosperous.
That word prosperity, whoa thatfreaks so many Christians out.
You need to get your headstraight on that.
If that freaks you out, youneed to get your head straight
(05:44):
on on straight about freaks youout.
You need to get your headstraight on on straight about
what God says about prosperityBecause, make no mistake about
it, god wants you to prosper andhe wants you to prosper
financially.
That does not mean you're goingto be a millionaire, doesn't
mean you're going to be agazillionaire, but it means that
God wants you to prosperfinancially, just like he wants
you to prosper in yourrelationships, wants you to
prosper financially, just likehe wants you to prosper in your
relationships, in your marriage,in every aspect of your life.
(06:07):
He wants you to prosperfinancially too.
So I'm going off on a littletangent, but the thing that
keeps people from prosperingfinancially is fear.
So your calling is incrediblyimportant and your calling with
God will have some level ofprosperity.
Now, the amount of money okay,if we're talking about that is
(06:31):
irrelevant, because that's notthe determining factor with
prosperity.
But one of the things that iskey is understanding your
calling and what God has meantfor you.
Okay, what is meant for yourlife, what God's called you to
do?
Make zero, have no questionabout it.
(06:52):
That includes prosperityfinancially and again, I
reiterate, that doesn'tnecessarily mean a specific
amount.
I know people that prosperfinancially, that make very
little but they know the moneythat God's given them and they
handle it the correct way.
I know people that aremulti-multi-millionaires, that
(07:14):
are very committed Christians, who go to God to find out what
God wants them to do with theirmoney.
They're just, they happen tohave more.
So that's a whole other topic.
I'm going off on a tangent here, but my point is that you need
to dive in and you need tofigure out the two main things
that matter the most.
(07:35):
When you are feeling fearful, you need to identify why.
You need to identify why am Iuncomfortable?
Am I uncomfortable because thisis violating a moral code?
Or am I uncomfortable becausethis is stretching me beyond the
limits of what I think I'm ableto do?
If you can define that and youcan figure that out very quickly
(07:59):
with those two things okay, I'mputting four here, the two
things then you can go far.
I believe you can go far, andthat is very important.
Okay, so let's talk a littlebit.
I have a few things over herethat I want to make sure I
discuss with you, but one of thebig things that fear does,
especially in relation to yourcalling, is that fear distorts
(08:24):
God's voice.
Okay, fear a lot of timescarries emotion with it.
Have you ever noticed that Fearcarries emotion?
One of the things I've learnedin my life, at 51, at the
recording of this video I'm 51,and one of the things that I've
learned in my life is I've had alot of fear that I've had to
overcome in certain areas andthings like that.
(08:44):
Well, one of the things that Ihave learned is that the
scripture tells us that God is astill small voice.
It's a very quiet voice.
Okay, it's a very quiet voice, and sometimes it's so quiet we
may think that little voice thatwe're hearing is just us, it's
(09:05):
just our, it's just our thoughtprocess, like it's just us.
I'm not even sure if it's God.
That's how quiet God is, but Iwill tell you that when you have
, fear carries emotion and itaffects our body in a way that
would distort God's voice.
So when you have fear, you haveto figure out what it is that
(09:30):
fear is and decide that you'regoing to step in faith over that
fear and you have to learn torid yourself of that emotion.
Now, I'm not saying it's bad.
I'm not saying emotion is bad,but what I am saying is that so
many people make decisions basedon fearful emotions, based on
(09:52):
fearful emotions.
They have emotions and theirtendency, as I said before, is
to seek the comfort.
We want out of the pain reallyfast, we want to get out of it
as fast as possible and we wantto move into comfort because
that's where we feel okay, that's where we feel good.
So we have to learn to combatourselves and our own sabotage,
(10:15):
because a lot of times wesubconsciously seek the comfort.
So we have to stop it and askourselves why am I feeling this
way and what is it that'ssabotaging me?
So I see people get fearful overspending $25 a month on a tool
that could literally save themhours and hours a week.
(10:35):
Because I don't want to spendthe money.
Why do you not want to spendthe money?
Why do you not want to spendthat to help your business?
I'm not suggesting not be smartwith your money.
What I am suggesting is what isthe basis of a decision that
you make?
Is it because I don't want tospend $25, or is it I'm just
(10:56):
fearful that I'm not going to dothe work or is it fearful that
I don't believe enough in myselfto actually carry through?
I'm just using that as anexample.
Guys, wall honesty is what wehave to start getting if we want
to have success in what it isthat we're doing, if we want to
have success in the calling thatGod has given us.
It's very important to knowthat our calling.
(11:19):
God is calling us, but it's usare the ones that have to step
up and answer that call.
And I believe if you're hereand you're in a health and
wellness and you have a productthat you believe in, or you have
a course that you're selling,or you have a coaching program
that you are sharing with theworld and you're looking for
clients, guess what that is thecalling that God is pulling you
(11:43):
into and everything that stopsyou from attaining that more
than likely has some anchor offear to it if you're not pushing
through it.
As an entrepreneur, you mustlearn to push through fear.
I will tell you when it comesto the fear and the emotion
attached to fear, makingdecisions based on emotion nine
(12:08):
times out of 10 is a baddecision.
I have made decisions based onfear.
I have made decisions based onfear.
I've made decisions based onemotion and nine times out of 10
, I always make the wrong choice.
One of the things we must learnto do is learn to evaluate our
thinking and why we feel the waywe do.
(12:29):
It's really that important.
The scripture tells us to leadevery thought captive to the
obedience we do.
It's really that important.
The scripture tells us to leadevery thought captive to the
obedience of Christ.
Somebody might read that and goevery thought yeah, that's what
it says Every thought.
That just seems really hard.
I'll tell you.
What is really hard is notevaluating the way you think and
(12:49):
leaning down these paths thatlead to things that just lead to
more personal sabotage.
That's more painful.
If you ask me, so, learning topay attention to your emotions
and like why do I feel this way?
Ask God, show me, show me whyI'm feeling this way.
What is it I need to do toovercome this?
(13:10):
And a lot of times, god willreveal that to you.
So making decisions based onyour emotions or fear is never
good.
Anytime you make a decisionbased on fear could be a very
bad decision.
Now, not all fear is bad.
There is some fear If I'mstanding on the edge of the
(13:30):
Grand Canyon, on the cliff, andI got fear because if I fall,
I'm dead.
The edge of the Grand Canyon,on the cliff, and I got fear
because if I fall, I'm dead.
That's a good fear.
You know what I mean.
So you have to learn to definefear.
Some fear is good because it'smeant to shock you, like you
need to get out of thissituation, and quickly.
But most people, anytime theyfeel any type of fear, they
(13:51):
haven't learned to decipher whatkind of fear it is and that
hurts them Okay.
So I hope that helps you alittle bit.
Another point that I wanted toshare is that fear also, it
causes you to forget who's withyou.
It causes you to forget who'swith you.
(14:12):
It causes you to forget.
God says in Isaiah 41.10, saysfear not, for I am with you, I
will strengthen you, I will helpyou.
Doesn't get any more clearerthan that right Doesn't get any
more clearer than that.
That's a huge thing If weforget who's with us and we're
making a fear-based decisionwhen God says I'm with you, I
(14:34):
will help you.
That we want to remember that.
We have to become masters ofwhat goes on in our heads.
We're never going to be perfect.
Every one of us, we all haveflaws.
We're going to mess up.
Believe me, I've messed upplenty of my life, and I still
do.
I'm not perfect either, by anystretch of the imagination, but
(14:57):
I've learned over the years togive myself grace and mercy.
Okay, I used to not be that way.
I used to make a mistake and Iwould beat myself up to no end
about it.
But I've learned over the yearsand as I've gotten older, maybe
you could say I've gotten morewise.
I don't know.
Maybe a little bit of this grayhere has brought some wisdom.
(15:17):
I don't know, but what I doknow is that I've given myself,
learned to give myself grace andmercy.
Why?
Because God does.
God gives me grace and mercyevery single day.
The scripture says that hismercies are renewed every day.
So if he does that, why would Inot do anything else?
You have to forgive yourselfvery quickly.
(15:38):
Like you mess up.
Okay, I screwed up.
Let me learn from this and letme move forward.
But I'm not going to take it asa personal thing.
And these are the roads that Isee a lot of people go down.
Is they go down these roads ofthe sadakaj?
Is that they make a mistake andthey think that mistake is a
(15:58):
part of their personal identity, and so when they take it on as
their personal identity, it cutsvery deep.
It cuts super deep, becausewhen you have something as part
of your identity, that can begood or bad.
If part of my identity is thatI'm a son of God, I've been
(16:20):
redeemed by the blood of theLamb, I've been redeemed, I am a
son of God, my sins areforgiven, and even my sins that
I'll do in the future will beforgiven, because, well, it
doesn't mean I go out andwillfully want to try to sin.
That's not.
I'm not saying that.
But what I am saying is that thegreat news is that we have
(16:41):
somebody that has given us thisamazing thing called redemption.
It's this amazing thing calledmercy and grace.
Now, we don't want to use thatto our advantage and just go do
whatever we want because youknow, we got mercy and grace.
That's not what I'm getting at.
What I am saying is that thosetimes when we do need to call
upon God to give us mercy, togive us grace, he's right there
(17:05):
with it.
That is a beautiful thing, guys, because it allows us to say
you know what?
God, I'm sorry.
I did that.
I'm going to try and change,I'm going to work hard to do it
and boom, we're on the emotion.
Part of it is gone, like not ina sense of I'm not sorry, but,
god, I'm sorry.
You know there's some emotionwith that, but I'm so grateful
(17:26):
that you've forgiven me.
I'm going to work really hardnot to do that again, or I'm
going to use this as a learningexperience and what I'm getting
out here is that fear.
(17:46):
Many times we forget who's withus.
The biggest issue that I seewith, especially believers today
and people that really want tolive for God.
Okay, and if you're on here andthat's not your intention I'm
not here to push faith on you, nothing.
That's your decision personally.
I'm just here to speak.
What helps me every day, andfor those of you that this gels
with awesome, take from it whatyou can.
But here's the thing is that Iknow every single day I need
(18:08):
God's grace and mercy.
And if we live a life of graceand mercy with ourselves, guess
what's going to happen?
We're going to live a life ofgrace and mercy.
And if we live a life of graceand mercy with ourselves, guess
what's going to happen?
We're going to live a life ofgrace and mercy with others.
We're literally going to how weapproach other people is going
to be with grace and mercy.
Yeah, they're annoying, yeah, they do these things that really
(18:29):
grate me.
But you know what?
Grace and mercy, grace andmercy.
And it keeps us from looking atpeople like there's things that
drive me nuts about people, butI also try to look through the
lens of mercy and grace.
None of us have it right inthis life and if we try to hold
people to an impossible standardthat we can't even hold
(18:53):
ourselves to, then you'reliterally going to operate in a
way where you look at peoplethrough a crappy lens, a lens
that nobody.
This is why religion sucks.
I'm just going to throw it outthere.
Jesus did not come to establisha religion.
He came to abolish religion.
That's really what he came toabolish.
(19:13):
Religion is action with noheart behind it.
It's action, religion.
If you want my honest opinionand believe me, I know I've been
very religious in the past.
I've been a part of religiousorganizations but and I'm not
saying the way we classify underthe law, I'm talking about what
is religion?
Way we classify under the law.
(19:35):
I'm talking about.
What is religion?
Jesus did not come to establishreligion.
He came to abolish it and hecame to reconnect us with the
creator.
That's what he came to do.
He didn't come so that we couldjust follow a bunch of rules.
And we're following these rulesbecause we're supposed to, not
because we want to, but we'redoing it.
There's no joy in that.
God did not do that.
For that reason and if what I'msaying upsets you, it's not my
(20:00):
intention but dig deep and look, and I think one of the things
that has happened today is a lotof people also don't know their
Bible, especially Christians.
So I highly encourage you thatevery day, you figure out a way
to study the Bible.
Read something.
Start with Proverbs I thinkthat's one of the greatest books
to start with.
There's so much wisdom in thatbook and it's just such a great
(20:22):
way to do it.
Read it and before you do it,just say hey, God, show me
something today in yourscripture, show me the wondrous
things that you have for metoday, and just start reading
and something will click.
Trust me it will.
So fear keeps us fromforgetting who's with us, and
wherever there is fear, there isnot love, and that is
(20:45):
scriptural.
There is no fear in love.
That's what the scripture says.
There's no fear in love, andgod is.
So when we make decisions basedon fear, what happens is we're
not operating in what God reallywants for us.
So that's something to thinkabout.
And here's my final point, andI'll share this, and we'll end
(21:07):
it Well, listen to this verse.
Listen to this verse Psalm 27.1.
The Lord is the stronghold ofmy life.
Of whom shall I be afraid?
That's Psalm 27.1.
And here's the point I want tomake of this is that fear?
It actually will build a wallaround your calling.
If you're not careful, it willbuild a wall.
(21:28):
Fear will keep you fromactually getting to the calling
that God has for you.
It builds a wall around it thatmakes it almost impenetrable to
get into the calling that Godhas.
The thing is that if God is thestronghold of your life, if you
find yourself really strugglingwith something, you got to ask
(21:50):
yourself where is the fear.
Ask God to show you where isthe fear and how do you overcome
it.
If you need that help, then youneed to seek out a mentor or
whatever.
Find somebody that can help you.
And the number one thing.
I hate to say this, but thenumber one thing, the biggest
fear people have, is money.
(22:10):
It is it's the biggest fear, and not a scripture, because the
scripture says that the love ofmoney is the root of all evil.
It's the love of money.
If your fear is around money,if you have fear around money,
then money is your God.
Sorry, I hate to tell you, butthat is the truth.
(22:32):
If you are fearful about money, you've made money dictate what
you do, and that could be.
You only have a hundred dollarsin your bank account and you're
afraid because you're like Idon't know how I'm going to pay
the bill, I'm not going to this.
You have fear around money andyou've literally made money your
God.
And people are so driven bythat fear that they'll go down
(22:54):
to a bank and rob it, they'llput somebody on the street,
they'll do evil because of theirfear of not having what they
need.
And you know what that is Loveof money.
The biggest thing that we havedone as Christians is we
villainize people that have alot of money, and we all love
(23:15):
money.
No, happens with poor peopletoo, people that have no money
whatsoever.
You think it's just rich people.
That's a big lie.
That's a huge lie.
Love of money affects poorpeople too, because they will
all murder people, becausethey're just trying to get some
food, because they're so afraidthey're going to murder somebody
(23:36):
so they can get some food, orsteal a little money here, steal
a little bit there.
Fear is driving those decisions.
That is one of the biggestthings whatsoever that people
struggle with and that is one ofthe biggest fears.
And that's why the love ofmoney is the root of all evil.
And it is not just rich people,my friends.
I promise you that.
And all of that fear isliterally the one thing that
(24:01):
will stop you from having yourstepping into your calling.
It will build a wall aroundyour calling so big that you
can't even get through it to getto your calling, because you
have fear in your life.
Everything is based on twothings fear and love.
It's one or the other.
You're making a decision basedon fear or love.
Which one is it?
(24:21):
I know I need this tool at 20bucks a month, but I don't want
to pay it.
Because why Fear or love?
Why do you not want to do it?
Could it save you time, couldit multiply your efforts, but
you're so afraid to spend 20bucks a month that you don't
want to.
You don't want to do it becauseyou know this.
(24:41):
Maybe you should cut out thecable TV that's costing you 100
bucks a month.
Maybe you should cancel that sothat you can build the thing
and step into the calling thatGod really wants for your life.
I don't know, that might hurt alittle bit, but I will
apologize for it because it'strue.
I love you.
I want you to step out of thefear.
I every day try to step out ofmy fear and I don't do it right
(25:05):
all the time, but what I do knowis that I have overcome a lot
of fear in my life and I'm stillworking on it, and I'm going to
work on it till the day I die,and so will you.
But never forget fear is what iskeeping you from reaching the
calling that God has.
Until you make that hardcoredecision that I'm going to press
through, I'm going to find outwhat my fears are and I am going
(25:28):
to press through them, and I'mgoing to work through them.
Until you make that decisionand figure out a way to hold
yourself accountable, you'renever going to reach the calling
that God has on you, becauseyou're letting fear dictate it,
and that is something we have toask ourselves.
That's really between you andGod.
It's not between me, you andGod.
It's not between anybody else, but you and God.
(25:50):
So my main points for you todaythat fear distorts God's voice,
fear makes you forget who'swith you Okay and fear builds a
wall around your calling.
Those are the three things thatyou need to keep in mind and
figure out how you can overcomethem.
So I hope that helps you today.
(26:10):
I hope you got something fromthat and I really appreciate you
.
I hope these fearless faithsessions help you.
